Storyline

Alaloth is a dark god who turned on his pantheon and came to the mortal realms. There he lies imprisoned in the Valley of Storms, where the four great kingdoms of humans, orcs, elves, and dwarves intersect. From the Valley’s heart, he spreads evil throughout the kingdoms, determined to extinguish any light of hope for all who call this world home. Storms, monsters, plagues, strife, and great dragons beset the land – it will require strength and courage to defeat Alaloth in his prison. The world of Alaloth is comprised of four vast territories. It's an interesting blend of CRPGs and Dark Souls. I've never played anything quite like it.

The game is a bit rough around the edges, some mechanics didn't work together, starting out the game was overwhelming and a little confusing. But like 2 days later I realized couldn't put it down - the gameplay loop and combat mechanics kept me hooked until the end.

I think developers went too big for their budget, but it seems like a genuine passion project and they're still adding free content patches to this day, so big respect to them for sticking to their vision.

Pros:
-Great isometric visuals
-Solid combat
-Dynamic skill tree that doesn't keep you locked to a specific class. You build your character as you learn the game. I originally started out as a warrior and by the end of the game ended up being a tank/archer combo which was very fun and effective
-Rewarding gameplay loop

Cons:
-UI was very confusing and unintuitive at parts
-VO for the books sounded really odd, I'm not sure if it was text to speech or what... I honestly would've prefered a developer just using their headset mic to voice the books
-Crafting seemed completely useless, I never felt like I had to craft anything except for the final armor set
-Most of the quests are fetch quests, and they bloat up your quest log real fast. Some of the quests are timed. If you're a completionist it gets VERY tedious. At one point I just gave up because I maxed out my character long before I finished the side quests.

This game has a good combat engine based on dodging enemy attacks, just in time parries, and kicking to shield break. There's plenty of content, enemy types, and abilities to try out to keep things interesting.

Having said that, there are a lot of really senseless design decisions. For example, your abilities, called Ways of Power, are all open from the start. But the abilities are nowhere near equally powerful. Puppet Wire has no limit to how many times you can cast it, and forces all enemies, even bosses, to attack your clone instead of you. Meanwhile summons, even those intended to tank enemies, have usage limits, die fast but do little damage, and don't actually force enemies to attack them. There is a rogue skill for invisibility with a cooldown of 20 that lasts for 8 seconds. And an Arcanist skill with a cooldown of 60 that last for 4 seconds but otherwise does the same thing. Why the hell would I ever choose the latter? You end up respeccing a lot but fortunately doing so is pretty cheap.

Anyway I had fun and the game isn't expensive. Hopefully the developer puts more thought into the ability tree in a sequel.

unfortunately the game is not created with kb+m users in mind. Its weird to have game on PC thats basically unplayable with kb+m. Unless you are octopus, then you have unfair advantage and you can play this on kb+m.

Ok, where to start with this one.

I wish there was a way to give a middling review, because that's where I'd be here. It's got some really great ideas and I really like a lot about it. Multiple races, a free-form system that doesn't stuff you into a particular class, crafting, a Tolkien-esque feel to it. All said, you might think it's just like anything else with those tags but it's really not. It's rather unique, and for that I've got to give credit where it's due. Plus, it runs flawlessly on SteamDeck.

The bad? Well, its hard. Like, really hard. And, sure, it's up-front about being all about skill-based combat but maybe I am missing something. Progression seems just.. off. See, quests and tasks revolve around a kind of rating system as far as I've seen. 1-4 "skulls" for a given area. The more skulls, the harder the area. That's fine. However, I started and picked up quests from NPCs and bounty board. Pretty standard. Except everything except the first quest was 4 skulls with maybe a 3 in there. Ok, I guess I am meant to jump into those? Well... no. You might get through if you play well, but the boss will just smoke you hard. You might think to level-up by grinding, to maybe build enough power to tackle those? No. You do not earn XP in a traditional sense and only gain levels in a milestone-like system. Anyone familiar with DnD might know that it's an optional way to provide levels to characters rather than dole out XP points as is standard.

The way this works is you have FAs, or Fighting Areas. You get 1xp for completing a FA which gives you a level. Once cleared, you can go back but only for a bit of extra loot. No more XP. Random enemy encounters do not provide XP, but sometimes loot. Not always, however. You should see the problem here. I assume the progression is to work your way from 1 skull FAs to 4 skull ones. Not sure how to do that when all quests seem to give you 4 skull missions. The only thing I can think of is that you are meant to wander the map and pick up every quest you can and sort through them to do the lower level ones first and build up from there.

You get companions and I found my first one. That's a boon to be sure, but still makes no difference in those harder FAs. The boss will tear them up and run you down before smacking you to the ground too.

I'm probably missing something, and I will keep at it because I can see the vision and it's pretty fun, gripes aside. Coming from playing No Rest for the Wicked, also marketed as a gritty Souls-like game, feels very off for Alaloth. Parrying feels good when it works, but to me it feels a bit inconsistent in Alaloth. You can get poise-broken through abilities and enemies seem to not have that penalty. You need to approach combat very carefully. I'm here for it, but for now I'm just a little lost on progression. Skill issue? Perhaps. I just don't know where I'm going wrong. One would expect that quests picked up at the beginning of the game wouldn't send you on an immediate death-march.

Last thing to note, and that is FAs containing multiple quests, death, and how that all works. Let's say you have picked up 3 quests that send you into one location. You enter the outskirts containing a small camp where you can cook and repair items. Then you go in. Once in, you cannot leave until you either complete the FA or die. You also cannot open your inventory. This means that you had best choose your 4 quickslots carefully, and there is no going into your bag to restock during. Once out of those quickslot potions/items, that's it. No swapping gear, no restocking, nothing.

Now, back to those quests you have in that FA. So let's say you are going through and finish 2 out of 3 tasks in that FA. Then you screw up and die. You get booted out to a Sanctuary where you respawn. Your gear takes a durability hit, you lose anything you might have picked up inside (aka all loot), and your quest progression for all quests inside are reset to zero. Couple this with all those areas being 4 skulls and you can see where I'm going with this. Sure, some tasks given have you just hunt down X number of monsters and those CAN be completed by killing wandering monsters on the map. But again, those are not technically FAs so they give no XP and/or levels. A bit of gold and/or loot.

Complaining aside, I've got about 5 hours in. Mainly wandering around and scrapping coin together to see what I might be able to buy to help my power curve. The cities/towns I've been to don't seem to offer a significant variety of weapons and armor, but I have found a couple of nice things. I went with a 2h heavy armor Dwarf and those heavy swings feel nice and crunchy when they connect. The combat is methodical and you need to utilize your guard breaks, spacing, dodges, parrying, and blocks.

Overall its decent and on-sale it was not a bad purchase. I can see wasting a lot of time on this, even if only to beat my head against the wall in figuring out the progression system.

Oh, you get your own stronghold and can decorate and whatnot. I haven't gotten to that point yet. Too busy wandering around aimlessly.

This is a really nifty sandbox action RPG. At first, it is stupidly hard to wrap your head around the combat, so I would recommend people to just go into their first, easiest Fight Area (FA) expecting to die. Don't use potions or anything until you can kill a room of mobs without taking damage, and when you get to that point, commit to the FA run. But once you get it, which might take like 20 minutes of trying, it should really click. There's no way to completely ignore it by playing a mage either because you cannot start out as a mage.

One thing I will say is that as soon as you get the hang of things, the game becomes pretty weird. Like you're an absolute god for like the first few levels, but then when you do 4 skull FAs, it feels like bosses have at least 10 times more health than they should unless you grind the hell out of an FA that can drop good loot for you, or just happen to get lucky. So that's another piece of advice, your build is almost certainly not the problem, because you cannot mess it up before you're like level 8 or higher due to how few skill points and so on you are even given in this game, so you can't really fail their allocation until you're high level.

One BIG negative for me is that the world is so insanely derivative that if you're a fan of a lot of different fantasy settings, you'll very, very quickly see references and basically plagiarised lore everywhere you look. They've basically just taken what they like from a lot of fantasy settings and just put it into their world wholesale. This is how an amateur Dungeon Master creates a world for whatever tabletop RPG they run, not how a professional game studio should create a world for their game. Warhammer fantasy and age of sigmar really stuck out to me as major... inspiration, I guess They took a lot of aesthetic design from those, naming conventions and so on. A song of ice and fire is another big source of inspiration and while it is a freebie, Lord of the Rings is of course there too, but that seems to be limited to pretty minor references here and there. Also, the pantheon is very uninspiring to behold.

So as a result of the setting being so derivative, I just stopped reading any and all lore entries, which is a shame because they probably spent a thousand hours writing those. As I said before, it's a good sandbox game, with a lot of stuff to do, pretty fun combat system and what more do you actually need from a small indie studio?

I hope the game does well so the team could maybe expand and create a very impressive sequel. Maybe hire more people to work on world building and writing so they can just rework all of their lore to be at least somewhat unique for whatever their next game is. I wish them nothing but success, and this is a very, very good first showing.

Когда я только начал играть в этот проект, я влюбился с первого взгляда:
1) в это путешествие где тебе дают право самому решать ,что ты хочешь делать на карте,
2) в изометрию,
3) в графику своеобразную,
4) боевку аля дарк соулс.
5) в ощущения, паралельно твоему путешествию, заходя на данжи. будут вставки небольшие сюжетные(например дорога повешенных трупов, приезд короля, разговор 2 братьев на дороге и тд.)
6) вариантов противников
7) возможность пригласить друга, чтоб он тебе помог. Друг может зайти за твоего союзника и помочь(хоть функционал и слабенький.)
Но на 30 часу игры начал подмечать то, что очень сильно испортило мне представление о игре.
1) 80 процентов квестов не нужные, сходи туда и возьми это ,а потом еще убей 50 скелетов. Поэтому я взяв с собой верных спутников, закрывал данжи и в итоге после убийства боссов в данжах, квесты появлялись сами, где требовалось сдать вещичку. И очень много всяких ненужных квестов я прошел стороной. Также чтоб Вы понимали...Беру я квест, в нем написано сходить туда то...а на карте указателя нет...и ты как дурачек пытаешься перечитывать задание и понять...куда же тебя направляют... Пару раз так и не смог справиться, пришлось открывать интернет и читать...и то из-за русс лок, пришлось менять язык игры пару раз. туда обратно и по кругу. Таких квестов около 12 было. Скорее всего игра забаговала.
2) Соратники тут скорее для галочки, что то говорят по их сюжетному квесту и моментами вставляют фразы на дружественных локах.(есть они у Вас или нет толку 0). Как и в бою они скорее как мясо.
3) Боссы на локациях интересных попалось всего около 7 шт. остальные усиленные версии обычных.
4) Кривая русская локализация.
5) Финальный босс разочаровал...очень. Чтоб Вы понимали драконы на карте, по сюжету были сильнее чем финальный босс. Он просто очень жирный.
6) Сперва при большом обилии первок, навыков все придет к тому, что как только Вы столкнетесь с очень сильным противником и на повышенной сложности тот же маг, ловкач будут отлетать очень быстро.
Итог: Если Вам сама игра визуально нравиться, то значит это Ваш клиент. Первое время она будет на своем шарме тащить. Дальше уже по Вашему интересу пойдет. на 38 часу я уже думал, что нафиг мне эти кривые квесты нужны, чтоб искать и думать как пройти их. Пойду по сюжету и закрою игру. В итоге ух какие бои интересные были до финального босса и насколько этот Обманщик оказался таковым. на твердую 7-10. Не считая кривоватости игра даст шанс насладиться ей во всей красе.

Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms - это игра из разряда к которым невозможно относиться без скепсиса. На это есть причина:
Выпуск 2024 года и графика Diablo 2 абсолютно не состыковываются, однако...

К сожалению к тому моменту, когда автор обзора покупал игру он не знал, что за графику брался Крис Авеллон занимавшийся в свое время Fallout 2, в коей мере автору обзора абсолютно ничего не говорит, ибо он не застал бородатых времен, а также не ценитель подобного.

И вообще автор обзора не был бы автором обзора, если бы не любил шерстить скажем "шахты steam" в надежде найти медь, где в конечном итоге находиться целый бриллиант. Да, именно бриллиант. Не зря же автор обзора вынюхал 70% возможного контента.

Несмотря на смущение в интерфейсе был создан персонаж и тут началось. Миллион контента. Глобальная карта, точки интереса, множество квестов, саундтрек, интересный билдострой и сложность. Даже графика начала нравиться, будто окунаешься в дебри памяти связанные с сильной ностальгией невероятно шакальности. Стоит только нажать на мини-карту, удивляешься, как красиво. По сути игра идеально преподносит дух мира героического фэнтези, где вы главный герой, который обязан помочь всем и вся, чтобы в конечном счете победить злое зло.

Это замечательно, не так ли?

Есть одно маленько "но".

Автор обзора около 15 часов игры пробегал с одним и тем же двуручным мечом, который нашел в первый час игры. А все из-за того, что он никак не мог предсказать в каких условиях окажется. Кто знал, что выбирав расу людей он не сможет найти другой двуручный меч получше, потому что в королевстве людей квестов на получение двуручных мечей нету от слова совсем. В конечном счете это стало делом принципов, пока автор обзора не зачистил все квесты королевства людей, чтобы двинуться к остальным державам, где квесты на получение двуручных мечей есть.

Суть проблемы, заключается в том, что разработчики не добавили подобного квеста. Новичок игры никогда не додумается, что выбор королевства как то повлияет на его экипировку, либо автор обзора странный человек, или ему очень сильно не повезло. На всем этом фоне в игре существуют кузнецы, которые абсолютно бесполезны, потому что они куют откровенно худшую экипировку в игре по сравнению с уникальными и легендарными предметами. И ковка с несколькими магическими сокетами никак их не спасает. Если убрать кузнецу способность создавать экипировку и оставить ему возможность чинить предметы, то он никак не измениться по своей полезности для игрока.

Разработчику стоит задуматься над тем, насколько кузнецы полезны, потому что кроме функции починки они ничего не выполняют. Для этого можно добавить чертежи, которые можно получить в точках интереса или тех же квестах. Это же элементарно. Честно, автору обзора не вериться, что никто об этом не задумался.

Но если убрать этот нюанс, то игра шикарная. Автор обзора однозначно продолжит играть в эту игру, а когда забросит, то отдохнет, и обязательно вернется. Однозначно рекомендую.

Don't judge this one by it's graphics. Fluid combat. a class system where you are presented with talents of several classes and choose which talents you want at specific levels. Such as rogue, warrior, pyromancer, druid, necromancer, warlock, rune master etc... there are many. You can have a band of four additional characters and choose two to go with you in encounters. The companion AI seems pretty good, though I wouldn't mind the ability to give them better gear (if you can, I haven't figured out how to do it). There is a gambling dice game that is similar to Kingdom Come's dice, though with only three dice. The crafting system is decent, though I have found items received through quests to be better than anything I can, currently, create. There is a bounty board for general questing, such as kill X creatures.

The downsides, for me, are the sheer number of quests. It seems like I am able to complete one for every four I pick up. While loading is fast, there is always a load screen when encountering an enemy on the main map, or entering a city, or entering a structure in a city. Because the combat is so fluid and fast-paced (you only control one character, the others are AI or co-op friends) only being able to use numbers for abilities can be cumbersome; custom key binding (as far as I can tell) is very limited, The story is fairly cliched from what I know of it so far. The music is hit-or-miss (pretty sure the inn, victory and dice music are a nursery rhyme).

All-in-all for an indy it's really good. I'd say 7.5 out of 10 for me.

Fairly bland overall. Clearly a lot of love went into making the scenery and it is lovely in the sort of old school baldur's gate aesthetic, but everything else just feels extremely generic. humans, elves, orcs, dwarves, go fight a demon. Wander around my very samey fight zones and awkwardly slap with a heavy attack and backstep every enemy. Don't worry about level ups they dont do anything, not do most of the skills (not that you get to try them, I played 3 hours and unlocked ONE skill, i made the mistake of choosing the fire elemental summons. It was neat for like two fights, then just died instantly anytime I summoned it. Couldn't respec, even though the game told me I needed to go to a shrine to respec, so I was just three hours in STILL smacking things with heavy attacks without much difference in gameplay.
They fill your pockets with useless crafting materials, weapons that MIGHT have like 5 damage more than your starting stick, and generally it seems like the game just doesn't have any real depth to it.

I was hoping maybe I was just missing something, but looking at the reviews its the same problems people were having with the game... two years ago.

A great game for anybody who enjoys slower paced, open world, isometric action rpgs. It closely resembles two other amazing games in the same niche, Divine Divinity and Svarog's Dream, while bringing in a lot of novelty as well. The graphics are really beautfiul and the music is highly immersive. Wandering around and exploring the world is a pleasure. The combat is more methodical and interesting than in Diablo, Grim Dawn, PoE, etc., thought it can still get a bit repetetive. The build diversity seems solid, especially thanks to the classless system. Highly recommend this one, even though it make take you an hour or two to get used to the unique mechanics.

Great game, a lot of fun.

It's a bit overwhelming at first with the volume of quests & a lack of direction of what to do & when. But over time I found this to be one of the games strengths. The freedom to travel around the map and do what you want, when you want feels good & allows you to build your journey/character as you see fit.

Combat is good enough, build variety is great and the game never gets stale.

Great value for money & even better if you get it on a sale.

認真玩了十個小時，我很喜歡這類的遊戲，但有些內容讓我懷疑人生(作者的)。
總結：遊戲內容龐大、文本設定極多、物品種類極多、遊戲引導幾近於無......

機翻什麼的可以接受但地圖依然是英文，遊戲的介紹很多、文本很多、人物很多、任務很多、怪物很多、地點很多、職業很多、技能很多~東西很多，但引導很少逛地圖接了幾十個任務，內容翻譯爛且沒有用訊息，「打倒哥布林王』在那？那區也行~沒有，調查烏鴉藏身處在那？方向？東南西北？完全沒有，連主線任務的引導也幾近沒有，反正就是到處跑。

藥水、食物、藥材、食材、武器裝備、鍛造材料種類很多，但大半都只是無用的東西，當有技能可以補血、有隊友幫打連錢都廢了，戰場只能帶四瓶藥但種類超過8種，食物幾十種但只能選1個增益，反而補血藥材補血多負重低唯一必備，食材......重、便宜、非戰使用。只是那負重就卡的你很難受，但有技能後依然負重不高。

所以我一開始就說我很喜歡這個遊戲，最困擾我的是引導，從你的回覆來看，應該是希望遊戲的人對於遊戲內容「去觀查、去發現、去思考、調整戰術」以取得更多的成就及樂趣，好吧~我承認我並不是善於思考的遊戲者。

至於結構像Diablo......確實只是像，Diablo正確的路只有一條、任務怪就在那等你，我只需要向那裡推進就好，或許是因為這樣我習慣了這樣的玩法，當我被一個巨大地圖、無數的目標、巨量選擇包圍時，一切都非常的茫然，我會再仔細的去理解並打開我那固化的思路。

另外，可以把字體加粗或調整放大嗎？對於一個有年齡的人來說這真是一個硬傷害。

Самая недооцененная игра в стим. Это рпг старой школы. Игра очень фриплейная, идешь куда хочешь, делаешь что хочешь. Есть только основная задача "победить зло", как в фоллаут 2 - сказали найти ящик и че хош то и делай.
Боевка топ, реиграбельность огромная. Стартовать можно за 4 расы, у всех свои королевства и квесты. Мир постоянно живет своей жизнью без героя.
Есть режим с 3мя другими героями, которые будут нашему мешать. Нет фишки типо "ты избранный и один такой крутой".
Особенно радует что игра не является клоном других игр, она полностью своеобразна и эта новизна геймплея цепляет и держит.

I hate traditional Souls games, it's a weird fusion of Eastern and Western game design - the UI is always janky so Christopher can fiddle with the inventory from his couch while downing his 17th bong today.

The stats are never autistic enough, the boss fights are tryhard masturbation sessions where you fight a 15 feet tall guy made out of deer ankles, the story often times feels like what George R. R. Martin would hallucinate on a last day of a Japanese food festival from teriyaki chicken food poisoning while ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ himself on a porta potty...

What a tragedy, truly - the core is solid and it's somewhere there hidden underneath the weird, however the end result looks like Elon Musk's naked torso - your eyes start to water after a while.

Alaloth is that guy.

It's derivative, the UI's still janky, however the combat just feels awesome and by Jove it's a Western fantasy - dwarves, elves, men & orcs.

Эта игра и вправду впечатлила меня огромным количеством контента. Это рпг не в привычном стиле, как балдурс гейт. Здесь интересно исследовать огромную карту, посещать разнообразные локации, читать местный лор ( который лично мне очень зашел, так как люблю фэнтези ), зачищать боевые зоны ( местный аналог подземелий ). Боёвка здесь в стиле дарк соулс, хотя я и не фанат соулслайк-игр. Разработчики выпускают обновления раз в три-четыре месяца, добавляя контента разной продолжительности. Сейчас в разработке длс, которое я с нетерпением жду. Для небольшой инди-студии это хорошая игра и крайне необычная. Желаю им дальнейшего успеха. Игру рекомендую.

This game has SO much potential!!!

The art is incredible, the combat feels really solid (although controller is the only "playable" experience for me) with a solid blend of good RPG/combat mechanics, and a lot of lore. I've played through twice, both as melee and magic, and still want to try a couple more builds before putting it down.

Personally, what I really want is changes to the xp system and the map exploration/quest progression - basically so I explore the map more intentionally. There is a LOT of lore, which I unfortunately found myself skipping over, because the "game loop" is to basically rush the dungeons to level up your character/build (which is the most interesting part of the game for me). There are random mobs across the map that I barely interact with, outside of side quests and to level up skills.

I'd prefer to not have FULL control of how I traverse the map (since it's a bit like a table top game). I'd rather choose where to go to, select the location, and if mobs interact with me I have to engage. It would make the map more dangerous/interesting. They can use the quests as a way to progress through each realm, before expanding to the others, which would also incentivize players to play characters from each race/faction (more re-playability).

Not being able to leave or access inventory when entering a combat area makes no sense.

1. The door is right there, let me out.
2. I just found a potion, let me use it. Nope, I found something else and it takes place of the potion. Why??? let me put the potion back.

You prepared. You fight through an area, you're low health, find potions, and walk into enemies that you know will kill you. You can't fight, you're going to die. Oops, can't drink the potions in your pocket, those are locked until after battle. Can't leave through the door you came in, just pretend it doesn't exist. How does that make sense?

Like a D2 style, has a lot of lore and story, some voice acted some not. Tons of quests to do and multiple difficulties. Im still working through the main story but it got its hooks in me.

DnD style of progression, stats, traits, "god abiltiies", and all the light medium heavy armor, tons of weapons including range and magic.

Build your character how you want, you can farm gear and know the RNG of loot of each fighting area.

The combat is action based, blocking and parrying and dodging.

Думаю всё таки высказаться об этой игре, точнее о её главном минусе, так называемом балансе. Игра изначально макает тебя лицом в чан, давая выбор лишь между вариациями миликов( милик с пухой и щитом, милик с двумя пухами и милик с двурой) и старт на милике он прям заставляет сосредоточится. Тут тебе и лови тайминг на пари, тайминг на блок, вовремя блок сбивай и тд. Вощем покажи скил. Но всё меняется, когда ты апнешь наконец таки 1 лвл и выберешь что нить не из мили, лично я купил первый же посох который встретил и первый же скил из ледяной ветки. Игра кстати позволяет брать разные скилы вообще, ограничение есть лишь на луки и кинжалы, где скилы привязаны к пухе. Так вот, как только я сменил мили на каст, всё пошло как по маслу, чем дальше прокачка, тем сильнее перс. И вроде бы как, так и должно быть, но противники они не растут в той же прогрессии, и уровню к 10-12 я уже был имба машина, при капе в 20 лвл. Но опять же, дам игре должное, пару последних боссов требовали от тебя ротацию скилов, тайминг и чутка бега...пару последних, но не финальный. Финальный босс, ну такое себе, если ты в ветке воды с заморозкой и шмотом на откат кулдауна.
И ты спросишь, а есть ли плюсы? Да конечно есть, в целом, игра очень понравилась. Куча квестов, наград, возможность собирать разные билды, боёвочка ,стилистика игры омолаживающая тебя лет на 20( играя в Alaloth так и ждёшь, что в дверь позвонят, мама откроет дверь, а её спросят: Дима дома? )

Теперь по минусам:
про баланс я уже говорил, второе что убило, это так называемый перевод.
он не просто машинный, он от машин паровых, века из 19-го.
причем в некоторых местах, ты читаешь нормальное описание квеста, а в другом квесте, у тебя просто набор слов.
маунта например, в игре перевели как гора. =)

Но не смотря на всё выше перечисленное, игру я всё же рекомендую. Сделано, как говорится, с душой.
7/10 игре ставлю

Y'as de l'idée et du potentiel mais c'est blindé de quête insipides, de donjons génériques. Le craft n'est pas fou, le loot est tout pareil, la progression est ... bizarre ? On lvl up en finissant un donjon ? bon pourquoi pas après tout .. mais alors on a aucun sentiment de progression, de montée en puissance. Les armures ne changent pas grand chose, les armes ne sont pas folles, les combats sont brouillons. BREF

C'est un petit jeu qui franchement m'emballait bcp au début mais qui s'avère assez pauvre dans sa réalisation et plutot insipide a parcourir, c'est dommage.
Mention spéciale au boss final qui est une vraie corvée.

Pleasantly surprised by the depth and quality of this game, ended up unexpectedly hooked on this one. It features a very large world to explore, along with a deep skill tree providing many ways to build your character. While the combat is difficult at first, I got used to it pretty quickly. Towards the end of the game, things became a bit too easy, and I would have liked a difficulty slider to make things even tougher. Absolutely looking forward to sequels & DLC.

Das Setting ist zwar nice und wer kein Bock auf ewiges lesen hat, dem sollte es gefallen....aber sich durch ein isometrisches Spiel mit WASD zu steuern....nee, fühlt sich irgendwie nicht richtig an. Spielt sich nicht wie BG und auch nicht wie Diablo. Dem Held kannste unterdessen beim Laufen die Schuhe besohlen oder einfach einschlafen. Im Kampf sollste dann wieder ne Reaktionszeit haben, wie nach drei Tassen Kaffee, während die Steuerung übers gampad wiederum, dies gar nicht zulässt. Von daher kann ich es als RPG nicht empfehlen. Erst recht nicht als Hack`n Slash.

Прошел игру за война милишника дуала топор+ мейс.

1) По началу было интересно изучать игру, локации, квесты, данжи и был даже челендж когда наткнулся на первых драконов, огромного краба = как их блин убивать то, когда ни шмота нет нормального, ни дпс, 1 напарник только, еле еле завалил шадоу дракона, вот это круто. Но потом разобравшись стало не интересно.
2) Самое простое играть магом, качаешь в элементал удар молнии 550 дмг, в аркане шип 450, берешь навык +40% к дамагу и еще пару спеллов, собираешь шмот на + маг дмг. всё. напарники танчат, ты расстреливаешь всех.
Если очень хочеться милишником, элементарно = сразу в начале идешь в пустыню к столице орков, заранее закупаешь у эльфов или гномов металл на - расход стамины, рядом в местном городе от столицы орков закупаешь черных жемчужен, + еще нужны бревна кожа и жидкость (это все выпадает в первых данжах или с мобов на глобальной карте). В столице орков крафтишь 2 мейс + 116+ дмг. Далее берешь скилл + 8% к стану на мейсы = всё. Все мобы-босы стабильно станяться на 2 секунды, далее просто раскачиваешься = первый навык берешь в аркан = клон, в элементал = вода стан, в войне = 1 скил 1 ветки на - резист к стану, далее можно стелс взять лечилку уже не важно особо. Всё, все бои с мобами, боссами = в начале стан на босса, усилялку, вливаешь дмг, далее клон, опять дамаг, отошел = напарники танчат, вливаешь дмг = повторить до победы.
По шмоту проще за гномов начинать квесты делать = у них дают отличный одноруч топор за квест + 50 фокуса. Крутая броня + 41 дмг легкая.+ шанс стана 18% доп. амулет + 25% к хп.
Из специализации пассивки я взял у некроманта Apex (за любой дот от удара ты получаешь + 15 хп и + 10 фокуса), и у шамана + 20% реген фокус
3) по контенту = локации музыка действительно все красиво по началу,думаешь есть смысл глубинный история , но потом понимаешь = это всё пустое мертвое. все события квесты просто прокликивал не глядя, лишь бы быстрее дойти до финального босса.
4) мы можем играть на выбор за одну рассу (человек,дварф, эльф,орк), + есть дома у каждой фракции, вроде думаешь круто, уникальные истории, но опять же ничего интересного по итогу. все клонировано, столицы расс клон на клоне , таверны, торговцы, города и т.д.
5) Вывод: чисто побегать, послушать музыку, посмотреть на красивые локации = ну ок. Что то глубоко , сложное по раскачке, крафту = это не та игра.

i was enjoying the game until i got robbed in a inn and lost 100k gold that from what im reading youre sol on getting it back. Sure its pretty easy to grind gold but thats just lame, slim hope to run into the npc again somewhere along the way. I am NOT a souls-like game player and I LOVE this game. The first few hours (3-5) were hard as I had to learn the ropes but if you do side quests/get money and buy good gear BEFORE you start gaining 'levels' the game is much easier. Once I had decent gear the 1/2 skull dungeons fell easily. I'm still playing so that's all I've done so far but this game is excellent. I've heard there are different events/quests if you play different race and alignment??? Not sure how many 'combos' but that in itself is amazing if true! Even if not, I'm loving the game and the money spent was more than worth it! LOVE IT. Good job devs!!!!!

So... you came across Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms and you're thinking of giving it a try. That's exactly what I did and decided to trust Gamera Interactive with this one. You know what? It's turns out to be a very fun little game! Well.. not so little. I've spend 29 hours to reach max lvl 20 and kill THE FINAL BOSS: Alaloth. This guy, THIS GUY!! pissed me off! This was personal :D Hard fight! After a dozen or so attempts, I've killed the bastard. It felt really rewarding. Speaking of hard, trust me - you will quickly get a hang of it and in time, realize, the game is fun a moderately easy. What I like is that even a simple skeleton can be deadly even in the late game. I was pretty bad with Parrying the hits from monsters, so I've decided to just Dodge most of them throught out the game.

I will try to put out few key points when it comes to overall experience which was mostly good, sometimes annoying and not much of bad actually.

THE GOOD:

Art design, fabulous hand drawn locations, world map, interesting world & story, monster design and fun fights

THE ANNOYING:

The game is made with a controller in mind and I'm a PC guy. Even though I didn't had major issues, I can't say it's been a great expierience.
Crafting system could get some more love. I was only able to make regular gear, nothing fancy. The game provides a lot of "crafting materials" like monster fangs, horns etc., but there's no option to use them, at least I didn't figure out how to.
Some Tombs are closed - you can reach them only by receiving a quest. This should be stated before you reach the place.
ONE LAST THING, GAMERA INTERACTIVE, please add an option to forward time within the city! Thanks.

Overall, I highly recommend you trying Alaloth. Reminds me of Sacred, Pillars of Eternity and few other great and old cRPGs out there.

It’s a game that’s a bit like Wartales, but with real-time combat that’s reminiscent of souls-like games. The combat is tough, but it’s also incredibly addictive. The progression system is fantastic; you really feel like you’re getting stronger and stronger. Plus, the game has a rich and detailed lore with lots of interesting houses and tales, but it’s not quite a RPG in the traditional sense because there are still meaningful choices to make. Ah, and the graphics are STUNNING, handcrafted pre-rendered locations that are breathtaking. Only for this the game is worth it!

Alaloth fa subito intuire che prende spunto dai classici gdr dell'epoca. Nella mia vita ho consumato, perchè dire solo giocato sarebbe poco per quante ore ci ho fatto, una marea di gdr: Baldur's gate, Knights of the old republic, mass effect, dragon age, icewind dale, neverwinter nights, i fallout e tanti altri. Alaloth però non riesce nel prendere il bello di questi giochi e l'idea di un gameplay alla dark souls per quanto interessante è fallace nella realizzazione a differenza di altri prodotti come No rest for the wicked (molto bello). TUTTO è mediocre: i nemici hanno un ia davvero banale che consiste nel correrti addosso e attaccare, gli sfondi sono piatti e non creano un'armonia con i pg che sembrano appicciati male, la musica in loop fa venire il mal di testa e l'incipit di trama è carino ma reiterato una marea di volte. Not very good. Full of old archaic rpg systems that make it feel like the game came out 10 years ago instead of the 1 year ago as of when I wrote this review.

The quest system is full of fetch quests and basic kill X amount of enemies missions. The rewards are all over the place from useless trash for difficult area clears to best item in the game for just running around and talking to a bunch of people and 1 dungeon.

The itemization was not great either. I played a dagger rogue and there were zero quest and dungeon drops for daggers outside of 1 very easy to do quest that gives you what is probably the best dagger in the game. Meanwhile I've gotten 30 different 1h swords mostly useless because the rewards aren't given out in a meaningful way. The stats on the items aren't very meaningful either.

The combat is very basic, and it's close to being good, but it's very janky. This is the only single player game I've played where I felt like I had internet lag during the combat. It definitely feels like I'm playing a similar game from 10 year ago.

There are lots of balance problems as well. Too many specific things to go into here. All the usual things perks/ enemies/debuffs etc. It's not a deal breaker, but it really disappoints me to see increases of 2-3% for useless stats or 10 second duration buffs where my cast animation is 2 seconds and I still need to play slow because the buff isn't really meaningful enough to change things.

I got this game a couple years ago and bounced off of it initially because it seemed like it was still being worked on a lot and I hoped things would have changed for the better, but it hasn't and it's still basically the same problems from when I first tried it.

All negatives aside I do still like the concept of the game and I wouldn't say no to seeing what it evolves into if a sequel gets made, but I wouldn't recommend this one.

它有個精美的大地圖，即時標示的怪物、盗匪、信使等等都在地圖上來來去去。玩家角色可以自由的進入各地城鎮休息整補接任務，跟地圖上遍佈的敵人戰鬥獲取戰利品，或者掃蕩地圖上各個戰場以完成任務並藉此升級。
這些來自傳統RPG的架構帶來了代入感，而Arpg式的戰鬥則帶來了構築樂趣，也許這就是一個理想的Diablo型遊戲該有的樣子唄。

Insanely deep lore, satisfying combat and literal buttloads of quests. This game was a very satisfying diversion from reality. Once I mastered the combat, I turned on cheats to run through the game. I played at double speed so my 30 hour playthrough would actually have taken about 70 without cheats. Worth full price but a must have if on sale.

Non saprei cosa dire, adoro il team di sviluppo, ma il gioco non mi ha convito.

Diciamo che è un buon punto d'inizio per un altro gioco.

Purtroppo dopo poco più di 3 ore mi ha annoiato.

Magari sono io, magari è l'ambientazione che non mi ha preso, ma non ho trovato qualcosa che mi coinvolgesse.

Do comunque un thums up perché si vede la passione per lo sviluppo.

Quick rundown:

Pros:

Gameplay (combat) feels like an isometric mix of Diablo, (insert Souls game here), and the Arkham series.

Interaction between NPCs is roughly Diablo-esque or in the vein of Torchlight as far as getting missions goes.

Story's surprisingly deep. The devs took time to craft the world.

Set pieces are nice to look at.

The bad:

Not too much - a little simplistic with NPC interaction, some of the design of the cities/refuges is a maze at times and will have you hitting the local map button multiple times.

Stupid easy to get into a battle and get overwhelmed within five seconds on occasion.

Overall: Worthwhile pick up and they keep working on it as it goes. It's not the greatest game ever made, but it's more than worth the entry price.

Очень много красивых локаций, магия выглядит потрясающе, не напряжный геймплей с бесконечным респеком(можно будет попробовать в одно прохождение все билды), очень много ммо квестов для разнообразия. Из минусов только промт перевод в русской версии.

音乐和建模不错，手柄振动恰到好处。有一键俯瞰城镇区域地图的功能，可以省一些跑图时间。但是战斗上的槽点也太多了，职业平衡也做得不好。

作为新手双手武器玩家体验如下：
1、攻击动画很酷很帅但是很慢、伤害低、攻击范围也比较小，看不出比单手武器好在哪。
2、普通攻击的体力消耗巨大，第一套打完之后招架敌人再输出，经常发现体力不够用。
3、在2的基础上，绝大部分战斗都需要一打二、一打五、甚至一打八，能用招架的场景非常少，结果战斗体验就变成了回合制，先跑动拉开距离，然后等怪上来砍一刀再跑，没啥游戏体验。
4、好几个boss的设计不合理，对近战极不友好，相反远程打起来就特别轻松。
总之玩起来不够爽，不知道后期把暴击叠满，队友招满，会不会有质的提升

Je vois que les devs savent vraiment pas créer des HnS. Dpuis quand dans un HnS les vendeurs ne peuvent pas te racheter un objet pour cause manque d'argent aberrant. Dans tous les HnS tu peux vendre autant que tu veux sans que le vendeur soit à court d'argent mais dans celui-ci tu peux pas vu que les vendeurs sont tout aussi pauvre que toi quand tu commences le jeu aberrant du jamais vu dans un HnS. Ils ont vraiment fumer de la bonne weed les devs pour avoir fait ça. Sérieusement pourquoi avoir mis ce système de merde chez les vendeurs. Qu'ils fassent ça ok mais alors qui ne mettent pas des vendeurs encore plus pauvre que toi je trouve ça complètement débile. En plus le système de cobat est pourri aussi. Il est super lent. Enfin toi tu frapera super lentement mais les ennemis enfin les sacs à pv eux il peuvent frapper 2 fois plus vite que toi si ce n'est plus. Le temps d'envoyer un coupo tu as le temps d'en prendre 3 de la part de l'ennemi aberrant. En plus ils ont fait en mode soul-like mais un soul like impossible. Après avoir fini tous les soul like qui existent presque ben je vous garanti que celui ci au début vous allez passer votre temps à crever comme une merde. Pourquoi? Parce que tu prends 3-5 coups t'es mort et tu as à chaque entre 5-10 ennemis qui te rush la gueule en même temps et qui frappent 2 à 3 fois plus vite que toi aberrant. Ce jeu est juste une grosse merde fini c'est tout aller j'ai un remboursement à demande. Je vais pas garder cette merde dans ma bibliothèque steam. Certes j'aime les ejeux pourris mais il y a des limites Ce jeu n'est pas pourri il est pire que ça. Je pensais pas qu'on pouvais faire un jeu pire que pourri ben si les devs de ce jeu m'on montré que oui on pouvait.

Um jogo que faz lembrar os antigos jogos isométricos mas aperfeiçoado às tecnologias atuais.
Tem imenso lore para quem for persistente e muitas cidades e aldeias para explorar e aonde o jogador vai buscar a maior parte das missões; o ponto alto são as masmorras que exigem um pouco de estratégia pois aqui o combate é controlado por teclado e, chegamos à parte menos satisfatória do jogo: seria muito mais fácil que o controlo da personagem fosse feito unicamente por rato pois este dá outra mobilidade que o teclado não permite.
De resto, a história cumpre, as personagens que podemos controlar são interessantes e as missões são muitas e variadas.
Em suma, um jogo recomendado somente para aqueles que gostam de rpgs ao estilo do Baldur ´s Gate com uma mistura de Dark Souls para lhe conferir maior dificuldade na altura das decisões. O sprõprios criadores assim o afirmaram..

This is a game created with passion, a lot of passion. Navigating the map of this fantastic world reminds me of Heroes of Might and Magic; the scenery is varied and unique. The world is vast, beautiful, and so well-designed. The game's art direction is incredible; each city, each location tells a story, and exploring them is a pleasure, especially when all these places are accompanied by magnificent music. Each location has its own musical theme,it's fantastic.

In Plamen, you'll find a huge number of quests by talking to NPCs. There are truly many, often interesting and well-written, but sometimes also tedious fetch quests (kill x undead, collect x bones, kill x throls). Talking, searching, scavenging, and exploring are truly worthwhile. The rewards are important for your character to become strong, and they'll need them because the game isn't easy.

Unlike other RPGs, completing quests or killing mobs won't grant you any XP. To gain XP, you must complete dungeons or defeat bosses. There are many, ranging from easy to difficult, and you're free to tackle them in any order you choose. The freedom in progression is satisfying; you just need to be patient and curious.

The combat is decent, challenging, but sometimes chaotic when there are many enemies on screen, making it hard to keep track of your character.

I'm going to continue my adventure, and honestly, if there's ever a sequel to Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms of such high quality, I'll gladly buy it.

If I could, I would elect to give this a neutral rating. I came to the conclusion that I just don't like the genre of action-isometric games. Played a few of them now and it just doesn't work for me so bear that in mind for the review.

This game has a lot of content, tons of lore, and a decent amount of replay-ability. Some aspects of the game are very obscure and it doesn't help that there isn't much discussion around to help you when you get stuck. There is a wiki now but there wasn't when I played. For example, there was a quest about finding statues that I could never finish even after visiting every poi and doing all the combat zones. Most quests have markers though and I don't think you are intended to do everything in one playthrough. I made manual backups of my saves which is not an intended game mechanic, but it can be done.

I got burned out on the game when I accidently sold, at least I think I did, a quest item that I wanted to finish. Decided to rush the final boss and end the game forgetting the advice I read about the final boss not allowing companions which I had grown far too accustomed to having as fodder. The final boss is very challenging by comparison and you cannot back out after starting it. You can respec and respawn but that's it.

Combat is a mixture of weak mobs and strong enemies that have to be carefully fought. Not always together but many of the tougher challenges have both. I got used to using cc and spells to deal with weaker enemies while also having some methods of killing stronger ones. I didn't spend as much time learning the melee move set but I imagine the final boss would have been significantly easier had I done so. The economy of the game isn't that hard to handle if you take the skills that let you repair your own gear. I didn't have any trouble stockpiling gear and materials by running repeats of defeated dungeons.

Since I don't really like the genre I'm not really sure how to recommend this to other people. I had heard it characterized as a souls like in third person but I wouldn't agree with that. If you like the idea of doing a series of dungeons, possibly multiple times, while managing resources then maybe give it a go. While there are quests and levels in the game it doesn't work like a traditional rpg so don't go in expecting that. It's more of a hybrid that I think people who like the combat style will enjoy a lot more.

A charming but janky fantasy sandbox ARPG. A game with an enjoyable open world, tons of quests, great combat, a wide variety of character builds, fun dice games, and more. But with sometimes frustratingly obtuse systems, and a terrible voice-over. Overall I recommend the game, but with the caveat of knowing its negatives going into it.

The game itself draws comparisons to Dark Souls and Baldur's Gate but I would say it is more like a Diablo, Titan Quest, or Grim Dawn with the open world of Mount and Blade thrown in. The setting itself is fairly generic with the bones of Lord of the Rings and Forgotten Realms holding it up, but it still pulls off some unique and entertaining writing and lore sometimes. And even has the famous name of Chris Avellone of Fallout and Planescape fame in the credits!

Alaloth is really nice action RPG with soulslike fights.

Leveling is different than in all RPGs - you get XP when you conquer fighting arena. No XP for finishing quests, killing enemies etc.

Itemization is really good - there are no godly options for your build of choice - your skill matters. Ofcourse there are tiers of items and usually legendary is better than epic but with my orc playthrough I switched from legendary 2H sword to epic one because of higher crit chance and crit damage.

No voiceover! :( that's really shame, all dialogues you have to read by yourself.

No obvious class (you choose your race in the beginning) - you can use all skills available on any character. For instance my orc really liked to summon imps for distraction and use some shaman buffs with arcane teleport to leave decoy :)

Only one main quest - rest are side quests which can be done in any order - that gives strong roguelike/roguelite vibe with rewards being gold/items/crafting materials. Remember - no XP for those, only for conquering fighting areas.

Beautiful sceneries (Bloody Lake, The One Tree, Sea of Stars) - breathtaking and really well crafted images to watch.

Music is just fine but nothing really stands out for me.

Evil/Neutral/Good alignment - sadly you don't get such freedom with this choice like in typical RPG game (Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter) - it mainly affects companions which you can hire.

Companions - your "party" members to choose from, every alignment get 4 of them with different skills and different rewards for completing their quests.

DRAGONS! they are extremely well crafted, presented and fights are very intense, hard and fun.

Overall Alaloth is solid action RPG game with some innovative systems and quite deep lore behind. If you are looking for challenging game to play - get it.

Important! game is best played on controller and I really recommend to use one.

Единственное о чем хочу сказать, это об управлении. Оно отвратительное! Крайне неудобное! Ок, вы сделали классическую для ARPG боевую систему, сделали бы тогда и камеру от третьего лица, как в Готике, Соулсах, Ведьмаке. Зачем изометрия? А раз уж у вас изометрия, то зачем вы приделали такую боевую систему? В изометрии должно быть тупо закликивание, как в Диаблоидах или пошаговые бои как в Divinity. А для парирований и блокирований должна быть камера от третьего или первого лица. Но знаете, даже так можно было сделать нормально. Играл я как то в "Achilles: Legends Untold" и там тоже есть все эти парирования, блокирования, но даже там сделано все куда лучше и удобнее, а здесь какой то кошмар!

Отдельно стоит упомянуть и про интерфейс. Он такой же отвратительный. Нагромождение всего на всем. Как пример - журнал. Чтобы прочитать какую то статью в журнале, нужно открыть сам журнал, найти там нужную главу, найти в ней нужный пункт, в нем нужный подпункт и только там сама статья. WTF? А еще десяток-другой пунктов/подпунктов можно было сделать? Ну чтобы совсем ничего найти нельзя было. А то чувствуется, что недокрутили.

Визуально и по атмосфере игра хороша, но первостепенно всегда управление, а все остальное уже навешивается на него, как на каркас и если управление ужасное, то львиная доля игроков отлетает. Собственно, это видно по отзывам.

В общем, дропнул почти сразу. С таким управлением я играть не могу. В это могут играть только пианисты, которые привыкли дрочиться с подобным управлением. Я к таковым не отношусь.
3/10, только за визуальную составляющую.
