Mi experiencia con este juego fue al inicio impecable, mecanicas por descubrir, clases que probar y mundo por explorar. una vez que se descubre todo el mundo la curva de dificultad choca contra un muro, practicamente pasas de dar pelea, a morir con cada jefe cerca del final.
al llegar al nivel maximo algo hace click y te reencanta con las estrategias para los jefes secretos.
me gusto mucho, tengo canciones pegadas y tienes muchas opciones para explorar con la jugabilidad.
aun asi no se si lo jugaria de nuevo, es sumamente denso.
lo recomiendo, pero la parte de crianza de chocobos es un error que rompe con el flujo (y la diversion) del juego.
There's nothing really "wrong" with the game. It just doesn't really do anything interesting to keep me wanting to play. I've gotten one little thread of story, and it wasn't interesting. There's so many games I'd rather play. It's cheap, but that doesn't really excuse how... nothing. the game feels

Really good and fun game!
Graphics is good, soundtrack is awesome and i like the final fantasy inspiration.
the achievments were definitely a challenge though, took quite awhile to 100% it but it was worth it.

A great non-story exploration RPG game which reminisced the old classic Final Fantasy 5. It also has good mod supports too (Final Fantasy overhaul my favorite).
This game was amazing, and scratched an itch for gaming nostalgia that I can rarely reach. It took me 111 hours to complete the endgame to a point where I'm satisfied, and it kept me engaged the entire time. There's still a LOT that I know I missed due to just how vast the game is. In most RPGs I get obsessed with finding *everything* but in this, there's just so much that I didn't consider it feasible. And the game doesn't force you to find everything either; aside from some quest items, everything is essentially optional.
I usually don't enjoy "sandbox" type games for long, if at all, so I was skeptical at first, knowing from other reviews that there's minimal story and hand-holding in this game. But it's not quite a sandbox, so much as it's an open-ended adventure that you can play however you want. I had a lot of fun playing with the Class systems and finding equipment, even in the endgame where I was building glass cannon and nuke parties to demolish super-bosses before their turn. The story, while minimal, actually felt "realistic" instead of the usual "save the world from this evil guy" trope. The soundtrack really nailed the balance between pleasant and nostalgic (Even if the Dev is a jerk for having silence in some dark areas where a boss blindsides you. XD)
I really can't say enough good about this game, so if you've got a soft spot for classic JRPGs from the pixel era, this is 10,000% worth the price. I haven't had this much fun since Astlibra Revision. This one earns a special place in my permanent library.
Platformer slop with a thin veneer of an RPG. No substance. This is more of a puzzle game than an RPG.
Great game. Difficulty spikes are tough but I enjoy grinding and it's satisfying to get past them. 10/10 from me
When I first picked up Crystal Project back in 2022, I fell right off it. It appeared somewhat underwhelming at a glance when I was hoping for so much more. Four years later in 2026, I finally took it upon myself to give it another go.
We now stand in that future, where I've put almost 90 hours into the game and have fully completed it, achievements and all. It's hard to explain why it did nothing for me originally but fully captivates me now. The best I can figure was I went into it the first time with expectations that did it no favours. This time was different.
Crystal Project may look like it's trying to be Final Fantasy, but it is not. Rather, it has created a fully explorable world made of Minecraft-like blocks for you to roam, sail and spelunk your way through to uncover hidden treasures and secrets while having an old-school RPG's combat and progression systems stapled onto it. Perhaps it is that initial expectation that makes the game hard to get into for someone like me, as when comparing it to its Final Fantasy inspirations, it is indeed lacking until you reach somewhere in the mid-game. In fact, it might be accurate to say Crystal Project doesn't really start until you've left the "beginner area" and acquired your first mount. Once that happens, the game takes the training wheels off and says to the player: "The world is yours to explore. Go find your happiness."
So I did.
It was many, many hours later while swimming under the oceans on the back of a goofy-looking salmon (which required many pitched battles, dungeons and unexplored wilds to obtain), diving down into the Depths of the sunless waters that I found a small crater. This crater served no purpose, save to filter out even more light and encase the player in darkness. It was there at the bottom of this tiny crater in the abyss that I realized whoever made this game crafted this specific spot out of blocks intentionally. Not for a hidden reward or any such thing, but because they COULD. Because it was reminiscent of things in the real world, and because it would be interesting or fun to find.
It was that exact moment I realized that I had fallen in love with the game.
Do not be mistaken: Crystal Project does not simply rely on spectacle. As the game progresses, it makes use of its engine to deliver engaging and brutal challenges to the player that make use every single mechcanic and construct within its boundaries. On difficulties above Easy, you cannot simply mash your way through the game. But the core of what makes the game so incredible is the Adventure itself...somethingso many modern games lack. Perhaps it is a blessing that the game has not received as much coverage as its contemporaries, for that means many of its secrets and discoveries are hard to track down in the world of information. Few games have given me the full gamut of emotions while exploring - from frustration to elation - quite like Crystal Project. In all its simplicity, it manages to obtain a unique form of complexity that may not be for everyone. It says something that my feelings upon completing it were both elation and sadness, wishing somehow that there was just a little more. Maybe someday.
Is it one of the best games ever made? No. Is it one of my favorites? Definitely.
Just finished last night. Picked it up awhile ago because I like JRPGs and the concept seemed interesting, but it didn't really mesh with me til I had the time to sit down on slow work shifts and get through the starting area. It's a solid game, lots of potential combinations of classes. I didn't really change up my builds too much, and hadn't even really messed with re-leveling classes for optimized stats towards the end. They're nice quality of life features, and there's really no 'mistakes' you're forced to live with, making it a fairly laid back exploration focused JRPG. Not all the classes are interesting, or even worth unlocking, but there was a clear attempt to make them all feel unique.
Grinding was minimal, outside of the very optional Quintar Breeding, which had me flying around to grind out money. I'd complain here about the racing minigames, I've yet to see a game where I like them, but Crystal Project allows you to skip the racing minigames. It's an assist option, and it doesn't disable achievements, great add that I wish more games would have. There's nothing I hate more in these kind of games than having end game content locked behind minigame mechanics that are completely unrelated to the main mechanics of the game - looking at you FFX Chocobo racing.
I haven't beaten all the bosses, or gotten all the achievements, and honestly I probably won't. Don't like the underwater exploration without a map. But I got a solid three weeks of work shifts out of this and that's worth fourteen bucks. I'll revisit this at some point, maybe even tonight to try and get a few more roaming bosses.

It's a good RPG. Highly recommend. It can be hard to determine where to go sometimes, but that's kind of the point. One of the few indie RPGs I've truly enjoyed. Also has mod support and built a built in randomizer if you want those options.
A great attempt at a exploration game with turn based RPG combat. It's flaws outweigh the interesting elements of the game.
Each area has its own map, you often have to explore a lot of the area to find them, or pay a lot. About halfway through the game, the map prices skyrocket in price to the point you cant afford them.
Once you get out of the starting area and into the first city, the difficulty starts skyrocketting. Its a game where you can unlock over 20 classes and combine 2 at a time. There's hundreds of builds possible, but if you dont stick with a few OP builds, everything kills you.
This game has Easy/Normal/Hard, and normal says you shouldn't have to grind, but that's a big lie. Shop gear is so expensive that you often have to grind. For a fair amount of the game, you can try over- leveling/gearing, but that eventually stops working. You can have a max level tank, in max level gear, properly re-leveled for tank stats, get one shot by a mob 10 levels lower on normal difficulty.
Last complaint is the AWFUL RACING systems in this game. Unlocking the fastest water mount requires extreme racing skill. As does attempting to unlock the quintar racing, which itself is difficult. None of the racing content feels fun at all.
The exploration elements of the game are cool though. The mounts give a nice touch to exploration and the shortcuts make mounts easy to use. However the best versions of the mounts are locked behind insanely difficult challenges that most players give up on.
If you like insane challenges, this is the game for you. Otherwise I hope the dev learns to tone down difficulty in the future. This game has a lot of promising elements gated by difficulty.
It's generally a fun time until it just wears you down with lack of QoL. Having the flee command be exclusive to a specific class really put a sour taste in my mouth and felt like my time was not being valued whatsoever.
However outside of that the exploration is phenomenal, finding secrets and jumping around felt very rewarding. The classes were a mixed bag but they did their jobs well enough. (Except for tank classes, they take time to set up aggro and you'll likely be dead before then.)
Combat is reminescent of classic Final Fantasy and has a ton of strategy involved.
All in all a fun game with a few gripes that slog it down and may be a turn off for a large number of players. Solid 7.5/10 imo

Very flawed but generally a fun time. Play the demo for a few hours to get a feel for whether or not you like the game, it's pretty good at letting you know what you're in for - and VERY long for a demo, could be a game in and of itself honestly.
p.s. for reasons beyond my comprehension the developer has said they recommend playing on easy mode with the 3 home points accessibility setting on, and having played without either yeah I agree. the game is horribly unbalanced at normal difficulty and above and you WILL be slogging through it extremely, painfully slowly if you play on those difficulties. easy's the way to go. just pretend easy difficulty IS normal difficulty, it may as well be; it's still pretty damn hard at times.
I was an inch close to give this game the thumbs down, and the sole reason is the darn plataforming, I dislike it and in this game there is lots of it. I was so annoyed by it that i didnt want to find optional bosses or equipment I did not explore several places I just wanted to beat the game and be done with it. Be that as it may, the classes, the bosses and the music are pretty good, I did not like the story (if we can call it story at all) but the hard battles keep me interested.
I'm so excited that CP2 is being made. I adored the sense of exploration in this game. The idea of going somewhere I'm not supposed to and "sequence breaking" (even though I'm not really) was something I always wanted to find in a game, but could never quite get. This game's unpredictability and variety in areas really made me feel a sense of coming across a place I wasn't meant to know about. It was so fun to just explore and get myself into trouble. I didn't mind the lack of story, either, because that wasn't the focus. If anything, the lack of it and the mystery of all the strange and esoteric areas really gave me a sense of wonder. I'm really excited to see what the sequel is gonna be like.
An amazing homage to classic RPGs like FF5, but with modern technology and design philosophy. Well, the story is a bit iffy, but that's not really important. The gameplay is tight with a huge, interesting world to explore and plentiful strategic and tactical possibilities to play around with. Great on its own, plus mod support to tailor the experience to exactly match your tastes, you should absolutely give this a try.
