The first time I played this game in 2023 I really hated it. It felt impulsive to leave a negative review immediately, so I just abandoned the game. 3 years later, I came back to replay it (and get all the achievements) and I have definitely changed my mind. It is not that bad.
It is a standard for Frictional Games to write and tell a very pessimistic story, but this one is absolute f*cking despair. It gets so depressing and nihilistic that it becomes comical at a certain point. There are three endings and it feels like they are “the bad ending”, “the worse ending” and “the worst ending” and I do think this is an objective perspective. It ties in with The Dark Descent story and builds upon the whole universe, which is really nice to see.
The gameplay is alright - expected in the horror game genre. Wraiths feel a bit badly designed, but the ghouls are fine.
The setting is something I still have mixed feelings about. The “normal” world is great, being stuck in a desert is menacing enough, but the so-called Other World or Zerzura is really bad. It is extremely bleak, uninspired and boring to traverse.
Personally, this is the weakest Amnesia entry (even worse than Machine for Pigs), but that does not mean it is a bad game. Very average, but I do think it belongs more in the “recommended” than “not recommended” category.

Not as bad as people say it is. More linear than the other Amnesia games for sure, but still a ton of fun.
The horror and the constant sense of looming doom that shadows over you is still here just like in other Frictional games.
My only complaint is that most sections are set during daylight, or in well illuminated areas, which just doesn't really work in an Amnesia game where the darkness is one of your main foes.
That said, when the game wants to scare you it does it really well, but sadly most of the game is just walking from A to B in a mostly straight line.
Again, all of what I said doesn't mean the game is bad, just that it's a more of a story driven game with occasional scary moments than an Amnesia game.

Для меня всё однозначно: пушка-бомба. Возможно, даже лучше, чем The Dark Descent. Причина – механики, психоделические сценки, выстроенная драматургия, вываленный на меня огромный мешок лора. А также осознание, что беременные паркурщицы существуют…

Игра настолько хороша и настолько хорошо закончена, что даже не хочу проходить её второй раз. По крайней мере, пока что. Даже более того: не хочу видеть другие концовки, ибо та, которая досталась мне – идеальна. Не скажу, какая именно. Потому что спойлеры – зло.

It's difficult to determine whether or not I'd recommend this as I'm already having some gripes with it even within the first two hours of gameplay. Namely, I find it to be too linear. I haven't finished the Dark Descent as I was curious about this lesser-known part of the series, but one of the main things I enjoyed about it so far was the fact that even early on I am able to explore for collectibles (although maybe this changes later). With Rebirth, I have to be careful to make sure I'm not going in the 'progress' direction as the game will suddenly decide to either have Tasi fall down a hole or have a tunnel cave-in such that I'm not able to go back in to a previous area. This might change further on, but I checked a walkthrough and I managed to miss so much by accidentally wandering in the correct direction with virtually no light--and therefore a dwindling sanity meter that makes back-tracking a bad decision, even when it is possible. Sometimes it is clear that you are going in a progress direction (ex. an already lit area or a cave-in blocking off one option in a forked path), but sometimes you are just crawling in a cramped tunnel system or the poorly lit other-world. However, I will grant that maybe this is a skill issue of accidentally wasting my matches too early? Based on atmosphere so far, I will hesitantly recommend this, but my opinion may change if the game keeps doing this.

terrible game 100 puzzles with no clue how to complete them and then john_smith_bp chases you for 10 seconds then despawns, 50 animations that you cant skip, 50 cutscenes that include nish and chips, baby that needs milk every 1 second, the room has a nuke white light and im still dying to the darkness, chatgpt generated story with 0 chance of you following it. Yeah, the game mechanics for the enemies were not great. I am surprised that I survived the Wraith, what with how bad my progress was going with enemies. It doesn't help that the darkness and severe lack of reliable light sources compounded the frustration. The items portion of the game felt minimally used; if I recall correctly, there was only one instance where two items needed to be combined.

Still, the sound design, level layout, and general atmosphere was hard not to stay immersed. It's commendable, even breath-taking at points. Truly Lovecraftian, the way that I was overwhelmed with the bizarre nature of everything that I was seeing. The concept of the story and what the main character has to go through makes it pretty spectacular, even with the janky design of the enemies. I still found myself screaming at times.

That being said, I do hope that [i] Amnesia: The Bunker [/i] has better enemy gameplay.

İndirip büyük bir hevesle başladım çünkü ilk Amnesia oyununu yapan orijinal ekip bu oyunun da arkasındaydı. Doğal olarak beklentim yüksekti; o ilk oyundaki atmosferi ve hissi tekrar yaşayacağımı düşünüyordum.

Oyun oldukça yavaş bir açılışa sahip. İlk gerçekten korkutucu sahneye gelene kadar sanırım yaklaşık bir saat geçti. Ama buna rağmen hiç sıkılmadım. O süre boyunca etrafı dikkatle keşfediyor, notları okuyup olan biteni anlamaya çalışıyor ve oyunun mekaniklerine alışıyordum.

Hikaye tarafında çölde düşen bir uçak kazasından sağ kurtulan ana karakterimizi kontrol ediyoruz. Hafızasında büyük boşluklar var ve ne olduğunu anlamaya çalışırken kendini terk edilmiş harabelerde, karanlık tünellerde ve oldukça garip yerlerde buluyor. Zamanla hem geçmişte ne yaşandığını hem de içinde bulunduğumuz durumun arkasındaki gizemi yavaş yavaş öğreniyoruz.

Oyuna başlamadan önce oyunun geçeceği mekanlarla ilgili hiçbir bilgim yoktu. Bir noktadan sonra oyunun biraz futuristik, uzaylımsı ve yer yer steampunk havası taşıyan bir temaya kaydığını görünce ilk başta biraz hevesim kaçtı. Çünkü o tarzları pek sevdiğimi söyleyemem. Ama oynadıkça ve hikaye ilerledikçe buna takılmamaya başladım ve oyunun dünyasına adapte oldum.

Oyunda hoşuma giden şeylerden biri de karnımızdaki bebeğimizle kurulan bağ oldu. Bunu gerçekten başarılı yansıtmışlar. Bir yerden sonra kendimi karakterle o kadar özdeşleştirdim ki yüksek yerlerden atlamaya falan çekinir oldum. “Ya bebeğe bir şey olursa” hissi gerçekten oluşuyor.

Oynanış tarafında mekanikler ve bulmacalar yine Amnesia oyunlarından alışık olduğumuz şekilde. Ne çok zor ne de saçma. Çözmesi keyifli ve ilerledikçe merak duygusunu canlı tutuyor. Grafikler, kaplama detayları ve ışıklandırma gibi teknik açıdan çıkış yılına göre bile geri kalsa da, oyun zaten sizi daha çok atmosferi ve hikayesiyle içine çekiyor. Bir süre sonra bu teknik tarafı pek düşünmüyorsunuz.

Teknik anlamda herhangi bir bug ile karşılaşmadım. Fakat oyun 2020 çıkışlı olmasına rağmen 60 FPS kilidi ile geliyor. Dosyalardan küçük bir değişiklik yaparak bu kilidi kaldırabiliyorsunuz ama yine de oyun 60 FPS üstünde çok akıcı hissettirmiyor. Muhtemelen oyun motoruyla ilgili bir durum.

Oyunu yaklaşık 10 saatte bitirdim. Merak ettiğim için önceki kayıt noktasına dönüp diğer sonları da gördüm. Ama açıkçası hiçbir son sizi tam anlamıyla tatmin eden bir kapanış sunmuyor. Zaten oyunun başında çıkan uyarı yazısı durumu güzel özetliyor: “Bu oyunu kazanmak için oynamayın.”

Tras haber jugado Amnesia: The Dark Descent, A Machine For Pigs y The Bunker, vengo a dar mi opinion
Amnesia : Rebirth a diferencia de The Dark Descent y The Bunker, es mucho mas lineal, como A Machine For Pigs pero a su vez, tiene mucho mejor historia que los demas juegos.
El hecho de que haya una mecanica de cordura para la enfermedad me parece excelente y de que podamos hablar con el bebe para poder calmarnos.
La historia del juego fue medio rara de entender al principio, pero tras rejugarlo dos veces podria afirmar que es buena
El ambiente es muy bueno, diria que mi favorito de todos los Amnesia, pasar por el desierto, por brechas y por tuneles es increible.
Una cosa que no me gusto fue lo poco que los enemigos estaban o atacaban, serian 6 (?) ghuls por todo el juego y los otros enemigos raros que aparecen cerca del final. No quisiera que haya tantos enemigos, pero si podrian haber mas variedad ya que solo son dos tipos.
Los puzzles son dentro de todo aceptables, algunos mas dificiles que otros pero ninguno que te haga mirar algun tutorial.
Finalmente, los finales me parecen meh, aun que las cinematicas de final si son buenas, el desarrollo final me parece muy acelerado, como si lo hubieran intentado terminar rapido
le doy un solido 7/10, lo recomendaria para jugarlo todo seguido.

You'd think if it was this easy to cross into the other world, just by visiting Algeria, Alexander would've done it already over his several hundred year long lifespan back in The Dark Descent. I mean, this game implies Herbert was SENT by him. Why didn't he just go himself?

This is a really disappointing entry into the Amnesia series, or just in general if you know what to expect from Frictional as a developer. Here's a series with a focus on nonlinear, hands-off storytelling, open-ended interpretation of its plot and characters and heavily immersive gameplay. Rebirth here is rather aggressively hands-on, and it's impossible to not get what it's saying.

For what it's worth, it's not like the *story* is bad. I think it does a good job conveying its themes throughout its runtime and it provides ample characterization to understand where the (two main) actors in this story are coming from. While it does feel like it sort of re-treads the same ground TDD does in how it's structured, with not nearly as much fleshing out of its main antagonist as that game had. The problems are with, basically, everything else.

I would talk first about the fear mechanic and how you're meant to deal with it. It's an over-simplified version of sanity in TDD, with none of the bells & whistles *and* it shares a role with your health bar. And already that's markedly less interesting. It increases in two ways—three, but it's not relevant to most gameplay—being near a monster or being in the darkness. You manage this by pressing X (only in specific areas, which seems to be a failsafe) or, obviously, using matches or your lantern.

You realize, though, those two resources you have are utterly pitiful, and you're afforded better vision by waiting out in the darkness for your night vision than using either. Matches are awful as they barely provide any light and go out very quickly to movement, and the lantern has a fairly limited resource itself and only brightens a tiny circle in front of you, which is affected by your model for some reason.

They design around this, it looks, because each area is practically a hallway with one obvious way forward. You can't struggle with the horrible lighting if you only have one way to go. Then, you ask, "what about the monsters?" Often, since there's nowhere else they can put them, they're placed directly in your path to force the interaction. This really isn't great design. Since you're on such strict management with your light and fear, and as these tight corridors make it impossible to avoid an encounter, the best course of action becomes running right past the monster.

This is where you realize how stupid the monsters must be. You get so much experience limit testing them like this, it shows how non-oppressive they actually are. Sort of pulls back the curtain on how they work, with the end result being a worse effect. This game isn't scary, or tense. There's many things causing this to be.

Right from the beginning you're being flashed with images, it never spends its time building up the atmosphere to make you dread going on. What makes TDD, Soma, Penumbra all so engaging is essentially nonexistent in this game. You don't get the trickling sound design or the deliberate manipulation of the paranoia the first Amnesia seeded inside you from its start. All you get are very, very rudimentary physics puzzles, which occasionally have very poor clarity.

Amnesia: Rebirth somehow manages to feel padded, despite being the same length as its predecessor. You don't spend enough time in any one section for it to take hold, yes, but it plays its cards so often that it sinks its effect. There's, what, 5 separate chase sequences, 4 separate times you get a spooky box of dead human bodies jumpscare (which was already a scare in TDD, one time). Not to mention Tasi, for whatever reason, finds she must yell "run" twice in one chase, in her complete solitude. Guess she's talking to the player?

It is very hard to immerse yourself in this game. Tasi is a very talkative protagonist, she keeps you in check that you are not the one in control, while making incredibly basic observations as if to make sure the player is following. It gamifies things sometimes that makes if hard not to laugh at. Pressing X to rub your belly is inherently comedic because it is an emotional action being made into a basic mechanic. The pop-up telling you to do so is absolutely hysterical. It lacks self-awareness.

There is tons already said how it ruined the lovecraftian mystery of the other world by depicting it in its entirety, too. In a way, I'd feel Rebirth would be much better if it wasn't tied to the Amnesia IP. It's ambition crumbles the foundation it's set upon, and it would've been alright enough if it wasn't. Another mediocre horror game, by a developer of several incredible ones.

I found this much more of a puzzle-walking-sim than an immersive horror-hide-and-seek-sim. From that, you're probably better off watching a playthrough of this game rather than playing it yourself - you'd feel the same vibes watching someone else play than playing it yourself, if you catch my meaning.

It was decent, yet a bit forgettable and slightly disinteresting in parts, and acted more of a foundation for universe-building for my beloved Amnesia: The Bunker.

I can't say I'd recommend you to play this game, but I would say watch a playthrough, with a rating of 5.5/10

8 из 10. Как говорилось в меме зачем страдать трагически если можно попить водически... У древнеримских руин... И понеслось. Кто играл в amnesia the bunker поймет.
После герметичного бункера было неожиданностью что тут так много открытого пространства. Как неожиданностью было и спойлер! родить от первого лица и кормить ребенка грудью.
Сюжет был классным, многослойным. Героиня вспоминает и далёкое прошлое и то что случилось после авиакатастрофы. Несколько раз игра обманывала тем что казалось что спасение уже близко, а потом случалась неожиданная неприятность.
Головоломки поначалу ставят в тупик, но на самом деле просты и смотрятся в игре очень органично, как часть повествования, а не просто загадки. К тому же, говоря сама с собой героиня иногда даёт подсказки для решения или дополняет сюжет вспоминая прошлое.
Не знаю сознательно или нет но несколько раз разработчики делали отсылки на half life. Тут и в клетке на рельсе покатался и в вагоне проехался по уровню и даже башня-цитадель с главным злодеем имеется.
Единственное что не понравилось это ограничения на кол-во спичек, всего 10. Это смотрится странно, потому что бывают длинные темные куски уровня где тратишь их по многу чтобы сохранить кукуху и потом не остаётся спичек чтобы зажечь факелы на стене рядом с загадкой, где свет бы пригодился.

While I did complete it, I personally did not care for this installment, but I still respect the series itself. This amount of new mechanics in this game, and how well they hold up, is akin to throwing many cubes of jello at a wall at once and hoping they stick. Simply put, Frictional got too ambitious on this installment for their own good, and failed to deliver.

Basically everything went downhill gameplay and story wise after Shooting the door with the tank at the fortress. Having to routinely hit "x" to comfort the baby was a deliberate background mechanic that really made the mid-late gameplay irritating. It also must be mentioned that the super dark puzzle areas, claustrophobic tunnels, and traveling in and out of ancient areas was stitched together so horribly, that it was literally devoid of anything rememberable.

The rather dusty engine made chases and jumpscares routine and sanitized rather quickly. For example, just by the rigid animations of the enemy npcs, I knew they would not be programmed to follow me only through a crouch only tunnel.

I only advise purchasing this game if there is a sale of at least 25% or more. It truly isn't a terrible game, just an overambitious one that will show its cracks, quickly, to anyone with a sharp eye. It definitely does not hit the mark to pay $30.

Another magnificent game from Frictional (creators of SOMA). Playing Rebirth was a relentlessly intense experience from beginning to end. Admittedly I gave up in the early game on my first try, as I found the puzzles too vague to unravel....that was until I discovered that the puzzles are supposed to be solved with the diagrams in the journal ( derr...). So I gave the game another go, this time the puzzles made much more sense and the game flowed along at a nice pace, finishing all three endings on my first run in 9 hours without using a guide. The graphics, audio and the story are stunning, I really felt fully immersed, which made the urgency and terror so much more real. The creatures evoked the same feelings of alien helplessness as with SOMA. The protaganist (Tasi) has the same bewildered-blundering but brave character traits as Simon Jarret; so I felt invested in her life, dare I say I even cared about her. If you love solving puzzles, cosmic horror and SOMA this game is for you. 10/10.

It doesn’t really feel like the old-school Amnesia games. This one feels more story-driven than gameplay-focused, which I personally didn’t find that enjoyable.

The puzzles were annoying as hell. The main character keeps going through different memory phases or alternate realms, and each time you enter a new phase, her belly gets bigger—making her more vulnerable to monsters. The monsters weren’t really scary; they were just kind of meh. And, as usual with horror games, the side characters obviously get clapped throughout the story.

真好玩吧这个游戏，文档巨多，但是剧情比黑暗后裔易懂一些。场景转换、恐怖手法不落窠臼，有几个令人耳目一新的桥段。但是对于一个没有反击手段的恐怖游戏来说，流程过长了，如果能削减三分之一，体验会更上一层楼。

Игра не страшная, даже The Dark Descent будет страшнее будет и сюжет как по понятному было раскрыто, были понято мотивы героя и злодея, а здесь тут крушение поиске, поиски экипажа, даже мир который показали пространство даже не рассказали откуда, как, из чего, из кого и т.д а по запискам мне было не понятно, но могу сказать что здесь появились персонажи которые могу говорить, не только наш гг ну и другие, вот это меня удивило, и сам потусторонний мир, могу сказать что мне и понравилось игра и не понравилось, как то нейтрально к игре отношусь.

这作拉完了，先是场景开阔导致恐怖氛围几乎没有，然后是室内太黑油给的太抠火柴点燃时间太少导致极度瞎眼，大量文本但是有用信息太少，远古科技与其他场景过度割裂，为了拖时间经常在主角快要做成一件事的时候出点意外绕路去完成本来要完成的事。

И механика взаимодействия с предметами, характерная для игр Frictional Games, здесь придаёт гемплею особую изюменку. This is an excellent sequel to Dark Descent! Frictional Games does it again a decade later. Roots you right back into the fearful agonizing state of mind that Frictional Games brought us with the Penumbra series and those dastardly evil dogs and the parasite buggin the hell out of you inside your mind. The sound is phenomenal and gritty that makes you want to flee at the slightest loud noise. The graphics in most cases were excellent, but for a 2020 game I felt they could have been much better in several cases that lacked proper detail especially up close, or when you witnessed glitching double over layed textures. This game was a worthy sequel to Dark Descent, now Im looking forward to The Bunker once I play some Mods Maps on the Workshop!

Moderately interesting game, but too long and boring gameplay wise. 12/20. Half the length with better and more varied levels would have been the sweet spot here.

The promised setup of a desert was great but unfortunately after a short playtime we are locked underground in ugly uninspired sci-fi levels until the very end.

The puzzles are interesting for some at best, but obtuse and tedious for others. The lamp isn't good in this game, the light is too weak and it consumes the oil very rapidly compared to the TDD.

Luckily the story's core subject is interesting and nice, i found, a topic we don't see often in video games so yeah why not. However the pacing and the plot's justifications are bad. The whole game is like a 100m straight line walk in theory but every 10 meters the ground falls beneath you ( unlucky every time the game says lol) until the very end.

A great feature here that was lacking in TDD is the body awareness, I hope every first person camera would include it, really.

Conclusion, not bad but not good. TDD was a lot better in terms of pacing, puzzles, horror, level design and story telling.

Pretty good,

I enjoyed the gameplay, music, visuals, and the story. The game heavily relies on the player falling for the illusion of the enemies being able to attack at any moment and them being dangerous. Which did work for the most part, but if the illusion disappears after getting grabbed a few times and just being able to continue like nothing happened, it's unable to get it back since there are only a few types of enemies. The environments are really good-looking. And the portals are cool as well. The story itself is mostly good, except it does give me a bit of Tomb Raider 2013 vibes with literally everything going wrong with falling through the roof every 5 minutes just before escaping something, which gets old fast. Was it really that hard to get the main character naturally in a creepy environment without just forcing her in it by destroying the ground every minute? Dark Descent barely does this and mostly forces the player to do it, which allows your mind to make it more scary.

Ho apprezzato molto The Bunker! d'impatto, conciso, ansiogeno al punto giusto e con un gameplay tutto sommato soddisfacente.
Qui il progetto è un pò più ambizioso, tuttavia non è previsto l'uso di alcun arma. Io detesto i giochi dove non è possibile reagire, è una cosa innaturale! Non dico che i protagonisti debbano essere tutti Nathan Drake, ma se c'è un nemico che mi attacca io devo poter almeno prendere un bastone e darglielo in testa! Amnesia The Bunker, non era uno sprattutto ne un picchiaduro, ma avevi una pistola (anche se con i colpi contati) potevi provare a incendiare i nemici, insomma, potevi in qualche modo reagire. Questo Rebirth invece è un Outlast ma senza i nascondigli, quindi spesso ti senti braccato e non ti resta che attendere di essere fatto fuori.
Altra cosa: c'è tanto da leggere, troppo, ci sono note sparse praticamente ovunque. Non sarebbe un difetto assolutamente, ma non essendoci nemici (o almeno nemici da abbattere) tutto è incentrato esclusivamente su enigmi ambientali e trama, ed è proprio questo il punto! Le numerosissime note oltre a spezzare il ritmo continuamente sembrano quasi tutte messe per creare confusione nel giocatore, rendendo la trama di base ancora più incomprensibile!
Se gli sviluppatori avevano in mente una buona storia hanno fatto tutto ciò che era in loro potere per non raccontarcela.
Anche gli enigmi, tutto sommato buoni sono però spesso forzati e privi di senso, ci si trova spesso in quelle stanzone costruite dagli (spoiler) con oggetti per le mani, da inserire in qualche posto per andare da qualche parte, ma la domanda che ci poniamo non è "come si risolve?" ma più che altro "Perchè?"
Comunque, leggendo su Wikipendia la storia magari c'era, ma un modo meno criptico e noioso di raccontarla avrebbe giovato a tutto il gioco.

In sintesi, secondo me le premesse erano molto buone ma il gioco a causa di alcune scelte, del level design e del gameplay è inferiore a the Bunker!

7/10, Spoiler Review
[spoiler] The story centers on Tasi, who is intentionally written as flawed and frustrating. That works, because her progression feels consitent by the end. Dr. Merzier in my opinion is the standout character of the story, his role in the story is quite nuanced, sad that he didn't get much development. In my eyes the sequence is probably like this: plane crash, desert wandering, ancient ruins, encounter with the Goddess or Jin, and the "choice" tied to Tasi's pregnancy. The *Vitae functions as a kind of death driven resource from the ancient civilization, older than the Romans, though the nature of that kind of society and the Goddess herself remains vague. Some elements, like the team turning into "it" and the red light, feel underexplained. The ending where Tasi gives the child to the Goddess feels like the logical conclusion of her arc (which is the only ending I did), but her character could have used more development earlier to make the story overall much more coherrent, and this also applies to other endings, one of the reason why I stopped playing after only getting this ending [/spoiler]

The writing sometimes drags, and certain mysteries never fully earned. [spoiler] The focus on the child dominates Tasi's character to the point that other dimensions of her personality get less room to breath. There are strong moments, but it feels like the narrative could have been more tightly constructed and more ambitious in its character work [/spoiler]

Gameplay is overall fine. Puzzles are decent and integrate well with the story, though some require annoying preicision, which is admittedly my fault, especially on an Xbox controller if sensitivty is not calibrated as the game didn't communicate it to me. [spoiler] The fortress section in my opinion is the highlight. The earlier enemies are good and scary, while the floating creatures later on are less compelling and shift the tone (both story and gameplay) in a way that makes the game less frightening. [/spoiler]

What it may lack in conventional gameplay mechanics, it makes up for in spades with a thoughtfully twisted tale of sacrifice and struggle.

I bounced off this game the first time for having a slow start and being overwhelmed by the many flashbacks, notes, and names to keep track of. I shelved it and played Amnesia: The Bunker instead and found it's focused game-like structure to be more immediately compelling.

That game, while masterful, left me a longing desire to find out more about the world and story hidden away outside of its claustrophobic and hostile tunnels. *Amnesia: Rebirth* gave me what I wanted and much more that I did not expect.

While it may not be perfect, the story felt especially meaningful and even painfully resonant in ways I was not anticipating. I might even argue that it's Frictional's most moving narrative to date. I wont spoil it too much more but the connections between this game and other entries in the franchise felt particularly rewarding to discover.

The way it interweaves meticulously crafted psychological horror assets while deemphasizing the survival horror elements may not be everyone's cup of tea but I'm genuinely grateful that I gave it another shot because the story was worth it as a uniquely artistic, lovingly crafted, and often deeply upsetting experience.

Frictional deserves so much more love for their immersive and morose tales of dark dreadful subject matter so thoroughly brought to life the medium of interactive fiction.

Es un titulo que logra equilibrar el terror psicológico con una narrativa emocionalmente profunda. La historia de la protagonista, Tasi Trianon, genera variedad de emociones y el juego utiliza su embarazo como una mecánica narrativa y de tensión. A diferencia de otros juegos de terror, este explora temas complejos como la maternidad, el duelo y la desesperación, lo que genera un horror moral muy efectivo. El contraste entre los desiertos brillantes de Argelia y las cuevas claustrofóbicas es impactante y refrescante para el género. Uno de los puntos más fuertes son los sonidos ambientales (como los susurros y pasos) son esenciales para la inmersión y el miedo constante. La ausencia de una interfaz intrusiva ayuda a que el jugador se sienta totalmente atrapado en el mundo. Los Puzzles estan bien diseñados, no son tan fáciles como para aburrir ni tan complejos como para romper el ritmo del juego. After finishing The Dark Descent and The Bunker, I jumped into Amnesia: Rebirth expecting more classic Amnesia, and that’s pretty much what you get, just more polished and story focused.

You play as Tasi, a survivor of a plane crash in the Algerian desert, trying to piece together what happened while exploring caves, ruins, and some seriously unsettling places. Like previous games, it’s all about exploration, puzzle solving, and hiding from things that absolutely do not want you alive.

Gameplay feels very similar to The Dark Descent. You manage light sources, sneak past enemies, and solve environmental puzzles. The fear system replaces sanity, and the game throws some strange visions at you as things get worse. Stealth works really well, especially with the ability to drop flat to the ground, which leads to some really tense moments where you’re just listening and hoping you’re not found.

The first half is slower and very story heavy, but the second half ramps things up with some great horror sequences and surreal environments. A few late-game sections feel like they drag on a bit, but the payoff is worth it if you’re invested in the story.

Where Rebirth really stands out is its emotional weight. It digs into themes of loss and parenthood, and Tasi feels like a real person rather than just a silent protagonist. The voice acting and sound design sell every moment, whether it’s quiet exploration or full panic while something hunts you.

Some players didn’t like how scripted parts of it feel, but I actually enjoyed the more narrative driven approach. It feels less like a challenge to beat and more like a story to experience.

If you liked The Dark Descent, you’ll probably enjoy this, and it ties into that game’s lore in some interesting ways. It’s not the scariest in the series, but it hits harder emotionally.

Recommended, especially if you enjoy story driven horror.

I didn't personally enjoy this game as much as the Dark Descent, but it is still better than A Machine for Pigs in my opinion. The plain desert being the main setting for this game doesn't really feel like an Amnesia game, and the story is, I guess fine? Not as good as the Dark Descent but certainly better than AMFP. I do like how they added some sort of "sanity" mechanic that brings the purpose of the series though.

I wouldn't recommend this game, and would only get it at a sale.

Игра хорошая. Надо быть готовым к исследованиям и смотреть рисунки каждые пару шагов. Ужастиков маловато насыпали, но загадок очень много и бывают разного уровня сложности... Тупнячки придется ловить. Показалось, что игра прям не хочет нас оставить вообще наедине с мыслями: то пузо потрогай, то рисунок посмотри, то гуль идет за тобой, то записка, то спичку зажги, еще браслет покажи.
Мне не понравился браслет, я и так в местности тяжело ориентируюсь, а еще добавили телепорты. И зачем 3 размера сосуда масла для 1 лампы собирать. В кармашки теперь не напихаешь много спичек и масла, неприятное ограничение.
