7th Hidden object game I've 100%'d and am reviewing.

Much like the first Endless Fables, this one took me ages to motivate myself to play through. It's not as entertaining, intentionally or otherwise, as some of the others I've played. The mythology storylines this series goes for are so bland and boring. Overall both the puzzles and the things you have to do for the 100% are so easy and uninspired. I guess this one had a couple of neat fantasy-ish characters/designs and the music was absolutely adequate. Hilariously abrupt endings to both the main story and the bonus story which was kind of funny.

After the first outing of Endless Fables, where you dealt with a minotaur through the usual means, now you are in a world of Odin, Loki and The Kraken doing pretty much the same thing. Hidden collectibles have been made easier to find with a 'light' system (have you found everything? The light will go off when you do) and does really help with some challenging finds along the way. Overall the story is thin but the journey of finding objects is what makes these games charming and for the most part it works well.

It's a pretty basic Artifex Mundi game in that there are hidden object puzzles, "use this item to solve this puzzle" overworld quests, the map, etc, but honestly, this is among the weakest artifex mundi games I've ever played. The plot is nonexistant to the point that the puzzles don't make sense (why does helping Frigg give me a part of a druid's golem's heart? and further, if this is supposed to be Scandinavian, why are there druids?? Those are Celtic. Also they didn't have golems.) Overall it seemed really phoned-in in a way a lot of other AM games don't.

A quick and easy game to enjoy, 100% achievements unlocked in 4 hours after playing the game and bonus content. I appreciate them keeping some achievements for the bonus content, so few games do! Really enjoyed the music and Nordic folk tales weaved into the story. Very fun to play. Most puzzles were easy, but some were a bit tricky...patience is the key! Very fun playthough! :)

Another good game in this series that incorporates mythology well and is fun to play. It's pretty quick to play through, and easy to get 100% achievements, so I would recommend buying on sale (and possibly in a bundle as the other games in this series are good too). Loki was a scary enough villain, the art was good, and I was interested the entire way through. All around a solid game, and my only critique is that it was weird to see the Hephaestus avatar from the previous game playing an inn keeper in this one, this seems like a small mistake that could have been easily fixed.

Endless Fables 2: Frozen Path is quite its story and experience. Upon entering the game, you have the map from the get-go. As it is on the much later side of release, detection for collectibles is available and combination of items are fairly common. It can be noticed that some elements of animation is in 3D.

Perhaps some of the puzzles were alright for a 2017 game, but this game has no voice narrations in between areas. There is only voices between two of the characters talking. Some of the dialogues also adopted its appearance on past AM games, where they appear on square pop-ups and you can select a response. Achievements-wise, they were not difficult but not easy either. You have to play the extra story to complete all achievements, so you have to be attentive because some of the collectibles are hard to be noticed.

I have played this game for nearly 3 hours, with one achievement missed, and little more than 3 hours to complete the said achievement for a 100% run. By experience, this game definitely ranks itself a personal [u]8/10[/u] for me, and still a sure recommend.

I am pleased to say this seems to be a direct sequel to Endless Fables. I have a soft spot for game series where the same character is featured in all of the games of a series. I don't know if this will hold true for the other entries, but it's nice to see.

The story is very similar to the first, involving some famous myth or fable and the characters from that tale. It's hard sometimes to tell how much of this is taken directly from the real myth/fable and how much is stretched a little to fit into the game, but in either case I found it entertaining. This entry continues from the first in tone, I would almost even say it's slightly darker in tone, which I am not saying as a negative.

The game itself was good. I especially liked the puzzles, I found there were some I either hadn't seen at all before or at least hadn't seen in another game for a while. These games tend to have similar puzzles between them, but these had twists to them that I found more engaging and challenging to play than in some other titles. The hidden object puzzles were good too, they had ones with multiple steps as well as some where you have to use objects in the scene in a certain order to find the one item you're looking for and I really like that variety. I have been having a lot of fun with these games.

Unlike the first game, I am pleased to say that collectibles are both easier to see/find and also have an indicator built into the HUD. I did have to play through the game a second time to find them all, but that was my mistake since I could have checked the indicator in the HUD! The game contains a bonus adventure and it also has some collectibles in it, which I actually like. Bonus adventures are great, but the collectibles spread throughout them makes it feel bigger and more like a part of the main game. The bonus adventure even has new scenes included which aren't in the main game.

Overall, really good, I like this series a lot.

I did not have any technical issues with this game and this game does not have an achievement tied to difficulty.

Скрытые предметы не обязательны для прохождения истории, но для идеальной игры нужно их найти в обоих главах. То есть дополнительная глава тоже является обязательной для прохождения и немного проясняет финал. Но для скрытых предметов есть вполне удобное руководство. Так что в итоге можно за вечер получить ещё одну идеальную игру. По продолжительности довольно средняя история - мест тут довольно немного и в этом может быть удобство для тех, кто не особо любит шататься по куче различных локаций.

Мелодия приятная и история сдобрена различными мифологиями. Особо тут технических заморочек нет и лишь в дополнительной главе попалась довольно муторная головоломка с блоками, которую пришлось пропустить. Также есть некоторые косяки с переводом, но это уже типично для серии. С переводами у них всегда что-то да вылезет.

В плане стимовских плюшек стандартный набор - облако, достижения и карточки. Так что по скидке смело можно брать. Хотя даже за полную цену игра относительно недорогая. Другое дело, что таких игр издателем наштамповано уже выше крыши и есть некое однообразие в головоломках. В историях тоже хватает однообразия - это постоянно какая-то мистика, очень редко детективы.

Я могу только повторить то, что писал на предыдущую часть: Очень простенький, но вполне неплохой квест. Периодически было весьма смешно натыкаться, на что-то крайне нелогичное потому что именно в этом моменте нужно сделать так, а не так... но игре такого уровня, это можно простить.
Тем более за такие деньги. Разве что, в 2017 году можно было сделать анимации получше, даже для такой игры.

I'm not sure why, but the visuals in this game look blurry compared to the newer games published by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/artifexmundi][i]Artifex Mundi[/i][/url]. The art is mostly enhanced by fog to make the blur even more noticeable. Characters also move oddly whenever they are not doing anything. It's not that bad once you get used to it, though, and the odd movement can just give you the laughs.

The main character is going to an island to save her friend who is researching Hod and Baldur. The game will mostly revolve around that and how the history actually unfolds. Note that it's fiction, so the story might not reflect the real thing.

The story can be confusing, though. A random man will come out of nowhere without us knowing what they are doing, and the game won't explain who they are even after the game ends. Moreover, the characters that are on your side somehow know you already without them even telling the relation between the two.

[b]Gameplay[/b]
The game is a hidden object with a point-and-click element. You'll mostly find objects that you can pick up and use to other objects. Sometimes, these will lead to puzzles, although there are also times when you have to find an item in a hidden objects scene.

Most of the locks revolve around symbols. It might make the object easy to remember, but it just makes the game too easy. I only got stuck in the point-and-click section when I either didn't realize that I could take an object in an area or forgot that I could interact with an object several scenes back. The rest was just too obvious with the symbols that are reused with different patterns. Well, except for one item. There is this key item called the Evidence Collector, but it was never obvious when you have to put an item in it.

Some minigames are also reused. A lot of them revolve around rotating plates, which I hated, and memorization. It just makes the minigames boring, and as for the rotating part, it makes me not enjoy the game since I needed to use trial and error to solve them.

Also, some minigames can be hard to figure out. The instructions won't be obvious, and you need to figure out how they work most of the time. Luckily, the repetition helped this time since it meant that I didn't have to familiarize myself with a new one.

A great portion of the hidden object scenes are the type where you have to find interaction between objects. Honestly, I didn't like these types since they encourage you to spam-click, figuring out which objects can be interacted with since the game doesn't specify any.

There are some standard hidden object scenes where you need to find objects that are written on the screen, but some of them are hidden beneath other objects or partially shown on the screen. It seems the devs want to make the game difficult, but not in a fun way.

Despite the increased difficulty, the game is still short. It took me 2.8h to finish both the game and the extra content. The game has 3 difficulty options and a custom one. You can also use hints and skips if you are stuck, so you shouldn't have any issues in finishing the game.

[i]Endless Fables 2: Frozen Path[/i] is just boring. A lot of the mechanics are reused, and sadly, some of the mechanics that get that treatment are the ones that I didn't enjoy. There is no point in playing a hidden object game if you just spam-click the whole screen just to find the interactable objects to use with other items. Since there are still a lot of other games published by [i]Artifex Mundi[/i] at a similar price, I'm afraid I couldn't recommend this game.

One of the best HOG I've played, if not the best. The quality of the art in each hidden object puzzle is actually cohesive. There is a surprising amount of animation, and the voice acting doesn't make it seem like they pulled random people from the street to line read. The non-hidden object puzzles are decent, just the usual HOG fare. The story, like with all HOGs, is pretty predictable, but it's cohesive and honestly with the good art and logical progression of events I can overlook a cookie cutter story. Highly recommend this game!

Les graphismes sont jolis et soignés. L'histoire prend place sur fond de légende nordique (vous allez entre autres croiser le Kraken)

Les mini-jeux et SOC (Scène d'Objets Cachés) peuvent se faire sans prise de tête et sans avoir recours à un guide (et au pire si vous êtes bloqués vous avez la possibilité de le passer).
Vous aurez le choix entre plusieurs niveaux de difficultés.

Des collectibles sont à trouver si vous partez à la chasse au 100% (un petit indicateur est présent sur chaque image pour savoir s'il vous reste des collectibles à trouver - une fonctionnalité en plus par rapport au premier épisode qui est bien appréciable).

Le jeu (histoire principale + chapitre bonus) se boucle en 4 heures environ, le plein tarif (14.99€) est un peu cher. Il vaut mieux attendre les soldes (enfin comme la plupart des jeux vous allez me dire)😉

Let's be honest, all of these hidden objects games from Artiflex are simply bad.
The story is often not interesting, puzzles are too easy, and finding the objects is always totally illogic.
Why a goddess would give me a corkscrew? That could be avoided.
Graphics are quite pleasant, music is near inexistant, so it's simply a casual game to empty one's head after work.
The game is short, and there is always reuse from one to another: this is copy/paste of puzzles and often objects.
So when you have made one Artiflex game, you have made all.
Obviously, that should not be sold more than one buck.
I've paid them in a bunddle less each but I won't take more games even if at the same price.
You can get previous AAA games for the same and get far more value...
Other than that, Frozen Path is a little more interesting than others because a little more chalenging in the extras.

After the first Endless Fables (and several other Artifex Mundi games, some of them brilliant), this was quite the disappointment. No story to speak of, point & click "puzzles" that are the equivalent of paint by numbers, the setting - unlike in the first - evokes neither atmosphere nor tension, the art style does not fit the theme at all. The minigames are either childplay or get automatically solved when you play casual - a breach of convention that isn't documented either. And the sum of all of these is worse than its parts: They could have called the game Endlessly Boring: Low-key failure

They fixed the cutscenes resolution compared to the previous game!
Different story, but some puzzles feel recycled from the previous game, however the hidden-objects are better hidden in this one.

I liked the puzzle games and maybe 2 or 3 times I got stuck wandering around trying to figure out which item was meant to be used. I don't like using hints or skips these days. "Endless Fables 2: Frozen Path" is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a nasty cash grab by the mobile app developers, Artifex Mundi. A typical Artifex Mundi Hidden Object puzzle game, the type you normally see on mobile app stores or even as browser apps. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, most of them published by Artifex Mundi, many of them free on mobile app stores, but this one will cost you money on Steam. There's a fantasy/magic/endless winter theme to the game, but this is a just a veneer over a tired and overdone set of hidden object minigames and Adobe Flash tier puzzles, wrapped together with a bunch of static screens that you "move" through by tapping your finger on your iPhone screen.

While these kinds of games are popular amongst casual gamers, it's difficult to argue this is a great value proposition as a PC game, especially considering the price of this compared to the hundreds of free HOGs on the mobile app stores.

From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.

Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.

These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The mobile app never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this mobile app every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $15 USD, on app stores, it's free. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this can be played free elsewhere, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend.

Same as the first one of this series. I do recommend it and it is quite entertaining.

TL:DR
Recommend, but wait for a sale.

They added some features that were missing from the first game that have become more common to have in hidden object game's. letting you know if you have collected all the collectibles in a scene.

The story is interesting. I had never heard of this fable, so it was nice to experience a different one.

I played the game in casual mode as I usually do to try to enjoy it without too much hassle. Still, it was entertaining with different types of hidden object games, mini-games and puzzles.

Replay value is not really there sadly but you do get an extra chapter once finished (epilogue) and if you want to do a second run through to play with the alternate to the hidden object scenes you could do that as well.

I would say, if you like hidden object games, this is a decent series. (this is the 2nd out of 4) See if you can grab a bundle at a discounted price.

A little shorter than the previous game, I didn't find the story quite as compelling, though the shift to Norse mythology was intriguing. No magic puzzle mechanics this time. The bonus chapter was a bit disjointed, since you could backtrack to places I didn't expect I could (me thinking the Underworld was a one way trip). All in all, an enjoyable game. ^-^

Ugh it seemed so promising but it was boring and confusing. So typical and lazy. Put the gem in the lady's ass. Then click on the "thinga" to create a rune (why??). Then stick the triangle in your sista's crack. Then the thing forms another thing and goes up in the air and bangs into a random animal shape so you can stick that in your grandmothers unholy ass.

All the same crap over and over and over. So lazy & boring. then when it seems cozy for a minute, it sends you to random places outside all icy and cold with no sense of what the hell is going on. Just mindless mush and a few dumb puzzles sprinkled in.

Fun hidden object game. Nice music, eerie artwork, great overall game. Hidden object scenes were reasonably challenging, though there could have been many more scenes. The usual puzzles, turn the rotating rings, connect the gears with non-overlapping chains, press the buttons in the right order to unlock things, etc. I skipped most of the puzzle mini-games since they're all typical. Lots of morphing objects to find and little flame dudes. I got a bunch of achievements but the game says I only got 0, so there's an achievement bug. Note that this game has multiple sections, and you can't go back to earlier sections, so be sure to find all your morphs and flame dudes before moving on.

I played so many of these games that they are all having a party in my head. This one is good... Just when you switch between a harder/older game to an easier/newer game, you're like... "Holy sheep I am AWESOME! Look at me go!" Go I went and this one had... Supernatural stuff... And zombies... And a giant tentacle monster who only liked fishermen for some reason...

The most hilarious part is when this lady, my bad, PAMELA, comes in and everyone is like "THERE IS A BAD DUDE BEHIND THE DOOR! DO SOMETHING!"... Pamela is like... "I have no weapon... I have no fighting skills... No magic... I gotta go do it." The enemy then sees her and just jumps out the window or fails. *clap clap clap*

I KNOW, suspension of disbelief and don't ask too many questions in H.O.G, but please, can we still have a good time? YES, YES WE CAN!

You get a very decent mythology story on well-made maps. These aren't that hard.
How do I find what I'm looking for? Rather heavy.
Does it go anywhere? Yes, but also rather difficult.
There are also a few hidden object inserts.
Here, too, a rather high degree of difficulty.
There are also mini-games. If you want to solve them yourself, you will definitely have fun. Mostly not that difficult. You can skip them. For everything else there is the hint function, which I used a lot. Logical thinking will definitely guide you further in this game. Very well done.

The focus is on searching, for pretty much anything, of course.
Despite the high degree of difficulty, it is also something for beginners and professionals will enjoy it here.

Du erspielst eine sehr ordendliche Mythologie Geschichte auf gut gemachten Karten. Diese sind nicht so schwer.
Wie finde ich was ich Suche? Eher schwer.
Geht es irgendwo weiter? Ja, aber auch eher schwer.
Dazu kommen ein paar wenige Wimmelbild Einlagen.
Auch hier ein eher hoher Schwierigkeitsgrad.
Minispiele sind auch dabei. Wer sie selbst Lösen will hat bestimmt Spass dabei. Überwiegend nicht so schwer gemacht. Du kannst sie Überspringen. Für alles andere gibt es die Tipp Funktion, die ich oft genutzt habe. Logisches Denken führt dich in diesem Game eindeutig weiter. Ganz prima gemacht.

Schwerpunkt ist das Suchen, nach so ziemlich allem, natürlich.
Trotz des hohen Schwierigkeitsgrades auch was für Anfänger und die Profis werden hier ihre Freude daran haben.
Klare Empfehlung.

I was expecting a winter-themed game based off the game's name & cover artwork, but after about 1/4 the way through, all of a sudden I'm playing in a caves, swamp & castle during the summer.

Don't get me wrong, this is a stunningly beautiful game, but when I am feeling in the mood for a winter game because it's the dead of winter here in my part of the world, that's what I expect!

A bit misleading in that sense, but still a fun game nonetheless.

The bonus chapter returns to a winter theme, so I was happy about that.

Je ne sais pas trop quoi dire... à part que si Endless Fables : the minotaure's curse
était médiocre, Endless Fables 2 est franchement mauvais
Le scénario est vraiment bancal, avec des réutilisations d'images un peu grosses du premier opus, une mise en scène maladroite... J'ai pas accroché du tout.

Paradoxalement, les puzzles d'abord déjà-vus avant se complexifient et apportent un peu d'originalité dans la deuxième partie. Bon, et le jeu est court.

A murder mystery! With one of my favorite myths, too. This game was pretty, with lots of delightful bones and some surprisingly attractive mythical figures. Standard voice acting, occasionally too close to the microphone but satisfyingly over the top in general. Everyone says "Baldur" differently and most or all of them are incorrect, sometimes comically so. Probably the best light source I've ever put together in a game.

Some hidden collectibles were in the bonus chapter (which is always fine, I was just glad to know I hadn't missed them in the main game).

Minor flaws are mostly silly quibbles. It's pretty funny that a kind man gives you his lucky coin and you use it immediately for something minor and then discard it. Some puzzles are actually too easy, already half solved or not fully scrambled, most pieces just one move away. For instance, I put two pieces into place, and the other four lined up without trying. I put a carving in its setting and… some random rocks tumbled away from an otherwise empty hole? Surely I could have just moved them myself. Up there for "strangest thing to need a key in a hidden object game." There was at least one background music error (in the bonus chapter, but that just made it creepier, so it worked out). Otherwise, no bugs or issues.

Great one from Sunward Studios!

So... I played this one quite a while after finishing the first game, so I don't remember much how it connects to the first story. But seems to be independent from it.

Sunward Studio games are right there next to Big Giant Studios as my favorite ones from Artifex Mundi. I dunno if it's for everyone, but it has the right mix of hidden object parts, puzzles, and story that works for me for this type of game.
The graphics are modern and the mechanics are among the best. For me personally, there are only a few nitpicks when it comes to mechanics that is very similar to Big Giant Studio games too... the morphing objects thing, which I don't care much for, and particularly for Sunward there are a few puzzles that just... frustrates me a bit. The rotating circle puzzles in particular... but they are few and far between, and it's a matter of persistence rather than getting stuck, so no major problems.

After playing a whole bunch of modern time detective ones, this one goes back to that ol' mix of magic, monsters, alchemy, folktale, and for this one Norse Mythology - Odin, Loki, etc.
Bit nonsensical and wacky, but you'll know what to expect if you played a bunch of games in this genre.

Oh, just another minor complaint that has been bugging me in a few of these games - why do some hidden object puzzle games assume people playing this genre knows Astrology, particularly the Zodiac stuff? So weird to get into puzzles to match zodiac sign symbols with it's animals... perhaps it's more common knowledge in the country the game it was developed? xD

Anyways, reccommended! This is a good series overall!

本体低难度+跳过部分小游戏=整体时长2小时，外传半小时。谜题难度不高，小游戏只有少数是纯找东西、难度也不太高，打折入打发时间还是挺好的。

I sadly have to say that after playing Part 1 of Endless Fables, this one was rather disappointing. The riddles were not as enjoyable as in the first and actually caused a lot of frustration instead of being pulled in and motivated to solve them.

The game itself was beautiful and I absolutely adore Point and Click games but I can't recommend this part of the series. Especially since some parts of the game seemed rather confusing and it was hard to figure out what an item was being used for. It felt like it was all over the place. It's an actual shame because the art was stunning.
