Der Turnier-Modus ist völlig für den Garten. Sobald man das Pech hat, der rote Spieler zu sein, finden sich haufenweise Fehler, sodass man die Rätsel entweder gar nicht oder nur durch Raten bzw. sehr erschwert lösen kann. Während für den blauen Spieler alles perfekt programmiert ist, hat der rote Spieler andauernd fehlende Gegenstände, die er aber für die Lösung bräuchte, oder hat sperrige Gegenstände im Blickfeld, die sich nicht verschieben lassen. Bei einem Labyrinth war z. B. ein fetter Balken im Weg, sodass man den Weg überhaupt nicht sehen konnte. Oder bei einem Rätsel, bei dem Farben ausgezählt werden mussten, fehlten einfach farbige Edelsteine und man durfte dann alle Kombinationen durchprobieren. Richtig schlau, in einem Wettbewerbsmodus den einen Spieler auszuboten, indem man zu dumm für die Programmierung ist.

Good enough. Transmits pretty well the sensation of being in an actual escape room. It's quite on the easy side, but that's ok for me. It has a hint system in case you get stuck too. Can't really compare as it's the 1st game of this type I play, but if you like escape rooms you will most likely enjoy this one.

Habe es mit einem Freund gespielt und zu zweit macht es enorm Spaß und die Rätsel sind nicht zu unterfordernd. Eine super Ballance gefunden, um das Spiel nicht zu schwer und nicht zu langweilig zu machen.

Most of the Puzzles are really easy but there is a good variety, so it's more of a casual escape room collection
The writing isn't that great, but i really dig the character designs and artworks (not so much how they got translated in 3D)
even with it's quirks i still reccomend it tho
it's pretty short so maybe if you get for like 6-7€ with the Season Pass you get a good deal

Did the Tournament of Puzzles with a friend, and every single level is the same 2 puzzles just repeated over and over again. Those dumb ass refraction puzzles just repeated 17 times in one level. No originality, just copy and paste for every level. I even changed the map pack, and was winning until I got to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ refraction puzzle. Learn some new things to put in your levels to make them more interesting.

Short game with plenty of charm. If you play a lot of puzzle games you won't find this difficult. It is definitely beginner friendly. Progression is quite straightforward for the puzzles, most of them make sense if you think about it, though there were a couple that left us confused.

The plot is simple but okay for its length. Intuitive folks like my boyfriend can see the plot twists coming. I dunno, it wasn't as obvious to me! Lol. The art is cute and charming, and the voice actors did well. It was an enjoyable experience for us! Definitely get this if its on sale and you're looking for a short, low-stress puzzle coop.

Maybe this is because I've been spoiled by lots of great puzzle games and lots of great real-life escape rooms, but the puzzles and escape rooms in this puzzle-type escape room game are only ok. Lots of nonsense "just because" puzzling with not a lot of connection to anything. So, so many simple cyphers, it actually boggles the mind. That would make this game a maybe-buy for anyone who is absolutely starved for puzzle games.

However.... The writing. Gang. This entire game is poisoned by horrible writing. You would think that, since we're at an academy for escapists, maybe there would be a classroom or academic framework for some of the encounters. Like, here's a unique room to teach you a unique puzzly thing. You would think that. This game has other ideas, and about 80% of the rooms have at their core an ACTUAL perilous situation. Library's on fire. Professor is kidnapped. Other professor is, basically, kidnapped. Life-threatening flood. There is a bomb in the quad, a real bomb. It is so silly. And when I say everything is poisoned, I mean it. There are about 100 red herring interactables across all the rooms. When interacted with, most of them serve you, I kid you not, a pun. Freaking.... puns, man. This game is littered with puns where you might expect useful information. Seriously, you interact with some gears and a text box that says something like "this really grinds my gears" pops up. Bro. Are you serious? And this is to say nothing of the "story" and the "characters," which really should have hit the cutting room floor in exchange for better puzzling. So yeah, I didn't love this one, and I think if you're looking for a puzzle game or an escape room game or just a good game, you should look elsewhere.

Edit: just to really drive the point about the writing home, there's a part where an enemy faction is established and they are called ANTI-ESCAPE SCIENTISTS.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A HOTAS. Game detects it as an Xbox controller and overrides all controls, making the game unplayable. No way to tell the game to use KB+M or Xbox controller in the options.

Bug has been reported since 2022, but no action taken since then.

The puzzles and gameplay was fine, and it's an ok co-op experience, but this is an example of some of the worst writing I've ever seen in a video game. I'm baffled that they even bothered having a story for this instead of just a series of puzzles because I think they would have been way better off. The twist is bad and predictable, the ending and villain is cliche, almost none of the characters are interesting, and the jokes are generally just cringe.

It's also worth noting the game is designed to be playable singleplayer, there aren't really any puzzles that benifit from having a friend to play with other than using the split-screen feature to solve puzzles.

The levels are fun and unique. I've played a bunch of escape room/puzzle games and there were a decent amount of puzzles that were unique but also logical and made sense. This is huge in the genre as some of the games make you make leaps in logic to get to the solution they want. Not this game. Would highly recommend.
I would say the first free DLC with the head to head puzzles is severely lacking and grindy for no reason if you want the trophies. It feels like that was put in just to increase gameplay until the second DLC came out. Its a very different style of game being more competitive than cooperative and without a storyline.
I just started the second DLC Anti-Escape Island and it seems similar to the original gameplay with a bit of a difficulty spike since it assumes you already completed the first one.

Got it onsale for $6. Worth it for that price with some good rooms.
Small rent/spoiler : for one of the puzzle, i don't understand why they decided to use 6 D instead of 6 T. That got me stuck for a while because 6 D doesn't make sense.

Edit: finished the game in under 6 hours.

Great game as far as puzzle games go. Most of the puzzles make sense if you think about it for a bit. The time limits are not strictly enforced - you can continue solving puzzles if time runs out at the expense of getting a lower grade. my boyfriend saw this game on sale and suggested we bought it. and i was surprised!!! it's really enjoyable and a nice break from all the point-and-click co-op puzzles we've played. the graphics were charming, puzzles were at a reasonable difficulty. and much more fun the more awake you are (dont play it sleepy). overall i'm excited to own the DLC and to play the second game later on!

This is one of the better escape games out there and the Island and Past DLC are a good continuation of the game. Tournament DLC was fine, but different format. Meant more for Multiplayer which i have no interest in. The puzzles were challenging enough to be enjoyable and recommend this game if you enjoy escape room games. i've played plenty and this is up there on the list.

The best digital recreation of the physical escape room experience I've come across.

I'd thoroughly recommend this for couples, even of one of you is not much of a gamer. The puzzles are taxing enough to make you feel smart when you crack one, without getting obscure or frustrating. There's also a very robust hints system if you do get stuck.

The time limits feel just about right -- tight enough to add a a lot of tension and excitement without being too daunting.

A total joy to play and probably my favourite co-op game that I've played this year.

One of the most fun games I've played. Definitely top 10 of all time and I highly recommend it. Most of the puzzles are fun and intuitive, bar a few (which could be on me). Also, enjoyable with a friend, and the extra game modes spice up the game after the main storyline. All in all it was amazing, the plot, the puzzles, and the pacing. I got it on sale for ~5$, but I would pay full price if I knew how good it was. Very worth it for the price point IMO if not on sale. 100/10 game, and excited for the sequel.

As an escape room enthusiast I have to say this one is one of the better ones out there. It has varying degrees of difficulty within the puzzle rooms, but nothing that should leave you stuck for too long except maybe the final room. But that is designed to be hard, so it makes sense.

I played this with my best friend and we both play a LOT of escape room type of games together so we're quite efficient in them and that's my only down side to this as we finished the game in about 3 hours.. buuut we did still thoroughly enjoy it and are fully planning on playing the DLC's some day plus hop on the second one when it comes out.

So all in all I do recommend this game to anyone who enjoys escape room games as they're well designed and fun to play through, just be aware that you might run through the game quite quickly if you are efficient at escape rooms from the get-go.

My husband and I just finished the game again. (second time)

The reason it was 2. time was because when there where a demo we played it, that got us to buy it since we like the puzzels and all. Unfortunatly the full game is the same as the demo. I admit it feels like a waste of money.

But that said its a fun game with twists and turns. Alot of funny sounds when people are "talking" good puzzels easy to play alone, can be a bit of a bystander when playing with a friend, in some puzzels others you can tackle one each.

So the game is good and the solutions are USUALLY sensible, unlike a few other escape type games I've tried, but I just wanted to put a few heads-ups for people like me, who love puzzles but hate stress.
- There is no way to disable timer, so it is not a relaxing puzzle game. Some levels actually have people yelling and alarms.
- You can't save mid-level, which sucks since some of them are 30 minutes long.
I you don't mind replaying levels due to the timer, you'll really enjoy it.

Простенький, но симпатичный набор головоломок. Главная в нём проблема для меня - время. Я завалил две головоломки, просто потому что не смог уложиться буквально на одну минуту. (И ещё в одной был вынужден просить подсказку, потому что не узнал, где от неё ключ). В целом поиграть можно. Просто многого не ждите.

Там ещё есть типа сюжет, но чем меньше я про него скажу, тем лучше. Такое ощущение, что прикручивали его на отвали и в последний момент, потому что даже не удосужились озвучить все реплики.

Works completely fine in co-op, except for a few times when me and my playing partner would interact with the same puzzle and the puzzle would desync between our screens.

Addicting! Fun puzzles and a storyline that doesn't shove itself in your face, but you still get pulled in anyway.

I did it all in one sitting (a long sitting) with no hints! Very manageable, and the co-op option works well!

I will say-- very short for $20, so wait for it to be on sale. Completed all levels in 4 hours, about to see how long it takes to 100%.

My boyfriend and I played this together, and the online co-op works really well. The puzzles are just the right amount of challenging, with only a couple that felt a bit too easy or too tedious. I also really loved that the story doesn't distract from the puzzles or consume too much game time (we were here for the puzzles, so we didn't exactly want loads of dialogue to click through). Our main complaint, however, was that the camera would randomly flick in another direction, and we couldn't figure out how to stop that from happening. Overall, I definitely recommend it for anyone who likes escape/puzzle games, especially if you have a player 2 to join you!

Escape Academy ist ein Escape Game, in dem man im Koop mit einem Freund zusammen Rätselräume löst.
Das Rätselspiel kam im Jahr 2022 raus und besitzt auch bereits 2 Rätselstory Erweiterungen.
Spieltechnisch meistert man innerhalb einer vorgegebenen Zeit die Rätsel, welche bei Bedarf auch verlängert werden können.
Dabei kann der Schwierigkeitsgrad von 1-5 (Schlüsselsymbol) variieren.
Die Rätsel sind im Vergleich sehr abwechslungsreich.
Das Basegame bringt circa 14 Stunden Rätselspaß mit.
Die DLCs bringen jeweils nochmal 4 Stunden extra.
Besonders cool ist, dass der Bildschirm wie im Splitscreen Modus aufgeteilt werden kann und man so dauerhaft seinem Partner zuschauen kann. Bei Interesse kann dies aber auch jederzeit geändert werden.
Grafisch bietet das Spiel eine schöne Comic Grafik an.
Die Steuerung ist sehr simpel, sowohl mit Maus & Tastatur als auch mit Controller.
Performancetechnisch ist das Spiel nicht wirklich anspruchsvoll, weshalb es auf jedem PC laufen sollte.
Insgesamt muss ich sagen, war es eines der schönsten Rätsel Indie Games die ich gespielt habe, vor allem die Funktion mit dem geteilten Bildschirm gefiel mir sehr.

Painfully easy. The puzzles rarely demand any actual thought, and most solutions feel like they’re handed to you rather than discovered. Instead of the satisfaction that comes from solving something clever, you mostly get the feeling of going through motions. *Excellent* in couch co-op. Much more cooperative than most acclaimed co-op titles, requires a lot of communication. You almost never get stumped but almost everything feels rewarding to figure out. To me that's perfect difficulty as far as puzzles go.

Really fun puzzle game especially with a friend. The puzzles are a little less challenging than I would like conceptually but it's still a fun challenge and I can't wait to play the dlc or the sequel. 8/10

An sich ein sehr gutes und teilweise anspruchsvolles Spiel mit coolen Rätseln. Allerdings hatten mein Mate und ich ein "Bug" im finalen Rätsel. Wir mussten den Spint öffnen, allerdings wurde uns der Code falsche angezeigt. Der Hinweis hat uns somit auch nichts gebracht und nach 30min überlegen etc. habe ich auf Youtube nach einer Lösung gesucht und eben entdeckt dass bei uns die Falsche Lösung gezeigt wurde.
Ohne Youtube hätten wir es somit nicht lösen können außer eventuell wenn wir einen neuen Spielstand anfangen.
Aber alles im Allem soweit ein cooles Spiel, aber für uns keine 17 Euro wert.
Im Sale kann man das glaube ich machen.

Over all it is a good game. It has a good variety of puzzles ranging from easy to what the heck am I meant to do?? But there were only perhaps ~3 of the later mentioned kind. A big flaw that must be fixed it that a lot of people (including myself) had their progress randomly disappearing. The developers seem aware of this and there is a range of steps to follow to get the data back though. Will be buying the DLCs and waiting for Escape Academy Back to School!

An escape room game where each level has a time limit to prove if you’re really an academic escape student — the faster you solve it, the higher grade you get. It has a story and characters, each an expert in the art of escape. You can play in local or online co-op with your partner, and even showdown against them. There are 2 DLCs, and a sequel is in development.

If you’re looking for a similar escape room game with more playtime and lots of DLCs, Escape Simulator would be a better pick since it offers extra contents and they collaborated with other games, including Among Us and Portal.

This one felt pretty mid to me, but the time limit adds a nice challenge — took me 4 hours to finish.

я прошел игру, нет русского языка, некоторые места не совсем логичны и не понятны, как до этого можно было додуматься еще не понятно почему все на время, давай давай быстрее, раз пройдешь, потом все также вводишь и все у тебя оценка А, мне игра не понравилась из за всех этих минусов, еще глупые разговоры с разными преподавателями, хочешь поиграть еще отваливай деньги на DLC к черту эту игру, она не стоит своих денег, не рекомендую

Je ne suis pas spécialement adepte de ce genre de jeu, mais Escape Academy est une belle surprise. J’y ai joué environ une heure, et même si ce n’est pas le type de jeu vers lequel je me tourne d’habitude, j’ai trouvé l’expérience plaisante et bien pensée.

Les énigmes sont logiques et variées, suffisamment stimulantes sans être frustrantes. On réfléchit, on teste, on trouve; le tout avec un bon rythme. Le style graphique est simple mais réussi, avec une ambiance colorée et cohérente.

Pour ceux qui aiment les jeux de réflexion et de casse-têtes, c’est clairement une belle réussite. Ce n’est pas mon genre préféré, mais je reconnais que c’est un bon jeu, bien construit et agréable à jouer.
