Fun game, owned it for several years and went back to it tonight. Some weird FPS issues going on. One minute running 180FPS (monitor max refresh) then tanking to 48FPS and slowing the game down a bit. Pressing ESC then using the mouse to hit resume mostly puts it back up, but shortly drops again. I guess this game is long out of development, but an endless survival mode would be nice.
Horizontal shoot 'em up where you mostly shoot asteroids, but not just that. The electro music soundtrack was mostly awesome and motivated me to continue playing. I thought the gamepad controls sucked when I had a lot of trouble avoiding projectiles, but it turns out they were extremely precise registering minute movements. I liked that the stats could be upgraded. Decent effort at a story, somewhat fun, with rough black and white pencils that were not horrible. The space backgrounds and rotating planet graphics were gorgeous. However, the planets weren't always spherical and seemed to lose their shape on the sides of the screen. No physics on the breaking asteroids, but the explosions were pretty. The enemy ships in between asteroid waves had way too few types. Also, later on, the levels got too long and overstayed their welcome. The experience surprisingly felt relaxing. If what I described appeals to you, get it for the chill vibes and music, to play in small sessions, not really for the challenge or gameplay.

This game has had problems with controllers for years, with no fix forthcoming. Sometimes it won't let you choose options on screen, and you'll have to use mouse & keyboard. Sometimes it won't detect your controller when starting up a new level, and it's about 50/50 as to whether it'll start doing so after a few seconds or not. Also, for whatever reason, the mouse controls are super floaty. When the controller works, your ship moves responsively like it should. But when using the mouse, your ship will move slower and lag behind your mouse movements a bit. It doesn't even make sense.

What an incredibly dull, lazily made game. You'll quickly notice the numerous typos and new line characters left in. Clearly nobody bothered to playtest or quality check this piece of shovelware. The actual gameplay is very, very, [b]very[/b] repetitive.
You have to destroy a set number of asteroids per level, with the amount and health of them increasing each time. They'll frequently spawn off screen and you can't shoot them. There are frequently visual issues and you can't destroy an asteroid without positioning yourself in a certain way.
Every five levels there is a boss fight - they're bullet sponges that have a couple bullet hell patterns. Their projectiles block yours which makes the fight needlessly longer. They at least offered a snippet of variety, but the [b]chore[/b] of doing the same level over and over again was not worth it.

3 major problems I ended up having with the game contributed to me not being able to recommend playing it, especially if you like trying to earn all achievements in the games you play.
1: Every level takes longer and longer to complete & with nothing new introduced past your 3 abilities, which are accessed pretty quick, the levels increasing in length just makes the whole game feel like it's dragging on.
2: Boss fights becoming annoying very quick since almost all of the bosses attacks block your shots, except your Death Ray ability.
3: The way to clear levels is by destroying a set amount of asteroids, the requirement increasing every level. The problem is when they spawn off screen to move to the playable area they collide with each other and, as a result, you only get to catch a glimpse of them floating on then off screen immediately at the top or bottom of the playable area, outside of where you can shoot. Thus contributing to the levels length dragging on.
I've spent a lot of time grinding out boring achievements in game, mostly X-Box before moving over to Steam, but this one is one of the more boring ones I've tried to do. Will I finish it, possibly, but with 3 Hrs at review time I still have 6 stages to go and at this rate feel they will take a few more hours alone to complete.
The game is not bad, just boring and repetitive. After the first boss fight you've seen everything it has on offer and each set of levels before each boss is a repeat, but longer, of the first 5.

Ponadto na platformie Steam od tych samych twórców znajdziemy zręcznościową platformówkę Cube Runner, całkiem udaną grę logiczną Neon Prism oraz dwie części logicznego Slash It w którym pobawimy się cyframi, literami i kształtami. Wszystkie dzieła od EGAMER to proste „arkadówki” za kilka czy kilkanaście złotych i mieszanymi opiniami. Nie inaczej jest z Asteroid Bounty Hunter.
Gra zaoferuje nam łącznie 25 poziomów z czego co piąty to walka z bossem. Przy rozpoczęciu każdego poziomu możemy wybrać stopień trudności od Easy przez Medium na Hard kończąc, a jakby wam było za łatwo to dodatkowo udostępniono modyfikatory - Bullet Hell i Bounty Hunter, które zwiększają odporność oraz ilość asteroid czy wrogich statków (tu: Bounty Hunters). Z wyjątkiem potyczek z bossami wszystkie poziomy mają określony limit asteroid, które należy rozbijać na mniejsze i kolekcjonować do momentu zdobycia wymaganej ilości. Wymóg co do ilości wzrasta wraz z odblokowaniem każdej następnej misji.
Podczas całej rozgrywki zyskujemy dostęp do ataku podstawowego, trzech specjalnych oraz tarczy energetycznej. Zdobywając tzw. „Upgrade Points” można każdy z ataków wraz z tarczą ulepszyć do 20 poziomu. Poza punktami ulepszeń mamy jeszcze punkty mistrzowskie. Te z kolei wydamy w zakładce Shipyard, gdzie poza podstawowym statkiem możemy odblokować (wraz z ilością rozegranych plansz i postępem) cztery kolejne, a wraz z nimi dokonać kolejnych usprawnień - cooldown umiejętności, wzrost zadawanych obrażeń czy wreszcie wzmocnienie obrony, czyli wspomnianą już wcześniej tarczę. Ostatnie z wymienionych usprawnień inaczej, niż umiejętności specjalne nie mają odgórnego limitu, co do poziomu.
Asteroid Bounty Hunters oferuje przyjemną rozgrywkę urozmaiconą powyższymi opcjami, jednocześnie jednak dość szybko doświadczymy tu powtarzalności i monotonii bo ta przyjemna rozgrywka nie oferuje niczego więcej ponad to, co zobaczymy już na samym początku. Ogólny odbiór gry może być jak najbardziej pozytywny o ile ABH potraktujemy jako chwilową rozrywkę - półgodzinną zabawę dwa razy w tygodniu w przerwie na bardziej "konkretną" produkcję.
A pesar de su estética descuidada y nada atractiva para la vista, el juego está bastante bien, consta de varios niveles y en cada uno tienes una misión y básicamente debes moverte esquivando enemigos y los propios asteroides mientras completas el objetivo, la dificultad va escalando y es acumulativa, me explico, si en nivel 2 por ejemplo te sale una alerta que dice que los asteroides tienen un x2 de durabilidad y se acaba el nivel en el nivel 3 o 4 te saldrá un x3 y así sucesivamente, y no lo veo mal ya que de esa forma haces un escalado de dificultad real dentro del juego.
Y poco más es ir jugando cada misión hasta completar el objetivo y pasar a la siguiente, ah y tambien vas desbloqueando diferentes habilidades conforme vas jugando.

Simple 2D sidescrolling asteroid shooter. Fun casual gameplay and a lot of levels and 4 bosses. Lot's of grind, but manageable. Has a story and cutscenes which are NOT why you should by this game (AKA they're pretty bad lol). Otherwise will keep you entertained.

Asteroid Bounty Hunter ist ein simpler Weltraum-Shooter, bei dem man ziemlich schnell merkt: Es bleibt eigentlich immer das Gleiche.
Asteroiden zerlegen, wieder und wieder wer Abwechslung sucht, sollte vielleicht besser nicht die Sauerstoffflasche einpacken.
Die Achievements sind zwar easy, aber trotzdem erstaunlich nervig: Man klickt sie mehr aus Pflichtgefühl frei, als dass man sich darüber freut.
Fazit: Solides Dauer-Feuer für zwischendurch, wenn man einfach mal ein paar Steine im All pulverisieren will aber wer viel Abwechslung erwartet, fliegt hier nach ein paar Runden auf Autopilot.

Let’s start with the positives first - the solid story with the right amount of sarcasm, refreshing idea of destroying asteroids, many available upgrades for your ship, optional level of difficulty for each level, optional game modes, responsive and easy controls, beautiful graphics and effects, nice ambient music along with option to use your own music, good voice acting. Now let’s get to the things I dislike about the game - low number of enemy types, tiresome boss battles, strange system of unlocking new ships and early stereotype due to repeating the same activities again and again in each level. The game like this would deserve a local multiplayer that would definitely make it more suitable and enjoyable for family playing. Asteroid Bounty Hunter is arguably the most brain-dead grind-fest of a space shoot-em-up ever created. Featuring cringe cutscenes, a nagging wife of a navigator, basic graphics that are often indistinguishable from the background, and possibly the most boring gameplay in the history of video games. Every level is exactly the same as the one before but longer because you have to destroy more asteroids and everything gets more HP. There are no power ups or abilities to unlock and no progression whatsoever. Any upgrade points you get that increase ship damage are immediately nullified by enemies getting more HP in the next level, so you never actually feel like you are getting stronger. Increasing difficulty gives everything even more HP, turning enemies into bullet sponges. Luckily, there is no incentive to play on higher difficulty levels so you can just "breeze through" on Easy. And I put that in quotes because it takes hours to grind through the 25 or so levels. Honestly, with a job like this, the protagonist's alcoholism is entirely excusable.
If you ask only for 2D thoughtless mayhem, this is it.

for $1 id say it could be worth your time. theres probably a better game you could spend your money on thats similar, but its not bad for the price. the gameplay is like somewhat fun.

Not a bad game at all. Nice particle effects combined with the atmospheric background. The option to increase the difficulty in return for faster levelling is nice to have if you want to challenge yourself. Was a huge grind to Player Level 250. Would have been nice to have the option to spend additional credits from bounty hunters, once you pass the cap point to make the grind more fun and worthwhile.

Jeu plutot amusant, il y a une histoire qui, meme si j'men balek, peut etre interessante. Les niveaux sont a un bon niveau, ni trop dur, ni trop simple, les challenges (bullet hell, etc...) sont amusants et donnent un reel défi au jeu. De plus, on voit une reelle avancée entre les niveaux, entre le lore et les armes qu'on débloque. Aussi, on peut améliorer nos vaisseaux dans le menu, ce qui est un point positif. Il est vrai que le jeu n'est pas très beau, cependant, il reste très amusant et plus beau qu'un space invader en 8-bit. Je recommande.

Even at 90% off it's overpriced, on the hardest difficulty it's just no challenge and boring same thing every level just do it more. Very poorly optimised running too. Played 20 minutes got to first boss even on hardest difficulty, got bored sat idling for the rest of the card drops and uninstalled.
Very flexibile difficulty, 5 boss levels, visuals are pleasing enough - a solid little bullet hell with much grind and incremental power increase.
It's worth 1-3 USD. Not so much the 11 USD base price.

Cóż mogę powiedzieć o Asteroid Bounty Hunter to niewciągająca i słabo wykonana gra zręcznościowa, która z pewnością niezadowoli fanów klasycznych gier z lat 80-tych i 90-tych. Ale ma w sobie coś tak zwanego ducha minionej epoki .

Honestly ive only played the game in between queue timers.
Didnt have to think too much to finish the game and i didnt even bother to listen to the story BUT i admit i enjoyed myself blasting brainless at asteroids or the occasional bounty hunter ( i still do not get why asteroid destroyers have bounties on their heads but the story might explain why)

Не самый лучший, но и не самый худший представитель своего жанра. Это обычный, без всяких изысков, горизонтальный скролл-шутер. Бороздите просторы космоса и уничтожаете всё, что попадётся на вашем пути. От астероидов до вражеских супостатов. Даже сюжет имеется, который подаётся в виде комикса. Каждая миссия условно разбита на этапы. Сначала будете сбивать астероиды на своём пути, а потом к ним присоединяются вражеские звездолёты. Ваша задача в каждом этапе уничтожить определённое количество объектов. После того как миссия будет выполнена, вас будет ждать босс-файт. Таким же образом проходятся и другие миссии. Перед каждым же этапом вы можете поменять уровень сложности (поставить режим буллет-хелл или ограничить возможности своих орудий) и проапгрейдить свой звездолёт.
В общем, это абсолютно проходной продукт, который не обязателен для ознакомления. Я бы оставил даже палец вверх, ибо ужасной игру не назовёшь. Но вот ценник в 787 рублей? Серьёзно?
