Great puzzle game. Simple controls, easy to learn, and new components are added gradually enough for even the most novice player to keep up. The four player version is just as fun as the two player main campaign. Worth the price, and a lot of fun to play online with friends from the comfort of one's home.

Уровни требуют слаженной командной работы и логики. Разработчик чокнулся окончательно и добавил ещё уровней совсем недавно. Подходит для игры в одиночку (управление двумя роботами сразу), но лучше играть в кооперативе.
"Death Squared" é aquele tipo de experiência que testa não apenas o seu raciocínio lógico, mas também a sua paciência e a qualidade das suas amizades. O foco aqui é puramente no puzzle cooperativo e na coordenação motora, ao contrário de jogos de plataforma tradicionais onde você só precisa se preocupar com o seu próprio tempo. Apesar da aparência limpa e robótica, creio que quem aprecia um bom desafio de "tentativa e erro" (na pegada de Portal ou Snipperclips) vai encontrar aqui um dos melhores títulos do gênero para se jogar em grupo.
Eu disse que o foco é a coordenação, mas é claro que há muita estratégia envolvida na ordem dos movimentos. No Death Squared, cada jogador controla um robô colorido e precisa levá-lo até o painel da sua cor correspondente. O problema é que o cenário é uma armadilha viva: quando o robô azul se move, ele pode acionar involuntariamente um laser que frita o robô vermelho, ou uma plataforma que empurra o robô amarelo para o abismo. O jogador precisa observar as reações em cadeia antes de dar qualquer passo; não são apenas decisões de curto prazo, mas uma dança sincronizada onde um movimento milimétrico para a esquerda pode ser a diferença entre o sucesso e a explosão de todo o grupo.
A jogabilidade é extremamente precisa e, na minha opinião, um dos pontos altos: os controles são simples, o que permite que qualquer pessoa comece a jogar imediatamente, mas os níveis escalam em complexidade de forma genial. É mostrado o perigo de forma clara através de luzes e sensores, e quando você finalmente entende a mecânica de um mapa que parecia impossível, a satisfação coletiva é enorme. No entanto, é preciso ter nervos de aço; houve situações em que um erro bobo no último segundo mandou todo mundo de volta para o início da fase, o que, embora frustrante, faz parte do charme caótico do jogo.
Ainda sobre a dinâmica, aqui há um conceito muito importante, que é a comunicação (o moral do grupo depende disso). Como o jogo frequentemente exige que um jogador fique parado servindo de "escudo" ou "ponte" para o outro, a confiança é fundamental. O moral do jogador aumenta a cada nível vencido sem mortes acidentais, mas o mais importante é manter o bom humor: se você não for cauteloso e começar a culpar seus amigos pelas falhas, a experiência pode se tornar estressante. O jogo inclusive tira sarro das suas mortes através de um narrador sarcástico, o que ajuda a manter a leveza mesmo após a vigésima tentativa falha.
Para finalizar, outra coisa que eu gostei: a variedade dos desafios. Não fique com preguiça ao olhar para um mapa cheio de lasers e cubos móveis; foque no objetivo por partes, resolvendo um setor de cada vez. Você não precisará de reflexos de ninja, mas antes é preciso ter calma, uma boa visão espacial e, acima de tudo, a capacidade de admitir que a culpa daquela última explosão foi, provavelmente, sua.
Enfim, recomendo.
Fun little single player game (even the 4-player party mode can be done solo). I could also see this game being one of those rage-inducing or friendship-ruining games if you add more players.

Its good but they need to fix level 27 in party mode, we got past it with glitchs that shouldnt have worked. The video of the solution just doesnt work the same in practice.

Played it for a bit and it was moderately enjoyable, got to level 25 and then quit for the day.
The next day all my progress was gone, I have no intention to continue.
Even if I got back to where I was there is no guarantee that it wouldn't just delete my save again.

Death Squared is a fun co-op puzzle game where each player controls a cube. Great for party game night or just with a couple friends or family. I like the sci-fi aesthetic of the game as well as the voiceover.

En el modo party, el nivel 27 no se puede superar por un error de juego, y desde 2017 parece que no se arregló el problema.
(Hay una solución que trata de meterse en el bloque imaginario, pulsar esc o ir al menú, salir del menú y se arregla las físicas)

My most favourite indie puzzle game (and I did not even finish it yet). Coop is super fun both Story & party mode. In party mode with controller + keyboard you control 4 cubes (each player controls 2), you can play with remote play as long as one of you owns a controllers. Lots of levels pretty challenging, and of course the cause of most deaths is that you forget which stick controls which cube and you either fall off the platform or burn yourself with laser :D

10/4/2025 - Zero updates/fixes. I Initially brought these bugs to their attention back in June of 2025. Brilliant.
7/22/2025 - Zero updates/fixes. Been over a month since I heard from their support team.
Support is non-existent. I have tried via email and the forums. No response.
Since the update 1.8.5, Levels 7 (duoverse) and Level 8 (underside) in The Vault are unplayable. The mechanics are messed up and the floors just spin really fast and throw characters off. Neither can be beaten. I have tried on 3 different systems, so its definitely the game. Very annoying to try to beat a level that literally can't be won because the mechanics are messed up. I have been forced to skip these level and I am almost positive there will be further problems with other levels. Very disappointing.
I'll update this review once these issues are fixed.

Survived party mode with our friendship barely intact
Game is fun but we encountered a problem on level 27 in party mode that did not allow us to continue due to buggy hit boxes. Its a shame we had to resort to unlocking the levels by subverting the game since we couldn't clear the level.

Ты — куб. Твой друг — тоже куб. Задача — дойти до цели… но у каждого своя кнопка, своя ловушка и свой способ ненароком убить товарища. Каждый уровень — это головоломка, где успех зависит от координации, логики и сдерживания агрессии.
Графика:
Минимализм в кубах. Всё строго, чисто и стильно. Кубы красные, синие, платформы серые — как и ваша надежда пройти уровень с первого раза.
Звук:
Забавный рассказчик, приятная музыка и звук… умирающих кубов. Часто. Очень часто. Слишком часто.
Сюжет:
Есть искусственный интеллект, есть испытания, есть эксперименты. Но на самом деле сюжет — это просто повод делать из вас подопытных на весёлой фабрике боли.
Итог:
Death Squared — это логическая игра, замаскированная под тренажёр для терпения. Лучше всего — вдвоём на диване. Но если после неё вы с другом всё ещё разговариваете, значит, вы и правда родственные души.

Co-op is literally unplayable due to being crippled by steam remote play
Only online play is through remote play, and it always freezes on loading the level. We tried with 3 different hosts and every setting, it would always freeze once entering the level.
You have got to respect the free update years after release

Solo jugue el multiplayer local, muy divertido.
Weak recommend. The puzzles are decent, not too hard, not too easy The base game can be completed solo. Extra levels that require 4 players cannot.
* No online coop, only local coop.
* The game never tells you what the controls are
* I don't like that many "kill you" elements are hidden until they kill you. Spiked floors for example, why couldn't they have unique texture to signify danger? Or moving blocks that kill you? Why aren't they and their paths marked somehow? This is just bad design and these deaths are not fair. The trial and error process of learning what hidden BS kills you is not fun.
* Can't rotate the camera around the level, so sometimes its unintuitive or impossible to see where a laser is, or where to go, or where the secrets are.
* The physics based movement adds nothing but frustration when falling off of edges
* I appreciate the presence of voice acting, but a lot of the jokes are just so supremely dumb and cringe inducing.

it's one of my all time favorite games and I'd like to just tell you all mac users - this game is running on my M1 macbook with latests MacOS Sequia, even though the steam page is convinced it's not gonna work. It works beautifully!
All levels can be played with a friend or 3, or by youself, and some of them are really hard - excellent brain practice! I love seeing how smart my different friends are by testing them how they play this game with me!

리무트 플레이로 4인 플레이 시 두명 이상은 패드어야 함
옵션 설정에는 키보드 키 지정 옵션 자체가 없으니
"누구는 wasd, 누구는 방향키, 누구는 어쩌구.." 가 불가능
나중에 패치로 키보드 키 설정 가능하게 해줬으면...

My controller doesn´t work in this game, while it works in all other games. There is a large thread on the forum with controller issues and the devs didn´t fix it in the last years. The ingame settings offer nothing to adjust controls.

가격이 할인을 안해도 15000원 정도인데 (할인을 하면 90%가까이 할인을 때리기도 한다.)
이 게임, 기본적으로 온라인 멀티를 지원을 안한다.
한 컴퓨터에 모여서 놀아야 하는 꽤나 치명적인 단점을 가지고 있다고 할 수 있는데,
도리어 지금 스팀은 이런 경우 원거리 친구를 같은 컴퓨터에 있는 것 처럼 초대해서 놀 수 있는 리모트플레이 기능을 기본으로 지원하고 있다.
결과적으로, 호스트 한 사람만 게임을 사면 온라인 친구랑도 멀티를 즐길 수 있다는 장점만 남은 상황이 되어버렸으니, 온라인으로 같이할 친구라도 있다면 가볍게 시도해보기 좋을 듯 하다.

Awesome co-op puzzle game. Thoroughly enjoy playing this with my fiance and friends. Some of the puzzles really make you use your brain and communicate with your partner. Very satisfying to complete each level, no matter how many times you die in the process. Eagerly looking forward to new content - I would gladly buy DLC for this game. One of the best couch puzzle games I have played.
Is good
This is one of those Puzzle games where the solution feels really satisfying to pull off. I like the overall vibe and the controls, there is a little inertia to the cubes that feels just right. Whenever I show this game to guests, they are immediately hooked. Smart level design, sharp hats!
For anyone who loves local co-op with friends, this one is a blast. Doesn't even matter if your friends play games - they will get the hang of it. Easy recommend

Pretty dope little puzzle game. Unfortunately, doesn't get as insanely difficult as other puzzle games but great nonetheless. One complaint I have is that I wish I could play party mode by myself but the game requires 2 devices be attached and all my dualshock controllers broke because they're cheaply made trash.
