Alone in the Dark 3

Alone in the Dark 3 is a direct sequel to Alone in the Dark 2 and the last game of the original canon of the series. It has the exact same gameplay as the first two games but with reload action removed, more responsive shooting/fighting and more puzzles than the previous game. The main theme is the Wild West as Carnby is pitted against a town filled with zombie cowboy outlaws who attack him with revolvers and lever-action rifles.

Storyline

It's 1925 and Edward Carnby is called to investigate the disappearance of a film crew at a two-bit ghost town known by the name of Slaughter Gulch located in the Mojave Desert in California. Among the disappeared crew is Emily Hartwood. Edward soon discovers that a curse has gripped the town, and an evil cowboy from the Badlands named Jed Stone is the one responsible for the crew's disappearance. Lurking around town are many trigger-happy sharpshooters, deranged prospectors, and bloodthirsty lost souls whom Edward must ward off with both his strength and his wit.

Alone in the Dark 1 and 2 are among my favorite games of all time. When the third one was announced, of course it felt like a great thing. In the end, though, it turned out to be the worst of the series by quite some margin.

The graphics and audio are improved, of course, and the UI is more modern, but the gameplay suffered. The main issue is that so many items have functions that are obscure and feel almost random, turning the experience into a very frustrating trial-and-error game (nowadays we have dozens of online guides, but in 1995, not so much…).

Also, even if you correctly match an item to the right place, your positioning to use or apply many of them has to be almost pixel-perfect. You try and keep trying, end up getting frustrated, only to find out (many minutes later) that you were right all along — you just had to move your character five degrees to the left for the action to trigger.

Still a good game, but it could have been a masterpiece.

Alone in the Dark 2 pivoted the fledgling franchise into comedy after the original game made a remarkably admirable attempt to scare the hell out of early-90s gamers. It wasn't a good experiment, mixing fast-paced shooting with base mechanics that simply were not suited for it, while throwing out the atmosphere that the original game was so influential for. Christiane Sgorlon's Alone in the Dark 3, once again developed by Infogrames, can be seen as somewhat of a course correction in this regard, focusing less on action and reorienting towards puzzle-solving and atmosphere.

Unfortunately, Alone in the Dark 3 can only be seen as an incremental success in this regard. While it is, without question, far less frustrating to actually engage in combat (although hardly ideal, this was never the franchise's strong suit), the puzzle design is far worse. The back of the box states that one can "enjoy up to 70 hours of gameplay," which is rich considering the game's runtime amounts to maybe three if you know what you're doing. This is what I like to call "Blockbuster rental design", where the developers deliberately make a game harder than necessary to force players at the time to make a purchase. It feels as if every room has a puzzle and so many of them absolutely reek of the worst moon logic known to man. Given how prominently the game advertises the strategy guide, I didn't feel much shame in reading a walkthrough and was consistently astounded by how asinine the solutions often were. There are some interesting ideas here, such as when Edward Carnby is transformed into a leopard and must find a way to transform back into his usual mustachioed self. While I do prefer this to being gunned down in a microsecond by zombie pirates, I sincerely think these supernatural cowboys should just play checkers or something.

The writing (handled by Hubert Chardot and Christian Nabais) isn't much better, although it isn't nearly as try-hard as Alone in the Dark 2 could be. Alone in the Dark 3's premise holds potential; a Hollywood Western turned into a living hell by spirits of the American Frontier, murdering the crew and kidnapping the lead actress. The fundamental problem with Alone in the Dark 3's storytelling is much the same as Alone in the Dark 2's; the worldbuilding (the primary means through which the story is conveyed) attempts to mimic old Western serials, much like how the prior title was a facsimile of pulp pirate stories. Unfortunately, compared to the descent of a man into madness that the original Alone in the Dark conveyed so well, these pastiches take me out of the seriousness of the story. I simply do not buy the concept, comparatively. It doesn't help that the game pitifully tries to tie the game's narrative into former games (antagonist Jed Stone is the offspring of Pregzt and Elisabeth Jarret), at some attempt at relevancy within a trilogy people had stopped caring about some time ago at that point.

The sole redeeming point is that the game looks fairly damn good for the time. It's clear Infogrames' art department had cut its teeth on the prior games, as the backgrounds are the most detailed they've ever been. 3D elements blend in better than previously, especially in the Native American lava area, where the jagged rocks and bubbling lava blend fairly seamlessly with the three-dimensional pillars. I love many Western films, so of course I'm partial to the game's art direction, which is executed very well. Every scene seems suffocatingly musty, as if dust is the environment's second skin. Weirdly, Carnby's model seems less detailed than the previous game, but it's hardly a big deal. Unfortunately, the original score, a fairly consistent highlight of the series up to this point, is weak here. Frédéric Mentzen's score is not bad by any means, but it is flat and uninteresting. There are admirable attempts to match the Western theming, but it never feels properly creative, rather stock, as if taken from a pre-existing library. This part I found especially disappointing, as even Alone in the Dark 2 impressed with a well-composed, albeit ill-fitting soundtrack.

While visually memorable and temporarily immersive, Alone in the Dark 3 fails to live up to its promising concept by doubling down on selling strategy guides. While no longer subjecting you to frustrating combat, I would not suggest tackling the game without a walkthrough unless you intend to spend "up to 70 hours" bashing your head against the wall. A great graphical presentation and art direction don't stop the game from feeling like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drag. The lackluster script and boring score don't help things. Alone in the Dark 3 might not be as bad as its immediate predecessor, but there is frankly a reason it is forgotten.

Alone in the Dark 3 con i suoi poligoni spigolosi e i controlli ormai datati rimane un titolo che sorprende ancora oggi se si ha la pazienza di entrarci dentro. Questa volta ci ritroviamo nel selvaggio west, un’ambientazione che già di per sé rompe con i toni gotici e pirateschi dei capitoli precedenti e che dona al gioco una personalità tutta sua. Si respira polvere, si sentono i saloon, e soprattutto si incontrano nemici sempre più legati all’azione che all’horror classico. La cosa che ho notato di più, passando dal primo capitolo fino ad arrivare a questo, è come gli sviluppatori abbiano voluto sottolineare il senso di progressione. Nel primo Alone in the Dark eri sempre dentro quella villa, un grande labirinto gotico da esplorare e padroneggiare. Nel secondo invece già si intravedeva la voglia di spostarsi e variare le ambientazioni. Ma è qui, nel terzo, che questo concetto viene preso di petto: non si torna mai indietro, si abbandonano le aree per sempre, e questo dà una sensazione di avanzamento, di viaggio. Non c’è più solo la casa che diventa familiare col tempo, ma una serie di luoghi che si attraversano come tappe di una storia. Da un lato perdi quell’effetto claustrofobico e di padronanza totale dello spazio, dall’altro guadagni varietà e un ritmo più scandito. I combattimenti sono anche più marcati che nei predecessori. Non siamo ancora ai livelli di un action game moderno, ma si sente che l’enfasi è posta sullo scontro diretto. Certo, i controlli non aiutano e la telecamera spesso fa disperare, ma il senso di pericolo è lì, più concreto che mai. Questa scelta rende il gioco forse meno raffinato dal punto di vista del mistero e dell’enigma, ma regala un’energia nuova, quasi pulp, che lo differenzia dagli altri due capitoli. Dal punto di vista tecnico oggi è innegabile che sia invecchiato, ma i fondali prerenderizzati e l’atmosfera western-horror funzionano ancora. È un’ambientazione insolita per un survival horror, e proprio per questo resta impressa. C’è qualcosa di affascinante nel vedere streghe e pistoleri fantasma convivere in un contesto che non ti aspetteresti mai. Alone in the Dark 3 non ha la purezza del primo, né l’assurdità piratesca del secondo, ma si ritaglia uno spazio personale. È il capitolo che segna la voglia degli sviluppatori di sperimentare con le ambientazioni e con la struttura, e che ti accompagna in un viaggio dove ogni area nuova porta qualcosa di diverso. Non è solo nostalgia, è ancora oggi un piccolo pezzo di storia videoludica che sa intrattenere. Se vi piacciono le radici del survival horror e non vi spaventano controlli rigidi e difficoltà d’altri tempi, prendetelo e giocatelo. Perché merita.

Lo recomiendo si les gustó al menos alguna de las dos primeras partes, ya que no aporta nada nuevo en camparación con la segunda entrega, aunque sí es una continuación directa de ésta y bastante más larga. Como siempre será necesaria una guía ya que de lo contrario es prácticamente imposible descifrar todos los acertijos, le doy un 7.0 por ser demasiado similar a la segunda parte, y solo agregaron algunas leves mejoras en la jugabilidad.

Throw the common sense and logic out. Nonsense puzzles of the second game are back with even less sense. But this time the action is much easier and you'll be always stocked with guns. The game is darker in color than the previous one, but I find it hard to believe someone would've thought this is scary. It's an action adventure game with the comedic absurdity you must've been used to by now. You put a key and a pearl into a safe, a man walks out of it and takes your amulet, simple.

A classic survival horror with an interesting western setting. This certainly is the best looking and sounding of the classic Alone in the Dark games. Sadly, a lot of the puzzles are too obscure, so you'll probably would like to use some hints or a guide for the experience to be more enjoyable. It has some great cinematic moments and some animations are a pure delight.

I gotta be real here... this really has not aged well at all. I think it's better than the second, at least to start, but all the atmosphere, spooks, and solid tension and pacing of the first game are STILL not back again here. And to boot, be prepared to just get smoked and die arbitrarily like in the second with its focus on some of the clunkiest combat DOS has ever seen. Also one of the puzzles has you interacting with objects on walls you can't see? This game sucks :(

A good installment in the series. Alone in the Dark 3 returns to more horror elements, albeit still more of an action adventure like AITD 2. Horror themes are definitely here but I would not compare them to the same vibe as the first game. If you are trying to recapture the horror aesthetic of the first game, you won't get that with AITD 2 or 3.
The Alone in the Dark games got weirder as they went on and this one is no exception, taking place in a wild west setting in the form of a movie set, where Edward Carnby has been dispatched to investigate the disappearance of the film's crew. The story of this game is way better than Alone in the Dark 2 and in my opinion this installment has the most creative story out of all three games in the original trilogy. Carnby deals with undead cowboys, magic, resurrection, and spirit animals.
The combat feels good, I think at this point in the series the developers refined and perfected the awkward combat as much as they could. Shooting guns feels good and enemies aren’t the damage sponges that they were in AITD 2. Also, a neat inclusion of this game is the difficulty level which changes Carnby’s and enemies health if it gets too hard.
Out of the original Alone in the Dark trilogy, I find the puzzles in this game to be the most cryptic and they are what I struggled with most in this one. In the beginning I could solve the puzzles pretty easily but as the game progressed the puzzles got marginally harder to figure out. Some puzzles were just straight up impossible to decipher, such as using a token on a piano, using a pocket watch to open a door, or using a printing plate on a mirror? Like Alone in the Dark 2, this game is most definitely a “try every item on EVERYTHING” situation (there is no shame in using a guide if you get stuck).
Overall I’d say the difficult puzzles and sometimes the lack of healing items will get on players nerves, however Alone in the Dark 3 offers a fun, slightly spooky experience with a very unique story and an exciting ending. This game provides a fulfilling closure to the original 1990s PC trilogy.

С третьей игрой тоже будет краткий обзор, ибо также нет особых отличий, игра также быстро проходится. В этот раз гг отправляется в заброшенный ковбойский городок спасти свою подругу из первой игры. Игру попытались сбалансировать между адвенчурой и хоррором, но все равно вышел уклон в сторону первого. С загадками та же тема, также попытка сбалансировать боевку и загадки, но тут вроде как смогли, ибо я не почувствовал, что играл в чистую боевку. Атмосферу попытались привести в хоррорный вид, но вышло также слабо, а музыка в игре - тупо один трек, который всю игру играл (по крайней мере у меня так было). Единственное, что можно отметить - в игре появились катсцены на движке, это похвально. В итоге эту игру, как и вторую часть, стоит пройти только в рамах ознакомления с серией, ибо тут тоже не наблюдалось какой-то духоты.

La caduta finale di un gioco che ha creato e che è riuscito a differire ad ogni titolo sempre di più, secondo me in peggio, con scelte stupide e insensate a partire dalla storia fino al cambiamento di atmosfera.

It is hard to recommend, it is hard not to recommend. It is not as good as previous games. It is not horror for sure. I hated fighting scenes. Controls are unresponsive (it can be because of DosBox emulator). It is hard to see where to shoot - most of the times bullets goes anywhere except enemy. Some puzzles are illogical, some fights are unreasonable. All in all it is fun, but recommended only for hardcore gamers.

Posso ser criticado por falar isso, mas eu peguei esse jogo só pra colecionar, independente dele ser a frente de seu tempo, esse tempo já passou a décadas, o jogo com certeza têm seu valor histórico como influencia de todo um gênero, mas hoje além de graficamente ultrapassado, os controles são confusos e esquisitos e pelo que pesquisei da pra ficar travado no jogo pro bobeira.
Pra gamers mais novos, imagino que o remake seja uma pedida bem melhor (isso que nem joguei o remake ainda), mas se você é mais velho que eu e conheceu o jogo (e quer jogar novamente) ou só quer ter na coleção, recomendo pegar o pacote com uma ótima promoção (que foi meu caso).

I may be criticized for saying this, but I bought this game just to collect it, regardless of whether it was ahead of its time, that time has passed decades ago, the game certainly has its historical value as an influence on an entire genre, but today, in addition to being graphically outdated, the controls are confusing and weird and from what I've researched, you can get stuck in the game for no reason.
For younger gamers, I imagine the remake is a much better option (and I haven't even played the remake yet), but if you're older than me and knew the game (and want to play it again) or just want to have it in your collection, I recommend getting the bundle with a great promotion (which was my case).

В Alone in the Dark 3 появился ряд важных улучшений и изменений, по сравнению с предыдущими играми. Так перемещение стало более отзывчивым и появились детальные настройки сложности. За счёт этого игра однозначно в моих глазах превосходит предшествующую её Alone in the Dark 2. Однако у триквела появились серьёзные проблемы с головоломками, которые не только стали сложнее для разгадывания, но и взаимодействия с ними стали хуже. Например, в начале игры можно найти голову быка, висящую на двери. Для дальнейшего продвижения необходимо потянуть за рог быка. Вот только разработчики забыли добавить возможность осмотреть её, чтобы до этого догадаться. Лично я, из-за того, что главный герой ничего не сказал, решил, что с головой никак нельзя взаимодействовать. При этом как минимум начало у игры довольно линейной, и тут нельзя, столкнувшись со сложной загадкой, отвлечься на что-то ещё.

Итак, по первым впечатлениям, Alone in the Dark 3 не дотянула по уровню до первой игры в серии, но по крайней мере исправила некоторые недостатки второй игры, чего впрочем недостаточно для того, чтобы её рекомендовать.

Все те же проблемы что и в 1й и 2й части:
- игра не отображается на аккаунте
- игра не прибавляет +1 к библиотеке
- статистика игры не идёт в зачёт (из-за первых двух минусов)
- нет поддержки современных систем, игра запускается дос-боксом (минус с натяжкой, игре 30+ лет)
- не работает оверлей

Непонятно в чём проблема издателя сделать игру видимой на аккаунте, это технически сложно или что? Страница в магазине имеется, игры куплены, а на аккаунте как будто их нет.

While the story and process of solving puzzles are an improvement from the second game, the third one nevertheless suffers from horrible combat. I played on the highest difficulty and you basically need to keep punching and stunning the enemy (and hope they don't do the same) or shoot him ridiculous number of times. [spoiler] For example, when Edward becomes cougar. Sometimes you need to exploit the enemies to survive, like in the crushing door section where you can just keep running into the wall and the zombie won't be able to hit you (you of course try to kill him with Winchester but good luck with that). [/spoiler] Also the soundtrack is mediocre.

In questo ultimo gioco è addirittura doppiato in ita anche se il doppiaggio non è spettacolare ma meglio di nulla. Dopo una telefonata vi trovate nel deserto del mojave ad investigare, e vi ritroverete subito in una cittadina molto selvaggio west. i comandi son gli stessi dei primi due e si niente joypad solo tastiera.

Come per tutti i due precedenti titoli, se vi assale la nostalgia allora prendete la trilogia in forte sconto son certo che vi divertirete. Altrimenti lasciate perdere. ^_^

Tercera entrega la franquicia que inició el survival horror como género en si mismo.

Lamentablemente, me pareció la más flojita de las tres.

La historia del salvaje oeste se siente extraña dentro de la franquicia y la conexión con los juegos anteriores se siente super forzada e innecesaria incluso. Creo que si se la hubieran ahorrado el desarrollo del villano podría haber funcionado mejor.

De cualquier manera, artísticamente me pareció hermoso. Muy detallado y rico en escenarios.

Destacar la secuencia en la que Edward reencarna su alma en una pantera, y podés jugar como el animal. Una de los momentos más surrealistas que tuve el ¿placer? de jugar.

Es 1925 y después del éxito de Edward Carnby en sus dos investigaciones anteriores, un periodista lo ha apodado el 'Detective Privado Sobrenatural'. Esta vez, lo llaman para investigar la desaparición de un equipo de filmación en un pueblo fantasma de poca monta conocido con el nombre de Slaughter Gulch ubicado en el desierto de Mojave en California. Entre el equipo desaparecido se encuentra Emily Hartwood, la sobrina de Jeremy Hartwood del original. Edward pronto descubre que una maldición se ha apoderado de la ciudad, y un malvado vaquero de Badlands llamado Jed Stone es el villano responsable desapareición de la tripulación. Acechando por la ciudad hay muchos francotiradores de gatillo fácil, buscadores trastornados y almas perdidas sedientas de sangre a quienes Edward debe proteger con su fuerza y su ingenio.

De las primeras 3 de la saga que salio casi conjunta, es la entrega mas pobre a nivel argumental, tiene algo menos de combate y mas lore (equilibrada de las 3) pero la considero menos misteriosa y fiel al estilo de la primer entrega del alone in the dark.
Es un titulo de 1995 se ve una mejoria (aunque no abismal) en lo que respecta al apartado grafico, la musica esta bien, pasable, al igual que los sonidos y la jugabilidad, en estos aspectos practicamente no hubo cambios en estas 3 entregas.

6.5/10 - No hay Logros, ni cloud o CROMOS que ayudarian a darle mas valor al titulo, como otro aspecto negativo el juego esta totalmente traducido y doblado en 4 idiomas, pero no incluye al español, algo honestamente incomprensible y no hubiera costado mucho hacer esta edicion en español.

Alone in the Dark 3 is the third game in the series and has the same gameplay as the second game, but with some improvements and a new setting. This was also the last game in the series made by the original developer Infogrames.

Edward Carnby returns as the main character, the same paranormal investigator from the previous games. Your job this time is finding a missing film crew in Slaughter Gulch. This ghost town in the Mojave Desert has a dark history and is supposedly cursed. You'll also see Emily Hartwood again, the second protagonist from the first game, but she's not playable this time.

There's still a lot of combat, but there aren't as many enemies constantly thrown at you, so you get a better balance between fighting, puzzles, and just trying to survive. The Western setting feels refreshing for the series and works surprisingly well with the Lovecraftian horror stuff.

The controls are a bit better than the earlier games, but they're still pretty clunky since this is an older game. The camera angles also work against you and the difficulty can be pretty brutal at times.

The puzzles are pretty good overall, though some can be really tricky to solve. A few of them are downright cryptic and will test your patience (they tested mine quite a bit). You can explore the ghost town and desert areas around it, but like the previous games, you're basically following a set path through everything.

Alone in the Dark 3 doesn't bring back the survival horror feel of the first game, but it's a big improvement over the second one's non-stop combat. Anyone playing through the series or who likes action mixed with puzzles and horror will find this one much more enjoyable.

[h1]GİRİŞ[/h1]

İlk iki oyunu bitirdikten sonra çok vakit geçmeden 3. oyunu da bitirerek oyun hakkındaki düşüncelerimi paylaşmak istiyorum. Yine başlamadan önce şunu belirtmek isterim ki bu oyun ile birlikte serinin ilk 3 oyunu yeni nesil oyunlara, güzel grafiklere vs. aşinaysanız sizlere hitap etmeyebilir. Bu oyunun oynanış mekaniği de ilk 2 oyun ile aynı ve alışmak, anlamak ne yazık ki zaman alıyor. Bu yüzden daha önce bu tarz oyunları oynamadıysanız muhtemelen bu oyunu da sevemeyebilirsiniz. Fakat bu gibi oyunlara ve oynanışlara yabancı değilseniz ya da diğer bir deyişle Resident Evil’ın yalnızca klavye üzerinden oynanan ilk oyunlarını severek oynadıysanız bu oyunu da sevebileceğinizi düşünüyorum.

[h1]OYUN VE OYNANIŞ[/h1]

Oyunun oynanış mekaniği ilk 2 oyun ile aynı, tabii alışık olmayanlar için haliyle oynamak biraz zor olabiliyor. Fakat oynanışa alıştıktan sonra hikâye hızla akıp gidiyor diyebilirim. Mekanikle ilgili daha açık bilgi vermek gerekirse, karakterinizi ilerletmek için önce gideceğiniz yöne karakterinizi döndürmeli ardından yürümelisiniz. Etkileşim kurmak içinse öncelikle objenin önüne gelip menüden karaktere komut vermeniz gerekiyor. Örneğin bir sandık gördünüz ve açmak istiyorsunuz, önüne gelin menüye girin komut seçeneklerinden “search” ü seçin ve karakter sandığı araştırsın gibi. Yine aynı şekilde elinizdeki itemleri de kullanmak için envantere girip itemin üzerine gelmeniz ve ardından seçim komut vermeniz gerekiyor. Bu sebeple oyuna alışmak yaklaşık 15-20 dakikanızı alabiliyor. Fakat oyunları arka arkaya oynarsanız ilk oyunun ardından diğerlerini oynamak daha kolay gelecektir.

Oyundan bahsedecek olursak, ilk oyunda "korku teması" diyebileceğimiz unsurlar ön plandayken ikinci ve bu oyunda daha çok çatışma unsurları ön planda. İkinci oyunda düşmanlarımız hayalet korsanlardan oluşurken bu oyunda ise düşmanlarımız hayalet kovboylar. Bu oyun da 2. Oyun gibi bolca çatışma içerdiği için başlangıç bölümünü geçmem ilk oyundaki gibi oldukça vaktimi aldı. İlk iki oyuna göre bu oyunun haritası sanırım daha da büyük, bu da oyunda ilerlemeyi ve kaybolma durumunuzu arttırabiliyor. 2. oyunda olduğu gibi bu oyunda da kısa süreliğine bir yan karakter yönetiyoruz. Fakat bu seferki karakter bir kaplan. Kaplanla oynadığım süre boyunca yapmam gerekenleri bulmak epey vaktimi aldı. Bol bol gameplay videosu ile oyunu oynadım diyebilirim.

Oyunda hikâyeyi ilk 2 oyunda olduğu gibi topladığınız notlarla takip etmeniz mümkün. Diğerlerine kıyasla bu oyunda mini haritalar da bulunuyor ve bağzı bulmacaların çözümlerini oyun size bu yolla sunuyor. Son olarak oyunu oynarken muhakkak bol bol save alın çünkü öldüğünüzde oyun sizi çok geriye atabiliyor.

Oyunun optimizayson ve uyumluluk sorunu yok sanırım, sıfır sorunla oynayabildim oyunu. Fakat önceki oyunlarda olduğu gibi bu oyunda da ekran görüntüsü almayı başaramadım. Şimdi gelelim oyunumuzun hikâyesine.

Hikâye 1925 yılında geçmekte. İlk 2 oyundaki başarımızdan dolayı terfi almış olan Edward Carnby, bu oyunda Doğaüstü Özel Güç Dedektifi ünvanı ile karşımıza çıkıyor. Kaliforniya’nın Mojave Çölü’nde bulunan Slaughter Gulch adlı bir kasabada ortadan kaybolan bir film ekibinin akıbetini araştırmak için kasabaya adım atmamızla birlikte hikaye başlıyor. Kaybolan kişilerin arasında ilk oyundan tanıdığımız Emily Hartwood’da bulunuyor. Emily ise daha önce kasabaya aynı sebep ile gelmiş, hikâyenin bir kısmını çözmüş fakat daha sonra o da açıklanamayan bir şekilde ortadan kaybolmuş. Biz de bir yandan kötü ruhlar tarafından ele geçirilmiş kovboylar ile savaşarak diğer yandan da kayıp insanları arayarak yarım kalan davanın çözüme ulaşmasını sağlamaya çalışıyoruz.

Bahsettiğim gibi oyunun mekaniklerini kavramak biraz zor ve sinir bozucu. Eğer oyun mekaniğini hızlıca kavrar ve bulmacalarda çok vakit kaybetmezseniz oyunu yaklaşık 2-3 saatte bitirebilirsiniz. Ama bulmacaları benim gibi deneme yanılma yoluyla ve gameplay videoları izleyerek çözmeye çalışacaksanız tahminen 7-8 saatinizi alacağını düşünüyorum. Bunun yanı sıra oyunun animasyonları, çizimleri, müzikleri hatta çevre sesleri bile dönemine göre oldukça kaliteli olarak hazırlanmış. Günümüz oyunlarından her ne kadar çok farklı olsa de seriye ilginiz varsa bu oyunlara da bir şans vermenizi öneririm.

I wouldn't recommend because most of the puzzles are nonsensical try and see what happens type. Sometimes you can do some actions some times you don't, without a reason why (if I give an example it will be spoiler). Also, the hitboxes to interact with stuff are completely insane to find sometimes (I had to use an item in a certain place. It took me around 10 minutes to find the correct position).

So, after all, is not because of graphics or technology, but because of the terrible usability.

It made sense in that time, with not that many games, that you would make a completely random game so people would lose dozens of hours to beat a 4 hour game. But I don't think it is worth the time today.

Finishing the downward spiral of the series, Alone in the Dark 3 becomes cowboy/wild western horror. You know the tone the game is going for immediately in the opening when Carnaby not so subtly says that he's "alone in the dark," a phrase repeated a few times during the main game. Gone are most of the atmospheric horror elements, replaced by mildly spooky western themed settings and zombies that turn into demon cats upon death for some unexplained reason. The puzzles are more convoluted than ever, and there are some absolutely awful jumping puzzles included now. The combat is still clunky and about on par with 2's. There's also a weird stereotypical Native American/American Indian vision quest where Carnaby becomes a panther, too. Again, I think the first Alone in the Dark is the only game worth experiencing today.

Ennesima delusione. Dopo un sufficiente Alone in the dark 2, mi aspettavo di trovarmi davanti un gioco che imparasse dai propri errori per migliorare e tornare ai fasti del primo capitolo... e invece no, è riuscito a peggiorare ulteriormente.

Sono tante le cose che non funzionano in questo gioco, primi su tutti gli enigmi senza logica, alcuni dei quali potevano essere risolti solo stando in precisissime posizioni, inimmaginabili senza una guida.
La storia è di una tale banalità e prevedibilità che, in confronto, Doom pare un The Last of Us e persino alcuni testi sembrano riciclati dai giochi precedenti.
Poi il doppiaggio è qualcosa di allucinante, sia in lingua originale che, soprattutto, in italiano... ma quantomeno ha il pregio di regalare al giocatore momenti unici di fragorosa ilarità.

Alone in the dark 3 avrebbe anche dei lati positivi, come la possibilità di giocare una sezione di gameplay con un "personaggio" inusuale; inoltre, rispetto ai predecessori, vengono adeguatamente bilanciate le fasi action. Però è troppo poco per un sequel, non vengono apportati veri upgrade.

Esperienza che non consiglio a nessuno, mi spiace.

Es 1926, y tras el éxito de Edward Carnby en las dos investigaciones anteriores, se ha ganado el apodo de Detective Privado Sobrenatural . En esta ocasión, Carnby ha sido contratado para investigar la desaparición del equipo de rodaje de una película de cine en un pueblo fantasma llamado Slaughter Gulch, en medio del desierto de Mojave en California.

Nada más llegar, Carnby descubre que una maldición ha caído sobre el pueblo y que Jed Stone, un vaquero diabólico, es el responsable de la desaparición del equipo. En el camino, Carnby se encontrará con pistoleros de gran puntería y con almas perdidas sedientas de sangre a los que él tendrá que enfrentarse con ayuda de su fuerza y su pericia.

El juego es igual de aburrido y tedioso que el segundo. La verdad es bastante tedioso por culpa de los controles y porque el juego en general es muy extraño y raro de entender. Hay puzzles que están interesantes que te hacen pensar, pero otros son extremadamente confusos y complicados y ni te suelen dar ninguna pista. El juego es prácticamente lo mismo en cuanto a mecánicas que los anteriores, pero se cambia ahora a un pueblo fantasma con pistoleros. Las armas, algunos escenarios y cierta música es mejor que en el segundo, pero personalmente no me termina de convencer. El concepto no es malo, pero como que no logra tener una ambientación y enemigos interesantes.

Además, obvio tiene los mismos errores que los anteriores, controles y gráficos que han envejecido fatal y está emulado del dosbox. Una secuela bastante olvidable. Gasta tu tiempo jugando mejores cosas.

Arguably the best of the trilogy. It just depends on what your after. The first is still hands down the most atmospheric and survival horrory. The last two are more action adventure, this one having a western back drop which is fun. Graphically it looks best, sounds best, controls best, and has the best cutscenes. The logic puzzles in this one I feel will have you scratching your head the most so you'll prolly need a walkthrough to beat it. All in all a solid game to end off the trilogy.

Interesting change of scenery. So the first one had this Lovecraftian horror setting in a villa, second one had a Pirate theme going on and the third game is a Western.

This one is properly set for the screen and doesn't have the black bar the previous games had in DosBox. It is also a lot more newb friendly, with more settings for your difficulty and the game literally telling you what to do a lot of times. Other than that you get pretty much the same game with some pretty cryptic puzzles. I still needed a guide, but I think I could have figured out most stuff by myself.

Time to finish: 2,5 hours

Carnbey vuelve a las andadas y... Espera, ¡¿Se murió?!

Si bien hay cosas geniales en este juego, ya sea que por primera vez hay una selección de dificultad y volvieron una cantidad insana de puzzles antes que los combates, siendo este el que considero mucho más balanceado en su antecesor; hay cosas que no me gustan. Generalmente, con respecto a la poca intuición que este juego llega a tener ante sus antecesores. Aquí, al menos hasta la mitad final, se requiere mucho más del prueba y error (más que nada en las situaciones donde Carnbey debe perder para que siga el juego, siendo que yo ni me doy cuenta las pocas veces que pasa y reintento cada punto de guardado xd

Dejando de lado mis tontas quejas, el gameplay sigue tosco como la mierda; y hasta puedo admitir que lo sentí un poco mejor que en el 2. El comando de buscar/abrir fallaba mucho antes en comparación a esta entrega.

Me encantaron ciertos conceptos, como el enfrentarse a su "yo maldio-vaquero" o el volver de los muertos en la forma de un puma. Fueron cortos segmentos que me encantaron.

La boss-fight es una de mis quejas. Me encantan los puzzles para poder enfrentar al jefe, pero el puto cuchillo me desesperaba para cortar los cables ya que no cortaba un carajo cuando me acercaba. Es un angulo muy especifico. Por otra parte, el juego fue muy divertido.

Sobretodo, recomiendo jugar este en lo posible antes que el 2. No tienen nada que ver entre sí y este es más divertido. (me van a funar)

Ve své době celkem vyhypované pokračování, tentokrát zasazené na divoký západ. Zde už jsou nostalgické růžové brýle naprosto nezbytné, jelikož si hru pamatuji "hezčí a filmovější" než ve skutečnosti je. Grafický pokrok vůči druhému dílu je minimální až nulový, ale už jsou zde náznaky snahy o filmové vyprávění. Logika šla nyní zcela stranou a akční pasáže střídají, puzzle a kombinování všeho na všechno. Ale pokud jste, stejně jako já, dostali po dvou dekádách si celou trilogii zopakovat, zatněte zuby a nakonec se to podá a ve výsledku si opět užijete "klasické" ALONE :)

✅✅❌ Uscito in Italia nel 1996, [b]Alone in the Dark 3[/b] segna un notevole traguardo tecnico per la saga: è infatti il primo capitolo a sbarcare su supporto CD-ROM, vantando una localizzazione completa (testi e parlato) nella nostra lingua. Questo titolo chiude la trilogia originale con un mix di tinte grottesche e atmosfere ansiogene che tentano, in parte, di recuperare il feeling del capostipite del 1992.

L'ambientazione è quanto di più originale e bizzarro si potesse immaginare: un set cinematografico abbandonato nel cuore del Nevada, costruito sopra un autentico cimitero indiano (ispirato al classico cult horror "Poltergeist"). Il gioco oscilla costantemente tra l'omaggio e la parodia del cinema horror moderno (anni '70/'80), inserendo intermezzi al limite del ridicolo che trovano però una loro (fragile) giustificazione narrativa.

Questa scelta stilistica si rivela tuttavia un'arma a doppio taglio. Puntare così tanto su un contesto altamente eccentrico ha generato inevitabili buchi di trama e incongruenze. Non è raro che il giocatore si senta costretto a mettere in pausa per cercare di rimettere insieme i pezzi della storia, convinto di aver perso qualche passaggio fondamentale o non aver compreso bene i piani del protagonista, quando in realtà è la sceneggiatura stessa a risultare spesso frammentata e poco chiara. Un capitolo coraggioso, ma narrativamente deludente; paradossalmente, alcuni elementi volutamente esagerati - e che oggi chiameremo trash - rendono l'esperienza incredibilmente divertente.

Эдварду Карнби вновь поручают расследовать очередное дело пропавшей съемочной кино-группы под руководством старой знакомой Эмили Хартвуд снимавшая вестерн в реальном заброшенном городке "Слатер Галч" для экономии средств, который был когда-то построен убийцей Джебедайя Стоуном на месте священного индейского места, и нам придется отправиться туда и узнать тайну этого места и вытащить Эмили оттуда.
Сюжет довольно простой хоть и использует избитый лейтмотив про городок построенный на неком священном|проклятом месте для индейцев, который подается через записи пленок и записок в городке которые проливают свет на происходящее, но дыр в сюжете хватает, как например в одной из записок вообще имеет противоречия с пред. частями, т.к. внезапно оказывается, [spoiler]что родаками тутошнего глав. гада являются злодей из первых двух частей. И уже на этом моменте видно разрабы банально выдыхаются и уже начался кризис идей, что впрочем неудивительно, ведь во третий раз давать игроку тоже самое уже не прокатит, из-за чего серия отложилась в долгий ящик.
И самое главное, хоррорная часть полностью исчезла, ибо какой может быть хоррор если у тебя в руках Гатлинг-пушка и с таким раскладом страха нет. [/b] [/code]
[code] [b] Геймплей - Практически не изменился со второй части, но теперь упор уже сделан не на экшн как в двушке, а больше на головоломки которые довольно простые, но увы логика настолько замудренная и инопланетная некоторых из них, что тут иногда без заглядки в гайд не обойтись. К слову появилась настройка сложности которую можно изменить в любое время в трех показателях (Уровень здоровья, количество вашего урона и противников), что облегчает в некоторых местах игру.
И кстати на некоторое время, нам дадут поиграть за гепарда в которого вселилась душа ГГ и нам добыть артефакт, чтобы воскресить самого себя после того как были убиты по сюжету. [/b] [/code]
[code] [b] Графика - О ней вижу смысла говорить, так как графика трешки ничем не отличается от первых двух игр (Считай своеобразный самостоятельный аддон) кроме разве что локаций, которые теперь вместо особняков заброшенный городок Дикого Запада. [/b] [/code]

Третья часть на фоне остальных частей классической трилогии AITD вышла самой слабой из всех и не удивительно, подавать тоже самое только в третий раз вряд ли прокатит, ибо уже во второй части были началась беды, а тут тем более видно. Рекомендую, но только вместе c остальными частями AITD, а так отдельно вообще не рекомендую.

Alone in the Dark 3 manages to be an improvement over the second game in nearly every single way. With better controls, more fluid combat, and fair difficulty, everything feels significantly more polished. With that being said, Alone in the Dark 3 never really excels at anything. Moreover, despite having better controls, it never manages to grasp the charm of the first entry. Regardless, even though Alone in the Dark 3 isn't anything too special, I'd still suggest giving it a try.

You cannot buy any of the classics individually.
The classic trilogy is attached to the 5th game.
Included is also: Jack in the Dark, which is nice.
And I am not sure why is it bundled in this way.
But either way: I have to recommend this pack.
The included classic are from 1992,1993,1994.
And they are the first games of this cool genre.
They are basically the grandpa of Resident Evil.
A grandpa of the Dino Crisis, Silent Hill and etc.
This is that first game, that combined all these:
Survival, Horror, 3rd-Person, Puzzles, Inventory.
Basically, the first of this particular genre style.
Although.. Resident Evil did popularize it more.
But still, this franchise needs more recognition.
Especially for being the first in so many things.
Story-wise: It's mostly neat, but confusing too.
Like the second game is suddenly pirate world.
And the third game is suddenly a western one.
There's not much of a connective tissue there.
I'd say the story was mostly all over the place.
The difficulty is hard, due to the meh controls.
But that's to be expected, so I don't mind this.
At some point you are a Santa Claus, then kid.
Like yeah, the story is kind of weird, whatever.
The visuals are very nostalgic, great retrovibe.
And overall: I'd recommend it, for retro lovers.
I doubt modern kids would enjoy such classic.
But I must give the trilogy my positive review.

А это треньканье в голове из начала просто отбило желание проходить, но это как взгляд человека, который родился в 2004, и для которого игрой детства является халф лайф 2, но это условно, так что возможно вы сумасшедший гик и угараете по старью похлеще Зяблика из Американского пирога и вас затянет. Çıktığı tarihe göre değerlendirecek olursak, efsaneler arasına adını yazdırmış oyundur. Resident Evil'in atasıdır. Günümüzde oynamak için ciddi sabır gerekiyor çünkü oyun kesinlikle elinizden tutmuyor. Kontrollerden tut, oyunun trick'lerine kadar her şeyi kendiniz keşfedip bulmalısınız. Korku / Hayatta Kalma türünün atası olup, sağlam bir envanter yönetimi ve bolca save gerektiriyor. Çünkü nerede ölebileceğinizi asla tahmin edemiyorsunuz.

Şahsen hantal kontrollere dayanabilecek sabrı gösteremedim ama yine de bir göz atmak istedim... Sabrınız ve türe ilginiz varsa mutlaka denemelisiniz.

The third game in the Alone in the Dark series, Alone in the Dark 3 is seems to borrow a bit from both the first and second games, resulting in a game that mixes action and horror pretty well for its day and age, even if it’s not really that scary (at least it’s take place during night in a haunted town, though, compared to Alone in the Dark 2’s setting of a large gangster-filled mansion in daylight).

Gameplay is as you’d expect if you played the older Alone in the Dark games, with clunky tank controls that work okay for the most part, aside from some issues with finding items and fighting enemies due to camera angles. Still, there are some definite improvements to the other games, including a different setting from ghost pirates, a better story with more cutscenes and setpieces, the inclusion of difficulty options, and great music that doesn’t get too repetitive.

Overall, while in my experience being more difficult than the other two games due to the harder puzzles, Alone in the Dark 3 is still an enjoyable enough time, if you can look past its obvious datedness.

Интересный кинематографичный старомодный квест. Разумный баланс между количеством загадок и боями. Решение загадок не всегда логично. В конце игры сложность повышается и лично я не был готов к этому. В некоторых местах можно заплутать. Управление всё такое же плохое.
В целом времени на игру не жаль, оно того стоило.

El tercer título de la saga vuelve con su famosa función "abrir/buscar" clave para hacernos estancarnos en lugares recónditos sin saber que hacer ni como proseguir. Seguimos usando (como hicimos en las dos anterior entregas) al famoso colorado mala leche yeta hijo de puta de Edward Carnby. Esta vez tenemos que rescatar a una conchuda.. Muy buen juego !! AitD3 falls directly between the horror of the original game and the shooty-shooty action of part two and actually reaches a pretty darn fun middle ground. Not scary, mind you, but fun.

This game has you exploring a wild west ghost town for a missing movie crew. As such, you'll face off against an army of ghostly cowboys. You can gun them down, but ammo is limited... and worst case you can brawl them back to into the grave. In general, the combat feels more refined in both melee and ranged situations. It really feels like an early resident evil.

The puzzles on the other hand are not so smooth. While "Moon Logic" would be a bit unfair, it requires more than a little mental gymnastics to solve even the best of puzzles. I absolutely resorted to a walkthrough and still struggled to solve many of them. A few puzzles, I still don't understand.

The problems here come from a few directions.

First, like AitD2, it relies heavily on visual clues but the graphics don't have the detail to help you and its hard to tell which are "Interactable items" and which are just background.

Second, you need to be EXACTLY in the right pixels to trigger an event. If you're even a single step away it'll report that there is nothing there or that "I can't use the item here". This gives a false impression that it was a background item when I just wasn't precise enough.

There were a few places that did require jumps in logic, or at least knowledge outside the game's text. These scenes are made far worse by the above issues. One involved a gravestone that looked like "D.E.J" but turned out to stand for "One Eyed Jack" and you need to use an Ace of Diamonds... a clue you'd only know from facing jack in AitD2. (It took me far too long to put that together)

One final thing that needs mentioning is that the developers did wonders for avoiding no-win situations. You can't leave a one-way path until you've collected all the REQUIRED items from the previous zone. I did a royal job F*ing things up but I could still beat the game.

The emphasis on "required" is intentional because you can leave behind very important items and make things far more difficult for yourself. In my brilliance, I'd even missed a magic knife used for fighting the last boss. This meant that the boss had unkillable minions defending him throughout the battle.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with this one. If you like classic survival horror, this is a fine choice.

A must play. Nostalgic for me.
It has some bad combat moments and 'how was I supposed to know that' puzzles but blame it on the 90's.

Pasamos del terror Lovecraftiano de la primer parte, al combate y acción con piratas de la segunda, para cerrar la trilogía con vaqueros fantasma.

Esta tercera entrega toma lo aprendido en los anteriores juegos y ofrece una experiencia más equilibrada entre combate, cinemáticas, atmósfera y acertijos. Aunque nuevamente ya no es posible seleccionar al personaje principal.

Aunque mejora la experiencia con respecto al segundo juego, no logra superar a la originalidad ni ambientación de la primer parte al no ser un escenario amplio, sino más un juego lineal.
