Wow, this is the first multiplayer game I ever played. I have such a core memory of being with my Dad and both of us being confused at "lol" in the chat. When we asked what it meant, we just saw more "lol". Lol.

HARD WORK BEING THIS GOOD
Aunque unas horas mas corto y con un par de misiones un poco puñeteras, no ha sido tan complicado como el 1, el cual tenia algunas que la IA parecía tener auto aim, pero aun así mucho mas llevadero que el 1. Este a su vez tiene un poco mas de variedad con las misiones, siendo no siempre solo ir y matar o destruir algo mientras te paseas, aquí subes a barcos y trenes.
Y hablando de la IA, al menos la de tu equipo es extremadamente manca, tampoco digo que tengan que hacerte la misión un paseo, pero el 90% de las veces mueren y eres tu contra el mundo jajaja. Poco delta force parecen esos soldados, a la mínima se van al suelo jajaja. Por lo demas un juego muy recomendable si te gusto el 1..

Textures are broken
Graphics issues on windows 11 makes it unplayable. I have tried two of the suggested solutions I found in the discussions but none of them works for me.
Bought this purely for nostalgia. Takes me back to 1998. No concept of health bar, bullet drop, etc The game was way ahead of time. I would spend hours perfecting each mission until my parents would scream at me to get off my PC. Fun times! For someone wanting to try this today. Remember, this game was made nearly 30years ago. It is nowhere close to present day fast paced FPS. Play it purely for fun.

This is probably the "Funnest" of Delta Force games for those who like basic shooting, perhaps tying with Land Warrior, and plays largely like an action thriller movie. Both 2 and LW have unusually large map variety in the series.
DF2's best quality is that it's the last one to rely so much on voxels before more polygons were used in DFLW and later. DF2 has lots of grass that can be hidden in, but still runs well, even on old low powered PCs, which no detailed modern game can seem to replicate.

So i am having a bit of difficulty with the graphics. The interface works 50/50. but when you look down the scope of your weapon, gameplay items like trees buildings etc are stuck in the graphics makes it increasingly difficult play.
this isnt the standard run and gun action shooter you might expect, the enemies can kill you away just as easily as you can kill them, the game can be brutal sometimes, with you dying and restarting the entire level, but thats the magic of it, securing an area by picking off all the enemies, with cool set pieces in 1999, like an enemy train and other things, this game wasnt as popular as half life because it was bad, it wasnt popular because it was a different formula to what people were used too in shooters back then, but this game is incredible

Há um crash ou outro eventual por ser um jogo antigo, o que pode ser frustrante visto que não há checkpoints nas fases, mas vai por mim, vale muito a pena por esse valor, penso que eles fizeram muito com as limitações da época.

Win10环境下2的卡死频率比1多，不过好在还是能通关（win11频繁闪退无法游戏）。武器方面依旧还是枪榴弹M4万金油。任务方面：critical mass这关会凭空刷敌人有点恶心，尤其最后撤离点的时候还会凭空刷3个敌人，稍不注意就会被打死人质（这关失败条件是任意一名人质死亡）恶意满满，敌人有时候甚至能隔墙锁你。

Auch der 2. Teil der Saga ist mega und ein absoluter Klassiker. den ich immer wieder gerne spiele. 1998 das ist schon ne Zeit her. Die Pixelgrafik macht die Bekämpfung manchmal etwas schwer und birgt einige Herausforderungen, aber der Spaß geht nie verloren. Leider hatte ich auch das ein oder andere Mal fiese Abstürze der gesamten Games. Dann geht nix mehr und man kommt auch über den Task Manager nicht mehr aus dem Spiel raus....da half nur neustarten.

I had fun with it the game. I did cheat on the last few missions since I was so fed up with dying over something dumb. This game is like the first game but with updates. It's really fun when you play it the way you want it to play. I don't know much to say except get it when it's on sale.

My opinions on this game are mixed, but my overall impression is that it feels like a rushed sequel. You can now interact with the map to change your approach on the go, and there's some new equipment available for the player to pick from, but for the most part, it’s just more of the original game. The gameplay and visual fidelity are almost identical, although unlike the first game, this one is plagued by rendering errors, frame drops, and random crashes. The AI somehow feels dumber than it did in the original, and I would often encounter enemies trying to shoot me through walls. The implementation of fall damage makes the game seem a bit more realistic, but it also makes it much harder to traverse the voxel-based environments. Final verdict? It’s a fine but ultimately inferior successor, up until the last few levels where a sharp difficulty spike basically guarantees getting onetapped by invisible enemies from across the map.

A decent improvement over the original Delta Force. DF2 introduces greater mission variety, more weapons and equipment to choose from, an improved HUD, and more voice acting for the mission briefings and in-mission chatter.
The game looks and feels the same as the original despite the changes, so familiar players should have no problem jumping right in. If you are a fan of classic 90s FPS, or want to know what one of the earliest FPS MilSims was like, then look no further than Delta Force 2.
The game is a bit difficult to get running on modern systems, but there are safe fixes available for download from the community. Also be aware of freezing on certain levels that contain flying objects like helicopters.

This game definitely hasn't aged well; but personally I feel it was well ahead of it's time when it released.
The graphics are blocky and it's unplayable by today's standard, but how many old games are?
Why I love it?
DF2 Comes with a map/level editor so you can create your own missions and levels - without any coding.
This game uses voxels for rendering graphics- and has an open world (yes it's empty beyond the play area, but still, open). I really loved the way the designed the missions. Being chased by Hinds and Helixes, blowing train engines and convoys - felt like an action movie. (BTW, you may have played another game which came out in 2007 that uses voxels- it's a simple game known as Crysis.)
Also, I love every sound and score used in this game. I have not played it online, but absolutely loved every second of the campaign.
Thanks to NovaLogic for making such a memorable series of games.

Another great childhood game from the Delta Force serie made by NovaLogic. the game works directly on modern systems as Windows 10. the diffrence between DF 2 (1999) and DF 1 (1998) is that the AI feels harder. further brings the game a two versioned campaign, plus the memorable quick missions and the editor to create your own missions. its amazing for that time that the enemy ai reacts in the language you operate.
An absolute must have for the collection.

Janky as hell, even for it's time. The textures have this blocky look to them which is incredibly bizzare.
For a military shooter, the guns are equally weird, there is no recoil whatsoever so there is no reason to have burst fire on the M4; just use semi-auto to conserve ammo, the scope is implemented in the weirdest way I have ever seen, it's an onscreen overlay to the right of your crosshair, is the soldier looking through the scope with both eyes open? There is also constant flickering of entities so much so that if you play enough you can easily identify enemies just by their blocky silhouettes crawling across the map without even scoping in. There are much better single player military shooters in the market if you want to scratch the sniper-infiltrator itch so I would skip this one except for nostalgia sake.

Sure, Delta Force 2 is very well made for kids and grown adults to get that covert feeling that many would get lost in experiencing. Delta Force puts you in a situation against all adds and allows for adaptation and creativity in order to complete the mission. Delta Force 2 is a fun and charming game and even though I say that while accounting for the fact that the game came out in 1999,marking it's Silver Jubilee this year, when the modern mil-sim scene is considered I'd call this an entry-level game that is still relevant to the advancements that we've had in modern games.
The main story of Delta Force is divided into two campaigns: Operation Common Resolve and Operation Global Enforcement. Unlike its predecessor, the campaigns are not restricted to only country, but actually span several countries. Each campaign has 14 missions in total. However, one mission from each campaign is a hidden mission, to unlock which, you have to collect intelligence from certain other missions. Beside that, Operation Common Resolve has one mission that cannot be accessed without using a Hex Editor, giving the game and total of 25 main missions. Apart from that, there are also 19 Standalone quick missions in the game. While the campaign missions are engaging, they ultimately boil down a goose-chase, trailing terrorists across the globe. Unlike in Delta Force, we rarely ever go on the offensive and when we do, our efforts feel more like filler rather than an actual mission important to the campaign. In contrast, the Quick Missions are far more engaging despite not being interlinked by any story and that's primarily because of the level designs in those levels.
One of the things that feels like a downgrade as compared to the first Delta Force is the lack of proper briefings. The briefings simply give you the situation at hand and tell you what you do without going into too many details about the action plan or even how the current mission fares into the grand scheme of the entire campaign. To add on top of that, they've removed the debriefing screen entirely. It breaks the immersion and doesn't motivate me as much. On the other hand, the voice lines in the game have been revamped to add even more immersion. [i]If[/i] your teammates are alive, they will usually have something or the other to say about the way the situation evolves over time. In most cases, the significant events in the game are well narrated and despite limitations of the era, they actually implemented proper ambient noises in the backgrounds. The only thing that I find breaks the immersion would be the enemy death screams. When our own teammates die, they sound extremely convincing. However, the death sounds from the enemies sound greatly stereotypical and low-effort.
The level design has received a massive upgrade in this iteration. The levels no longer shower you with hordes of enemies in most cases and even when they do, you typically have well-set level paths to guide you to your objectives. Apart from the lack of a large number of enemy combatants, they are also placed at strategic spots that truly make the open-world nature of the game shine through. They have added a lot more terrain to utilise as per your preferred playstyle. You are free to circumvent problematic parts of the map if you deem it fit. The waypoints were something to mostly ignore in the first game, but in this iteration, they tend to point you towards the optimal solution. That being said, there were instances where the level design felt a little off. At some instances during missions with stealth, it felt like the enemy AI is not programmed to see us at all. There were also cases where I had to rely on stealth in a game that isn't optimised for it. Then there were the few levels that felt like you were in an action movie instead of a military operation with the kind of things they ask you to do, like in 'Safe Haven.'
Guns are another huge upgrade in this game. A lot of the experience is also tied to the technological advancements, but almost every gun in the game has its place. The M4 gives you versatility the same way an actual AR would. The suppressed weapons also have their place in this game since stealth is now possible and it now possible to spot enemies without scopes. The snipers have a different identity as well with the M40 providing you with more rounds and the .50 cal providing you with a faster RoF and materiel penetration but fewer rounds. There is also underwater gear, but I didn't find any instances where I would want to use them. You also have Ghillie Suits in this game that make you practically invisible when crawling and satchel charges finally work as intended! You also have greater control over your gear with four Loadout slots instead of three.
The gameplay has greatly improved with stealth now being a thing. Enemies don't automatically spot you from across the map and factors such as fog, your attire, time of day, and concealment factoring into it all. It turns each mission into more of a surgical strike than rather than a kill-all simulator. Delta Force always had an emphasis on strategy, but this minor change boosts it to a whole new level where your tactics are even more important on the battlefield. The game is still a realistic mil-sim shooter where the odds are heavily stacked against you. The levels are not easy unless you consider most of the Quick Missions. The typical level will require a few tries with some of the harder levels being left almost entirely to RNG or at most, memorisation. The enemy AI has also been dumbed down to to give you plenty of time to safely sweep and clear buildings in missions that call for it in contrast to Delta Force where they would shoot you dead on sight. This also brings in the possibility of hostage rescue scenarios which you'll find plenty of, especially in the Quick Missions. This iteration, though, has a thing for vehicles as you'll find various kinds of them throughout the game with Helicopters being the most notorious of them all.
They decided to upgrade the engine to give you better graphics and make enhancements on existing technologies. For instance, bullets have better drop and travel times. The game now has bullet penetration as well as transparent, breakable glass. This means that your .50 cal will now act like it and basic bullets will penetrate cloth. They fixed the Satchel charge to work properly in this game while making another major change: you can now only blow things up using explosives, making the SAW less handy. It is also possible to enter buildings now without crashing the game. Night Vision still doesn't illuminate the view well enough.
There are a fair few problems with the game though, and most of it is related to the gameplay. Overlooking the one mission that can only be accessed through the level editor as it might just be cut content that was packaged with the build, the most glaring flaw is the stuttering issue. The game tends to stutter around areas with too many objects, such as most areas in the single player missions. The game also freezes from time to time even though there is a fan-made fix for that. Objects in the game often don't render properly and lead to visual glitches including enemies five feet from you. There are also numerous times where the enemies can shoot and kill you through walls (you can't). Your own teammates might get stuck inside objects at times. The friendly AI also causes mission failure in 'Life Guard,' making the appropriate course of action, simply making them stay put. One of the settings menu also causes the game to crash.
While Delta Force 2 is not perfect, it is very fun game despite its lack of a strong narrative. The levels speak for themselves. The bugs do break immersion but it still feel pretty realistic to where a good strategy and fluid battlefield tactics are typically important in addition to skills.
O jogo é muito bom e divertido, mesmo sendo um jogo antigo. Só estou tendo problemas em "Settings", quando vou configurar o jogo ele simplesmente trava e tenho que reiniciar o notebook pq simplesmente trava tudo. Fora isso o jogo é bem divertido.
After testing the settings, the graphics bugs were fixed just by changing to Software instead of Hardware.
Still it freezes from time to time, but I prefer that than seen throug everything.
Now i completed both campagins.

To be completely honest, Delta Force 2 is best of the Delta Force games. A textbook sequel, fixing MOST of my issues with the first game. Somewhat-High-Intensity combat with emotion-evoking radio chatter, more guns, more missions, and even hostages. Sorry to say, but Delta Force Classic is one of the most boring games ever made, and this fixes that.

Al igual que el Delta Force 1, no tiene adaptabilidad a graficos modernos. Se mira horrible y se batalla para ver a la distancia, para gente que tiene problemas de la vista, el personaje se muere hasta para bajar de una montaña y no veo una opción de guardado rapido.

One of the first FPS shooters I ever played... and still love it 27 years later. Oldie and goldie.
Great game to revisit after so many years. I fondly remember playing this series growing up, and its been a treat assaulting bases with Alpha and Charlie team again. Reading the mission briefing, and looking at the map, getting immersed..its good..

listen here. im a new gen kid. im 15. but this classic (old as ♥♥♥♥) game was pretty good. better than some triple A titles for sure. and its cheap. get it now!!
