Atom RPG: Trudograd is a turn-based post-apocalyptic roleplaying game, which continues the story of Atom RPG as a stand-alone sequel/expansion, and follows the traditions set by classic cRPGs such as the early Fallout and Wasteland titles.

Storyline

The game is set two years after the original, which followed a rookie Soviet ATOM agent tasked with venturing into the post-apocalyptic wastes of the USSR several decades after a nuclear exchange with NATO. That agent discovered a new threat that could destroy the already scattered remnants of humanity. In the sequel, players are sent to a ruined metropolis that might contain what humanity needs to fend off the threat revealed at the end of the original game. Besides a new story, Trudograd features numerous enhancements, tweaks, and upgrades that were requested by the community since the first game launched nearly two years ago.

It's a great sequel/DLC for ATOM RPG. Hard to say how to call it exactly, it took me 35h to finish compared to ATOM's 50 (Not a 100% completion but both cases I would guess about 90% of content).
Bugs? There are bugs, I blame it on being inspired by Fallout series. It has to have bugs to feel like Fallout.
But to be fair there weren't that many. After some cutscenes/text adventures my character would drop his weapon. By the endgame I had to save and load two times because I couldn't enter locations. 1 minute fix, not a big problem. My biggest issue was with Polish translation constantly twisting genders of everyone (plus some misspells here and there).
Game breaking bugs? I found none.
Besides, it is slavjank, expect it to sound, look and behave like slavjank. It might put some people off, but I'm here for it.
Overall, the series has great writing, had me laughing plenty of times, and at others wonder at how sick humanity can be. Plenty of times my choice, seemingly positive, turned against me or others in an unexpected course of events. It felt impossible to play a plain good character, either you make some questionable choices or the fate will make you the bad guy at times. The setting does feel unique, with some retrofuturism reaching to slightly more modern machines than those found in Fallout, a bit of eastern spiritualism - at times mocked in the form of crazed cultists, at others you meet otherworldly creatures. I can feel a lot of different inspirations coming together into something of its own. This series had me immersed and interested in its grotesque ways of developing stories.
As for combat, it's almost the same as ATOM RPG, with some new features like weapon mods and a few new guns. Seems like this time the enemies are more plentiful on average, but the game is said to be balanced for importing your save from the first part as I did, so can't say how the experience looks on a fresh character. I would recommend playing the first one anyway, because this is basically expanding on the story of the first part. For me, the difficulty boiled down to getting decent guns and armor, and most importantly a good stack of ammunition. I expected this part to be more about dialogues than combat and tried to avoid fighting whenever I considered that more reasonable choice. If you import your save you don't really need to grind any XP, you should have done that in the first part already. Now just fine tune your build and focus on the story. (One tip - grenades are quite effective against robots, and you should have plenty by the time you encounter those, that was a difficult encounter for me if not for the explosives.)

MAJOR SIN: You can't adjust FPS. It's either uncapped which it is FROM STARTUP. Or V-sync 120. I had to go to my Nividia App, add the program/game from my desktop, and manually lower the FPS to 60 which it runs smoothly with no issues on. Why isn't this a menu option devs? Also the game has an EOS (End Of Service setup despite being an offline game)
This games unique. When i started playing i fell head over heals wanting to experiment with all the possibilities and class setups being a huge fan of Baldurs Gate, Divinity divine and original sin, Pathfinder, Rouge Trader, Old republic/knights, and Stalker call of pripyat. So with that i did vastly enjoy the level up, combat, skill mechanic, world setup, and dialogue despite the immense amount of reading. But what truly kills this game is that despite loving BG1 and 2 for the core gameplay and fact that you have to figure things out like where you're going and what you're doing. I figured this would be just as charming! GOD WAS I WRONG!! As someone with a life i get busy being unable to play for a day or to even a week at times for you this could be work, school, or family vacations. However, I've never had an issue figuring out where i left off and how to continue forth in any game before. Until this game. Despite how much i want to get back into it. I find myself stuck at a point of having to restart for any clarity if i don't want to follow a guide throughout the entirety of this and I've only just finished exploring all you can before the upper/rich parts of the main city you start by. Now normally I'd just throw on a guide to get through this part but every time i get to a portion where i can figure things out. There's a massive roadblock that suddenly falls in my way as in NOT A SINGLE QUEST MARKER OR INDICATION ON WHERE YOU NEED TO GO BESIDES A LOCATIONS NAME OR A PERSONS NAME. A side quest shouldn't be physically incompletable due to the fact that you don't know what to do!
Also to save everyone time and a struggle deciding.
If you're good at remembering every little detail and enjoy games that require you to read every little detail with an enjoyable turn-base combat and leveling system. This is your game!
If you're someone who also enjoys the above but respect your time. Then Avoid or be prepared to search google or every single area and building till you find the one person you need. So save your money and go buy one of the games i mentioned playing above for some real fun and smiles. Plus these games blatantly show respect towards the player without making you feel dumb or like it's trying to teach something to a child

Besides that the game has an amazingly intriguing story with references if you're a fan to STALKER and the original, along with an enjoyable turn-based mechanic that comes with it's own unique challenges. Now character customization needs some work since it's a seriously fugly assortment unless you like a rugged look ranging from viking to lunch lady to classic male stalker looks which are ok but will not and i mean in no shape or form match how your character actually looks besides 3. 2 male and 1 female primarily because of an available hair preset.

Edit: I've seen mention of a balance issue so i wanted to say something.
In the begining there's a forced tutorial of equipping your gear pretty much(pretty much because you can just break down the door). But with that you're geared for the tutorial battle of fighting 3 to 6 rats(for me there were 4 but google has given 7 different answers ranging from 3 to 6 and to no number but mention of the quest!?). With that depending on your build you could nearly loss this battle depending on if you start the battle by engaging 1 rat at a time like my second run or all at once where you can be left with a disease and low health like on my first run. With that i get that combat tutorial should cover healing in combat and actions. However, Trudograd does neither. You get thrown in with a pop up text and that's it. Leaving first time players possibly starting with low HP, a debilitating disease, and no healing items or way to cure it till you find the right expensive item or a doc. Then traveling can throw random encounters constantly at you no matter the distance ranging from 3 to 7 enemies. The biggest mission you'll get so far (at Grey Corner) is with a gang/crime boss where you're only option at the time is to side with the gangsters or fight around 10 heavily armed people with barely anything but a dude with a double barrel(the goons have lmgs), Unless you somehow got 45k or 30k with the right stats (speechcraft 288 or higher) for the "Special Armor" aka Power Armor. Then giving you a fighting chance health wise. You're screwed! Also there's your entrance to Grey Corner that has a group of junkies which is decently tough depending on your gear
Grey Corner is an area you shortly reach after you enter the city to the right of the starting inn. To get there go left then up right while traversing the city map which will be located a short jog to the right after entering the guarded gate/entrance.

Despite nearly 20 hours on the game validating my opinion. There will be a noticeable increase in time. I'm all for second chances and I want to love this game! However as it stands for your average gamer i can't recommend. There's too many little things that could have simple fixes for the game to be a 10/10. It's honestly a solid 6 which sucks that i can't give a neutral review or star rating of in the middle 3(all should go out of 6. 5 is dumb and by default brings it down to a 2 on account of there being no 2.5. Especially if you treat it as 1 trash, 2 ok, 3 enjoyed, 4 recommend, 5 amazing. Do you see where the neutral option lies?)

Прекрасная изометрическая пошаговая рпг, в целом игра отличная, но поддержу антирусофобное движение, так как разрабы допустили ошибку высказывая русофобию и отказ от своей кор аудитории, придурки что еще сказать.

Не понравилось только одно, ЗИМА. В АТОМе было лето красота краски на душе тепло. А в Трудограде серо-бело зима и холодно на душе.
