Some of the critiques I had about the previous game are fixed in this one. The writing (mostly in terms of grammar and sentence structure) is better, and so is the voice acting for the most part. However, I'm still not sold on the Sandman's voice acting. He sounds like he's just reading his words without emotion, and not in a way that sounds scary. However, he does do a few evil laughs that are not bad.

Another big complaint I have with this game is that both the main game and the bonus episode feel a lot shorter than the ones in the first game. This wouldn't be so bad if the endings weren't so unsatisfying. You see, this series has four endings: The main game and bonus game in the first entry, and the main and bonus games in the second. In all four endings. [spoiler]the Sandman doesn't face any real punishment or defeat. The heroes just kind of get away from him, and then the game ends abruptly. Since he is supernatural, maybe you could say that he is immortal and can't be killed, but there should at least be a way for the heroes to seal him away or otherwise prevent him from doing further evil, even if he finds a way to escape it. Laura is said to have this great power, but even still, she never really tries to STOP him.[/spoiler]

Das Ende kommt immer sehr plötzlich, aber o.k., die Geschichte ist stimmig. Der erste Teil hat mir besser gefallen, hier musste man deutlich mehr knobeln. Ich bereue den Kauf jedoch nicht und werde auch dieses Spiel bestimmt in Abständen wieder spielen.

This is a beautiful hidden puzzle game, however it is quite difficult as the hint system is really bad and does not work. Everywhere it just says there is nothing to do even though somewhere there should be something to do. I would recommend getting this game on a sale. If you enjoy hidden object games, you would definitely enjoy this game.

I was excited to play the sequel since the first game was fun and the story was intriguing! Until I realized that I shouldn't have been THAT excited... UHM... First of all... Laura can't help herself... But she is helping TIM, NOT herself? I guess you can argue he is her husband, but still... SHE. IS. HELPING. HIM. NOT. HER. Whatever.

If you have trouble playing the game and YOU WILL, unless you are freaking smart as hell and remember where EVERY SINGLE THING IS? You will need the HINT Button... Guess what? IT DOESN'T WORK IN THIS GAME!!! It worked TWICE and even then I already flipping knew wth to do! Like it will say "nothing to do here"... "unexplored areas". <-- Did you know that this means you have to search the area for an item and use the appropriate said item? Also, the Hint WILL NOT show you what item to use correctly in the area.

The only thing that DOES work with the HINT, is dragging an item onto it. But then again, for one: image isn't always clear and two, sometimes it doesn't tell you the right thing. For example: you need to use the gas can (Bonus game) on the snow machine... Guess what? YOU FREAKING CAN'T!!! I was going insane trying to shove that freaking can in there so hard! I would've already shoved the entire can into the damn gasket! GRR! YOU... HAVE TO... PUT THE CAN NEXT TO THE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!! Then USE THE HOSE! AND GET THAT GASOLINE. YOU ARE WELCOME!

OH AND I am pretty sure you got stuck in the car crash dream, didn't you? YEAH OKAY. Here we go: You know the rag you find? I forget where you get the rag... You can use it on the metal pole! Yeah! The broken off part! You DIG THE GROUND WITH IT! THEN use the chainsaw on the traps! YOU ARE WELCOME AGAIN!

Story... Story... Story... First one was better. This one is like... Okay... Like... Okay... I will save you, but whatever...

And did they forget the name of the Gremlin in Tim's dreams? I thought it was DREAMIE! Yet in the Bonus game she is called Spotted? Spottie? IS THAT MY MC'S GREMLIN?! ARE ALL OF THEM CHOSEN ONES?! LAURA... TIM AND MC?! THAT IS A GIANT PLOT HOLE! Which is never explained...

I honestly don't know how I got through this game... No, nevermind... I USED like 99% of my patience. I was about to quit on that Gas Can part. And excuse me, why is tranquilizing Tim gets the Sandman owned? What happened to him? What's the meaning of having Gremlins in Tim's dreams as well? How is the MC accessing the dreams this time around? Laura's magic? I have like a giant list of questions that I will spare you from.

And BTW this game should be called "Dreamscapes: Nightmare's SLAVE". YEAP! Sandman doesn't want an HEIR! He wants a damn SLAVE! Also, he laughs like Santa... So that's hilarious...

While the first game tried its hardest and became awesome... This one... Sigh... The Gremlins were still cute... Or one of them was...?

Anyway... The last of my patience ran out, so off I go... Thanks for the good parts...?

Adventure game of 2015.

Here in the second part Laura has a problem with her husband. The Sandman she defeated in the previous game is out for revenge. There are only two choices for her: watch her husband slowly die in the hospital, or enlist the help of an old friend again. You take over this part in the game.

Very difficult but well done. The story is strange, but the gameplay is well designed. Unfortunately you have to get help on You Tube from time to time. At least I wouldn't have been able to finish it otherwise. The mini-games and hidden objects are not to blame, they are good and can be solved with help if desired. The difficulty in this game hides in pathfinding. So where do I find what to get where next. The help function is useless for this.

I still recommend it because it's a well-made game.

Abenteuer Game von 2015.

Hier im zweiten Teil hat Laura ein Problem mit ihrem Ehemann. Der Sandmann den sie im Vorgängerspiel besiegt hat ist auf Rache aus. Für sie gibt es nur zwei Möglichkeiten, zu zu sehen wie ihr Mann im Krankenhaus langsam stirbt, oder wieder auf die Hilfe eines alten Freundes zurückzugreifen. Diesen Part übernimmst du in dem Game.

Sehr schwer, aber gut gemacht. Die Geschichte ist zwar Kurios, aber das Gameplay ist gut gestaltet. Leider muss man sich gelegentlich auf "You Tube" Hilfe holen. Zumindest ich hätte es sonst nicht zu Ende spielen können. Die Minispiele und Wimmelbilder sind aber nicht daran Schuld, die sind gut und auf Wunsch mit Hilfe lösbar. Die Schwierigkeit in diesem Game versteckt sich in der Wegfindung. Also wo finde ich was um wo weiter zu kommen. Die Hilfefunktion ist hierfür nutzlos.

Empfehlen tue ich es dennoch, weil es halt ein gut gemachtes Game ist.

J'ai un avis mitigé mais je vais rester positif sur le jeu.
Suite du 1er opus, il est beau graphiquement, mais l'histoire n'est pas spécialement enivrante et surtout il y a très peu de passage d'objets cachés ! On se retrouve plus a devoir chercher quoi faire avec un objet où il n'y a pas de logique (mention spéciale au passage avec un chien !).
Le côté fun est la recherche sur les écrans de petites bestioles pour activer un succès.
Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de succès steam.
Un jeu correct sans plus, avec au mieux 4h de jeu

First of, the game takes maybe 5-6 hours including bonus play. I just forgot to turn it off over night.

I enjoyed this game, my only gripe is that the collective items where often placed just where you click to go forward or backward to other scenes. Other than that it is a decent HOG. It continues the story from the first game, but explains enough to play this on it's own. There are a lot of scenes and the story is alright.

The first installment of this game went way overboard with the hints, including an in-game walkthrough. Unfortunately they have swung to the opposite side of the pendulum now - now there are NO usable hints in the game. I'm in like Chapter 3 (in the family home, maybe that's 4? Whatever) and I am stuck. Every accessible screen tells me there is nothing to do there. Every single one. There is no in-game waltkthrough this go-round and the hint system is totally useless. And I'm not about to spend half an hour or more watching someone else play the game (and having to see all sorts of spoilers). I don't know why but there are NO written walkthroughs for this game, just videos, the absolute most moronic way to present game hints. Only idiots think a video of gameplay is a substitute for an actual walkthrough.

Seriously. The in-game walkthrough was a bit much but NO HINTS AT ALL is even worse. What a waste of time and money. The first game wasn't all that great - I mean what do you really expect from a typical hidden object game.

YES THIS IS A HIDDEN OBJECT GAME because they have hidden objects that you have to find to progress - does not matter whether or not you also have to find some irrelevant items from a list to get the one you want, a feature not included in the first game but which is present in this one here and there. Still hidden objects regardless of the presentation.

So finding yourself totally stuck with the hint function useless pretty much ruins the game. DO NOT BUY. Frankly even Dreamscapes 1 wasn't all that great, but then HOD are basically just time killers anyway. However I resent totally wasting the time I spent killing time because their hint function doesn't.

+ nice and clean looking graphics, character models and cut scenes
+ music is good.
+ game's story is exciting
+ puzzles mostly enjoyable. they are not so easy or difficult
+ voice acting is ok
+ there is auto save

cons

- there are no cards and steam achievements but there are some in game achievements
- hint system mostly useless
- game is short

this is an better than average hog game and decent sequel to Dreamscapes: The Sandman - Premium Edition. if you like first game. you re gonna like this one, too.

Final thoughts (6.5/10):
It's an okay game. I enjoyed the play but, unlike the first one, there was too much ordinary in the victim's dream worlds for my taste. It is unlikely I will replay it unless I need a Beholder fix.

Entertaining sequel to Dreamscapes 1. This time hidden object scenes (word list type) have been added, so it's properly called a HOPA (the original is a casual adventure - a kind of light-weight adventure / point and click game). It may be a bit shorter than the original, but there's still lots to do, and the story and animation are good.

Pros:
- It's fun. The characters are a little hapless (especially Timmy), but also more human than these games often portray.
- The art is really nice.
- The HOS are nothing special, but competent. The puzzles are once again well-varied and can be challenging.
- More modern graphics than the original, including better suited to wide screens.

Cons:
- Very repetitive soundtrack - the music is suitable, but needs turning way down (or muting) after a while.
- The translation suffers at the very, very end of main adventure and throughout the bonus chapter. It's not exactly awful, more... oddly poetic but occasionally confusing. The number of grammar and typo type errors is also higher in the bonus chapter. [NOTE: The translation is very good throughout the first game and most of this game.]

Dreamscapes 2 est un puzzle game avec quelques hidden. Graphiquement plus beau que le premier, il est pourtant moins prenant que le premier volet.
Pour rappel dans le premier épisode, on sauvait Laura du Marchand de Sable qui cherchait à prendre le pouvoir enfoui en Laura… à la fin du jeu le Marchand de Sable s’échappe et comme vengeance il cherche dans cet épisode à prendre possession du corps de Tim (le mari de Laura)... quel neuneu ce méchant ^^

Ca casse pas deux pattes à un canard (et tant mieux car je n’aime pas voir souffrir les animaux) mais les différents cauchemars sont jetés à la volée, ils ne sont pas très long à faire ne devraient pas être trop difficile. Le problème c’est que par manque d’informations, on est bloqués plusieurs fois dans le jeu en mode expert car il y a un gros problème de narration sans compter que parfois avoir une idée c’est bien mais ne pas réussir à résoudre le problème car on ne met pas l’objet au bon endroit faute d’un icône d’interaction disponible est légèrement irritant. Si ce problème était déjà là dans le premier je ne l’avais pas remarqué outre mesure dans le même niveau de difficulté…

Sans compter, que ce n’est en fait qu’un simple copier-coller de la première aventure sans plus… On change la personne à sauver et les lieux et... c’est tout…
On retrouve même quelques puzzles qui vont se résoudre quasiment à l’identique…

Cet épisode 2 est, loin s’en faut, utile et nécessaire en terme de narration. Celui qui ne fait que des puzzles et des SOC devrait ne pas y trouver également son bonheur. Il ne reste pas grand-chose au final de ce Dreamscapes 2 plat et sans véritable saveur…

Pues, bastante bueno, al igual que el anterior, eso sí, más de lo mismo. Es casi exactamente igual, sólo cambia el protagonista, pero las mecánicas son exactamente igual, también los mirones, y el "gremlin".
Han introducido unas cuantas EOO que no había en el otro y aquí utilizan un poco más el ir y venir de un lado al otro para encontrar una pieza/un objeto que hace falta en otro escenario, ya he dicho otras veces que eso me marea bastante y me molesta un poco porque parece que está puesto sólo para alargar el juego sin más "chicha".
La duración, igual que el otro, 3 horas, pero no tanto por contenido sino porque hay que dar más vueltas, como ya he dicho.
En ese sentido, el juego se me hizo un poco más pesado que el anterior, no es que estés constantemente dando vueltas, no es algo insoportable ni que te estropee la experiencia, pero si a eso le sumamos que no aporta nada nuevo excepto unas cuantas, no muchas, EOO, pues llega un momento que cansa.
En fin, a pesar de todo lo recomiendo, porque en general la experiencia está bastante bien.

Suite du premier opus dont l'histoire nous est brièvement résumée en préambule.

Retirée au coeur de montagnes isolées et enneigées, Laura est rattrapée par son passé quand le Sandman fait son retour pour s'en prendre cette fois-ci à son mari Tim. Elle nous appelle pour que nous l'aidions à nouveau en explorant cette fois-ci les rêves de Tim et en dissipant ses peurs enfantines.

Ce titre est dans la continuité du premier épisode et il est conseillé de le faire après y avoir joué.
Les changements notables sont les suivants :
- les voix en anglais sont cette fois-ci accompagnées de sous-titres français
- l'utilisation des objets est souvent un peu moins évidente car il y a davantage d'aller-retours à faire et les objets sont souvent détournés de leur usage habituel
- il y a maintenant quelques SOC pour récupérer un objet
- quelques modifications graphiques.

L'aventure principale est prolongée dans cette version par un bonus qui rajoute un chapitre.

Jeu à recomander surtout à ceux qui ont joué au 1 mais titre qui reste de toute façon plutôt pas mal dans le genre. A prendre en soldes évidemment.

Suite de "dreamscapes : the sandman".
J'avais pris les deux jeux en même temps.
Je recommande encore moins celui-ci.
Histoire encore plus basique, des décors que je trouve moins bons que le premier (déjà que c'était pas top...) et des énigmes toujours pas intéressantes.

Le seul point positif reste que le gremlin qui est vraiment trop chou.

In this HOG u will be playing to save Laura's husband Tim from the evil Sandman. The big difference in this game is that it does have HOG portions while the first one did not have any. Thankfully they added a HOG in this game since I love the HOG portions of the game a lot.

The characters in this game are nice, the VA was nice, bg are very nice. and music I believe was all the same from the first game.

As said in the beginning this game does have HOG which is a huge plus. I also enjoyed playing this HOG. I'll admit I like the first one better than the second one. Also the story on the main and bonus chapter ends abruptly which is such a shame. Yup the main story ends and continues in the bonus story. I really wish the story was longer because as I'm writing this I don't think there is a third Evil Sandman game. I hope a third Evil Sandman game comes out.

All in all u will enjoy this HOG maybe not as much as the first one. The first is my favorite then the second one is my favorite.

In the previous game, you saved Laura from the Sandman, and helped her learn to use her dream powers. Laura needs your help again, but this time it's to save her husband, whose mind has been invaded by the Sandman in hopes of making Tim his apprentice.

This sequal falls far short of its predecessor. First off, I spent about 7 hours in the first game, and just over 3 in this one. It's significantly shorter, with less areas to explore, and the areas are also smaller. The puzzles are there, but there isn't really any grading in their difficulty. They start hard and stay hard, with a couple overly simple exceptions. There's some hidden item events, one or two per each area.

The graphics have improved, but the lip sync is still horrid. The voice acting varies (Sandman is stilted and awkward, Laura is decent, Tim varies by scene).

I enjoyed the first game, and I do like the story, but they kind of dropped the ball on this one. There's not really any progression in plot between the first game and this one, however. It's more like an extended bonus to the first game.

Graphics were ok in this game but they were not outstanding. I did find the games easy. It felt like being led around by the hand to play each section. I like hidden object but it was way to easy. I rarely not recommend games but unless you are just bored I would not play.

This game has two very terrible attributes. First off there is no skip button for puzzles. In the original game there was but the converted Steam version left it out. I am stuck on a puzzle with no way to get past it. Secondly the mouse cursor does not line up with what your trying to click. It's way off in some cases.

This game is a no go unless they fix the above mentioned problems.

Il faut se creuser la tête pour réussir à avancer, mais rien n'est insurmontable :)
Seule ombre, de nombreux bugs qui font crasher le jeux régulièrement.... dommage, redemmarer toute les heures c'est un peu fatiguant.
