Positioned firmly within the classic adventure genre, the collection emphasizes exploration, atmospheric storytelling, and inventory-based puzzle solving over action or modern cinematic flair.

The story begins with Dracula 4: The Shadow of the Dragon, where Ellen is tasked with authenticating a painting salvaged from a shipwreck in Hungary. What begins as a professional art investigation gradually spirals into a web of occult intrigue tied to vampire mythology. As Ellen travels through European settings, she uncovers fragments of a conspiracy that suggests a lineage connected to Dracula himself. Dracula 5: The Blood Legacy continues this storyline, picking up after the painting resurfaces in New York under suspicious circumstances.
