in early access for years now... what do i have to tell u more?
Just finished the game (The Perished City and everything)... what an amazing experience. I finished it in 2.5 days, bought it on Friday and wrapped it up just now (6pm on a Sunday). Just to note, I played DT on a base MacBook Air M1 and it ran extremely well. No bugs, no lag, no errors. Just technical perfection.
This is easily the most fun and intriguing game experience I’ve had in years. I picked it up completely blind during the Spring sale on Steam (this friday), and because of that, everything (good and bad) felt very new to me (even though I can sense some CRPGs influences in this one). That sense of discovery is what made the game shine the most, in my opinion. Combat and exploration feel very fluid and fun throughout the whole game, and there isn’t a single place that doesn’t make me want to explore it. Some of the 28 quests I've done are surprisingly deep within what the game proposes. The soundtrack and sound effects are great (my favorites are the Level Up sound and the Androids). The best thing in the game for me was stealth. It felt amazing to use it to clear the entire Godhunter's Prison without taking a single hit.
There are some things to polish and some things to redo, but this is great.
For ME, the game is a 10/10 based on my [b] Early Access experience [/b], which felt [b] perfect [/b].

This game is pretty sick. In two different ways of the words usage. The graphics and atmosphere are brutal and gory. The flesh is everywhere and it gives a feeling of unease as you travel the world and see first hand how it reacts to the different environments. The combat took some getting use to but once it clicks it flows. I liked the choices the game allows us to take in certain situations. Overall a pretty good game and cant wait for the entire finished product.

I'm having a hard time actually sitting down to play this game for some raisin. What little time I have spent with this game certainly intrigues me to go further. The atmosphere, yapping, and combat are all very enjoyable. I would recommend Death Trash.

Pixelstil? Visuell sehr ansprechend für mich. Originelle, postapokalyptische Prämisse? Super.
Rollenspielelemente und flüssiges Kampfsystem? Toll. Die Story ... naja, es gibt schlechtere, aber auch bessere ^^
Doch nach einem kompletten Durchlauf des bisher veröffentlichen Inhaltes und einem weiteren, bei dem nur noch die Verdorbene Stadt fehlt, sehne ich mich nach so viel mehr.
Dies möchte ich auflisten, allerdings hat die Reihenfolge nichts mit einer Gewichtung der einzelnen Punkte zu tun.
- mehr Inhalt. Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie groß das Entwickler-Team ist, aber nach der langen Zeit, welches dieses Spiel bereits vor sich hin köchelt, erwarte ich mehr als doppelt so viel an World-Map (vielleicht bin ich verwöhnt ^^')
- mehr Orte. Klar, es ist eine Postapokalypse, aber es fühlt sich ... leer an. Es gibt die Zufallsbegegnungen, aber das ist nicht das gleiche
- mehr NSC, mehr Nebenquests, mehr, mit dem man interagieren kann, was man unternehmen kann
- mehr Tiefe, was die Skills angeht. Oder zumindest mehr Gelegenheiten dafür, dass der Sinn unterschiedlicher Builds auch erkennbar wird. Ich meine, was bringen mir 5 Punkte in Empathie, wenn dann nicht einmal eine Hand voll von Dialogen existieren, für die es relevant ist, geschweige denn sich dadurch keine alternativen Pfade zu Kampf und/oder Heimlichkeit ergeben?
- ein wenig mehr Komplexität und Balancing, was die Waffen und Rüstungen angeht
- mehr Möglichkeiten des Craftens; ich hatte etliche Ressourcen über und wusste bei einigen nicht einmal, wofür sie überhaupt gut waren
Das sind meine Hauptanliegen, es gibt sicher noch anderes, das mir einfallen würde, wenn ich die Muße hätte.
Es mag nach alldem seltsam klingen, aber ich empfehle dieses Spiel. Denn ich hatte Spaß damit. Aber es fühlt sich für mich einfach noch seeehr unfertig an. So viel Potential, von dem ich hoffe, dass es noch ausgeschöpft wird. Dann könnte ich es auch lieben und nicht nur sehr mögen.

I didnt like this game. Pixel Graphics arent my jam, but after playing two pixel graphics games with a friend and having a great time, I decided to try it. I found it really basic and something of a letdown. The story is very very bland. Unique... but still bland. Conversations have very few options, and are your standard go here, get thing, bring back. Or go here for next mission. Maybe it opens up with extended play, but honestly I found the combat to be snooze worthy. Weapons upgrades do little to change it. Strike dodge strike dodge strike dodge. (you can do strike block too if you find the skill). Get injured? Eat blobs of meat which are everywhere. You'll get infected, but you can then use your puke special ability (no, thats not a joke) and purge your infection. Weapon upgrades are boring. More damage or faster, and it doesnt change how combat goes other than they complete slightly quicker. After 7 hours I went to post a negative review and it instead pulled up the 'request refund' window. But being I played 7 hours it was declined of course. So I came back to give my opinion. Honestly, I am not sure how its scoring so high on reviews. That was definitely not my experience. Its early access, so maybe it will get some polish, get fleshed out in story, better combat. Something, I dunno. I doubt I will play it again. If you close in on 2 hours and dont like it, request a refund. Because 2 hours, 7 hours, its the same ♥♥♥♥.
Very good. Isometric action-RPG with a surreal post-apocalyptic grotesque cosmic horror theme. If you like Fallout and HP Lovecraft you will like this. Intriguing story. The interface is great, with all sorts of customisation to suit anyone's wishes, a huge amount of effort has gone into that and it's appreciated. Combat is really not easy at the start, however quicksaves make it enjoyable to learn and get better, then once you get a couple of skill upgrades and get into the groove it's pretty satisfying. On Linux, the native game would not recognise 8BitDo Adaptor 2 and PS4 controller but forcing Proton Experimental works fine.

It's really good, and has an impressive degree of soul (i.e. you can tell it was made with love and care). The creatures breathe and pulsate, as does the environment. This world is dying, but feels very alive. People have either stopped caring or gone insane. Cults and raiders ply the wasteland.
Guns and Melee are both satisfying to use and sound great. The ranged weapons feel nice & punchy, everything's got excellent feedback. The blood and puke effects are dynamic and believable, they really have weight in the game world. I often had the unpleasant sense of my character's bodily integrity being violated - Death Trash is good at that. The sound efx are choice, and do a lot of the heavy lifting. Details like bloody footprints and vomiting are well implemented and visceral. Killing feels squishy and wet, but it isn't an over-the-top spectacle.
Death Trash believes in itself, and it commits to what it's doing. You can 'hear' the author's voice throughout the experience, and even little throw away dialogue lines reflect that alien (yet oddly familiar) tone. The emotional tone/vibe is comparable to the OG 90's era Fallout games, crossed with a souls-ish ARPG like Hades. There's a vaguely satirical quality to the violence, something that I associate with games like OG Fallout and Myth.
Yeah, it's in early access and it's not finished yet. So what? i've already dumped 8 hours into it on steamdeck after maxing out the demo, and I'm nowhere near the finish line. At the very least, I've gotten my money's worth. There's a lot to love here, but perhaps most telling is that Death Trash inspired me to write my first Steam review.
It's good to know that people are still making things like this.
This game is still in progress but worth the wait. The story is fascinating so far, the visuals and audio quality is good, and gameplay is fun. Even incomplete, I love this game.
It's not bad so far. Simple graphics, imaginative, a little disturbing. Very interested in the final product.

Love the worm section, very fun to discover the lore and explore in co-op.
I beat up the meat bros and then loot the meat and then eat the meat. I puke to clean out the meat and then I pick up the puke and put it in a robot. The robot thanks me. We are friends now. I find larger meats, and larger robots. I do so much for everybody and how do they thank me? Mostly with meat. It's not much but it's honest work

Played for longer, and at least looking at the map, big game. Not crazy on talking part so far in the game, but love, love, love the combat. The constant dodging, some sneaking, firing with my revolver and changing to my sword. Just for this combat system I would recommend.

To anyone who loves old isometric RPG games like Fallout 1, Planetscape Torment, Wasteland, Underrail and so on this game is a gem in the making.
I've been playing for a few hours and i can immediately see that yes, this is a good one and shows a ton of potential.
The devs clearly understand what player agency means and how important it is.
Recently got to a point in the game where i need an item from certain someone and immediately we get that option to say "screw you" and go guns blazing and just take your item. To that i say YES. More of that. Give us those options. Let us choose if we wanna rob, trick, persuade, bribe or simply kill and this game delivers on that and not only that but it has great bones for more!
The progression system is a bit basic but satisfying, the crafting is there, the upgrades and cool secondary skills are there and i can hope we will only get more as this goes on.
The combat is satisfying but could be worked on with more such as combos, special abilities and whatnot but i can imagine this will come with the final version and be balanced where the ranged isn't so favored and melee is a bit more viable (i had the feeling it's just tough as a melee build against multiple ranged but its likely intended)
The world is wide and feels live and open. Random encounters work very well and are almost a small quest in theirown right.
Music is on point and sounds are awesome and really bring the mood up.
All in all a game in development with A LOT of potential. Devs seem to know what is important and i can only salute them and hope they keep doing what they're doing and eventually finish this game because i for one am thrilled to play the final release!

This game is what i would have been expecting if a sequel to oddworld actually ever came out. Its nothing like those but dripping with atmosphere, and personality. The story is solid with a decent build variety, and types of combat. The camera is a little meh, but nothing that ruined my experience. I love this game and am still having a blast with it. Just can't get that guitar rift at the beginning out of my head... lol
It's very engaging. Combat is simple but needs a bit of finesse to do properly. Controls are easy to learn quickly. Story is quite different and fun.
Interesting setting. The setting and vibe really carries everything else. Combat starts out pretty tedious but gets decent by midgame. I wish dialog skills were more important and that skills like lockpicking and pickpocketing could open up alternate ways to finish quests. The reality is combat is essential- so spec into combat skills.
If the dev reads this, keep up what you're doing. I want to meet the Feeder in person. It's a cool world, it's like Kenshi but gross.
I'd like more dialog that uses my skills, more uses of occultism for unique bypassing of obstacles, and ability to use lockpicking to get past areas. Options other than combat or stealth-turned-combat.
I've never been able to manage swapping between weapons with a mouse scroll button so I just hotkey everything. Feels redundant to have scroll and hotkeys both.
Items to short term boost max stamina would be great.
Being able to see armor equipped on my character would be appreciated, but not needed.
Some kind of indication my weapon is in range like the reticle changing color would help in combat. It sucks to see an energy bolt fall just short of an enemy.
Giving doctors and medical vendor stations a big in-world billboard would help me find them.
I don't know if it was intended but in the GodHunter prison I just ran past the hallway of flame thrower turrets and they couldn't target me fast enough.
This was my first Early Access game, and it's going to be my last.
Diablo 1, Fallout 1, Gothic 1 and countless others, were made by single devs or tiny teams scraping by in garages. So enough with the "small team" excuses, Crafting Legends. You two aren't revolutionizing the wheel here.
And back then? They didn't have the luxury of free promotional presence online, blasting hype to millions of phones and PCs via Twitter/X, Reddit, and TikTok. They didn't have access to a worldwide digital distributor like Steam, wishlists stacking up years in advance, or algorithms shoving your trailer into every indie fan's feed. They also didn't have the PC hardware you guys do today, multi-core beasts, 64GB RAM rigs, and RTX GPUs that let you prototype a whole boss fight in an afternoon, not spend weeks recompiling on a wheezing Pentium that crashes if you sneeze at it.
Hell, they didn't even have powerhouse engines like Unity or Godot handling 80% of the grunt work, graphics pipelines, physics sims, AI pathing all pre-baked and free. No endless YouTube crash courses, Discord hubs full of devs swapping fixes, or asset stores where you can snag cyberpunk models and animations for pocket change instead of coding every rusty mutant from scratch in raw C++.
This kicked off in 2017. Eight years ago. Early Access hit in '21, and we're still waiting on that "mid-to-late 2025" full release like it's some mythical endgame boss. Scope creep? Life got in the way? Cool, but don't hide behind "small team" when the old guard built legends without half these tools. Death Trash had promise, but it's a half-baked skeleton now, and I'm done funding the wait.

An interesting and, "special" world... The game lets you customize your experience with nicely integrated rpg features. The combat is fast and you need to react accordingly if you want to survive. The story feels like a fever dream, but make you want to know more. So now, I want to know more !

Ich gebe diesem Spiel sehr knapp einen Daumen nach unten, obwohl es wirklich viel richtig macht. Zu Beginn motiviert das Spiel sehr, was an dem erfrischend neuen Setting und dem flüssigen Gameplay liegt. Dann verläuft sich aber leider alles immer mehr in belanglosen Sidequests, ohne die Story weiter voranzutreiben. Viele Orte, die bereist werden können, scheinen für die Story nicht relevant zu sein.
Leider sind die Sidequests z.T. gar nicht motivierend, weil man oft nur belanglosen Personen helfen kann, dabei sein Leben riskiert und danach oft nicht mal eine Belohnung erhält. Da sagt einer, seine Frau wäre irgendwo im Turm, eine andere Frau hat sich verlaufen und einer dritten sollen wir bei den Forschungen helfen. Ich denke nur: "So what...?"
Manche (nicht alle!) Dialoge sind sehr kurz gehalten. Besonders tragisch ist das, wenn man z.B. der Sekte ihr Allerheiligstes (Setzling) wieder zurückbringt und dies nur mit. (paraphrasiert) "Super, danke, da ist es ja." abgetan wird. Warum hat der Autor ausgerechnet hier gespart, wo so viel Potential liegen würde. Ich möchte doch mehr über die Welt erfahren, über die Figuren, usw.
Später in der verlorenen Stadt kommt zwar mehr Schwung in die Dialoge, aber es fehlt einfach der Rote Faden, die Relevanz. Wozu das Ganze?
Auch kann man sich keiner Gemeinschaft wirklich anschließen. Das hat schon das gute, alte Gothic besser gemacht.
Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen sind noch die Reaktionen mancher NPCs. Da öffnet man z.B alle Zellentüren in einem Gefängnis und sie bleiben einfach drin, bis die Wärter irgendwann vorbeikommen und alle abknallen - hmm.
Hier nochmal die zusammengefassten Punkte:
+ erfrischend neues und schräges Setting
+ flüssige Kämpfe und interessante Waffen
+ sehr gute Sounds
+ witzige Grafik
+ teils sehr interessante Figuren
+ keine Bugs bemerkt
- zu wenig Motivation und Infos zum Hauptquest (wer, wie, was, warum?)
- wenig motivierende Nebenquests
- manchmal sehr knappe und schnodderige Dialoge
- manchmal etwas matschige Grafik
Fazit:
Würde das Spiel in der finalen Version noch eine ganze Schippe drauflegen, könnte es richtig gewinnen. So aber verläuft es sich in sinnlosen Dialogen und Quests. 20€ sind immer noch zu viel für ein so unausgewogenes Spiel

Super Grundbasis für einen echten Banger! Die Story ist irgendwie abartig aber auch faszinierend. Grafikstil toll umgesetzt und Atmo schön eingefangen. Das Spiel befindet sich im EA, macht aber trotzdem schon richtig Laune. Die Grundlagen sind vorhanden. Derzeit fehlt es meiner Meinung nach in den einzelnen Bereichen an Tiefe.
zB gibt es deutlich zu wenige Items. Auch das Crafting System ist zwar vorhanden, man kann aber auch ohne es zu nutzen den momentanen Inhalt durchspielen. Hier würde ich mir mehr wünschen. Mehr Waffen, mehr Items, mehr Erinnerungen und mehr Implantate. All diese Mechaniken sind zwar da, fühlen sich aber noch nicht richtig ausgearbeitet an, da einfach Inhalt fehlt. Ansonsten aber echt ein Top Spiel mit gutem Kampf Design und Story! Bitte weiter machen!

Игра очень понравилась. Аж блевал от удовольствия. Интересные квесты, атмосферные локации. Сыроватая, но интересная реализация стелса и щитов. Игру проходил за милишника и кайфанул. С нетерпением жду очередных обновлений и новых реализаций идей от разрабов.

Weird in the best way. I will definitely be back when there is more content. Short and sweet as it stand right now. The combat is tight, in a way that can be challenging but fair. The RPG elements are really well done, and fits well into the lore of the game. Most of all fun, and I look forward to the updates.

Garbage game (no pun intended); the devs don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ they are doing. The difficulty scales so poorly that I cannot imagine they have played the game themselves. Everything is either too easy, or suddenly too hard.

Normally I don't bother to write anything on steam but I just have to say the following. Death Trash is a wonderfull game! I loved it from beginning to "end" and hope there will be further updates soon. I played so many early access games and regreted buying them. This is not one of them. The art work, the soundscape and the world are just top notch. I played it back in 2021 and just recently came back and I LOVED it. A big thanks for the developers to provide this gem of a game.

Rafraîchissant ! Un monde plein de découverte qui peuvent influencer l'histoire si vous prenez des "bonnes" ou "mauvaises" décisions... Du genre : Bonjour Docteur, PAF un coup de dague dans le dos. A pu le donneur de quête. Suivant.e ?
Un côté RPG innovant par rapport au caractéristique de la perso (ex: Occultisme). Cette mécanique du vomis pour éviter les "surcharge" de sort qui fait qu'on perd de la vie si on ne vomis pas pour se décharger ... je ne m'en lasse pas, au point de faire vomir mon perso pour chaque petit carré de vomis possiblement expulsable xD
Mais aussi, un très chouette manière de gérer ses déplacements au clavier/souris (peut être aussi à la manette). Le fait de pouvoir faire déplacer son perso à la souris ou même depuis la mini map après avoir nettoyer une zone à un côté satisfaisant. Genre : "Allez, je me casse en buvant ma biè*e, mangeant des chips et un petit Bbuuuuurrrppp *vomis* avant de laisser la zone ravagée derrière nous.. Et ce en deux clic : un pour traverser la map et un pour vomir.
Bref, de l'humour, de l'action tantôt difficile tantôt accessible, parsemer de détente et d'exploration, de dialogue bien conçu... Ca fait plaisir. Si un jour l'équipe lis ça : Merci beaucoup et vachement bien réaliser !

Hard post apocalyptic action RPG with a beautiful art style and fantastic mechanics that reveal gradually over time. The looting is fun, clean and snappy. The combat is hard to master. The character creator makes me want to do another run with more stats in stealth and to be more evil. Oh also there is a dedicated puke button <3

Love playing this game so far. Played it till the end of early access content. Charming pixel graphics, nice gameplay mechanics, really cool fighting system, all very slick and clean and not to complicated. The story is unique and good told too! Captivating! Cant wait to so see whats next!

Необычный сеттинг и добротная пиксельная графика. Карту мира интересно исследовать, есть случайные стычки. Боевая система хороша, раскрывается в полной мере с развитием персонажа. Стиль прохождения во многом определяют выбранные навыки.
Рекомендую тем, кому нравятся классические RPG (в частности Fallout, еще когда он был в изометрии).
Amazing game even for an early access, got the platinum back in 2021, time to play it again and get the platinum one more time. Cannot wait for the completed game
Have not had this much fun in a game in a long time. If you are a fan of fallout 1/2 this is a game that will take you back 20 years and remind you of the first time you played those games and why you fell in love with them. Combat is a 10/10 and a major improvement with great balance of RPG and Skill based play. Co-op is where the game shines. No native online co-op is a missed opportunity IMO, but the steam remote play fills the gap with the slight downside and only one player can use a mouse and keyboard and the other has to use controller. That being said I dock 0 points from the score and was happy to learn both for the experience of playing with a buddy for hours having a rare gaming experience. What a game... a true love letter to one of the greatest games of my childhood. Thank you. Will gladly buy on my switch, DLC content or cosmetics to support. 10/10 will play again
Oyuna başladım ama hemen bir yorgunluk çöktü üstüme, sanki her şey ağır ağır ilerliyor. Grafikler ve atmosfer tamam da, oynanış beni hiç sarmadı. Hikaye ve görevler çok karmaşık ve bazen ne yapacağımı bilemedim. Karakter gelişimi ve dövüş mekanikleri de bana göre değil, keyif alamadım. Genel olarak çok yorucu ve sıkıcı geldi, bir daha açmam muhtemelen.
