A proposta de [b]Creatures of Ava[/b] foge bastante do padrão dos jogos de aventura. Aqui, você não é um guerreiro destruindo monstros, mas sim uma exploradora tentando salvar a fauna local de uma infecção bizarra. O combate não é bem um combate: você usa um cajado mágico para curar a corrupção dos bichos enquanto desvia dos ataques deles.

A melhor parte do jogo, sem dúvidas, é a mecânica de "capturar" os animais para salvá-los. Depois de curados, você precisa tocar as notas certas na sua flauta para hipnotizar as criaturas. É muito legal, você se sente literalmente o "Flautista de Hamelin" soprando a flautinha mágica e levando a galera toda em fila indiana direto para a nave de resgate. Cada mapa/bioma do jogo possui a sua própria variedade de criaturas e ecossistemas lindos para explorar, o que mantém a descoberta sempre interessante.

A dificuldade do jogo é praticamente nula, e isso é um detalhe importante. É um jogo bem tranquilo, sem grandes desafios ou mecânicas punitivas. Para mim, isso foi ótimo, pois eu só queria jogar em paz e sem pressa para relaxar a cabeça. Porém, é bom avisar: quem busca ação ou algum nível de dificuldade pode acabar se frustrando.

O meu único grande aviso vai para os caçadores de conquistas (complecionistas): tomem muito cuidado! Para platinar o jogo, você precisa prestar muita atenção ou jogar com um guia do lado. O jogo tem várias conquistas perdíveis, já que ele simplesmente bloqueia o seu acesso aos mapas anteriores quando você avança na história. Esquecer um coletável para trás é uma dor de cabeça enorme.

等等党的胜利，这游戏刚出时候就被美术吸引了，放愿望单了就忘了一直没买，结果无意间看到py上有人卖便宜的key，光速入了。
剧情玩法这方面感觉和另一个吸尘器模拟器游戏The gunk差不多，都是用道具清理一片被污染的土地顺带拯救外星生物。关于女主拯救外星这个点挺值得玩味的，拥有智慧的外星居民一开始根本不想要女主的拯救，并把infection称作withering，不打算查收受感染生物的命运，让人联想到白人踏上新大陆后和原住民的纠葛。有点想吐槽的是虽然外星人设定上是没有性别之分都是they，但目前出场的配音都是男配音，无法自圆其说。
最喜欢的点还是出场的外星生物都可以pet，能pet萌宠的就是好游戏

Escrevendo essa review, depois de chorar feito uma criança no final e nos créditos inteiros. Creatures of Ava foi uma surpresa, superou minhas expectativas. É um jogo lindo em todos os aspectos, design, traços, cores, a história de uma civilização antiga, parecida com as nossas, suas gravuras, seus artefatos, a conexão com o mundo e os animais, a música como uma forma de se comunicar com as criaturas.

É um jogo onde você sente tudo: tristeza, alegria, amor, surpresa, frustração e decepção.

Recomendo a todos, vale a pena, e no final é muito difícil ir embora de Ava. Esse jogo sempre terá um lugar no meu coração!

Tem alguns bugs, e gostaria de fosse possível marcar o local no mapa e que houvesse um guia, pois alguns locais são de difícil acesso, e acabei perdendo algum tempo pra conseguir chegar lá.

Сюжет зацепил. Чертовы ниндзя опять режут лук))

Не обошлось без багов (не засчиталась одна зверушка в авапедии). Из-за одного бага пришлось заново зачищать болота полностью, так как сейвов не осталось. Болота, вообще, оказались самой забагованной локацией.

Но финал все сгладил. Игру крайне рекомендую ради сюжета)

This game is a wonderful treat for the senses. Especially when played in virtual reality using the UEVR mod which seems to run the game almost flawlessly so far. (I had one crash when a movie started, but that was before I adjusted any graphics settings. I lowered shadows and haven't had a problem since.) The world is GORGEOUS in VR. Pair that with the good music and its got a great atmospheric feel to it. It reminds me of Zelda Wind Waker, and so far seems to be just as good if not better. Great game for people of all ages. I hope it gets noticed more.

In Creatures of Ava, you play as Vic, a nature explorer tasked with saving the inhabitants of the planet Ava from a spreading infection known as "the withering." The game focuses on non-violent taming mechanics, environmental puzzles, and world exploration across four distinct, linear zones.

+ charming world-building and atmosphere
+ fulfilling exploration
+ high quality and nicely adapting music
+ well balanced taming mechanic
+ intuitive skill tree
+ feature that reveals missing collectibles on the map

- predictable narrative, even intended plot twist is easy to spot

- technical polish, many minor bugs but not game breaking

Creatures of Ava is a competent, visually pleasing journey that unfortunately plays it a bit too safe. While it provides a relaxing loop of exploration and creature taming, it lacks the "hook" or narrative complexity to make it truly memorable. It is a smooth experience that you will have no trouble finishing, but compared with other exploration games, your time might be better invested in a title with more depth and a less predictability.

I played for about 45 minutes and noticed right at the beginning that something was wrong with the saving. You can save manually, but nothing happens, so I thought maybe it was saving automatically anyway. I completed the first big quest with the introduction, closed the game, and restarted it. As I feared, it couldn't save. The game is fundamentally broken for me, and maybe I'll find a workaround, or maybe it's just one of those games I can't play.

For anyone wanting a quick idea of what exactly this game is, I'd best describe it as a Zelda/ Tomb Raider game with non violent combat. Now, that may or may not sound bland. However, Creatures of Ava seems intentionally a cozy game. Vibrant colors, Fortnite graphics, mesmerizing music, and creative gameplay mechanics are what makes this game great. Players can really immerse themselves on planet Ava. I found the main characters, npcs, and animals very charming. Puzzles are not rocket science but they're still enjoyable. Executing melodies to enchant creatures before hearding them is rather unique. Also, needing to take pics of the creatures adds a Pokémon snap vibe. These features give the game identity. Platforming is also a factor of fun. Overall, nothing is wrong with this game besides minimally iffy terrain collision when things are super rocky once in a while. It's a gorgeous piece. I'm really happy to experience this.

不错的休闲小游戏，解谜和战斗都很简单。体量很小，但是通关体验还是挺舒适的。

用一根“法杖”对生物进行“净化”而非击杀的战斗搭配连锁机制，让我在玩的时候总是忍不住多连上几个腐化生物，然后上debuff+过载法杖，直接搞定一大片，相当爽快。而解谜则是通过笛子操纵净化后的生物触发不同的机关来进行。不同的生物拥有多种不同的能力，并且基本都可以像操控游戏主角一样被玩家控制。不过被净化后的生物不能帮助主角进行战斗，只会在一旁干看着，这也导致战斗和解谜的部分之间缺乏联动，算是一个比较可惜的点。

和类宝可梦游戏一样本作可以收集图鉴，但是图鉴里的照片是要你自己用游戏内相机拍的，而且不仅有生物图鉴，还有npc图鉴，我快通关了才发现原来npc也是可以拍照并记录在册的。除了看风景+拍照，游戏还有一堆杂七杂八的收集品可以捡。需要注意的是除了初始地图草原外，其它所有地图在完成对应的主线后都是不可返回的，这也让游戏的流程变得相当线性，有点浪费了半开放的地图设计。

剧情是纯线性没有任何分支。女主作为一个星际企业的员工来到名为”亚娃“的星球上拯救其濒临崩坏的生态（这个名字和女性形象的星球意志让我疯狂幻视阿凡达😂）。这个星球上的一切生物都被一股神秘力量腐化，所以主角和一个本地土著找到了这个星球上已经灭绝的前文明的一个遗物，也就是我前面称之为”法杖”的东西，用它可以净化并抵御腐化的力量。于是主角就顺理成章地开启了用获得的遗物帮本地土著通马桶的旅途。

看似简单的合家欢包汉堡风格的剧情，其实暗藏着一些我个人觉得很有意思的巧思。前面有一个很重要的获取经验的方法是帮公司把“净化”后的生物传送到人类称之为“方舟”的太空站，防止生物灭绝。我一开始就吐槽这个设计未免也太...自我感动了。但是玩到后面才发现这其实是个伏笔，包含着对形式化动保和”宠物收集“类游戏的一种有趣的讽刺，还算是让我眼前一亮。游戏的开头和结尾都有手绘2D过场，也挺不错的。

总之这就是很典型的中小厂游戏：没有什么太明显的亮点，但也没有太明显的短板。内容不多，不过恰好会在你开始感到乏味的时候通关。如果你想放松的时候玩一玩不需要脑子和手的游戏，那么这个游戏还是很值得尝试的。

Even going for the 100%, it doesn't overstay its welcome too much. Its a very pretty and endearing game. Not the most depth, but even for a story that focuses a bit on conservation and such, it managed to pull off a refreshing and thoughtful ending.

The game has some bugs and a little jank, but nothing that saving and then reloading your game couldn't fix. It isn't too complex with its exploration and 'puzzles', and the actual characters and plot don't have the most depth, but it is by no means bad. Basically a refreshing little 'palette cleanser' of a game or for younger audiences I'd recommend on a sale. Runs decent on steamdeck and plays fine with a controller.

I actually love games like this—exploring a new world and working toward small goals, kind of like Pokémon Legends: Arceus. But in games like these, the goals need to feel meaningful and fair.

The story completely undermines everything you do. [spoiler] The whole point is to heal creatures and send them somewhere safe to protect them from a virus… and then at the end you basically bring them back, stop trying to save them, and the virus ends up destroying the planet anyway. [/spoiler] It made the entire adventure feel pointless—like none of the effort mattered.

Even if you ignore the story and just go for 100% completion, it can be frustrating. Some things are missable with no proper warning. The game usually warns you, but not for Tehraba: you can miss the “healthy Tehraba in the jungle” photo with zero warning, and later when you meet him when you can pet him, that moment is locked into a cutscene, so you can’t take the photo then.

Also, I don’t hate the mini goals, but a lot of them don’t really reward you in a meaningful way—finishing a character’s task doesn’t give you a real advantage, so the objectives often feel like busywork rather than progress.

This is supposed to be a story game, yet it barely has a story—and the ending makes it worse.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. It honestly reminded me of Beyond Good and Evil. I'm apparently not the only one thinking that as I've also seen it in some other comment. I'm assuming a female protagonist running with a staff and taking lots of photos had something to do with it. It had also some aspects that connected it in my mind to the Avatar movies. A vibrant world with colorful creatures and inhabitants that have their own distinct personalities. Music is also a plus. Story starts as one thing and than naturally develops into something else. All in all I had a great time.

There are some technical issues with the game like frame drops, minor bugs and missing achievements. Nothing that would hinder you from following the story though. Just one thing that was taking me out of the story a bit were switches between conversations with just subtitles and fully dubbed scenes. I'd recommend either dubbing everything or doing it more jrpg style with only subs.

It's really pretty but clearly an insufferably annoying white woman with no social skills wrote the main character. Who the ♥♥♥♥ talks like this? It's so out-of-touch from what any normal human would consider acceptable dialogue when crashlanding on another planet. This is why insufferable white people get murdered when they go trying to "liberate" native tribes.

♥♥♥♥ whoever wrote this. Go watch a few episodes of Star Trek TNG, or Original Series, and see how humans are supposed to interact with new creatures from foreign planets. This is the furthest thing from acceptable behaviour I've seen in awhile. It's like someone who learned how to socialize exclusively on social media and/or TikTok. Or like you're playing Mass Effect and picking the negative dialogue option in EVERY interaction.

Beautiful game.
It can be buggy in places, but if you're looking for a relaxing experience on an alien planet full of amazing animals to tame and breathtaking environments, this game is definitely for you.
There are some performance hiccups and stutters here and there, but overall, you can tell it was made with care, which is why I recommend it.

Creatures of Ava is an enjoyable adventure game with a fairly calm pace, perfect for relaxing and taking a break from more intense titles. The gameplay focuses mainly on exploring the world and helping creatures instead of fighting, which creates a different, more peaceful experience. At times it can feel a bit repetitive and technically uneven, but despite that the game can be engaging and offers plenty of satisfaction from discovering the world. If you’re looking for something lighter and more chill - it’s definitely worth checking out. Recommended!

Rozgrywka polega głównie na eksploracji świata i pomaganiu stworzeniom zamiast walki, co daje trochę inne, bardziej spokojne doświadczenie. Momentami bywa powtarzalnie i technicznie nierówno, ale mimo to gra potrafi wciągnąć i daje sporo satysfakcji z odkrywania świata. A great game. Starts out quite a lot like slime rancher - you need to explore and collect different creatures in order to save them. However, as you go along you learn about the culture of the people and the planet to a point where there is an impressively philosophical ending. Enjoyed every moment of the game. The difficulty is about right to allow you to be somewhat challenged in fights but also to largely focus on exploration. I love the use of the camera - haven't seen this since 'Beyond Good and Evil' but unlike that game, this doesn't have terrible mini-games or races which are broken. I can heartily recommend this one.

It's very basic and buggy while having a lot of missable content which is a bad combination.
I feel like they have the basis of a good game, but they decided to focus on something that seemed easy enough for them to achieve.
Everything feels super outdated like an old movie tie in videogame.
The inventory management is unnecessary. The pointless gating and missable content in what is basically a collectathon game with no payoff is made even worse by the bugs that can make you have to repeat a playthrough if you wanted to complete the game. The enemies can wander like 10 meters away from their designated area and decide to return and regen midfight.
Unlocks might not trigger, columns and platforms may lose collision detection and you fall through, creatures get stuck on terrain or out of bounds forcing resets...
There are a ton of meaningless tedium objectives with practically no reward.
The map is indecipherable; especially your location is super tiny to make it harder to navigate.
I wish normal conversations were voice acted.
There are few creatures and several are sharing a lot in common with other creatures.

I don't know who I'd recommend the game to as it was a disapointment to me.
I would have much preferred if they had diven into more of a metroidvania style where the animals stay with you and continue to provide useful powers, or a more peaceful pokemon snap style with way more creatures. This feels halfway between various concepts in a way that I didn't enjoy.

The game gets boring pretty quick, the "combat" is very slow, clunky and dull. While the exploration is fun, I just got to the 2nd area of the game and it just didn't feel anywhere near as exciting as it should, therefore I'm quitting it. I like the animals and aliens (forgot what they were called) but the human characters are annoying and the story seems very bland in the way its conveyed which for a very conventional story (which this is) is a no go.

I enjoyed this overall and [b]would recommend[/b] it. I emphasize that first, because for the rest of this I'm mostly talking about the things I didn't like about it.

[h3]Missable Achievements[/h3]

There are a lot of old posts/comments/etc about how missable achievements are in this game. I think that has largely been remedied by now via loud "you can't come back after this, finish the area before you leave" warnings and ingame completionist aids, but there are still two pain points:
One is a specific creature that you can miss getting a healthy photo of, which will lock out [b]multiple[/b] achievements (look up how get a photo of a [spoiler]Têhra'ba[/spoiler] if you don't have it before leaving the jungle).
The other is a very-difficult-to-find easter egg achievement. An easter egg being missable is fair, but it's required for 100% achievements, and if missed it requires replaying at least half of the game.
[i](If you don't want to miss it, look up how to do the 1st step before leaving the jungle, 2nd step before leaving the next area, and 3rd+4th step before leaving the next area after that.)[/i]

[h3]Repetitive Aspects[/h3]

The creatures have cool designs and are animated well, and they are very charming to interact with. However, they have very limited abilities considering the game's premise of using them to help with exploration. I love the concept, but functionally it felt less like figuring out how to get help with traversal from creatures and more like figuring out which creature is the local saw and which one is the local shovel in each new area, and then every time you walk to a new subarea you have to look around for another saw to saw the same old log as you did in the previous one.
Additionally, most abilities boil down to "can break specific type of obstacle", with just a few being more like "can get to area the player can't".

The game boasts roughly 20 lil guys, but it effectively feels more like it has 4. I really liked figuring out what each creature could do in the first area, and getting to the second area only to realize almost every creature there was just a remix was really disappointing.

Creature abilities aside, each new area also felt smaller and less full of stuff to do than the previous one. That kind of compounds with the repetitive creature skills to make the gameplay feel like it diminishes over time. This suits the theme of the game and might even be deliberate, but suiting the theme of the game is not enough to make it an enjoyable progression experience.

[h3]Some Jank[/h3]

The camera shuddered a lot for a freely moveable camera, which is unpleasant. There are a lot of spots at the edges of areas where the terrain gets slippery in that "we didn't expect you to try to walk here" way. Considering how small the areas are, it felt a bit sloppy.

The combat is tenuously [i]fine[/i]. It has some good and interesting ideas, but the result isn't necessarily fun. There isn't a lot of it either, though, so it's kinda fine.

The story is good, and I enjoyed both the pacing and the conclusion, but I think the narrative direction clashes with the expectations set by the game's description on the store page.

Overall, though, I liked it!

This game is good. It has alot of charm, and alot of potential.
It has some flaws :
- The "combat" get tiresome quite fast and doesn't renew itself alot (but is not the focus of the game, so it's ok)
- Some animation are missing (storing the staff), or jankcy sometimes (cliff climbing)
- The "twist" is predictable after about 1h of gameplay. It is sad the game will force you follow it's scripted path when you realise what's happening.

Those flaws are very outweighted by the adventure though, you should give the game a try.

All in all it would have been SUCH A BANGER with a little bit more budget. It's so full of potential that i hope we can get a second installement with more develloped systems.

Similar to Horizon Zero Dawn, but worse in every single way. Story is bland, creatures have no variety, plants only come in 4 flavors, "combat" is a time vampire, and the game has so many bugs that you likely can't get a 100% EVEN WHEN YOU TRY TO CLEAR EVERY AREA WHEN THE DEVS TELL YOU TO.

The game tries to warn you when an area will be locked (minus the starting Grasslands, they do a terrible job there), and right not only in the jungle there are rescue bots with no creatures spawning around them. Considering the game has been out for almost 2 years and still has these bugs you can assume the devs already abandoned the game.

異星の動物たちを救うため奔走するアクションアドベンチャー。
TPS視点で描かれる雄大でサイケな惑星はかなりの見応え。オープンワールド形式だが地形が複雑に入り組んだマップは探索が楽しい。
動物たちを救助しながら探索・ミッションをこなしていく。ビームで感染した動物を治療、笛で手懐け憑依することで能力を使用し障害物を排除する。感染した動物は攻撃的だが数は少なく、動きも単調なので戦闘・アクションはさほど難しくはない。
操作やインターフェースにはやや癖があるが遊んでいれば自然と慣れるだろう。動作は比較的軽め、キー操作が独特なのでゲームパッド推奨。
日本語訳はほぼ完璧。ストーリーはやや複雑だがちょっとおかしな異星人との会話や滅びつつある惑星の雰囲気は十二分に伝わる。派手な展開はないが、主人公の態度が前向きなので陰鬱な雰囲気はなくさわやかな印象がある。
隠しアイテムなどやり込み要素は多め、９割程度のアイテムを回収しつつクリアには20時間以上かかった。ボリュームは十分だろう。マップは複雑だがメインクエストや戦闘で詰まることはなし、難易度はやや低めか。
冒険を心ゆくまで楽しみたい人にオススメ。

Hate to leave a negative review because the game is nice. Good sound, works well enough, pretty visuals. It's a well put together game (though I agree with other reviewers about the yapping during the puzzle sequences, cut that entirely imo)

I can't get past this whole like stealing indigenous culture so that you can 'rescue' the animals and the people of the planet, and by 'rescue' we mean '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidnap'. Like what do you mean I'm needing to teleport enough creatures of each type away from their homes and off to some research facility at best in space or something? and I know leaving the area and coming back makes them respawn but just. In the moment. You grab up 5 not-horses and 4 not-parrots and 2 trapinch guys and send em to oblivion. Your friendly teleporting robot gives you a grin and waddles off. Now the zone is completely empty. Really really eerie stuff.

I'm sure the devs mean well, and as previously mentioned the game works great and is enjoyable to play but this aspect of the story really does not sit well with me even a little bit. Enough that I don't want to play it any more than I have.

This game feels like a decent fit for younger audiences (based on mechanics). Could be a decent introduction to action adventure type games.
That said, as a much older gamer looking for cute and chill games after stressful workdays, it misses the mark for me. Quite a few mechanics feel like they need some tune up, some bugs here and there (not the animal or saving type). Some animals are just tedious to "save". The tediousness adds up kind of fast without a great feeling progression.

It is a very lovely and engaging game. It really tugged at the heartstrings, the music was amazing and so were the character/animal designs.
Unfortunately, I had to deal with some minor bugs. Specifically, the Avapedia alerted for new information, e.g. new character info but no new information was shown. Additionally, some creatures suddenly disappeared or appeared.
Due to this, a couple of corrections may be needed but it is still quite enjoyable!

Namun bagi Lee, melihat Sasuke menirunya sebenarnya adalah sebuah penghormatan tertinggi. Secara tidak langsung, Sasuke mengakui bahwa gaya bertarung Rock Lee adalah yang terbaik untuk melawan pertahanan mutlak Gaara.

Creatures of Ava ist ein sehr schönes Spiel mit einem liebevollem Design. Der Fokus liegt auf den süßen Tieren, die man alle auch streicheln kann. Die Story wird zum Ende hin sehr emotional, wenn man sich von allen verabschiedet und vor allem in der Schlusssequenz in der man Ava verlässt. Ich finde es sehr schön, dass man sich frei in der Welt bewegen und alles in seinem eigenen Tempo erkunden kann.

Leider hatte ich bei mir den Bug, dass ein Ort bei "Sonstiges" nicht gespeichert wurde, den man normalerweise während des Spielens automatisch freischaltet. Der Bug soll wohl häufiger auftreten.

Dennoch finde ich ist es ein sehr gelungenes Spiel, es hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht es zu spielen.

I was completely enraptured by the story. Yes, to some it may seem predictable. Perhaps the main character is infuriating at times. But to me, the ethical themes displayed in this game often are that way in real life, too. I enjoyed watching the main character grow over time. I'm surprised anyone would say they didn't see character growth over time. It couldn't be more apparent to me and felt very realistic. Deeply moving, cozy, and addicting, once I really got started I could not put it down. The graphics are beautiful and the open world to explore was enchanting. Learning about and petting the creatures was heartwarming. I really enjoyed the puzzles, which I overthought at times but overall were just challenging enough to be engaging and easy enough to not detract from the cozy vibes and emotional storyline. Lots of side quests and achievements really motivate you to explore the world to the fullest. The soundtrack was beautiful, and I felt that the further into the game I got, the more the music moved me.

I got extremely attached to the world, the characters, everything, and was genuinely sobbing during the last parts of the game. I felt so many emotions. It's a beautiful message with themes of colonialism, cultural sovereignty, self-determinism, environmental racism, appreciation for beauty, forgiveness, and healing trauma. Ever since completing this game, there's been a hole that no other game can seem to fill. Just one of those games that will always have a special place in my heart. i felt similarly at the end of Outer Wilds, except this game ticks off even more boxes for me. I wish I could experience it all over again.

En el modo de jugabilidad, yo puliría el modo de ventana, porque alguna vez ha cambiado de modo mientras jugaba.
Por lo demás en cuestión de historia, es una buena propuesta aunque la verdad.... un final bastante flojo, y es que me ha dejado un sabor agridulce, me esperaba otro desenlace, no puedo decir mucho sin dar spoiler, asique es un juego 100% recomendado.

Pros:
- This is a gorgeous game with beautiful creature designs.
- You can pet all of them. This is a very strong selling point.
- The music was lovely.
- When the emotional moments land, they really land. I truly did come to love the Naam -- a sort of cross between Gorons and owls -- and their beautiful world, and I'd be lying if I said the ending didn't get to me.

Cons:
- Combat's irritating, maps are irritating, UI's irritating. Good luck trying to figure out where you are and which item in your very limited inventory is which.
- Fairly buggy. I missed out on the plant quest because of this.
- Repetitive. A lot of the creatures are palette swaps of each other, and perform the same limited amount of functions (smash wall, dig hole, etc.)
- The protagonist is needlessly catty, stupid, and annoying, and continued being rude to the Naam long after it made sense character-wise. Hope you like dated meme references, because she has a ton of them to go around.
- The picture reconstruction puzzles, in which said protagonist chimes in every 20 seconds scolding you for not solving it faster "(THERE AREN'T THAT MANY PIECES, HOW COULD I BE SO STUCK???")
- [spoiler]The big plot twist can be seen from space. Five minutes into this game, I knew exactly how it was going to end.[/spoiler]
- This is a small one, but the ridiculous abandon with which the word "empathy" that gets thrown around describing this game gives me an eye twitch. Undertale is a story where you "let your empathy guide you," Bioshock is an example, and this is not that. There's empathy involved in Creatures of Ava, but no more than a playthrough of Barbie Pet Rescue.

I was super excited about this one going in and don't love having to give it a negative review, but it was too much of a mixed bag for me. When it works, it's a quiet, thoughtful story about love, grief, colonialism, and the natural world. When it doesn't, it's a glitchy slog to a conclusion that's literally spelled out for you going in.

I see game focused on animals. On saving them and their planet. I want it. I read some reviews and waited for a good sale. Played it over the span of 2 days, and made the mistake of finishing at 1:00 am. I am now typing this up after I have finished crying because of the flippin ending.
The game? Wonderful albeit buggy/glitchy/laggy at times. Nothing game-breaking for me, though. The animals? I want plushies of all of them. From tiny little wombats-with-trumpet-noses to whole dinosaurs, I loved them all, I pet them all, I want them all. The characters are interesting, each one with different personalities and goals, and some of them do have quests for you or you just interact with them often enough that you get to watch them grow. There are collectibles and secrets likely to be completely missed unless you use a guide, especially since many of them are missable. As many others will suggest, achievement hunters should save often and wisely.
The story was great, the ending hit like a punch to the gut, but the message is important.
Anyways, I absolutely loved it, but read some more reviews just to get a better idea before you get it yourself.
I will be playing it all again (at some point) so I can get my final 2 achievements. Wish me luck

Game was looking good at the start BUT even though i muted all sounds, dialogues, etc i was still able to hear some dialogue wtf ?? also on the very first puzzle (you know the one that you have to put 6-7 pieces in the correct place) well i was almost done and i was circling the pieces with left and right mouse buttons to get the final piece in it's place and guess what i wasn't able to select it so i wasn't able to finish the puzzle. ok screw it i said i want out of here so i pressed escape and all other buttons but nothing so i had to alt+f4 to close the game, oh also not to forget that the subtitles are very small even if you enlarge them from the options menu.

Yeah, all in all good stuff so you will just take your negative vote and be happy about it.

A short and intriguing experience, this game is a beautiful reinvention of creature taming mechanics. This was such a lovely game. I love games about helping out innocent creatures and clearing them of infection and playing music to them was so cute. Plus you get to pet them all. I’m a simple girl, I like petting cute critters. My cat doesn’t always let me so I have to take it out on virtual critters instead. I want a magic flute that I can lure all the creatures home with.

The message in the game is also quite a good one [spoiler]that even with the best of intentions, sometimes we have to take a step back and let people live how they want instead of trying to force our view of what’s right on to them[/spoiler].

There are a LOT of missable so achievement hunters may want to be aware of that going in, as once you complete an area you can’t go back. But the game does make it very clear to you if you haven’t done everything in an area before moving on so you’d have to ignore the warnings to lock yourself out of everything (except maybe the secret temple).

Overall I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

Ce jeu est extraordinaire ! Le gameplay est génial, le level design parfait. La musique, la DA, tous est beau et bien géré. Sans oublier le travail sur l'identité des peuples qui est époustouflant et l'histoire merveilleuse ! Il va me falloir un moment pour m'en remettre. Wie es sich für eine Forscherin gehört, steht das Erkunden und Entdecken sowie die Rettung der Kreaturen auf Ava im Vordergrund in Creaturs of Ava. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Möglichkeit, die Kreaturen vor dem Welken zu retten, denn dies macht den gewaltlosen Indie-Titel zu etwas besonderem. Gleichzeitig lassen sich Kreaturen nicht nur zähmen und einsammeln, sondern zu gegebenen Gelegenheiten auch steuern, was den Charme von Creatures of Ava ausmacht.

Geprägt hat auch die Stimmung des Spiels selbst, denn die Naam sind für die Menschen fremd und gleichzeitig faszinierend. Dies zeigt sich in Vics Reaktionen auf sie und umgekehrt. Und doch können sie untereinander helfen und verstehen, wie die Not eines zerfallenden Planeten beide Rassen zusammenbringen kann. Auch wenn die Erzähldichte nicht besonders hoch der Umfang recht kurz gehalten ist, lädt Creatures of Ava zu einem kurzweiligen, gewaltlosen und doch faszinierenden Erlebnis ein, einen fremden Planeten zu verstehen, zu erkunden und dessen Bewohner vor einer fortschreitenden Infizierung zu retten.

Mir hat es sehr viel Spaß gemacht, die Kreaturen sind süß gestaltet. Die Geschichte ist auch mitfühlend und interessant gestaltet.
Die Melodien sind manchmal etwas nervig und ein paar Aufgaben fühlen sich wiederholend an.

I'm sorry. This game is beautiful, the soundtrack's really nice, but there were simply too many design choices I could not get behind.

The creature designs are great and yet we barely interact with them other than use them to solve a handful of puzzles or find loot we could have crafted anyway.
The story leaves me feeling disappointed, wanting more, as it feels like all our efforts were for nothing.
I don't like that some rescue bots immediately respawn after completing them, leaving you to double check whether or not you saved all the creatures in an area or if you've already done it before.
It makes little sense to block off previous chapters' areas when you could simply make them still accessible but now filled with more hazards and hostile/infected creatures such as what happens with the Grasslands. It ultimately forces players to choose between achievement hunting and progressing the story, and if they're at all invested in the story of course they'll pick the latter over the former.

I really wish I could have enjoyed this game but it's just too frustrating to engage with.

A Creatures of Ava egyszerűen magával ragadott! A világ elképesztően részletes, a tájak változatosak és tele vannak felfedeznivaló titkokkal. Minden élőlénynek megvan a maga egyedi képessége, ami folyamatosan motiválja a játékost a gyűjtésre és a felfedezésre.

A játékmenet jól kiegyensúlyozott: a harcok izgalmasak, a fejlődés és a stratégiázás pedig kielégítően mély. Bár néha találkoztam apró technikai hibákkal, ezek sosem rontották az élményt, és a játék hangulata mindig ellensúlyozta őket.

Ez a játék nem csak szórakoztató, de valóban elmerít a világában, és minden percét élveztem. Ajánlom mindenkinek, aki szereti a kreatív, felfedezésre épülő kalandjátékokat. Nekem ez az egyik kedvenc élményem az utóbbi időből.

Such a fun game with such a good message. Easy enough to turn off my mind for a bit while you run around and save these poor creatures.

Achievement hunters make good saves, you will need them when the game glitches out a little. Not terrible but its not a perfect game.

A very chill game with a lovely story probably meant for kids but equally enjoyable by adults who love a heartwarming story and to wander through landscapes and meet, and tame, fanciful creatures. You start by searching for animals to preserve them on an ark from a dying planet but gradually learn the story is more complicated. The game play can get a little repetitive but the creatures and environments are fun and chill enough to be easy for kids and cozy for an adult. The game leads you easily where you want to go but you can also just explore on your own. There is an auto save function but I'm an explorer so I try to try every nook and cranny. A few times I got stuck in the geometry so I suggest saving often. A relaxing and heartening experience.

Aktuell empfehle ich das Spiel. Es ist bunt, es ist relativ leicht zu spielen und die Story dahinter scheint sehr interessant zu sein. Manchmal ist nicht ganz klar, wohin es geht, aber das Spiel lädt generell zum Erkunden und Explorieren ein.
Ich spiele dieses Spiel ab und zu weiter, daher kann sich meine Rezension noch ändern. Es fällt jedoch nicht leicht, nach einigen Wochen wieder in die Story und Aufgaben hinabzutauchen.

Incredibly beautiful game! I got this game thinking it's going to be a cute creature collecting game, but it turned out to be so much more.

The story is touching and really well crafted - dealing with heavy subjects such as colonialism and the clash between different cultures, the cycle of life, grief, and community, but in a rather gentle way. The world building is also great - the regions feel different, the creatures are adorable and the people of Ava are well fleshed out and full of personality! They also have cute and touching little side quests that the player should definitely do!

For such a short game it definitely left a mark. I cried at the end.

9,5/10 because it still has little bugs that make completing the game 100% a bit hard - you might have to play the game multiple times. But if you're in just for the story - no complaints. Absolutely amazing work from an indie company! <3
