이 게임은 매우 긍정적이라는 평가를 받을 자격이 없는 쓰레기다. 왜냐하면 게임을 할 수가 없기 때문이다. 게임을 켜고 튕기기 까지 5초면 충분하다. 이건 퀵세이브를 이용해서 어떻게든 진행할 수 있는 단계를 아득히 뛰어넘는다. 대작 소리를 들어온 게임이라기에 인터넷을 뒤져 나오는 모든 대처 방법들을 써봤지만 소용이 없었고, 역시 킬링타임용 고전게임을 위해 이정도씩이나 인내심을 가지고 시간을 할애하는건 한량 백수나 할 수 있는 일일것이다. 같은 문제를 겪고 있다면 깔끔히 포기해라. 솔직히 그렇게 재밌지도 않다. 1편의 엔딩을 보고 2편의 초반부를 경험했지만 바이오쇼크의 위명은 명백히 과장되었다. 인피니트를 경험하고 나면 달라질 평가일지도 모르겠지만 2편은 인피니트와 연결되지도 않는다고 하니 스킵해라.

[h1][b]Recommendation:[/b][/h1]
Would I recommend this game? No – and that’s purely because of the technical performance issues I experienced on PC. These problems had a major impact on my experience, which is really unfortunate because the game itself is one of my all-time favourites. I’ve 100% completed it multiple times on console and again on the remastered version, but this PC port of the original is rough. Unless you’re willing to troubleshoot, I can’t recommend buying it on its own.

When I first launched the campaign, I was hit with constant crashes. It was genuinely unplayable at first. I eventually managed to stabilise it by following a combination of community fixes – specifically [b][i][url= https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3319446016] Ghost’s [/url][/i][/b] guide and [b][i][url= https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=210917941] DENIS_Biomechanoid 🍑 [/url][/i][/b] guide. One required editing .ini values, and the other involved downloading additional files. It didn’t eliminate the crashes entirely, but it made the game stable enough for me to finish. I’ve left a detailed comment on Ghost’s guide explaining what worked for me, so if you run into the same problems, I’d suggest checking that first.

The frustrating part is that none of this should be necessary. No game you purchase should require this level of tweaking just to function properly. Interestingly, the multiplayer ran fine for me for around the 19 hours I was in it. The issues were strictly tied to the single-player campaign.

There were also smaller annoyances – full screen could behave oddly, tabbing out sometimes caused problems, and settings would occasionally reset themselves. It just isn’t a well-optimised PC port. If not for these issues, I would recommend this game without hesitation.

Putting the technical issues aside though, the game itself is fantastic.

Narratively, it’s dark, gritty and keeps you hooked from start to finish. Exploring Rapture as a Big Daddy is a brilliant twist, and while the structure is mostly linear, your choices do influence certain outcomes and endings. The writing fits the world perfectly and keeps you immersed throughout.

Visually, it has held up well for its age. Yes, it looks dated compared to modern titles, but the art direction and world design are still strong. The environmental storytelling, paired with the audio logs scattered throughout, adds real depth to Rapture and makes it feel alive.

The sound design is just as good. Hearing splicers in the distance, the heavy footsteps of Big Daddies, and the eerie voices of the Little Sisters all build tension constantly. Everything works together to create a compelling atmosphere.

Gameplay-wise, it’s simple and works exactly as intended – when the game itself behaves. There’s a good variety of weapons and plasmids to use and upgrade. It’s not just run-and-gun either; you have defence-style segments, boss encounters, search-and-retrieve objectives and more. The variety helps keep things fresh rather than relying on one single gameplay loop throughout.

Multiplayer exists in this original version but was removed from the remastered edition. There are still small pockets of players active, but from my experience the remaining community can be quite toxic and mostly look to steamroll new players. I wouldn’t recommend jumping into it casually. The single-player campaign is the real highlight here.

There is DLC, most notably Minerva’s Den, which I genuinely enjoyed. It adds a strong self-contained story, new weapons, new enemies and new areas, all of which are well designed and worth playing. The Protector Trials mode, however, didn’t do much for me. It’s essentially a series of challenge arenas where you protect a Little Sister using pre-determined loadouts. I found it tedious rather than fun. Personally, I think they could have just stuck with Minerva’s Den.

Overall, I love this game itself. But the technical issues I experienced on PC are simply too significant for me to recommend buying it standalone. I purchased it as part of the [i]BioShock: The Collection bundle[/i], which includes the other games, and that’s the route I’d suggest. The bundle goes on sale regularly, and that’s the best way to pick this up – not on its own.

[h1][b]Achievements:[/b][/h1]
[b][i]DLC is required for 100% completion, and there are also 15 multiplayer achievements. Because of that, a boosting group of at least four people is highly recommended.[/i][/b]

Overall, the achievements are fairly straightforward, and there are plenty of guides online since the game is quite old now. I’d strongly suggest using the roadmap on TrueAchievements, as it gives a good structure to follow.

The multiplayer achievements aren’t too bad in terms of requirements – the main issue is that the multiplayer is basically dead, and progress cannot be fully unlocked in private matches. You can make progress on some achievements in private games [i](for example, reaching level 40)[/i], but you will still need to play a public match afterwards for the achievements to actually pop. There’s a guide by [b][i][url= https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=481757730] Murphy’s Lawyer [/url][/i][/b] on Steam that goes over this in more detail.

One thing to be aware of: some people have had trouble getting the map-related achievements to unlock. A few players have reported that these need to be done within a single game session – meaning you can’t do all maps privately, close the game, and then come back the next day expecting it to unlock after one public match. Instead, you need to play the private matches and then immediately go into a public match while the game is still running. It doesn’t affect everyone, but worth noting just in case.

Also, the map-specific achievements each have their own condition, even if you did all the private matches correctly:

[*][b]Territorial[/b] – Won a non-private match in each of the 6 new maps. → You must win – either a team mode or free-for-all should count. Using the TIE method works as well, however some players may need to win one extra match on any of the needed maps afterwards for it to unlock properly. When boosting, you need a minimum of 4 players to start a public lobby. The main issue you’ll face is randoms joining and griefing your progress. There’s still a tiny number of players active who will try to ruin what you’re doing – even if you ask nicely – so be prepared. The best ways to deal with that are:[list]
[*]Get enough achievement hunters to fill the lobby [i](I believe that’s 10 players)[/i], or
[*]If a random joins, work together to eliminate them until they leave

For example, when we were doing Adam Grab and attempting a tied match [i](nobody touches the Little Sister for 10 minutes)[/i], we’d all protect her – and if a random showed up, we made them the main target until they rage-quit. It’s not pretty, but sometimes you have to adapt when others are actively trying to ruin your session.

Aside from the multiplayer achievements, everything else is easily done solo and offline besides the technical issues with the game itself.

Despite this version of the game kept crashing because of incompatibility to my device, I still love the story and vibe of this game. The way it executes the story straight to the point.

I also love the controls, mechanic, and other stuff in the game itself despite being frustrating with some enemies. Overall, great game. After all these years playing one of the favorite games I found online as a kid, this hooked me up the entire gameplay. Not very boring and makes me really locked in on it.

Как и в первой части установил игру с диска. Во 2 части играем уже за большого папочку (приходится валить других больших папочек) и есть младшая сестричка, при этом ХП не так уж и много и враги могут убить, можно свободно плавать в костюме (в конкретных игровых моментах). Начальный ролик драматичный, сюжет сложно будет описать. Вступительный ролик повествует о событиях 1958 года (за два года до начала первой части BioShock). София Лэмб (главный враг), мать Элеоноры (стала в последствии маленькой сестричкой), разлучает пару и заставляет Дельту (главного героя) покончить с собой. Дельта пробуждается в 1968 году, воскрешённый младшей сестричкой под руководством Элеоноры. С помощью союзника Тененбаума Огастуса Синклера (помощник главного героя дает советы по выживанию, основал фирму по продаже плазмидов). Дельта пробирается к Элеоноре, которая оказалась в ловушке в крепости Софии Лэмб. Лэмб планирует использовать Адама, чтобы перенести разумы и воспоминания всех обитателей Восторга в Элеонору, чтобы создать самоотверженного лидера, даже святого ребенка. Можно сверлить врагов буром, но топливо быстро расходуется, есть новые враги - бронированные толстяки (громилы), старшие сестрички (высокие и худые в железном костюме) так же получше стала графика. Есть возможность взлома автомата, турелей, камер с помощью нажатия кнопки в определенный момент, причем враги сначала агрятся и атакуют взломанные (наши) турели, а в это время мы их валим. Можно использовать и плазмиды и оружие то есть стрелять с двух рук. Иногда враги могут убегать. В игре несколько концовок если пощадим всех/некоторых/никого основных персонажей и маленьких сестричек.

Bioshock 2 entra no meu top 10 jogos que já joguei na vida, a história consegue ser boa igual à do primeiro e conseguiu me emocionar no final. Diferente do seu antecessor, achei a gameplay dele muito mais atual e divertida, entretanto achei a ambientação um pouco pior se comparada com o primeiro; ainda é sim uma ambientação incrível que te deixa imerso. Enfrentei alguns problemas na hora de conseguir jogar e só consegui jogar usando o Remaster com fixes feitos pela comunidade.

Трохи побісили вильоти, з ними потрібно частіше зберігатися. Але пошук фіксу зайняв би напевно стільки ж часу - скільки і на вильоти. Забив болт. Запуск з directx 9 і сумісність з віндою допоміг на перший час. Але потім знову вилітало. Але це не проблема, я просто перепроходив і вибрав оригінал раз його не видалили з магазину. В ремастері, здається, такого немає.

This game is a worthy sequel to the first game even though the story and gameplay are inferior, in my opinion. I could never use dual wielding efficiently having to keep track of too many elements at times and constant screen shaking gave me motion sickness. The whole story itself can be figured out in the first hour of gameplay.
Regardless it's a game worth playing.

Bioshock 2 mejora en casi todos los apartados del original. Mejora la relacion con los personajes, su gameplay es mucho mas inmediato y saca las trabas del primero.
Y nunca te despegas de su historia ni tu implicacion en ella, logrando un final mucho mas satisfactorio y plasmando tus decisiones por el camino.

Bioshock 2 no se queda lejos de su antecesor logrando sacar los mejor del primero, mejorando y ampliando su mundo, lo que toda secuela deberia ser.

In my personal opinion, this game feels far more refined than the first game, it feels like what they wanted the first one to be.
clearly they listened to player feedback as elements from the first game were reworked in the second.
coming from the first game, it was quite a change, controls were different, mechanics just felt wrong, but after i gave it time to really figure out the changes, and i rebound some keybinds to keep to the first game as much as possible, it grew on me.

Another note, if your game crashes repeatedly, use DXVK. following this goated guys guide

The OG BioShock 2 is goated and is the best way to experience this masterpiece of a game. If you are experiencing issues with crashing, try using -dx9 in the launch options, it may help alleviate the issue.

I am not giving a thumbs down because of the game itself. Bioshock 2 rules, but this is one of the worst ports i have ever seen. Constant crashing (both versions) still not fixed and no one in 2K cares. Unacceptable.

despite it being an old ass game both this version and the remastered version are fun to play around with especially with all the paths you can take along side the abilities you can use. i personally ran lvl 3 frost, electro, bee, and inferno 10/10 would recommend

Начал играть сразу после первой и удивился что играем мы за Альфа папочку. Что бросается в глаза крутой бур которым приятно играл нежели гаечным ключом. Сделали также приятный и адекватный взлом.Сеттинг в игре такой же .и саундртек также оченб классный ( и озвучка конечно тоже ( англ)).Есть новые враги(3) оружия(3) и парочку всяких систем безопасности.Гейплейно мне зашло больше играть во вторую чем в первую.немного о минусах. Ру озвучку также нет . Есть ачивки ( и душные и за мультиплеер но о нем позже).Управление здесь клавишами намного хуже чем в первой. я разрабу руки целовал. Скучных моментов тоже больше ( но тут это якобы канонично + ты можешь их не делать ) .Нельзя самому восстанавливать ману ( ток автоматически) .
Во второй середине игры были постоянные краши( говорят в сообществе что изза пулемета) но я его перестал юзать и все равно были на каждом шагу и с помощью бубна я кое как прошел этот момент а затем все стало на круги своя.
можно будет сыграть за сестричку ( и мы поймет благодаря этому почему сестрички такие добрые) А вот большие сестры( новый враг) гнида полная.
Концовок в игре 5 . хорошая 2 . нейтральная . и плохие. прошел на хорошую и нейтральную.
Сюжет мне зашел тут больше чем в первой. хотя многим игра не зашла изза сюжета но здесь я увидел чтото инетересное . история простых персонажей которые живут . сага с дочкой и матерью . история о том что даже самый альтруистичный человек изза власти и своих хотелок может превратиться в такого же "диктатор" против которого когда то выступала. сюжет не про политику а больше про жизнь в разрушенном городе . о истории простых людей которые хотели жить и не сойти с ума.
есть 2 длс .
1ое сюжетное. очень добротное . мне понравилось . прошел также на одном дыхании часов за 6 ( со всеми ачивками( они тут ваще не душные ). Есть новые пушки и новые враги.
второе длс это просто товер дефенс девочек. фанаты явно есть но не я . Хотя изза челленджей мне было парочку интересно сыграть и были моменты где я аж запотел прям .
Также есть мультиплеер но он мертв. все.
итог. 9 из 10 . минус изза вылетов . душных моментов . нет ру озвучки. более затянута игра нежели первая.
советую сразу играть ремастер. вылетов меньше.

I know this game is really good, and probably more than that, but I can’t say I had fun. The game constantly crashes for some reason, and sometimes it’s literally unplayable. If you want to experience BioShock 2, I strongly recommend playing the remastered version. It might not be as pretty as the original, but at least it isn’t a headache. There are probably ways to fix these issues, but for someone like me with minimal IT knowledge, that’s not a practical option. Overall, it is still a great game.

Es una continuación al primer BioShock pero con una historia y escenarios menos interesantes. Lo bueno es que cambia casi todas las armas no siendo repetitivo en ese aspecto. Ahora manejamos a un big daddy en busca de su little sister y habremos de enfrentarnos a los ya conocidos spliters y nuevas verciones de ellos. A contraparte de los big daddys estan las big sisters, las cuales son enemigos mas agiles. Si te gustó el primero y te quedaste manija de seguir jugando dale una oportunidad.

Just beat the main story of Bioshock 2 and man idk why this game received so much hate. It was such a such a good game honesty, sure the prequel game (Bioshock 1) was definitely better than this in aspects other than gameplay + the big sister encounters became extremely repeatitive and tedious but story is engaging with gameplay like this I can't really complain.

Yes the game crashes alot {When graphics settings are higher}, Constant quicksaves with f12 before and after most (if not all) minor or major events or looting to not lose even a hint of progress.
Though after a while and in the last section of the game it just stopped crashing in total {after lowering the graphics at some point}.

Now for the game itself.
This is a story game.. if you know the story too bad, its now just gameplay for you.
If you haven't played the game and don't know the story then it is possibly worth playing atleast once, though don't feel surprised if the gameplay becomes monotonous over time.

However well this all seems, I can only recommend buying the complete bundle (presumably on discount) due to old game symptoms where atleast one of the other games in the series may be playable/preferred enough to be worth your time.

This thing is so much better than the first game, there isn't a single part of this game that made me uninterested, unlike Bioshock 1 that was kind of lean on the first destinations.

johnny's (aka delta) bond with eleanor was beautiful, meaningful and actually was more than just a trivial fact to the history, the other fact that you can use a plasmid while already using a gun is so much helpful agaisnt big sisters, spider splicers and etc, and also makes this game have a quicker pace compared to bioshock 1, kind of sad that the first game is way more popular than this sequel

please make this game more stable. it's frustrating for it to crash all the time when the autosave is only every 20 minutes. You have to manually save often or risk losing progress. love the concept, just wish the software was better. even tried fixing some of the script in the game files myself and it still doesn't permanently offer a fix.

De nada pareciera valer la calidad de un juego, si el mito no acompaña. Bioshock 2 es excelente, una continuación que expande y amplía su mundo. Pero no fue hecho por la misma gente que la primera parte.
Sin el por entonces prestigio del director Ken Levine, Bioshock 2 fue considerada como una obra menor. Sumergido en el ostracismo hasta el día de hoy.

Años después se publicaría Bioshock Infinite, secuela, ahora sí, creada por Ken Levine. Ganando por esto sus cotas de prestigio. Pero, con el tiempo se sabría que quien hizo posible el juego fue Rod Fergusson. Cohesionando y completando el juego tal y como lo conocemos.

La industria del videjuego vive sumergida en mitos. Quién sabe si algún día Bioshock 2 despierte el suyo

I love this game. Have it on every platform. HOWEVER, the steam version boots me off all the time. It's so frustrating. So, YES on the GAME and NO on the STEAM VERSION. My fav version of all is Xbox.
