The worst game I’ve ever played.
I got all the achievements in Dark Souls 3, had one of the best gaming experiences of my life with Dark Souls 1, and completed Elden Ring. Then I decided to see what Dark Souls 2 is about. I didn’t come as a hater, but as an explorer.
Half of the internet says it’s the best game ever made, while the other half says the complete opposite. When I started playing, I realized it’s not that bad. Sure, there are issues like enemy placement and the punishing HP reduction, but I was prepared for that - I’m not a casual player. I managed to beat the first two bosses without much trouble.
However, when I reached the area with the ships in the background, I got stuck. And no, it’s not because the area is too hard or the enemies are unfair. It’s because of the combat system.
I’ve heard many criticisms about Dark Souls 2, but almost no one talks about this. The combat feels slow, unresponsive, and sometimes my attacks don’t even register, even when I have full stamina. Like when I press the attack button, but the attack doesnt activating, like I did nothing.
I really want to enjoy this game and understand why so many people love it, but I just can’t deal with the combat system. I can’t fight properly when I don’t trust my weapon.
Maybe there are some tips or mods that could help?

Особенно переиздание, разрабам руки целовал, столько накидать мобья на локации это ♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game has been absolutely slandered.

True this game is frustrating in all the ways that a FromSoft souls game should be frustrating. You will lose your souls, and it's ok. Gaming purists will cite things like ADP and punishing death mechanics to justify giving this entry a poor review, and while the first few hours of the game will undoubtedly push someone new to the genre to their absolute limits, it is 100% worth it if you're willing to suffer and push yourself through the first couple bosses. The game demands that you understand its core mechanics to progress (one of those being, when to run and when to fight).

The story is well hidden behind your ability to interpret clues and lore as usual, but if you take the time and have the memory for it, Drangleic and the surrounding worlds provide another 10/10 installment for an exploring gamer to immerse themselves

As someone who came to the genre from Elden Ring and has since played through the entire series, my hot take is that I enjoyed DS2 over DS1. It introduced a number of quality of life improvements (respeccing, the ability to select when to opt in to a NG+ cycle, better jumping, a bigger world, fast travel, etc.) Purists might say these things detract from the experience, but I think they made for a better gaming experience overall.

While it's not the first game I'd recommend, it's still one of my personal favorites.

It's like really spicy peppers. It hurts to touch, it hurts when you think about touching it, it even hurts to be near it sometimes, but I LOVE spicy peppers. Take everything you complained about in ds1 and 3, but reimagine it a little bit more painful.
Poison: Way stronger but also shorter duration
estus: Way less and also way harder to use: ya gotta stand still for like almost 2 seconds every time you take a sippy
weapon durability: on average much lower then the other souls games, but it instantly refreshes to full at bonfires
pathing: somehow more open ended that anything but Elden Ring. Pick a path, hit a dead end eventually, rinse, repeat, then backtrack because you got a fragrant branch of yore and you can now open a new area back where you started. Very confusing, but also very fun to learn.
weird running: If you bottom out your stamina, it can sometimes stop you from running if you don't kinda. flick the joystick, then hold b again. Even if you have regened mana to full. Don't know why, just the way it goes.

Don't worry though, hidden in all the pain is frankly some of the coolest things ever. duel wielding move sets that slap, Massive amount of regen consumables, awesome bosses, interesting level design, and a leveling system that frankly feels the best out of all the souls games in my opinion with respec options. Haters told me all my dark souls career that ds2 was not worth it and they were super wrong. I frankly but this before 3 in my personal ranking of the souls series, leaving it almost neck in neck with DS1.

For a long time I did not like Dark Souls 2: Scholar. The camera is jank, the hitboxes are jank, losing max health on death is jank, the skill system is jank. At surface level it's a worse game than DS1 or DS3.

Except that it isn't, it has grown to be my favorite of the trilogy. The world has more color to it, the zones are more varied, the enemies have decent AI (usually), it has an awesome mechanic where you can set a particular zone to be leveled up so you can fight a boss a second, third, fourth, etc. time at higher difficulty but greater reward giving you early access to items you would normally only get when replaying the game after beating it. And all the downsides I mentioned, you can learn to overcome. They're not gamebreakers, they're just another obstacle to make the game hard to learn.

So I do recommend DS2: Scholar. BUT. You have a choice to make. You can play Scholar, or you can play the original DS2. Scholar is not just DS2 with improved textures; it's essentially Dark Souls 2 hard mode. The difficulty comes from how the first zones of the game are rebalanced and have way more enemies in them. Scholar is the most unfriendly to new players of the entire franchise, barring maybe Bloodborne. But Dark Souls 2 the original is not; it has a very friendly progression and is objectively a lot easier. Not easy, but easier. So if you are entirely new to the franchise, the original Dark Souls 2 might be a good entry point giving you the practice you need to take on an Elden Ring. Scholar is not, it will have you for breakfast. With enough practice it's still the easier game of the franchise though.

Where either version shines is in how it allows you to completely break the game. There are dozens upon dozens of character builds you can do that are ludicrously strong, allowing you to one or two hit bosses. This is possible on all three games but Dark Souls 2 not only has way more options, but also most builds are possible to do quite early in the game if you are willing to do a little sequence breaking here and there. From doing a build based on poison to one doing dark magic or creating a Hulk that smashes enemies with two giant swords, the items and/or spells to turn you into a god are there and not hidden out of reach at all. And when you become that god, the game is so much fun.

Dark Souls 2 is friggin' good. Flawed, but really good. Use the wiki though.

I went into Dark Souls II expecting it to be brutally unfair based on what people say, but honestly… it just wasn’t that hard. It feels more like a game that punishes impatience than anything else. Once you actually slow down, learn enemy patterns, and stop panic-rolling everywhere, it clicks.

A lot of the complaints seem like people not really adapting to how the game wants you to play. It’s not trying to be impossible it just expects you to pay attention and improve. If you take the time to learn, it’s actually really manageable.

The bosses were a big highlight too. They felt versatile in design, but still enclosed enough to make fights tense and focused. You’re not just running around endlessly you’re in these tight, pressure filled encounters where every mistake matters. It keeps things exciting without feeling overwhelming. Overall, it’s way more fair than people give it credit for. You just have to meet it halfway.

In all seriousness though, no. This game sucks. It’s definitely the worst in the trilogy, in my opinion. None of the bosses are particularly memorable, and you get ganged up on by mobs far too often. There definitely are some memorable moments, especially towards the end when the credits roll and you know it's finally over .

This game is not nearly as bad as a lot of people say. Yes, ADP is a horrible stat that should have never been in the game. Yes, the game does feel pretty janky, even compared to the OG Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. And yes, there are a lot of BS areas that make you want to pull your hair out (the King’s pets, iykyk). All these things made me not want to play through the game for years.
But then, I finally manned up, and persevered through the ganks and plethora of mediocre bosses, and found a game I will be replaying in the future much like the other games. It has so many neat additions that really help to give the game it’s own identity and replay value like bonfire ascetics, power stancing (before ER), and even human effigy and lifegems, which I did not like when I first tried getting into the game, eventually grew on me and posed an interesting risk vs reward method to healing, and gave you consequences to dying, unlike DS1 which felt like the game was the same in hollow and human form other than invasions and co-op.
The bosses are a little hit or miss though. Some bosses are great and beat out the majority of previous entry bosses. But for a number of them, I could just tell the developers were on a time crunch and needed to fill some areas up ASAP. When the bosses are good, they’re good, but when they’re bad, hoo wee it is rough.
Overall, great game with a lot of jank and issues, but also so much charm and good ideas as well.

This is my favorite game of all time. Between Xbox, PS, and PC, easily a few thousand hours. It is hard to get working, you will have a struggle getting the keybinds right, disable double-clicking every time you load a character, and you should definitely launch through Special K (Alt+Enter if it loads in a black scree). But this is honestly the only game I would ever go through all this trouble for.

The game gets an incedible amount of undeserved hate, but is it the best souls game? hell no. It is on tier with the other two dark souls, with some stronger parts like bonfire ng+ and introducing features that later became key parts of the series like not making you play half the game to teleport; however some issue are there, adapability stat is clunky and annoying to have to level, healing being over time for estus is bad and things like doors closing after death is dumb, not to mention some of the bosses being boring with large health bars and braindead movesets. Overall a serious 9/10 game (dlc and platinum included closer to 8/10)

This game is a mess, but it's a carefully constructed infuriating mess made with love. I really like the art design of the enemies, armors and areas but good designs are kind of a staple of Fromsoft. This game simultaneously has some of the highest highs in the Souls series and some of the lowest lows. Still, I enjoyed my time with it despite the frustration and occasional BS.

First thing you would hear from people is to avoid this particular game. I was skeptical so I went to try it and I did not regret doing so. I levelled my ADP all the way to 27 to not get hit by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hitbox. Here are my thoughts:

The good:
1. If you just finished DS1, the combat feels miles better. I could dodge in 4 extra directions unlike in DS1 while locked-on.
2. Fun gimmicks especially in [spoiler] dragon shrine. The clips of the atrocious runback to the ancient dragon is simply because you don't fight the huge dudes on the way up. Quit being dishonest. [/spoiler]
3. Majula.
4. Life gems. These were very helpful if you want to clear areas without spending estus flasks.
5. Being cursed won't kill you.
6. Fast travel is available from the start.
7. Build varieties. I'm yet to try other builds as there were so much items in the game.
8. Fashion souls. You get to either kill a boss with drip, or die with drip.

The bad:
1. Levelling ADP was kinda burdening, but the game's ganking mechanic allows for soul farming without even soul farming.
2. Still drinks estus flasks while standing still.
3. The character literally attacks in the direction you're facing. So if you're used to rolling followed by a light attack, your character will simply attack the camera.
4. Bosses were underwhelming but they were not necessarily bad.

If you are planning a blind playthrough of the game, you will be stuck for a while. Just use the internet as a guide man. Overall DS2:SOTFS is a 7/10.

Yes, it's the worst dark souls game. No, it's not a bad game. DS2 feels a bit less polished than the other games in the trilogy, but it's still great. Fromsoft tried a lot of new things with this game, some of which worked, some of which did not, but ultimately I'd rather they change their formula up with every new game than just rerelease the same game over and over with better graphics (except Bloodborne, please rerelease it with better graphics)

设置界面都能搞得堪比吃大粪，真的闹麻了
不建议任何新人玩，真的玩两个小时能吃满两个小时的屎。小怪1+2我觉得没问题，牛魔的你1+10，打一个冒出来一群。某平台xz也只会发那几张破图敷衍新人然后吹的天花乱坠，快滚你嘛的吧
哈哈，说实话，这是唯一一个让我毫无探索欲望的魂，地图一坨屎我不知道到底谁在吹这玩意历代最强地图设计

如果把魂2单独拎出来看，它其实是一部还不错的游戏；但如果把它放在黑魂这个名字下面，它就显得格外尴尬。前有开宗立派的魂1，后有技术力全面升级、完成度更高的魂3，魂2正好夹在中间，又不是宫崎英高亲自操盘，于是很多人一开口就把它骂成系列之耻。
但真玩下来，我觉得它没那么不堪。最基础的层面，画面、贴图、动作、光影，肯定是比魂1进步的。更重要的是一开始就能篝火传送，这一点对我来说简直是质变。魂1那种从巨人墓地灰烬湖靠腿跑回来的体验在我看来纯粹是无意义的受苦
当然该骂的地方确实不少。战斗手感一堆迷惑设计：喝药站桩、喝多少吐多少；锁定跟没有一样，大武器经常七八刀砍空气；再加上莫名其妙的适应力，不点这个谁能想到翻滚无敌帧都不够用。再配合祖传堆怪，什么熔铁城亚伦足球队、阿玛纳导弹发射基地、黑溪谷毒雕像窝、还有典中典白内障雪原，很多时候真是恶心到懒得骂。
NPC也是类似情况，如蜜看着热闹，一大家子在夕阳下其乐融融，结果聊两句就发现全是空壳，对话翻来覆去那几句，世界都被你打穿了他们还在原地复读。
不过魂2也有不少好东西。双持系统把Build玩法的深度拉高了不少，填火也是天才设计，多周目体验直接提升一个档次。地图在结构探索上其实也很不错，尤其DLC里的黑雾塔，我个人觉得是前两作里最好的单体地图之一。再加上港口、雪山、大海这些场景，在魂系里也挺新鲜。
所以这游戏给我的感觉就是一部非常矛盾的作品。优点和缺点都特别明显。对我这种包容度比较高的玩家来说，大概能给个 80分。但它最大的问题也恰恰在这里，它偏偏是一部正统魂，如果当年它只是个类魂新IP，会不会也能成为经典一作呢。

Dark Souls 2 gets way more slander than it deserves. It’s the Souls game everyone loves to dunk on, but if you actually give it a fair shot, it has a weird little charm that makes it stand out from the rest. Drangleic feels dreamy and slightly off in a way that’s hard to explain—like you’re wandering through a fading world that doesn’t quite follow normal logic. Now yes… the fact that your dodge i-frames are tied to a stat is, frankly, ass. Early on your roll feels like you’re dodging through molasses until you level that thing up, and it’s one of the strangest design choices in the series. Once you invest in it though, the combat smooths out a lot and the game starts to feel much closer to what you expect. Beyond that, the build variety is fantastic, powerstancing is incredibly fun, and the game isn’t afraid to experiment with areas and mechanics. It’s definitely different from Dark Souls and Dark Souls III, but that difference is exactly what gives it its personality. It's calm, it's moody, and it has the best hub without a doubt.

Dark Souls 2 SotFS clearly feels very different in style and atmosphere compared to the other games in the series. With this title, FromSoftware attempted to refresh the formula they had established in their previous games by introducing several new ideas. While some of these innovations successfully expanded and enriched the Souls formula, others unfortunately led to design decisions that caused Dark Souls II to gain a reputation as the “black sheep” of the series among parts of the community.

One of the most controversial mechanics is the health penalty on death. Each time you die, your maximum health decreases until you use a Human Effigy to restore your human form. After multiple deaths, your health can drop to nearly half of its maximum. While this penalty becomes less impactful later in the game, it can be quite punishing during the early stages when Human Effigies are limited.

Another issue is the heavy enemy density in many areas and the extremely long enemy aggro ranges. It often feels like enemies will chase you through nearly the entire zone, which strongly discourages the classic Souls strategy of running past enemies to reach the next checkpoint. It almost seems as if the developers intentionally wanted players to fight through every encounter.

Aside from these issues, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is actually a significant step forward in several areas compared to Dark Souls. Combat variety is greater, NPC interactions are deeper, and the bosses and story presentation feel more cinematic overall. The atmosphere and soundtrack are also fantastic—especially when you first arrive at Majula. The calm and melancholic Majula theme that greets you and accompanies you throughout the game, along with many of the boss soundtracks, is a feast for the ears.

However, this positive momentum unfortunately lasts mainly until Iron Keep. After that point—especially with areas like Shrine of Amana—the game begins to amplify the previously mentioned frustrations, turning some sections into a rather irritating experience.

Despite these problems, I still enjoyed Dark Souls 2 more than many modern games that try to imitate the Souls-like formula. Contrary to what some people online suggest, this is definitely not a game that should be skipped when playing through the Souls series.

The Bonfire Ascetic system, which sadly never returned in later entries, is an excellent mechanic that allows players to essentially increase the difficulty of specific areas and refight bosses. The system involving petrified NPCs and enemies—where you choose who to free and when—also gives players meaningful control over progression and storytelling. In fact, the NPC questlines in this game are some of the best in the entire series.

While it certainly has areas where it could have been improved, Dark Souls 2 is still a fantastic Souls experience overall. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre and wants to see how the series evolved over time.

There are two kinds of people who played Dark Souls II: those who played it at [url= https://store.steampowered.com/app/236430/DARK_SOULS_II/] launch in 2014 [/url], and those who played Scholar of the First Sin years later after finishing other Souls games.

In hindsight, I can’t blame people who disliked it at release. The original version was a messy, undercooked game. However, that was the early version. The one most people play today is practically a different game.

Despite being the black sheep of the trilogy, I still have a soft spot for it. Much of the hatred surrounding Dark Souls II is legacy criticism from its launch period. Many Souls fans who avoid it today don’t really know the context behind that reputation which is a shame.

It’s the easiest game in the trilogy and probably the most bloated, but its high points are still very high.

Not for the faint of heart, there are a lot of flaws but overall a really good game 7/10.

As is the case with a lot of people, I was put off of Dark Souls 2 due to it's newfound reception as the "Worst in the Series" -- so after going back and trying it after completing virtually every FromSoftware game, I'm mad I ever skipped over it... this game is fantastic.
It's buggy, has confusing world design, tons of weird gameplay mechanics (e.g. Soul Memory; Branches of Yore) and an almost alien progression for the main story.
However, they are such a nice spice to the original format established with Dark Souls 1 (Interconnected levels in which you can explore at any point -- with getting equipment solely being tied to your skill level), that it adds, quite possibly, the most ammount of experimentation and player-choices towards creating a build/character, with so many strange and seemingly unrelated worldspaces to act as sandboxes for you to be tested in or co-operate in. I think the many complaints about the "Lacklustre world design" are missing the point that the team were going for (Or atleast I think they were -- in any case, they succeeded), which is to have such large swathes of interesting spaces and enemy variety to comb your way through in any build you have. You can easily spend 20 minutes just in 1 area after a Bonfire Ascetic is burnt; trying out a new re-spec and testing any new toys you've found.
Also, the focus on co-operation/covenenants/pvp is just so nice. I think I sometimes found DS3 and Elden Ring so boring after a while simply due to the fact the areas were just "Grab and Go to the Boss Door". whilst the design of DS2's levels are incentivising you invade/co-op through and have strategy against the actual enemies in the level, with the boss being a capstone to the stage; not just the star of the level you speedrun to get to -- with Co-operative play leading to actual victories of the whole level rather than just the boss.

IDK... this game is so jank but so enthralling. It is probably the most replayable DS game of the 3; with 1 being a close second and 3 being so linear and mind numbing after a first playthrough you don't feel enticed to try anything different in it (aswell as the fact 3 just doesn't even bother to encourage you, with the forced respec cap and removal of spices/ascetics/powerstancing/stones... Yah alot got removed). I can always just have fun in 2. There's near infinite possiblities. "Yh Just put a lightning stone on this ladel and respec for a Faith Ladel build"..

Good Game -- DO TRY!!! And don't be afraid to summon people or invade! it's highly encouraged! :D

First of all, Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin is an amazing game. No, it's not bad by any means, but certainly is the most controversial.

THE 5 MAJOR COMPLAINTS OF DS2
For the course of time, you'll hear things like "DS2 is the worst souls game", "ADP is garbage", Enemy placement is ridiculous", "The story is not good", "The bosses are bad", "Human Effigy is a bad game mechanic" and so on and so on. NOW, I will tell you all the truth. No bias, no rumors and no hate. Only what I experienced throughout my journey in this game:

1-ADP is garbage: The ADP (adaptability) is an exclusive stat only present in DS2. It is tied to your character's agility, which means it increases your I-frames (invincibility frames) when you dodge and roll. It's crucial that you spend some points here because otherwise you'll get hit hard and die a lot even if your character clearly rolled out of the way. And yeah, I can see why people were upset about this, because it can be an inconvenience, however, I don't mind. Yes, I like ADP. Mainly because it adds so much to your overall experience building your character. It doesn't take a lot to reach the Soft Cap, so all in all, it's alright.

2-Enemy placement is ridiculous: Absolutely! I got jumped and ganked so many times and it's annoying. Hordes of enemies will spawn out of thin air just so you have no escape. Iron Keep is one of the worst areas in this case. But come on, you know why this happens? Yeah, because you're rushing the area and trust me, this will not work. Take your time killing everyone that could pose a threat. Even if you have to do the run back to the boss room. Once you do that, it becomes a little tolerable.

3-The Story is not good: Not at all. The story is great and deeply interesting. I loved the NPCs in this game. I loved how much the environment tells a story. DS2 story is more "intimate". The bearer of the curse is one the best protagonists in the souls series and the journey through Drangleic is unforgettable. If you want to watch VaatiVidya lore videos, just do it. You'll appreciate it more with the context which you missed.

4-The bosses are bad: Yes, gameplay wise, they are. I mean, most of them are. Thing is, they're not as memorable as DS1 bosses nor are they like the spectacular DS3 bosses. Not even close. But eventually you'll learn to appreciate them in their own right. I can count 4 or 5 bosses that were genuinely good. But that's my opinion.

5- Human Effigy is a bad game mechanic: No, it's not. By the middle and certainly at the end of the game, you'll have a lot of human effigies, so they don't become a problem anymore. Also, it's one of the most important items in this game for lore and gameplay reasons. Period.

These are the 5 criticisms of DS2 that I heard the most. So I thought I could share my perspective about them.

DS2 IS UNIQUE:
That's the main reason this game clicked with me so hard from the very beginning. DS2 has so many exclusive mechanics such as power stance, ADP and Bonfire Ascetic to name a few. Also the attention to detail in this game is off the charts! It uses a different engine from DS1 and 3, and personally I love it. The game is beautiful. Yes! Just arriving in Majula is something special. I cannot describe my admiration for all the Armours, weapons, places, vistas, covenants and music. In comparison to DS3, they're much more well made. Also, your character has way more personality in the way they move, their posture, their stance, their breathing. And you will not find this either in 1 nor 3, which is a shame.

CONCLUSION:
Notice how I didn't share my thoughts about the "DS2 is the worst souls game" in the beginning? Well, I will say this here: It's not. DS2 is just way too different from what you've experienced in 1 and 3. And people can hate those differences or (in my case) love them, but these differences don't make the game bad. So, when you hear someone saying "Skip DS2. It's not worth it". Pay them no mind and play it for yourself. Give this one a chance and see if you'll enjoy it for what it is. I can assure you, everyone involved in its development poured a lot of love and dedication into it, even if this game passed through development hell and Miyazaki wasn't personally involved. Furthermore, always give it a try so you can draw your own opinion. Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin is not only the first Dark Souls game I did 100% but also is my favorite Dark Souls game. Yes, I love it and I totally recommend it.

And always remember these words, Bearer of the curse: "Bear, seek, seek, lest".

もしかしたら、ソウル１、ソウル３、エルデンが合わない人の方が合うというタイプなのか？
いちおう、ほかのソウルとはここは明確に違うと思う点がある
よくわかりませんが、こいつだけは、ほかのソウルとは違うんだと思う、ゴールデンアックスとファイナルファイトくらい違うかもしれん
敵の攻撃がテンポがよみやすく、遅い、もっさりしている点
これは、ほかのソウルと明確に違うと思う、明らかに遅い
オリジナルのソウル２はクリアできていない、途中でやめた、ソウル系は大体クリアできない、でもこのバージョンはクリアできた、おそらくこのバージョンは難易度調整されたんだろう

接触魂游这么久，经常听到的一句话就是魂二开除魂籍。实际上没有意义，不管游戏主要是谁负责的，FS社的一众员工在创作时都是互相支撑的一个整体，所有的贡献都应该得到尊重，作为这一系列游戏的爱好玩家，不应该做出这种拉踩甚至分家的行为。更何况，黑暗而令人绝望的世界观架构，鼓励探索的同时恶意不断的高难推图逻辑，以及作为餐后甜品的BOSS设计，魂二精准建立在所谓魂游的核心内涵之上，又何尝不魂。游戏本身质量高低，还是需要亲身体验，对于魂游爱好者而言，魂二也是不得不品的一环。
就个人而言，确实也是很担心魂二的游戏体验，所以是三部曲中最后一个玩的，先玩魂一再玩魂三最后才是魂二。刚开始进入游戏，确实是很不适应，相比于魂三，画质包括操作的手感令人感觉这两个游戏相差了有十几年，谁能想到其实两个游戏的发售也就差了两年左右。相比于魂一，两个游戏实感都是很古早，但和魂一相比又有种说不出来的怪异感，可能是与负重，耗精等一些小设定有关。该喷的还是要喷。第一，魂二引入了适应力的设定，并不是说创新不好，但体验下来前期实在有些难熬，到了后期不像是因为适应力点高了所以适应，更像是玩家适应了不死人的性能这样一种外在的自适应。在前期不点高的情况下做什么都是慢吞吞的，整个操控体验就像是在玩一个自带延迟的残疾人，而在游戏前期，有相关游戏经验的玩家都会需要多点红条绿条来提高推图时的容错，这就导致升级点数存在取舍，魂二的开荒难度个人认为甚至是要高于魂一的。第二，魂二喝果粒橙的速度实在是慢的逆天，一般情况下躲过BOSS的连段都能抓个后摇喝口药，魂二这喝药速度有时候BOSS第二套都打到脸上了还在那里品茶。打傻大个还好，碰到骑士亚伦这样高性能BOSS的时候，很难找到补给的时间。第三，魂二的翻滚以及跳跃手感是需要一段时间适应的，在游戏初期，经常因为不习惯导致地形杀，比如落地后的自带翻滚坠崖，又比如魂一魂三中鸡肋的跳跃，在魂二里则是多兰古雷格轻功，使用场景也广泛了很多。第四，也是魂二战斗时受到吐槽很多的一点，也就是软视角锁定，右摇杆锁定了还不管用，有时候一定要人正对着怪才能打中，不然就在那里乱挥。特别是拿大锤重击的时候，好不容易精力起来了蓄力一击砸地板，实在是享受。好在有些怪也是软锁定，算是公平。别的槽点就不提了，总之即便是老资历，玩魂二也需要一段时间才能适应。
魂二同样也有一些不错的设定，值得称赞。个人愚见，这些设定都与谷村在设计关卡时强调的策略感精密联系。首先是滴石的设定，实则是最后的怜悯，这相当于玩家能够用一种十分经济的方式获得近乎无限的容错，包里常备99个滴石，无论是推图还是打BOSS，都是比果粒橙更加安全，更加泛用的恢复手段。要是没有滴石，玩家在推图时绝对会更加步步为营，好不容易推进BOSS房可能就已经没药了。其次是弓箭，或者说拉一打一逐个击破的艺术让魂二玩明白了。玩魂二时绝对不要想着跑酷，基本不能像打BOSSrush那样直冲关底，绝对会死的很惨，小怪仇恨远，雾门无保护。而且魂二一打多的能力实在是差，加上堆怪比魂一严重，特别需要这种勾引的策略。历代本家魂游包括类魂中，魂二是我唯一一个被迫妥协使用弓箭推图的，特此感谢法洛斯门径的毒箭。第三我觉得是比较可惜的一点，魂二的武器分为斩击，打击和刺击，不同种类的武器在面对不同弱点的敌人时明显有特攻，比如穿着重甲的敌人就用大棒这种打击类武器，魂二的设计思路在于不希望让玩家一把武器从头砍到尾，在完整游戏流程中面对不同敌人做出最佳的出装搭配，包括各种属性特效的服装也是出于此。很可惜在后世之作中几乎看不到这一点的延续，但我认为这是挺成功的。至少让我这个魂一黑骑士剑，魂三冰直，只狼楔丸（doge），法环狗刀这样懒得体验其他装备的玩家在游玩魂二时还是准备了三种类型的武器各一把。第四，武器和装备耐久，在我看来耐久低不算是魂二的一个缺点而是一个优点，毕竟这就更加考验玩家在推图时的策略，让玩家不能肆无忌惮。不像魂三中武器耐久仅仅表明一种传承根本用不着去铁匠那里修也不像法环那样干脆抛弃祖宗之法没有了复杂的耐久度设计，魂二的轻击重击包括战技对应不同耐久损耗，都是需要随时考虑的。（！三龙之戒已损坏！）此外像1.5倍力量的双持以及不同武器双持攻击的模组，需要破坏的地形，隐藏门，魂二都有，有些设定也直接传递到法环之中，无不体现制作者的用心和思考。
魂二的整体流程是比较完整而宏大的，剧情在这里就不便透露（不看讲解玩完了也不太懂）。大致流程和魂一魂三差不多但更加饱满，绝对的量大管饱。像魂一先敲两口钟去王城，然后收集尼特，小德隆，希斯，温床之魂，最终去初始火炉击败葛温传火。再像魂三击败法兰不死队、神明吞噬者、巨人王尤姆、双王子，然后回到初始火炉面对薪王化身。魂二的主线流程也是这样，先是收集四巨物的灵魂无论是流程还是游戏内设定都是致敬魂一，然后前往王城。但是至此仅仅是主线流程的一半到三分之二左右，接下来还有阿玛纳祭坛不死灵庙安迪尔之馆卫龙巢穴龙祭坛等流程玩家才能了解世界的真相，进而回到王城渴望王座3BOSS连战完成传火。（治病要收集四王冠涉及DLC则更加复杂）从魂游最温馨的家如蜜出发，玩家有多条路径可以选择，这一点比魂三前期相对线性的流程要好，满足玩家的探索欲望，再到最后从王城出发的线性流程，又增强了实现最终目标的宿命感。如果说魂二的大框架塑造的出色，那么单一地图的小箱庭则比较欠缺，地图之间的衔接也比较生硬。印象中比较出色的小箱庭几乎没有，虽然有很多单向门，闸门，升降梯，也有不少岔路，但似乎主路都在一眼所能目及的地方，前期的几个地图比如说巨人陨落之森，密港，以及罪人塔那一带的设计还是比较在线的，而像后面两个巨物，腐败物以及蜘蛛公爵，这两条线的设计则大多是在室外场景，立体感相对欠缺，偏向于一本道。王城后的阿玛纳祭坛，龙祭坛，安迪尔之棺等则也有类似的问题。地图的衔接生硬主要体现在环境变化太快太大。可以理解作者是想要把尽可能多的素材呈现出来，表现出这样一种多样性，但是这种花花绿绿的贴图转化太快，各个地图体量又没有一个明显的侧重，就给人感觉什么都有，但什么都不突出。当然，游戏明显是砍掉了许多废案，比较可惜的。比如说打完蛇女居然直接坐一个电梯上了熔铁城，显然这里的设计不合理哪怕是向下坐电梯我也能给你洗洗，应该是砍掉了一张地图。再比如说很多感觉很重要的地方，看上去很大，逼格很高，实际可探索的区域十分有限。这也对应刚刚说的，各个地图体量都偏小且没有突出差异。像熔铁城，以及腐败物，蜘蛛公爵两条线都有预算不足之感。包括王城，都是用不了多久就探索完了。虽然情有可原但客观来说确实是拉了，小箱庭的设计与历代魂游相比只能打个低分。虽然魂二的探图奖励还算是比较丰富，但是历代最变态的堆怪量，仇恨范围以及陷阱和恶意，加上地图设计上的一些缺陷所减少的玩点，可能是劝退玩家的主要原因。就我这样一个算是中等资历的魂游玩家，也会受不了这样一个推图难度，产生明明知道有些地方还没探索干净，却也想快点打完BOSS进入下一个区域结束这场折磨的想法。
不少魂游地图恶意排名都会刻意的将魂二排除在外，如果要把魂二也算进去，综合考虑人物性能等一系列要素，可能会占据半壁江山，甚至一个神人图连接下一个神人图，可见魂二难度之大。这里不妨列举一下，巨人陨落之森的足球队，刚进游戏就是当头一棒。遗忘囚笼足球队衔接茫然三基、钟楼五石像鬼以及七狗屠薪，相信不少玩家玩到这里就要受不了了。狩猎森林也是实至名归，四大名捕衔接红灵衔接泥头车，我到这里真的是狠下心连打了十二次把怪都杀绝种了才打的马车。地上全是毒洞的流油谷衔接另一个全是毒的推土塔，喝光我的滴石。熔铁城绝对的重量级，突刺的铠甲兵，远处的重弓加上魂游历史最远的仇恨范围，离你十万八千里你都没有看到的一个怪会慢慢向你走来，这一段的推图同样享受，我也是把怪杀绝种才解恨。（感谢有这个机制）蜘蛛公爵这条线相对而言不太恶心，这是因为腐败物那条线实在重量级，废渊是个不错的地图设计，但是个人感觉和病村真就是亲兄弟，一样的阴间一样的堆怪一样的下面是悬崖的木头架构。但更绝的是谁能想到后面还有一个一样重量级的黑溪谷，一排一排的喷毒雕像，地上钻出来的侧面钻出来的虫子怪，绿的诡异的环境，玩的是真的恶心。王城也不是啥好东西但相比于后面的阿玛纳导弹基地根本就算不上什么。至于不死灵庙，龙祭坛，画面没有那么恶心，但是又换一种方法恶心你，王盾前的那条路，以及古龙前的那条路，要是触发仇恨那就是面对十几个精英怪级别的围攻，好在这里都可以直接冲雾门。怀念香木以及法洛斯之石的设定则是明摆着告诉玩家这里有东西，交钱放行，但是前期这类道具相对稀缺，玩家还需要做出取舍。特别是法洛斯之石，有些完全石制作者的恶趣味，没有任何意义，如果是能够解锁隐藏区域那确实不错，但有些法洛斯之石，比如说熔铁城和壁外雪原的某一个，石头塞进去给我出来一滩水，何意味？再比如法洛斯门径，十几个石头槽位有几个是有意义的？
魂二的BOSS设计还是延续了魂一的思路，更像是辛苦探索后的一份甜品，BOSS性能同样残疾，对于魂游基本功扎实的玩家而言，打BOSS基本上死不了几次，滴石管够不贪刀的情况下很多都能一遍过。BOSS战的表现力包括演出场景放到现在是已经不能看了，不少BOSS也比较凑数，但在魂游中这并不算是很致命的一个缺点。同样也有几个设计的比较有交互，打起来比较有爽感的BOSS，就本体而言，咒老师，假冒翁斯坦，罪人，熔铁恶魔，镜之骑士，王盾这些BOSS还是能给人传统打滚立回的感觉的。当然魂二的连滚耗精惩罚比较大，有些时候可以靠纯走位和距离把控来应对BOSS的出招，这样往往能多贪几刀。
最后再来谈谈魂二的三个DLC，我觉得真的是各有特色，而且弥补了本体在小地图设计上的不足，都非常的有设计感，也充分展现了箱庭功底，可能经费充足的情况下本体也本能做成这样。DLC1圣壁之都，地底王，整体的场景给人感觉就像是在玛雅圣庙探险一样，各种需要打击触发的机关，非常考验眼力和想象力。DLC2黑雾之塔，算是弥补了熔铁城的遗憾，塔身箱庭可以说是本作最佳，魂游史上都能排的上号。纵轴上的设计十分精妙的链接了塔的上中下层，特别是拿到高温铁棒插入之后，整个塔简直活了过来，使得上下连接十分方便，同样存在触发式喷火机关，可以用于清怪。DLC3冰冻的埃斯洛耶斯，需要先探索拿到巫女之眼才能打冰老虎进而进入主楼解除整个城市的冰封，打开冰封的宝箱。在探索途中还能找到三个洛耶斯骑士，有种为团本招兵买马的感觉，而通过小路穿过山洞得到骑士街钥匙，方能解锁更多区域，并探索壁外雪原。令我印象最深刻的是断桥处的设计，这里似乎是在致敬魂一画中世界半龙女处，需要从下面弯弯绕绕过去，但玩家会惊奇的发现有一个雪球似乎与环境格格不入。为什么这里有个雪球，果然打一下会发现又是一个触发式机关，雪球越滚越大，滚到断桥上清空杂兵然后正好堵上了断桥供你直接回去。三个DLC的设计皆富有解谜的感觉，明显是花费了更大的功夫精心设计的。DLC2更是封神，因为地图设计相当好的同时也为玩家带来了可以说是魂二最佳的三场BOSS战，蓝高达，烟老师，丝滑哥，这三个BOSS都很有交互，而且性能完全可以放到魂三里，算是魂二里很有挑战的BOSS了。而且DLC做到了探图服务于最终的BOSS战，我觉得这是非常值得学习的，这使得前面的探索真正具有了意义。比如说DLC2需要用探索到的小铁棒去插烟老师房外的四个雕像；DLC3需要探索找到三个洛耶斯骑士，使得白王战真正势均力敌。当然三个DLC共同的问题还是难度上确实不友好，DLC1的小怪人均韧狗，还不吃毒箭，双刀哥不打尸体直接打虚影则更是强的没边，还要设计盗墓三基这样毫无意义单纯恶心的BOSS战。DLC2则是在蓝高达前包括亚伦前设计了超级多的怪，使得跑到BOSS房前都要脱层皮。至于DLC3，各种精英怪攻击带特效给我一种黄金树幽影螺旋塔三大高手的感觉。还有壁外雪原真的是人做出来的吗，这个时有时无的雪盲，又空又大的地图，能见度不足五米还时不时出来雷霆小马给人创飞，最终只是为了打两匹招式和冰老虎一样的黑老虎，意义在哪？
写了这么多，魂二优缺点都是很明显的，每个玩家对此都有发言权。但是想要真正get到制作者内心，并从游戏中得到正向反馈，可能还是需要一些其他作品的铺垫和游戏经验的积累的。如果说魂游世界从一名手拿断剑的不死人开始，到面对一名手拿断剑的不死人结束，魂二的故事发生在遥远国度，可能不过是千年历史中的一个小章节。但从天命不死人，到绝望燃烧者，再到薪王的化身，将魂二视作一个简单的番外，抑或是传火制度上的重要革新，无论游戏内外都是又这个资格并且站得住脚的。

Dark Souls II

La historia de Dark Souls II, o bueno, lo que pude entender en base a todo lo que me tocó investigar, porque, como ya lo saben, este tipo de juegos tiene mucho lore, pero bueno, este juego se desarrolla en el reino de Drangleic, una tierra antigua que se encuentra en decadencia. El jugador toma el papel de un no muerto que ha sido marcado por una maldición que lentamente le hace perder su humanidad. Como muchos otros antes que él, el protagonista llega a Drangleic buscando una forma de romper esa maldición. A lo largo del viaje, el jugador explora distintos lugares del reino: castillos abandonados, fortalezas destruidas por guerras antiguas, pueblos olvidados y territorios dominados por criaturas peligrosas. Poco a poco se revela que Drangleic fue un reino poderoso gobernado por el rey Vendrick, pero que con el paso del tiempo cayó en ruina debido a conflictos, ambición y fuerzas oscuras relacionadas con la misma maldición que afecta al protagonista.

Gran parte del lore está escondido en descripciones de objetos, conversaciones con algunos personajes y detalles del propio mundo. Esto hace que el jugador tenga que reconstruir la historia por su cuenta mientras avanza. A lo largo del juego también se descubren diferentes personajes que, al igual que el protagonista, buscan respuestas o poder dentro del reino. Muchos de ellos terminan perdiéndose en la maldición o en sus propios objetivos. Al final, el viaje gira alrededor del trono de Drangleic y de la decisión de reclamar o no el poder que gobierna el ciclo de la luz y la oscuridad que afecta al mundo.

A mí en lo personal la historia del juego me pareció interesante y bastante profunda, aunque también algo confusa. Como ocurre con la mayoría de los juegos de la saga, el juego no explica demasiado directamente, por lo que muchas cosas quedan abiertas a interpretación. Aun así, el misterio del mundo y del reino de Drangleic logra atrapar y mantener el interés. Algo que sí me hubiera gustado es que hubiera tenido más referencias o conexiones directas con el primer juego de la saga, ya que de los tres Dark Souls este es el que se siente más separado del resto del universo.

Uno de los aspectos que más me gustó del juego fue el mundo y su ambientación. Dark Souls siempre ha destacado por sus escenarios y ambientación oscura y deprimente, y este juego no es la excepción. Los paisajes, los castillos enormes y los entornos antiguos transmiten muy bien la sensación de estar explorando un reino que alguna vez fue grande, pero que ahora está en ruinas, y eso hace que me explote la imaginación porque imagino qué habrá pasado en estos lugares en sus mejores épocas. Recordemos que este juego está cronológicamente muchísimos años después del primero y eso me hace pensar en cómo eran estos lugares hace años atrás. Hay zonas que realmente impresionan por su diseño visual, especialmente la atalaya del dragón, un lugar que me sorprendió mucho y visualmente es hermoso. Momentos así hacen que el juego se sienta muy épico y memorable, aunque eso sí, no todo es bueno; el diseño del mundo y de cómo están conectadas las zonas no tiene mucho sentido. Un ejemplo de esto es cuando llegamos al pico terrenal, ya que en esa zona podemos tomar un ascensor hasta el torreón de hierro y, para los que saben, pues esa zona no tiene mucho sentido que digamos, ya que el torreón de hierro es un castillo gigante con un mar de lava enorme y se supone que el pico terrenal es una torre enorme que va hacia arriba. Entonces, díganme ustedes si el equivocado soy yo, jajajaja.

El sistema de dificultad es uno de los aspectos más discutidos del juego. Dark Souls siempre ha sido una saga conocida por su dificultad, y este título no es la excepción. Sin embargo, en este caso muchas veces la dificultad no se siente tan justa como en otros juegos de la saga. Más que ser difícil por los enemigos o los jefes, el juego puede volverse frustrante por algunos problemas técnicos. Uno de los más mencionados es el tema de la hitbox del personaje, que en ocasiones falla y puede hacer que el jugador reciba golpes incluso cuando parece haber esquivado correctamente. Además, hay zonas donde aparecen demasiados enemigos al mismo tiempo en espacios relativamente pequeños, lo que a veces hace que el juego se sienta más injusto que desafiante.

A pesar de esos problemas, el juego también tiene puntos muy positivos en cuanto a jugabilidad. Uno de los mejores aspectos es la gran libertad para crear distintos tipos de personajes como ya es habitual en este tipo de juegos. El jugador puede elegir diferentes builds y estilos de juego, como caballeros, magos, clérigos u otras combinaciones. Esta variedad permite experimentar bastante y hace que el juego tenga muchas posibilidades a la hora de jugarlo.

Visualmente, el juego también cumple bastante bien. Aunque es un título que ya tiene varios años, los escenarios siguen viéndose muy bien gracias a su diseño artístico. Los paisajes, la iluminación y algunos lugares como Majula destacan mucho por su belleza. Majula, en particular, es uno de los lugares más hermosos del juego por su ambiente tranquilo y su vista al mar; es simplemente espectacular.

Siento que, de toda la saga Souls, este es hasta el momento el más flojo en muchos aspectos, pero realmente no es que sea malo, ya que, a pesar de sus errores técnicos y de que sí, es muy frustrante en ocasiones, no es realmente un mal juego. Siento que está muy equilibrado en muchos aspectos, pero también hay otros en los que no se trabajaron muy bien y creo que no se merece el odio que la gente le da, ya que personalmente es un juego muy bueno y que merece la pena ser jugado.

En general, considero que Dark Souls II es un juego infravalorado dentro de la trilogía. Tiene varios problemas, especialmente en aspectos técnicos del combate y en algunas decisiones de diseño de niveles, pero también ofrece un mundo interesante, paisajes muy bien diseñados y una gran libertad para crear personajes. Es un juego que puede frustrar bastante, pero que al mismo tiempo tiene momentos muy buenos y escenarios realmente hermosos que hacen que la experiencia valga la pena.

Since i know its reputation i hesitatet for a long time with playing DS 2, but after playing the other 2 Souls titles and Elden Ring I was curious enough to give it a try and it was an amazing experience. The pacing is like Dark Souls 1 quiete slow and the different game mechanics require some time to get used to but its just all in all a good souls game, not quiete the immersive world of (the first half of) Dark Souls 1, not the amazing bosses from Dark Souls 3, but it got its own unique charm with interesting lore, NPC quests and some great looking areas with a stunning atmosphere

A massive improvement, mechanically speaking.
Cleaner hitboxes, more build variety, better attack animations.
Most, if not all, enemy attacks can be comfortably avoided by either blocking or stepping aside - timed dodge is an option, rather than a core feature.
I would, however, recommend to consult a guide while playing - the game fails to present some important information (a few doors between areas are barely visible, despite being the intended immediate route).
In the early game, the lack of weapon options may give a wrong impression of how the combat works.
But when it works, it is amazing.
And I fully recommend continuing into NG+. There's enough additional content to spice things up, and the stat increases aren't as severe - and some areas go smoother than on the first playthrough.

最垃圾的游戏之一，黑魂总共三部，唯一一部我根本吃不下的
魂一有全系列最强的地图设计，魂三有全系列最好的战斗，魂二呢，可能有的人觉得他的创新很强，但这真的足以让我们抛弃他的缺点打出五星吗？魂二在我看来的特点是什么？
1、探索性强但恶心，大量法洛斯之石和完全没迹象的隐藏门，大量探索通道被掩盖，很多门来几句没头没脑的话就告诉你现在来不了，那啥时候能来？可能是为了让发现和回想起他的人感到高兴，但如此多散落的设计根本组建不起一份好的地图，捷径多吗，还好，但真正有意义的呢，很少，就这样的地图还不如魂三法兰粪坑和法环的墓地和洞穴，引导没头没尾，狩猎森林我根本不知道咋去，硬是看攻略才知道接下来该怎么做，没有一个人告诉我机关旁多来了一个人，这就是设计
2、难度全靠堆怪，王城第一个篝火旁四个卫兵和一堆小怪根本无法拾取物品，整个游戏大部分区域的大量小怪喜欢藏起来，假死，精英怪、小兵的数量基本不相上下，还没法逃跑，一个个仇恨范围比我命长，玩这游戏要不然当一跑跑半张图的马拉松必，要不然就赌运气硬干，举盾在这帮畜牲面前就是徒劳
3、boss战比魂一还烂，整几个小怪加一两个精英怪、直接整一堆精英怪、设计一个boss但智商比傻子还傻，这就是战斗设计，武器也看不出来有啥特别的，很普通没有任何夸的必要
4、恶意纯纯过分，没有任何遏制，我一玩就知道这不是宫崎老贼做的，要不然给你整个一踩就掉的坑，要不然在你开宝箱时突然钻出来一堆足球队或从箱子里钻出来一坨陷阱，废渊里本来只会射毒的石像有的一打就爆，④🐴npc啥时候入侵完全没个准，你正跟敌人鏖战呢，突然显示谁谁谁入侵，还有熔铁城的某些宝箱，踩几秒熔岩石就能烫死，不是靠啥机关，就是堆数值，我已经很久没见过这么垃圾的设计了
5、垃圾垃圾垃圾的手感，每次整完双击重进游戏都要重新设置，还有逆天软锁，甚至我不知道为啥npc也会有软锁空刀的现象，底层代码也是离谱，元素瓶在这一作几乎没有存在感，加点机制我感觉其实还好，毕竟给的魂多
魂二在我看来没有任何继承魂一的优点，后几作也没有继承魂二被很多人吹嘘的点，纯纯粪作，A到E我可以给到F的那种，我不明白谁在吹嘘些魂二是啥系列最佳、真正魂游，这能喜欢上的不如雇几个人拿鞭子抽自己

Игра неплохая, несмотря на дурной статус. Можно заметить много необычных механик, в сравнении с первой частью, которые перешли в последующие игры. Иногда чувствуются кривые хитбоксы и "телепортация" на кончик орудий некоторых боссов (особенно сэра Алонна), порой раздражало. Ещё в игре не хватает транспорта, а именно автомобилей, они всяко лучше той же вороны. Было бы здорово увидеть культовые jdm авто 90х, например toyota supra, mazda rx-7, honda nsx и т.д. Надеюсь выпустят подобные моды в скором времени.

Есть в Dark Souls 2 что-то такое, что рационально не объяснить. У нее другой "вайб". И мне, лично, этот "вайб" не зашел.

Я честно пытался понять Dark Souls 2, но видио она просто не для меня.

Знаю, что многие считают ее лучшей, другие же неистово хейтят. Я же старался играть в нее непредвзято, чтобы не подпадать под мнение одной из сторон.

Все что могу сказать, из 7 часов, что я пробывал играть, все 7 часов я ощущал не удовольсвтие от игры, а какую-то душку. Все деревянное и медленное, куча мобов, беспонтовые боссы. И какие-то тупарылые и абсолютно неинтересныне локации, постоянно какие-то кривые текстуры с которых ты соскальзываешь, странные шорткаты и тд.

В общем, если в 1 и 3 части мне нравилость играть с первых минути и хотелось исследовать локации. То в 2 я все время пытался себе доказать: "Давай еще чуть-чуть, мб дальше будет лучше."

As hitboxes não são bugadas ( muito pelo contrario ), o estus não é mais lento, e o spam de inimigo se limita a 3 áreas no jogo inteiro, a tal da gameplay plástica é a mesma do ds1, e o gráfico segue o padrão horrivel da época, nada absurdo ou novo nessa parte. Apesar dos bosses em sua maioria serem um LIXO, e a construção de mundo acabar sendo tosca e sem sentido em algumas áreas, não muda o fato que esse jogo tem a maior e melhor possibilidade de builds dentro da série, possui o melhor NG+, melhor PvP, melhor variação de armas e armaduras, e tem provavelmente as áreas mais bonitas da franquia inteira. Não é um jogo perfeito, e assim como todos os DS tem seus respectivos defeitos, mas está longe de ser um jogo ruim. Vá de mente aberta, e não tente buildar como se tivesse buildando no DS1, isso é outro jogo. Não vai agradar todo mundo, mas está longe de ser horrível e sem qualidades como espalharam por ai.

Pode jogar o fashion souls II sim, eu permito.

I really wanted to like this game I really did, but this game is such an insulting pile of mediocrity with very little good to give. Lets get the positives out of the way; the game looks pretty, the environmental design is cool, build potential is good (having two different weapons on either hand is actually viable in this game), and the story and lore is actually pretty cool.

Now the negatives. This game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clunky, the first game was too but for some reason here it is so much worse. Enemy placement is actually AWFUL, Iron Keep is the WORST offender of this its just 30 enemies shoved together in tiny little hallways and platforms that gank you at every second.

90% of bosses are just either fine or decent very few are actually good to great (exceptions being Fume Knight, Burnt Ivory King, Smelter Demon and maybe one or two more). And it doesn't help that this game is so BLOATED, Dark Souls 1 and 3 have around ~20 bosses but this game has like ~40 not including DLC its ridiculous. And I know it may sound silly to complain about more content but again, 90% of this extra content is just mediocre.

The NPC invaders especially in this version are just annoying, there are FAR too many and they aren't even linked to any sort of lore or story like they were in the first game. It especially gets annoying when you kill one and then another one spawns in in the exact same spot like what's even the point.

Also people that say this is the hardest of the trilogy, that's just straight up not true. Level up adaptability to like 20 and you find out that this game is a cake walk. And another thing, the feature where you can hit out of walking into a fog wall is not as big a deal as people make it out to be. Most of the time you CAN still just run past every enemy and go through unscathed, just not when there's an enemy right beside it.

Overall there ARE some good things about this game but its just so bloated and so poorly designed that those things don't really add up to anything for this game. (Sidenote: screw the achievements in this game, why would you ever require someone to invade 500 players for one pyromancy. And that workaround where you have to go into ng++ is just dumb).

Вот и перепрошел я DS2 - не самая лучшая часть лично для меня, но давшая нам в свое время много новых механик, которые мне очень понравились на тот момент.
Огромное множество локаций, и в некторые из них без пузыря не разобраться как попасть.
Мобы иногда тут очень даже раздражают а боссы наоборот, являются просто безобидными тушками.

Для любителей Souls-like рекомендую к обязательному ознакомлению.
Не каждый дойдет до конца, но если вы взойдете на трон, без гайдов и нервных срывов...
Считайте что вы одолели самого себя.

DS2 truly went all in and changed so many systems that one might know from the 1st and 3rd entry. Although I don't like some of the systems and the fact that it's mass instead of class (what a gank fiesta at times), the world is simply stunning. Once you're in the flow, the game is not only gorgeous, but also very interesting to explore. The combat is, as you'd expect, great. Overall I feel like the bosses in DS2 are the easiest, but the sheer amount of them makes up for it. I just question the mental health of some of the level designers, namely the ones responsible for Shrine of Amara, the Frigid Outskirts and obviously our fan favourite, Black Gulch.

玩到铁之回廊实在有点恼火了。
刚玩的时候只完了80%的本体，觉得满分10分可以给到6-7分。在玩了魂3法环后回来玩，只觉得这什么神人软锁定＋神人手感，和手里涂了胶水有什么区别？目前40小时，印象里只有黑雾塔和遗忘囚笼是比较好的地图设计，其他的不知道在玩什么，要boss没boss，要战斗没战斗，要探索满图放一堆数值离谱怪和陷阱你探索去吧，清完怪给一堆枯萎草鹅卵石什么石乱七八糟的，我又不是神农我要这些干嘛，外加随便被入侵我玩你的那个。

优点：武器强化石多，可以多尝试不同武器推图；很多跳跃点其实还挺有意思；偶尔几张很优秀的地图，但是不足以给人（至少对我来说）玩下去的动力，毕竟其余的不是阿玛那祭坛就是熔铁城，要么就是索然无味的像是蜜港，辉石；一些地图的美术还不错，像海德塔，如蜜；最后：说他没战斗有点过分，只能说感觉他的战斗风格和其他的魂完全不同，更鼓励玩家不要（不要不要）去跑图硬干，而是体会步步为营的那种紧迫和成就感，但这就很筛选人了。。不是说这样的方式不好，而是似乎只有这一种办法，如果想像1和3法环那样跑图就得付出很大很大代价。

Welp, this is the most over hated game of all time.

I got into the Souls Games early last year after playing Lies of Peak and then diving face first into the From Soft pc catalogue, going DS1, Sekiro, Elden Ring, DS3, then Nightreign, and all their DLCs (pour one for Seki-GOAT) before getting into this because of the horrific reputation it has as being the absolute worst in the series. In fact, I was originally never even planning on playing this game because everything I'd heard and seen about it seemed laughably bad. As if it took all of my least favorite things from the other From Soft games and slapped them into an absolute hair pulling abomination. But after beating DS3 and Nightreign I realized it'd be kinda dumb to actually have DS2 be the one and only From Soft game on PC that I never played, so I waited for it go on sale, and played it. And I gotta say, wow, the hate for this game is so undeserved it's actually insane.

[h1]TLDR[/h1]
This game is not perfect, but no Souls Game is. I love DS1, but I also must admit that it has some very jank hit boxes, the worst lock on in the series, and PGs and thieves will literally turn you around 180 degrees to back stab you. DS3 is no different, between the dogs, very little build variety due to the linear map design, and honestly, outside of the Grand Archives, probably my least favorite areas in all of From Soft. But they're still great games. If all you do is focus on the negatives, sure, they seem like ass, but DS1 still has probably the coolest map I've ever seen a video game, and DS3 has some of the best bosses in the series and completely changed how boss fights work in these games.
But DS2 just gets so much flak still, and I feel like it just comes from a lack of patience more than anything else. If you want to do nothing but book it from fog wall to fog wall in a makeshift boss rush then, yeah, go play DS3 or ER. But if you want to actually engage with the areas and the enemies in them, as I do, then this game is for you. The bosses aren't that amazing outside of a few, but the areas and world design more than make up for it to me (and that's coming from someone who puts boss fights typically before everything else in a video game), and while there are some areas and runbacks that are simply ass, when an area is good it is very good. Just don't run past enemies, bring a bow (or some form of range) to help kite for the mid to late game, get to 99 agility, grab the Ring of Binding, and you should be fine, and I hope you enjoy your run through Majula as much as I did!

That said, here's the detailed version of why people dislike this game and my experience with it.

[h1]Agility[/h1]
Agility is a stupid stat, I'm not even gonna pretend like it isn't. Basically, your i-frames in this game are not reliant on your character's equip load as much as it is a stat named Agility, which can be increased by upgrading your ADP. You need 99 agility to have the basic i-frames of a DS1 fastroll, which is the equivalent of having ~24ADP, which, given how easily you get souls in this game, I got to that threshold fairly quickly. So it's not really the issue people make it out to be, but it's not something I'm gonna pretend like I miss in the other games. Now for the real complaints.

[h1]Runbacks and Enemies[/h1]
This is why I had avoided this game. Because as much as I love DS1, I can't pretend like I don't absolutely despise some of the runbacks in that game, especially on my first playthrough when I was still learning some fights. And given how much people ♥♥♥♥ on this game for having some of the worst runbacks in the series, I was expecting a Gwyn level runback for essentially every boss, but honestly, a lot of the runbacks were more on par with say the Gargs: not particularly close, but definitely less of a walk than I was expecting. Also, this game isn't really well known for its challenging bosses, at least, not in the base game, and you will quickly notice that From Soft really made like 4 melee combos and went "yep, that'll do," and simply pasted that ♥♥♥♥ all over most of the enemies and bosses. So the runbacks, while they aren't great, they may not need to be traversed very many times, especially if you've already seen DS3 and beyond at this point like I have.

That said, when the runbacks ARE bad, ho-ly-♥♥♥♥, they are [b]BAD![/b] So, let's talk enemy placement, the other major complaint I see all the time for DS2, but tbh, it's really not as bad as people make it out to be once you understand how the game works. Animations in this game are slow, very slow, and most actions, such as opening a door or even walking through a fog wall, all have some slow startup frames that do not give the player i-frames while they do it. So you can start going through the fog wall into a boss fight, only to then get smacked by an enemy you ran past otw there before you start actually traversing through it, knocking you out of the animation, and then all of the other enemies you ran past come and join the party and, yeah, back to the bonfire. Enemy leashes are also nigh infinite in this game, so good luck outrunning them, as most of the enemies in an area will, indeed, follow you to the ends of the Earth.

But, that's not to say it's that bad, IF you understand this going in and don't make the mistake of just running past every enemy you see. If you engage with the enemies one by one, most of them are absolute pushovers, and then you can peacefully enter that fog wall without any issues. I honestly quite enjoyed the areas because of this. It felt like doing a deathless run: just slowly but surely making my way through the game making sure not to aggro every enemy in an area at once. But that fun does go away the second you die at a boss with no bonfire closer than the one at the start of the area.

Old Iron Keep is probably the best example of this. Honestly a pretty fun area the first time through, imo, but when I got to that boss only for it to do some insane damage to me and send me all the way back to the beginning, yeah, the fun was over right then and there. I killed this boss in 3 tries, but I think it took me over an hour of my life all because of how slow I had to take it, because trust me, there is no getting into that fog gate with even a single enemy still hunting you, and there are a LOT of enemies.

But these style of runbacks were honestly few and far between, and there were even some where running past all of the enemies did indeed work, and when it didn't, once I knew the enemy placement, getting there wasn't that bad since I knew how to properly kite the enemies to me for quick 1v1s. And some areas just had no runbacks of any kind, very few, but it also did show me that this game is very fun when you only have to beat a level once. The first half of Iron Keep was a nightmare all because I died to the boss at the end and had to do it all over again from the start. But the second half had a bonfire right outside the boss's arena with just a single enemy between me and him, and that part I look back on fondly because it was fun, and I only had to do it once (and I, of course, first tried that boss... go figure).

[h]Still a Great Game[/h]
Now, after having finally played this game, while I understand the complaints people have of it, I also think this game is absolutely amazing. There are, I believe, 4 separate bosses that you can fight as your first boss realistically, but if you're willing to farm, you can add up to 5 more bosses to that list, and one is even a DLC boss, which is crazy! The open-ended-ness of this game is amazing to me, and the build variety is also spectacular. I get why people call Elden Ring DS2 2, they're not wrong, there's a lot of similarities between them. It's still not perfect, but damnit if I didn't love my run of this game, and I'm eager to get back into it for some challenge runs, because, much like ER, this really is a challenge runner's haven!

I started Dark Souls 2 immediately after finishing Dark Souls Remastered.

The first thing I noticed was that the lighting had improved. I was immediately puzzled by how the character moves, but I accepted it and moved on.
The hub is beautiful and wonderful.
The NPCs generally explain almost everything to you; it’s enough to talk to the cat merchant after some important events, and you will actually understand something about the plot.

During the first half of the game, I got really into it and didn't understand the hate for this entry. However, at about 3/5 of the way through, I started noticing some obvious flaws—the worst being the left stick dead zones; you will sometimes miss or jump the wrong way, just accept it as a fact. The hitboxes are sometimes janky, as if you're playing an online PvE action game; mobs can "suck" you into a grab—it's rare, but it happens.
Honestly, at a certain point, I just got tired of the ambushes; not because of the difficulty, they just became tedious.
I have nothing against Adaptability.
The game is huge; there are some enemy repeats, but it's not critical. A specific feature of DS2 is throwing many enemies at you—that's just how it is. The bosses are somewhat boring.
This is the entry where many experiments were made; DS2 is much closer to Elden Ring than to DS3. It's a controversial part: some things were wonderful, others were terrible.

There are plenty of weapons, builds, magic, spices, power stance, and exploration is highly rewarded.

When it comes to Dark Souls 2, you should definitely ignore the people who call it a bad game. The game is incredibly enjoyable — so much so that even when I’m outside, I constantly find myself thinking about playing it. It just doesn’t leave my mind.

What truly sets Dark Souls 2 apart from the other Dark Souls games is its build variety and the clearer way it presents its story. The freedom in character builds feels deeper and more experimental compared to the other titles. In addition, the enemy classes are more complex and diverse, which adds another layer of uniqueness to the experience.

That being said, the game is not without flaws. Some boss designs can feel either overly ridiculous or surprisingly easy, and there are very few truly memorable bosses. However, the NPCs are so well-written and impactful that I often don’t even mind the bosses lacking presence. Their stories and personalities leave a lasting impression.

In my opinion, Dark Souls 2 is slightly more story-driven and structured differently compared to the traditional Dark Souls formula. If you approach it with that mindset and evaluate it on its own merits rather than constantly comparing it to the others, you can enjoy it many times more.
