With that said, I would recommend the game on offer if you pay $0.99, the gameplay is not bad just repetitive. The bulk of this game is a basic three lane auto run with a power-up system, zombie sprites, avoiding obstacles and hit combos. if this is your style of game - this fits the bill

А если серьезно прикольный, зомбисодержащий продукт, идентичный натуральному, как говорится. Попытка разработчиков залететь на хайп ретро-новоделов. Прикольный скроллер, проходится, буквально за пару обеденных перерывов на геймпаде, ничем не нагруженный, хотя на некоторых уровнях можно и попотеть.
Так же есть режим "Марафон" и "Выживший", для любителей пожестче и рогалодрочеров.

Если оценивать, как ретро-новодел, пожалуй [b] 6,5 из 10 [/b]. Могу порекомендовать принять эту игру в дар или докупить уж, если в библиотеке есть все остальные части по Мертвому Острову, для коллекции тксзть)

Likely exists due to a contractual obligation, and starts out really bad but eventually becomes fun to play. It doesn't really feel like a retro game so much as a modern rail fighter with button timing elements. The game doesn't explain the combos, but once you actually know the correct way to play it becomes logical and intuitive.

You can, for example, use a button combo to knock a zombie back and send its head flying to kill all the zombies behind him. If you don't know the combo it's just confusing and annoying, and since the game doesn't explain anything, I recommend looking it up. Also, the points system is bizarre and if you don't know how it works you will get rated 1/5 stars on every level which feels like an insult since there's no explanation to what you need to do. Ultimately, if you can get past the fact that the game doesn't ease you into anything, it's worth playing, though barely since it's still very shallow and repetitive.

Big fan of the Dead Island series and this is a nice little game, reminds me of the old New Grounds games of the 2000's or a mobile game (without the micro transactions). Feels like this could of been a easter egg or arcade game in the Dead Island or another Deep Silver game. Pretty easy and not too much to it (upgrades, controls, characters/enemies).

Es lo que nadie pedia, ni queria. Todos esperabamos un yo contra el barrio y no un juego de qte. Graficamente esta chulo y es resulton, lo cual hace que sea aun mas sangrante que hayan echo semejante cosa. Supongo que hacer enemigos que se movieran y respondieran era mucho trabajo, era mejor hacerlo sobre railes y encima con el sistemita que trae de pulsa en el momento justo y 0 opciones para el jugador. Con una jugabilidad que ocultaron en el trailer a sabiendas de lo que podia pasar. Una oportunidad perdida de hacer algo decente.

Le simulateur de jogging le plus violent de ma bibliothèque.

Ma note : 3 / 5 ( J'ai débloqué tous les succès Steam, cette review est donc pertinente mise à part les blagues à deux balles )

Bref bref et bref, imaginez un instant : le monde s'écroule, les zombies dévorent vos voisins, mais votre priorité absolue n'est pas de trouver un vaccin ou de sauver l'humanité. Non. Votre priorité, c’est de récupérer votre chat kidnappé. Priorités : 10/10.

Le concept :

C'est un "auto-runner" en 16-bit ( et non un Beat Them All donc attention ce n'est pas du Street of Rage avec des zombies). En gros, votre personnage court tout seul (probablement parce qu'il a sauté le jour des jambes à la salle et qu'il a peur de s'arrêter) et vous, vous devez cliquer au bon moment pour transformer les zombies en confiture de fraise.

Les points forts :

Le Pixel Art : C'est beau, c'est coloré, et ça rappelle l'époque où on soufflait dans les cartouches de Super Nintendo.

Le défouloir : C’est parfait pour une petite session de 15 minutes entre deux réunions Zoom (ou deux crises existentielles).

La difficulté : On rigole, on rigole, mais certains niveaux vont vous faire regretter d'être né. Vos réflexes vont être testés plus durement qu'un code promo sur un site de fast-fashion.

Les points faibles :

C’est répétitif. Si vous cherchez un scénario à la The Last of Us, vous vous êtes trompé de porte. Ici, on est là pour le scoring et le sang qui gicle en gros pixels ( et les succès Steam que j'affectionne tant ).

Le gameplay est simple... peut-être un peu trop pour certains. C'est du "Rythm Game" sans la musique de Justin Bieber.

Verdict final :

Je l'ai acheté pour la collection, je suis resté pour le chat. Si vous l'avez eu dans un bundle ou en promo pour le prix d'un café tiède, foncez. C’est rétro, c’est bête, et ça fait du bien là où ça fait mal. Désolé pour la review pas sérieuse mais je reccommande quand même ce jeu pour le fun, c'est un jeu sans prétention qui mérite qu'on s'y attarde un minimum.

Un petit beat’em up rétro sans prise de tête. Le gameplay est basique mais efficace : trois lignes, quelques attaques, des bonus, et un rythme arcade qui pousse à refaire une partie juste pour améliorer son score.

Не сложный survival, а пьяная туса с друзьями на райском острове, который быстро стал филиалом ада. Ремейк 2016 года, который в 2025 году работает стабильнее, но всё так же пахнет ностальгией и разбитыми головами зомби.

Система ударов по конкретным частям тела (ноги, руки, голова) до сих пор бодрит. Разносить толпу зомби различными створками от дверей — это отдельный вид удовольствия.[/i]

[b]Кооперативный хаос:[/b] 10/10. [i]Игра рассчитана на весёлую неразбериху вчетвером. Когда вас несколько, и вы бежите по пляжу, разнося всё на своём пути, — это чистый кайф. Можно спасать друг друга, кидать оружие, или просто ставить машину на толпу и смеяться. Без друзей игра теряет 80% шарма.[/i]

Dead Ilsand Retro Revenge est un Beat Them All, inspiré des jeux d'arcades des années 80-90.
Il est rythmé par une trame et un tas d'autres d'éléments burlesques, bien old school.

Max, notre personnage principal, est un survivant pas vraiment perturbé par l'invasion zombie.
Mais lorsque son chat se fait enlever, il n'hésite pas à se lancer dans une poursuite sanglante à travers la Californie.

Le gameplay l'articule autours d'un système basique : c'est un Endless Runner à 3 couloirs, combiné à des mécaniques de Brawler très dynamiques.
Afin de passer les 24 niveaux, le timing et les réflexes sont essentiels. Il vous faudra esquiver certains ennemis, en contrer d'autres, et éviter les obstacles.
Pour ce faire, il est possible d'exécuter des combos, véritable atout pour grossir son score et obtenir 5/5 étoiles.

Côté direction artistique, rien d'extraordinaire, mais on coche les cases.
Le style rétro est parfaitement respecté avec un style pixelart très flashy, et une bande son tout aussi cohérente.

Le jeu rencontre malgré tout quelques limites (qui sont propres à ce style).
La répétitivité est flagrante, de par ses mécaniques et ses pattern basiques.
Pour l'apprécié, il faut être amateur du genre.

I still recommend Dead Island: Retro Revenge if you are someone who:

enjoys retro arcade-styled games with a clear completionist goal

doesn’t need a massive active online community

is okay with a short-ish playtime

likes the mix of fun + challenge and quirky tone

Un juego muy divertido, pensé que se trataba de un "el barrio contra ti" al estilo de doble dragon, pero no es así. Es, te mueves en tres carriles a velocidad constante y tienes cuatro ataques, arriba abajo derecha e izquierda y cada enemigo que viene se derrota de una forma distinta... es una especie de puzzle... muy divertido y cortito.

Me gusta la idea que una id o franquicia tenga juegos de estilos distintos, esto si que es un dead island para relajarte.

Recomendable para jugar unas 3 horitas.

Dead Island Retro Revenge je spin-off hlavní série, stylizovaný jako retro arkáda. Překvapivě zábavná „blbůstka“, která ale dokáže chytit.

Grafika 10/10 – Stylizace je výborná, připomíná hry z minulého století, a brutalita tomu dodává šťávu.

Gameplay 8/10 – Princip je jednoduchý: dokončit úroveň, přeskakovat mezi třemi liniemi a dělat komba pomocí šipek. Na 100 % je hra docela těžká, občas nefungují hity správně.

Příběh 3/10 – Hlavní motiv je záchrana kočky. Cutscény jsou stylizované pěkně, ale příběh jinak prakticky neexistuje.

AI ?/10 – Nepůsobí jako klasická AI. Enemáci mají pevné vzorce pohybu, jen jedna jednotka volí, na kterou linku vleze.

Shrnutí – Krátká, ale zábavná arkáda, kterou jde dohrát zhruba za 10 hodin. Příběh není důvodem ke hraní, ale hratelnost a stylizace hru táhnou. Hodnocení: 7/10.

Představte si, že je rok 2016 a vy, stejně jako my, sedíte na trní a netrpělivě očekáváte Dead Island 2. Místo toho se ale v digitálních obchodech objevuje Dead Island Retro Revenge, jako bonus k remasterovanému balíčku Dead Island Definitive Collection. Zprvu jsem byl rozčarovaný. Co to má být? Jakýsi podivný automatový "spin-off", který má za úkol utišit náš hlad po plnohodnotné zombie řeži? Nakonec se ale z retro hříčky vyklubal překvapivě zábavný a stylový kousek.

Nová tvář, staré pocity

Retro Revenge se s přehledem odklání od původní hratelnosti Dead Islandu. Pryč jsou RPG prvky, otevřený svět a realistické zbraně. Místo toho se setkáváme s klasickým "beat 'em up" stylem, který bere inspiraci z kultovních automatových her z 80. a 90. let. Hrajete za hrdinu, který si prosekává cestu hordami zombií a pošuků v postapokalyptickém světě plném krve, humoru a retro atmosféry.

Hra běží v takzvaném "endless runner" režimu, kde se postava automaticky pohybuje vpřed a vy ovládáte pouze její směr, útoky a speciální dovednosti. Na začátku mi to připadalo trochu omezující, ale po chvíli jsem si na to zvykl a začal si to užívat. Hra je rozdělena do tří hlavních lokací a každá z nich nabízí unikátní výzvy a nepřátele. Čas se na vás neustále tlačí, a to dodává hře ten správný náboj. Musíte rychle reagovat, chytře používat speciální dovednosti a hlavně – být kreativní v masakrování hord nemrtvých.

Jednoduchost, která baví

I přes svou jednoduchost se Retro Revenge neokouká hned tak. Nabízí totiž hned několik herních režimů, které hratelnost ozvláštní. Kromě klasického příběhového režimu si můžete zahrát i na čas nebo si vyzkoušet speciální výzvy, které otestují vaše dovednosti. Hra také nabízí systém kombo útoků, za které získáváte body, a různé power-upy, které vám pomohou v boji. Celá hra je přehledná, svižná a nechybí jí ten správný "arcade" pocit, který se dnes už jen tak nevidí.

Grafická stránka je čistě stylizovaná, a to se mi na ní líbilo nejvíce. Pixel art je dnes velmi populární a v Retro Revenge je proveden na jedničku. Hra vypadá skvěle, postavy i prostředí jsou detailní a vše je plynulé. Je vidět, že si tvůrci s vizuální stránkou opravdu vyhráli. Hudební doprovod je plný energických synth-rockových melodií, které se k retro stylu hodí naprosto dokonale. Je to prostě radost poslouchat.

Verdikt

Dead Island Retro Revenge sice nenahradí Dead Island 2, ale jako samostatná hra obstojí s přehledem. Pokud máte rádi staré automatové hry a pixel art, a nevadí vám, že se hra drží jednoduchého konceptu, pak nebudete zklamaní. Je to příjemné překvapení, které se nesnaží být něčím, čím není. Retro Revenge je ideální na odreagování, pobavení a pořádnou porci krve, násilí a bizarního humoru.

Даже не пытайтесь получить все ачивки, зря потратите время. Я не знаю, кто эти 7% всех игроков, и сколько они потратили на это время, но они явно ненормальные (пройти марафон, выживание и выбить на всех уровнях 5 звёзд, seriosly?!).

Ребята не стоит играть в эту игру. Вы молодые, шутливые, вам все легко. Это не то. Это не диабло и даже не варфейс. Сюда лучше не лезть. Серьезно, любой из вас будет жалеть. DDRR Sets out what it was set to do. Emulate the old style beat em up arcade game style. However it also brings with it the bullshittery as well.
The game is Difficult, borderline unfair at times. Hell, theres times where you have to take damage and bite the bullet in order to advance. I love the artstyle, its not bad. Story is goofy but entertaining as well. Its just the gameplay lacks so much.
As much as i love my Pookie bear; Jack mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Black, this game is the second weakest dead island game in the series so far. Below Riptide, but above the dookie ♥♥♥♥ known as Escape dead island.
Oh if only Jack blacks character was in Dead island 2.

Overall, i do not recommend getting, well, at all if im being honest. Unless you really like pain. You freak.

Weird storyline, fat jack black looking retro gamer that has a cat and wants it back from the zombies or something like that. Plays like a mobile game, its an auto runner where you change lanes and hit enemies. There are barrels or enemies that you need dodging. If you dont memorize a level you could use a powerup too early and cannot proceed. I only watched the first level, new where the gameplay is going and decided to quit. Content slop at its finest.

This game is great to 100%, IF survival mode wasn't a Buggy, Rage inducing mess. There is so much going on that the game sometimes looses track of which enemies/walls are dead/broken and alive, causing in some random life losses (or gameovers). Also, if you break the power-up/heath box off screen it DOESN'T DROP ANYTHING which is even worse when you on your last life and need a health drop.

Got this game part of the three game deal, and wasn't planning on playing it but as its one of the only games I can play on my laptop, i gave it a try. (and aren't I happy I did)

WOULD RECOMMEND :) , BUT if your looking for a game actually worth $7, don't get it as it has only taken me under 7 hours to get all starts on all the levels and it feels like this should be a free mobile game, BUT if you'er looking for a easy 100%, GO AHEAD

I can appreciate when people try new ideas and they don't work out. How else are you to know if something is a good idea or not? This game is like an endless runner mixed with a beat em up. You change lanes to hit enemies as they approach to gain points. Is it truly a "bad" game? No. The art style is pleasant and the gameplay loop is easy to understand and perform. This is a game that is trying something different and it's not going to land with a lot of people.

I never made it past the first level. True, I only put about 15 minutes into this game. I tried the first level about 8 times in that time frame. There is a segment near the end of the first level where you have to damage boost past exploding enemies. It's a cheap trap for new players. Getting to that part without taking too many hits isn't that hard but if that is the idea in the first level it will certainly only get worse as the game goes on.

The point system is a neat idea but the problem with is that to maximize points you have to wait for enemies to practically be touching you before hitting them. The way that the game throws enemies at you really shows that you're not intended to wait that long before hitting enemies. It's really a catch 22. You need points to progress and get things but good luck racking them up.

作为《死亡岛》系列衍生的一款横版跑酷小游戏，可以说除了名字以外和死亡岛毫无关联，强说的话也就是这里也有丧尸、暴徒、对抗军队的元素。没有太大意思但也不至于算作垃圾，唯一优点是熟练以后打起来爽感还行，总的说大概有及格水平，毕竟主打的就是怀旧街机风，上限不高。可玩，但不要单独买它（更别原价买）

最大的问题还是在它和死亡岛没什么关系，而且存在可能的虚假宣传（游戏名字和游戏玩法）。差评也主要集中在最早买了这个游戏的那批玩家，因为是真不值十多块，而且没多少玩的内容。现在进了捆绑包作为填充包价值的存在（其实也是挺讨厌的操作），只能说还算可以，就纯当换口味的小游戏玩了。

游戏本身玩法就是简单的跑打丧尸（人物自动跑），上下躲避然后用几个方向的攻击，和两个特殊技能扫清面前的敌人。剧情几乎没有，糊里糊涂的讲了个肥宅末世救猫的故事，最后发现其实是“他”在打游戏（不知道是不是在调侃玩家），然而丧尸危机此时真的在“现实”中爆发了······游戏有一定难度，但不是太手残通关还是不太难的，只有成就有几个挑战度较高。

If you’ve seen my other Dead Island review(s), you know that I'm not a big fan of this franchise, but this game is actually good and fun.
I mean, I wouldn't buy the game if it wasn't in the Dead Island Bundle I purchased, and I definitely wouldn't buy it for the full price (the maximum for me would be $1.99), but even though it's just a short 16-bit game, I actually consider it by far the best game in the Dead Island Franchise (I only played Dead Island 1, Riptide and this one yet to play Dead Island 2).
Beating the Game is easy, and it would maybe take you like 3–4 hours, but the real fun lies in the achievements.
These are actually quite challenging, but nonetheless great to do and feel really rewarding once you get them (Especially referring to the 5 Star in Story Campaign one and all Marathon/Survivor Mode achievements).
I think if you’re just looking for a Dead Island game, this might not be the one for you since it's really different from the others, and if you’re looking for a 16-bit game, this also might not be the one for you since the character doesn't stop/constantly runs, and it's only possible to change the lanes; but if you’re looking for something new/different and somewhat challenging that isn't on the frustration level of a super meat boy or something like that, this is the game for you.
I really do enjoy it and think that the achievement hunt that I yet have to finish, really improves the experience.

Achei atemática e o cartoon bem legais. Jogabilidade de dificuldade progressiva. Combos e mecânicas de <^v> perfeitas com opções de power-ups e armas secundárias. É bem divertido e se torna bem difícil, mas pelo fato que as teclas são usadas de forma bem inteligente no pc você fica crack sendo rápido e ágil, e sabendo como funciona as vantagens extras durante o percurso...

Adorei a opção do Q e E ou Shift e Espace pros especiais, e o fato que é muito sangrento e visceral de forma bonitinha.

Just a simple retro arcade style game. Lots of different levels and you fight your way through waves and hordes of zombies. Good to pass the time but wouldn't buy it on its own. Only have it because i got the definitive edition.

When I bought this game I thought I was getting a modern take on an old school beat-em-up.
I guess it's my own fault for not reading the reviews.
So here I am sitting in my room...all sweaty and stinky from playing this game.
I broke a sweat just by mashing all these buttons. My thumbs are numb and I have a slight headache.
The game is not totally bad tho...if you are one of those freaks who likes games that make you sweat for no reason...go ahead it is fairly cheap.
But other than that...it's better to go play something else I suppose.

поначалу интересно проходить но потом просто бесит в итоге надо тупо заучивать уровни а не играть в них управление не удобное уровни очень душные

I didn't like it because of the character's constant running without stopping
If the game was fighting with enemies without running, it would be more beautiful
