Solid game. It features a variety of unique classes and, more importantly, a randomized skill system that makes every run feel fresh. Of course, you can still 'fish' for specific builds. The ~21-minute sessions with three boss encounters feel great. My only gripe is the current lack of content.
Game feels abandoned, i dont care if the devs are planning a master rework of if it is in early access, hire more people, do what you need to do, but you need to be considerate of your players, who wants to wait a year ?
btw i made a coop mod for it, but it will probably break on the massive "rework", and then maybe i will remake/update it, "maybe".
i dont really like the devs, and i know my coop mod would increase sales even if for 1% (because i am thinking on making a networking system for online coop, currently my mod is local or with remote steam only)

At first I was upset seeing how quickly every indie dev tried to copy Vampire Survivor, but honestly, Bullet Heaven is a great genre that makes for a good springboard for creativity and iteration. This is the only one I've put any serious amount of time into, and it's changed a lot over the last year or so, but it's still very fun. Different characters with different skill trees with unique passives, Hades style gods with different blessings they offer you, Diablo-style loot to slowly build up so you can start cranking the difficulty tuners up and face harder and harder runs. Very nice to drop in a few casual runs in between other games.

Sanat stilini çok beğendiğim için oynanış videolarını izledim ve indirimde de olunca bir şans vermek istedim. Piksel sanata bayılan birisi olarak gözüm gönlüm şenlendi, karakter tasarımları ve o idle animasyonları resmen ayrı bir hava katmış. Hem tanrıların çizimleri hem ortamlar hem de minicik piksel piksel bile olsa o karakterler... Hepsine bakmak çok zevkli.
Aslında en az on saat oynadıktan sonra inceleme yazmayı düşünüyordum ama çok eğlendiğim için dayanamadım. Türü seven herkese şiddetle öneriyorum. At it's core, it's the best survivors-style game so far. Runs take around 20 minutes each, which is the perfect time in my opinion. The power-ups are all interesting, and there are many different kinds of builds to go for. You are given ways to tailor the upgrades that you receive through skills and items. The item system lets you build your character the way you want to. You keep all items on death.
Why the downvote? Because it's dissapointingly short, and the endgame is seriously lacking. I've already reached the endgame after just 7 hours with only 3 different maps, and it seems that the entire endgame just consists of buffing enemies in different ways in order to have a higher drop chance for very rare items. It needs a lot more depth if it's going to be taken seriously when contending with Halls of Torment, Megabonk, and Vampire Survivors.
All in all a solid game with lots of replayability, but it needs a lot more content. I hope they expand on it.

Cultured character designs, fun & addicting Vampire Survivors-meets-Diablo-meets-Hades combat, unique builds/skill trees, plenty of itemization, and a "Darkness" system for ramping up run difficulty with modifiers (similar to Heat/Fear from Hades).
An excellent second monitor game - you can be playing while having YouTube on a second monitor. There's 3 Acts (currently), devs shared there will be future Acts & more content.
For $7.00 dollars, it's an easy positive recommendation!

I love Roguelites. This is one of the best of them I have ever played. The visuals, the worlds you fight in and the enemy types are really fun and enjoyable. There is a lot of progression and content to sink your teeth into with various worlds and plenty to explore in them, character progression with item looting and loadout building and various different characters which are all very different. I love this game so much. I play it on my OLED Steam Deck and the colours and visuals just POP on that screen, it's perfect. I also play it docked on my 4k TV and it runs at 60fps flawlessly. A game that is always in my library and which I can easily play for a 20 minute run up to a few hours consistently ever since I bought it years ago.

You see son, when a Hades, Diablo 3, and Halls of Torment love each other very much, they use genetic engineering to make Death Must Die.
I love the style and visuals. The sound design is good too, and I appreciate that the story so far is light.
At its best, it can feel like blasting through Torment X Nephilim Rifts or the absurdity you can achieve in Risk of Rain. And I've barely unlocked anything yet!
I cannot believe that the roadmap includes plans for dungeons. That's going to be awesome. And they're going to add more to the characters and skills? First time I've found a game I think might be truly slept on. Lordy.
And on top everything, I play this on a MacBook Air, and it runs VERY well.

My favorite survivors game.
Fun game, the item system allows for a lot of build variety that most other roguelikes don't. this, in addition to the voluntary increase in difficulty after each successful run this makes for great replay value. The game is also very challenging, early on you can't do much without your first few items, which makes the start a little annoying. Later on, as you max out the difficulty (similar to hades or abyssus, at the very end with 100 added difficulty points the game is about about 20x as difficult, if not more, based on the raw stats), which takes a while to grind and craft builds in order to complete
Lovely gameplay, art style and OST. I cant wait for the Act 4.
ive enjoyed my experience in this game so far and had a lot of fun mixing and matching some of the gear and god powers, if there was 3 things id change about the game i'd ask for more stages, increasing the difficulty of a stage should reward you with better tier armors (stage 1 at 70 difficulty still gives t1 gear with horrible stats) and lastly i wouldve liked to see the levels not be capped (im sure its there for balancing reasons but it currently feels too limiting). good game, worth the money but lacks things to do after beating all stages realistically unless u want gear with better stat rolls.
I've played enough to unlock all (?) characters. Haven't been in any exciting run yet that made me feel I wanted to go for another run right after. Power ups are just boring.
And I'm gonna be honest, the "homage" to Hades with the gods is kinda embarrassing.

Amazing game! I love this shoot-em-up over any other solely for its great ability to mix in lore, dialogue, and overall immersion into the world while maintaining the basic, yet fun gameplay loop!!!
Literal best game for just relaxing, chilling and playing a game.
I always love the style of games that just allow you to try different strategies, mix things up, just literally have fun KILLING and RUNNING AROUND.
I recommend this game for anyone that likes listening to music, running around and just DOING something on a game.

Die ersten Stunden waren echt gut und ich hab alle Charaktere freigespielt, danach stagniere es etwas, wobei das wahrscheinlich auch daran lag, dass ich mal mit jedem gespielt habe, anstatt den guten Loot auf einen zu verteilen.
Danach ging es aber richtig los und das Spiel entfaltet seitdem sein großartiges Potenzial. Werde ich noch ein paar Runden weiterspielen.
This game is too grindy to be fun. Over seven hours and I can only see the first two bosses. Progression is nonexistent. So much work went into a game that’s so proud to ensure you never see the rest of it. Waste of money. Don’t buy it.

Very well made, I really enjoyed the gameplay and the banter inbetween characters.
This game is a tragedy. It could have been great. There was a time when doing something awesome was motivation in and of itself. It's very obviously dead now and we are all poorer for it. Certainly do not buy this, but mourn what could have been, if people were noble and incentives beyond wealth worth pursuing.

I bought this game based on the content listed in the description.
And, I came back to check the listing because some of the artwork differs enough in quality and style that I thought it might be AI. I wanted to check the store listing to see. I don't support AI.
It doesn't say it's AI, but I'm still doubtful.
But that's not the reason for my thumbs down.
I don't think people should buy this game based on the videos, content, or store listing.
If you go to the news, they are doing some major revamps to the game. If I understand correctly, the game in its current form isn't what they wanted it to be.
So, they are going to revamp basically the whole system. The maps, the combat, the exploration, etc.
I would suggest people don't buy the game until they release the update with all the new systems, because you aren't buying a game that will exist in its current form in the coming months or years (since it's gonna take a looooong time to revamp all the stuff the want).
And honestly, don't buy into people's EA that do feature creep like this.
For some reason, I thought the roadmap said it was almost done, but yeah, roadmap looks like it's resetting.

I have had a BLAST playing this game. The variety of characters and abilities is awesome! I fully recommend this game to anyone that likes the bullet hell style of gameplay.

Fun play loop. Loot is varied enough to encourage hoarding (heh heh *polishes shinies*). Good flavor, although gods' dialogue feels stale compared to their inspiration, and boons sometimes feel unbalanced (like, some are clearly better than others). Lot of mechanics that show promise. Looking forward to see where this goes!

Death Must Die is a fantastic addition to the survivors-like genre of games. The characters are varied and build in interesting ways, while the gods abilities are both fun and well designed. All the summons are a stand out for me, I love the Stone Golem and the Sea Serpent as these large heavy hitters. I enjoyed the three locations, though I spent most of my time in the first, which does lead to a critic.
I don't know why, but the locations within the first area, Outer Circle, don't have the same polish as the later locations. Granted I understand that the others were made later, and thus made with more experience, but the locations in area 3 for example have timers associated: "60% experience for 30 seconds", while the same location in area 1 just says "60% experience". It's odd. Also, the boss arenas in area 3 are unique and seperate from the general world, which feels fantastic and I would like to see the same brought to the other two areas. In general the game doesn't really explain alot, which is fine I think, the FAFO stuff in this game isn't damning and the game is pretty easy to figure out once you get the vibe. Speaking of vibe, its perfect, the sprites are great and the little text boxes are charming.
The gods on the other hand are a mixed bag. I don't care for the VAs, so I turned them way down, but that's not a really big concern. However, I do think that the War god needs a second pass in design, he feels particularly unfinished shading and detail wise compared to all the other gods. I love the designs for all the other gods, Time being a favorite. I know there is a big update coming and I will try to remember to update this if needed. All in all, I really enjoy this game and what it went out to do I think it succeeded [spoiler] Except Killing Death [/spoiler] 8/10

This game is high quality and fun
vampire survivors but more to it. its great.
One of the best survivorslike there is; commands can be remapped to arcade stick, the story (as it were) is interesting with plenty of meddling by the Gods in your fate. When you get a great synergy happening its a thing of beauty to behold; while there being enough RNG in the drops to force you to be creative with what comes up. Good game.
If you like Vampire Survivors or Holocure, this game is worth trying.
There are several characters in the game, and each one has a different specialization, both in terms of their attack pattern, and the stats you get from their skill tree. There's also an item system. The items mostly grant basic stats like damage or cooldown, but sometimes you find fancier affixes like +projectiles. Combine all of that and you can do some fun builds. I like the Knight specialized in Powers, especially Flare.
The game used to have some problem with RNG, but I feel like the situation has improved with the recent updates. You can get a lot of rerolls if you want.
Good to kill time. I feel like some of my characters' skill points disappeared after the updates though, so that might be frustrating since the game is still undergoing changes.
Je suis ravi d’être tombé sur ce roguelite par hasard. Comme quoi, il existe encore des gemmes cachées parmi la multitude de jeux du genre, qui ne bénéficient pas toujours de la visibilité qu’elles méritent.
Chaque personnage a sa propre personnalité, et ça se ressent dans les dialogues. L’action est bien rythmée dès le départ et ne met pas longtemps à décoller (contrairement à Vampire Survivors, où les cinq premières minutes peuvent paraître un peu lentes).
Tout comme dans Hades le choix aléatoire des divinités rend chaque partie différente de la précédente. Chaque personnage jouable possède également son propre arbre de talents, et on récupère beaucoup d’équipement basé sur le RNG pendant les runs, certes ce n'est pas traduit en français mais ce n'est pas handicapant, on a tous quelques bases en anglais. (au pire ça vous forcera a améliorer votre anglais, c'est comme cela que j'ai appris dans ma jeunesse; avec un dictionnaire anglais-français à mes côtés)
Au final, de quoi s'occuper des dizaines d’heures pour un tout petit prix.

I just didn't enjoy this one - the pacing and difficulty curve feel way off with characters being introduced (and needing to be separately geared) way too fast and the first zone being way too easy, while the second zone feels comparatively way too hard and it's not at all obvious if it's a skill or gearing/levelling issue.
Finally gameplay driven game, it's so refreshing nowadays. Highly recommended
It's unashamedly a mashup of Vampire Survivors and Hades, and that's fine. It's really solid, even if the isometric view causes a little bit of difficulty seeing the attack telegraphs. The voice acting is a bit clumsy in places but the characters are nice. The pixel art is beautiful, and the soundtrack is good. If you wanted a bit more complexity from Vampire Survivors or wanted more playable characters in Hades then give it a shot! It's good fun.

Its like that pretty girl you saw before she walked into a north hollywood clinic (metaphorically) and then did in language what people around you were doing. I Really love the gameplay and the graphics, however as it goes with the character designs i think Kront is a really lame character overall as i find it harder to play with him. For the most i love what this game has to offer and i am looking forward to new updates. Now imma just go back to playing
