J'ai vraiment adoré jouer à ce jeux pour ses énigmes, son design, sa DA, son histoire et sa musique. Les énigmes étaient très chouette. Je me suis juste un peu cassée les dents sur la dernière car malgré mon déchiffrage, je trouve que la mise en avant des solutions n'étaient pas assez clair. (je ne peux pas être plus précise sans spoiler).

This game was so fulfilling for how mediocre it can be. Kind of wish the game had more cutscenes or jokes or little doodads to mess around with occupying in-between the substance of the game as for large swaths of the experience fail to leave an impression on me.

Do not get me wrong however, the parts of Armikrog that are good, are GOOD. However the 2d slideshow cutscenes got tiresome and didn't really add up till the end where, spoilers?, you get the ability to understand the made up language they use and you the player get to hear them in English.

I was able to finish the game blind by myself and had about 1 really satisfying "aha" moment. There was one penultimate puzzle that requires you to backtrack through the game to get and I could see someone missing the most important hint, but I really appreciated how that puzzle intergrated into the larger world building.

I would definitely say that this is more of a game you play for the environments and the experience over the gameplay. The world of Amikrog feels small at first but as you play it there is a suggestion of a bigger planet outside of the play space that I think really works.

The character writing could have served to been stronger, I do really Tommynaut and Beak Beak's more serious and professional relationship, most other duos tend to stray away to more goofy or antagonistic relationships, but we don't get many opportunities to feel their bond and get an idea of why they are so close. The original residents of Armikrog are shown more in a factual telling of past events yet in spite of this their plight makes them endearing in spite of them not getting much characterization.

Reasonable game, really glad I gave it a try in spite of mixed reviews, would heavily suggest it when on sale for 2 dollars.

Игра, сделанная теми же людьми, что и легендарный Neverhood, но уже за деньги Кикстартеров. Как и первая часть - она шикарная!

Разве что короткой получилась игра. Явно было видно, что упор сделан на качество и анимацию. Жаль, что продолжение хотя бы этой Альтернативы НЕВЕРь в ХУДо может не быть, учитывая сколько лет этому творению исполнилось. Хотелось бы больше раскрытия мира.

Сложность прохождения: Нормально

Оценка: 9,5/10

P.s. Некоторые моменты без руководства трудно пройти. И дело не в сложности головоломок, а в отсутствии до конца проработанной локализации на русский язык (что тоже можно достать только через руководство в Стиме).

So, I wish that steam had a "Maybe" option instead of recommending or not recommending this game. I feel mixed because I enjoyed aspects of this game and hated aspects of this game. I should maybe say that I've never played Neverhood, so my take on the game is not based on any pre-expectations. It was recommended to me by a friend since I play a lot of point and click adventure games.

Why I would recommend it:
The game looks super neat! If you are an artsy person that enjoys neat and refreshing graphic implementations in video games the claymation aspect of this game will definitely hit that sweet spot of "Oh, this is cool". The voice acting is good, and the little dog character's animation is particularly delightful. The game is also very short (only took a little over 3 hours for me to complete it).

Why I would not recommend it:
This game can be extremely frustrating for several reasons.
The game is glitchy and the interactions do not consistently trigger. There's often a weird waiting time between taking an action and something actually happening as a result of the action you took. There is a particular repeated puzzle that involves sorting plush toys and it takes a painful eternity for it to actually do the sequence it needs to do to verify if you got it right or not. I often played games on my phone while this puzzle was doing the "check if you're correct" part because it was so horribly slow.

Many of the puzzles are not intuitive, and in at least one case i brute forced a puzzle because I couldn't find the solution, only to discover that the solution to the puzzle was located in the area you were only able to get to AFTER you solved the puzzle. Other puzzles are so simple a toddler could figure them out.

This game has a lot of obnoxious back tracking between screens for silly things like needing to hit a trigger point multiple times to get something aligned but the thing you're aligning is on a completely different screen than the trigger point.

The story is a bit lackluster, but not the worst.

TLDR:
If you're really into point-and-click adventure games and also really into neat artsy little projects you may enjoy this for the cool claymation and neat scenery.

If you think you're going to be horribly frustrated by the puzzles not being intuitive, having to brute force puzzles because there's no clues for some solutions, glitchiness, and obnoxious backtracking and slowness of puzzles to resolve themselves, maybe pass on this.

From my standpoint the game doesn't deserve so many negative reviews. There are many fun moments, especially with Beak-Beak, I really enjoyed the whole story and riddles. Really nostalgic if you remember the Neverhood but overall quite different vibe.

Рофлян тут почти нет, загадки ещё душнее и порой непонятные (особенно предпоследняя, без гайда не обошлось)
Персы интересные и в целом есть интерес к сюжету, Тэрри Скотт Тейлор написал не такой запоминающийся но отличный саундтрек к игре

От игры из пластилина, созданной теми же людьми, которые делали запоминающийся и для кого-то культовый Неверхуд, ждёшь хорошего уровня.
На деле же получаешь забагованную игру (в любой момент у вас может пропасть музыка, курсор или персонаж не захочет двигаться), так себе загадки (некоторые очень простые, а некоторые - просто шиза, решающаяся по фиг пойми какой логике; лично меня сломала головоломка с игрушками младенца) и довольно короткая продолжительность (возникает впечатление, что просто выпустили один из Эпизодов Клэймена, который так и остался недоделанным черновиком).
Единственный плюс игры - пластилиновая анимация. Но вряд ли даже он перевешивает все минусы. И в целом неудивительно, что игра вышла, мало кто обратил на неё внимание (кроме фанатов и спонсоров на Кикстартере) и так же молчаливо провалилась. Как раз то чувство, когда громадные ожидания оказываются пшиком.

P.S. После того, как игра проебала мои сохранения и откинула в прогрессе на час назад, я с ненавистью её дропнул и возвращаться не буду. Так что имейте ввиду, что она сохраняет как ей самой вздумается или не сохраняет вовсе. Что ещё раз подтверждает, что игру выкинули сырой и по состоянию как из раннего доступа.

НИКОМУ НЕ РЕКОМЕНДУЮ, лучше и быстрее - посмотреть прохождение на Ютубе.

P.p.s. Возможно вы скажете, что у меня шизофрения, ведь я купил эту игру ещё и для второго своего аккаунта. Но я сделал это только из-за крутого саундтрека, который можно (и НУЖНО) слушать отдельно от игры. Заглавная тема вообще сразу попадает в мой трек - лист.
Но дело в том, что саундтрек отдельно не купить! Всё в духе рукожопости самой игры.

This is not The Neverhood, but it *is* a good game, and if you played The Neverhood, it will probably make you want to play The Neverhood right after. Armikrog is more like The Neverhood than Skullmonkeys, especially in it's more puzzle-focused gameplay, but it has some voice-over work and non-claymation animation that may bother folks with major nostalgia for the *specific* style of The Neverhood.

THERE. That's the old-fan take out of the way.

What is this game? It's a trip with puzzles in it. The puzzles are good, the trip is focused on family, and the idea of the home as a fortress that can become a trap when it's sanctity is broken. Sometimes it's funny, but the themes almost made it difficult for me to laugh as I played, it felt like being out-of-touch with the stakes of the story to take it lightly, even though it was being lighthearted often.

The difficulty of the puzzles varies a lot, but that's pretty normal for games in the Neverhood "series", I think it's worth playing through to the end despite the difficulty. If you like it, remember to tell people not to give up on Claymation OR goofy story-telling as art-forms!

Actually a nice little adventure game undeserving of a lot of hate & negativity it's received.

The atmosphere and presentation are phenomenal and unique, the game's world is fascinating to explore and has a strong sense of mystery and "the unknown" to it.

Puzzles could've been way better but I've played many, many adventure games with far worse and the puzzles are for the most part at least integrated nicely into the world (which is rarely seen in the adventure genre past the 90's and early 2000's) but a lil downer is that sometimes there's repetition between puzzle types, some are re-used but with more complexity added to them later in the game.

OST is nothing special, unlike the Neverhood's masterpiece, but at least serves its purpose I guess, it does have a few fairly nice tracks though but overall the OST is very forgettable. No songs about someone putting tomaties and potaties and peas in their pants and doing a lil dance here, sadly.

Story I didn't follow at all, I think that could've been done a lot better but the good thing is that, like The Neverhood, 95% of the story is told through the environment so it not being on par with Neverhood's doesn't interfere with the immersion of being in some weird alien world, but I just felt that what was there could've been done with more finesse.

Overall a solid albeit very short game, tho I didn't feel it needed to go on much longer in its current structure and sure it didn't fill Neverhood's shoes but that's because it simply couldn't. Neverhood's development had backing from the likes of Steven Spielberg and Bill Gates to showcase artistic & technological capabilities of the medium at the time to the world so the developers had access to cutting edge technology, dedicated studio space to build Neverhood's sets in and they had the professional talents of many other people at their disposal.

I get the disappointment that it wasn't Neverhood but I really do think that they delivered the best they could've here all things considered. Something on par with what people expected Armikrog to be would've probably cost around 30 - 40 times its budget and that's a very liberal estimation.

Игра своих денег стоит . Я её приобрёл за 75 рублей по скидке . Игру можно проходить часами , как и первую часть NeverHood . Armikrog заставляет проходить игру путём размышления , любопытства . Поиграйте в первую часть - NeverHood и тогда вы поймёте всю историю игры . Игра затягивающая своей пластилиновой атмосферой . Можете в неё сыграть чисто из за любопытства , надеюсь вы не бросите прохождение на первых минутах игры . Всем желаю удачи в прохождении !

It's short and glitchy but, all the same, I loved Armikrog. Save frequently and it's salvageable. Tommy and Beak-Beak are a pair of lovable guys, it's a brand new world of klay to stomp around in and Uncle Terry delivered another round of bangers that were a dreamier, more melancholic twist on his Imaginarium. The puzzles gave just enough resistance for this to be an enjoyable play-through with my kids without getting bogged. It became a household classic.

Fans that expected to be Raptured back to The Neverhood were disappointed, and that's understandable. I don't know how you could hope to repeat the success of an implausible cult classic like that this side of the millennium, without Spielberg money, in a hostile Culture Wars climate with the same labour-intensive stop-motion. Really Armikrog's a game that shouldn't exist and wouldn't were it not for the love of Doug TenNapel. Personally, I'm hugely grateful it does. It's an echo of Doug's magnum opus, which is still out there, floating safely in the darkness of abandonware obscurity.

Ну что сказать? Armikrog - это духовный наследник The Neverhood, это всем известно. Игра прикольная. Пластилиновая анимация хороша. Но вот в остальном, игра медлительная, на моменте с успокоением звиздюка я вообще полез в инет. Из саундтрека мне ничего не запомнилось.

Armikrog — это сплошное разочарование. После всех обещаний и громких слов ожидалось увидеть своего рода перерождение Neverhood в новой оболочке, но на деле получилось нечто совсем иное. Атмосфера вроде бы пыталась напоминать оригинал, но дальше визуального сходства дело не пошло: квесты оказались глупыми, нелогичными, и ни разу не приблизились по уровню к той магии, что дарил «Не верь в худо». Потраченное время не жалко — всё-таки любопытство своё я удовлетворил, — но теперь стало ясно, почему я так долго откладывал запуск. Где-то внутри всё равно сидело сомнение, что игра окажется именно такой: красивой оболочкой без души и настоящего содержания. Очень хочется верить, что когда-нибудь найдутся разработчики, которые рискнут сделать достойный ремейк Neverhood и подарят ему вторую жизнь. А пока Armikrog остаётся нелепой ошибкой и печальным напоминанием о том, что не всё нужно возвращать.

Игра то по сути нормальная, но у меня тут собачка отказалась от тошноты, батарейку переваривала вроде она, а я почти 2 часа зря бегал в игре, но потом прочитал прохождение своего момента, да понял что пора делать рестарт игры, тут уж не особо мутная для меня Головомойка была, но сталкивался до 5 раз возможно к небольшим подглядкам в готовые решения Головомойки, всё тут без каких либо особых подсказок или намёков что надо куда, уж больше я в это сомневаюсь что когда либо сыграю, желания нет совсем повторять прохождение.

If you played The Neverhood and yearn for a similar experience, this is as close as it gets.
the save feature seems unreliable and there are sound glitches, the click inputs can also be fussy at times. Beyond those issues it's a fun experience.
Only worth picking up on a steep sale, the game is too short and lacks polish to be worth more.

Some initially pretty visuals fall away into about four puzzles that constantly repeat themselves with only minor variation. It's not clear if this game has less music than it's predecessor, The Neverhood, or if the sound engine is bugged to the point that the music doesn't play.

Bugged enough that when I encountered several roadblocks in the game, I could not tell if the game had just...totally broken on me or I missed something without a ton of trial and error.

I bought this for a couple dollars, expected nothing, and it still was worse than I anticipated.

First game I bought in steam after exclusively playing family shared games for years, because I really liked the original neverhood, and although it wasn't very good, I think it was worth that price.
Armikrog had much potential, so I'm glad the ending kind of gave hope for a sequel, although I'm pretty skeptical of one happening at this point.

Игра хорошая, но есть - и +. Из + очень крутой музыка, мне очень понравилась, Классный визуальный стиль, есть русский сбутитры, хорошие загадки. Из минусов: в некоторых местах субтитры не появляются или сильно отстают от реплики, и как по мне игра короткая. А так хорошая игра на пару вечерков.

I played The Neverhood, some days before this review, (using ScummVM to get it working,) and while I found the experience of that game to be below average, due to slow pacing and unclear, frustrating puzzles, with a score of 6.5/10, its spiritual successor, Armikrog is what I would consider a significant improvement! In fact, I actually find it to be underrated by the reviews here on Steam.

So, what makes Armikrog an improvement over The Neverhood? Well, the gameplay is much faster than its predecessor, with things like walking, picking up items and pushing objects being much less tedious and/or boring to watch or perform. But while it mostly has good qualities, Armikrog is not without its flaws. For example, the controls are not introduced with a tutorial, it's easy to accidentally switch between Tommynaut and Beak-Beak, and a few objectives are not made clear, leaving only a few puzzles tedious. (I only had to research one: the robot puzzle.) It also has a handful of bugs, such as sound cutting out and delays or visibility breakages with the captions. And this game could have been a little longer.

But in conclusion, the spirit of the below-average Neverhood has been re-shaped into a decent, near-perfect experience that's worth getting your hands dirty. WITH CLAY!

If you played The Neverhood - don't play this game! Complete and utter disappointment. I supported the game during it's whole process but unfortunately it is boring, repetitive, full of bugs and some illogical riddles. I met some bugs that broke the game and I had to start over. Some actions you have to do at proper time without any reason to not work earlier. Some riddles are unintuitive and illogical. Some animations are fun but most of them are boring or even cringe. After that much time I expected something better. If you are familiar with The Neverhood - DON'T BUY THIS GAME AND SAVE YOURSELF THE DISAPPOINTMENT!

Beautiful claymation puzzle point and click with banger soundtrack.
Pen and paper is a must need for this game because you have to remember the most niche things but also makes you feel smart after remembering that you already wrote something down an hour ago that looks like the puzzle you are looking at.

I had 2 issues with the game, the song for the baby puzzle is forever stuck in my head, and moving around with the car is just wrong.

As much as I love point-and-click games and stop-motion animation, I'm afraid this game just doesn't cut it for me and it probably won't with you either. Take my advice: Avoid this game altogether and play The Neverhood. Sure the game's out of stock everywhere and the developer doesn't even exist anymore, but if you can somehow find the old files online, you can get the game working on your PC no problem with the help of ScummVm.

Genuinely a disappointment, as someone that loved Skull Monkeys as a child and point and click style games in general. The puzzles are utterly uninspired and boring so it doesn't excel at that, and the point and click aspect is barely used. No menu for items or interesting engagements or interactions at all. The only thing this "game" has going for it is a fun art style and visual creativity.

Excellent. charming visuals, fun puzzles, and just weird enough to keep you guessing. There was only a few places I had to look up a guide, but you eventually start understanding the systems the game's using. Very organic way to become familiar with an alien world!

Let me begin by stating that I absolutely loved the Neverhood growing up and held onto that game for as long as I possibly could, until it would run on a computer no longer. Armikrog is not a Neverhood remake, but instead a brand new story in the Neverhood universe, complete with 1990's claymation at its finest. New puzzles to solve in Neverhood fashion, all while remaining distinct in its own right.

купил игру еще сто лет назад, когда услышал о продолжении "неверь в худо". Вот дошли руки на поиграть.
+ фановый пёс
+ Прикольные локации
- Баги
- Музыка очень сного на себя берёт, от нее РЕАЛЬНО устаёшь
- Примитивные головоломки на подбор
- Головоломки ходи 4 экрана влево, потом 4 вправо и готово
- Парочка абсолютно бессмысленых. Дойдёте до терминала P поймёте.

Как итог: Для любителя пойдёт, рублей за 200

The animations are quirky and fun, if a bit drug-induced. I ran into a few bugs in the first 4 hours of play. One was a hang, and the other just stopped my progress. There's a "long hall" gag where they make you click through a lot of rooms back and forth, which would be funny, if the rest of the game didn't feel like that already.

When The Neverhood came out almost 30 years ago, I thought it was amazing. This is just OK. Some puzzles are excellent. Some are near repeats of earlier puzzles. The music is good, but so far, no "Potatoes, Tomatoes, Gravy, and Peas" quality songs.

Overall, the game is quite playable.
However, for 2015, the graphics and stylistics seem outdated.
The attempt to replicate the atmosphere of 1996's The Neverhood deserves respect, but the plot falls short of the original.
The full walkthrough took about three hours.

Eu nunca tive a oportunidade de jogar o Neverhood, mas eu descobri que os desenvolvedores resolveram criar uma experiência similar com Armikrog e resolvi testar!

Eu achei o jogo divertido. Os puzzles no geral não são tão difíceis de resolver e você visita vários cenários bem bonitos, ainda mais considerando a estética de claymation que o jogo segue. Mas dá pra sentir algumas arestas cortadas no jogo, e acredito que o desenvolvimento foi bem corrido.

Ele possui alguns bugs estranhos de música ou efeitos sonoros não tocarem nos momentos certos. No geral existe uma certa falta de polimento nos menus e na movimentação dos personagens, e a história do jogo, um ponto muito importante nesse gênero, meio que não é engraçada nem interessante nem nada. Parece que eles não tiveram tempo de colocar tudo que queriam no projeto.

Enfim, em termos gerais eu ainda achei o jogo bacana e acredito que vale o preço sim. Mas não é uma grande aventura como o Neverhood aparenta ser.

P.S.: a trilha sonora é fantástica!

I was a huge fan of clay animation from childhood. I especially remember “The Neverhood,” which had a big impact on my growing up. I really enjoyed playing Armikrog, despite a few moments where there were bugs in the gameplay. It was an amazing experience with not boring puzzles and a whole storyline. I cannot imagine the amount of work that was accomplished by the developers. Thanks to the developers for the time travel experience back to childhood!

As a good old fan of the Neverhood, I backed this game and wanted it to come to life. I got what I wanted, though in the end the scope of the game is by far not the same as the legendary ancestor.
My daughter though, liked this game better than the Neverhood and who am I to disagree with her? I approve it too.

Without comparing it to another certain game, this is a fun and unique point and click puzzle game with enough personality to make up for the short length and simple challenges. The art is everything in this game.

If you are new to point and click puzzles, this is a great entry. If you played all the best in the genre, this is an easy but pleasant experience none the less. I would recommend to all ages and gaming backgrounds.

Pretty good game, waited a lot of years to play it and finish it. I was a very big fan of The Neverhood back when it came with windows.

The music is... okay, the weird babble infused jazz/folk from the first game really shined much more than what this game has. It's not to say that the music was BAD, because it's not; however, it didn't feel like everything fit together from environment and story, with the music selected.

The majority of the puzzles are quite repetitive, I would have liked to see a bigger variety in puzzles. They are basically, Tower related slider puzzles, a rotating triangle puzzle that was color based, "you seen/heard it in the environment" shifting puzzles, and a memory game for the baby mobile. I would have hoped to see some weird stuff like what Neverhood did, with test tubes, sound games for water, etc. The puzzles aren't bad, but it was missing something.

The world was beautiful as always with the cool quirky clay made environments and the cutscenes largely being clay made. Truly a testament to the effort, work and love that went into Armikrog. The world was more cohesive and to the point, but it ultimately fails to feel as organic and able to be as explored into the nooks and crannies as the first game was.

The characters are interesting enough, but they didn't resonate as well as The Neverhood (despite him never talking). I honestly missed the goofy guy telling the stories, the pulling of doorways to make them larger and the collection of the discs to fully understand the story that the Neverhood did. Ultimately, there was more mysteriousness and investment in Neverhood - but that doesn't mean Armikrog doesn't pull some punches.

Get it at full price to support creative indie games, or get it on sale if you've never played the original game. It's worth a play through, even if there's something left to be desired in the end.

This game has no logic compared to Never hood. The character is unsimpatic with a lot of glitches and bugs in gameplay. I could only proceed with guide becasue of hero not putting the flying stuff in the right place, there was a big bug. The objects remain in her after using them or dissapearing in his chest forever. A big dissapointment after years of waiting to buy this. It was not worth it at all.

The plot \ script not clear, doesn't involve you in heroes' problems, boring, and game play is too long, has no much sense and not explained anyhow.
Music is boring also, usual and very background.
Heroes doesn't make you make worrying for them.
I wouldn't buy it second time but sad it's not continued.

It's nice for what it is. If you enjoyed Neverhood back in the day, you'll probably like this game too. It is a bit short and some of the puzzle design is a bit iffy, but it was definitely enjoyable and refreshing to play an older-style point-and-click game.

クレイマンクレイマンシリーズが大好きです。
英語が分からないので終盤の謎解きは少し手こずってしまいましたが、無事クリアすることができました。
ボリュームは少し足りなく感じなくもないですが、個人的にはとても楽しかったです。
何よりも世界観と音楽大好きです。もう一度クレイマンクレイマンシリーズに触れることができてうれしかったです。
