Corpse Party: Blood Drive is the direct sequel to Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, and is the first game featuring settings and characters rendered in 3D. Platform is PlayStation Vita, released in Japan in July 2014 by 5pb.. The characters are depicted in 3D chibi style, however traditional CG artwork appears during cutscenes, illustrated by Sakuya Kamishiro.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive вышла в 14 году на PS Vita и является по сути продолжением Book of Shadows. Честно говоря, даже не могу выделить каких-то плюсов игры, потому в обзоре одни минусы:

[b]Сюжет[/b] Абсолютно нелогичный и полный дыр, неудачная попытка перейти от жанра ужасов к какому-то городскому фентези. Реткон на ретконе и ретконом погоняет - в оригинальной CP смертельное альтернативное измерение начальной школы Тендзин, куда попали неудачливые герои, было создано в результате проклятья умершей насильственной смертью Сачико Шинозаки. Теперь все это объясняется еще какой-то кучей тайных магических организаций, ведущих теневую войну, непонятными ритуалами, сожжением ведьм в Средневековье, потомственными девочками-волшебницами и т.д. Также продолжается упоминание главного фетиша разработчиков ([spoiler]хотящих в туалет девочек[/spoiler]). Потрясающие Wrong End'ы исчезли - в этой части большинство из них даже внятного описания не имеют, не то что отдельных сцен.

[b]Персонажи[/b] Новые персонажи не раскрыты, по сути просто картонный заполнитель, а Куон и Магари созданы чисто ради фансервиса. Также особо раздражает ГГ этой части Аюми - мало того, что ее поведение абсолютно нелогично, так она снова и снова наступает на те же грабли, ввязываясь в сверхъестественные дела, забыв чем ей это уже обошлось. Она все равно пытается воскресить своих друзей, хотя в конце Book of Shadows из-за этого ее сестре пришлось пожертвовать ради нее своей жизнью ([spoiler]про воскрешение сестры она даже не заикается ни разу[/spoiler]).

[b]Техническая реализация[/b] Игра выглядит так словно устарела уже на момент выхода лет на пять (такое ощущение что выпустили ее для PSP, а не Vita). Чиби-модельки героев низкого качества и абсолютно рушат атмосферу, как и в целом окружение. Ненужная механика пряток в шкафах от злых духов (пользуешься ей ровно один раз, в обучении), ловушки, отнимающие здоровье скорее раздражают, чем пугают, да и сами эти проклятые духи скорее смешат. Будь оно в формате RPGMaker или чистой VN - выглядело и игралось бы намного лучше.

Если вы фанат Corpse Party - не рекомендую, нет здесь ничего, чем запомнилась первая часть. Если вы не фанат - тем более покупать не стоит.

4 из 10 исключительно за музыку серии и местами красивые CG-арты.

Galera, eu sei que esse jogo provavelmente é o final da saga de Heavenly Host. No entanto, eu simplesmente amei! Isso me deu uma nostalgia incrível do primeiro jogo de Corpse Party.
De verdade, podem dizer que é longo, que às vezes você sofre, mas isso é simplesmente nostálgico e uma despedida incrível, para mim, desses personagens e da saga que amei jogar.
O jogo de terror me toca profundamente pela compaixão e por tudo mais... Os dubladores me emocionaram com suas mensagens deixadas. Quero vê-los novamente!

A jogabilidade mudou, e eu inicialmente pensei que seria como Book of Shadows, apenas leitura... mas teve ação, e eu amei!

Guys, I know that game is probably the end of the Heavenly Host saga. However, I absolutely loved it! It gave me an incredible sense of nostalgia for the first Corpse Party game.
Honestly, people might say it’s long and that sometimes you suffer while playing, but that’s exactly what makes it so nostalgic and such an incredible farewell, for me, to these characters and to the saga I loved experiencing.
This horror game touches me deeply because of its compassion and everything else... The voice actors moved me with the messages they left. I want to see them again!

The gameplay changed, and at first I thought it would be like Book of Shadows, just reading... but there was action, and I loved it!
Thank you for this game and for this farewell to the saga. I just ask that you make it available in other languages, like Brazilian Portuguese!

No lo recomiendo. Es una m*erd*. Menos mal que lo compré cuando todavía estaba en pesos argentinos y en rebaja, porque realmente no vale lo que cuesta. La historia no deja de contradecirse: Ayumi deja de ser una persona pensante y pasa a tener memoria selectiva. ¿Cuál es el sentido de hacerles caso a completos extraños y no a tus propios amigos?

Por ejemplo cómo se olvidó de que los celulares no funcionan en Heavenly Host, o de toda la explicación que le da Yuki en Blood Covered acerca del universo? Cómo vas a ir sin prepararte en absolutamente nada a otra dimensión que la última vez casi te mata?

Además, me parece completamente ridículo que no haya quick save y que no puedas guardar el progreso entre medio de los diálogos, que encima son muchísimos, redundantes y no aportan prácticamente nada nuevo a la historia, salvo más contradicciones.

Ahora el foco está puesto únicamente en Ayumi y los demás personajes ya no tienen gracia: Satoshi, Naomi y Yuka quedan totalmente relegados. Ah, y a Yoshiki lo convirtieron en un chabón re patético. Estaba buena la dinámica que tenía con Ayumi en el primer juego, pero ahora se limita a ser un personaje plano, cuyo único propósito es andar atrás de ella como un perro.

Encima, otra cosa increíblemente frustrante es la mecánica de correr y escapar de los espíritus, que resulta completamente ineficiente.

EDIT: seguí jugando para ver si mejoraba. Spoiler, no pasa. Mi opinión sigue en pie después de 24h de juego y 30 logros

First of all - I am biased. I did not enjoy instalments past the first game. I think that sadly the team behind this game lost track of everything that made it charming and this game is the best example. I don't know why they decided to move away from the top down arcade vibe. I don't know why they added out of place over-the-top, spirit-ball firing, anime characters in what started as a survival horror franchise. As someone who genuinely loved the franchise this game was disappointing. I don't think it adds anything to the story and if you would like to know what happens I would strongly recommend just looking up a lore video on YouTube instead of attempting to make it through this slog.

Take even the most cursory glance online and you can easily find a torrent of hate for this game, but you won't find it here.

I enjoyed this game very much by taking my time to savour it and really ensure I was following every development closely.
A lot of players fall off the rails with this game because they don't hold on tight enough, or for some reason want it to follow real-world logic rigidly, a strange ask, given that players of this game presumably have at least some experience of the magic-laden Corpse Party universe by now.

I highly recommend immersing oneself deeply in the gory warm bath of [i]Corpse Party (2021), Book of Shadows, and Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash [/i] before playing this. Yes, you will lose a lot by not having played those games thoroughly beforehand.

I would also encourage you to play this on PC! Wonderful, you're reading this on Steam, so you almost certainly will be.

I say the above because a lot of this game's negative reputation comes from the appalling mess it was released in, and left in, for years on console. Oh console, how heavy your sins!

This isn't to say the game is a flawless masterpiece now—certainly not, but it's a lot better than the cynics and hate–train bandwagoners would have you believe.
It has a fantastic ending and genuinely great story beats all throughout.
This game includes some of the best extra chapters in the whole series and when "Harewataru Sora" begins to play in the Epilogue, it really hits perfectly... like the fragile hope that dares to hint at dawn after the oppressive darkness of Heavenly Host.

Some puzzles are particularly hard… well, that's always been Corpse Party; the infamous bug pit from Game 1 set the standard for that.
Some things are a little finicky to interact with again, that's par for the course.

Maybe the new characters upset you?
Some villains are irredeemable; not everyone needs to be shades of grey.

As for Magari and Kuon, Magari is larger than life but nothing unusual for this series, really.
Kuon is very strange, yes, but remind yourself: she was created by the curse to replace Ms. Yui. Feeling otherworldly and unnatural is deliberate—she was literally written into existence by magic.
Accepting that is table stakes for the story, so complaining about her "weirdness" feels oddly selective. She isn't an ordinary woman.

Perhaps you simply don't like where the story goes and feel strongly that [i] if only [b] you [/b] [/i] had written it, then it would be different and much better in your humble opinion…

Overall, this is a great telling of Kedouin's vision for how the Heavenly Host saga ends, at least for now.
I personally think it tells its story very well.

Yes, this is one of those "do or do not, there is no try" kind of games: either commit to this as a lover, or don't bother with it—as you'll only get hurt if you go in for a quick fling.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive - I bought a game, got a Visual Novel instead.

Sidenote: I will not be regarding the EX chapters as I could not be asked to read ♥♥♥♥♥ I don't care about, I just couldn't.

The good:
+ I generally like the story, except for the fact that they kinda retcon (?) (although I'm pretty sure they leave its origin as ambiguous as possible so they can make ♥♥♥♥♥ up later, which, if that's the case then more power to them, I guess), the creation of the Nirvana or whatever, and the weird ♥♥♥♥♥ Kuon Niwa does to Satoshi, cannot get over those.
+ Kuon Niwa's death is much better than that of Mayu Suzumoto. I feel like Mayu's death is more for shock value and to make the game seem more tragic than it actually is, as Mayu herself never really does anything in the game, other than get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up by ghosts. While Kuon Niwa's character has been established throughout the game, and her death was to save the world, which makes her death all the more impactful than Mayu Suzumoto's.
+ I like the 3D style, it doesn't seem easy to translate a 2D game into 3D, and I think they did a pretty good job at it.

The bad:
+ Like the title of the post suggests, it's just a slightly fancier Visual Novel. I don't really mind Visual Novel. Although they might as well present it as such, as there's barely enough stuff in here to be considered gameplay.
+ Speaking of gameplay, it's an almost direct clone of Corpse Party 1, which is a problem, because the 1st game's gameplay ain't all that good either, it's just a massive fetch quest. There's no puzzle solving, no combat (will be talking about this in a sec, don't worry), no nothing that a fun game has. Although the environmental hazards do spice things up a bit. Though some of them get obscured by the map, which is horrible map design. It's kind of a nothing burger, as at least 90% of my play time is just reading and walking around, hitting triggers.
+ It's not survival horror (I don't think the devs ever claim that it is, but it has the tagline so I will criticize it for that), as it's not horror, horror is, of course, subjective, but nothing ever really scares me in my 20+ hours of playing the game, nor you survive in this game, surviving includes fighting and flying, and I ain't seeing any of the former. I would LOVE to play a zombie game (one that has proper survival features) that takes place in this universe, but unfortunately, that probably ain't gonna happen.
+ The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gym music, you know what I'm talking about.
+ Ayumi's character. Apparently, she trusts some random ♥♥♥♥♥♥ she never met, one who called her names and has nothing to show for the ♥♥♥♥♥ he said, more than her friends and, you know, her experiences with the Book of Shadows. It's not a nitpick because if she just tells Misuto to ♥♥♥♥ his ass off of her property, then the game wouldn't happen, and she and Yoshiki Kishinuma wouldn't be erased out of existence. Also, according to the (fan) wiki, she doesn't like adults, especially men, not sure how much I trust that but I'll take their word for it, so why the ♥♥♥♥ does she even thinks he's trustworthy in the first place.

The ugly:
+ Fetish. You cannot convince me that the writer didn't have some kind of fetish for holding in piss after at least 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games that have someone doing exactly just that, at least in this game they don't linger on that, which is pretty concerning now that I think about it.
+ Said weird ♥♥♥♥♥ that Kuon Niwa does to Satoshi. Open a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hot sprint at his house (apparently getting nothing in return if not for the free pass Satoshi's mother gave her), chew food for him, be naked in front of him, and probably more that I can't bother remembering.

Overall, 4/10. I like the game, but you should seriously reconsider if you want to buy it.

เกมก็เก่ามากแล้วพึ่งได้มาเล่นในตอนนี้ ระบบไม่ค่อยดีนักทำให้เล่นได้ค่อนข้างยากไปหน่อยโดยเฉพาะจุดสังเกตว่าอะไรต้องสำรวจ อะไรต้องเก็บมาทำซะเป็นของประกอบฉากเลยใครจะไม่รู้ได้ แน่นอนว่าคงไม่มีการกลับมาอัพเดตอะไรหรอก ภาค 2 ที่จะกลับไปทำใหม่ยกเครื่องก็เงียบหายไปแล้วน่าเสียดายครับ แต่แนะนำให้เล่นนะสำหรับคนที่ติดตามเนื้อเรื่องมาตั้งแต่ภาคแรกแม้เนื้อเรื่องจะสะเปะสะปะไปหน่อยแต่ก็ดูหาทางลงได้อยู่ครับ

　まず全く怖くないのが最大の難点。かわいい3頭身のSDキャラがかっこいいBGMの中演技するシーンが多い。
　次にプレイ可能な場面が多くなく、ひたすら文章を読まされる。
　ゲームシステムも青鬼と同じで陳腐。おそらく、ゲームを作っている意識が欠落している。
　そして最も致命的なのが、ここまで残された秘密が明らかになればなるほど、作り込みの甘い同人レベルのものだとわかってしまうこと。キャラデザもネーミングセンスも安いアニメみたいだし、犠牲者の死因は医者じゃなくても実在しないことがわかるし、いろんな組織の動きは1回でもサラリーマンや公務員をやればありえないものばかり。この点は竜騎士07が一度は公務員をやったことがあるのと比べるとその後継者などというのは遠く及ばない。
　フリーウェア時代からプレイしていた身としては竜頭蛇尾すぎて残念である。

This is the only corpse party game I never finished because it was just so infuriating to play. When I play a game like this, I expect to be able to focus on the narrative it provides. Instead, the environments in this game were just blatantly unfair to traverse through with the enemies moving faster than you, and generally speaking it made it frustrating and annoying to reach the next part of the narrative.

My second issue, is that in my opinion, the narrative is generally uninteresting when compared to the original and book of shadows. I can see why someone would disagree with me but this game just took a direction with the story I never wanted to see.

RPG파트는 그냥 구색 맞추기인데다 스태미너 시스템 때문에 추격하는 귀신을 잘 뿌리칠 수가 없어서 잘못 만든 수준임.
그래픽도 아기자기한 SD라 전혀 안 무서움....
사실상 탐색 요소 껴있는 비주얼노벨이라고 봐도 무방함.
스토리는 전작에 비해 너무 판타지스러운 면이 늘어나서 황당무계하기도 한데, 이것만 참을 수 있다면 만족스럽게 즐길 수 있다고 봄. 1편부터 외전작까지 싹싹 핣아먹고 즐긴 팬이라면 살만하다.

С игрой я пытался знакомится, ещё до портирования на PC, подопытной стала версия для андроида, но наиграл я в неё не долго, из-за отсутствия перевода, а виты не было, так что полноценное знакомство случилось, только с выходом на PC. А теперь Обзор Time...

Графика: На чистоту, сегодня выглядит как дешёвая игра с мобилки, да и на момент выхода, вроде её тоже ругали за визуал, но всё же больше всего, досталось бедным чибикам. Лично я, против чиби персонажей ничего против не имею, за исключением их лиц, а точней практически полным отсутствием каких либо анимаций лиц, она есть....ну как есть, так текстурку меняют, раз в пол года, да и выражений этих лиц, не то что бы много, а в игровом процессе и вовсе, постоянно ходят с улыбками. Так же, можно пожаловаться и на анимации в кат-сценах, они плохие, так ещё и анимации умудряются баговать, у меня в самый важный момент раскрытия сюжета, Наоми просто пялила в стенку, в отличии от других. Сами кат-сцены, тоже плохие, режиссуры практически нет, а тогда когда есть, она не особо выразительна, а тогда когда должно случится какое то действие, в течении секунды...вот щас....ну погоди ещё, не видишь, персы очень долго болтают, из-за этого динамика, тоже проседает. В целом, больше сказать и нечего, да всё плохо, фанаты и вовсе ноют по потерянному пиксельарту, и в целом даже можно было бы согласится. Но всё же к графе привыкнуть можно, но где точно постарались, так это с CG артами, к ним претензий нет.

Геймплей: К нему тоже есть претензии. Для начало начнём с того, что вернули геймплей первой части, только как и было сказано, вместо пиксельарта, у нас чиби 3D. Продолжим тем, что я жаловался на отсутствие какой либо опасности, в первой части, умереть там было не от кого, почти, всего один враг, на одном и том же месте, интеллект которого, можно было легко сломать, ну и там ещё было два сегментика. Тут же, этих врагов засунули почти в каждую щель, не сказать что они представляют особую опасность, но челенджа прибавляют. Проблема кроется в другом, их порой так много и они так задалбывают, что от них порой не сбежать. Особую сложность побега, добавляет тот факт, что все персонажи, это астматики, которые задыхаются через 5-7 секунд бега. Так же по мимо призраков, опасность будет представлять и окружение. Теперь в школе Тендзин, куча битого стекла, прогнившего пола, острых струн и это в целом всё. В темноте эту напасть по задумке разрабов, должно быть не видно, но играя без фонарика, их всё ещё отчётливо видно, кроме струн, вот их реально порой хрен увидишь. Инвентарь, стал относительно полезным, так как в нём можно переносить расходники, к ним относятся: Бинты, Батарейки и обереги для защиты от врагов. Только вот, кроме оберегов, остальные предметы вообще не нужны, так как хп восполняется, если использовать точку сохранения, а батарейки, бесполезны из-за того, что всю игру можно пройти без использования фонарика. Так же в некоторых местах, можно найти одноразовые статуэтки, они нужны для того, что бы излечить персонажа от затемнения, тоже по большей части, бесполезная механика, так как за всё прохождение, я его ни разу так и не словил, хотя если его словить, то это геймовер. Зарабатывается оно так же как и в BoS, вроде, я не знаю, играют ли записки и осмотр окружения, на его получение, но вот если вас будут часто стукать по голове, то оно точно растёт. Из бесячего, так же хотелось бы отметить, дикую заскриптованность и нелогичность сюжетного получения предметов, если ты раньше времени осмотришь шкаф, в котором лежит ключ, ты его не получишь, пока не сработает сюжетный скрипт, ну и ещё был момент, когда я получил третью сефиру, я не понимал что нужно делать, а оказалось, что после получения сефиры, нужно снова заглянуть в туже дырку и ты получишь ключ, почему его нельзя дать сразу ? это же логично, что после сюжетного предмета, там больше ничего быть не должно. Но не смотря на проблемы и небольшую кривость, геймплей всё же прокачали, если сравнивать с первой часть и кайфануть от игры, всё ещё можно.

Сюжет: Вторая, причина для нытья фанатов. Многие его просто ненавидят, но мне, прям без шуток, очень понравилось. У меня правда очень сильно полыхало при первом прохождении, от того что к ведьмочкам и магии из BoS, нам добавили два долбаных культа. Один не раскрыт от слова совсем, да и второй к слову тоже. Но на второе прохождение, я уже как будто бы смирился и какого то отторжения, они уже не вызывали. Игра стартует вроде спустя два месяца после концовки BoS и весь сюжет, можно охарактеризовать как: Аюми, тупая ты пи....Ваш обзор был забанен :) Ну она реально тупая, потому что появились два персонажа, которые говорят, мы знаем где книга теней, у тебя есть шанс всех воскресить, но пробовать будем в самой Нирване и Аюми такая: А чё правда ? Погнали. Она сама видела, что это не возможно, и что за попытку, придётся чем то заплатит, расплатилась она сеструхой. И её вот это всё, вообще не смутило, она практически без колебаний, опять полезла в пекло и ей , тупо весь сюжет, просто манипулировали. Ну и ещё бесило то, что она всё время ноет, о её бесполезности и прочем, но всё же персонаж ближе к середине/концу развивается и становится более уверенной и идёт давать всем звиздюла, при помощи Книги Теней. Если забыть про эту арку с воскрешением, то у нас есть ещё арки. Антагонистов тут навалили ворох и маленькую тележку: И два культа, которые воюют между собой, и новый непонятный призрак, который начал всех кошмарить, ещё в мире живых, ну и ещё тут затисалось само ядро Нирваны. Все новые персонажи, кроме Мисуто и Куон, перекочевали из 2U[она же днюха истерички, как мне перевёл переводчик]. Персонажами так же проникаешься и сопереживаешь им, ну кроме Мисуто, он просто муDuck. Но в целом, сюжетка довольно глобальная по событиям, так как из-за действий Аюми, Нирвана умудряется проникнуться в мир живых, и устроить там настоящий конец света, ну и Аюме нужно разрулить всю ту кашу, которую она заварила, плюс запечатать Нирвану. Но в особенности, я хотел бы отметить арку с Сачико, она тут для сюжета, как пятое колесо у телеги, но в финале её арки, я рыдал как су....девчонка, для меня прям очень трогательный момент, за всю игру. А вот что я точно поругаю, так это всеми любимые концовки, они никакие. Все концовки я не помню, но парочка тех, что я словил на второе прохождение ни о чём, коротки, практически без описания и всего прочего, по типу умер и умер, чё бубнить ? Ну и ещё экстра главы ни о чём, там только одна понравилась, а последняя и вовсе эпилог к сюжетке. Как по мне, это хорошая точка, в завершении сюжета.

Музыка: По звучанию, она изменилась, но лично мне всё равно понравилось, если не считать моментов, когда музыка не идеально подобрана для сцены, ну и ещё, мне хочется запереть того чела, который придумал запихать дабстеп в хоррор, в комнате и заставить его слушать этот трек, столько же, сколько он длится в игре, а играет он практически без остановки, в последних ЧЕТЫРЁХ ГЛАВАХ.

Послесловие: Не смотря на то, что игру по большей части я ругал, мне она всё же понравилась, они нереально кривая, фанатам первой части скорей всего не понравится, да и рядовой игрок тоже пройдёт мимо, но игре можно попробовать дать шанс и может вас даже удастся кайфануть в игре. Так же ещё скажу, если вам хочется капельку больше узнать про Культ Мартубы, то вам прямая дорога в мангу Cementry0, сюжет в ней правда прочитал и забыл, но за можно немного узнать, о событиях до первой части. Правда вот в плане рисовки, всё очень спорно, по ощущениям вместо хоррора порнуху читаешь, с Mesume [НИКОМУ НЕ РЕКОМЕНДУЮ ЧИТАТЬ ЭТО ДЕРМО] она конечно не сравнится, но всё же. А вот если реально хочется получить опыт и атмосферу первой части, вам дорога в мангу Another Child, её события как раз, разворачиваются параллельно первой части, правда от параллели, там одно название.

A ver, hay mucho que comentar pero lo intentaré resumir.
Si has jugado los demás juegos de Corpse Party, juégalo, esta chulo, pero ten ten cuenta que introduce sistemas de survival horror en mi opinión mal integrados que incluso en ciertos momentos pueden dificultar el gameplay.
La música esta chula, la historia como siempre está muy bien aunque como el primer Corpse Party no hay nada
Tiene partes viscerales y oscuras que le dan el titulo merecedor de Corpse Party

I want to preface this review by saying I'm a super corpse party fan. I have 100%ed almost all of the games, and replay blood covered every time it gets released to a new console. It was a pivotal cornerstone of my childhood, so to say I'm a corpse party fan is an understatement.

That being said, I really didn't like Blood Drive. I can best summarize the experience as: "It lost the plot." This statement can be applied to every aspect of the game. The tonal dissonance between the narratives of Blood Drive vs. BC and BoS is really jarring. Blood Drive scales up the plot so drastically that it feels like a game for a completely different franchise. The occult aspects and witchy phenomena were always an undertone in the previous titles, but with Blood Drive, it is a very loud overtone, and there are a bunch of new characters that feel more at home in a persona game than corpse party. It's so odd to see a relatively self-contained franchise with a small, solid cast, clear messaging about loss and cycles, take a turn to become witches ex machina. The art style and the 3D chibi style also feels like it lost the plot. The visual novel style of BoS and the Pixel art of BC were gritty and balanced the atmosphere and the detailed background CGs well. The chibi art style is, honestly, a choice. It diminishes the old styles' horror and grit, making the game look like an amateur student game project. The gameplay isn't special, it can be tedious and repetitive at times, the story is extremely messy and disorganized, and the art direction is fairly underdeveloped compared to its predecessors. I've heard people describe this game as being more like a corpse party fanfic than a canon continuation of the games, and that's honestly a fair assessment.

The only people I saw who honestly liked Blood Drive were people who either weren't familiar with the original games or didn't like the original games at all. Every person I know in the Corpse Party fanbase usually pretends the canon ended with BoS and tries not to acknowledge this game at all. It just doesn't really do it for Corpse Party fans.

I would only recommend this game if you are a corpse party fan and care abt the lore. There are many things that I absolutely hate. The 3D chibi models are so ugly and annoying. The stamina bar sucks and there are phantoms who are trying to kill you. With your sucky stamina, its a guaranteed death. Don't get me started on some sus weird looking tentacle that comes out of the ground. Apparently this thing adds to ur darkening. Literally WHY??? Out of all the things in the world to choose from, its a tentacle. Lastly, I am further reminded of dumb characters like Ayumi. Also, why is Yuka alive? She should have died and Seiko should have lived. Great game for a corpse party fan, tho you would have to live with these annoying things.

Corpse Party Blood Drive, the black cat of the franchise. Some hate it some love it, you will have to play it to determine which one you are. I myself found the game to be very good and enjoyable, I didnt mind the chibi like characters and the story was overall enjoyable. It did have very weird and odd plot twists and sometimes was downright silly. There were also some quicktime events and other annoying chase scenes that bugged me while playing the game and sometimes made me rage tbh because of how badly designed the game is at these parts (Near the end of the game) but overall I think it was a enjoyable experience and time/money well spent on a game to pass the time.

tbh it's worse than the previous 2 games.. introduces random ass characters that don't really need to be there, shifts focus to random occult ex machina. only recommend it because it wraps up the story. i dunno man, this one doesn't do it for me. i loved blood covered and BoS but this one falls flat imo.

The story is complete whiplash but ties around to making sense. I think it's better to try and comprehend everything *after* it's over. Which isn't necessarily a good thing, but... I honestly preferred the more down-to-earth style from the previous games.

I'd say it was enjoyable. If you push the weird parts out of the way, it's worth the time.

It was good, kind of eh in the first half but the last 3 chapters made it good for the most part

Most of the extra chapters were such a damn snoozefest- some of them were just of lame ah characters that aren't relevant at all, like the kizami guy, why is he still here?

No idea why they added a bunch of new characters and lock the lore of some of them behind the goofy ah spinoff, or would it be called the actual 3rd game since it does take place between this one and book of shadows, and it has stuff that forwards the plot (like just an inch).

Doesn't matter either way because spoiler! Most of them new rats don't make it, only like one or two-
Ayumi was such a dumbasstwerp like why is she so dumb in the first half, only locking in on the last chapters after having a goober take her back in time. Kind of a sloppy ending, and idrc who that skeleton ♥♥♥♥ was at the end.

Actually ♥♥♥♥ most of this game. But I do like it overall! :D

[u][h1]REVIEW:[/h1][/u] Finally, after spending over 100 hours with this series, I am finished. The Corpse Party is over.. Yeah, there wasn't ever a party. BUT! I had quite a good experience with this series. It's taken a lot of the negative things in 2024 that have happened to me off my mind, and for that, I am grateful.

It's been quite the journey to Heavenly Host, or "Nirvana", which is the revamped Heavenly Host for Blood Drive. It took me a while to get used to certain elements for this game, especially the chibi-styled characters.. cringy.

I decided and promised myself that I'd wear headphones during this game, to get the full horror effects of the dummy head mic, which produce 3D sounds. It's a staple in the Corpse Party series. This makes the games scarier: the sounds are 3D, come from the left, the right, and even behind you (HOW?!), creating a sense of being truly surrounded by demonic presences (and even flies. Yes. Flies. And it actually feels WEIRD).

I *deeply* regret not playing the other games with headphones, because this game is nowhere near as scary. It's unfortunate, but I didn't mind that too much. With countless hours of getting to know the cast, I was more enveloped in the universe and wanted to know how they were going to end it.

And... mostly, it was alright. Lots of people ABSOLUTELY hate this game and say it's the worst entry of the series. If we're not counting 'Birthday Bash', I would probably agree - but not by huge margins.

There were definitely flaws and strong annoyances in the story and the gameplay; there's no doubt about it. However, I enjoyed it and it wasn't bad enough to ruin the franchise for me. I'm even looking forward to the new game, Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion (which *probably* won't have any of the same characters, unless there's some big twist that ends up bringing back the Kisaragi High school group).

[u][h3] STORY[/h3][/u] Blood Drive introduces a few new characters. IMO, this decision was the wrong call. The new characters are mostly annoying and ruin a huge chunk of the story. I wish it would've stuck with the OG cast. The new characters in reference are Misuto, Magari and Ms. Kuon.

I'm not even sure who I hate more. Probably Misuto... he gets on my nerves, has an awful character design (all the new characters do), and is an extremely weak antagonist. Every time he spoke, I'd yawn. But, really, the same goes for Magari.

Along with the new characters brings pointless chaos. It involved secret societies, like the Illuminati, which bores the hell out of me. I hate this type of trope.

The new "demon" character, Sachi, was.. funny? Probably a bad thing. Every time Sachi would come on the screen and *cackle*, I'd bust out laughing; it wasn't scary. Sachiko's contributions to Blood Drive felt beyond meaningless, sadly...

I ended up liking Aiko, which is a semi-new character; I was shocked because I hated her in Birthday Bash! I *don't* hate this game or even the story - or maybe I was just happy to see the main characters again for a sequel.

I especially loved *SOME* of the Extra Chapters. In particular, Morishige and Kizami's Extra Chapter 1 "Last Waltz". It's about time these two met! I wish more of the MAIN game would've included Chapters like this!

[u][h3] GAMEPLAY[/h3][/u] THE SHADOWS ARE NOT FUN; THEY ARE ANNOYING! I hated getting chased while exploring, and they're hard to kite without a Talisman. The exploration was alright.

[u][h3] VISUALS[/h3][/u] I hated the chibi characters. But damn, the artwork in this game is 😘👌 ~crispy~. HDR looking anime drawings are surprisingly FIRE.

[u][h3] DIFFICULTY[/h3][/u] SHADOWS ARE ANNOYING! LEAVE ME ALONE! Pretty easy game, though. Save often.

[u][h3] MUSIC & SFX[/h3][/u] The music was almost amazing. The SFX were good, but meh. Although, I LOVED hearing the BA-DUM-DUM-DA-DUM-DA-DUUUUM theme, every time I got an item/Student ID.

[u][h3] VOICE ACTING[/h3][/u] I had my own personal character development. Read my first review of Corpse Party (2021). I didn't much care for Japanese voice acting. But now? I'm a fan!

Most of the voice acting was great. There's still the whole *PANT* and *WHEEZE* and *GULP* as the previous games. Also, I still can't stand Yuka, Sayaka and Inumaru! Not just the characters, but also the voices! 😅

[u][h3] GRIND[/h3][/u] For 100% it's semi-grindy. I ended up getting lazy and used a Cheat Engine sheet to speed up my 100% completion.

[u][h3] EXTRAS & SIDE QUESTS[/h3][/u] All of the extras like the previous games had are back. There's a new "Encyclopedia Obscura", definitions for terms that the game throws at you. It's fine, but I didn't care to read any of it.

The final "Soulful Testimonies" are back! It's interviews from the VA cast. I recommend listening to all of them AFTER you finish the game!

Finally, there are 8 Extra Chapters. Quality varies.

[u][h3] REPLAYABILITY[/h3][/u] You'll want to replay the Chapters to get "Wrong Ends" and the "True Ends".

[u][h3] PRICE[/h3][/u] If you are a fan of Corpse Party and have to see it through to the end, I would buy. That being said, I'd still recommend buying it on sale.

[u][h3] BUGS[/h3][/u] I didn't encounter many bugs, besides a few weird audio during a couple of songs. There's a softlock in Chapter 9 if you have a monitor above 60 FPS, and the FPS settings inside the menu seemed bugged, so hopefully you have a spare monitor if it is.

[u][h3] PC SPECS[/h3][/u] Has a lot of different choices for resolution. You'll need a decent/good PC for smooth gameplay.

버그가...좀 있습니다...
1. 유령한테 쫒겨서 장롱에 숨었는데도 무한으로 계속 심장이 뛰더라구요 장롱에 있을떄는 안열어보더니 나오니까 쫒아왔던....(자주저러진않고 진짜 드물게 운안좋으면 저러는 것 같습니다)

2. 유카 구한후에 벽이 다가와서 찌부될떄 이벤트에서 장애물을 피하는 첫번째 부분이 막혀서 아예 안지나가지는 버그가 있습니다

프레임이 60fps 이상이 아니면 무조건 절대 안지나가집니다.....저만 그런건줄 알았는데 스팀 커뮤니티 공략 가이드보고 알았습니다..

엔비디아 제어판(nvidia control pannel) 들어가서
3d설정관리-프로그램설정-프로그램(콥파 블러드드라이브선택추가)-최대프레임속도 60fps 이상으로 설정하시면 뚫립니다.

다른건 공략보거나 어떻게든 하겠지만 벽찌부 구간은 저처럼 막혀서 스토리진행 못되시는 분이 있을까봐 씁니다.....

it could be way better, both story and gameplay. the story felt boring and i really didnt like the ending. too many new characters for whats supposed to be the ending of the storyline. the ui/hud is practically nonexistent i think its dumb that theres no way of knowing how low your flashlights batteries are and the spirits are really boring. i also hated having to turn my computer down to 60hz to even play a majority of it. as a huge corpse party fan, this one might be the worst.

Persönlich hat mir dieses Spiel gut gefallen, und ich würde es vor allem denjenigen empfehlen, die Fans der *Corpse Party*-Reihe sind und es schätzen, die bekannte Schulumgebung in einer 3D-Darstellung zu erkunden.

Es bietet eine interessante Perspektive, sich durch die düstere Atmosphäre der Schule zu bewegen. Allerdings weicht die Handlung stark von den Erwartungen ab und erscheint mitunter seltsam, was die narrative Kohärenz des Spiels im Vergleich zu den anderen Titeln der Serie schwächt und man an manchen stellen nicht wirklich ernst nehmen kann. Es sollen eine Art Nachfolger darstellen und fügt viele random Charaktere der Story hinzu was auch nicht wirklich viel Sinn ergibt aber nicht weiter schlimm ist.

Das Gameplay unterscheidet sich ebenfalls stark von den bisherigen Spielen der Reihe, was für einige Spieler eine Umstellung bedeuten könnte. Es gibt einige seltsame Design Entscheidungen wie das [spoiler]fast über all Tentakel aus dem Boden kommen können und es ein nicht spür bares darkening System[/spoiler] gibt.

Was den Spielfortschritt angeht, so war es relativ einfach und wenig zeitaufwendig, die Trophäe für 100 % zu erreichen. Es erforderte keine übermäßig komplexen Herausforderungen, um alle Erfolge und Sammelobjekte freizuschalten, was das Spiel für Sammler und Komplettlisten besonders attraktiv macht. Jedoch gibt es bestimmte Namensschilder, die extrem schwer zu kriegen sind da Sie entweder keinen Sinn ergeben oder durch Bugs schwierig zu kriegen sind. Dies kann für Spieler, die die vollständige Sammlung anstreben, unnötige Frustration bedeuten.

Dazu gibt es einige technische Mängel, die das Spielerlebnis erheblich beeinträchtigen können. Ein besonders problematischer Bug tritt in einem Kapitel auf, in dem man [spoiler]vor einer sich nähenden Wand weg laufen muss und sich auf dem Weg Gegenstände befinden die den weg blockieren [/spoiler]. Wenn man das Spiel mit mehr als 60 FPS spielt, ist es nicht möglich,[spoiler] die Gegenstände [/spoiler] zu überwinden, was das Vorankommen unmöglich macht und somit sehr nervig ist. Diese Art von Bug ist nicht nur frustrierend, sondern behindert auch den Spielfluss massiv, da man gezwungen ist, die FPS manuell vom Monitor anzupassen, um weiterzukommen. Solche Bugs mindern das ansonsten relative positive Spielerlebnis spürbar.

Zusammengefasst lässt sich sagen, dass dieses Spiel nicht zu den stärksten Titeln der Reihe zählt. Es weist deutliche Schwächen sowohl in der Story als auch im technischen Bereich auf, die das Gesamterlebnis trüben. Dennoch würde ich es vor allem denjenigen ans Herz legen, die die Reihe schätzen und bereit sind, sich auf ein etwas anderes Gameplay und eine andere (komische und nicht so ernst zunehmende) narrative Herangehensweise einzulassen. Trotz seiner Mängel hat das Spiel durchaus seine Vorzüge und könnte für eingefleischte Fans der Serie einen Versuch wert sein.

Solo lo recomiendo para los fanaticos de Corpse Party. El juego en si no es malo, pero al ser un juego de miedo (supongo) debe cumplir con ciertas caracteristicas para ser calificado como tal y eso lo vuelve un poco predecible. Los personajes no estan mal, pero tampoco destacan. El juego es un poco corto (6, 8 o 12 horas como mucho) si vas directo al grano. La musica esta bien. Si les llama la atencion, comprenlo con una gran rebaja.

ch9 でモニターのリフレッシュレートを 60 Hz より大きく設定している場合、当たり判定のバグでオブジェクトに引っかかり進行不能になるケースが有るので注意。
進行不能にならずとも当たり判定に違和感あるので初めから 60 Hz にしておいたほうが良さそう。

内容に関してはいろいろ詰めすぎてとっ散らかっているという印象は否めない。
初代をシンプルでローテクながらおどろおどろしい雰囲気の良作とするなら、今作は見かけは3Dにしたもののプレイヤーとして感じる恩恵ないハリボテ感。
バイオハザードに例えるなら1と6の対比に近いかもしれない。(こんなのバイオじゃない→こんなのコープスパーティーじゃないみたいな)
秘密結社から送り込まれた霊能力を持つ刺客(痴女コス)、魔導書争奪戦、その血の運命、ボスバトル、世界征服といった派手な伝記物的要素をぶっこんできてるが、それをシリーズの延長として相応しいと考えるか、あるいは単体で楽しめるかどうかで評価が分かれそう。
新キャラにスポットが当たる一方で初代からいるレギュラーメンバーの活躍の度合いはいまいち。
あゆみが主人公兼ヒロインなわけだが他の面子のモブ感。岸沼は良いやつなんだがな。
ポッと出の設定盛った便利キャラが強すぎるがゆえに退場させられるみたい展開もどうかと。

ゲーム部分に関しては良いものとは言い難い。
私の環境では箱コンは認識されるがキーコンフィグを1機能毎に手動で割り当てる必要あり。
移動はダッシュがスタミナ制で切れると数秒立ち止まる。
ダメージ床、ワイヤートラップ、執拗に追跡してくる幽霊といった妨害要素が相まって進行のテンポが悪い。
会話イベントのあとのアクションイベントで死亡するとやり直しが手間だったりもする。(結構死ぬ)
キーアイテム取得の導線も不親切なものがちらほらある。(探索範囲が広いのでイライラするくらいなら攻略サイトを見たほうがいい)
音量バランスが悪く、突然大音量になることもあるので音は小さめに設定したほうが良い。
天神小学校の3D化に関しては評価できる。
メタルギアソリッド4で1の舞台に突入するような高揚感ある。
総じて、ホラー感を出すために難易度を上げたがイベントの再戦や移動を繰り返すせいで逆にホラー感が薄れ面倒くさい気持ちが勝るというイマイチホラーゲーシステムの典型と言えるだろう。

過去作をプレイしているならこの作品で一区切りであることと、超鈍足進行だがシリーズは続くので以降も追うつもりならセールの時におすすめ。

I'm disappointed by this game, i waited years to play it in pc. Where do i start?
The first part of the history is quite good, the continuation of the book of shadows, the hype to know what happened was so high, the first chapter was really good, the trauma of the characters was very intense.but then miss the point with all these side characters that nobody cares, the main villan is stupidity killed by a neutral character, im very close to finish the game but know we need to comment the gameplay.

The 3d chibby model is a good improvement of the first game but i think the potencial was very wasted, game have barely death scene, all is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring black screen and a text. you play a wrong ending and all you get a black screen and a text this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy decision for the fans of the game who came from previous games that were more gory,puzzles are simple and boring as ♥♥♥♥, and the few bosses are artificially hard cuz the gameplay is badly made.

and that is all, a pure disapointed , the first one was very good with a very simple graphics and intense history with a good gore, the secondo was more a visual nobel with gore and the third it has the bad of the previous.

la verdad es el mas flojito de todos.
de primeras el Gameplay se siente bien al volver a ser un RPG pero luego te das cuenta que es mas un intento de Survival Horror y la verdad no seria malo de no ser porque las mecánicas se pudieron implementar de mucha mejor manera, por ejemplo es mas castroso que aterrador tener que estar escapando de un fantasma ya que este no te deja de perseguir nunca a menos que distribuyas muy bien tu estamina que de paso esto ultimo también es frustrante ya que por ella tardas mucho mas en recorrer la escuela lo cual hace medio tediosa la exploración lo cual junto a los fantasmas que aparecen de la nada lo vuelve aun mas tedioso.
en temas de la historia esta perfecta y es muy épica en la parte de Ayumi y su trasfondo, lo cual también es lo malo porque este juego literal pudo haberse llamado "AYUMI SALVANDO AL MUNDO" y no habría casi diferencia, no esta mal enfocar el juego mayormente en Ayumi (Ayumi me cae bien y es un buen personaje bastante interesante) pero es que al ser esta la conclusión de la Heavenly Host saga esperaría que los otros personajes también pudieran concluir satisfactoriamente sus historias y brillar mas, cosa la cual no pasa y hace que el final de esta saga se sienta apresurado, desaprovecharon muchas oportunidades para continuar algunas cosas vistas en los juegos anteriores y de paso hacer que los otros personajes crezcan y evolucionen como pudo haber sido un reencuentro entre Seiko y Naomi o que Yoshiki tan siquiera le confesara ya su amor a Ayumi canónicamente.
el Lore pues esta bien, finalmente responde muchas de las dudas que teníamos, se contradice poco con los juegos anteriores y los retroalimenta bien pero pienso honestamente que se fueron demasiado a lo pagano y al final queda medio raro la fusión de una escuela japonesa con estos temas, que de paso la forma de descubrirlo ya no tiene chiste porque te lo cuentan en vez de descubrirlo mayormente tu mismo y a un ritmo mas despacio como en sus antecesores x'D.
en conclusión le doy un 7/10, lo recomiendo únicamente si jugaste los juegos anteriores y quieres saber como termina la historia, de lo contrario es meh.
PD: los graficos están chistosos me recuerdan a Pokemon xd.

Keşke oyunu 3d yapmak yerine tipik pixel indie horror tarzı bir şey olarak tasarlansaymış cp'nin klasik oyunu gibi. Hadi onu geçtim oyunda çok fazla hata var. Gameplay berbat, Bol bol cheap horror. Oyunu zorlaştırmak adına yapılmış veya bir tür atmosfer yaratmak için yapılan fakat oyunun gidişatını fazlasıyla bozan, olur olmadık yerlerde çıkıp musallat olan chibi hayaletler. Sürekli düşük HP, Koşmak için dakikalarca süren countdown, ve daha fazlası. Oyun maalesef çok zorlama olmuş genel anlamda, Hikayenin kendiside olmak üzere gidişatı da anlamsız, bozuk ve saçmaydı. Cp fanı olarak oynamak için zorladım kendimi fakat sonunda dayanamayıp bıraktım oynamayı ve halen bitiremedim. Bilerek kötü yapılmış bir oyun gibi his alıyorsunuz oynarken. Buglar düzeltilse bile oyunun base'i olmamış, Düzeltilebilcek gibi değil.

Ok... let's go.

It was genuinely one of the few games ever that I finished and didn't feel empty after finishing it.

Some parts are EXTREMELY frustrating, the story isn't that good, there's its moments, but it's mostly bad. But the thing I hated the most, not even a single doubt about it, was the enemies, the glass around the school floors (the ones that you step every single fu***ng moment and loses HP), those random tentacles, THE STAMINA!!! THE STAMINAAAA!!!!! You look like a fu***ng smoker with lung cancer trying to run for more than ten seconds and then realizing that you can't because your unathletic and unhealthy as f***.

Also, the characters. Apart from the ones that we already know from previous games, the new ones are... weak.

-Kuon Niwa is actually one of the few characters that isn't horrible, but she's whatever to me;
-Magari is whatever;
-Kuon Aiko is... I like Aiko. She's okay;
-Satsuki is another whatever character and actually useless in the story;
-Inumaru is whatever, and I think I actually don't like him. His story is pratically useless and he's there only to (spoiler alert) give you a wrong end in the last chapter;
-There's Sachi too, that she's just a failed attempt to make a character as good as Sachiko;
-And then there's Misuto.................look.

I genuinely think that Misuto is one of the worst characters I've ever seen in my entire gamer life. I mean, he's so cringe (I hate that word), his story is awful, he's like "OhLoOKHowBaDiAm!i'MsOBaDohMyG0sH", come on. He's not cool, he's not fun, he doesn't have any kind of charisma that makes you think "oh, I like this character", NO! He's nothing.
Misuto Kiriya will NEVER be as cool as Sachiko. For me, Sachiko is waaaaay more charismatic than him, even though a lot of people hate her for... actually good reasons. But I like her!

Anyway, if I have to define Misuto with a single word, the word is: sh*t.

And talking about the characters, man, this game had so much potential for me, because the idea of "bringing the dead back to life" could give us some great interactions and more scenes with Seiko, Mayu and others, but they didn't use this potential and just made three or four scenes that are related to them, APART from the extra chapters.

Okay. I think I said every bad part of it, but come on, there are good things in the game, like, as I said before, some parts of the story, the relationship between Ayumi and Yoshiki, which I really liked, but there's more bad parts than good parts, making this whole experience a waste of time and money.

And my final rating is 3/10.

If you ask me if I recommend i, I will say NO. Don't buy this game, you're probably gonna waste your money with something that, unfortunately, it's not worth it. Buy something better.

It's such a masterpiece but it's one that needs a tiny bit of tuning.

[h1] About: Corpse Party: Blood Drive [/h1]

The story takes place two months after the end of Book of Shadows, which was the second entry in the Corpse Party series. If you're new to Corpse Party, first play Corpse Party 2021 (Corpse Party: Blood Covered), then Corpse Party: Book of Shadows and lastly this game. I won't share the story because it would spoil it. Play and learn for yourself!

[h1] Blood Drive vs. Blood Covered & Book of Shadows [/h1]

There are a lot of differences!

1. The game map and characters are now in 3D unlike previous entries! Sprites shown in dialogue as well as gallery/artwork remain 2D though!

2. There is a new hiding mechanic now. There are also traps in Heavenly Host that you have to look out for or else you'll be damaged.

3. There are a HANDFUL of new characters! Most are side characters but they're all crucial to this new story.

5. Because of how Corpse Party 2021 ended, there is a new method to enter and escape Heavenly Host which SURPRISE, SURPRISE! STILL EXISTS! You'll learn why it still exists as you play and learn how it formed in the first place as well.

6. The biggest difference is all about the horror experience though! This game is absolutely FRIGHTENING! It is scarier than the previous entries in the series! I was so scared that I began using guides towards the final chapters!

7. Sprites are in their best quality yet!

[h1] What I loved about Corpse Party: Blood Drive [/h1]

1. [spoiler] The ending. Without a doubt. That was the ending we all wanted and the ending we all fought for since Book of Shadows. The ending almost fooled me until the very end. Absolutely loved it - that was the best way to end this trilogy. [/spoiler]

2. Sprites & Artwork. I just loved seeing it all HD and so vibrant.

3. [spoiler] The Sayaka and Harayuki part in Chapter 10. It felt satisfying to witness Sayaka put a wild Harayuki to rest. [/spoiler]

4. In an extra chapter, we finally learned how Morshige died in Corpse Party 2021. Book of Shadows showed a non-canon way, this game showed the canon way. Watching the canon way was satisfying. It was a really sad extra but I absolutely loved it. It really showed that Shige wasn't always a corpse photo loving insane character the moment he entered Heavenly Host and that he was still human inside and had respect for the dead (remember how he put Mayu in a Ziploc bag - that's respect!). The extra chapter proved that he wasn't like Kizami as he said. And I caught onto Team GrisGris sticking to their promise from Corpse Party 2021 about Shige and Kizami maybe meeting again someday. Great way to end the confusion about the Morshige character following Corpse Party 2021's ending!

[h1] What I disliked about Corpse Party: Blood Drive [/h1]

1. Many lines don't have voice acting. Why...? :(((

2. I loved how their was controller support for this entry but I hated how there were no default controls for my new gen Xbox controller. Had to set it all up myself.

3. Bug: On two occasions I couldn't click on "Options" and "Bonuses". Had to restart the game to fix it.

4. Bug: Had to lower my FPS to 60 for the Chapter 9 den chase with Satoshi and Yuka. It's apparently a really old bug, why hasn't it been fixed yet?

5. Bug: Forgot which Chapter (guessing 0), Kishinuma's legs and hands clips through roof railing while eating lunch with Satoshi and Kuon Sensei.

6. Maybe a skill issue but it felt like our stamina was a bit too low. We should be able to run a few more seconds.

7. Sometimes you have too limited time to make choices. I had a few times where I was still reading the choices and the timer ended so I locked myself into a bad ending without meaning to.

8. Book of Shadows was easier and had temp saves. Why did you guys scrape that concept for Blood Drive? It would have been really useful for this harder entry. Didn't like how we couldn't temp save.

9. I understood the story but it felt a tiny bit complicated or overwhelming to digest since it's so much new story being told at once. I think it's because of Magari and Mitsuo's background stories.

10. Phantoms disappear at cutscenes but will be back in the place they last were after the cutscene. I wish they permanently disappeared when we entered cutscenes.

11. Bug: The first time after I went through the long cutscene with Magari, Ayumi and Aiko about Naho's hairpin at Second Wing Floor 2, my screen went black so I had to go through that cutscene again.

I know I have listed a lot of cons, but they're all minor and don't diminish the overall gaming experience. This is a horror game - it's meant to scare you. Was I scared, pooping my pants? Yes. Then the horror game is good. The pros of Blood Drive outweigh the cons.

I have 100% beat the game but still got to read how victims died and listen to soulful testimonies. I'll happily get to that.

Lastly, fantastic job Team GrisGris! The tech, experience and art in Blood Drive surpassed any previous Corpse Party!

I can't really recommend it unless you're a die hard fan that absolutely must drink up all Corpse Party content. The silly 3d models take away a lot of the atmosphere first and foremost. The game is full of chases that don't really serve any narrative purpose. You have to avoid hazards around the school that deplete your health, but you're healed as soon as you save so it's mostly just there to be a nuisance. They pack in so many new characters, nobody has time to breathe. While it's called the end of the Heavenly Host Saga, it's pretty much a completely different, badly patched together "story" with Heavenly Host slapped on and barely holding together the cracks. It won't leave you feeling very satisfied by the end. Even the bad ends, where Corpse Party typically shines, are lackluster. Hardly any CGs, and really just bland. If you pick it up, keep your expectations low.

2011那年有两部日式恐怖游戏在我心中封神，一个是《七日死》系列，另一个就是《尸体派对》系列，记得当时给小P找游戏，在电玩巴士的网页中一眼看到了那独特的封面和名字，我当时是抱着猎奇心理才想着下来玩玩，没想到被它的恐怖和绝望的氛围给吓到，但又被剧情深深吸引，在通关了血色笼罩后又迫不及待找起了第二部，发现了当时刚出没多久的影之书....从此我被这个系列圈粉，14年驭血发售因为没有PSV在B站云通关了一次，时光飞逝，物是人非，如今我的小P也没有了，云通关的记忆也模糊了，说来也怪今年夏促我突然就想起了这个游戏，玩了几天也通关了，剧情虽然没有前几部好，但也算是给天神小学的故事画上了句号，画面虽然换成了3D，但是恐怖氛围却没有提升反而降低了，有时候碰撞体积也很迷，CG也不是很多，这部虽然在各方面都差强人意，但我还是喜欢的，听说今年秋天要出新作了，希望制作组不会让玩家失望（大概率新作也没中文）

As a fan of Corpse Party series, I unfortunately can't truthfully reccomend this to anyone.

Of course, if you're already familiar with Corpse Party this will definitely not deter you from playing this installment. However, if Corpse Party wasn't to your general tastes before - Just watch a gameplay and save yourself some money. Possibly also nerves lost at this game too. To this day one extremely annoying bug remains unfixed, which during my 6 hours straight of playthrough non-stop, made me feel like I lost several years of my life span.

Firstly, BD has ridiculous amounts of fanservice. Yeah, sure I get it. It's bound to be there at some point (Let's be honest, horrors with brutality on highschoolers in cutesy anime-style? I know what's the target audience here, alright.) and earlier installments don't shy from it either, but the copious amounts here are just off-putting. Especially during what is supposed to be a quite serious story. Having a ton of characters throw themselves at the retired protagonist isn't considered peak writing either, taking in the fact that none of them have anything special going on about them. ([spoiler] Other than an omnipotent teacher who's a decade older than the guy she develops feelings for... For no specified reason. LOL. [/spoiler])

The gameplay is horrenderous. I've no idea who asked for those graphics, but never let them into the studio again. Clunky space with little variety which worked well with the scary atmosphere in previous titles, but now it can't really paint itself in any sort of a fearful light. [spoiler] Changing the school into some red tentacle liminal space isn't a good design choice either... [/spoiler]

The newly introducted characters are a poor choice, especially given BD being the final installment. Their personalities revolve around certain anime archetypes and outside of some sprinkles of backstory, there's little left of them to hook you on. You also can't help, but notice how much our veterans characters got buthered too. I'm glad that none of my favourites had to be blatantly used as a plot device (at best). One of the honest (good) surprises was EX-Chapter 1. Please do watch it if you're not planning on playing through it on your own, but still care a bit about story or just character-development.

Also, I couldn't help, but notice the weird push of making Ayumi the protagonist. Which was executed poorly. Especially since very little was teased about her identity in previous games, only to drop an atrocious amounts of lore and "apparently" previously estabilished backstory on the player. I had feeling this would go down this way during the preview in BoS, so I wasn't taken by surprise. It's a shame, as Ayumi had a lot of potential. She really could use this in a way to grow as a person, maybe even work on her saviour-complex and survivor guilt. But unfortunately her character gets pitifully reduced to how she's been in BC... And it doesn't even do her any justice during the ending.

([spoiler] No, introducting cults and witches does not make Ayumi or her Sister seem like a big deal. The shift from paranormal to magic is simply off-putting and minimalizes all that past titles estabilished. I personally felt like Sachiko's story was morphed into something too complicated and far less emotional. It's far easier to connect with an actual human fear of the dead and afterlife rather than supernatural witches and magic spells. They went against all that made Corpse Party the franchise so many people adored. [/spoiler])

Corpse Party series still holds a special place in my heart and I adore some of their characters a lot, but BD really made it hard to enjoy. If you're still willing to try the game no matter the mixed reviews, go for it. It is certainly a experience, but one I cannot say to find fun or endertaining.

Não dá, é simplesmente indefensável o que fizeram com este jogo, não vou nem me atentar nos erros graves que a história trás pois estaria dando spoilers, mas já adianto, não vale a pena, não é um bom fechamento para a saga e só é uma sequência extendida artificialmente por propósitos de fazer mais um título e lucrar.

Como não irei falar da história, falarei dos problemas técnicos que este jogo tem (e esse jogo tem um monte deles).
A começar que mesmo com um hardware decente o bastante para rodar o game, não consegui jogar com todas as configurações gráficas no máximo, nunca vi um jogo tal mal optimizado assim, é sério, coisa de eu estar andando normalmente ingame e usando 30% da placa, ir para uma cutscene que é literalmente UMA IMAGEM ESTÁTICA e o uso da GPU subir para 70%, picos totalmente aleatórios, e isso fez meu computador REINICIAR mais de 12 VEZES tentando tankar os gráficos mais decentes, mas não pude fazer nada e então tive que reduzir tudo para o MÍNIMO, só assim para poder CONSEGUIR JOGAR O JOGO. Sério, qual é a necessidade de colocar um espelho funcional dentro do jogo?

Com essas reiniciadas que meu PC sofreu, ao entrar novamente depois de algumas tentativas, fui na tela de seleção de capítulos, e adivinha, cadê os capítulos que eu havia desbloqueado até agora? EU NÃO PODIA DAR NEW GAME NELES MAIS, por algum motivo meus loads se mantiveram intactos. ademais, essa falha agora me IMPOSSIBILITA de fazer todas as conquistas do jogo, pois junto dos crashes também perdi os conteúdos da galeria in-game que o jogo possui, conteúdos no qual eu só posso desbloquear rejogando o capítulo 0, e adivinha? Eu não posso mais. :)

Um pouco sobre a história sem spoilers.
Outro problema é o quão extenso o jogo é, e mesmo assim, consegue ser pobre em conteúdo, conforme os capítulos passam (10 no total), você sente que cada vez mais tudo começa a desandar e nada faz mais sentido, depois do capítulo 3 ou 4 você já começa a sentir o jogo entrando em um ritmo "automático".

Sem contar a falta de músicas nesse jogo, Corpse Party é conhecido pela qualidade de suas BGMs durante os capítulos do Blood Covered, mas aqui? Se há 7 faixa no total já é muito. Parece que são duas músicas repetindo por todos os 10 capítulos inteiros.

Para qualquer jogador comum, é notável a falta de direção que o jogo passa depois de algumas horas, não me entendam mal, eu adoro o Blood Covered e ele é uma maravilha como jogo, e indiscutivelmente muito acima do nivel de Blood Drive, Blood Drive parece uma tentativa de farmar um pouco mais em cima da saga, aposto que muitas decisões sobre o final do jogo passado foram influenciadas pela intenção de fazer outro jogo, o qual falhou, e não é nem 1% do que o jogo original foi.

Isso pode ser sobre gosto, mas não me agrada o visual chibi no jogo, ainda mais 3D, algumas cenas chegam a parecer uma comédia de tão sem sal que o estilo faz parecer, as mortes estão mais leves do que nunca e CGs mal existem nesse jogo, Wrong Endings são simplesmente telas de game over sem nenhum trabalho colocado em cima, sinceramente, por que converter um visual consolidado que é o pixelado de RPG Makers para um 3D mal feito?

Resumo: se você é masoquista e não bate bem da cabeça, jogue, se você tem amor pelo jogo original, passe longe e leia fanfictions do jogo que eu aposto que qualquer fã consegue fazer uma construção e final melhores do que a própria desenvolvedora.

I had heard bad things about this one, but I went in with an open mind. It, unfortunately, was as bad as I'd heard. The story is a really lackluster follow up to the previous Corpse Party games, and after a certain point stops being any kinda horror and just feels like your typical shounen or JRPG plot. Don't get me wrong, love a good "chosen one saves the world" from time to time, but that's not what I want from this series. The newcomers feel pretty out of place for the most part, and the whole story has things ending off worse for the core five than at the start.

Gameplay wise, it's clunky, annoying, and tedious for the most part. I can understand wanting to do more than just the "walk around and figure it out (with occasional chases)" of the previous ones, but this was not the way to do it. If you wanna be tormented by shadow people chasing you down to beat the ♥♥♥♥ outta you, I'd recommend mixing alcohol and benadryl, it'd be more fun. And those floor hazards are just a pain in the ass. Achievement hunters, be prepared for a pain in the ass.

Anyway, I don't have a good conclusion, but neither does this game, or the Heavenly Host saga as a whole, so it's only fitting.

DIESER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BOSS XD Ich mag das Spiel keine frage ich liebe die Corpse Party spiele auch wenn ich bei Corpse Party 2 ausversehen japanisch gewählt habe und deswegen das Spiel ned spielen kann weil ich es nimma auf Deutsch bekomme auch wenn ich es deinstalliere und wiedr hgoch lade aber das ist ein anderes Thema. Aufjeden fall hab ich auf jeden Teil dieser Spiele 100% bis auf diesen und das liegt allein an den Boss kampf -_- ich weis ned stelle ich mich dumm an oder so aber (ACHTUNG SPOILER) wenn du in die Bibiliothek kommst musst du dir einfach mal 4-5 Seiten aneignen und dann hast du beim Bosskampf später einfach mal nur so 5 Sekunden gefüllt Zeit die Fragen oder Spell antworten zum auswählen mit einer gespiegelten Tastatur :D ich will gar ned mal aufzählen wie oft ich mich vertippt habe und das schlimme ist für jeden Fehler gibts ein anderes Ende. Der Rest ist eigendlich genau das was ich an Corpse Party mag: game play 1A, Story 1A und es macht mir auch Spaß nur der Boss Kampf geht mir tierisch auf die nerven XD

I want to start with I've been a die hard fan of this series for the past 10 or so years, and I watched all of the play throughs years ago on Youtube before playing them myself recently. I choose to believe this story line is not canon - the premise warps in on itself. [spoiler] Aiko goes to Ayumi because she believes the Book of Shadows is in the Nirvana. The thoughtograph (or...whatever it's called) was a hoax, a cruel joke played by, SUPPOSEDLY, Sachi. Except, according to Misuto, Sachi didn't get to the Nirvana until AFTER Ayumi got there, because Ayumi brought Sachi's teeth with her. Aiko was therefore tricked by Sachi BEFORE Ayumi brought Sachi to the Nirvana. I get that we aren't supposed to believe Misuto, but the evidence is pretty damning. [/spoiler]

I feel like the story line was weak, and that comes from someone who LOVES lore. I don't come to games like this for the game play, but for the plot. I couldn't get immersed by the story line...because it was so bad. If this was the "end" of the Heavenly Host saga, they should have just left it alone at Book of Shadows. [spoiler] Leaving us off at the cliffhanger of Hinoe's death would have been preferable to this story. [/spoiler] I really hope that the upcoming release this year (Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion) will rectify some of the shortcomings of Blood Drive. I want to see more of Ayumi and Yoshiki, and hopefully we'll see a fulfilling conclusion to this story.

really? The story is terrible... feels like they really tried to stretch the story by adding in some new things here and there. In my opinion, it just felt very bland. Including the new characters, they simply felt so out of pocket. Seriously? you're telling me a little girl in a bikini is my enemy... *sigh* Let me tell you- when you hit chapter 9, You can't beat the game unless you cap your FPS. "why?" you would ask, simply because they made the 3D models too fat to get through a small spacing. tsk- how annoying. Just stick to the 2D at this point- not like it was ever a problem.

Whether it be each individual aspect or the game as a whole, "Blood Drive" not only fails at what it sets out to do, but does so in spectacular fashion. The game play is frustrating to the point of being unplayable and the visual presentation, particularly the use of 3D graphics, is so mishandled that it makes most scenes look unintentionally hilarious. The worst aspect of it by far however is the story, as the pacing is atrocious, the new characters are extremely unlikable, and the plot is nonsensical, needlessly convoluted, and so far removed from what made the original "Corpse Party" so great that it doesn't even feel like they both belong in the same series. (1/10).

This game broke me. I taught that Sachiko's Birthday Bash ruined some characters but this game manages to ruin even more. The plot is needlessly complicated, adding and retconning a lot of stuff for no good reason.
Don't get me started on the ending, if I was younger, it would've kept me up at night, crying over how bad it was and how much it managed to throw an enjoyable story out the window.

If you are just starting with the franchise, stop at the first game or maybe Book of Shadows. If you wish to plunge deeper, the only thing you will find at the end is disappointment. I hope Corpse Party 2: Darkness Distortion will revive the franchise and give us a story with an amazing ending. I don't even know if I would like for them to try to fix this games story in the new one or just ignore it completely.

Despite it saying it took me 15.8 hours ish to complete this game, in reality it took me 2 years to complete this game due to the bug in chapter 9, which after you look into it, is easily fixable. It was only due to that steam post today that I was able to complete the game.

This game was really good, and as long as you didn't experience the same bug I did in chapter 9 that I did, it's really good. 3D aspects were a bit all over the place sometimes as without a controller it can be hard to move, but my choice.

All in all, this game gets an 8/10 from me and I will be trying Dead Patient soon.
