Goodbye Pixelfade you gave us a lot of happiness over the years and I for one will miss the games you produce. I've been a fan since Ace academy and was hoping for a sequel but I guess my hopes will be put to rest. Enjoy your retirement and hope for the best for all of you. Goodbye Pixelfade

Obviously the core story is a bit rote but the delivery of the voice acting and detailed art is enough to make it stand out.
Dropped after 2hrs. Boring...
It's my first time playing a PixelFade game and I generally don't touch this genre, but I really enjoyed Crystalline. It's sad to see the Game Company go, but I'm glad I discovered them before it was too late.
Leanna is one of my favorite female mc's I can remember, glad her and MC got the happy ending :)
I remember finishing ACE Academy and following each update for Crystalline way back when, the characters were charming (Especially Leanna) and the silly jokes in between the party really lifted the dynamic. The developers will be going their separate ways, but their games will always have a place in my heart and steam library, just waiting to be replayed anytime.
Shame these games are going to be delisted. Obviously they’re not revolutionary VNs but the full english VA made them unique and they were fun to read.
Yes.
PixelFade games are being delisted so get the game while you can.
Sad to hear PixelFade games are being delisted. While I had quibbles about things like story elements or events, the way the VAs read a line here or there, or wanting to try romancing the other girls in Crystalline, PixelFade games have invariably been cute with relatively high production values.
Things were much simpler the 5-10 years ago that I played these games. Things change. I can understand the devs' decision to remove the games from sale, but it's still sad to see some of the best-produced English-language VNs go permanently dark.
👍
Predictable plot, but the characters and the various choices make the experience very unique and engaging. Honestly, it's become a guilty pleasure of mine to replay this every once in a while because while it's a generic story the vibe of "hanging out with friends and enjoying the world" it gives is incredibly charming and wholesome.
This game boasts an intricate relationship system but honestly barely of the dialogue changes no matter what choices I make. Only like two decisions change the ending. Jokes are funny tho
Amelia me da medo.
Crystalline is a polished, character-driven visual novel that embraces the isekai fantasy formula while infusing it with charm, humor, and an impressive degree of production quality rarely seen in Western-made VNs. Developed and published by PixelFade, the game transports the protagonist from modern Earth into the magical world of Terra, where arcane crystals power society and mystical creatures roam the landscape. What begins as a bewildering dimensional displacement quickly becomes a warm, lively adventure shaped by memorable characters, lush artwork, and fully voiced dialogue. Crystalline’s greatest strength lies not in its plot twists or world-shaking revelations, but in the way it invites the player to inhabit its cast’s interpersonal dynamics and become a genuine part of their journey.
The story follows a generally linear path, but the moment-to-moment interactions give it welcome personality. After arriving in Terra, the protagonist meets Leanna, a spirited mage-knight who becomes both guide and eventual romantic focus depending on your choices. She is soon joined by a larger ensemble—each with their own quirks, secrets, and emotional arcs. What stands out is how often the game pauses for banter, comedic beats, or heartfelt exchanges. These scenes are carried by full English voice acting that brings nuance to each personality, from energetic optimism to quiet vulnerability. PixelFade’s use of Live2D animation brings characters to life through subtle expressions and fluid movement, making even simple conversations visually engaging. Combined with richly illustrated CGs and colorful backgrounds, the game achieves a level of immersion that many players associate with high-budget Japanese titles rather than indie Western VNs.
The interactive layer of Crystalline centers around dialogue choices that shape your relationships and determine the emotional tone of various scenes. While the overall narrative direction remains steady, your input influences how characters perceive you, how conflicts unfold, and which emotional routes open neatly toward the finale. The romance elements are especially well-handled, offering a gradual, natural progression rather than abrupt declarations. Choices often feel meaningful in the moment—whether you joke with the party, comfort someone during a difficult revelation, or encourage them during an adventure. This gives the illusion of role-playing freedom even when the broader plot remains firmly guided.
But the reliance on character appeal and polished presentation also highlights some of Crystalline’s limitations. For all its visual and vocal sophistication, the underlying story is relatively straightforward: the protagonist learns to adapt to Terra, helps resolve a magical disturbance, and builds bonds along the way. Veteran VN readers may find the narrative beats familiar and the worldbuilding thinner than the visual polish suggests. The multitude of choices can also feel less impactful on repeat playthroughs, as many lead back to the same central narrative line. While relationship outcomes, certain scenes, and ending nuances vary, the branching structure is not as deep or far-reaching as one might expect from a game that advertises its choice density. The streamlined structure ensures cohesion but limits replay depth.
Despite these constraints, Crystalline succeeds admirably at what it sets out to do: deliver a heartwarming, visually impressive fantasy adventure with a strong romantic core. Its presentation carries extraordinary care and craftsmanship, from the expressive character designs to a polished soundtrack that enhances emotional moments and high-energy scenes alike. The writing, though light in its thematic ambition, embraces warmth and humor, making it easy to connect with the cast. Even players who prefer more complex branching designs may find themselves drawn in by the game’s consistent charm and inviting tone.
Overall, Crystalline stands as a standout example of what a Western visual novel can achieve with thoughtful direction and a dedication to presentation quality. It offers an accessible, engaging entry point for newcomers to the VN genre and a comfortable, character-focused experience for veterans seeking a polished, emotionally uplifting story. It may not rewrite the rules of interactive fiction, but it excels in creating a world and cast worth spending time with—an achievement that resonates long after the final scene fades.
Rating: 9/10
I really wanted to like this game, but it just does not click with me.
To talk about the positive first, the artstyle looks good (both characters and locations) and the voice-acting is great! Especially the fact its fully voice acted, wich is rare for VNs, stands out.
But the story is the most bland, generic Isekai-Anime Plot you could imagine.
Same goes for the characters, they just feel like cardboard-cutouts of tropes you would encounter in said Isekai Storys.
As a consequence the writing also feels super weak, and in a genre like visual novel where the writing IS the game thats pretty bad
But if you really like the Isekai genre, this game might be great for you! Otherwise there are definitly other more unique VNs that are more worth reading.
Amazing game, 9/10
After working my way through 3 PixelFade VNs I’ve concluded that we can crown the company as industry-leader in the not-so-crowded field of Schmaltz-centric narrative storytelling. If you’ve come looking for anything else (or even if you don’t think you can handle 15-20 hours of near consistent ice-cream sweetness) then it’s best to bug out and find another game (and developer).
If however you’re like me and you enjoy the occasional fluffy rom-com to break up the ‘serious’ stuff, then you’ll very likely have a good time with this tale of a young college student from New York who ends up in a generic fantasy world and falls head over heels for the first blonde [strike]FBI Agent[/strike] Mage-knight he (literally) bumps into.
The story attempts at least some level of seriousness, but it’s clearly designed to shuffle the characters between saccharine-sweet relationship moments as expediently as possible. There’s some guff about finding elemental temples and fighting a poorly defined mega-evil secret society, all of which connects atrociously, makes nearly zero logical sense and happens regardless of player input, but as it’s transparently meant to provide a low-stakes, genre-appropriate backdrop to the shy-glances, hand-holding and kissing I was willing to get on the game’s level and take it in the tongue-in-cheek spirit in which it seems intended.
The one part which falls down truly spectacularly is the core conceit that the hero wants to go home at all- and give up his magic powers, band of awesome friends and *eyeroll* ‘waifu’ in exchange for… what? A liberal arts degree? Comcast internet? Anime? A few hours in I started amusing myself by making a mental list of ‘reasons to go back to NY’ vs. ‘Reasons to stay in [strike]Ponyville[/strike] ‘Terra’, let’s just say that all the weight gets loaded on one side of that scale- which is subjectively fine, but when a whole story revolves around moving towards an action that seems nonsensical, then, comedy or not, the narrative loses a giant chunk of credibility. Weirdly enough I started getting flashbacks to ‘Spec Ops: The Line’ at points, wondering why I was willingly embodying a guy doggedly marching toward a goal that was a patently bad idea in every way. Fortunately, every time this happened one or more characters would kiss, flirt or be mortified by a sexual innuendo- which magically (pun intended) got me on board with the whole exercise again.
The voice-acting from the main cast is top tier; Amanda Lee and Amber Conners get special mentions for managing to sell their lines even when the writing gets spotty. Nathan Sharp does what little he can with his stereotypical ‘gruff, emotionally distant mercenary’ character, while Natalie Hoover has the thankless task of intoning things flatly and gets the lion’s share of the truly awful lines; mainly due to her character being written as an academic prolix while a great slab of her dialogue has made it to recording without anyone checking the grammar associated with those ‘big’ words- resulting in a mass of noun/verb confusion, subject/verb disagreement, incorrect tense usage and all sorts of other literary misdemeanours which make my head hurt and made the character a lot less likeable. A few extra rounds of proofreading at the script stage would have added a lot more polish.
Look past the somewhat ‘fanfic-y’ vibe that the story gives off though and you’ve got a charming little VN that unless you’re truly frozen-hearted will probably make you go “Awwww!” (at least internally) along the way with some consistency. I’m hardly the sappiest of folk, but this is easy to recommend as a good antidote to a bad day (or a bad break up).
Sorry!
I enjoy better stories with Webtoons for free ":D
But I only reached the first point in the game of any meaningful progress.
Wasn't bothered to proceed beyond that, because of what seemed like slow pacing to me.
Maybe I'm too spoiled with quicker pacing.
Probably has one of the most stock-standard plots of all time, but it's still pretty good.
Zack is your bro for life! 👍😎
that was a good VN, story , comedy and romance are done perfectly , for my first VN it was beatiful
This story is fairly cookie cutter fantasy which I expected going into this, however the voice acting is great, the characters were well written, and the animations were pretty good too. It's a nice 10 to 14-ish hour adventure. I got the true ending and 2 out of the 4(?) other endings but I'm not invested enough to replay and experiment to figure out how to get the others.
This is definitely worth a read.
As the other reviews have said: You've seen the plot of this VN before. It's an isekai where your typical bland protag is sent to a medieval world to kill the Big Bad. That just about sums the whole thing up.
So in that case, why buy?
It has good music and animated character sprites, yes, but that isn't the game's main selling point. No, the selling point is the character banter.
If you've ever played the Tales series, you may know about the skits games from that franchise have. Crystalline is basically Tales skits expanded into a whole game.
I also approve of there being only one love interest for the MC. Otherwise, the game would have the issue of Trails - every female character is waiting on whether the MC will lock in on choosing them, and that could take the whole game. Instead, you have one LI, and the other female characters are free to choose what they want to do romantically.
Oh, and I should mention that this is a "feel good" game. As a PixelFade VN, any "horror", if you can call it that, would be suitable for scaring small children. This is a VN where things are great for nearly everyone, and the good times will continue.
Lovely artwork and voice acting.... and that's really it. Dialogue got a chuckle out of me a couple times, but the plot and characters are so basic that if this were an anime I would not have made it through the third episode, there's just way better stuff out there. Simple plots aren't bad in and of themselves but without biting satire, breakneck lunacy, dramatic tension, or even concerns for a character's safety, I could not get invested.
Once again PixelFade did very well with this Isekai visual novel, the voice acting again was great, the humour and or banter between the characters i thought was amazing, there are some great choices you can make to add to that as well, the art is beautiful especially the background art, it also has the usual tropes of the Isekai genre.
If your a fan of the Isekai genre you will enjoy this.
I know I haven't played long enough to form a complete opinion, but I quickly understood why some people say, "The story is average and the characters aren't memorable," and still recommend the novel. Despite a story that hasn't done anything exciting yet, some of the dialogue choices are hilarious and I found myself smiling throughout the entirety of my play. But once I stopped I found nothing to pull me back to it, and whether I'd recommend it or not ultimately comes down to one thing:
It's supposed to be fully voiced, which is true except for the main character, who is also the narrator. I understand the design behind this choice. Leaving the main character without a voice gives the audience a chance to give him their own voice, but ultimately I found it immersion breaking and hard to follow. In the first twenty minutes, the main character/narrator is about 75% of the dialogue, which meant I couldn't turn my brain off and listen to the dialogue (like I hoped for with a "fully voiced" narrative). I enjoy reading on a good day, but when half of it is reading and half of it is voiced, the thought of getting back into it feels more like a chore than like fun.
For those of you who don't care that half of it is unvoiced--or those of you who prefer it that way--I 100% recommend just because it's quite well written.
Absolutley love this game. A perfect VN.
Exellent Story, music and voiceacting. Perfect blend of story, drama, action, charachterinteraction and comedy. Mostly VN, some minigames.
Main selling point: Only one romance that you are not forced into, but extremly well developt over the course of the entire game.
Not that many choice and the mainstory stays mostley the same, but that isnt a problem at all.
Totally worth the money.
Time for one playthrough: ca. 8 hours
Nothing special, even if it is a nice game.
Few hours into a game and I still don't know what my motivation is beyond "I want to get away from this world back to my old one". I am more or less following along what other think is best for me.
At least for now, game feels nice and shallow.
I like it a lot, a very chill VN with great english voice actors. The conversation feel realistic and I liked all the characters with their little quirks :)
ok
Polecam szczególnie fanom visual novel i graczom, którzy cenią krótkie, przyjemne historie fantasy.
Insgesamt echt empfehlenswert.
W game. Make sequel pls
A beautifully voiced linear Visual Novel. I chose the romance route with Leanna the Mage-Knight and I can only say that it was time well spent. This game is for people who enjoy Visual Novels. There’s nothing particularly new compared to other similar games. If you’ve played a few, you’ll probably already know what’s going to happen, but this one is of high quality. They took the time to create the art and implement Live2D, which was quite innovative at the time it was released. If you like cute romance VNs, this one is for you.
A very beautiful and wholesome story.
I had enough fun with Crystalline to give this an recommendation if you can get it on discount.
Pixelfade has its own take take on well known tropes.
This VN is worth your time, the less you know the better experience.
PixelFade: Please make Crystalline 2.
This is very good. I love the Art. The story is good. The comedy is well done. The length is good for the price. And there is a good chance you may feel emotions reading it. Hopefully, you want all that. Recommended.
SOOOOO COOOOL
This has become my gold standard for VNs.
The con to this is I can no longer tolerate 90% of VNs.
The story and characters are fairly average, mainly just an isekai plot where you fight an evil monster at the end and save the girl. All in all, another nice and simple visual novel to enjoy.
I love this company. Every game they've released is straight up fire. I mean no exaggeration, hands down up there with Atlus and qureate, nis america, etc. I will buy all of they're games, they really create compelling stories and wonderful rom-com scenarios. Die Hard Fan. <3<3<3
✅ Choice-driven fantasy visual novel
✅ Charming romancable girls
✅ Choices can be extremely hilarious
✅ Eye-candy 'jiggle' physics
✅ Fully voiced dialogues
❌ Mini-games sucked and felt out of place
❌ Uninteresting story
❌ No Steam achievements
This VN has become one of my favorites so far. Lovers of fantasy will feel right at home with this one and the characters are well written and you get very attached. The dating/romance aspect of it was very well done and your choices feel as though they truly have an impact. I highly suggest this to anyone looking for a fun, easily digestible VN.
I played through the game, I enjoyed it to a certain degree, and I think it'd work fine as an okay, if simple, linear visual novel. However, it's marketed as a "Choose Your Own Adventure" title. It's the top tag as of now, actually! The problem is... the choices don't hardly matter.
You get a bunch of options, yes, probably even "hundreds of decisions" as the store page says. But, many of those are poorly-disguised exposition that you can choose and it brings you back to that menu with that option exhausted, allowing you to just click them all regardless. It's less of a choice and more of a list of skip-able dialogue that could have simply NOT been a choice to make.
Still, the vast majority of choices to make give you options to roleplay. Great! You can be a classic milk-toast nice-guy, a lustful smug hedonist, or an apathetic voice of reason. That's... well, if you have the imagination and you really get into being the guy you're playing, then you can fill in the blanks and have some fun here and there. The options are pretty consistent, though my least favorite is the
mandatory moment where you suggest Amelia, the underage mage, go seduce a guy and the game grills you for even THINKING that was an OPTION! (Even though you cannot proceed until you do so.)
There's a few more times like this, but this one felt particularly railroad-y. Whatever, I can squint past it, I guess.
Continuing on, we come to the relationships; the game's most highly-praised and well-explored feature. Having said that, it actually is pretty good. The characters are fun, the dialogue itself is fitting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the comedic aspects of the story. I'd say this is the game's bread and butter. If you can look past the choices being a little underwhelming and the single romance option being very... generic, I'd say they did a nice job. Especially the VAs!
Finally, though, I'd like to gripe about one more thing: the endings. In a general sense, mind you, not necessarily the content itself. The problem I found with them was simply that the choices you make, through dialogue and interaction... mostly don't matter. Aside from the obvious difference in whether you romanced the blonde, Leanna, or not, it mostly comes down to this: Did you fail a bunch of quick-time events? Bad ending. Did you do good? Have a whirl at the ending-tron, you can purposely fail the battle (for some reason), you can win by doing the thing, and then you can either go home or stay in the fantasy world with your babe.
It really, honestly disheartened me when I realized that the only reason I got a decent ending was the literal side-attraction mini-games. The choices regarding anything but romance don't really matter, and (try as I might) you can't romance the female lead as anything BUT the classic milk-toast nice-guy.
It super bummed me out since I got ending E, where you spend the rest of your life with hot, cold, steamy, elemental babes. Since I was going for the pervert archetype for the comedy, I pretty stoked before I replayed the game and realized how... hollow it was.
Basically, TL;DR, I feel like the store page built me up for a cool, multi-faceted, character sim where it was actually a very singular, linear story that also has some dead ends you can hit before you get the "intended" True End. If you like isekai a LOT and are hungry for more, I can recommend it for the comedy at least. Otherwise? Sorry, but I'd read something else.
Damn, what an experience. At first I wasn't quite engaged, but gradually got into it, especially with the amount of fun and/or sweet moments involved. Even felt rather empty at the fireworks conclusion, as if I was affected along with MC. And the finale... pure amazeballs. Especially with the true ending, which left me very satisfied with how the story ended. Damn, now I kinda wish I could erase it from my memory and have a full fresh experience yet again. Definite improvement from the ACE Academy.
relaxing rpg
good game
kara and zack are the real main caricatures. ran a long got board too fast. if you have one main girl and cant choose why put a ending E.
I was done the moment I realised they couldn't be arsed drawing in anyone who isn't a MC; or doesn't have boob physics
Crystalline is a great VN, with some well-written characters, an involved story, and nice artwork.
Purchase it Dec. 25, 2019. Refunded it.
Purchase it Dec. 26, 2023. Thought about refunding it again.
Alot of the options feel pretty cringe and outdated.
A game to play if you're tired of harem.
Great Visual Novel. Not the same as all the others out there when it comes to the romance part.
It's not bad, but I think people exaggerate when they say it's one of the best visual novels of all time. There's nothing really spectacular about it, if you have watched anime then you've seen this story. I liked all the characters, even though they were stereotypical. Artwork is very good and I'm glad that the main character isn't a creepy pervert (Unless you want him to be). I still say give it a read, I think most people will like it.
Cannot date the hot guy. Even outside of that it's mediocre overall tho it has a strong start.

Jestli vám vizuální novely nejsou cizí a máte rádi příjemné a zábavné počtení s dobrým příběhem a špetkou romantiky, Crystalline mohu vřele doporučit.

Honestly just a cute game I like it so far also
There is a Braking Bad
reference which came out of left field and honestly made the $5 or so worth it alone and the art is cute.
The Art is not much to write home but if that was all a game is all about then many games from ages past would not be memorable to many. What makes a game memorable is the amount of love that was put into the game and Crystalline is relatively bursting with it. The story is extremely simple but well thought out. Characters are well developed and their story arcs were wrapped very nicely. The world is also well thought out. Info is not given out for no reason it is always a Chekhov's gun which will be used at a later time. Even when some of the arcs felt a bit drawn they always threw in little details, little wrenches and twists which makes it just interesting enough to make it to the next big thing and don't get me started on the voice , although the art as i said was nothing to write home about you can tell the actors poured so much love into the characters. They made the character come to life and in turn breathe life and increased immersion into the game. they cannot be given enough praise and i will admit the song Crystal Skies has grown on me.. Crystalline is a memorable journey,A one time journey however that doesn't make it any less memorable. As our mc said in the game " it is what we feel in the moment that matters" and what feel good adventure this was
Adventure and romance VN
9/10
Finally a visual novel with English voices! Took a bit longer to read than I would have anticipated but I enjoyed the ride.
Top.
I love Pixel Fades take on visual novels especially how casual they feel. The soundtrack was great to listen to while playing through this Vn. The art work and sprites were all clean and easy on the eyes. My favorite part is definitely how unhinged you dialogue choices are and how much they give me a giggle like a school child. All the characters interact with each other like a real conversation, which I especially appreciate in visual novels because other wise they become copy paste rpg characters. Although the characters were all classic anime trope personalities their interactions with the MC and each other really brought them to life. Although I aint no professional voice actor appraiser I believe that the voice actors did a fantastic job. It was a great touch having so many dialogue choices to make throughout the game, however, the choices did not ever really feel like they made much of an impact until the ending. Although the whole novel was well paced and great to read I definitely felt that the ending came on too suddenly. I definitely recommend reading Crystalline it was a fun read, and I am excited to finish the rest of Pixel Fade's VNs.
When I purchased this game I had no idea what I was about to get into. I had tried visual novels before, but nothing that made a huge impact. When I launched Crystalline, however, I was absolutely drawn in.
From the visually pleasing aesthetics and the remarkable voice acting to the intriguing storyline, I was completely captivated and ready to explore the world of Terra. It was easy to get immersed, as the characters were well developed and the choices felt plenty and genuine. The story offers lots of action and unexpected surprises, and as it progressed my immersion grew stronger and stronger.
So, if you like fantasy and choice-driven games, Crystalline is a magical journey you won’t want to miss.
pretty good
another pixel fade banger in the cataloge
it nice
you aint playing as nobody, you're an american white man transported into a fantasy world where they hire someone from wattpad as the writer. the pacing is faster than someone who has premature ejaculation
+cheap
+decent music
+actually nice voice acting, better than anime dubs
for 3 bucks, just grab it i guess
I know it says my play time is low but i did finish the game a little while ago. While this game isn't my favorite visual novel for the price it's awesome. Our mc is simply awesome and even though the story isn't all that deep the characters are lovely. Zach was absolutely hilarious.
i didnt know
i cri everytim
Pros:
Extreme quality of the voice actors
Great animation of the characters
All characters are fantastic
Humor is spot on.
Cons:
Story is nice but unremarkable
Gameplay is non existent or irrelevant
A Strong 7/10
This is one of those "eh, it's ok" reviews. A pleasant read with nice illustrations, though it comes off a bit too generic of an isekai (reincarnated / transported into a fantasy world) story, complete with overpowered "Chosen one" Mary Sue main protagonist. If you're into that genre and style, then this will be right up your alley. If you're looking for a deeper plot and character growth, then look elsewhere.
Perfect for people who like adventure and romance visual novel . I like it so much
It's well written and its sense of humour is one I'm entirely on board with. Twas a fun experience, and the story has depth.
A really sweet story about amazing characters with lots of surprises! Written and voice acted very well too. I played this whole game in 1 night when it was in Early Access 6 years ago, and I'm glad I decided to revisit it.
It was ok, but not great.

I am surprised I haven't reviewed this game, could have sworn I had, but anyhow let me fix that.
This is by far Pixel fade's best entry thus far. Their followup Ethereal Enigma which has the feeling that it is taking place in the same universe falls a little flat.
Crystalline on the other hand has a decent enough story that is most of all wholesome, there is some fan service sprinkled in there but nothing too ronchy. The voice acting as always is top notch, and the main character whose choices you are controlling can be made to act hentai, pathetic, or someone that is somewhat capable.
I think people got the wrong impression since you are locked into one possible romance oppose to ACE Academy that allowed the romancing of all the waifus.
I hope this doesn't discourage Pixal fade from making more VN's like this.
It is interesting, on my first play through I got the perfect true ending. Kind of cool but also kind of killed the desire to go back and checkout the other endings. If that is a con than it is really the only con I can think of that has any merit.
Summary
------------------
The drawings are at a high level for sure.
The plot is simple and without many twists but I can't say, that this is a bad thing. The game finishes with at least 8 different endings!
The music list is including voiced tracks as well as instrumentals without lyrics which correspond to the scenes nicely.
The gallery is not lacking pictures for sure so you will find something to look out there.
Many voiced actors were involved so don't be surprised to hear new voices from an extra side character.
During the game, you will come across mini-games that make a bit of various gameplay.
Last but not least the main characters were animated and the animation is smooth.
I am overjoyed by this game and recommend it to play.

Good 👍
✔️ The illustrations are astonishing.
✔️ The plot is simple and has a few twists but more interesting than "just being there" and makes you wonder how will the story end.
✔️ The music list is not only big just to make numbers but is voiced well and quite suits the game scenes.
✔️ All characters (except the main protagonist) were voiced, and a huge number of them are visualized
✔️ Story is long but the gallery is not lacking, so you won't be seeing much repetition of the same scenes.
✔️ Smooth animation of main characters
✔️ Simple and straightforward mini-games
✔️ Many endings
Bad ❌
❌ Can't see where to find hotkeys/options to change controls. For example, you can use ctrl for fast-forwarding already-read text, but the game doesn't give you any information about this hotkey beforehand.
It is easier to mention good things about the game than bad, but above else, the time you spend playing is enjoyable.
Recommended
This is literally my favorite VN game. Try it out, it's pretty good, fun to read, enjoyable characters, and an interesting enough plot to keep you going. You'll never know if you like it unless you try. Poi poi.
Hello there sailor! ;)
This is a great game and it has an amazing story-line. It's very well made and very entertaining. I would definitely recommend this game to everyone.
Pretty good game, one you expect from PixelFade. Few suggestion to improve would be to add more background for different events of story and maybe add some sort of friend/partner for Amy. I mean age and all is understandable but poor thing is surrounded by couples!
Very buggy when trying to use some very basic features for a visual novel, such as auto-skip. Had to reload saves several times due to ui errors that made it impossible to play. What I saw of the story I liked a lot, but the bugs were so frustrating that I had to put the game down, especially with how many times I had to reload saves due to a bug making it impossible to continue.
The story is very fantasy cliche and frankly there is no options. Its just good or bad ending and for a narrative game that is too poor. Not worth your time.
Best thing since sliced bread.
I played this once several years ago. I am now playing it again. I do like it quite a bit; it's a good visual novel, IMO. Solid characters, decent story, et cetera. Menu functionalities for saving and audio/text logs are decent too, though creating frequent permanent saves rather than quicksaves can be a little more of a hassle.
My biggest gripes:
1. I wish that the dialogue choices had more "serious" options. Pretty minor complaint.
2. Bit too heavy on the fanservice for my preference.
3. Voice acting doesn't always line up with text and there are very occasional mispronunciations.
Nothing negative to say about it otherwise. I enjoy the music and art style a lot. For the price, very worth.
