Jokes aside, cool idea, well executed, really engaging. It does drag a bit sometimes since you have to type everything out, but the story was interesting enough to keep me going.

Terminé mi primera partida en ingles después de unas cinco horas y media y, siendo sincera, al principio no me atrapó mucho. Sentía ese aburrimiento de point and click y me frustró un poco no poder interactuar con varias cosas. Pero por suerte fue mejorando poco a poco, a medida que me fui metiendo más en la historia y me tomé el tiempo de revisar casi todo lo que se le podia hacer click. Lo que de verdad me enganchó fue mi primera conversación larga con Emily. Tener las playlists de los personajes de fondo fue una vibra increíble, me ayudó muchísimo a meterme en el ambiente y me dejó totalmente atrapada en la trama sin duda es de lo más importante dentro de ese “contenido externo”. Después del primer capítulo, al menos en mi partida, todo empezó a fluir de forma muy natural. De verdad se siente como estar hablando con tus amigos del colegio en los 2000. Actúan como adolescentes un poco tontos, lo cual a veces puede ser medio irritante, pero también es parte del encanto :) Me encantó la forma en la que hablan, súper relajada con emoticones viejos. En general, mi experiencia fue bastante positiva. Sentí que podía ser yo misma al hablar con los personajes. Casi nunca me sentí insatisfecha con las opciones de diálogo; disque lo único era a veces entender la intención detrás de algunas conversaciones más juguetonas o medio pesadas entre amigos al inicio. El final me tomó por sorpresa ya que esperaba un poco más, pero al mismo tiempo deja un espacio muy bueno para una secuela, la cual ya existe y tengo planeado comprar. >:) Recomendaría este juego especialmente a chicos de 14 a 18 años, porque creo que ofrece perspectivas interesantes sobre relaciones, romance y amistad, muy en la onda de la vida social de un estudiante. Al principio pensé que no querría rejugarlo después de cualquier final porque parecía demasiado simple, y no es que sea super complejo, pero la historia me enganchó lo suficiente como para querer seguir explorándola; puede que intente conseguir todos los finales, sobre todo porque me dejó curiosa esa etiqueta de horror.
No es un juego predecible y se siente muy fresco y real. Si tienes tiempo para una historia interactiva, juega Emily is Away <3! :)

Desde que Emily se moestro evitativa con la confrontacion, supe que la relacion podria acabar feo. Yo toda contenta con mi novia ingeniera de gustos musicales basados y tal pero me saca su ineptitud comunicativa y tonterias, que pereza. si hubiera podido, le cortaba antes por minimizar totalmente mis preocupaciones iniciales poniendose hasta defensiva... pero como dice el sabio mat, mano tuve fe y no me arrepiento, hice todo bien, pero eso de dejarme cuckeada en redes es de mala persona y super innecesario, eh! uno por querer confiar justifica esa asquerosidad, tratando de pensar bien de la persona, pero negar como se ve tampoco. Mat es un AMIGO REAL con todas las fokin letras mayusculas, termine queriendo comermelo al final; bien ahi Anna, gozen y sean felices, y si quieren, me les uno 😱

I bought this for the windows wallpaper, and I stayed for the weirdly comforting storyline, so sad for my first outcome, but I hope a second playthru will get me right. Unironically such a raw game, emotionally, aesthetically, spiritually. Really took me back to when I was a little kid playing games on the old windows XP computer (addicting games). Played this primarily during bedtime like 12AM-2AM and it was such a surreal experience. (thought it was lwk gonna be a horror game too LOOOOL) Would recommend this to anyone who wants to get weirdly lost and attached to this story and its characters

This game was super immersive, like the other two games but it just goes to another level, perfectly capturing the feeling of using Facebook which was nostalgic for me. I like that they used more of each character in the story, Matt had a bigger role here and Jeff/Steve/Kelly were more fleshed out as well! Now we just gotta wait for the next game that takes place in Tweeter or Instafam hahah or just leave it as a great trilogy!

Not as good as the first two games, and nothing new either when you compare to the first two (the second was the best, though the first one was interesting at the time for initial impact) The technical aspects are improved in terms of nostalgic immersion in that past world/website links etc, but the storyline is not handled well and one shouldn't have to play the game more than once to have any actual freedom or true impact on the result.

First playthrough was insanely fun! I got so into character that i was getting mad geniunely lol. My only complaint is that the characters are all the same, whether you choose emily or evelyn you go through almost identical conversations (only thing that changes are names and music ig). For that reason i quit my second playthotugh short, it kinda got boring.

This game reminded me of some of the worst times in my life... and I love it for that. I spent hours after my first playthrough trying and trying to make things turn out differently, but, just like in real life, some things just can't be fixed. Heartily recommend this entire series.

This entire trilogy is one of my favorites, and one of my biggest daydreams is a game like this where the characters are more randomized, with more love interest options and each character is more personalized, etc. BUT having said that, this still holds up to this day. I love to have this game going and just soaking in the nostalgia of it all, and trying to relive 2007-2011 or so over and over again lmfao.
This game fully accomplishes what it sets out to do. I just want MORE.

i really really wanted to like this game. i really tried, its exactly something i would like.
i really liked the UI, the design, the character development, it felt very interactive, even down to the "ads" on the sidebars. The character specific playlists, even the dev playlists were so fun and really did a lot for the overall gameplay experience. i think my main upset is, the character ages and the fact that they act their age hahah.
but this game is just having a high school relationship, and it playing out exactly like a high school relationship. and then the game just ends.
my advice for high schoolers that might be reading this, girl, you need to love yourself.
if you feel like your partner is a dirty dog behind your back, have a conversation, and then make a decision about what YOU will do. not what your partner has to do. thats being a bad partner.
tldr, love yourself. learn what boundaries actually are. ("what i will do if this situation happens" NOT "what you have to do to make me feel better")
This game is fun, I enjoyed my first playthrough, but I can't understand why Emily and Evelyn are identical. Great opportunity for a true branching path, but the dialogue is exactly the same. Then I tried to be as passive aggressive as possible and still ended up in the exact same place as first time round. Really fun the first time you play through - second time not so much. Shame, because I got attached to the motley crew of teens.
The best part about playing this game was finally clocking the 2 hours needed and deleting it off of my desktop. Aside from running it in the background I actually gave this game a go and it was super boring. The whole concept of this game is to simulate a Facebook chat from the early 2000’s with friends that don’t exist. 14 bucks for this is a rip off. I understand the concept and I like and appreciate the aesthetic, but the game is so dull, dialogue feels so boring and repetitive, and half of the lingo used wasn’t really present in that time. Idk I’m probably just hating but this is my 2 cents, take this review as you will.

Бывают игры, которые покупаешь не ради игры. Фон профиля в Steam — валюта тщеславия, и Emily is Away <3 обещала мне красивый. За этим и пришёл. Зачем прошёл полностью — вопрос, на который у меня до сих пор нет ответа.
Emily is Away — это симулятор переписки в эпоху, когда мы ещё верили, что статус «онлайн» что-то значит. Эпоха первых соцсетей, романтики через монитор и бесконечного ожидания заветного «печатает...». Для кого-то это машина времени в собственную юность, для кого-то — окно в чужую жизнь. Я оказался во второй категории.
Отдельный квест — отсутствие русского языка. Ни локализации, ни русификатора, ни даже энтузиастов на горизонте. Пришлось проходить с автопереводчиком наперевес, продираясь сквозь подростковый сленг нулевых. Впрочем, английский немного подтянул — уже что-то.
Не мой вайб. Не моя история. То, что здесь происходит, я, видимо, никогда не переживал — или переживал как-то иначе. Игра говорит на языке, который я понимаю, но не чувствую. Как слушать чужую любимую песню: киваешь, но мурашек нет.
Для тех, кто застал эту эпоху изнутри, кто влюблялся в аватарки и ждал сообщений до трёх ночи — здесь наверняка спрятано что-то настоящее. Любителям инди-романтики тоже сойдёт. Мне же остался красивый фон профиля и странное чувство, что я подглядел в чужой дневник.

I really disliked this game. Aesthetically quite cool, but terribly poor writing and design. Unfortunately can't discuss the major flaws without spoiling the game but it's important to know that your choices absolutely do not matter and there is really only 1 storyline/direction + a few really superficially different text 'flavour' changes no matter how it's played. If you really want to know you can check the discussion page. I feel like the game description and tags are misleading, even deceptive.

This is a pretty nostalgic game if you were in high school around 2008 or so. You basically just get to relive some classic, OG facebook drama as an angsty teen again. The one flaw is that I do not like how the endings are gated. It's not enough to ruin the whole experience, but it does feel like a fake and forceful way to add replay value. I can't say more without spoiling anything, but you'll know what I mean when you get to the last chapter. Overall, Emily 3 is still a pretty entertaining story and a good trip down memory lane with all of the references. Recommended.
Also, Mat is a real one.

A really nice step up from the previous games. The presentation feels more modern, but it still keeps that emotional awkwardness the series is known for. The social media layout, the music links and the little interactive details make everything feel surprisingly authentic. I wasn’t expecting how invested I’d get in the conversations, especially with how natural and messy they can be. I didn’t expect to care as much as I did but some conversations felt uncomfortably honest at certain points. The choices feel more personal and heavier this time, and it’s not always obvious what the right response is. It’s a solid evolution of the series and a really satisfying continuation.

Loved it! I wasn't in high school in 2008, but I loved seeing the old Facebook and YouTube. And it was fun to have a pretend relationship; the one I never had in high school (yes, I'm that lame)!
I would recommend this game for the extra things that come along with.

"Emily is Away <3" nella mia umile opinione da giocatrice è un buon prodotto e, tutto sommato, ti intrattiene e fa crescere in te la voglia di conoscere di più i personaggi all'interno della vita della nostra protagonista.
Ho apprezzato davvero tante le chicche in questo gioco e l'interazione anche al di fuori, come il "yootoob" e siti creati appositamente, l'ho trovato geniale e davvero molto utile per l'immersione del giocatore.
I personaggi sono sviluppati bene e mi aggrego con la community nel dichiarare Matt il migliore del gioco!
Se dovessi dare dei pro e contro, sarebbero questi.
PRO:
- Ottima atmosfera, ti riporta davvero ad anni fa e agli amori adolescenziali.
- Bei personaggi, molto bello come mostra anche il rapporto che si sviluppa anche tra di loro oltre che con il nostro personaggio. Soprattutto tra Evelyn e Kelly che ho adorato.
- Tante chicche nascoste che portano ad un'ampia immersività.
- Dialoghi che sanno essere divertenti ed intrattenere.
- Buona resa nel farti empatizzare con i personaggi.
CONTRO:
- Alcuni finali ti lasciano un amaro in bocca, senza davvero darti una fine esatta di com'è andata dopo. (Bad ending di Emily, ti sto fissando)
- Il premere costantemente tasti per rispondere alle chat... inizialmente è divertente, e lo capisco che sia per un'esperienza immersiva ma dopo il terzo capitolo mi stavo chiedendo se la mia tastiera avrebbe retto questo abuso, so sarebbe stata carina anche un'alternativa.
- Può diventare noioso dopo un po' se non abituati al genere.
Principalmente queste sono le mie considerazioni a "caldo". Lo consiglierei a chi piace il genere e per chi vuole fare un bel tuffo nel passato. In complesso è un buon gioco sull'amore adolescenziale ai tempi di facebook, leggero e immersivo che vi darà emozioni.
Finalmente um jogo que me permite reviver o trauma de ser ignorado por uma garota em 2008, mas agora com conquistas na Steam. 10/10, vou chorar no banho.

nothing's better than having an old operating system with full of pixelized nostalgia from your past memories (if you're old enough.) after school coming to your loud-noised computer just to chat with your online buddies or people from your school. going through some romance in your teenage years dealing with both possible crushes.
A visual novel presented as the early days of facebook with most character interactions taking place in direct messages. A game designed to be played twice because (as I understand it) the first playthrough always nets a bad ending. That said I was actually happy with the bad ending I got. It felt like a realistic breakdown of a relationship and made me genuinely sad.
Ao fazer a primeira rota, sem nunca ter contato com o jogo, achei massa. Ok, meu final foi um dos ruins e decidi refazer o jogo em outra rota, com a Evelyn. Ao jogar, vi que o diálogo É O MESMO. As duas não tem personalidades distintas, só ex's ou paixões platônicas por elas. A falta de profundidade na personalidade das duas me fez dar uma nota negativa ao jogo, porque se dependesse de uma rota só, eu gostaria.

My first playthrough, going in totally blind, was actually great with Emily. I ended up with a bad ending, so I decided to replay it on Evelyn’s route. That’s when I realized the dialogue is exactly the same.
The two characters have no distinct personalities; they are just generic exes or crushes. This total lack of depth earned the game a negative review from me. If it were a single-route experience, I would have liked it, but the repetition is a dealbreaker.

É um jogo bom, me lembrou algumas situações que passei com meu primeiro namoro na adolescência kkkkkk.
Só acho meio lento a troca de mensagens e meio chato ter que enviar com enter, talvez se pudesse clicar pra enviar poderia ser mais confortável para algumas pessoas.
