Storyline

Chaos reigns in Middle-earth, and war is unending. All factions have turned against each other, and this chaos has led to problems arising everywhere. Bandits and deserters are increasing, and major strongholds have been taken over by large monsters. Some factions seek commanders to lead them through the many battles ahead, and someone, seeking to fulfill that wish, summons famous commanders from our world into theirs. Thus, the player embarks on a peculiar adventure, leading a Dwarven legion as Richard I.

id like to say this first, get the game when on discount. small discount. the game is great dont get me wrong however it is both frustrating and maddening.
there are only a few decks you can even try making. the most important thing is that there only a few relics & cards WORTH getting every time, even to point of just restarting the game/route/match or whatever. there was a review i saw else where about the types of cards/units you can get are to limited. i agree with that, entirely.
for example, there is a magic type card/units, all together i dare say there is only ?4-7? of them. most of them is not even common. 1-2 of which is only useful in certain deck builds. then to top that off, there is an evolving card but RARELY if ever, appears, sometimes you might even get quest/event or so for it. the card requires for evolution to kill a bit. in the quest/event, it requires you to have x magic cards or so

aside from that there is a few tribal cards, fewer beast cards. both of which isnt something you have off the fly, including the magic cards.
i hadnt got every power up or unlock. it is a grind im unwilling to go through. per COMPLETE run, you might get around 700 crystals or whatever. the lowest amount of points if im not mistaken is like 250 for the unlocks. the highest is 20k, some of them are below around the 2500. yea suffice to say im not going to go out of my way to grind that...per complete run is around or above 30 mins if im not mistaken.

i know im listing negatives, but i enjoy the type of game play. im simply voicing the details that are frustrating or annoying to me. they should either do an update including more cards, reducing the grind along with other things.

I have a love and hate relationship with this game. It's very easy to learn the cards and its function but building your deck is hard, especially when I'm about to fighting against the higher enemies and the bosses.

I have some suggestion that will make the game enjoyable:
1. Increase the amount of Ember
2. Level difficulty
3. New variety of cards
4. New factions like elves and orcs
and
5. New enhancement system likes increase mana

Really cool game but after it came out it only got a couple small updates and then bam dropped. Last update was in august. Really not sure what happened. Cool game but a lot of dropped content and unusable stuff. Like one magic unit in the game because they never got around to dropping the rest.

A very fun, but broken game. I find numerous times that trying to deploy units to a spot on the battlefield that's too close to where your hand is displayed just doesn't work. I'll have to try four or five times to try to get the card to play where I want it in those situations. The game sometimes offers you a quest to complete, but it's inconsistent and not clear when or why quests are offered. Sometimes, a quest is offered after the first elite fight, sometimes after the first combat in act 1, and sometimes never offered at all for an entire run. I accepted a quest today to "Have 4 tribal cards." I added 1 tribal card to my deck, and before I found another that I wanted, I noticed the quest was somehow completed. Also, there seems to be only 4 or 5 tribal cards in total, so good luck. Some quest rewards, such as receiving the Gyrocopter from "Spend 200 steel," are actually anti-synergy for the type of deck you'd build to complete the quest (Gyrocopters consume 5 steel each time they attack, but if you're spending steel to complete the quest, you've probably built a deck that wants to spend steel, so using the Gyrocopter now makes it harder to use the rest of your deck.) Certain game mechanics are simply not balanced. Stealth causes a unit to be ignored by opposing units, even if the stealth unit is actively attacking. There is no ability that allows your units to target units with stealth, so you either have to have direct damage or units with counterattack (which seems to be very rare). Units with indomitable take no more than 1 damage at a time, even from the counterattack of a commander, so a buffed indomitable unit can pretty much win every battle. Certain synergies just don't seem to have enough cards to actually work. Also, even though elites have a higher chance for rare card rewards, if you use a reroll on the card reward, don't expect to see cards of the same rarity in your reroll. You're almost guaranteed to reroll rares into commons.

I like it.
Devs if you're listening. So many times at the start of the run, instead of selecting the Relic. I hit skip.
"gain a random rare reclic" I don't know if my brain just thinks I've gained it. It seems like it's showing me "This is what you have now" but I don't make that mistake during the run. Just at the start.
- Sometimes I get my team and the enemey team mixed up. Especially if they are usng the same cards.
- Improve the skip selection button. Sometimes its thought as accept when moving quickly.

I think most get used to it, but probably annoying to miss out for new players. Even though it's just human error and not a big deal. Just annoying. Please hold my hand. hahaha

Maybe "SKIP" should be a red X rather than a progression arrow. --->

Das grundsätzliche Spielprinzip von Commander Quest gefällt mir richtig gut. Das Spiel mischt Taktik, Kartendecks sowie zufallsgenerierte Ereignisse gekonnt zusammen. Jedoch handelt es sich hierbei auch um ein Roguelike-Deckbuilding Game. So folgt es dem Motto - "Command and Fail". Damit habe ich grundsätzlich kein Problem. Wenn nicht der Schwierigkeitsgrad arg gehoben und nicht einstellbar wäre. Der Progress zum Sammeln von Punkten für das Freischalten von Verbesserungen für künftige Runs ist dabei so elend langsam, dass es extrem viel Spielzeit veranschlagt. Dies mindert für mich persönlich den Spielspass.

The randomly generated maps and cards that you can receive allows for repeated plays or reruns as you cannot expect the same outcome for each time you play. Of course, there would be times when you are dealt with a losing choices. However, if you are smart and the rng is back on your side. You can think of ways to overcome and cover the weaknesses of your deck. The wacky lab is for sure a double edge sword but you can actually make a card so broken despite the drawbacks that you have to pick.

카드게임 찍먹해봤던 개발자가 게임을 애매하게 만들고서 얼리에서 끝난것 같은 게임임 업데이트도 더이상 안하는것같음
이런게임에서는 원하는 덱으로 커스텀하여 플레이하고 난이도를 높이는등 자신이 원하는 트리를 완성하는것이 중요한데
각 특성의 덱도 애매하게 부분으로만 써야하는 경우도많고 맛있지는 않고 완성덜되채로 끝난 안타까운 게임이라 해보는건 나쁘지도 좋지도 않음

이 정도면 충분히 재밌는 게임

할인할 때 사면 적당히 돈값 할 만큼은 즐길 수 있음

모든 마나를 전부 사용하고 턴 종료를 해야 하는 게 아니라

전투 도중에 상황에 맞게 카드를 써도 된다는 점이 매력적임

아트는 너무 단순해서 아쉽긴 한데 3d로 만들기 쉽게 하려고 이렇게 한 듯

밸런스 잡고 카드 추가 하고 종족 추가하고... 더 재밌게 발전할 수 있는 게임인데 그냥 손을 놓아버린 건 아쉬움

Ich würde es mir im Sale immer wieder holen, aber nur aus dem gleichen Grund, aus dem man sich jedes Jahr wieder vornimmt, Sport zu machen: Man weiß, dass es weh tun wird, aber irgendwas in einem sagt: „Ach komm, vielleicht wird’s diesmal besser.“

Das Kartensystem ist absolut fantastisch.
Die Karten sind kreativ, mächtig, clever. Ein strategisches Buffet, das mich jedes Mal glauben lässt, ich hätte die Kontrolle.
So brillant die Karten sind, so grauenhaft repetitiv ist der Rest des Spiels.
Die Abschnitte wiederholen sich.
Die Gegner wiederholen sich.
Die Ereignisse wiederholen sich.
Ich wiederhole mich.

Nach kurzer Zeit kann man zu 95 % vorhersagen, wer am nächsten Knotenpunkt wartet.
Nicht, weil man ein strategisches Genie ist, sondern weil das Spiel so vorhersehbar ist, dass man es eigentlich als Einschlafhilfe verkaufen könnte.

Diese Vorhersehbarkeit nimmt dem Spiel jede Spannung, wirklich jede.
Es ist, als würde man einen Überraschungsei‑Inhalt erraten und jedes Mal ist es wieder dieses eine Puzzle, das niemand mag.

Fazit:
Commander Quest ist ein Spiel, das ein überragendes Kartensystem besitzt, aber sich selbst mit Wiederholungen, Vorhersehbarkeit und strukturellem Déjà‑vu sabotiert.
Im Sale lohnt es sich, aber sei bereit, gleichzeitig zu lachen, zu fluchen und irgendwann einfach nur noch genervt zu seufzen.

seeing this at mixed really is some bs. this game is great. if you like Warpips and Slay The Spire then you will crack out to this. early on when this game came out i played it a bunch. i'd go away for weeks and come back to new commanders and factions. it's such a fun game. mix or clash royale with realtime turns and deckbuilding. addictive.

really fun game, and there are tons of synergy there but..
why I dont recommend is that, there are synergies but there arent enough cards to make those synergies useful.
for instance, u want to make a magic comp, but there is only one unit in the whole game who has ''magic'' tag on it.
same is true for structres.
great game but need a loooot of new cards.

There is a great game in here somewhere, but as other negative reviews have mentioned the balance is super off. You can absolutely steamroll your way through a map and then get obliterated by a boss not able to get a hit. The volcano spider is infuriating. After about 3hrs I'm about to be done.

Its a fun game, well polished. However as it usually happens in these kind of games, the RNG Gods will dictate if your run fails or not, with little for you to do if you get a couple unlucky draws, as the difficulty keeps ramping up after each battle and if your deck doesnt improves at the same pace at least, you are done. The meta progression is lacking, to say the least.

A fun little roguelike autobattler where you fight in lanes to take down the enemy commander. There's a decent variety of units and support cards that let you aim for different builds, for example you could focus on structures, machines, beasts, ghosts etc as part of your build. You also have different commanders with passive and active abilities to build around. I don't see myself pumping dozens of hours into this but given that I got it on sale for less than $10 it's a good time killer to come back to every now and then.

Really would rather this be a positive review.

I can see the vision, and like it a ton. Has the same vibe and progression as Slay the Spire, without being a direct copy.

Though at least for now, the game has no sense of proper balancing. You do not even get the chance to pivot based off of events, every single run just feels like either an impending early loss or a longer slog. You start at a strong disadvantage, and never really end up catching up to the enemy properly.
