Bone: The Great Cow Race is the direct continuation of Bone: Out from Boneville. I also want to state that I am not familiar at all with the source material.
The story takes off where the previous game ended, you reach Barrelhaven for the annual fair and cow race. Fone is trying to impress Thorn, which honestly was the weakest part of the game, while Phoney and Smiley are up to something more mischievous... at the same time the dangers from the previous game is still lurking in the shadows!
The gameplay is more of the same from the previous game, with simple point n click mechanics and the odd minigame here and there. One big change, which I did appreciate, was that you could change between the Bone cousins at any time given. There's no real parts you could fail, so thankfully you're given several tries if you were not to succeed.
If you enjoyed the first game, this is definitely recommended to play as it is longer, more well-developed and overall better (minus Fone's parts, I felt he didn't really fit in much as all he did was being mopey and sad over Thorn). As this game ends on a cliff hanger, it is very sad that TellTale never made more games in the series. From what I understand a total of 5 episodes were originally ordered but they never appeared. Eventually they also lost the license for the IP.
I suppose if you want to find out what happens to Fone Bone and his cousins you'll have to read the comics!

ok point and click adventure game, but doesn't make much sense and the story is kind of uninspired. Maybe if you've read the comic it's more fun but as a first introduction it couldn't hold my interest.
does support touch screens though, impressive given the age.
I'm still upset that they didn't continue the Bone series after this one. I really liked being able to switch between the Bones, and I was curious where the story was going... course the best way to do that is to read the original books, show Jeff Smith a lot of support.
The Great Cow Race continues the adventures where Out from Boneville ended: Fone, Phoney and Smiley Bone have been reunited in the Village and now need to figure out what is going on in the Valley and exactly why the Rat Creatures are after them. Like Out from Boneville, The Great Cow Race is a point and click adventure that allows us to follow any of the three main protagonists and actually requires them to cooperate for some of the puzzles. While the puzzles are definitely improved since the first game, the overall story is still both slow and not terribly captivating. Especially Fone and Phoney Bone are too naïve and too mischievous respectively, so that they are not very interesting to play as. Once again, the game is pretty short and besides some quick time events it is not too hard either. The end is a cliff-hanger, and one that Telltale Games has not dared to solve yet. A better game than the prequel, but not a milestone in the genre by a long stretch.
The second and last Telltale game in the Bone series. They have never made a 3rd one which means the game story never gets concluded and just ends a bit abruptly. Just like the first one this one hasn't aged all that well either, but at least it does not have really tedious puzzles anymore.
Except for a couple of bugs here and there I didn't mind my time with the game, but I can't recommend a game that still has an unfinished story after 16 years. And I can't imagine we will ever get a 3rd game.

I have a few things to say about this game and the previous game, Bone : Out from Boneville.
So first of all, it has been brought to my attention people have been giving this game POSITIVE REVIEWS, and I know that it was one of their first games and their team probably wasn't experienced, and I'm not expecting a miracle out of a new company, because I have a brain. But this game is so exceedingly bad, even for a company that just is starting out, and I'm gonna say why, especially since this game isn't available anymore.
First, there's the graphics. This game is garbage looking, and there's no doubt, I mean this game came out the same year as Resident Evil 4, which is amazing for its time, sure, but if you compare the graphics that was what was capable in 2005, in fact resident evil CAME FIRST, and I know its a cartoon style, but its just bad, and it hurts my eyes. The color palette is toilet, its just a lot of brown and red and white and grey, that's not even a joke, that's the best way I can describe it, it's really that bad. The animations are just as bad, the mouths move like the worst lipsync in the world, I honestly got a good laugh out of that. Overall though it's really just ugly, and is an aspect that makes this game awful.
The gameplay is just so bad. It's a story-based game right, so it's not supposed to be super duper fun, but most RPG story games have the minigames or QTE's or something, but oh boy bone is something else. The games have strange mechanic where you have to figure out some bull method of winning like a puzzle, but it's a minigame? I actually don't get it, like in the first game you had to figure out this hide and seek game that took about an hour for me to realize that saying warmer and colder moves them in the direction (spoiler alert lol). Another amazing thing, although I enjoy Fone crip walking everywhere, it's so damn slow, and it takes ages to go everywhere, and I'm not joking about the crip walk, buying the game just for that is reasonable.
Finally, I will talk about the best part of the game, the dialogue. Now it's a story-based RPG, so the dialogue should be pretty good, and it's fine for the most part since it's ripped from the book, but first the voice acting is wooden most of the time and is god awful in general. The thing about the dialogue is that some of it is written by the game writers or whatever, and you can tell which are ripped from the book because the lines written by the programmers or whatever is so bad, you can tell it apart easily. It's not completely bad, but wow is it far off from the normal game writing.
Now this is written with a ton of hyperbole, and I actually enjoyed playing this game with friends since it's so funny and we just laughed for hours about some of the dumb things in this game, but that doesn't change that I still did technically enjoy it. And like I said, this game came out when Telltale was still a fresh company, so you can't judge this too harshly or use this to define the company.
In conclusion, play these games, you will hate them and yourself, but you will laugh your ass off.
But actually don't get these, these are better lost to time.
No point in writing this review since the game isn't available on Steam anymore. This is pre-Walking-Dead Telltale, a very good and actually funny couple of episodes based on the Bone graphic novels. They are a little easy and the mini-games aren't great, but it's still a shame they never got the full treatment like Telltale's Sam and Max games.

The 1st game was slow, but this one is even slower with a lot of repetition, there were times where i had to go trough some dialogs for 3 or 4 times just to trigger a different response, felt even slower than the 1st game.
Still i liked the story, but in the middle of the game, it became so boring, i finished it because of the story and not the gameplay.

Bone: The Great Cow Race is a Telltale games classical point + click adventure along the same lines as Monkey Island, with a comedy/surrealist theme.
Despite being released in 2006, there's no widescreen support, let alone HD or UHD support. Graphics are very dated. Instead of modernising the game to keep it saleable, at least Telltale had the decency to remove it from the Steam store. Most devs prefer to leave unplayable games on Steam so they can sell things that don't even work. While Telltale wisely fell on their sword here, it's not enough to make me suggest anyone should buy this, even if they could.
10/10 would Bone again wish there were more games

Las mejores historias tienden a comenzar con una premisa simple, y eso es cierto para Bone. Tres primos son expulsados de su hogar, perdidos y solos en un mundo extraño y desconocido, y tratando de encontrar el camino de regreso.
Los cómics originales proporcionaron una increíble serie de historias, y Telltale una vez más ha hecho un gran trabajo al traernos a ese mundo. Si bien la historia se extiende y se reestructura ligeramente para el aspecto del rompecabezas, los desarrolladores han logrado mantener todo el encanto de los cómics. Bone: The Great Cow Race was the last of Telltale's Bone adaptations, and although there were seven more arcs to adapt and the game itself is fun, that is perhaps for the best. Perhaps due to the nature of point and click adventures, the plot meanders much more than the comic, and Thorn's voice acting is rather wooden, which would potentially grow into a major problem for later games.
Still, it's a fun adventure game on its own merits.

One of the things that was great about Simon The Sorcerer and Monkey Island was that they got you laughing, and the presentation was beautiful, with highly detailed environments, and some of the best pixel art around. This game lacks on both those fronts. I don't mind them being in 3-D or even necesarrily that it's low poly, it just looks bad. Un-inspired and un-inspiring.
puzzles are even more stupid than in 1st chapter, I rage quit after cow race minigame where you have to aim and use catapult to shot a target while stupid game shutters your aim to the point you won't be able to complete if even in 10 tries. Previous minigame for wiping floor was also stupid - while you try to wipe it clean a dude comes across the floor and leaves 2 sets of footprints! like he's a cow or something!
I bet they created these minigames to irritate player, I see no other reason

Oltre a lasciarti l'amaro di una vicenda che non si conclude conserva tutto l'umorismo e la varietà di situazioni del suo predecessore. Anzi in realtà sembra più completo questo episodio e non il primo. Di gran lunga più longevo, esplora meglio la parte di gameplay in cui bisogna cambiare personaggio controllato per poter risolvere gli enigmi. Inoltre la storia inizia a delinearsi meglio, peccato che non ci siano altri capitoli sulla piattaforma steam!

Semplice avventura grafica della telltale e anche prima avventura grafica di loro produzione.
Stiamo parlando dei primi passi di questa casa produttrice in questo genere, e pertanto non potevo aspettarmi molto.
La trama segue Il fumetto omonimo, però senza completare la storia, infatti i due capitoli di cui parlo, “Out from boneville” e “The great cow race” sono gli unici due usciti di questa saga rimasta incompiuta.
A parte la trama che presenta spunti interessanti, senza però potersi sviluppare, il gameplay è molto basilare, con enigmi nella media, ma monotoni. i dialoghi però sono divertenti. Il doppiaggio è di alto livello, ma non bastano queste doti a renderlo meno noioso di quanto sia. Muoversi lentamente in ambienti 3D e ascoltare una buona dose di dialoghi inconcludenti non è una grande forma di intrattenimento.
Sono presenti anche alcuni bug, e incongruenze temporali negli enigmi stessi.
Essendo una serie incompiuta, e anche particolarmente noiosa non vale la pena di provarla. è solo una perdita di tempo.

Pretty much more of the same of what I said about the first one. While there are some improvements, such as the new mechanic to change between the Bones at any time once they all meet up, most of the issues from the last one are still apparent. Story takes a backseat to gameplay, gameplay is either dully straightforward or obnoxiously confusing, bugs everywhere. You can tell they tried their best, but you can also tell this was one of their earliest titles with little experience and an engine that came out in 2005. I understand why it's so poor, but that doesn't make this unfinished Bone series any less disappointing.

Drugi epizod bardzo fajnej historii, która została przedwcześnie "zakończona" przez producenta :-). Przygoda przeznaczona głównie dla dzieci lecz dorosłym może również przynieść dużo frajdy, szczególnie gdy spędzi się przy niej czas właśnie z dzieckiem. Historia trójki głównych bohaterów rozwija się w nieco inny sposób. W większym stopniu kierujemy poczynaniami całej trójki, a wykonane przez nich działania mają swoje odzwierciedlenie w sposobie poznawania ich wspólnej przygody. W mechanice gry pojawia się wpływ wykonania poszczególnych akcji przez jedną z postaci na możliwość ukończenia zadania przez inną. Zagadki są rozszerzone w czasie i miejscu. Jest to również warunek konieczny do ukończenia epizodu i daje swoistą namiastkę nieliniowości przedstawionej fabuły. Może to przysporzyć problemów dziecku, które dotychczas nie miało do czynienia z tego typu łamigłówkami.
Odcinek kończy się w rozsądnym czasie i... chciałoby się od razu rozpocząć kolejny lecz nie ma takiej możliwości. Historia urywa się znowu w bardzo ciekawym momencie. Moze być to frustrujące dla dziecka, które nie pogodzi się z faktem, że to już niestety koniec. Alternatywą dla gry jest świetnie zremasterowany komiks, który pozwala na dokończenie opowieści w nieco innej formie.

Also , it ends in a cliffhanger so i guess if you want to go find out the rest of the story , you should keep reading the comics. Moim najpoważniejszym zarzutem względem tej produkcji jest to, iż nie poznamy zakończenia historii, Telltale porzuciło tę serię właśnie po tym odcinku, moim zdaniem nie powinni więc oferować odpłatnie niedokończonego produktu. Graficznie gra się bardzo postarzała, jest problem zwłaszcza ze szczegółowością teł, mimika postaciniemal nie istnieje, mimo wszystko jest ZNACZNIE lepiej niż w odcinku pierwszym. Twórcy zrezygnowali również ze słabo zaimplementowanych elementów zręcznościowych obecnych w odcinku pierwszym, co niewątpliwie jest plusem. Cała akcja gra została zawarta na kilkunastu ekranach (sic!), niemniej przyjdzie nam pokierować losami aż trzech bohaterów. Zagadki są bardzo proste, raczej logiczne. Czasami zdarzają się zabawne momenty, niemniej scenariusz nie powala. Dubbing jest dobry. Podczas napisów końcowych w tle leci zabawna scenka, bardzo dobre rozwiązanie. Na rynku dostępne są całe masy pięknie narysowanych gier point & click, z ciekawą fabułą, dłuższym gameplayem, ciekawszymi uniwersami, w porównaniu do nich Bone wygląda jak brzydkie kaczątko. Ponadto w grze nie ma języka polskiego. Nie polecam.
I'm going through my entire library and putting a minimum of an hour into each game and then reviewing them, here is mine for Bone: The Great Cow Race
The direct sequel to Bone: Out from Boneville so if you are thinking about playing this one you should probably play that one first to understand what is going on. But boiled down this is an adventure game in the style of classic adventure games.
In order to see my full review you have to buy soup from the coat seller, use the soup to make the monkey sick so that the monkey handler goes on vacation and lets you through to the museum where you will find my curator page. But don't forget the glass tube shaped like a Z or the giant squid will never let you past the dinosaur exhibit.
A fun adaption of the second Bone graphic novel, would suggest if you wanna try a telltale classic from back in the day.
Nostalgic for an hour or two, and that's about all that's going for it. Read the comics to avoid the terrible voice acting and menial tasks. Play a different Telltale for a well-presented game/story hybrid.
Hier war wohl mal ein dritter Teil vorgesehen... wie Half-Life 2 Episode 3 hat es den allerdings nie gegeben.
Beide Teile sind sehr kindgerecht und simpel, eine simple Geschichte mit einfachen schnell zu lösenden Rätseln. Als Geschenk für Kinder, ok, ansonsten keine Vollpreiskaufempfehlung!

It's "OK", it works, but I felt rather annoyed then engaged.
Unlike the first game, this one doesn’t feel quite as linear. You can swap from character to character, progressing each ones objective along in any order you wish, to a point. There is of course key moments that progress the story, so one of the Bone characters might be stuck until you've reached that point with another character but anyway, it does help make the game feel abit more open and not just a linear path of progression.
That being said, I wasn't exactly enthralled by the story and very quickly resulted in looking up walkthrough to find the quickest way to finish the game.
Whether that is being subconsciously I am aware that this second game leaves the story unfinished, so I was unwilling to invest too much time into an unfinished plot.
And it really is for that one main reason that I can't recommend this game, its an unfinished story, this is part two and though I'm not sure where exactly they where going with this, it needs aleast a part 3 and given how slowly the story was progressing, I'm guessing they did originally have planned aleast another two parts but that is just my guess work.
Ultimately the game isn’t anything special and even if this was a complete story not sure I would be recommending it.
Bone characters do seem interesting but an unfinished story is an unfinished story, enough said.

Die Geschichte besteht im wesentlichen nur aus einem Kuhrennen anlässlich eines Jahrmarktes in Barrel Haven und wie die drei Cousins, Fone, Phoney und Smiley, dabei mit leicht unterschiedlichen Zielsetzungen mitmischen wollen. Wirklich toll fand ich es nun nicht, dazu sind alle viel zu unterbelichtet. Allein schon, dass eine Großmutter und ein als Kuh Verkleiderter bei einem Kuhrennen (als Kuh?) mitrennt ist doch Quatsch.

Seltsam erscheint dabei der episodenhafte Blick auf einen mysteriösen Fremden und den ihm helfenden Riesenratten. Der Schluss des Spieles deutet an, dass da in einer weiteren Episode mehr Klarheit hereingebracht werden solle, was aber nie passiert ist.
Das Gameplay hat sich deutlich verbessert. Es ist weniger kindlich-seicht. Um die Aufgaben zu lösen, müssen sie teilweise zusammenarbeiten. Man kann zwischen ihnen wechseln, steuert aber immer nur einen von ihnen. Die Rätsel sind deutlich anspruchsvoller, ao dass man auch schon mal ins grübeln kommt, wie es denn weitergehen könnte. Oft kommt es darauf an, die Dialoge in die richtige Richtung zu steuern, oft muss man ziemlich ungewöhnliche Dinge ausprobieren.

Die Grafik, Sound und Steuerung ist praktisch gleich zu Teil 1.
Die Spielzeit ist mit wohl etwa 3h (ich kannte die meisten Rätsel noch von früher, also kann es auch länger dauern) merklich länger.
Ich hatte keine technischen Schwierigkeiten, das Spiel unter Windows 10 zu spielen. Ich habe aber zumindest einmal erlebt, dass man das Spiel in eine Sackgasse lenken kann, wenn man ein Objekt (den Helm) an der falschen Stelle einsetzen will.

Das Spiel ist deutlich besser als Teil 1 der Bone-Miniserie, aber halt immer noch seltsam. Die teils etwas kniffligen Rätsel können davon ablenken.
Drugi epizod przygód braci Bone (Gnatów) jest znacznie lepszy od pierwszego. Pół roku różnicy względem Out frm Boneville dobrze zrobiło grafice. Co prawda wciąż jest dosyć prosta, jak poprzedni odcinek, ale widać więcej pracy włożonej w otoczenie przede wszystkim. Postacie i ich animacje wciąż stoją na bardzo wysokim poziomie.
Fabularnie, to tu zaczyna się akcja. Fone i Phoney, po serii prac wokół domu babki Ben wyruszają do miasteczka na doroczny festyn. Tam bracia spotykają Smileya, nie grzeszącego intelektem, ale za to całkiem wysokiego (jak to mówią, "sysoki jak brzoza, głupi jak koza"?) "średniego" brata Gnata. W trakcie festynu rozgrywa się również doroczny, tytułowy, Wielki Wyścig Krów, w którym bierze udział również babcia Ben. Nazwać ją krową, byłoby obraźliwe, ale starsza pani lubi dbać o formę, a że zawsze wygrywa to wyścigi są dla niej niezłą zabawą. Mieszkańcy wioski dobrze o tym wiedzą i chętnie stawiają swoje oszczędności na wygraną zwinnej babeczki. Tu wkracza nasz gburowaty Gnacik. Phoney widzi w tym okazję zarobku, postanawia namówić głupkowatego Smileya by ten przebrał się za krowę i wziął udział w wyścigu, oczywiście dając Babce wygrać, a sam postanawia nastawić mieszkańców wioski przeciw babce Ben, żeby postawili na Smileya w przebraniu krowy. Ten niepotrzebnie skomplikowany plan oczywiście odwraca się przeciwko nierozgarniętym kościstym bohaterom, ale cóż. W tle mamy jeszcze miłosne zmagania Fony'ego, który zabiega o względy Thorn.
Tym razem, gracz ma możliwość swobodnego przełączania się między bohaterami, a zagadki stały się bardziej złożone, wreszcie czuć, że to point & click z krwi i... ehm, kości, a nie jakaś gierka dla dzieci. Sporo jest też aktywności opcjonalnych (jak granie w specyficzny rodzaj "rzutek" by zdobyć maskotkę dla Thorn). Ah, i wciąż kocham Smileya. <3
Totalmente innecesaria la división del juego en dos partes (para los tiempos que corren supongo). Esta es la segunda y última parte. La historia es curiosa, los personajes también. Se deja jugar. Un point & click clásico con sus toques de humor.

just like part 1, Bone: The Great Cow Race doesnt do anything to improve on the first part, so unless your're a fan of this series save your money.

Like the game before it, this game is neither good or bad. It's about an hour long and simply OK. The puzzles are decent, the humour is ok and the characters are relatively well written.
I won't spoil anything since it's so short, just know that it is essential to play the first game if you care at all about the story (which you should, it's the only real selling point of the game). Give it a buy if it's on sale or in a bundle.

Es más largo que su predecesor pero conserva sus mismos inconvenientes, sumándole el hecho de que la trama termina con un final abierto debido a que Telltale no continuó la serie.
Point and click agréable réservé aux enfants. Quelques situations plutôt drôles, qui viendront égayer les 2-3 heures de jeux aux énigmes flemmardes (je pense aux moults parties de cache-cache). Tout de même amusant de voir les fondations de Telltale.

Telltale Games firmasının çıkardığı ilk serilerinden biri olan Bone kaldığı yerden devam ediyor. 2. bölüm olan Bone: The Cow Race ilk çıkan seri olduğundan oldukça amatör olmuş. Ancak ne kadar eksiği olsada eleştirmeden edemiycem. Çünkü 1. bölüm bundan daha iyiydi. Sanki bu bölüm biraz özentisiz olmuş. Gerek seneryoyu devam ettirememelerinden gerekse teknik sorunlar yüzünden. İlk oyunda dialogları oyunu durdurarak okuyabiliyoken bu oyunda dialogları durdurarak okumanın hiç bir yolu yöntemi yok. Bu sebepten dialogları okurken anlamadığım kelimeler kaçıp gitti. En başta oyunun tadını kaçıran bu olmuştu. Ardından gelen buglar ise dahada can sıkıcı bir hale geldi. Bazen etkileşime girdiğiniz yerde karakter donup kalıyor. Bu yüzden bölümü tekrar başlatıyosunuz. 1. oyunda bunların hiç biri yokken neden 2. oyun bu kadar sıkıntılı olmuş bilmiyorum. Muhtemelen acele ile çıkardılar oyunu o dönem veya pek özen gösterilmedi.
Oyunun seneryosu ise oldukça basit ve sıkıcı geldi. Konu iyi başlamışken seneryonun son kısmında "e bu muydu yani şimdi" dedirtti. Serinin bu bölümü oldukça vasattı. Bence çok daha iyi olabilirdi.

I got this game when I bought a Telltale Games bundle for just $1; it seems it's one of their first ones. Maybe some young kids could find joy in this one, but not me.

Bone: The Great Cow Race. I recommend this to any fans of the Bone series, not much here for anyone else.
To be honest, I'm impressed with this. It's a very ambitious project for the small team they used to be. And it seems to me that they poured more attention in here, than in the 1st season of Sam & Max. It's funny to see how they will re-use some models from this in the later titles.
Characters are charming, dialogues are long and branchy, puzzles, comparing to the 1st episode, took a step up.
I can't even say that visuals are bad: cartoony style holds up ok and animations are above average.
I liked the experience.
So why's the negative review? They ditched the game and ended series after this, so you can't finish the story. Grab it only for curiosity's sake and only if you spend your dough nonchalantly.
Just as good as the previous one and I don't have much to add to the previous review I made about it. Very much recommended for those Bone-fans who are curious to see what it is like, and for those who have not read the original comic books, it's a good introduction. It's very faithfull to the source material and it helped me to remember why I love it so dearly.
Most of the negative reviews made about this game feel far off. I have played my share of adventure games and felt that the gameplay was totally fine.
It's a real shame that Telltale couldn't complete this story. Lucky for us we have the comic books, otherwise this would have made me very disappointed.
Bone: The Great Cow Race ist ein 3D-Adventure zu den Comics von Jeff Smith (wie ich mittlerweile herausgefunden habe). Und Teil 2 der Spielreihe. Ausserdem weiß ich mittlerweile das das Spiel von 2006 ist und ich mir daher die mittlerweile deutlich angestaubte Grafikengine erklären kann, was Optik und Auflösung angeht. Davon abgesehen ist das ein Adventure das sich nur in Grundzügen wie ein Point'n Click Adventure spielt, das Game setzt seinen Schwerpunkt mehr auf die Problemlösung durch Kommunikation und nicht durch ständiges Auffinden, Kombinieren und Anwenden von Gegenständen. Dazu wurden zahlreiche kleine "Minispiele" integriert. Man wollte hier vermutlich die Genre des Adventure mit Elementen des Jump'n Run ergänzen. Im Endeffekt wirkt das Spiel dadurch und der Story auf Comicbasis wie ein Spiel das eher für Kinder gedacht ist. Für Fans der Comics sicherlich interessant, mich hat das Spiel leider nicht in den Bann ziehen können. Die Spielreihe wurde nach Teil 2 eingestellt.

Я являюсь большим поклонником творчества Джеффа Смита, впервые Боун как комикс попал мне в руки 8-9 лет назад, когда в школе кто-то принес скан нескольких глав, из коллектива он зацепил, кстати, только меня, и не отпускал редкордно продолжительное время. Любовь к этой графической новелле останется в моем сердце навсегда, я действительно люблю добрый юмор автора и его уникальных персонажей.
Первый диск с игрой (который практически в точности повторяет сюжет первой книги) достался мне подарком от далекого родственника, а второй с The Great Cow Race (Большие коровьи бега) был спустя некоторое время куплен уже мной
и знаете что,
игры векликолепны.
Мне было действительно приятно увидеть хоть и простенькую, но в точности копирующую стиль рисования Д.Смита графику игры, а от великолепной и так хорошо подходящей атмосфере фоновой музыки у меня буквально потекло по ногам, музыку из таверны я до сих пор отлично помню, безумно ее люблю. А вы слышали голос Фоуни? или Смайли? Боже, как же они подходят к персонажам.
Люди говорят что игра короткая, возможно, но, может, потому что это сюжет второй книги? На данный момент их 8 кстати. А Out from Boneville повествует о событиях первой. Все вроде понятно, и жаловаться на это как-то странно, зная суть всего. Безумно расстроило что Telltale Games больше не занимается разработкой Боуна, народ его просто не понял, потому он и свернулся, очень жаль.

If you liked the first one, may as well play this one. More solid puzzles and treats for fans of the comic. Only negative is the abrupt ending. Wish they woul've made more of these.

There's a reason why they didn't adapt the whole comic, and if you look on their website the series isn't even shown.
Se avete giocato il primo episodio dovete giocare anche questo secondo. Le caratteristiche sono identiche tranne che per le scene action del primo che qui sono state, per fortuna, eliminate. Pregi e difetti restano gli stessi tanto quanto l'importanza storica del gioco. Peccato che la storia non la vedremo mai conclusa per ragioni che non conosco.
Bone: The Great Cow Race is the sequal to Bone: From Out of Boneville game by Telltale Games. Based on the second volume of the said title, the game picks up where the last one left off. The Bone cousins are adjusting to their current lives in the valley they all ended up in after being chased down by the swarm of locusts. They have resided at the cottage that's occupied by a kind elderly woman named Grandma Ben & her gorgous granddaughter Thorn. A spring fair was being held in the valley where the villagers and travellers from abroad gather together for import goods, carnival stands, and the yearly "Great Cow Race". Fone Bone who has a secret crush on Thorn will use the spring fair as an oppurtunity to express his love to Thorn. This attempt came to a halt when Thorn develops a relationship with a traveling beekeeper. Will Fone Bone be able to show Thorn how much she means to him is yet to be seen. Meanwhile Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone who are trying to pay their debt at the local pub run by the no-nonsense Lucius are crafting a scheme to get both of them out of debt. Phoney views the cow race as the oppurtunity to strike it rich and become the new owner of Lucius's pub in two swoops. Because Grandma Ben who is the only human contestant who par takes in the all bovine race is the popular choice to bet on. Phoney spreads rumors about Grandma Ben's health and claims to have a cow who is the fastest piece of beef in the whole valley. He goes all the way by making Grandma Ben appear to be ill and getting Smiley Bone to pose as a cow. Is this scam going to help Phoney's ambitions, or will it be as much of a failure as his Boneville election? This game is much more lengthy than the previous game as you play as all three Bone cousins each having a different story path that leads to one finale. There is the option to switch between the Bones in case you want to focus on a different cousin or if you feel stuck. The extra fair contenders weren't from the original comic volume, but they do feel like they originated from the Bone comics and helped made the game slightly longer than the predessor did. Keep in mind that this game wasn't intended as the last Bone game as it was open for a third game that was going to be based on the third volume "Eye of the Storm". The game in question never went into development and Telltale never went on record for the reason. Either due to low sales on the game or a falling out with Bone's creator Jeff Smith. But 10 years since this game's release, Telltale never went back to the Bone series for more games. A real shame too cause the good stuff in the comic series happens in volume 3, as it further develops the relationship between Fone Bone & Thorn, many secrets are revealed including the identity of the mysterious Hooded One of the Locusts. I can totally see all of the Bone comic volumes as episodic adventure games. But with the unlikelihood of more Bone games all we have is the anticipated animated film trilogy that's been in development for years. If it does officially get off the ground, I can see it being on par with the two Bone games which is all we have for now as a Bone related media. So if you have finished this game and are craving to know the rest of the story, read the comic series. It is a creative and wonderful comic series that will delight generations of readers to come. It will be the comic series I will read to my future kids some day as well.
As the game series is discontinued I recommend this as a set and only on a discount. The games combined are adorable in my opinion but warning the fun is short lived and they are definitely designed for younger audeinces in mind. Still I found the voice acting, characters and tale entertaining and Im quite sad there will not be more of these. It was still fun while it lasted and it will keep my daughter amused at least for a little while.
