The game has a very thight scope perfectly summed by the title, you jump on a destroyer (only one available) and.... hunt u-boats!

The cutscenes are horrible and repetitive, the game lacks some polish and modern qol featres but if it is what you're looking for it's a good, even immersive, experience expecially for the discounted price.

Oh god lord. this one is bad. The horrible voice acting alone will pull you out of the game. The mechanics of ship movements only make the game feel worse.

Kind of shallow and boring, to be honest.

Based on the complexity and content, I expected something similar to U-Boat, but it was not. I bought it with a 70% discount and still ended up refunding it. I will put the money to better use and buy myself a kebab instead.

I think everyone agrees that this is a specialized game that does not fit mainstream game play mechanics and presentation. However, I like the innovative approach and had a lot of fun and intense moments in this game. I give a positive review. However, there are a few things I would strongly consider to optimise:

1) The game has two modes of tracking the enemies' position on the DRT (a map that you use to track the U-boat's position and your own ship's position): automatic or manual. Manual mode is extremely hard to manage but could have the potential to make it more fun. For manual plotting, you are depending on a vocal voice from the radar room that shouts out the position of the U-boat in more or less regular intervals. Your job is to mark those on the map. The problem is the following detail: you have two switchable scale resolutions on the DRT map: 1000-yard and 100-yard scale resolutions. When switching, every drafted position gets deleted, which is, of course, realistic, as the U-boat positions had been plotted with a pen at that time. The real problem is that you absolutely need the 100-yard scale resolution to make somewhat sufficiently precise attacks; the other scale is uselessly imprecise regarding the drawing errors in relation to the resolution. Considering the speed of the vessels, their maneuverability, and the intervals of the voice commenting on the positions (on which you are depending), it is absolutely favorable to switch to the 100-yard resolution scale when you get closer than ~2000 yards to the target. This is a strong rule of thumb. However, the ruler that is used to measure the distances is too short and covers only 1500 yards. As simple as that. That prevents plotting efficiently and precisely the course of the enemy U-boat. A ruler that is too short for the game mechanics. So sad that a super cool game mechanic is unplayable because of such a little detail. Please fix it and apply a ruler that covers 20-25 yards!!! The game will be so much more fun in the manual mode. Even with a long ruler, it will be a very difficult task to be precise because the drawing error is much (!) bigger than in the absolutely precise automatic plotting. Irony: in the automatic mode when using the 100-yard resolution, the position of the U-boat will be precisely plotted even when the ship is more than 1500 yards away, let's say 2000 yards, despite the fact that the ruler is too short to plot it. That is hilarious, unrealistic, and unexplainable, and therefore the automatic version has such big advantages. That leads to the following gameplay: In automatic mode, you switch to the 100-yard scale as soon as the U-boat is ~3500 yards away. The position is then plotted precisely despite the fact that the ruler is way too short because of the automatic function. You stay in this mode until you have sunk the U-boat and always have perfect track. Please fix it!

2) As soon as the developers have elongated the ruler and made manual mode useful, that way: please implement a coop-mode. I would love to split work on two people, where one is plotting the course manually and the other is setting course in a teamwork manner. Another idea is: one of the AI allied ships should be playable by the players and these should be selectable and switchable during the mission: e.g. at the start both players play there own different ships. Then, when a uboat has been detected, both player go to the same ship in charge and divide the task of plotting and setting course. When the uboat is sunken (or at any other time), the player may switch back to its original ship. During the time, the ship is not commanded by a player, the AI will take over (of course it should still be possible to give it tasks using tactival overview like in single player). That would be an interactive and very fun gameplay especially for manual mode.

This is one of those hidden gems, if you like Naval warfare. I highly recommend this one. It doesn't have a lot of reviews, so I am going to help that. You command a squad of destroyers from a main destroyer. (Fletcher class) Your goal is to escort and protect the convoys heading from the US/Canada to Europe. Well, half of it anyway, the Brits take over the escort halfway. Your job is to locate and sink enemy Uboats before they can sink these ships. If they do then you must pick up the survivors. This is more like an arcade/sim, but you can also adjust the degree of both with some options.

The game does well with default difficulty and gameplay settings. So I would stick with them. The crew handles most of the ship work, you just tell them what to do. Yes, you manually fire the depth charges, and deck guns. You issue orders to co escorts where they need to be, who to attack, or where to direct their sonar sweeps.

Most of your time will be spent in Tactical view screen, or external. Tactical is where you will issue orders to your co/escorts. They can attack subs as well. The tact screen can sometimes become a little bugged, or wonky with some of the directions but will eventually correct itself most times. Unless you load mid mission then it may have a contact on the board that is sunk but won't erase.

The external view is where the game shows its beauty. The ships are pretty, the water is done well, and the game performs relatively well. (except for Picture in picture modes when you, or your crew are dropping depth charges)

The game is not short. It has 9 missions each broken down into multiple battles. Honestly, the game could have done with 1 (or even 2) missions removed, and it would have still felt complete.

The actual gameplay is slow, and combat is slow, but it is rewarding once you get the hang of it. Dropping depth charges with a perfect run is satisfying, as the PIP will show it in the top right corner. The deck guns work great within range (less than 1800 yards) you can sink some before they submerge, get a nice big black plume of smoke and nice explosion from it. (it takes several on target rounds though)

It will force you to use tactics, and understand space/distance. You will have to do a little guess work as well. But after the tutorial, after the first mission or so, you should have your head wrapped around most mechanics. It is not super hard, but it is not an easy game either. The learning curve is worth it, catch it on sale during the many seasonal sales.

游戏的内容就是在一个通信基本靠吼的时代，主要围绕TRR（战术测距记录仪）、雷达、声呐以及一些态势感知管理工具距离把深弹丢到潜艇前进的航线上，在游戏的前几个小时研究完TRR是如何实现判断投弹时机之后剩下的基本就是枯燥的在潜艇前路上丢炸弹，可以说研究TRR的原理成了我玩这个游戏最大的乐趣，抛开这一层面不谈。

游戏画质实在一般欠打磨，人物生硬的表情就像二十年前的游戏却还要在过场动画中反复处刑，作战时驱逐舰的战位上没有一个人，转向时舰船甚至不会发生倾斜，唯一在表现上可圈可点的可能是战情中心的各种图表作业？
游戏UI设计的人机工程做的也不好，在左上角的各种一层菜单没有辨识度以至于在紧张的分饰多角的作战中还要分精力去仔细看一眼门牌号写的到底是声呐室还是战情室，这还不算完，在左上角进了一级菜单后还得跨越大半个屏幕去屏幕中下方选择二级菜单；同样的问题还有深水炸弹的引信和布撒方式的选择钮，两个级别的菜单按钮完全堆在了一起，曾经让我在点击投放时不小心按进了其中一级选择菜单后选择了不同的炸弹引信导致我罚站几秒错过投放时机。
游戏的战役更是没有太多花头，除了冰山稍微给我留下一点印象之外什么都想不起来，感觉所有任务就像是把单个任务复制一下改变一下交战规模。

还是选择给了好评，虽然游戏呈现上已经不能简单用欠打磨来形容了，但是核心体验上还是能看出制作组的心思（至少没成为uboat那种经营游戏），虽然除了核心体验外确实很枯燥就是了。
