More or less a tech demo for what would become Melos and Marina's sequel to their first full-length game, Anodyne. That shouldn't discount what this game does itself, however. Much of the geometry is rudimentary and simple, far more minimalist compared to the alien surreality of Anodyne 2. But the story is more involved with the real world complexities of what it means to be "Asian."
Melos has explored this topic in later projects of his in his music as well as in future Analgesic games such as Sephonie. The protagonist, Yuito, is a Japanese-American who is exploring the memories of his dying father to gain answers to why his father was the way he was. Now, I'm not totally sure how much I can realistically add to the conversation as a euro-american, nor is it entirely my place to say it. However, something I've noticed especially among Asian Americans is how there seems to be genuine community with one another regardless of their own cultural background, whether Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Han Chinese, Khmer, Malay, Tibetan, Austronesian, etc. Perhaps its how their shared treatment as an outgroup of euro-americans, perhaps its some similar cultural traditions, perhaps its the cultural blending Asian Americans have in similar fashion to that of euro-americans in the "melting pot" of this country, so to speak. I can't say, I'm not Asian myself. Though I still have no doubts cultural chauvinism still plays a role in Asian American though, more likely from Japanese and Han Chinese people. As the game points out, being Asian American, or Asian in general, is not one monolithic experience. Asia comprises of so many cultures, peoples, histories - some underrepresented, some overrepresented. Yuito, Japanese-American, feels that sense of community as an Asian man, but, as Melos points out, what exactly does he have in common with every single other Asian man in the world? Why do we see such community in categories made for us, among people who we really don't have that much in common with? Is it because of those categories, or do we find community among those who see us as human? Sometimes we find community among others who faced the same dehumanization and discrimination we have, because of those shared experiences. In turn, perhaps that blossoms into its own unique culture, into subcultures upon subcultures of its own. I will say, much of Melos' exploration of this topic, and his development of the narrative, feels incomplete in some sense? Perhaps just as our own memories are also incomplete, much like the ones we explore in Yuito's father's mind.
Really though, the game itself is quite short, but at least a decent experience. I'm a big fan of Melos and Marina's work over the years, with Anodyne 2 genuinely being one of my favorite games of all time. All Our Asias is interesting as an experimental title in the duo's ever-expanding catalogue. It feels more like a tech demo for the team's later 3D outings, but the atmospheric, dreamlike, pixelated, polygonal landscapes pull you in. I love the ps1-era graphics, though the border art and movement were giving me late 90s pc game vibes. And of course, I can't forget the wonderful soundtrack that scores the experience, composed by Melos as well as some guests this time, including Equip! It's kind of interesting that Melos has had some overlap with the vapor scene, I also noticed BarchBoi was one of the testers too. His music is incredibly serene and tranquil, while equally mysterious and sometimes unnerving. You can kind of tell that his headspace was similar to when he was composing for Anodyne 2 - some of these songs I almost thought were also in that soundtrack! Also as per usual, the game gives you the opportunity after you finish the game to explore a bit beyond the bounds of the beaten path the rest of the game took you along. Though I'm not entirely sure how much there is to really see compared to that of their paid titles - the game itself isn't very long or expansive as their other works of course!
As a short, bite-sized experience, I recommend it. Just don't go in expecting this to be longer than 2-3 hours, if that. The narrative could've been a bit more fleshed out perhaps, but the game still provides a meditative experience over identity, culture, and life in the face of death. The music and art are, as they usually are, great, and I'm now tempted to purchase the fan pack for myself!

It's not a bad game. But I got frustrated.
I like the aesthetic, the music, and the message, but the story was NOT strong enough to make up for the slow, boring, and basic platforming... which is most of the 'gameplay.' I really wanted to like this game. I'm not Asian, but my dad is an immigrant and I was really interested to hear the dev's ideas on diaspora; all I got was basically what you can infer from the beginning: "'Asian' is too broad a category and there are other reasons to feel empathy for others." Again, I agree and the dev seems like a really lovely and thoughtful person, but as I was steering my slow-ass ship through the memories of a guy that I, in my playthrough, never got to meet.... I just got increasingly frustrated. Especially when I missed a jump and I'd float down three excruciatingly-slow levels.
It was alright. The sluggish movement made it take a bit longer than it really needed to.
my first playthrough of this mostly solo melos venture, and a blind spot i was happy to finally correct. as a fan its very cool to see how directly this bridges into anodyne 2 by giving a first pass at various aesthetic ideas that are refined and repurposed later, as well as implementation of non-abstracted real-world concerns that are prodded at again for sephonie (to which melos also contributed writing, interestingly). my overall experiential takeaways are the compelling flow of the dream logic, rarely if ever jarring, simply a visual and emotional run-on sentence where u are desperately attempting to accomplish a task that ur one Waking Up away from realizing you actually have all the time in the world for and there's nothing to be frantic about. analgesic's games are always conscious of themselves as a constructed space from which you must return to reality, and are very careful about what they nudge you towards bringing out of them when you do...art is a Memory for far longer than it is an Experience. the lo-fi, sparse dreamscapes are interesting to wander, with a slight rigidity on your movement to invoke a lil texture, but ultimately they are a conductor to place potentially irresolvable ideas within u to be chewed on...placed within the context of "asian" experience, but these ideas will remain broadly relevant for as long as our world is so materially fractured. even an imperfect connection is worth something.

Až na tieto drobné neduhy som si túto krátku experimentálnu F2P hru, s pravdepodobne nejednoznačným koncom, užil.

This is the one game by Melos/Analgesic I didn't like.
For a game that's 100% walking and reading, character and camera movement were way too clunky. Exploring grants zero pay off other than hitting invisible walls. The graphics, rather than minimalist, felt lazy. The story, or the way it's told, can be hit or miss; in my case, I grew tired after beating around the bushes so much.
I'm not trying to convince anyone not to play All Our Asias. You can always find something of interest to take from their games, something that will change you even if just a little bit, be it an idea, a point of view, an unconventional story you'll hardly find anywhere else... but for me, that alone didn't hold the game together.

All Our Asias is a moving, succinct game. One of my favorite aspects of Melos Han-Tani's games is after I'm done smiling, laughing, and crying, I often find myself researching subject matter that is dealt with in game.
Totally worth your time. Though the writing can be on the nose at times Yuito is one of the most fun protagonists I've ever seen. Very much a walking sim that you take your time to enjoy. A little frustrating dealing with the invisible walls but an unforgettable experience.

This is a strange game. It's a walking sim, which I don't mind, but the story is a bit confusing. That might have been intentional, I'm not sure.
However, I absolutely loved the whole vibe, with sometimes dreamy sometimes trippy 90s visuals and a great, vaporwave/dreampunk-inspired soundtrack.
I couldn't relate much to the story but I liked the themes of race and empathy. It made me think, which I always enjoy from a game.
I had a 100% great time with "All Our Asias" so far. I don't understand what kind of person would criticize a gift, but even if I wanted to, I wouldn't have anything negative to say about this game. The music, retro graphics and gameplay are very relaxing. The categorization Walking Simulator is not wrong, but unfortunately it has a negative connotation for no reason. Why would a visual novel or playable movie be a good thing but a walking simulator not. I enjoy exploring this surreal world and getting an important message told in a great way. Analgesic Productions' games manage to make me look at the world from a different perspective every time. The writing is some of the best and most unique I've seen. While many big productions such as FF16 fail to captivate me with their mindless, clichéd stories and dialogs
I look forward to every new line in this game.
Nevertheless, I think that the action-adventure "Anodyne 2" and the 3d platformer "Sephonie" are a better entry point for newcomers, as they are among the best indie games for me. In my eyes, Analgesic Productions' games are proof that video games can be art because of their uncompromising individuality.
I'm definitely looking forward to playing this game to the end. Thank you for this great gift.

This game is simply, incredible.
The art style, all pixelated and retro, feels somewhat nostalgic to old school games and I just love it. Even most of the screen is taken up by a device and all text is displayed in a box. I love it.
The music is ever so fitting. Nice and relaxing when it needs to be and creepy and ominous when it needs to be.
The movement of the game is so polished. I love how floaty it feels. Jumping around has never been more fun!

Honestly, it's criminal that this game is free, it's THAT good. I enjoyed every single second. I hope to see more games take inspiration from this because it is truly a spectacle.

Lovely, dreamlike PSX aesthetics with some pretty cool camerawork here and there coupled with some great music. The writing, as others have pointed out, can be quite amateurish, although I don't think it's quite as bad as one particularly harsh review makes it out to be - they are right about how the protagonist is extremely annoying and how the overall message is very half-baked, but I think there's a few things here and there the writer was trying to say that maybe didn't come through as well as they could have [spoiler]e.g. the protagonist being a hedge fund guy who doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about his job is perhaps why he's a selfish jerk, that helping people and doing the right thing is actually very hard and takes real commitment, and that even if we have regrets and guilt it shouldn't stop us from trying to do the right thing etc.[/spoiler]. Gameplay-wise it is very limited, as another reviewer pointed out it's essentially a (cinematic?) walking simulator that punishes exploration until the post-game - in this respect it can be frustratingly padded at times, I realize the emptiness is part of the overall feel of the game but the few times you have to backtrack just feel tedious since the player avatar moves kinda slowly. In spite of it's flaws, it's short and - most importantly - free, and I can't say I wasn't aware it wasn't gonna be perfect going in. On balance I'd give it a 6/10 - it's certainly no masterpiece, but there are worse ways to spend 90 mins and it's at least kinda interesting from a game design perspective (and of course the music is lovely).
I love the artistic direction and ambience of this game. The story is interesting too.
I would love to see more games explore this low-poly/retro aesthetic in combination with sci-fi settings; two of my favourite features for a game!

a minimalistic exploration walking sim.
the story poses several questions on different asian cultures, race, generational legacy and market capitalism, and the way it influences human relationships, highlighiting both differences and similarities between one person and the other. the simplicity of the level design and platforming leaves enough room (and time) to think about these themes.
i enjoyed playing this game, however it does require extra patience to play it through in one sitting, any type of action being limited.
in conclusion: if u have 1.5h spare and just want to relax - this game is a sweet way to do it.

Amazing for a free game. It is a walking simulator but the story is interesting and the graphics are fun.
A compelling narrative about activism, capitalism, classism, and the importance of sympathizing with others, even if you may not have much in common. All Our Asias paints a portrait of America-- specifically America as it appears to working-class immigrants-- that is blunt but hopeful.
It's a short game, but I would definitely recommend playing it if you have the time.
Side note: I'm a huge fan of this game's HUD.

I won't lie, anything by this developer gets a thumbs up from me, there's an air of mystery with everything they make. There's a sense of despair but wanting. Something always feels missing but that's intended (whether that's seen as a technical/mechanical aspect or whether it's story-based). This provides more questions than answers and that's beautiful in my view, especially with the way it's portrayed, displayed and interacted with by the played.
The way this game handles its storytelling is really powerful, since the gameplay is more of an abstract vehicle to deliver its story. Melos's music had me completely immersed the entire time, as his music always does. It's rare for me to play games without watching something on the side, but I just sat down and was totally in this world for two full hours, and it was amazing. I grew up in the suburbs of Illinois, and my father has worked in Chicago for my entire life. So it was a very surreal experience to play this game about someone learning about their father, going through this dreamlike version of the city, seeing the real life bridge my dad has walked across every day to get to his office. This game has a very moving message about humanity, and learning to understand the complexities of navigating through our relationships with those who have wronged us. This was a phenomenal experience, and it gave me a lot of insight to the perspective of children of immigrants living in the US. I also really appreciated the minimalism, and I loved that, much like all of Analgesic's games, there's a postgame that lets you explore the ins and outs of the game in a way you can't through normal gameplay. That's always the highlight of an Analgesic game for me.

The story seems like it’s going to be one-note but then expands to something greater at the halfway point. The music conveys the emotions of each scene very well.

If you are looking for a fast-paced, dialogue-intensive, mind-blowing game with a serious punch in the face revelation at the end you won't find it with All Our Asias. Instead, the game is about a more realistic series of events that never seem to satisfy, ending up with a relatively inconclusive ending. This makes it much easier to sympathize with the main character and leaves the player reflecting on their own life much more heavily than a more crafted, fantastical journey.
The environments and music are awesome, and really drive the desire to progress in the game. While the game is about Asians, anybody can empathize with the overarching concept of identity crisis with a dash of class divide. I wouldn't say the game necessarily teaches or reveals anything of any merit, rather it brings up the topics and lets the player mull around with it themselves, because the topics explored are too controversial and inherent in everyone to really be given an answer to without seeming contrived. The only 'lesson' in the game I would say seems to be more of an obvious answer told by society, but there is still much to be explored beyond that.
I would like to see the author tackle the violent and chaotic nature of the core game further down the line.
While I would not say this is a strong recommendation, I still think All Our Asias is worth checking out. Even if it does not excel at any singular element, its story, music, atmosphere, and messaging are all decent, and for a free price tag, I think it's alright. The plot has its weak points, and I admit the world itself is probably a bit too large given the simplistic 3D detail that was chosen, but the novelty of the developer and his narrative choices are potent, and heartfelt.
This is a hard experience to pin down. On the surface, this is a narrative story about a young man trying to reconnect with his estranged father before time runs out for that possibility. Threaded throughout are notions of self identity, of racial identity, of lineage and kinship, of one's place in the larger social structure, and our connections with others on a human level.
The framing story involves the main character entering his father's memories in order to better understand the reasons for his walking out on the family many years ago. Yuito's father is of course dying, and so the protagonist utilises experimental treatment to enter a Memory World.
The concept of using cutting edge technology to enter someone's memories is hardly a new concept. Rendering that process as a Playstation era 3D platformer is to the best of my knowledge, a rather unique presentation choice.
The gameplay is very basic. You will have a conversation with some NPC with text to read, then you will navigate the memory plane in your little flying saucer. You must travel deeper and deeper into your father's dying mind to find the answers to your questions. The presentation of all of this is nicely done. The surreal landscapes are all nicely rendered in a lo-fi polygonal way which are at time surprisingly beautiful.
The narrative structure eventually descends into some kind of absurdist essay on the struggle of small business owners in Chicago, which actually made me exclaim out loud "this is nuts" but I was enjoying the strangeness of it all.
I'm not certain if this is intended to be completely straight laced and sincere, but the wildly veering story led me to assume this is all just designed to be a surreal trip in both a literal and figurative sense. If not, then forgive my personal interpretation. Perhaps as I am not an Asian-American man living in Chicago, my life experience is just too lacking to understand the nuances of the story.
Music in the game is great. The composer (and writer, coder, animator, designer, artist) has produced a large body of work for the game. In keeping with the overall tone much of the music is quite dreamlike and strange, but often it is beautiful and serene. There are a few brooding and unsettling pieces too, just to add a little menace to certain sections.
The latter half of the game involves one large fetch quest with a lot of backtracking. Impatient players will not like this game, but I imagine that most people who will be made aware of this title are the kind of people who are open to meditative narrative experiences.
This is very much a case of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The narrative is chaotic, the graphics are super lo-fi, the music is eclectic, the control is a little janky, the freedom of choice is minimal, but this all produced an enjoyable experience that is certainly worth trying for the price.
One word of warning, this is not an open world game, and exploration is NOT rewarded. I managed to get my little memory pod stuck in the environment on a number of occasions when I went too far off the beaten track. There are no secret levels to be found!
It's a free game from a well established designer. Although I own all the other titles associated with the developer, I have yet to play any of them, but this has certainly made me very keen to finally get around to Anodyne. I also enjoyed the project enough to purchase the fan pack premium DLC. There is a very generous amount of music to enjoy, and a great making of book which I will definitely delve into deeper in the future.
Great indie game. I really liked the writing and the overall surrealistic experience. Love the visuals of the PSX era and the open enviorments. Short but sweet little game. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. The music is fantastic, has some great ambient tracks that are very dreamlike. Would reccomend it.
Despite it's gorgeous PSX-style visuals and understated, atmospheric soundtrack, All Our Asias isn't able to be a gripping experience. The idea intrigued and, well, it was free. It's clear from the opening message that this is meant to be a very personal game, and for that reason I feel bad being harsh on it. However, I could not bring myself to finish it. It appears to have lofty goals as a narrative, but the dialogue is delivered without any flair and there is no flair or weight to the words themselves. About halfway (I think) through, I simply could not find the motivation to continue. I appreciate what the creator wants to do with this piece of art, but I don't think the medium chosen is the right messenger for this letter.
Not sure what to say, simply from my experience of playing it at a friends; I think this is a wonderful and evocative little game. It's only a few hours, so if you're reading the reviews, I'd say it's worth just popping it in and see for yourself how *you* feel about it, but that's up to you of course.

It's not very effective at it. More than half your time spent is entirely vapid meandering. If you're 13 and have yet to consider other people's perspectives, this may have value. Otherwise you're not going to get much out of it.

The PS1 polygonal aesthetic is REALLY COOL, also the dream plot reminded me of stories like "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" and such which really attracted me.
The game is kind of a walking simulator into a mind, with a son (which is stylized as a cute spaceship in the dream world) searching for his dying father memories.
A great pro to this game experience to me, which let me to not dropping before finishing, was the music and atmosphere. There is a GOOD OST (buy it to support the creator!) with nice chill and nostalgic vibes. Slightly reminescent to me to silent hill music, but more bouncy and less creepy.
The great cons to this game to is the story. I didn't dig into it. I found the MC really clueless and childish and stubborn to the point I felt it was due to a bad character design or even a way to make the plot procede faster...
So, I didn't really dig in the character development, even tough the narration of asian immigrants in north america is interesting, I'm not really into it and the writing didn't help me.

The game was quite surreal. I have gained some insight within the Asian community and addresses true feelings and doubts toward those who are mixed in race from Asia to America. Floating around the atmosphere felt interesting and intriguing, with an old PlayStation One style graphic to help set off the oddity. It’s a free too, so id day give it a try. There are a few things that could make the experience better but doesn’t set off the mood so I’d give it a 7/10.
The graphics are obviously supposed to be unintelligible but in a way gives the player a sense of what it’s supposed to be, as what PSX style is supposed to be. The environment is great, from simplistic looking geometry to image based texture. There are some places that are un-textured, but doesn’t ruin the experience and not that obvious to others who aren’t familiar with engines. I like the empty space, but I would like a bit more on the environment.
The music is very awesome, it sets off the scenery much better while floating within the plane of existence. The music resonated with certain scenarios without having the game to explain itself.
Some pointers to make the atmosphere much better for PSX style games:
- Lighting could be focused more. Have them baked into low resolution. Although it’s almost breaking the law of PSX a little, the low poly lighting effects (like faked god rays) will have effect.
- On the city map, there was a hexagonal building that was accessible, but had nothing going for it. Maybe add dialog or something as I wondered around there for minutes trying to figure out if I’m on the right track.
- The UI boarder around the screen space was cool, with the AUX at the bottom left. You could add a something to the right side of the screen, like a triangle compass or an objective screen.
Hopefully you carry this to your future projects :D

Some stuff to think about while you play this game. You should obviously play it. It's brilliant and free.
Enjoyed the thematic story and lo-fi atmosphere, although this is more of an experience than an actual game.
I'm not Asian. That said, this is still a wonderful perspective on how one relates to others through superficial qualities.
Having said that, two complaints:
1) Please implement a sensible control scheme for PC. Using Q and E to move the camera while using the segue control scheme of turning around with left or right while going backwards or forwards is silly. This was a problem with [u]Anodyne 2[/u] and it really should be fixed by now.
2) I wish more things were shown in the gameplay visuals as opposed to the text. For example, there's a scene where Yuito is said to rise up but that's only in text; one could very easily have made his sprite ascend vertically, at the very least.
But that's all nitpicking. The game's fantastic all the same and it's free to play so just get it!

All Our Asias is just right. It is brimming with wonderful environments, a thoughtful story, and fantastic music. The PS1-style graphics are simple, but evocative, and the short playtime left me on a high note. It could have been longer, and I would have been happy, but the 1.5 hours I spent with it were lovely all the way through. I honestly think it's a shame that the game is free, I would have gladly paid $10 and I still would have felt fulfilled by the end of it.
I love the way the game discusses identity and family and although the walking-sim style of gameplay might not be for everyone, I promise you will feel transported if you give it a shot.
If you like this game and want even more, please play Anodyne 2 (out now on consoles! hehe). It's a masterpiece, and it lives in the same aesthetic world as All Our Asias and you will love it. Please have a lovely day, and please keep supporting indie devs who make magical games like this one.
I really like the concept, the style and the story of the game. Great if you like single player story-centered games.

A free game about empathy and humanity. Scratches the itch of exploration and learning to see common interests rather than race.
I enjoyed the graphics. You can tell it's intentional as it render in 3d and not a 2d sprite. I loved the exploration focus by allowing platform surfing. I sometimes wish there were a little more landmarks, but at the same time I don't want to spend the whole game hunting either.
If you're not about empathy, or you're maybe a little bit racist, don't write 10 non-committal paragraphs about why this game didn't work for you as if you cared in the first place. Just admit you don't care.
Big yikes building a smear campaign on a free game. I guess the world is never going to run out of players that hate walking simulators but play them anyway.

Interesting
While I can't really call this a game in any real sense, it is an interesting little experience. The synth-y music, the aesthetic inspired by classic Japanese PC games, and a story that will probably resonate with a number of people, all point towards this being something that you should at least give a look.
It's a nice little walking simulator with PSX-style graphics, that are adding to the atmosphere of the game's world. You understand your goals, but you're constantly disoriented by this strange feeling that can't be explained.
The music compliments the gameplay perfectly. Warm synthesizers with a bit of noise to them are helping to maintain a chill, relaxed vibe, while at times reminding you of the uncanniness, and how abstract the world you're in really is.
I found the story being dry and very linear with not much to think about other than the main message, which is delivered only at the end of the game. It's a weird choice of narrative for this type of game, because it's short, and you're exploring your surroundings more than interacting with the actual story, so the message is kinda lost within the vibe.
If you like walking sims - try this game out! It's free, short, and provides a unique and interesting experience.
All Our Asia作为一款免费的步行模拟游戏来讲做的足够出色与优秀了，游戏以故意模仿上世纪90年代后半叶家用机3d游戏的风格讲述上世纪风格的故事给人带来的与同类游戏所不具备的感官体验。游戏流程大约为一个半小时，典型的短篇小品作。
在游戏中玩家扮演生活在大洋彼岸的亚裔yuito（下称唯人），唯人的父亲在唯人出生后就抛下了他，处于这一设定游戏整体便围绕着在唯人对于自己父亲在缥缈的精神（过去的记忆）世界摸索展开。虽然说游戏主题线索是父亲，但是标题好歹写的是亚裔主题，看得出作者打算两手抓突出围绕着两点的讨论。游戏前期来到日本缺倍感孤立的遭遇以及后面唐人街的篇章或多或少都有强化亚裔或者说美国的亚裔群体本身所处的”进退两难“的境地颇有一种里外不是人的感觉、游戏全篇无不暗示亚裔是作为一个庞大却脆弱不够紧密团结的集合，单纯从反映亚裔处境的角度看可以说是相当的尖锐，让人有置身那个年代仿佛自己也有切肤体验一般可以说All Our Asia完全对得起自己的标题。
但是讽刺的是这些有关亚裔群体本身矛盾、冲突的描写其实都是侧面描写的点睛之笔，相当冗长的围绕唯人探索父亲与过去的内容反而给人体验挺糟糕的。有的时候我都能理解游戏在这种过时家用机的画面表现想达到玩家触景生情去对某些主题的强调——比如迪吧还是夜总会的那个置身漆黑室内却充斥霓虹灯条的场景，我能理解者这实际上应该是什么样的场景要表达什么渲染什么，但是有关父亲的内容真的太糟糕了。可以说能理解作者想要讲什么样的故事，但是父亲的故事线叙事总有一股模糊并让人难受的感觉，就角色而言父亲完全也比不上出场特别靠后的将军这个角色（也可能是将军这个精神形象寄托了唯人的一些对某种缺失的需要，这也包含了对父亲的需要？）。剧透的东西我不多谈，但是可以说前面提到的唯人父亲抛下家庭的坑其实后面也没填上到底是为什么，没有更多的描述而如果说留下开放性结局给玩家遐想空间那也没有更多的细节让人真的能调动主观能动性去想。
不过尽管如此，游戏最后也算给唯人的精神之旅落下了帷幕圆满了故事，这毕竟是个抽象而朦胧各方面都点到即止张弛有度的短篇，All Our Asias借用这一个半小时的游戏时间很好的把作者想传达的无保留的呈现，绝不至于大失所望。客观评价，作为一款讲述过去的异国他乡的异类群体所展示的精神世界呈现给玩家的异色故事，All Our Asias无疑是非常优秀的。

A free Analgesic game, which is reason enough. There's an extensive book on its development which is also neat.
El juego está completamente en inglés, es una experiencia rara, como un j-rpg no exportado fuera de japón de la era del PSX como muy tardío, pero sin los encuentros de combate. Los personajes no pasan de ser punteros y siluetas humanas, solo el protagonista Yuito posee cuerpo e imagen (dibujo). El argumento es básicamente una mezcla de ciencia-ficción y drama con tintes políticos [spoiler] el argumento es un poco meh, "¿explicación del mundo virtual? ¿Entras en la mente del padre para al final hablar con todo el mundo menos con él? ¿Pa qué?" [/spoiler] con encuentros que no requieren mucho "stranding" (aunque sigue siendo un simulador de caminar o en este caso flotar). Bastante artístico y nada de arcade, es difícil recomendarlo para alguien que soporte ni los "walking simulators" ni las visual novels (sin avance rápido del texto), ni el estilo pixelado de finales de los 90. Si en cambio este estilo te atrae te lo recomiendo nada más porque es gratuito y no deja de ser curioso el ambiente que presenta.

If you have played and enjoyed any of Analgesic's other games, All Our Asias may be of particular interest, as it marks a point on the bridge between Anodyne and Anodyne 2 in a lot of ways. But the experience is worthwhile regardless.
