Eliza really surprised me. I didn’t expect a game from 2019 to feel this relevant, but it actually hits very close to what we’re dealing with now, with AI, with mental health, with ethical choices.

This game found me at the right time, because it talks about things I’m struggling with right now. It was really interesting to see what the game thinks about where all of this is going and what the possible outcomes could be. All characters felt real, relatable, empathetic. It really felt like I'm not just dealing with fictional characters, but peeking at someone's work.

It was often painful to see the replies of Eliza during sessions, I almost wanted to talk to the screen, saying "nooo, what are you doing, dumb AI". I never had this urge before with any other game. I mean, it was necessary for the story that you feel that way and it worked exactly how it should. Brilliant!

I also really enjoyed going through different endings and seeing where they lead. I just wish there were more achievements, because it made me want to explore everything. Even after seeing every ending, I still haven’t decided what I would choose if I were Evelyn. It feels like every option makes sense for the story, but at the same time, I feel like none of them really matter. And well, isn't it how Evelyn felt the whole time? Or is it just me projecting?

Simply incredible. This must be one of the most well-written visual novels out there. It's deeply personal, with great and deep characters, yet it still touches on more grandiose subjects. And talking about them, it was shocking to see how accurate some of the "predictions" are for AI (although it's technically not the same thing). Melancholic and weirdly inspiring story about technology, the people who make it, and people it affects.

Good overall, very entertaining that this hit the scene right before ChatGPT and Co. barged into the scene IRL. It got a lot of stuff right, but it completely missed a lot of things as well.

Pacing is a bit slow, and it can get a bit... Well, the game dumbs things down for you too much at times. But still interesting, and a bit emotional at times as well.

This is a visual novel that requires you to occasionally make a "choice" to progress, but has no end goal. It's a commentary on how AI could possibly help or harm humanity at its core. The voice acting is well done, and the art is cool (although no animations), but it isn't very engaging. I would skip it, or only buy it on sale.

本作は単なるお仕事アドベンチャーではない。AIというテクノロジーが、いかにして人間の内面に侵食していくかを描いた社会派ドラマだ。特筆すべきは、本作が鳴らす現代社会への警鐘だろう。AIによるカウンセリングは効率的で、一見すると救いのように見える。しかしその本質は、個人の感情や多様な考え方を画一的なデータへと還元し、システムにとって都合の良い方向へと誘導する「管理社会」の側面を孕んでいる。

それは一部の国で実装されている「社会信用システム」のように、個人の尊厳よりも社会の最適化を優先する思想へと繋がりかねない。AIに管理される人々をマクロな視点で俯瞰し、テクノロジーの進化が「心の多様性」を喪失させるリスクを描ききった点は、今の時代にこそプレイされるべき意義深いテーマと言える。

・個人の悩みを通して、AIに管理・最適化されていく社会構造をマクロな視点で描く脚本の鋭さ。
・落ち着いたBGMと、寒色系で統一されたアートワークが醸し出す、知的でクールな雰囲気。

【BAD】
・ゲームとしては全体的に平板な作りで、テキストを読み進めるだけのアクティブさに欠ける展開。
・内包するメッセージ性は極めて強いものの、ストーリー自体の起伏は乏しく、エンタメとしては凡庸に感じられる部分がある。

Hra, která se bude líbit všem lidem, kteří v sobě mají empatii, které alespoň trochu zajímá psychologie a kteří nejsou lhostejní k fenoménu AI (ať už tak, či onak). Celá hra je vlastně cesta - cesta, na které sbíráte informace, abyste na jejím konci dospěli k finálnímu rozhodnutí, které je vlastně uvědoměním si toho, jakým jste člověkem. Opravdu jsem nečekal, že to bude až tak dobré.

I hate life. Well, more exactly, I hate that a pre-ChatGPT game managed to explain the problematic of AI therapy better than today's so-called "AI experts".
The game itself follows Evelyn, a character who is at first so depressingly unambitious that she kinda reminds you of yourself. She takes on this job as a proxy and her only job is to read the prompts and provide a human touch to the Eliza system. As the story progresses, you discover Evelyn's past and ponder about her future.
The game comments on the effects of AI as a source of therapy for people — a system as such cannot provide personalised regimes as instead of recognising problematic patterns and behaviour in people, it reflects people's sentences and replies with cookie-cutter suggestions. While no specialised AI therapy system has been implemented in the world today (that I know of), it is only a matter of time. Because of that, I find that everyone should give Eliza a go to ponder about the questions it is asking — is it ethical to replace psychologists, a profession in which the human element is vital to combat inately human feelings such as loneliness and isolation (amongst others), with a machine?

Эта игра явно не для каждого, но тем не менее, она поднимает важные вопросы касательно будущего человечества и использование искусственного интеллекта. Стоит ли идти вперед человечеству в освоении ИИ, слиться с ним в одно целое, в сингулярность или стоит уйти в искусственную реальность сон где нет боли и страданий? Или все же главную роль играет воля к жизни и стремление идти вперед самому человеку несмотря ни на что? Игра ставит вопрос о выборе каждым человеком своего пути и жизненной цели. Играя в этот проект, осознаешь , что жизнь это не записанный видеофильм, где ты играешь свою роль в рамках, которые ты не можешь изменить, на самом деле она множество развилок и путей, один из которых выбирает человек. Игра безусловно поднимает философские вопросы современности, о месте человека в современном мире, о выборе человека, о границах допустимого ИИ и искусственной виртуальной реальности. Оцениваю на твердую четыре, после получения всех концовок уже играть не интересно. Но тем не менее рекомендую, для тех , кто может понять это произведение философски.

A very nicely done story, mostly about broken people trying to make sense of and get by in a broken world. Many of the themes it explores feel very relevant today, and I appreciated that the game never tries to offer a single “correct” answer to the complicated questions it asks.
What stayed with me, even days after finishing the game, were the individual stories and struggles of the clients you meet along the way. They’re all incredibly well written, and some of them hit very close to home.
I also really enjoyed the overly clean visual style, which surprised me, as that’s usually not quite my cup of tea. But it worked extremely well with the overall vibe of the game.

If you’re looking for a well-crafted, thoughtful story that gives you a lot to think about, you really can’t go wrong with this one.

Eliza — чистой воды простая визуальная новелла. Но то, на какой теме завернули эту новеллу 😩 Хотите 6 часов почитать и порассуждать на тему психического и психологического здоровья, влияния ИИ на мир и мотивах людей, кто внедряют технологии в психологию и психотерапию? Или о том, чтобы превратить ИИ в подобие, а ещё лучше — в улучшенную версию человеческого мозга? Well, good luck with that ♥♥♥♥.

Не буду тут заниматься пересказыванием сути, сюжета и всего вот этого (описания в Стиме не просто так написаны).

Скажу, что я тут все стадии принятия словила.

И то, насколько однотипно и неразборчиво Элиза (а так зовут нашу ИИ-программу-психолога) работала с проблемами людьми и давала советы. «Я вам посоветую поиграть в VR-штуку в вашем телефоне/пк и наглотаться таблеток. До свидания!».
И то, как и какое прошлое ГГ нам раскрыли походу сюжета.
И мотивы, даже мотивацию я бы сказала, некоторых персонажей (Рейнер, ты говнюк. Сорена просто по-человечески очень жаль).
И отношения между ГГ и Рэй (я болела за них, честно), ГГ и Норой (вайб лучших подружек прям ДА) (мы любим женщин в этом доме).
И выборы ближе к концу игры, которые заставили подумать и выбрать лучший исход.

И всё это наполнено меланхоличной музыкой, невероятной озвучкой 😩 красивой картинкой и взрослой главной героиней, которая и сама рефлексирует на своих ошибках и решениях в прошлом. Которая пытается найти лучший исход, но не для самой, а для людей.

Перед нам поставили множество вопросов. И два из них это: способен ли ИИ заменить человека? И что мы все можем сделать для привнесения в этот мир счастья и уменьшения человеческих страданий?

Ответов на эти вопросы я не знаю. Возможно, пора задуматься.

Eliza feels rather unusual for Zachtronic's lineup of games as it's primarily a visual novel first compared to the usual engineering challenges games that they're known for. (That and their usual way of sneaking in different takes on solitare within each entry,)

One might even wonder if it's games like these that caused the developers to step away from Zachtronics and move on with Coincidence instead, as they wouldn't be bound to the expectations put onto 'Zachlikes'.

Nevertheless none of this serves to undermine the somewhat brief but qualitative breath of fresh air that Eliza brings along.

Not just as a game but moreso the story that it's bringing along to it's audience, especially as it's handling of topics like large language models feels rather topical and up to date.
One would almost be convinced that the writing was produced current day, not in the late 2010's.

And without going into the details, it's written in a way such that it seemingly can strike a chord with almost anyone on a deeper emotional level.
It's (if you're willing to play along) relatively easy to project yourself onto these characters, to care about their struggles while also being able to find eerily similar aspects of their flaws and qualities within yourself.

I've been hit with what's probably the worst case of burnout throughout my entire life, from making slow progress throughout the start of the year until now where I'm absolutely rusted shut and cannot find even a spark of energy to complete what is essentially the home stretch of finishing my already heavily postponed studies.

As a software development student who tends to steer clear from LLMs (especially when learning the essentials yourself is crucial) while simultaneously caring about silly stuff like morals and what not (crazy, I know) it's already hard to see a proper future for myself and thus this burnout is just the perfect heavily expired icing on a rotten cake, though maybe I'm just being too dramatic or pessimistic.

Either way, there's not a moment while playing the game where I'm not able to connect to the game.
In a weird way it feels like home, everything is so familliar in an unfamilliar way.
And being able to listen to the problems of others in different situations, but especially to those in identical situations, is quite liberating and helps to put a new perspective on things.

Almost ironic, even, with how the story unfolds.
It's indeed like looking into a reflection, but with the addition of enough noise to not fall into an echo chamber.

To me, I feel like it has the potential to serve as a beacon of hope for a brighter future for myself.
But it just as easily could end up having no real impact on the bigger picture, like most things in life.

I don't know honestly, it's 2:10 AM as of writing this and I might be rambling on a bit.
What I do know is that, in a way, Eliza means a lot to me, and I hope it will mean a lot for you as well.

Eliza，给我很大惊喜的一部vn。惊喜之一是这难以想象居然是充满了理科感的Zachtronics制作组产出的作品。求你们多做点，爱看。惊喜之二在于玩到一半莫名觉得Eliza某种意义上和Deconstructeam的作品有共通（红弦俱乐部/宇宙之轮）尤其是Many Nights a Whisper，我持续被此类作品吸引着，但我无法很好的表述这种感觉。借用社区其他玩家的一句话：它不是展现某种价值观去训导观众，而是让你自己去审视你认为你的逻辑会造就什么样的世界。这是种鼓励冷峻的自省的魅力。
游戏前期较为线性，仅在最后一章的最后一幕做出了结局抉择，和沉没意志差不多。4+1个选择都看完了，[spoiler] 最喜欢的还是抛下一切，其次是成为DJ。 [/spoiler] 第六章赞爆了。
最后：zach组给此部作品设置的唯一1个成就是完成一局最高难度日本花札小游戏。在其他作品里小游戏都设置了1/10/100win成就，可见也是为vn受众做出了妥协，十分贴心（笑）

作为视觉小说有8分。

与其说是对AI数据收集侵犯个人隐私的担忧，和对现代生活的心理问题的思考，这个游戏倒不如说是对于自我意义的一次探索。
玩到最后会发现，[spoiler] 真正决定结局的选择只存在于最后一次选择。看似之前的选项对于最终的结局毫无影响[/spoiler]，但实际上每次做的选择都在反应出玩家的个性。有些评价会说女主在整个故事里都非常迷茫，不知道要干什么，不知道自己的意义，本质上是把选择权交给了玩家，让玩家来根据自己的价值观替女主选择。

最后的结局也分别对应玩家的性格。
[*]回到原公司给雷内打工的结局，对应的是绝对的理性和自我价值观的散失。既然AI一定会兴起，那么就算她不做，别人也会做，人类的隐私一定会被侵犯，被AI算法统治，既然反抗不了结局，干脆就加入。
[*]去原主管的创业公司的结局，对应的是梦想，想要从根源上消除人类的痛苦。而且过于理想主义，这种类似黑客帝国的技术对于人类的破坏性远远比Eliza来的要强。
[*]当Ezlia代理，代表的是现实和有条件的妥协。既承认社会不完美，公司和技术不完美，但是自己只管尽自己所能改变世界。
[*]和原同事Nora一起玩音乐，代表是自由主义和反叛的精神，f*ck the world。
[*]选择离开，是一种自我价值的探寻。

结合整个剧情来看，女主最不应该选择的就是重新给原老板雷内打工，开发超人工智能。
首选，雷内应该是整个游戏里最理性，最无情感和同理心的人。他有一套自己的价值观，对他来说没有利用价值的人他都不会正眼瞧一下。女主对他来说只不过是在人工智能领域领跑和掌控权力的一个棋子而已。
以及他的公司已经越来越臃肿，他自己脱离一线已经很久了，公司已经无法有真正的创新。Eliza原本只是女主开发出来一个聆听系统，把人的话反向送回去，但是却被他包装了AI心理治疗，而游戏过程也能看出来这个AI心理治疗到底有什么用；他设想的强人工智能只是采集足够多的数据，能模拟人的情感，而不是真正有人的灵魂。网上有句话说“世界就是一个巨大的草台班子”，用在这公司上再正确不过。想要在这样的公司上班，在内部改变这个世界，不亚于与虎谋皮。

Eliza提供的所谓的AI心理治疗服务，本质上就是一群人付不起心理医生的费用，又想要找一个人能把自己心里话讲出来而已。讲不出自己的心里话一直憋着，能不出心理疾病么？但是话说回来，为什么会有这么多人找不到能够讲心里话的对象，宁可花钱对着AI讲？这才是这个游戏里最觉得可悲的地方。

有三种立场在游戏的开篇就如洪水般涌向伊芙琳：
1.Eliza只是开始，有个智能体超越人类的时代在慢慢靠近；
2.Eliza在未来能够消除所有负面情绪，创造极乐世界；
3.不要压抑生来就具有的任何情感，也许艺术是很好的载体。
三者极度分裂，但最初的Eliza是什么样的？

最后一章是回忆，与总在别人口中被提及的达米尔有关，也是伊芙琳、诺拉、达米尔三人大学时的海边畅谈，也是Eliza概念被孕育的地方：有这么一个程序，人们会愿意将自己的烦恼全盘托出，与程序交谈像是在照镜子，能够暂时放下生活中的焦虑并审视自己的行为和内心，这是最原始和纯粹的Eliza，没有想要成为新物种的野心，也非支配人类情感的乌托邦。伊芙琳在表示为Holiday（交不起房租的孤寡老人，来到Eliza只为了找人倾诉）爱莫能助的当天有这么一段心声：“风让我感觉事物在起变化，或是在变化。”（游戏里弹出这句话的时候，现实的窗帘正好被风吹得变形，这是入秋的第一天，恍惚间这几年自己的各种焦虑重现脑海，然而大部分都被我回避了），Eliza在雷内的管理下发展了三年，掌握着最顶尖技术的同时还因名声在外，收录了庞大的用户数据，表面上的目的是为了所有人排忧解难，实则夹杂着对权力的渴望，无意识地酝酿着垄断。

游戏的倒数第二章是伊芙琳独自在桥上为未来做决策，我选了抛下一切。人生最辉煌的是什么时候？可能是提出Eliza的那个微醺的夜晚，可能是意气风发走出校园时意识到再也不会回来了，可能是出生后发出啼哭的那一刻……总之早已过了，伊芙琳是这样，我也一样。此时的我和伊芙琳相差十岁，都在寻找自己的去处，都做好了新起一章的准备；伊芙琳即将前往日本，Eliza的走向对她来说已经不重要了，或许在今后她会看见Eliza的新闻报导，那时的她只是躺在沙发上，没有找到未曾谋面的父亲，干回了图书馆的工作，有更多闲时探索其他领域。而我在伊芙琳第一次作为客户体验Eliza程序时，系统一如既往地问出“想象一下你能拥有某件想要的事物，你想要什么？”时，问句伴随着满满一列的选项穿透了屏幕直达我的内心，我意识到这就是Eliza，是倾听者也是镜子，这也是整个游戏的精妙所在：当伊芙琳的言行和想法都由玩家来选，那么当下坐在Eliza系统面前反思的客户是伊芙琳还是自己呢？

总之是一部简短的视觉小说，选项的表达略有不足，对话文本写得不错，结构的安排也很有意思。起初被封面静谧的风格吸引了，游戏内的画面表现也没让我失望。游戏内自带一个蛮好玩的纸牌游戏，6小时的时长里怕是有1小时都在玩牌了……o.0

I'm very happy with this game.
I was unable to put it down once I started playing, so I didn't.
The voice acting is really great, the art is simple and fitting for the vibe, and even though dialogue choices don't matter, the choice you make at the end does and that's where you get your ending.
Essentially, this story is a build up. A build up of different characters with different angles and ideas for how the world should work, and you kind of just float and listen until the end where you choose who you want to align with.
There isn't necessarily a bad ending, just different endings.
It was a great game that makes you think and take a look at AI now and how it effects us. I'm glad I played this.

The conversation of modern AI trained on LLMs have slightly outpaced the aspirations of the story told in this game. I don't believe that affects the value of things being asked here, the questions I have now about AI are just more specific to where it is in 2025 versus what Zachtronics was thinking it might become back in 2019.

Still, I like the writing for Eliza a lot. The perspectives represented are given nuance and genuinely sympathetic perspectives (except maybe Rainer). The story does read like a thought experiment where ideologies are assigned characters rather than the characters with naturally developed ideologies. In practice though, it didn’t take away from my investment, probably because of how well the story handles its own uncertainty on the topic.

Many people playing will see themselves, or someone they know, in the Eliza therapy patients. For those of us that do, the game I think rightfully points out that the answer to any complex personal conflict is rarely solely inside the individual. While Evelyn’s “experiment” is reckless, the fact that Evelyn talks to people and expands her perspective on what life can be is wonderful.

Also that was some tasty Solitaire. At least half of my playtime was on that minigame.

在玩eliza时领悟到一个事情，女主（我的选择）反问着掺入ai的棋局中有意义吗，得到的回答是：全世界都在研究这个，这不仅关乎意义，更是权利，掌控。把新的技术掌握在自己手里，比隐私泄漏在别人那里要强。……确实可以解释人为什么永远有野心，因为主动出击即最好的防守..？
结局的选择：很难说我应该选择哪一方，一个是完美的，看似没有任何不良嗜好的eliza精英大公司老板，准备利用eliza掌握的来访者数据驯化出深度理解人类的有“意识”的ai（这必然是在人类世界上重要的举措，他不做也会有其他人做，我的加入或许可以领导一切不会太邪恶，危险的技术但掌握在自己手里..）；
一个是共同创造eliza的前同事，自己也身处痛苦中，酗酒，情感问题…打算创业以“技术”梦干预人类的痛苦，去抹掉痛苦。（这里打动我的反而是他的悲痛内核，他是这样的人，岌岌可危。然而世界上的痛苦很多不是能用梦境来解决的，尤其是贫穷，在咨询他人中，我能看到她们经历的“家庭”“事业”“作为人的责任”“贫穷”….你又能怎么给他们标准答案呢……只是通过梦境让人变乐观，却好像与其土壤不符了？我也不知道，大概我也是身处于这里的人，我觉得….痛苦与幸福是绑定的。人在痛苦中才能对比出幸福，但我实在不好说，因为身处抑郁时，确实人被情绪掌控了。骑车时想到…偶尔的痛苦，竟然让我有了很多诗性。不得不说，抑郁确实是文艺的土壤。因此想到人确实要美化艺术，因为艺术往往是我们在痛苦时所作的挣扎，即使只是精神上。但，承认艺术的必要，才能体现自己在苦难中依然没有脱身但依然有活着的价值。….）
还有其他选项，但我觉得玩这个游戏，还是就在这两个中选择吧。那就后者吧，帮帮这个自己也身处泥沼的人。
同样的，eliza这个游戏的女主伊芙琳，竟让我觉得很像自己…
这个游戏的文本和对未来科技的讨论真的体现出了创作者的思考（包含了大部分此刻大家对未来技术发展的态度）游戏玩法就是视觉小说所以有时会枯燥，但文本确实很深入。以及重要的是那个牌很好玩…全网搜不到，日本的什么牌？下次上线专门玩牌去。

Eliza is a game that feels shocking relevant to play in 2025. Of course, GAI and LLM technologies existed well-before this game's release, but I wonder if the developers/writers knew just how accurate their representation of Eliza as an AI counseling program would be.

This is a visual novel that mostly exists to let you experience a fairly linear story. Although there are choices, many of them won't have an "impact" outside of how they might introduce you to different dialogue trees. The biggest choices come towards the end of the story. This isn't a game that's about finding the "good" or "bad" ending. It's just about experiencing Evelyn's life and finding out which ending seems the best for you.

The voice acting and art in this game does a great job at making it feel grounded in reality. All of the VAs really sold it, especially during the counseling sessions. Hearing their "pain" made some of the sessions quite tense to listen through. As a bonus, since the game is fully voice-acted outside of some bits of narration, you can sit back and enjoy this game with a snack and a drink and play it on auto-mode. That's how I did it, and I liked how it gave me the ability to just passively listen to what was happening and really engage with the ideas at play.

Eliza isn't a game that is going to give you a solid conclusion. It doesn't take a strong stance, but rather gives the player a host of different perspective to get them thinking. There's a lot of subtle emotional moments that can come across through single lines of dialogue, texts, or even just some of the subtler implications about certain characters that don't get fully explored. It's a nice, shorter visual novel that gives you just enough to sink your teeth in, but then it expects you to come to your own conclusions. Given how polarized things can get in terms of technology in the future, I appreciate a game that takes a very nuanced look at this topic.

So impressed with how this game captured the corporate fanaticism over developing AGI. It's amazing they were able to tell this kind of story back in 2019! It feels almost prophetic. Also, the voice acting is so so well done.

I chose the Nora ending first time around. I'm simultaneously the most pleased with it and a little disappointed. I WANT MORE NORA AND EVELYN

I like how the story is framed too. Like it's this false binary pushed onto Eveleyn between two awful futures. And the only way out of it is not to participate. There isn't an option to come back to Skandha and prevent the AGI future, nor is there a way to convince Soren not to medicate away Humanity's pain with direct stimulation. In my mind, both of these futures happen, with or without Evelyn.

I'll probably replay this game at some point. I had a big gap in playing between the first and the second half of the game, and I'd like to revisit the beginning knowing what I know now. I still feel like I missed some stuff regarding what happened in the past with Damien, and why the original Eliza division of Skanda left.

The therapist ending was really sweet too, seeing how breaking free of the proxy script in the beginning of the game helped Darren. Even though Rae kind of gives me the creeps, I think its one of the two "good" endings.

Ever thought about what therapy with an AI might actually feel like? In 2025, it’s not that wild an idea, but when the game Eliza dropped back in 2019, it probably was pretty futuristic. Here’s the twist: instead of chatting to a computer screen, you sit across from a real person, a proxy, who reads the AI’s responses to you.

Eliza, the AI therapist, goes beyond small talk. It checks parameters such as your heart rate, reads your body temperature, analyzes the stress in your voice, and runs some sentiment analysis on top of that. It’s kind of wild how much it picks up on, and you start to wonder: are these digital “observations” actually sharper than what a human therapist could notice, just because a machine can measure so much detail while juggling so many tasks at once?

The name Eliza got me pondering too (classic overthinker move). It’s usually a female name, right? So, were there any male proxies in the game? Maybe I missed that path, but I only ran into women.

Anyhow, you play the game as the main character, Evelyn, the proxy who also developed the therapy bot, Eliza.

The game does not give you much agency in your choices and makes you think about issues such as privacy, ethics, and consciousness.

If those questions get your gears turning and you haven’t studied psychology or cognitive science, Eliza is well worth a playthrough. But if you have a background in those fields, don’t expect groundbreaking depth. It might feel a bit basic (Full disclosure, there were multiple moments where my attention drifted). Furthermore, Evelyn herself is written as deeply indecisive and weighed down by sadness and the art style leans into that mood: dark. That’s not really my thing, but hey, totally subjective.

One huge highlight: the voice acting. I played in English and the actors absolutely nailed the intonations and pauses; super professional and made the experience feel all the more authentic.

Overall, I recommend this game, though it is not my favorite visual novel.

Leider nicht wirklich top. Es ist weniger ein Spiel als eine Geschichte. Leider muss man sich mühselig durchklicken. Könnte man sich hier zurücklehnen und müsste nicht nach jedem Satz einmal mit der Maus klicken, wäre es ja sogar ganz nett. Aber so ist es ziemlich anstrengend und da bei leider mäßig interessanten oder zum Spielgeschehen beitragenden Monologen.
Da das ganze Spiel aber darauf aufbaut, muss ich leider den Daumen runter geben.

这个游戏让我想了很多，多到不知道从何说起。
AI心理咨询已经不再具有前瞻性，这让设定变得没那么新鲜的同时，更有现实意义。

从Eliza在剧情中的作用、故事的发展来看，我觉得创作者有些保守。必须得说，来访者都很有特点，台词写得也很漂亮，可惜所有的故事线都是点到为止，让我产生遗憾，为什么不继续深入呢？包括主角身边的人物，总让我有关系刚开始有深度、故事进度条却终止的感受。

从心理学意义上来看，作为一个需要心理咨询师又支持AI进行这一工作的人而言，我没有充分理解这些来访者选择Eliza的理由，因此整个剧本在我看来，都是为了达成剧本目标而产生人物行动，他们都是为了说出编剧的“漂亮台词”而来。Eliza处理来访者的问题非常粗暴和草率，聆听、推荐APP以及尝试开药（哦当然，现实中也很多这种情况），这也正是我讨厌去找另一个人类给我看病的原因。1，去求医这个行为本身，就是一种能量消耗；2，表达感受也需要能量支持；3，Eliza的模式化应对依然是机械的，忽视个体差异的。基于此，后续女主的反叛是想推翻还是优化，处理得也很温和无力。她自己也来找Eliza体验了，但后续的剧情里，我没有看到一个真正跳脱出命运框架的选项，最终结局在我看来也非常消极。
在游戏的某个阶段，我心底重现了一次“去看病结果病得更重”的情况。

说不清楚，游戏有一种一潭死水的气质。并不能说我不喜欢，毕竟我还是选择了推荐，其中一些讨论还是有意义的。

Eliza is a great experience which I stumbled upon randomly after it was a long time in my backlog and there may be some bias having not played many VNs before but this resonated with me greatly.

Even though it may seem like a typical "anti big corporations" story it really is more founded than that with multiple angles and decisions with characters that all just are well established.

If a work can give me the feeling that characters don't just exist to advance the story but with or without the players involvement and enhance the decision making by contributing to being invested in their story is just good writing, so hats off to you.

The setting is great and has soothing background music to fit the atmosphere and 1 playthrough on my side clocked in 5 hours which for me is the perfect length. Should the story get overwhelming you can boot up relaxing apps on the phone to just unwind and reflect on your current thoughts or enjoying some rounds of solitaire. If this sounds appealing I can just recommend to try this and enjoy the experience.

Something which deserves a special praise in my book despite the already positive points form above is following:

It is refreshing to see a modern game that is made with confidence to quality and a specific vision and not relying on cheap tactics to inflate the playtime like achievements for completionists or blowing up the word count which ultimately leads to overstaying the welcome and being accessible to a wide array of stores (GOG, itch.io, Steam) for now and in the future.

It is an optimized singleplayer experience (as in fully offline as it should be) without alerting my firewall a single time to try and collect any data, which goes against the current standard in the gaming industry that I very much appreciate.

All in all this game just is what it is, a software with no ulterior motive trying to give you a great time and made me curious to check other works from this developer to support this approach.

솔직히 말씀드리자면 저는 이 게임을 어떻게 제 라이브러리에 넣게 되었는 지 몰라요. 아마 험블 번들 무언가에 포함되어있지 않았을까 어렴풋이 짐작하고 있어요; 상점 페이지를 게임 다 끝내고 처음 들어가보았을 정도니까요. 네, 저는 이 게임이 대체 무슨 내용인지 조금도 모르고, 그저 스팀덱 플래티넘이길래 집밖에서 시간 보내는 용도로 플레이에 들어갔답니다. 그런데 와우, 이런 감정의 눈사태를 준비했을 줄이야...

이제는 온 사방에 무의미할 정도로 판치고 있는 생성형 AI을 유행 몇넌 전에 다루어 이것이 옳은가 의문을 미리 던진 그런 작품이러고 볼 수 있어요. 옛날 옛적부터 인공지능에 대한 비판 내지 경계를 담습하는 내용처럼 보일 수 있지만, 이 작품은 그런 거창함은 접어두고 현재(2025년) 시점에서 실제로 쓰이는 챗봇 알고리즘의 공허함을 그 대리인(챗봇의 내용을 기반으로 대면상담하는 역할)의 시점에서 그리면서 그 괴리감을 극대화했다고나 할까요. 스포일러로 이야기를 진행하면서 드러나는 배경 설정이 더 있지만 이 담론을 게임화를 위해 해치기는 커녕 오히려 고뇌에 양념을 더욱 더욱 치는 느낌이라 참 흥미진진했어요.

이 게임은 텍스트 기반 어드벤처...소위 미연시 같은 포맷을 쓰고 있어요. 주인공을 포함해 주요 등장인물이 서로의 비전과 고민을 품고, 서로를 공격하던지 설득하던지 하는 내용이 바탕이에요. 도중 선택지가 주어지긴 하는데, 분명 차이가 도드라져 보여도 결국 결말까지 딱히 영향을 끼치지 않는 점이 편안하지만 아쉬운 측면이었답니다. 외국에선 illusion of choices라고 부르는데, 텔테일의 워킹 데드로 우리 나라에서도 '~는 기억할 것입니다'라는 표현이 반어적으로 유행을 했었죠? 이 게임도 그런 느낌으로 결말을 짓게 되어 허무하게 느껴질 수도 있어요. 다만, 작중 전개 자체가 상당히 정적이다 보니 모든 정보를 얻은 플레이어의 의도대로 결말을 결정하는 게 더 적절하다는 어울리는 느낌도 들고, 게임 구성이란 게 하나의 답만 있는 건 아닌 것 같아요.

배경과 일러스트는 스타일을 챙긴다기보다는 적절한 현실감을 염두에 두고 퀄리티 높게 준비되어 있어요. 딱 하나 아쉬웠던 건 AI 챗봇 대리인 시점에서 얻는 정보값이 게임플레이에 영향이 있을 줄 알았는데 그냥 장식이었다 정도. 게다가 풀 보이스로 더빙되어 텍스트 어드벤처나 다름없음에도 활기를 살렸어요. 거의 모든 등장인물들이 보이는 느낌으로 더빙이 잘 되었고, 주인공도 설정 자체가 영혼 빠진 사람이라 기력없는 발성이 오히려 어울렸달까요. 음향이나 음악도 상당히 세심하게 조율된지라 이 게임의 차분한 듯 불안한 분위기에 걸맞았다고 생각해요.

마치 고철 주우러 갔다가 최고급 구리 광맥을 발견한 느낌의 게임이었어요. 영어가 된다면 한번 플레이해 볼 가치가 충분하다고 생각해요. 특히나, 온갖 AI가 우리 인간성을 상품화하여 노리는 지금 시대엔 말이죠.

-Ana karakterin, en yakın arkadaşıyla olan diyaloglarına pek ısınamadım. Yan karakterler, farklı farklı idealizmleri destekliyor ama hikâye kısa olduğu için fazla derinine inilemiyor.
-Benim en büyük sorunum, sonunda yapmamız gereken seçimdi. Hikâye boyunca, ana karakterimizin konuşmalarından da esinlenerek belli bir fikre yönelmiştim. O da sizi biraz oraya itiyordu zaten. Sonunda beş farklı alternatif sunulmasına rağmen, hiçbir seçeneğe kendimi yakın hissetmedim. Bu durum bir eksi sayılabilir ama daha çok kişisel bir mesele. Belki siz ısınırsınız.

Esperé un poco más de este juego por las valoraciones que tenía... la verdad es que la historia ha sido un poco floja, dejando muchos cabos sueltos, no me ha terminado de enganchar. Es un poco "sofocante" incluso jugarlo, ya que la narrativa de los personajes y el ambiente está centrado en la falta de autoestima, negatividad, culpa... bastante flojos y sin chispa.
Aunque imagino que la idea era lanzar una reflexión acerca del impacto que causaría el uso de la IA en la sociedad en temas de bienestar mental, no he visto que se haya encauzado hacia esa dirección. Al terminarlo, me ha dejado la sensación de que solo he "pasado el rato".

This game means quite a lot for me, I played through this game during a very difficult time. I felt so drawn to the ELIZA psychotherapist background, the melancholic atmosphere, and to Evelyn herself and her story. The concept of the personal struggle, juxtaposed with the interactions you have with the characters throughout the game, while a fair share of sad moments mind you, was very heartwarming and left me at the end looking back at not only a nice story I could relate to in some way, but also my feeling of personal wonder towards the original ELIZA script from the 60s. I love this part of computer history, and I'm really glad I was able to enjoy a sweet story based off it. I feel I'm admittedly biased because of the relevance I felt it had to my own life when I played it, but I will always hold this neat little story close.

I'm thankful this game was created, everyone did an amazing job making it :)

It is still so weird that Zachtronics made this. If I played this when it released I probably would've thought it far fetched to see people latch on to an "AI" chatbot that just reflects what you tell it back in the form of a question. But playing it today in a world where somehow people very much do that, Eliza manages to feel much more of this moment than I expected.

Also, play the Kabufuda Solitaire minigame. It's good!!

Eliza is a harbinger of the hype-driven AI bubble and its societal implications, and essentially a therapy session for emotionally stunted tech enthusiasts. It's a visual novel. As is standard for western visual novels, it tries to provide some illusion of choice throughout, but all choices collapse back into a single thread. There is a single real choice at the end, with maybe 7 different endings.

I chose what seemed the obvious canonical ending ([spoiler]becoming an actual therapist[/spoiler]) and watched the rest on YouTube. One was acceptable but contradicted the theme a bit ([spoiler]romance with Nora[/spoiler]). One was a complete contradiction of the theme ([spoiler]taking over the Eliza project[/spoiler]). The rest weren't memorable.

Eliza has a very interesting concept regarding AI and how it can be utilized but also pose certain danger towards certain things. Eliza, as an AI counselor, felt hollow despite being voiced by a human proxy just like AI art tends to feel - hollow and lifeless. Following a pattern in every session, Eliza doesn't seem to be truly helpful to those who use her as a "one size fits all" doesn't work with something like therapy. It's an interesting look into how it might look like in the future if we inevitably end up there.

Choices don't really change much until near the end, but if you like visual novels, technology, and a more chill-like story where choices don't make or break you, I think Eliza is worth a try. The Kabufuda Solitaire was also quite fun to play.

This game seems more relevant today than it was when first published.

The rise of AI, with its blurry mix of danger and opportunities and the ever-increasing power gained by egotistical, narcisistic tech pseudo-gurus makes this game more a mirror about present times and less a work of fiction.

I definitely enjoyed it, it truly pulls the strings of empathy, sense of belonging and sense of purpose

I'm not a fan of visual novel, but this one is different, specially if you are into tech.

The fact that the choices have no impact until the last chapter could be a negative point, and the ending could be a little more complete (even if a DLC is needed).

The characters and the soundtrack are simply wonderful.

Мне понравилась Eliza, хотя я понимаю, почему некоторым она пришлась не по душе. Это типичная визуальная новелла, где нужно просто читать текст. Время от времени выбирать варианты ответов в диалогах. Всё. В игре практически нет геймплея, поэтому не стоит ждать какого-то экшена. Здесь есть только пасьянс :D. Сюжет игры затрагивает темы искусственного интеллекта и психического здоровья, что совсем не так далеко от реальности, в которой мы с вами живем сейчас. Рисовка очень приятная. Любителям жанра рекомендую.

Its a really good story and a polished game, the subject matter is interesting and it brings up a lot of very good questions. I think a lot of people should experience this game, its really a special thing.

However, the biggest negative and the thing that soured my experience at the end is that the illusion on choice in this game makes it a huge disservice and I think it even subtracts from the point the game is trying to make. Choices do not matter in any meaning full way. You just pick a choice, see its immediate effects and its otherwise irrelevant. And I understand its somewhat necessary to not have a million huge branch of different things to account for but even the big decisions and the big stuff does not matter at all. I took my time carefully consider every decision, cultivating my different relationships to the different characters and this game just kinda didn't care and that soured my experience.

The other sticking point is that a lot of the things that happen during the story don't have any real payoff. We don't get to see what happened to the people we served as proxy for, we don't get to see how our final decision impacts the life of the rest of the characters or the ramifications of our decision in the world. I was specially sad since one of the characters (Rae) asks you earlier in the game something along the lines of "what ever you end up choosing, just keep in touch ok?" and your friend Nora also has a similar line and we can chose to be "absolutely! I value your friendship" or "idk, might be busy, we'll see" does any of that matters? Nope. Do we see if we hang out again with Rae? nope. What about Nora? Unless you pick her ending, no.

This game did a terrific job making me care about all this people and then by the end it stabbed me in the back and whispered in my ear "surely you didn't care about any of them, right? You don't need to know how they are doing"

If I wanted to follow a story that I have no influence over at all, I would read a book. Or watch a movie. And still I would have more fun than playing this.
Made it to chapter 4 and speed-clicked through it. Not going to play the rest.

I like it when developers go out of their way and do different projects. In that way, I'm glad Eliza was made, but it just didn't land for me. I've played and enjoyed (and often failed at) other Zachtronics games, and I knew what I was getting into when I bought this one on sale. It's not a puzzle game by any stretch (solitaire notwithstanding), it's a pure visual novel.

Visual novels are already not my style of game, but I decided to try going into it with an open mind. Unfortunately, what I found here was... just okay. Nothing I can really recommend spending the time on. The concept is sort of neat, I thought the voice acting was good, but not enough really happens with the story. The game plays with the same themes throughout, and too little seems to develop or change through the story until an ultimate scene where [spoiler] the main character makes a final decision (you quite literally pick from a list of endings), in which the character is suddenly resolute in an epilogue about their choice despite an entire story full of responses like "maybe" and "could be" and "possibly". I get that part of the resolution is the main character finally deciding what to do, but the sudden change is jarring. [/spoiler]

If you're unsure about the game itself but are really curious to try out the solitaire variant, I recommend instead buying "The Zachtronics Solitaire Collection".

A beautiful game at this point in time.

It's poetic and thoughtful, it allows the user to go through at their own pace and experience their own feelings about what is happening.

Tackling themes of AI and morality, it's a great title to experience when so much is happening around these topics in the real world. I found I could relate to some of the characters in particular ways while keeping my own perspective on things.

First play through completed, and I loved every second of it, it delved into real thoughts of different issues and societal perspectives people might not always consider in the day to day about similar issues. The progression felt real and like you actually get to know the characters in a way that matters. A gorgeous game, I'd recommend it to anyone that asked for a game worth every penny.

Многообещающее начало. Честно сказать, сюжет затянул и я ждала, что он будет раскручиваться дальше, но толком никакой развязки не произошло. Нет ощущения законченности и какого-то влияния на сюжет, кажется, финал определяется лишь самым последним выбором. Но игра приятно нарисована, здорово озвучена, идея сама по себе интересная, жаль не развернуто как следует.
