WOMB RIPPER STRIKES AGAIN!!! BLOODWASH is a giallo-inspired laundry horror game with low-poly, PS1-style graphics. Sara is a pregnant college student living with her alcoholic boyfriend in a run-down apartment complex. To make matters worse, a serial killer targeting pregnant women, the Womb Ripper, is terrorizing the city. One night, the washing machine in the basement breaks down. A helpful neighbor tells Sara about a 24-hour laundromat on the outskirts of town. What she finds there might claim her life!

Jogo muito bacana! É bem curto, portanto, recomendo a aquisição apenas em época de promoção, quando o jogo passa a valer apenas 1 dígito. O game é leve e tem estética de slasher grindhouse em VHS, estilo Toolbox Murders, etc... O gameplay envolve caminhadas, algumas trocações de ideia, interpretação de cenários e tensão em relação ao assassino, que é um serial killer de grávidas. O jogo dá uns consideráveis sustos, uma trama simples e realmente macabra e um plot twist bem construído no canal. E ah, depois dos créditos tem mais um mini gameplay que serve como cena pós-créditos bem legal.
O game contém uns easter eggs geniais! Tipo, conforme esperamos as roupas ficarem prontas na lavanderia, podemos explorar os cenários e achar revistinhas, e essas revistinhas são realmente histórias em quadrinho reais que o desenvolvedor colocou pra gente apreciar e passar o tempo. Achei isso sensacional! Tem uns minigames também.

this game only took me 85 minutes to complete so it is a pretty short game. But its very scary in my opinion (or maybe i'm just jumpy honestly idk lol) and its a classic puppet combo game. shout out to stan for being the goat, as per usual. the plot twist wasn't really a shocker but maybe thats just because i've watched playthroughs of this game before i actually even played it. sorry this review isnt that good im honestly just rambling at this point but i think all puppet combo games are peak so :P

As many would have, I was introduce to this game through CoryxKensin's playthrough via YouTube. I was very much—at the very least—entranced by the low-poly and early PlayStation look to the game. Through playing it has become apparent that this game IS NOT FOR EVERYONE, including themes of murder, crime, death involving fetuses, etc. Overall this game is a very well-integrated masterpiece from Puppet Combo.

Fun, short game. Places itself very firmly into the realm of B-movie horror, with the tropes and dialogue to match. I personally turned off the CRT and VHS effect after a couple minutes, but that was partially for the Steam deck screen crunching the effects further and making it hard to see.

寮の洗濯機が故障してしまったため、彼女は仕方なく街外れにある24時間営業の寂れたコインランドリーへ向かうバスに乗る。だが、その街では妊婦ばかりを狙い、胎児を奪い去る連続殺人鬼「ウーム・リッパー（子宮裂き魔）」の噂が囁かれていた。洗濯が終わるまでの待ち時間、彼女の周囲で不穏な影が動き出す。

80年代のB級ホラー映画や、イタリアのジャーロ映画（猟奇サスペンス）への愛が詰まった、PS1風ローポリ風ホラー。

プレイヤーはサラを操作し、洗濯物を洗濯機に入れ、乾燥機に移し、畳むという「家事」をこなさなければならない。ただ洗濯が終わるのを待つ間、怪しげな隣接店舗を探索したり、置いてある漫画を読んだり、不気味な客と会話したりして時間を潰す。この「退屈な待ち時間」こそが、無防備な日常に忍び寄る恐怖を増幅させる装置となっている。

本作の素晴らしさは、徹底された「薄汚さ（Grime）」の表現にある。シミだらけの床、点滅する蛍光灯、深夜のコンビニの無気力な店員。それらが荒いポリゴンとVHSフィルターによって描写されることで、「深夜の公衆の場に一人きり」という根源的な不安を見事に煽ってくる。

ゲームプレイ自体は「洗濯が終わるのを待つ」というシミュレーター的なものだが、待ち時間に読めるゲーム内コミックや、少しずつ明らかになる住人たちの異常性がプレイヤーを飽きさせない。日常的なタスク（洗濯）の最中に、非日常的な暴力が突然介入してくる恐怖。ホラー映画の登場人物になりきりたいなら、これ以上の適役はないだろう。

Ein ganz nettes Puppet Combo Horrorgame. Die Horrorelemente waren leider eher mittelmäßig und ziemlich standard. Ein großer Teil des Spiels besteht daraus, ein paar Minuten auf die Waschmaschine zu warten, während man in der Zeit andere Dinge erkundet, was für mich nicht ganz so gut umgesetzt war, wie ich es mir am Anfang erhofft hatte.

Positiv fand ich aber den typischen Puppet Combo Artstyle, der mir wie immer gut gefallen hat. Auch die Atmosphäre war an manchen Stellen echt nice und konnte kurzzeitig Spannung aufbauen. Leider fand ich das Spiel ziemlich Mittelmäßig, aber meinen Spaß hatte ich schon dabei.

Сара старалась не думать об этом, но каждый раз, когда она видела тревожные заголовки газет или слышала отголоски новостей по телевизору, ее сердце сжималось от страха.

Он дал ей адрес, написав его на клочке бумаги. Сара поблагодарила его, чувствуя прилив благодарности. Эта прачечная казалась спасением.

Пока стиральная машина набирала воду, Сара решила пройтись по прачечной, чтобы немного размяться. Она подошла к окну, выходящему на темную улицу. Внезапно, в отражении стекла, она увидела силуэт, стоящий прямо за ней. Это был мужчина, высокий, в темной одежде, с капюшоном, скрывающим лицо. Паника охватила ее. Она бросилась к двери, но та оказалась заперта. Пожилая женщина в углу подняла голову от книги, ее глаза расширились от ужаса. Она тоже увидела его.

"Кто вы?" – прошептала Сара, ее голос дрожал.

Мужчина не ответил. Он медленно поднял руку, и Сара увидела в ней что-то блестящее. Нож.

В этот момент Сара поняла, что это не просто случайный грабитель. Это был "Жнец". И она, беременная, оказалась в ловушке.

Она отступила назад, ища глазами хоть какое-то укрытие. Машины казались хрупкими преградами, а полки с моющими средствами – бесполезными. Ее взгляд упал на дверь в подсобное помещение, приоткрытую. Это был ее единственный шанс.

Собрав последние силы, Сара рванулась к двери. Мужчина бросился за ней. Она успела юркнуть внутрь, захлопнув за собой дверь. Внутри было темно и пахло плесенью. Она прислонилась к двери, пытаясь отдышаться, слушая, как снаружи раздаются шаги.

"Ты не уйдешь," – прошептал мужской голос прямо за дверью.

Сара замерла. Она была в западне. Ее беременность, которая должна была быть источником радости, теперь делала ее уязвимой мишенью. Она чувствовала, как ее тело дрожит, но в то же время в ней пробуждалась первобытная ярость. Она не собиралась сдаваться.

Она начала осматриваться в темноте. Ее пальцы нащупали что-то твердое и холодное. Бутылка с отбеливателем. Не идеальное оружие, но лучше, чем ничего.

Снаружи послышался скрежет – мужчина пытался открыть дверь. Сара крепче сжала бутылку. Она знала, что у нее есть только один шанс. Когда дверь распахнется, она должна быть готова.

Внезапно, из глубины подсобки, послышался слабый звук. Сара прислушалась. Это был звук, похожий на детский плач. Ее сердце замерло. Неужели она не одна здесь?

Дверь поддалась с громким скрипом. В проеме показался силуэт убийцы. Сара, не раздумывая, бросилась вперед, размахнувшись бутылкой. Она ударила его по руке, заставив выронить нож. Он взревел от боли и ярости.

В этот момент из темноты подсобки выскочила маленькая девочка, лет пяти, с испуганными глазами. Она была одета в старое, грязное платье. Увидев ее, убийца на мгновение застыл.

"Моя дочь!" – прокричал он, забыв о Саре.

Это была ее возможность. Сара схватила девочку за руку и бросилась к выходу. Пожилая женщина, увидев, что происходит, уже открыла главную дверь. Сара выбежала на улицу, таща за собой ребенка.

Она бежала, не оглядываясь, пока не увидела огни полицейской машины. Она кричала, звала на помощь. Полицейские, услышав ее крики, бросились к ней.

Когда Сара, наконец, оказалась в безопасности, она поняла, что пережила. Ночная смена в прачечной чуть не стала ее последней. И хотя она выжила, тень "Жнеца" навсегда осталась в ее памяти, напоминая о том, как хрупка жизнь и как близко может подкрасться смерть, даже в самом обычном месте.

Хотелось выдать дежурную отповедь про ностальгию по эпохе PS1 и фильмам ужасов восьмидесятых, однако, думаю, что феномен популярности подобных игр не зиждется лишь на чувствах престарелых ностальгирующих геймеров. Сама идея воплощения рутинных жизненных ситуаций в игре кажется довольно удачной и вовлекающей в кошмарный мир Bloodwash. Мы играем за девушку, живущую в не самом благополучном районе города, в каком-то обветшалом многоквартирном жилом комплексе, и первое, что от нас требуется это собрать по комнатам грязную одежду и отнести их в стирку, так как завтра важное собеседование на работу, а чистой одежды нет. Приземлённость сеттинга и решение тривиальных рутинных проблем делают историю правдоподобной и погружают в происходящее. При этом на контрасте с подобными обыденными ситуациями весьма интересно выглядит графика и в целом визуальный стиль. Картинка в игре не просто передаёт привет старым играм и флексит VHS помехами, она создаёт тот самый пресловутый эффект зловещей долины. Текстуры всего и модельки людей настолько крипово-безжизненные насколько это вообще возможно. Вся игра-это одно, длящееся пару часов, мгновение ложной тревоги от внезапного столкновения с манекеном в тёмной комнате. Если большинство дорогих хорроров притворяются реальностью, то хорроры от torture star и puppet combo делают вид, что притворяются реальностью и от того они такие неуютные и пугающие. Кроме решения тривиальных проблем и общения с персонажами в Bloodwash присутствует неплохая детективная история, парочка мини-игр и шутерный сегмент ближе к финалу. Подобное разнообразие активностей упаковано примерно в два часа игрового времени, сдобрено весьма атмосферным саундтреком, отсылками к фильмам ужасов прошлого и конечно же редкими скримерами, без которых не обходились многие классические ужастики.
Я играю в игры уже более двадцати лет и был приятно удивлён, обнаружив закравшееся в душу давно забытое, но такое знакомое чувство тревоги, подаренное мне не АААА-хоррором за 100500 млн. вечно зелёных, но маленькой и такой талантливо сделанной игрой. Рекомендую всем поклонникам жанра без аллергии на низкополигональную мазню.

Bloodwash is a brilliant ‘Giallo-style’ mystery game; which is to say that it combines a gory murder mystery and 1960s–70s style—through bright colours, retro design and nostalgic technology. The low-poly graphics and visual glitches inhibit the player's view, making it a tense climate throughout. The world feels highly immersive and the places the player inhabits feel almost real but not quite. These liminal spaces are able to generate fear in us due to a negative association with preconceived ‘safe’ spaces of nostalgia. This is very effective in the final chapter of the game. The uncanny locations combined with a mystery serial killer makes for a very enticing and fresh narrative which I enjoyed immensely.

I was expecting pure camp but this was a genuinely solid way to spend a couple hours. Not scary, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in all the right ways. I always like to play a short, goofy, B-Movie horror game the night before Halloween and this fit the bill perfectly. Takes the same amount of time as a horror movie would, and brings the same level of enjoyment.

Bus driver's voice actor needs a raise. His delivery was peak.

Наверное, первый хоррор, за который я отдал 2 бакса и был рад этому. Скримеры довольно предсказуемые, но атмосферу это совсем не портит. Простенький, но довольно любопытный сюжет в стиле Джалло. В других хоррорах, особенно в данной ценовой категории, вы его вовсе не найдёте. Музыка так же выдерживает жанр. Две ноты синта задают свой настрой. Из минусов только один момент: во время стирки вам нужно выждать реальных минут 20, и чем занять себя в это время, на самом деле, есть. Так что советую во время стирки исследовать прачечную, а во время сушки идти изучать всё остальное.

Nice little indie horror game with a grindhouse feel. Short but sweet with goofy characters and some slight explorations and side objectives. If you love other games from Black Eyed Priest/Torture Star Video you'll like this!

Wanted to replay this after finishing Skinfreak, and I didn't have the Steam version so went for it. Still a really well paced indie horror experience. I love how the killer is introduced through newspaper articles and comments by other characters rather than being thrown in your face. The villain is used sparingly, but effectrively, and I enjoyed the reveal at the end. This game doesn't overstay its welcome. Also the call girl conversation is everything.

Bloodwash é um jogo de terror retrô desenvolvido pela Black Eyes Priest e publicado pela Puppet Combo, e assim como os outros jogos de sua publisher segue a temática de um jogo slasher com gráficos similares ao da era do PS1 - a página do jogo indica que ele foi mais inspirado em Giallos italianos, mas eu sinceramente não senti tanto essa similaridade, para mim ele pareceu muito mais com filmes trash americanos dos anos 70 e 80.

Eu acho que vale destacar que ele não é um survival horror necessariamente, é muito mais um jogo de aventura e narrativa com alguns momentos isolados de terror, focando muito mais em jumpscares do que em cenas de perseguição, e não posui vários dos elementos que se espera de um survival horror como puzzles de inventário. Além disso, ele é uma experiência bem curta, eu tenho tanto tempo de jogo pois fiz 100%, o que envolve ler várias ediçoes completas de histórias em quadrinhos, mas tirando essas distrações acredito que ele possa ser completado em uma hora ou menos.

Se você procura um jogo curto de terror mais focado em narrativa e menos na gameplay, Bloodwash é uma boa escolha. Por mais que eu não tenha me surpreendido com ele, os próximos jogos desse desenvolvedor parecem ter temáticas bem mais interessantes para mim, então estou muito curioso para dar uma chance para eles.

This game was spooky as heck and I have truly enjoyed it! The story and characters are A+ , although I kinda wish there was more dialogue options , especially for the characters Peepaw, and that Old Woman, I wanted to see her reaction to the missing poster and the news article you can find. Blood wash starts out slow, but that's what all good horror movies do , usually! Keeps you on your toes! My biggest problem, if you want to call it that, is that there are too many distractions, from the main game. You have the T.V. , the Game Boy, the Arcade Machine, plus, those comic books !! I know they are all optional, but for a girl who loves to take her time and look through everything in a game, it got kinda overwhelming, simply because there is too much to do! I would have liked it a bit better if the entertainment options had been scaled down a bit. Oh, and I really wish the game had save states, so you wouldn't have to start from beginning of every chapter every time you quit. Awesome Game, other wise!!

Bloodwash was… fine. It wasn't anything super remarkable, and the few jumpscares really only got me because of the loud music that went along with them, not because the environment was tense and the buildup was good. The first 3 levels are better than the last 3 levels, but for just a few dollars I don't not recommend the game. Just know it's beatable in a couple hours, the 100% is easy to get, and jumpscares are really all it has to offer for horror. The story is horrifying, but not in a way that makes me feel the horror of the game any stronger. The voice acting is also pretty bad.

Dobrá krátká hororovka cca na hodinku, starý dobrý PlayStation 1 styl.
Já se bál, ale jsem to já no...

Gameplay asi dobrý, příběh jde.

[spoiler] Trošku mě štvalo to, když si jdeš vyprat, že musíš čekat 20 minut REÁLNÝHO ČASU než se to vypere + 2 minuty sušení prádla :D Takže už víme, proč to má hodinu průměrného playtimu.[/spoiler]

So, i played this game originally back on the PlayStation back in late '22 honestly i liked the story and voice acting. The aesthetic in the game is up my alley, and honestly i love Puppet Combo and Torture Video Star and the games they make. 8.12/10 would recommend.

The atmosphere is everything in this game. I LOVE horror games that feel like this. Similar to Chillas Arts or Fears to Fathom games. It's short, It's linear, it doesn't do anything super crazy as far as scares or creatures go, but it's very atmospheric and I love the world they have here. It's like going through a haunted house. I finished it in a little over 2 hours, but it's well worth a play through if you like these types of horror games.

开始是被封面和预告片给抓进来的，没办法，完全拒绝不了这类风格。当时顺便也把TSV的另一部Night at the Gates of Hell一起给买了，写这篇评测的时候正在玩，之后有机会再评。

一部注重叙事，以体验氛围为主的甜品级游戏，流程短、节奏快、故事简单，有点意思，但并不多。游戏里有趣的小细节塞得不少，台词写得更是意料之外的不错，没有几句废话。至于对音效、跳脸等惊吓元素的滥用这个我认为见仁见智，毕竟本身它所致敬的也正是八十年代B级惊悚片的经典风格，越劣质反而味儿越正，这和所谓高级恐怖是完全不沾边的。

总而言之，这游戏只推荐给非常喜欢Giallo Film且能接受一定JumpScare的玩家。

Despite it being such a short game, it has a lot of charm and character placing it above a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but below a hyper-polished horror ensemble. The one thing that I love about these games (Night At The Gates of Hell the other one) is that there is an obvious thematic universe that is made up effectively by a small group of friends and their local community. There is a short comic series you can read as an unlockable that's surprisingly well done, the real phone numbers lead to what I can only believe to be places of unique importance within the dev's life, and there are characters (and voice actors) that show up time and time again across varying entries. This game is a late 90's dipped nostalgia piece brought up to date with memes and goofy horror, with a deep almost recursive awareness of its own ideas and projects. You know what, I HAVE seen that car before...

While grotesque, it's also odd enough with its story that it's not obnoxious or downright predictable. This is the kind of game for people who love grindhouse, splatterpunk, over the top visceral body horror with just the right amount of jovial spunk poured on top. The references within the game make me think this is true for the developers too.

Fantastic. I enjoyed the ambiance and design so much that I have played through many times. The main areas are very charming supported by an interesting story line. If you enjoyed horror in the 90s then this game is a great starting point in the retro-horror genre.
