Me da mucha lástima que esta industria siempre vaya a valorar más algo nuevo que algo ya existente. Cuando salió Tears of the Kingdom no fue tan vanagloriado como se merecía por la burrada que acababan de hacer porque era una secuela directa de Breath of the Wild. ¿Qué más da que esa estructura la plantease BotW? TotK destruyó toda nuestra manera de ver y entender el mundo por lo que las bases de BotW se sentían más como un prólogo a lo que acontecía. Pues eso mismo le pasa a Blasphemous II. The Game Kitchen ha cogido Blasphemous y le ha inflado a esteroides, ha mejorado prácticamente todos los aspectos del juego.

Empezaré por lo más negativo puesto que es poco. La única cosa que me ha chirriado han sido las escenas cinemáticas. En el primero las escenas estaban hechas también con el pixel art que tenemos durante el juego. Sin embargo, aquí han contado con una animación 2D que, bajo mi punto de vista, desentona demasiado con el estilo tan marcado que tiene esta franquicia. Imagino que los desarrolladores quisieron darle un glow up de calidad, pero no estoy dentro del barco al que le gustó esa decisión.

Pero, independientemente de que me guste más o menos la animación de las cinemáticas, el apartado visual y diseño de arte del juego son excelsos. Que estos andaluces quisiesen hacer un soulsvania basado en la Semana Santa me sigue teniendo dando volteretas. Es tan, pero TAN apropiado el tema para el formato de juego que no concibo cómo no se le había ocurrido a nadie antes. Las referencias en los escenarios, con ciertos personajes, el lore de los objetos equipables y, sobre todo, los enemigos, nos sumergen en un mundo perfectamente escrito y retratado que a los españoles se nos hará muy cercano en ciertos tramos. Pero de todas las referencias quiero destacar al jefe “El Afilador”, que realiza el mismo sonido característico que los afiladores ambulantes; yendo de calle en calle con un altavoz en su camioneta ofreciendo sus servicios.

Y hablando de los jefes, son una auténtica fantasía visual y jugable. He de admitir que se me han hecho mucho más sencillos que en el primero, pero imagino que será por mi experiencia en juegos del género. Todos los combates se sentían justos y cuando alguno que otro se me atragantaba lo único que pensaba era: “Culpa mía, he jugado mal”. Gracias tanto a las mejoras de movimiento y las armas hay bastantes formas de plantear los combates, dan muchas opciones al jugador.

Porque sí, la mejora de movimiento del penitente se nota demasiado y hace la experiencia mucho más satisfactoria. Me parece un acierto absoluto dividir la aventura en tres armas diferentes, cada una de ellas tiene ciertas características únicas y movesets. Pero lo más brillante de ellas es que influyen directamente en la exploración, puesto que cada una de ellas interactúa con ciertos elementos del escenario para sobrepasar obstáculos. Además, aunque en los compases iniciales puedas sentir más viable una u otra arma, cuando tienes todo desbloqueado todas son extremadamente viables y útiles. Es debido a esta variedad que la exploración y la estructura del mapa me parece mucho mejor gestionada que en la primera entrega. Tenemos mucho más por explorar pero bastante mejor conectado. Visualmente ya entiendes a la perfección de qué manera te vas a tener que mover o qué tipo de arma vas a tener que usar tanto para explorar como para luchar.

La música sigue siendo una fantasía, como en la primera entrega. Mantener toda la esencia eclesiástica española y combinarlo con una ambientación de fantasía oscura no es nada fácil, pero Carlos Viola lo consigue. Ya no sólo en los temas ambientales o de combate, también en los propios sonidos característicos del juego. Blasphemous tiene una identidad muy marcada y en gran parte es gracias a su apartado sonoro.

Poco más que añadir, una secuela prácticamente perfecta de una muy buena primera entrega. Si os gustó Blasphemous esta entrega os va a encantar. Esta secuela demuestra que a veces no es necesario innovar, sino llevar a la 5ª esencia lo que ya se domina.

Game is amazing in pretty much every aspect. Combat animations, art visuals, atmosphere; everything makes it worth the price 100%. Throughout the game I never thought to myself "I could be playing something else".

The story is comprehensible when you play it, although a lore explanation video wouldn't hurt. Combat is pretty satisfying and simple, but there is enough flexibility to be able to stick to one weapon or combine combos with the other weapons. The downside of this game was definitively the map layout. I found myself 2 times trying to figure out for the life of me where I needed to go next and having to use a guide. Overall, flying colours on everything, 10/10.

Now, compared to Blasphemous 1, I personally think this game changes on various aspects but not to the point you won't enjoy Blasphemous 2 if you adored or enjoyed Blasphemous 1. The main differences are:
-Combat: 1 weapon compared to 3/4 weapons
-Cutscenes: They feel out of place at times due to the change in art style
-Quests: Which are no longer missable
-Atmosphere: Compared to Blasphemous 1, this entry feels so much more vibrant and full of life

Blasphemous 2 makes it more "friendly" to newcommers, which isn't a bad thing by all means.
However, in the proccess they took what I think made this game so unique which is the connection between the Atmosphere of Cvstodia and the story/religious symbolism you had to figure out on your own. The atmosphere on Blasphemous 1 told with the artstyle felt so powerful in combination with the gameplay and story provided to a point that, you couldn't help but become curious as to the how's and why's of everything.

It was so immersive and I couldn't feel that same connection with Blasphemous 2, and I think that it's due to how a lot of stuff is presented to you with a golden plate, almost no effort needed so you could understand everything.

Still, I would 100% recommend the game to both newcommers and experienced players, both for full price and discounted.

Se você gostou do primeiro, Blasphemous 2 melhora em tudo.

A gameplay está mais fluida. O combate responde melhor. A exploração prende mais. Você sente evolução clara em cada parte do jogo.

A ambientação continua absurda. Visual forte, identidade única. A trilha sonora acompanha bem cada momento e mantém o clima pesado do início ao fim.

Os chefes são bons, mas seguem um padrão que já vinha do primeiro. O primeiro boss costuma ser o mais difícil. Depois disso, o nível cai bastante. Fica mais fácil do que deveria.
Isso muda um pouco no final. O penúltimo chefe já exige mais tempo e atenção. O último também sobe o nível. Nada impossível, mas quebra a facilidade do resto.

Sobre a platina, é tranquila.
Nada absurdo. Nada que trave seu progresso.
Se você curte completar tudo, vai conseguir sem sofrimento.

I prefer the first game for its lore, plus that pure unfiltered grit in its aesthetic and shock/scope in boss design. That said, Blasphemous 2 is a phenomenal Metroidvania, something the first game was not. True movement upgrades gate actual progress and enhance the platforming experience significantly. Combat got pretty phenomenal once I grew used to the weapon-switching gimmick, even if I do prefer the slower, more strategic approach the first game ran with. Mea Culpa is still the best weapon and thankfully the DLC lets you swing it at the last few bosses and in some new game plus runs if you so please. My few complaints regarding the first game are fixed by its sequel, with a much better map and no missable content or achievements aside from a speedrun one, which I also found much easier to route for than the first game's speedrun achievement. The game still looks phenomenal, maybe better depending on your preferences. My only true complaints once I learned to stop playing Blasphemous 2 as if it were Blasphemous, are the ones you're gonna hear any Blasphemous fan ♥♥♥♥♥ about. Cutscenes are no longer animated in pixel-art and are now hand-drawn, which of course again comes down to preference, but I think it's hard to disagree a bit of the first game's style is lost with immersion/cohesion potentially being a little more hindered by exposition. Not that there's much for this game anyhow. The other complaint is that there are less unique executions, something that is absolutely a result of there being three new weapons introduced to the world of Blasphemous, and so I do understand, even if it is still a lot disappointing seeing those thorns pop out the ground when you execute a new enemy type for the first time.

Blasphemous 2 is a worthy sequel with a sort of unnecessary story and a few slices of style shaved off the first game, but it more than makes up for any short-comings with brilliant level design built around super fun puzzle-platforming and combat systems.

Also I know I said I prefer the bosses in the first game but the bosses in this one are still pretty great. The names Afilaor, Benedicta, Odon and Eviterno will forever ring in my head.

游戏设计上超越了1代，更高的人物性能，更多的能力组合，更加完整、公式化（褒义）的地图设计，去除即死地刺，前期给回篝火的技能，各方面都是好游戏，但宗教氛围和一代相比还是差了点味道。而且还有沟槽的DLC真是败笔中的败笔，一代免费出了那么多内容到了这一代半天憋了坨大的，二周目如果选择全忏悔难度高得离谱，根本玩不下去。

The game is similar to the first game, very nice lore and characters, even better music and mechanics, better weapons and awesome dialogues and voicelines.

The artstyle has changed a bit, for me, I liked the prequel's style more, but this one is still really good.

Finally we got movement upgrades and movement now feels so smooth.

As for arsenal, now we have three (four if you have the DLC) different weapons that you can switch between at any time, more prayers (spells) than the previous game that are actually better, the Rosary Bead system is still here but its not as important as before, in the meanwhile we got a brand new system similar to that, called the "Altarpiece of Favours".

The quests are much more fun to do because now there are more and some are even puzzles to solve.

11/10, Absolute cinema.

Although I didn’t really enjoy its predecessor due to how it handles its metroidvania and souls-like aspects, Blasphemous 2 does a great job at fixing the previous one’s issues and expanding them greatly in a good way. The writing has also been improved a lot, providing clearer storytelling rather than being overly obscure and cryptic.

Now it would be safe to call Blasphemous 2 a metroidvania and a souls-like title because you get upgrades along the way to progress, and the punishment for dying is way more severe, along with tougher boss fights that will make you reconsider your approach to them many times.

The best addition is having three different weapons to choose from that behave quite differently from each other while maintaining a perfect balance without having obvious advantages from one another. Each adds a new twist to the gameplay, providing a choice for players to experience the game however they like.

However, not only do they behave as weapons, but they also act as great tools to navigate through the map with their own dedicated interaction points. If you own the DLC, the original weapon Mea Culpa trivializes them as it is a three-in-one package, as well as being significantly more powerful than the rest. Obtaining it is quite difficult; therefore, you’ll be spending quite a lot of time with the original weapons before getting your hands on it.

Double jump and air dash are also significant additions, as it is quite difficult to imagine a proper metroidvania title without those abilities. The other abilities you obtain along the way also help you progress through the game and help you reach the previously locked areas, instead of leading you to an offensive skill as it was in the previous title.

Rosary Beads make a return, but the majority of them are focused on increasing your defence against certain elements and attacks, while some of them grant you the ability to farm more Tears of Atonement and Marks of Martyrdom. Marks of Martyrdom are points that you can use to upgrade your weapons and increase your altarpiece slot capacity.

Altarpieces are crucial to gain tremendous advantages over the enemies, as they grant you abilities such as increased attack power and critical chance. However, a crucial flaw arises when it comes to Marks of Martyrdom. While it is possible to obtain all of them in a single playthrough, failing to purchase one from a moving vendor could lock you out of the 100% completion rate, forcing you to start a NG+ to undo your mistake.

As I’ve mentioned before, the story is not as cryptic as the previous one since it tells you what to do and where to go by placing markers on the map, as well as giving you a clearer goal. Anything about the story could be a spoiler; thus, I’ll avoid mentioning any of it except that it follows the Ending C from the first game.

The bosses, on the other hand, are quite tough and require different approaches and memorizing their movesets as they all have complicated patterns that cannot be breezed through, which adds value to its souls-like aspect. The only exception is the final boss, but that could be viewed as a reward for going through so many difficult battles beforehand.

The side quests are also improved a lot since it now shows a marker on the related NPC when you obtain a quest item. I just wish that after finishing the game, there was an option to see all collectibles on the map since I’ve spent many times looking for the missing Marks of Martyrdom, but it’s just a minor inconvenience in the grand sceheme of things.

Blasphemous 2 offers great improvements compared to the first one by making the abilities you obtain relevant to the progression, adding three new weapons, and markers for the main and side quests. The storytelling got a lot better, too, since they’ve abandoned the overly cryptic approach. With the tougher bosses and refined metroidvania mechanics, it succeeds in being one of the decent metroidvania souls-likes out there.

Es una experiencia audiovisual fascinante, la banda sonora que posee esta maravilla hace que cada segundo valga por completo la pena. Tomó elementos del 1 y los mejoró muy naturalmente, las misiones secundarias y objetos ocultos no son algo que busques como anillo en la arena, sino que son muy intuitivos y prácticos de realizar.

El retablo de favores es un gran añadido que le da mucha más exploración al juego, aunque a mi parecer que hayan tantos para el contenido que ofrece el juego acaba siendo ligeramente abrumador. Dejando de lado la equivalencia de intercambio entre objetos y contenido, es una maravillosa experiencia súper recomendable. Te amo Penitente.

Right off the bat, the improvements over the original game are apparent; and I loved the first game.

Option for multiple melee weapons, more frequent metroidvania-type unlocks for exploration, more forgiving platforming, etc.

That's on top of the imo still the best looking pixel art style, top notch voice acting, edgy believable world, and nice soundtrack.

Un juego increíble, un derroche de talento transformado en videojuego. Ojala más juegos como este donde el alma de cada parte del videojuego ha quedado plasmado en una obra maestra. Esas imágenes, ese recorrido por mi España, cada parte me teletransporta a los sentimientos de un pueblo entero. Ese sufrimiento ese desgarro tan especial que ya se sentía en Blasphemous ahora mucho mejor y mejorado en esta segunda parte.

En el apartado del plataformeo es inmejorable. Mucho mejor que en el primero sin duda. Es una gran experiencia para los recién iniciados en el mundo de los metroidvania ya que el juego te acompaña en cada parte y te invita a continuar sin encontrarte perdido en ningún momento. Esto es algo que se agradece y que no quita que te entren ganas de encontrar cada secreto hasta en el último rincón.

Finalmente en el apartado de lucha, es una pasada. Las armas se sienten únicas y dejan a la imaginación la mejor forma de vencer a cada enemigo. Siendo los enemigos vencibles de formas distintas y dejándote cada vez una agradable sensación en el estomago.

An enjoyable Metroidvania romp. Has a unique setting and pretty good graphics for the most part - especially backgrounds and other world art. I'm not sure that I'm a huge fan of its whole bloody, gory gross vibe at times, but that's a preference thing. Controls are good and maybe one thing I would like to see them improve in a sequel is the animations of your character and enemies. Maybe remove the "execution" system because those look pretty bad.

But anyway, I'm nitpicking. I pretty much picked this up and played until I finished, had overall a really good time. I've played tons of Metroidvainias, tons, and I would say this one's definitely on the upper end of quality as far as the full package goes. Would I say this is better than Hollow Knight? No. But it's better than a lot of others. If you're going to release a game like this in such a saturated genre you want it to stand out and I think this one does!

Juegazo, una joya de indie; es equiparable a la primera entrega, incluso diría que superó. El pixelart es muy bonito, el lore y la narrativa acompañan bien el juego. Dos puntos negativos: Las cinemáticas tipo anime no van con el arte de Blasphemous, no cuadran, y luego, las mecánicas de combate, siento que el primer juego estaba más pulido. Valió totalmente sacar los 3 finales, y la mejor, obviamente con la espada Me-a Culpa, tremendo final :')

Juegazo a la misma altura o incluso mas que el 1ro.
El combate es orgasmico y la ambientacion es de otro nivel.
Lo unico que se podria considerar negativo es que al igual que el primer juego, se siente mas dificil el recorrido que los propios jefes pero eso no quita el el penultimo jefe me hiciera gritar varios insultos.

(Update)- Ok this game is GOOD .I really like it, the bosses are great, music is somehting i always look at in games and in here it is soild. I only got lost on one of the puzzles because im dumb. Also the weapon choices are a big plus for me. 10/10 (the females are ok and the views in this artsyle are ok)

收集品一大堆，硬拖时长，boss设计也真的很一般，最关键能力，我的天能在透明地板上走路居然是一个能力，拿到的时候直接无语了，比一代的优点就是有三把武器，陷阱不是直接死，还有其他处处不如一代。
还有那个cg违和感拉满了。

def gonna change my review once my annoyance mellows down, but for now, I think it's a poor design to allow keyboard controls mapping and usage yet not optimize simple things like climbing a ladder :) You're basically forcing people to use controllers when they don't want to. What's the point of keyboard controls then~

An incredible aesthetic with interesting lore. The combat is balanced and challenging enough to remain entertaining. The only bad thing are the cutscenes. They may be very well animated but the clean art style doesn't match the game's atmosphere and heavy themes.

I really like it. And I'm glad it's longer than the first game, because even though I enjoyed the first one a bit more, it's a shame it isn't longer. But as to why I prefer the first game, in this one many bosses are really irritating and boring even when I learn their attack patterns. I just noticed I wasn't having as much fun with some of the bosses like I did in the first game.
And on the dlc, I know many people claim it's not worth it, but I disagree. Sure, the new weapons are cool, but Mea Culpa is just perfect and it makes the gameplay so much more fun than it would be with any other weapon. Maybe I'm biased because I didn't buy the dlc at full price, and yeah, for a dlc it is a bit pricey, but personally, I would buy it again even at full price because Mea Culpa is just that good.

But, just like the first one, this too genuinely makes me rage like no other game ever has. And that's all it takes to make Blasphemous 2 totally worth it for me.

我玩的时候全收集全地图都开了成就就是不跳，当时那会我复制存档了的所以想做全成就的千万别复制存档否者有可能和我一样出现了成就锁死的bug就算全收集完也不跳成就，游戏里面唯一有冲突的就俩个成就一个是 “当心脑袋” 另一个是 “残酷的同情” 可以先攻击闸刀获得“当心脑袋”成就后退出游戏就可以做另外一个成就了，这样就不需要复制存档了

Talvez meu hot take esteja muito enviesado pq esse review foi feito depois de jogar o game por umas 3h de madrugada num calor de 30 graus enquanto um monte de mosquitos estão chupando meu sangue mas eu achei esse game bem mid, a arte é legal e só isso, de resto tudo é bem "meh".
Não acho que ele seja tudo isso e não vale a pena pelo preço que está.
Por ser um rougue like funcional eu vou recomendar mas numa ultra promoção.

地图比1大很多，很多迷宫比1更甚，最主要的是地图没有记忆点，即便来过4-5次，依然记忆不起来哪里有什么锁需要什么东西解。但依旧和1代一样，很上头，好游戏。

J'en ai déjà vu des jeux difficiles etc... mais là c'est pas difficile c'est juste mal fait : les sauts sont dignes de ce qui ce faisait au début du jeu vidéo, c'est à dire aléatoire niveau résultat, idem pour les dégâts... vous avez dû mal à passer un boss, pas de soucis plus vous essayez plus vous perdez de pouvoir! ...c'est pas cool ça!
...et c'est pas le meilleur : vous voulez récupérer votre pouvoir pour essayer de passer un boss, pour cela il faut aller en ville mais vous êtes au boss et c'est loin, pas grave vous avez la possibilité de vous y téléporter grâce à un pouvoir... à oui mais non vous avez plus de pouvoir car il est bloqué car vous avez eu le malheurs de faire tentative pour tuer le boss et le meilleur votre accès pour vous rendre en ville est super bloqué aussi!!! ...il est pas bien ce jeu???? C'est vrais qu'il mérite ses évaluations super positives et d'être comparé à des souls like! C'est pas comme si les souls like c'était la persévérance qui était gratifiante avec un sentiment de se sentir plus fort alors qu'ici vous persévérez ce sera plus dur, vous serez moins fort, voir on vous bloquera complétement votre jeu sans moyen de retour en arrière.

本編だけクリア。遊びやすいメトロイドヴァニア。
とりあえずコレクション要素はどのエリアで何をいくつ取ったか、位はメモしておいたほうが良い。後で回収するときに虱潰しになるから。

探索は割と快適。メトロイドヴァニアらしく、進むにつれ探索範囲が広がっていく要素もしっかりある。隠し部屋とかしっかり探しておけば、中盤以降により快適になるアップデートもある。通過できないギミックはしっかりマークしておかないと道に迷うかもしれない。
戦闘難易度はほどほどかな？ボスは格差が極端だけど、基本的には弱いボスが多い。やや苦戦したのは3体くらいだけど、それにしても、2,3回目くらいには大体のパターンが見えてくるので「慣れれば勝てるだろう」という感覚になる。パターンを覚えてしっかり対応、ターン制じみたボス戦に慣れてる人なら辛くはないと思う。そうじゃない人はきついかも。

ストーリーは1をやってないのを差し引いてもよくわからない。天使的なやつに何かやべーのが復活しそうだから邪魔者を倒しながら阻止してきてー、って言われて遂行しに行く感じ？まあそのくらいの理解度でも特に問題なかった。

細かいストレスはあるものの、基本的には文句無し。

Jogo é maravilhoso, os 3 finais são todos interessantíssimos pra lore. A jogabilidade se mantém a mesma pegada do primeiro jogo, com a mudança de 1 ou 2 comandos (zerei ambos no controle), a adiação do pulo duplo, do dash aéreo e das armas novas encaixou muito bem. Quem gostou de Blasphemous 1 precisa jogar esse.

Algo que eu ia esquecendo de mencionar, ele roda liso liso no meu notebook, que é uma máquina bem fraquinha. Não tive uma única travada sequer.

精美的美术设计，教科书般的关卡设计。
关卡设计真的神中神，很多地方都能玩着让人感觉到“妙啊，这才是银河战士恶魔城该有的地图设计！”再加上和不同的武器结合，简直太精彩了。
游戏比一代玩下来丝滑了太多，并且对玩家也很友善，比如可以自行开关是否陷阱一击毙命，随着进度解锁存档点传送之后，极大程度的减少了跑图的时间，对于收集隐藏非常友好。
要说缺点的话，个人玩下来感觉有的个别boss开场有动画是不能跳的，因为boss要死很多次，每次都要看个动画再打，就感觉非常墨迹，如果改成第一次是强制观看，后面可以跳过就好了。

It's a very good metroidvania but I wasn't a fan of those timed jumping puzzles (of which 2 or 3 were in my opinion quitre obnoxious) and a gruesome christian inspired lore isn't really my jam. But I really liked combat, even if bosses were a bit too easy. Exept for the second to last boss, others weren't really challanging. It was also quite jarring to see those smooth animated cutscenes. I preferred the estetic of those in the first game.
All in all it's a good game, but I prefer Castlevania estethics and feel, so I've had much more fun playing The Last Faith, that I've finished just before picking this one up.
