有点像轰炸机小队系列，所有操作都要手操，十分繁琐。除了修模块没有命令船员就啥都不会做，跳帮肉搏被打了都不知道还击的。平时干船还好，对海怪就手忙脚乱的了。不过我最想吐槽的是这个存档，固定地点就算了，还要去找存档道具。道具数量少而且还要装备特定配件才能找到，何意味？只推荐打折入。

Для мобильных игр сойдёт. Бессмысленно потратить время, чтобы не думать и не страдать.
Оптимизации нет. Есть ошибки (например, после загрузки корабль не реагирует не действия).
За полный ценник не рекомендую. Она не стоит того, чтобы в неё играть, но поиграть стоит ;)

We should be able to have more ships. I attacked one and couldn’t keep it, which makes no sense in a pirate game. If we capture a ship, we should be able to take it.

Ships also have very low crew limits. Even small wooden ships could hold around 12 people, but most ships in the game only allow 6.

We also can’t properly loot ships or take prisoners, which are basic pirate features. It’s already a great game, but if you add these things, it would be perfect for me.

Historia z mocną nutą Lovecrafta, dobrze opowiedziana, wciągająca, w mocno morskich klimatach. Przez chwilę nawet poczułem sentyment za pierwszym Port Royale. Dużo zdarzeń losowych, też podanych ze smakiem i w klimacie. Przy czym muszę od razu uprzedzić - jak ktoś nie ma problemu z angielskim, to grać w oryginale, tłumaczenie polskie jest żywcem wykonane przez jakiś mierny translator - żenujące błędy, chyba nikt nawet tego nie przeczytał dla weryfikacji, wiele zdań zwyczajnie straciło sens.

Jak ktoś lubi sobie popływać, to jest gdzie - map dużo i pięknie wykonane, z uwzględnieniem pogody i zmian dobowych dzień / noc. Uczta dla oczu (moich przynajmniej :).

Jedynym minusem jest element, którego jest tu najwięcej... no może nie do końca minusem. Walka, z początku wciągająca, ciekawa, dynamiczna, ale jak już się człowiek dochrapie najlepszego statku (co nie jest takie trudne) i znajdzie swój ulubiony skład załogi i broni (a jest w czym wybierać i czym się bawić), to właściwie do końca gry, staje się to element powtarzalny - jeden schemat na zwycięstwo działa na wszystkich przeciwników. Minus nie minus, bo zawsze można sobie zmienić zestaw broni... raczej dla urozmaicenia, niż z konieczności i poszukać innego podejścia, ale znowu, działa na wszystkich.

Ogólnie, grało mi się bardzo przyjemnie. Na początku ze względu na każdy element, do końca raczej dla historii i widoków, bo walka nieco zaczyna nużyć.

Więc tego, polecam :)

In a single sentence: Good game, but too much kraken.

More in depth: I'm enjoying this game. It has a lot in common with Sunless Sea and FTL, two games I've enjoyed. but it does come off badly when compared to the former. I was disappointed by the narrative -- the lovecraftian elements (basically, domineering Cthulhu Daddy) aren't scary or unnerving. The Spider Islands are pretty much a Wish version of Saviour's Rocks, from Sunless Sea. The world and story just felt like a rather generic fantasy, without much depth.

Luckily, the gameplay is pretty fun though it does get repetitive (too much kraken). I wished I had a few more options for directing my crew, like being able to assign a crewman to repairing hull cracks, or get my medic to go around and heal everyone without having to keep pausing in order to micromanage.
I liked how each biome has different environmental hazards impacting combat.
Though ship progression is pretty linear -- the more expensive ship is just better -- there's a lot of different builds when it comes to weapons and various combinations of weapons. There's also different game modes which also require slightly different approaches. On the main campaign, it's pretty easy to gather up the cash to upgrade everything (the earlier the better, before the game turns into Non-stop Kraken: The Krakening), but the shorter combat campaigns are more of a challenge. There's an element of RNG, sometimes, which can be frustrating.

Overall, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a fun naval combat strategy game.

This game was deeply cathartic for me, though not as one might expect from the gameplay. I got around to playing Abandon Ship as I was going through a similar process in spirit as the main character goes through, making it even more personal than I expected when I wishlisted it years before.

Meta themes, possible meta spoilers:
[spoiler]It is a story of recognizing, escaping, and overcoming a Tyrannical Father, both without and within, a very real archetype of human experience. It also hints at the Devouring Mother as sequel material.[/spoiler]

As for the gameplay, there is some learning curve, with multiple chances given to avoid catastrophe upon failure (fleeing, lifeboats, chance-based events). But of course proper planning and preparation is a solid (but not guaranteed) defense.

If you can dial in on a routine and optimal build for the many battles ahead, especially for a longer comprehensive playthrough, then you can listen to other things outside the game while you sail the seas.

Прикольная игра! Обожаю корабельные бои, выполнены достаточно хорошо. Сюжет интересный и по нему приятно плыть на своём корабле. Подаётся сюжет с помощью текста, его не так много чтобы наскучить, а после середины игры, так читать в принципе остается только сюжетные диалоги. Присутствует вариативность ответов, нужно реально думать, чтобы тебя не нахлобучило событие - этот момент очень порадовал.
По началу очень сложно, везде нужны Бабки, которых ооочень мало. Умер член команды надо нанять нового. Заболел, поранился, нокнули, нужно лечить или нанимать нового, ну и корабль чинить. Команда прокачивается, по-этому, со временем получает либо отрицательные (красные) эффекты, которые можно вылечить, либо положительные (зелёные) которые тоже можно вылечить но лучше не надо)
Куча кораблей разных размеров и стоимости и улучшений к нему. Куча пушек, мортик и тд с разными эффектами и условиями использования, хватит чтобы упароться и всё попробовать.
Присутствует элемент удачи. Очень мало доступных внутри игровых сохранений.

This game is well made and all the mechanics are well thought out. It's just missing the fun factor and there are some frustrating moments. One of the examples are the Kraken encounters which require you to wait for the option to Flee while you fend it off, but why not make it automatic as soon as the meter is full? If you don't press the button (bc you're too busy managing each action of every crew member) then your ship continues to take damage.

The story is fine and the play is fine, but it does get monotonous. Maybe bigger monetary rewards for capturing a ship vs. just sinking it? It could use a money boost overall since it takes a lot of battles to get the funds to upgrade while maintaining repairs on your ship. I do appreciate that the ship upgrades and weapons are able to be transferred to the new ship.

Overall it's okay, but the lack of excitement to continue the campaign is making me put the game away and I can't recommend it.

Like if FTL had a baby with Sid Meier's Pirates with some Lovecraft sprinkled in. Lovely graphics and fun gameplay. Just try not to get attached to your crew because the difficulty in this game is brutal. They will die. I'm playing on the easiest setting and I've still lost several crew members. I first tried it on Normal and lost my ship before I even managed to finish the tutorial.

На протяжении 6-ти лет разработчика многократно просили добавить в игру зум, а он отвечал на форумах, что работает над этим и что-то придумает. Но столько лет прошло, а воз и ныне там! По итогу мы получили не рогалик, симулятор или РПГ, а пиксель-хантинг и поиск предметов! Даже в 1080р играть невозможно, потому что ты тупо не понимаешь, что за герой бегает там вдалеке на палубе и где кто ранен и упал. Поверить не могу, что за 7 лет разраб не разобрался с этой мелюзгой!

Это рефанд, господа, несмотря на то, что я фанат тех Пиратов Сида Майера, FTL, Лавкрафта и Космических Рейнджеров...

I am torn whether to recommend this game or not. It's relatively well polished, but it feels quite repetitive and boring - every battle is really the same: destroy their sails, get close, board them. And the battles are slow - most of the time you wait for the guns to load. There are a couple of UI/UX issues and some minor bugs:

[*] Weapons in the shop have no information at what range they can fire.
[*] The information about what ship you have is not easily available - you might end up buying the same ship that you already have.
[*] When a journal or world map is open, hitting ESC opens the game menu instead of closing journal/map.
[*] Certain actions cannot be done while the game is paused, for example zooming out to the sector map, or zooming in back to your ship.
[*] The ship cannot be controlled from the sector map.
[*] Selecting targets for weapons is somewhat unintuitive - you select the weapon on your ship with LMB, then you have to point over enemy ship and press RMB.
[*] Weapons set to auto-shoot lose their target after battle. This is especially annoying with chain-shots, for whom the only reasonable target is sails.
[*] Changing visual blueprint of your ship has some UI bugs, allowing you to select multiple blueprints at once.

A roguelite combining the gameplay of FTL and the narrative of Sunless Sea, and infused with a moderate dose of cosmic horror, this might be the only Lovecraftian Age of Sail-game in existence.

The story features an evil cultist suddenly snapping out of his madness during a great ceremony (the statue he holds even looks like Cthulhu), frees two prisoners, makes his way to an anchored ship, and escapes with other cultists in hot pursuit. From there on you explore a vast world with many unique biomes, locations, and questlines, equip lots of different weapons and upgrades, and thwart the cult's plans, while also discovering his own past.

If you are familiar with FTL, then you'll learn combat quickly. You control a handful of crewmembers who have to man stations on the ship, and repair damages to modules and sections. You can hire different classes like gunners and surgeons, each with their own sets of skills, and even name them. Sink the enemy ship or kill its crew to win, though the latter yields higher rewards.

On your travels, you'll find encounters that may or may not be beneficial - difficulty affects enemy health and damage and your "luck" during events -, and until you have arrived at a certain point in the story, you'll constantly be hounded by an invincible Kraken, so keep going! Luckily, sinking yourself isn't an immediate game over, as your captain can survive on floating debris (crew dies, though) and hope to be found by a passing ship, or if you have a lifeboat, your crew will also make it through.

Other campaigns include freeplay, which takes place after the story, a combat campaign with limited stops at ports and a new storyline, and finally a cultist campaign as the dude who failed to stop the escape and must now hunt the protagonist down. And this one lets you control a Kraken directly.

Beware though that there's a lot to read! But don't worry, it's not as wordy as Sunless Sea. ;)

It's fun because you're a pirate fighting a cult that can control krakens.

It reminds me of Pirates Gold! in a way -- you sail around discovering the seas dangers and treasures, choosing to be a pirate or privateer, and the main campaign has a decently written plot. The battles are tense (I used the pause feature all the time to issue orders to my dudes). And the way you control your guys is something like FTL: There's a ship that they control and you move from from spot to spot for them to do the things that you want the ship to do (or fight other pirates in bording actions.)

Main campaign has about 30 hours, there are some additional mini-campaigns and a Freeplay mode as well. After finishing the main campaign on Medium I switched to Hard on Freeplay and all the intensity I was enjoying from Medium was back now that I knew the systems better (and was starting as a new crew again).

FTL meets sunless sea? YES

On concept alone, 12/10, more ideas like this should be made into games.
Gameplay is mostly tight with some occasional jank and an item-limited save to revert if you get in an autosave deathloop
Writing is good, but the writing-focused game genre has set a high bar and I found myself wanting a few times
Early game is probably the best experience I had playing a game, barely surviving to the next port trying to fill out crew and upgrades in a desperate struggle to evade the Cult. Honeymoon ends after first boss fight, which is... pretty good. The first time. There is only one boss. You will be fighting it a lot of times. The fight never changes.
Endgame is probably the weakest, lack of variety and progress cap sets in reminding me the importance of FTL's timer. You end up with nothing more to buy and much lower stakes.

Maps are good. Area theming is good. Art design is good.
If I could give notes on a sequel it would be more complexity in endgame combat and at least one useful all-purpose maneuver. I know I'm comparing to FTL wherein the pilot's only job is to stand there so the ship keeps moving, but this game has a maneuver bar that fills up and I wish I had some active defense/offense "leadership" or piloting abilities to make that bar matter to me.

It's alright, I got it for like $5 and I think that's fair. I can't speak much about the quality of the campaigns but the free mode is alright. Combat is mediocre and setup to be a tactical fight but it's mostly slam cannonballs into the enemy ship's mast then board them for an easy win. Most fights you lose are against ships that far outclass you or you took too long and they ran away. Which is why you board so quickly so they can't escape.

Loot is generic money/food and nothing interesting and the upgrades are about the same. You got normal round shot, you got fire shots, some mortars, swivel guns with varying effects like a lightning gun. Nothing you haven't seen before and again nothing beats chain shot into the mast followed by boarding them. There are other varieties but none of them seem to matter so far.

Basically everything is done in port for repairs and upgrades, I've yet to find any rare loot. Repairs are basically just a regular tax you pay when you dock somewhere.

There's a few extra things like a diving bell which let you interact with diving bell resource nodes. Maybe it's bad luck but so far it's mostly been I get attacked while diving and get little to nothing out of it or they come back spooked and I lose morale. It doesn't add anything gameplay wise just a few items to click and maybe a ship battle.

There is a Kraken that will hunt you down, it's dreadfully boring and best avoided.

Overall I expected this to be a more action packed kind of Sunless Sea with a weird world full of intrigue but at least in free play mode it's kinda just a generic world with a small amount of boogins that exist in it. I hope the actual campaigns are more interesting.

Oh and random events in fights love to trigger and sink the enemy ship as you board it. This thankfully doesn't kill your crew but it does reduce what little loot you get. So again board quickly because lightning will strike their ship when it has a sliver of hp left and rob you of most of the loot. Which means instead of 30 money and 25 food you get 20 money and no food. That's it, that's what looting a ship is.

6/14/2025: I have to say this one is not really what I thought it was after playing games like Atlas or Black Desert Online. But it is still a really good game. It lacks some of the finesse that games like Skull and Bones or Ghost Ship has as far as the graphics. But its more like a strategy game then what I thought it was, mind you I only started the basic story, which is interesting. This game will not be for everyone, but its still a really fun game. Cheerio swashbucklers, and see you on the high seas!

After playing this a lot longer, and beating the first boss. I'm changing my review to a thumbs down.
By the time I beat the Kraken, I just felt like I didnt care anymore. The game is very repetitive at this point. I'm seeing the same things over and over, and doing the same clunky fights. The game needs more variety in not only encounters but mechanics. There's just so much thats unexplained, and so much stumbling rng that you cant plan for. It's just "better luck next time." Some neat ideas, wasted on poor execution.

This should show up at the top for Pirate Sim Strategy. Great game mechanics with a lot of Replay-ability. Unique art style. Wish there were more ships or options to go over crew capacity. Already a lot of options but generally more variety would be nice(Simply because this scratches a strategy game itch I haven't scratched in a while and want more).

Abandon Ship is a difficult mixture of a pirate/sailing game, a Lovecraftian story, and FTL.

You play as a ship in a world infested with a Lovecraftian cult and the associated monsters. Gameplay consists of manning a ship and surviving through battles with other ships or monsters, and sailing from port to port for exploration or quests.

The world is made up out of multiple smaller maps, connected with gates. On these maps there are multiple random (and some story-scripted) encounters, which consist of random events, simple decisions such as give food to a stowaway (or not), or full on ship to ship battles.
Often, you have to clear a number of these random events before the gates on the current map unlock, allowing you to proceed.

Battles are the core gameplay feature. The ship has multiple stations such as the helm, cannons, and mortars, and you have to assign crew members to each one you want to be active. You are limited by the number of max crew, and crewmen can die or get injured during combat or events, which means you will have to juggle positions during the fight. Fortunately, it is pausable. Enemy shots can also cause hull breaches or fire, which has to be taken care of. And on top of that, some maps have features like lightning storms or massive waves, which cause further danger during combat.

Ports are literally the safe havens. Here, you can repair and upgrade the ship, and revive wounded crew, or get new one. Most story missions also take place in ports.

The story serves well to keep you going from port to port and does a good job of explaining how to play, but the game remains difficult. Each encounter is a real challenge.

My favorite ship game. even thou the gameplay is a bit repetitive but I never got bored of it. It's so captivating: the Sounds as the cannon balls whistles towards you, as the impact booms, wood brakes and the wood splinters scatter; The painterly stormy seas as the ship crashes though the waves. This game is a spectacle.
The short quest you do in text format are well written, unique and interesting. This game brings all the adventures you could wishes for in a sailing game: kraken, indigenous tribes, cursed towns, ancient monsters, treasure caves, diving bells an many many more

一口气玩了80个小时，通了主线，自由模式开了几乎全部地图，只剩下左上角圣父巢穴不知道怎么开启。
主线无难度，随便搞。
自由模式最初的部分最有挑战难度，没人没钱没武器，也是唯一需要去监狱弄囚犯顶位置的时候。后面搞成突击模式，凑4把狙击枪1个酸泡一个毁灭者，就无敌了，不用跳帮轻松杀光对方所有船员，把章鱼控到死，缴获翻倍。
打折的时候绝对值回票价。

Absolutely gorgeous game. I love the setting, i love the story. Simple to learn, difficult to master.
At the time of this review (32 hours), i have finished the main campaign on normal difficulty. I felt it was a good balance of difficulty at the start, but got easier late-game, so i might try some harder difficulties later.
All devs & publishers, take note, make more games like this.

задумка в целом интересна, но слишком однообразно и скучно, игре буквально не хватает контента.
механика игры кривая, поиск построения пути не всегда корректен.
попасть с мортиры в кракена - та еще дичь.
оккультисты да пираты, разнообразие так себе.
на финальный корабль, можно смело было делать экипаж на 20 человек, но есть ограничение.
порт может забаговать и перестать принимать.

скажу честно, единственное удовольствие от игры, было получено когда поставил читинж и включено"ноурелоуд", но даже этого не хватило, что бы пройти игру до конца. невероятно однообразно и скучно.

I've not had alot of hours in this game but I'm really struggling to keep going. Without a doubt this feels like they saw FTL Faster than LIght and thought "hey lets do that but with a nautical theme". One thing alot of players disliked was the RNG in that game, but with that after a good amount of playthroughs you learn what you'd get from the choices you make and what not to do next time. I.e. THERES GIANT ALIEN SPIDERS, SHOULD WE HELP? Yes! (crew member likely dies with a small chance for success) No! (You don't have time for that, you move on). In this game though, you merely click the icon you want to go to and OH your crewmember is incapacitated just by going here. Theres no choice, theres no learning, the upgraded crowsnest doesn't do anything. it just screws you over with nonsense RNG that isn't earned and counts that as 'challenge".

Not to mention the combat and I hate to compare again but it feels like such a rip off of FTL. You have weapons and a ram for boarding. you can make repairs as you get damage and you can do thing where you can "save posiitons of crew" and return them to thos positions after you moved them. But then ship to ship combat takes so long that its more detrimental to you not to board them as soon as possible.

I want to say something good about this game but I can't. It feels like it keeps screwing me over with RNG alone. Even on an easy save, the RNG is still WAY more punishing than rewarding, which makes the moment to moment gameplay suck and makes me want to turn it off and play something else.

Game's not bad. Combat felt a little lacking at times and it's hard to control boarding and focusing attacks without pausing due to overlapping units. If you enjoyed FTL combat you'll likely enjoy this, it's a longer campaign and not a roguelite, but a campaign you save and lose if you fail.

Никому эту игру не порекомендую. Вначале она кажется интересной и заманчивой, но через час вы уже просто морально устаете от однообразия. Боёвка на кораблях одна и таже, локации не интересны, а события все повторяются. Основной сюжет медленный и нерасторопный. Вы можете запастись припасами по самое не балуй, Но не успев доплыть до нужной локации, вы замечаете одно из рандомных событий и думаете: а заберу пожалуй. и вот, у вас один из четырёх офицеров получает контузию, и вы понимаете, что вам надо снова возвращаться в ту гавань, откуда только что отплыли, что бы вылечить офицера. Муторно, однообразно и скучно.

90% of a great game. The core gameplay mechanics are great, thematic, and fun. Honestly just needs more content - ship types, enemy types, weapon types. what's here get's incredibly repetitive, very fast, and although the story is good it far outpaces what the game offers. Honestly the whole game feels like a demo.

Ok finally a gritty survival ship management game that is actually good. I've played a TON of garbage, i've played so much garbage that i've learned to love garbage. THIS is not garbage, this is what a good ship game should be.

BEFORE I GET INTO IT: THE GAME IS FRIGGEN HARD! It gets much easier as you go, the snowball is really really nice and slow but starting out is very difficult, the cult hunts you down on a timer which is easy to evade if you are watching but sometimes you get caught out, but you can clear this timer after you defeat the kraken which is actually more a mechanics fight akin more to an MMO than it is a power level fight. I beat it at a point where my boat was in the red health because i was broke, i couldn't fix it, i was missing some men, and i just said screw it and once i realized it was rotation based i knew i could beat it.

The game has a lot going for it. Save Points are actually a recourse you get either from saving someone or missions. I actually really like it because it's a great way to get yourself into a save point when you are doing really well and then you can go do risky stuff and revert to your save.

Another thing is navigation is really fun, you instance into a zone, clear the zone, and can go N E S W to the next part of the map, at first i didn't think i'd like this but it's actually quite nice. You can go back to these places and they will have more events occasionally but you mostly go back if there is a port you like there with items you want to buy.

It's a slow game, so far i haven't found an efficient way to farm gold or abuse mechanics, you have to go out and get lucky in a series of events in order to go over in gold, it's tough to save but once you do and upgrade your ship, you really feel a difference, every enhancement swaps over to a new ship you buy so you dont' just lose progress.

Combat is varied, you can specialize in many different ways to fight such as ramming into boarding, close range shotgun like weapons, long range bombardment, sinking their ship through water intake, going for high damage and ripping them up, setting fire for them to deal with so they can't man their equipment, killing the crew from afar, etc etc. It's so cool and your play style is probably here.

Over all 9/10 game.

I wish in the earlier ships i could buy a couple more crew per ship, sometimes i felt really understaffed and it was annoying. Also I played on normal to learn the game and while I ended up fine, i did experience some serious frustrations early that might push some people away who would other whys love the game. The difficulty might be a little much for normal. I can't imagine higher difficulties but i'm pretty excited to try them. Also i'd like some abilities in the over world, something to boost you faster at times to help you escape persuers or something.

The game was about in the middle for me. It was fun but I really hate the save system. You could only do a hard save if you find a special item and I am not a huge fan of just having the option of save and exit if you do not have the item. It is not really reliable when wanting to load a game. I loaded a previously hard save game and lost 11 hours of game play. I had to start at the beginning where the tutorial made me hard save with the item. All the grinding to get the ship and items lost. The battle system is pretty fun, but not very rewarding. You gain so little from battles that it take a lot of grinding just to get the items you are aiming for. Besides the saving incident, I do not have any issues with the game.

Good game!
A bit similar to the FTL in terms of playstyle. It seems it is long enough (haven'f finished yet after 12 hours of gameplay) and it's quite enjoyable, although fights get a bit repetetive. The story is interesting; if you like pirates and crew-management game, this game might be for you.
