The entire concept of being able to base gameplay using your songs is great and what draws most people in.
But after actually playing a handful of songs no matter how different they all ended up feeling mostly the same, with the gameplay being as simple as it is you'd want the concept to make up for it but it just dosn't do enough, I attempted many high bpm songs with loud sections expecting the gameplay to match when in reality it just ended up being the same as any other song just with brighter flashing lights and a few more enemies.

In terms of the songs already included with the game they fair a little bit better but still suffer from the under utilization of the conecpt. This game could have been leagues better if they had just gone further with the idea of the gameplay being tied to the music, and not just having more enemies and strobes.

Disappointing to say the least.

This is not a good music visualiser. I've seen and made a lot in my life as a passion. It is far too strobey and is just really unpleasant. I like how you can use spotify though. I couldn't play it for very long though so can't comment on gameplay. If there were options for different music visualisers it might be a different story. Also I did turn down the intensity and it was still awful. Also

Beat Hazard 2?
Completed it mate.

Fun game, If you like Bullet Hell games and listening to your own music then you will love this.
The game allows you to listen to songs on Spotify and Apple Music (etc.) and will detect the track you are playing and allow you to compete with others on popular songs.
I'll admit, it is a little bit janky. for example if you die and restart, you also have to restart the music, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me.

You can also design your own ships with a ship parts pack (I think you get it off the website if I remember correctly), check out mine in the workshop!

The game world here consists entirely of the track selection UI and the outer space shooting area. The outer space area, which is where all the gameplay takes place, is really only a 2D top-down area against an unchanging black backdrop. There is no interaction with the world at all aside from enemies. This can definitely be improved.

There is no narrative here.

[h1][b] Gameplay (Mechanics/Difficulty) – [7/10] [/b] [/h1]
The gameplay loop consists of taking a ship, of which you have multiple pre-built ships and the option to make a custom ship(!), then going into a song and trying to survive and/or score the highest. At the highest level, that’s it.
There are multiple little things that can alter the core loop - like doing shadow missions for ships to unlock modules that provide certain advantages like increased bullet damage or mobility. There’s also the option to create your own build via perks. I like this as you can tailor the perks to help your playstyle, such as choosing weapons, or focusing on a pacifist multiplier, or if trying a very hard difficulty, adding more lives in.
The shooting is also well done. Each ship has its own unique feel and shooting path as well as mobility, there are a lot of stats to take into consideration. There are a variety of unique and dangerous enemies, each with their own arsenal and behavior. The bosses are kind of a letdown though - there are only two varieties: a ship and a worm, with the only difference being the size.

The difficulty is very customizable with multiple options. The difficulty directly influences your score by offering more enemy targets to shoot. I personally found my sweet spot on the Apocalyptic/Zen difficulty, which seems to be the in the top 3 or 2 most difficulty, respectively. At the higher difficulties, this can quickly become overwhelming, while at the lower difficulties, it's almost a snoozefest, so I really like the accommodation for different types of players.

[h1] [b] Graphics (Quality/Technical) – [3/10] [/b] [/h1]
The graphics are good and appear high quality of the PS4-era. A distinct style of the graphical fidelity is often “Seizure inducing” lights, including random space debris from killing enemies. Both of these can greatly increase the difficulty and in regard to the latter, doesn’t seem to be a way to turn it off or down.

The technical issues are numerous, and I found them to be a big source of many of my frustrations.
First and foremost, the game’s Open Mic setting. A genius concept that was sorely needed in BH1 is implemented here that allows you to listen to music from outside the game and have it function inside the game. This actually works maybe ~70% of the time for me. In addition to it erroring out seconds into the start of the song, it's super annoying that it doesn’t save your option. I use a SteelSeries audio setup, so maybe my issues are slightly more unique, but every time I launched the game I had to go to the options and set the correct Open Mic source. Every time.
Aside from Open Mic, there was a plethora of other issues -
Borderless fullscreen acting like tabbing out, which is super annoying when you constantly have to tab out for Open Mic selection (maybe its my HDR settings, idk)
Small 1-second lag on songs, even when choosing the internal track list
Other options, like weapon perk bound buttons not saving between songs
Crash to desktop.

The in-game audio tracks are good and well done. Nothing that I’ll remember or add to my Spotify, but they definitely fit with the game and were solid.

Bonus point here for the Open Mic mode, because while it was the source of some technical frustration, jamming out to anything on my Spotify list in-game was phenomenal, when it worked.

There is some good replay value here, lots of unlockables, perk upgrading, and leaderboard challenges create an environment focused on skill progression, even after unlocking everything.

Beat Hazard 1 was a super fun and somewhat revolutionary game when it came out over a decade ago. I remember thoroughly enjoying my time with it. So my expectations for BH2 were higher, especially with the advent of streaming music and how that should absolutely be incorporated into modern BH releases. While I don’t remember specifics from BH1 to BH2, I can say that Open Mic fulfills some of that demand for an external music source integration, but it can lead to frustration due to it simply not functioning.

Despite the Open Mic issues, I think that BH2 is still a solid game, with some caveats. For me, the biggest issue aside from technical problems was the lack of any sort of direction or goals. You load into the game and suffer through a somewhat confusing UI to play a track, finish it, level up (why?) unlock perks, get a score, and unlock a ship. That’s the core loop for EVERY SONG.
After about 5 or 6 songs, I was kinda confused on what I should be doing. I preferred to use the Standard ship for leaderboards, so that cut a huge swath of the game out from unlock/other ships. It didn’t take long before I unlocked all perks and then just needed to level up my core build, which is a grind, but not excessive. The point I’ve reached after only a few hours is draped in the questions of “What now?” and “Why?” Aside from chasing ever-increasing scores for leaderboard placement, there is nothing to do, and the levels doesn’t offer enough variety to really do anything else.

So overall, Beat Hazard 2 I think is a good game. I think it has it’s clear fun parts, with some also clear problems. I think that the gameplay loop is enjoyable, but it needs more focus instead of just chasing leaderboard scores. Due to this, I will recommend this game, but only just and strongly suggest getting it on sale.

The beat detection algorithm is also more accurate, syncing player firepower and enemy patterns more tightly with the music. It feels faster and cleaner overall.

Music integration is versatile. You can play songs from your local files or from streaming platforms like Spotify, which greatly expands the variety of experiences. Each track becomes a level, and the game’s algorithm translates volume, tempo, and rhythm data into procedural gameplay that feels handcrafted for each song.

The progression system offers unlockable ships, upgrades, and perks that give the player meaningful goals beyond just scoring high. These additions make the game feel more structured without losing the freeform creativity of its music-driven design.

Overall, Beat Hazard 2 is an intense and innovative shooter that perfectly captures the energy of your music. It doesn’t reinvent the series but refines it into a smoother, more polished experience. For players who enjoy rhythm-based games and pure visual chaos, it remains one of the most satisfying ways to play your music rather than just listen to it.

It was a'ight. To me it seemed like songs all played and looked the same. I could barely tell it was moving to the song.
I miss Audiosurf from back in the day... that game actually felt like I was riding the song itself. This seems to be ... loosely tied to the song a little?? Strictly on whether it was an okay experience, I would say yes. But because it was so disappointing from the perspective of a game "POWERED BY [MY] MUSIC", I would not recommend it.

一开始用的键鼠，射击能精准一些，后来解锁了自动攻击后换成了手柄，但是自动攻击打BOSS时候判定有点奇怪，离的远会朝着BOSS的中心攻击，周围的红色武器无法锁定，除非靠近，比如BOSS后面的武器，你想打到它，得绕后，此时BOSS的旋转速度和你差不多，但是它同时攻击，这样子你很难到达BOSS的身后，导致无法击杀BOSS，而且自动攻击一旦装上去，手动攻击控制方向就不生效了，有些飞机的攻击范围不是很广，就很难受，建议存在自动攻击时，手动攻击时也可以控制方向。

bom, vamos lá, ja joguei esse jogo um pouco para poder escrever minha avaliação. eu achei bem gostosinho de jogar no início até pegar o jeito achei um pouco difícil depois que acostuma é tranquilo ja estou jogando na dificuldade mais alta que é a zen+ pelo que vi aparentemente as naves inimigas aparentemente aparecem mais ou menos de acordo com o tempo da musica e o seu poder de fogo quando há som é mais forte do que quando não há na música, então meter uma música bem barulhenta aparentemente ajuda bastante pela minha experiência, eu construí uma nave que achei uma das melhores até o momento com boa mobilidade e um alto poder de fogo além de atirar em um leque bem aberto então quando a tela está poluída de inimigos muitas vezes eu dou conta mesmo sem as armas secundárias so no tiro básico mesmo.
ainda nao experimentei contra bosses.
tem varios modos de jogo e eu pensei em fazer uma maldade mas no final até desisti e joguei o audio no lixo, eu tentei colocar algumas musicas de outras pessoas pra tocar e vi que algumas precisa de ter spotify as que eles tem no pc como eu tenho nao da pra tentar bater os recordes deles, se tem eu nao vi como ainda.
minha maldade foi fazer o download do gemidao que sao 7s eu fiz um audio de 21 minutos de gemidao e nomeei de "I chalange you to beat this song in insane difficulty" mas no final nem tentei colocar no jogo pois pensei que talvez o povo nao teria como jogar com a musica e 21 min ouvindo a alexis gritar OHHHH tamém é cruel demais até pensei em baixar pra 7min só mas depois desisti. E talvez alguns dos jogadores sejam crianças o que também me pesou um pouco na conciêcia e foi o fator mais decisivo no final. Mas que ia ser uma zoeira épica isso ia ser kkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

esse foi um dos poucos jogos que eu nao joguei da forma mais errada possivel pois nao tem muito como fazer isso aqui.

The game has some great looking environments and the graphics are well designed and laid out

The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nonetheless

Beat Hazard 2 overall, however, is a fun game to play in short bursts and a great rhythm-based game to play!

Как-то вторичненько. Первая часть даже лучше.
Тут зачем-то заставили геймпад настраивать. Музыка та же самая. Кораблей даже меньше. Вайба тоже меньше.
Короче какой-то высыр, чисто назвать часть 2 и продать. а зачем? для чего ?
Вторая часть игры всегда должна быть хуже, как в случае с The Last of Us Part II.
Исключение только фильм Терминатор 2 ))

Game keeps crashing. Can't even play it. Also the developer banned me cuz I criticized his game. If you can't take criticism them don't release products to the public to criticize.
***UPDATE: I changed review cuz developer fixed the issues. And the banning was mostly due to how I criticized. But at the same time, if one can't take criticism (In any manner, outside of threats or slurs) then don't release products to the public to criticize.

There is a lot of genuine innovation over the first game. One very nice feature is that you can just play a youtube video in the background now & the game will analyse it, figure out what the song is called & who it's by, & you can just play it like that, without having to convert & download the track onto your hard-drive like you did in the first game. The menu system is awkward & often does strange things that I don't understand.

j'ai connu la première version du jeux dans les années 2010, et ça n'a fait que s'améliorer, rien à redire à part le manque de traduction dans certaines parties du jeux, comme les caractéristique des vaisseaux ou missiles.

Good game. Fun to play for a while and see what comes of your music. BH3 seems to be doing something interesting in terms of music discovery, plus it has more abilities, so I recommend you pick that one up instead.

One of the best rhythm games out there. Very enjoyable to go for the 100% as well. I will definitely get the 3rd installment when I feel the need for some more Beat Hazard.

The first Beat Hazard was good, something rather unique at that. It's not a rhythm game really, but it does power the enemies and levels based on your music. The second one however is even better. The desktop listening mode is fantastic, and if you use something like VoiceMeter to split your discord audio out, it ignores that output and focuses on your desktop music.

One of the issues I think Beat Hazard originally had was that you sort of just played the game to test some songs and then didn't stick around much longer. Beat Hazard 2 on the other hand gives you unique challenges like playing through a song with "hurt", either in the title or the lyrics, which I am not sure, but it's my favourite feature because it sends you through some very interesting music.

The desktop listening feature is by far one of the smartest ways I've seen a game get around music licensing too, and it still identifies the song you're listening to in order to build a proper stage out of it rather than just accept it as unknown audio. Fantastic improvement on the first game!

L'idée du jeu est pas mal, franchement.
Générer les vagues d'attaque via la musique, c'est une bonne idée. Surtout que j'ai une bibliothèque de musique assez conséquente.

Malheureusement, le jeu a un énorme problème : il EXIGE UNE MAUDITE CONNEXION INTERNET POUR FONCTIONNER !!! Non, non, non, et non !!!
C'est inutile et stupide. Soyez coupé d'internet, pour quelques raisons que ce soit, et votre jeu ne sert à rien. Ayez une 4G un tant soit peu boîteuse, et vous pouvez vous asseoir sur la bouteille ! Tout çà pour quoi ? Des défis en ligne ? Un classement mondial ? Mais j'en ai rien à carrer de çà ! Je DOIS pouvoir jouer HORS LIGNE ! J'ai acheté le jeu, foutez-moi la paix avec çà !

Donc, non, je ne recommande pas. Un jeu qui ne fonctionne pas si j'ai internet coupé, ça dégage. Si j'avais remarqué cette connerie plus tôt, je me le serai fait rembourser ! On ne m'y reprendra plus !

Несмотря на свой простенький геймплей [i](летай-стреляй)[/i] у всей линейки [b]Beat Hazard[/b] неплохо получается апеллировать к двум человеческим любвям: видеоиграм и музыке. Так традиционный [i]процесс прослушивания[/i] песни превращается уже в [i]игровой[/i]. А количество удовольствия на выходе начинает зависеть не только от успехов геймера, но и от его личного отношения к саундтреку космической битвы. Причем оба процесса друг другу никак не препятствуют, ведь простота геймплея расходует мыслетопливо игрока на минимум. Тем самым оставшаяся концентрация уходит на усваиваемость песни и его текста без каких-либо потерь. По сути, это такой интерактивный визуализатор для осознанного прослушивания музыки.

Но есть у этого и обратная сторона. Как бы не расширялся боевой арсенал, на покупку не предлагались процедурные корабли, а на экране не царствовали процедурные боссы и обилие световых эффектов [i](еще одна фишка игры)[/i], [i]разнообразие[/i] проекта обречено на быстрое [i]вымирание[/i]. И даже поддержка [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/618740/workshop/][i]мастерской [b]Steam[/b][/i][/url] и наличие нескольких режимов — лишь [i]капля в море[/i] времени за игрой в сей продукт.

Recently got this and lost 3 straight hours while playing through my liked songs on Spotify. As a shmup fan this is a must. As a shmup fan with a very large liked song playlist on Spotify this is a no brainer. I expect many many more wonderful hours playing through this before I finally snag the newest one and get lost in that as well. Huge props to the creator.
