every fan of character action games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta needs to play this. For a game with a seemingly small budget and staff there is a lot of depth to the combat. The enemy variety is also very good and there wasn't a single enemy type I found frustrating to fight... which is kind of rare for these games. The story is not that deep but the character writing and humor make up for it. The cast is very entertaining and memorable, with good voice acting and unique designs for each of them. I really enjoyed this game and I hope more people play it!

如果说鬼泣5的核心是为空战服务的连段，魔女的核心是为连段服务的时缓和offset，那AS男主的核心就是空连和增加乐趣的FS。从这点来看AS不仅做到了上高下低还做到了新颖有趣，属实符合t0名声。
不过贫穷的制作白瞎了优秀的美术设计，而不错的角色设计和台词节奏的背后竟然是史一样的故事架构？！
并且女主部分完全拉低了整体的水平。先不说换皮再把整个流程走一遍，台词节奏和水平急转直下，简直是工业垃圾。故事大纲貌似要和本体凑一个碟中谍的意思，但是写到一半编不下去干脆就随便换皮的感觉。女主动作系统相比男主平庸至极，不仅是堆料不够，无聊得让我都没有打下去得欲望，让我怀疑男主的优秀手感是否仅来自于鬼泣的遗产而不是作者的才华。
这个价格配上这个制作，其实是不推荐，无奈长板太长了。
Fun action game
Assault Spy's an excellent game, but there are many problems preventing it from being great.
The first and foremost is the lock on, which doesn't prioritize enemies closest to the player. It's not uncommon to lock on to an enemy on the far side of the room with many obstructions between the player and enemy. It's by far the worst lock on I've ever experienced in an action game.
Secondly, Asaru's skills "Straight" and Straight Down" should have had their windows broadened. They both require absolute precision and nothing less. If they were made tight for balancing, then there's a serious discrepancy between their windows and Amelia's block and counter, which is far, far more generous and breaks the game easily by comparison. They are mobility skills and should be adjusted to reflect as such.
What makes Assault Spy excellent is it's combat. The three fundamentals of combat are made up of: buffered attacks, just attacks and cancels. The fun is found in discovering and experimenting with the launchers, knockback, catchers, pull-ins and incorporating them into combos.
Combat is further expanded on with character switching and tag combos unlocked in Amelia's side of the game. It opens up a whole host of new possibilities and experimenting, and the game offers a training room "The Dojo" in order to do just that.
Other features include button rebinding. It is an option I made full use of because the default controls weren't to my preference.
There's a boss rush mode unlocked after completing the game and Death March, which is essentially Bloody Palace.
Despite the terrible lock-on, the game was created by somebody that's well acquainted with action games and knew what they were doing.
Assault Spy is a definite must have for action game fans and ethusiasts.

El juego es bueno: es un hack and slash y cumple con lo que promete desde el principio hasta el final. Los escenarios son básicos y los enemigos simples, pero esto se compensa con un estilo de juego rápido, jefes con personalidad, una gran variedad de combos y personajes con un diseño y estilo geniales.
La historia es sencilla y no profundiza demasiado, aunque tampoco lo necesita, ya que al final del día eres un espía. Los personajes femeninos son excelentes y, como mencioné anteriormente, tanto los enemigos como los aliados están bien diseñados, dando la sensación de que su vestimenta está inspirada en la moda para definir su estética.
En pocas palabras: 10/10.
A Indie CAG that punches above its weight. its beginning is detrimentally slow and restrictive, and its odd controls never did feel natural, it still was an excellent game that doesn't outstay its welcome.

Dirt cheap price on sale - but feelings are priceless. Little slow at start, but as straightforward as possible (let's have an intimate connection with backtracking in dmc4).

You are forced to play with one control layout. The default mapping for light attack is B and heavy attack is Y. The grapple button is light attack + heavy attack. If you are the kind of person who plays with X as light attack and Y as heavy attack, you can not press both of them at the same time to grapple.

多提一嘴，敌人有这样的设计：瞬移霸体出刀，瞬移霸体脱离，瞬移霸体当身，瞬移霸体瞬移；瞬移霸体引力波，瞬移霸体斥力波，瞬移霸体扔垃圾，瞬移霸体砸你。
幽默敌人设计和战点设计完全拖累了这个游戏的游玩体验，可以说在没有攻略的情况下，高难度中后期所有战点和BOSS都是屎设计，好在朝流的性能足够强。这也是很多日式动作游戏的问题：用很强的自机性能去掩盖设计者的无能，贝姐忍龙鬼泣一如是。（忍龙的可能不能叫强）
此外整个游戏的光效和判定都是各自独立的，实际高手！
反正社区会自己开发打法的嘛，设计师想不出来的解玩家会想出来的。再之后，喷设计的就是你自己不会玩咯

The platforming doesn’t add anything, and the camera can be awkward at times. Visually it looks a bit dated, but the personality and energy make up for it. A few more character variations would have helped, but Assault Spy remains a fun, fast brawler that shines most when you’re right in the middle of a boss fight.

I always found the concept of character actions games pretty cool but I had never taken the time to play on of them. And boy, what an introduction to the genre! The moveset of the main character Asaru is so freaking cool and stylish! Everything is and feel so smooth.
The fact that all of this was made by just one person is both impressive and inspiring!

It is well executed CAG game, if a little too reliant on DMC moveset. Pleasant to play with a great setting and characters. I recommend it.
However it is also big missed opportunity in making a game that respects players with legacy skill. The game's difficulty one should have been able to crank up way faster. The first two difficulties are a slog. The skill shop in these games feels like dates design at this point. I would be okay with it if at least you could start at higher difficulties with a credit multiplayer or something. Point is: if you have a legacy skill you need to be playing around for about 3 hours to get to the actual game and that is embarrassing that you have to do that in an indie game. One would hope that a niche title like this one would alleviate this mundaneness for skilled players.
Alas it is even worse, because when you decide you want to start playing with the second character you have to build it up from start and from 'normal' difficulty... This structure is baffling. I hope that in the upcoming game from this developer they will allow players to get to the great parts of their games faster.
É um bom jogo, deveria ser mais recomendado pela steam, achei esse jogo em recomendações no Youtube e nunca sequer tinha visto ele antes.
A historia é bem qualquer coisa, não é nenhuma obra de arte, mas ao menos te diverte e te faz dar risada, o tom é bem leve e foca no humor, os personagens são carismaticos e apesar de não ter praticamente nenhuma cutscene, as artes que tem pra mostrar o que esta acontecendo são bem bonitinhas, mesmo claramente não sendo o foco completo do jogo.
A gameplay é a melhor parte pra se falar, tem dois personagens jogaveis e eles são bem variados, tem algumas coisinhas que eles compartilham entre si sim, mas a gameplay é completamente diferente. Pra quem ja tem bagaguem com hack n slash e manja muito, talvez ache muito facil, nem chega perto da complexidade de um dmc5 (só exemplo), não espere algo assim, é claramente um escopo muito menor, isso não é um demerito do jogo e não torna ele menos divertido, ainda é bem satisfatorio conseguir fazer os combos.
Agora, apesar de ter sido feito por poucas pessoas, tem algumas coisas que realmente podiam ser melhores. Primeiro a camera, ela não atrapalha a sua visão em si ou fica entrando dentro das paredes, o problema da camera é que nos combates quando você tenta lockar a mira em algum inimigo, quase sempre vai mirar no que estiver mais longe, por algum motivo quase sempre o jogo apenas ignora o inimigo que esta do seu lado e mira no inimigo mais distante possivel,e mesmo quando você joga sem lockar em nenhum inimigo, a camera parece que "grupa" em algum inimigo aleatorio da sala e mesmo quando você tenta virar parece que tem um imã que fica puxando a camera de volta pro inimigo que ela escolheu (que na maioria dos casos é um inimigo muito longe)
Outro ponto negativo são justamente os inimigos, a variedade deles é bem pouca, e eu não ia julgar isso como um problema por ser um estudio pequeno, o problema é que SEMPRE tem inimgos que o ataque deles é de projetil, tudo bem que tem um pouco de foco na esquiva também, mas os inimigos atiram sem parar de todos os lados, e tem momentos que você fica preso em alguma animação sem poder desviar, realmente podiam ter dado uma diminuida nesse aspecto
Recomendo mesmo com esses erros pois ainda é bem divertido, mesmo pra quem não costuma ser muito bom em hack n slash ou simplesmente nunca jogou nada do genero
Short and brilliantly sweet - Assault Spy is a masterclass in character action game design, constructed by someone who obviously has a chokingly intimate knowledge of Devil May Cry and its successors, which Assault Spy is now apart of. It's a damn good entry into character action game space, and rewards legacy-skill among veterans of the genre. The combat is so ahead of the curve of every other game I've played in the past five years, there are, without exaggeration, endless combinations you can use on enemies - so please, after you're done get to the dojo and get theory crafting.
While being all too familiar to the rest of the genre, Assault Spy also has something I don't think I've seen in these types of games ever: the ability to switch on the fly between its two characters. This is creates an ocean of skill density for the player, freaking Marvel vs Capcom combos in a Devil-May-Cry like. Who could imagine!?
You think I can tell you what's going on with the story? NOPE! I just know you're playing as a kick ass salary-man from Japan and an FBI agent from America. It's pretty sad too, because the voice acting is so great, but gets overshadowed by its amazing gameplay. I really hope the people who voiced these roles get some work where their talent will shine more than gameplay they're apart of.
Almost every single move in the game is able to be canceled into another combo, with very little restrictions, if there is a restriction it more than likely results in a massive payout like high levels of damage or getting some breathing room. Which you'll need, this game has mountains of enemies shooting projectile weapons at you to the point you're playing a game that is in part a bit of a bullet hell, but if you ask me is just a design that requires a bit of crowd management.
The bosses, as few as they are, are pretty great, but simple. I never failed one after more than one try, and if you know what you're doing you'll consider most of them punching bags. If you do however struggle with them, just wait out their attack animations to strike them down, most bosses only have at max 4 attacks anyway.
Overall if you are a hardcore fan of the likes of Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, I absolutely recommend this game at full price - if you're not, please get it on sale, and I truly do mean that. This game is nothing but amazing combat, linear levels, no puzzles, just a slaughter-simulator. . . WITH one exception that I have to talk about.
Three-quarters into the game, your primary weapon is taken away and you are forced into a, admittedly brief, stealth section. This is by far the hardest section of the entire game - because nothing in the game has prepared you for this and it comes out of nowhere. I cannot beg devs in this genre enough: stop doing this. Nobody plays Devil May Cry for the puzzles. Nobody plays Ninja Gaiden for the swimming, Nobody plays God of War for the platforming. Nobody plays Sekiro for the damn dissapearing-monkey-boss fight. Why does this continue to happen? Why are action games overtaken with such padding? This is not a feature advertised at all and it destroys the high you have facing down enemies and mastering combos. There is nothing proactive about this at all.
Was this put into the game to make the player relax after such hectic boss fights? Well, that failed. Because I was more stressed than playing any other part of this game from a ten minute stealth section, because I knew my progress would be reset and I would once again, be delayed from actually playing the game. Make no mistake - the stealth section is not apart of Assault Spy, and should not be apart of it. I will say this until the day I die: any part of a character action game that is not killing enemies, or on your way to kill more enemies, is a waste of player time, developer time, player money, and developer money. It's just that simple. If you're worried players will be bored and find your combat repetitive, then simply put the time you would put into putting a puzzle or stealth section in the game - into giving the game more combat more depth.
What's particularly interesting is Assault Spy didn't even need this became the game has virtually infinite depth. It's a waste of everyone's time. Still, if you can get past that - you can easily beat this in one sitting, and get right back to playing it again.

An action game in the vein of Devil May Cry. This was a really quality experience.
The combat moves and techniques are something you can really sink your time into and the effects are nice. The MC feels kinda like Vergil from DMC with the just timing moves. The secondary player character has a lot of one hit big damage moves.
The level design is pretty linear which I felt was actually to the game's benefit to not really focus on anything besides combat.
My main issue is with the enemies because while I do like how they're designed, I don't like how the ranged enemies are the common ones. The problem with ranged enemies is that they can hit you from anywhere which disincentives air combos. The main reason you do air combos in other games is that other enemies can't really interfere in the air but with these enemies there is no reason to leave the ground.
I enjoyed the story but it is very much filled with anime cliches which might not appeal to everyone.

アクションゲーム好きがつくったんだなってことがよくわかるゲーム
基本の骨子はデビルメイクライなどのスタイリッシュなアクションゲームだが、あちらとちがい操作コマンドはかなり簡単なものになっている。突進攻撃をダッシュ→攻撃ボタンで実装しているのでかなりわかりやすい。
またこのダッシュが回避、キャンセル性能がバリ高いので適当にこすってるだけでもなんかかっこいいかんじになる。
個人的に好きなのはダメージが基本的にどれも一律で1ダメージで、3〜5（難易度で異なる）ダメージうけたらゲームオーバーなこと。このタイプのゲームは最終的にノーダメクリアを目的にするので潔いと思った。ゲームオーバーしてもチェックポイントから復帰なのでそのつもりがなくてもやりやすいと思う。
ストーリーもぶっ飛んでる割にわかりやすいので気にする人も気にしない人も好きになれると思う

Fun Game!
Initially, I wasn't to into the game because I just wasn't feeling the gameplay with Asaru. While I liked the whole businessman aesthetic, I never really connected with him, he felt like he was a clunky character to get used to. Once I beat the game with him I was indifferent on the whole experience. And then I played Amelia, and she was honestly a breath of fresh air. Her electrical attacks deal great damage and have great range, her combos have a much better flow to get into and lead into each other well, and her parry made me cruise through the game. I would honestly say to just skip to Amelia when you can because she feels like a much more complete character, with the added benefit of a story mode that is much more interesting.
Its also worth mentioning the game is still pretty buggy. There were a lot of times when the game just decided to go slow mo for the entirety of a fight for no real reason. Sometimes duplicate character portraits would just show up in the background. And the targeting system has a tendency to fly off and target another enemy, causing you to drop a combo or eat an attack.
Thankfully, the game is short either way, but its a tale of a first half I wasn't into and a second half I found really good.
Great take on the CAG / Hack and Slash genre. Lots of room for skill expression and the length is short enough to be replayed multiple times. The only thing that's I'll knock it for is a forced stealth section (skippable after the first time).
for a low budget and simplified game it was really good , the gameplay is like DMC and they did it right, the story is pretty much just okay nothing too serious but it has fun the dialogues and fun characters, i can see myself playing it more.

Fun, Short and Well Executed.
Assault Spy is a DMC style spectacle fighter that has heart and charm. It's nothing mind breaking but what is there works and works well. The combat is great and the more moves you unlock, the more fantastic it becomes, allowing you to chain longer combos for deadlier effect or even offering different styles of combat that suits your preference.
The game has a lot of heart and charm with its writing and character, I absolutely enjoyed the humor and character interactions. The overall campaign will take you just under 10 hours with there being 2 playable characters that offer different sides of the story.
The game itself has additional game modes that i've yet to fully unlock but you will definitely get just above the 10 hour mark with all the available game modes offered.
If you're a fan of DMC style game or just looking for a quick adventure game that'll certainly make you smile while also providing ample challenge, look no further than Assault Spy.

PROS
+ Very impressive being made by a single person, always commendable. Super excited for Wazen's next game considering it seems he got some help on it.
+ Combat is so smooth. Asaru and Amelia have great toolkits and feel incredible to play as. My only complaints are that some moves can be a bit too easy to spam, like the weird teleport kick Amelia has.
+ Very beginner friendly hack and slash. Not super difficult but even as someone decent at the genre I still felt challenged in the later parts of the game. I've not finished the higher difficulties but I imagine those are more fun.
+ Soundtrack is good, but unmemorable usually. Mostly just there to be there but it's occasionally pretty good.
+ Bosses and enemies are usually pretty fun for the most part, especially the camera-headed businessmen, they're shockingly difficult to take down.
CONS
- This game doesn't look awful, but you can tell it was made by a single guy because it doesn't look stunning.
- I did not laugh a single time. This game's writing and especially comedy is an absolute joke. It's not trying to take itself seriously, which is fine, but then the comedy is this 2010s anime "mY sIdEkIcK iS sO aNnOyInG" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that was never funny once throughout the game's entire runtime, that or Asaru being horny. It's generic trite I've seen so many times before in anime and no, I wasn't joking when I said I didn't laugh once.
- The previous con is not helped by the Japanese dub being kind of annoying on my ears, which is more subjective, I'm sure the dub is probably fine, but Kanoko's voice was absolutely grating. Do not play this game with voices on, I beg of you.
- Held together by duct tape and a dream. This game feels like it's gonna fall apart any second.
- Some bosses are a joke. Kazama is genuinely pathetically easy and the final boss of Amelia's story is over before it starts.
OVERALL
Genuinely a criminally underrated hack and slash. More people need to play this game, go recommend it to your friends and go play it yourself. I need more people to understand how awesome this game is.

Pretty good game, mostly for fans of DMC3 and 4. Both playable characters have a lot different moves and play quite differently from each other. I wish the game was longer, there was more enemy variety . . . and that I could take the story seriously.

Um dos melhores jogos de luta que joguei recentemente, ele oferece tudo que jogos atuais deveriam investir mais que seria uma estilo de luta mais rápido e dinâmico, Os personagens tem suas próprias personalidades, provavelmente vai ser o que vai manter você do inicio ao final, pois as interações do Asumi E Kuroko realmente foram muitos divertidas, apesar do jogo se resumir em entrar em salas e espancar robos ksksk, os bosses foram realmente divertidos de lutar contra, por apresentarem um estilo diferente do habitual E ainda tem tradução para PT-BR, o que já ganha meu coração.
Quase esqueci de citar, a grande variedade de combos que esse jogo possui, são realmente vários desde os aéreos aos terrestre, eu realmente não escapei do básico praticamente, pois tenho a incapacidade de decorar combos exatamente calculados em vez de faze-los na hora :).
A história é bem simplês, Você é um espião da CIA e vai coletar dados da empresa de segurança Negabot com sua parceiro "MUITO ÚTIL", que acabam caindo em uma cilada e decidem derrubar os Vilões enquanto coletam mais dados com o passar dos andares e salvar as pessoas.
No geral, é um jogo super divertido de passar o tempo, essas histórias simples baseadas apenas nos personagens buscando completar a missões e o combate rápido me fizeram gostar muito do jogo, só desisti da platina por que mesmo gostando muito, não tenho a capacidade de lutar por 50 andares de robôs e no outro modo derrotar 100 chefes(2 por andar), então é isso.

Assault Spy is a spectacle fighter that's a little rough around the edges but that's worth a play for anyone interested in the genre.
It's sometimes funny, silly, goofy, and has frequently annoying characters, but it's really fun to play and deeper than it looks.

After 400 hours in DMC, this is the only other game to scratch that itch.
SUPER fun character-action game. Asaru and Amelia have VERY different play-styles which gives you two completely different experiences. Story is very goofy and anime which I'm super into. It's definitely a good time if you're into Devil May Cry/Bayonetta/Ninja Gaiden etc.

Combat is really fun, scratches that type of gameplay for me, combos are satisfying and it's overall a short experience for a casual playthrough, but beware as there is a bunch of JANK, from the lock on system that has a mind of it's own to movement being very slippery and it overall being not such a polished experience, but from what I've read online, it was made by one guy so It's understandable some bits weren't ironed out.
Most of the enemy variety consists of a dude with a gun that shoots energy balls, or a laser... or a homing rocket... not much differences and it can get to a point where it can get overwhelming but at least your summon takes the heat off you for a bit.
Story wise, it's ok and some of the voice lines can get annoying but again, the combat carries, especially the extra move you get at the end of the game that makes the combat even MORE fun.
I would get in on sale, and go through it on a lazy sunday but if you want to fully complete it, get ready to fight the jank.
