i played this way back in like 2017ish and i distinctly remember that i cried through most of it, it was like in the span of a single night much of which i just spent bawling. which probably has at least something to do with how i haven't actually read the original novel so i wasn't emotionally prepared for the twist. that said after this reread even though i didn't cry it, still hits pretty hard, still very good all these years later, i just know i would have liked to be longer and more in depth for each scene and route but thats not a criticism its more that i enjoyed each route so much i just want more.

also i remember really not liking lavinia and her route or at least kinda having mixed feelings but on reread i absolutely love lavinia, although jessie is still my fav because i'm unoriginal like that.

我真的太喜欢萨拉的塑造了，配角们的形象也很立体。但制作组的某些私货确实令我不满。有几名加害者仅仅表现出一点微小的善意，甚至这“善意”也是靠压迫萨拉换来的，比如让萨拉在凌晨为她做好两人份的早餐并送到房间一起享用，之后却又将自己扭曲的爱意倾泻在萨拉身上。有人为逃婚而把萨拉当作救命稻草，有人认定萨拉与自己是同类便想要独占她，若萨拉不予回应，便继续听从加害方的命令欺凌萨拉。

萨拉的价值观在剧情中早已写得清清楚楚：她不会因为这点伪善就原谅对方一贯的所作所为，而是会抓住机会毫不犹豫地离开。然而在这几条加害者的故事线里，编剧却让萨拉“爱上并原谅对方”……我只愿将这些线路视为不存在。当然，埃芒加德，玛丽特及贝基三人的故事我还是很喜欢的。

总评：在忽略制作组私货的前提下，我给本作满分。萨拉的人格魅力如此之高，足以让我在年初就认定，她会是我今年最喜爱的角色之一。
（看完之后立刻去买了本《小公主》原著。）

I enjoyed the game, but replaying is somewhat tedious, because the main story line is not slightly impacted in any way by the events. You merely do activities to earn points to unlock events. It would be better if the girls had a reputation system which affected details in the main story line - adding scenes, losing access to scenes, and changing dialogue.

The music in the second act is beautiful and well-written.

This is a charming little yuri vn, and I liked the life that the (very light) management mechanics gave to the gameplay (especially since there's no choices to be made here beyond who you choose to romance) but as a huge fan of the original book, the story left me feeling pretty hollow.

One of the great strengths of the book is the emotional connections that Sara forms, which sustain her through some absolutely dreadful experiences. And a lot of what makes this game shine is how it expands upon those relationships--every character in this game is in the original novel, but many of them have a very small role in the story. The devs have turned each of these characters into full, three-dimensional people, each with her own life and story and relationship with Sara. And the first act of the game is full of these lovely friendships--you get to have one event per week with the character of your choice (assuming you have the stats for it), and the game outright advises you to focus on two or three at the most, as you won't have time to befriend everyone. Even taking this advice, you will have an event every week, stats permitting, and you might not finish all the routes.

The second half, however, is eerily empty. You'll have an event with everyone you befriended in the first act, and then there will be a well-signposted event whose selection will lock you into a character's romance route. Once you're locked to a romance route, the other characters don't speak to you again, even in the game's main story, even platonically. It's jarring to have these friendships you built evaporate overnight, doubly so for the characters whose routes are explicitly non-romantic. And the act two routes don't have enough events to fill even half the weeks in that act. The game thus gets lonely, grindy, and a hair boring in spite of Sarah's budding romance. It would have greatly benefited from shorter, platonic routes that can be played alongside the romance, even if you can only select one of each.

Well this was absolutely lovely.
All of the girls were lovely and their routes were all very interesting, my only real complaint is that I wish there was more development for each girl. I'm very impressed they managed to make Lavinia likeable in her ending, in fact it was probably my favourite.
The relationship between Sara and each girl is varyingly romantic or more ~close feelings~ and I actually found that quite nice, The variety was rather pleasant and fit the broader yuri exploration of "feelings between girls" rather than 100% romance.
There's some rather orientalist elements that no doubt are a holdover from the book but I felt they weren't particularly egregious and they were "period appropriate" so to speak without being terribly unpleasant.

All-in-all this was a really delightful experience and definitely one that I was sad to have to put down once it was over.

游戏如其名，小百合公主是款轻百合类的游戏，通过选择日常活动积累对应的资源以触发对应角色的事件，事件触发够一定次数后可以在第二章选择进入该角色路线触发其结局，整体而言没什么难度也不太耗时间，就是成就同步有些问题，如果乃在游戏中达成成就的话游戏的checkpoint选项中可以看到对应字体变黑，但是点了同步后也要退出游戏后才能在steam上获得对应成就，如果乃玩了半天什么成就都没跳的话不妨试试看退出下游戏~('ω')ノ

前排提示本作算得上恋爱感情的应该只有两个半杰西(但是真的很难磕) 小女仆贝基(这是好的) 埃芒加德(半个) 其他都是朋友扭曲的朋友和亲人

虽然本作攻略对象大部分都是小女孩(记得没错的话有一位甚至是8岁) 所以心态摇摆不成熟也可以理解但是看到女主角被狂怼但是某几位攻略对象(特指"那两位")毫无作为一下就妥协实在是难以评价.. 在女主最困难需要安慰的时候基本上大部分攻略对象都是干瞪眼或者根本就不在

It's such a nice, little game! Just make sure to save before engaging with the "gameplay" elements. Not sure who thought it would be a good idea to have them, all it does it waste your time reloading the game until you get enough good rolls...
It's a bit short for the price, imo, so I'd recommend buying it on a sale. It's really good, and the story takes quite a few twists and turns!

This VN had me in the feels a few times and you DO want to replay it to get the full picture behind each character.

The writing is good, the art is good, the character development is good.

What you won't find are choices, but you do have chores/classes, that will decide which paths you ultimately can follow (I personally reccomend to follow just ONE path after a few in game weeks).

A very cute and sweet twist on the classic story A Little Princess! As someone familiar with the novel, I really enjoyed it. I loved the sapphic elements and how cutely and innocently they were done in a way that perfectly fit the story. I will say that once you've explored every character's storyline, there's really nothing else you can do in the game, so you'll reach a point fairly quickly where there's just no more to play. However, I still think it's worth it because this really is so wholesome and sweet, in contrast to a lot of other visual novels out there.

I can't believe I never wrote a review for this, it's one of my favourite yuri VNs of all time. I love the art and the general atmosphere, the writing is impeccable, and I absolutely adore Lavinia. She's one of my favourite love interests in any game: I love how conflicted and angry and intense she is. Her story has a lot of meat to it despite it being rather short, and I loved her enemies to girlfriends(? kinda things between them aren't that straightforward haha) relationship with Sara.

You should absolutely check this out if you like yuri stories, you owe it to yourself!!!

Сара, звичайно, аж ніяк не розпещена аристократка, а дуже розумна, ввічлива й мила дівчинка, але це, здається, тільки підігріває до неї неприязнь. Чи вдасться їй нормально вчитися і, що важливіше, вписатися в своє нове оточення, що так різко і так сильно змінилося?

Починається як солодке убер-кавайне юрі з елементами Princess Maker'a в Англії кінця 19-го століття and then many things happen (хто знайомий з оригіналом\екранізаціями - молодець). Все одно няшно-солодке й цінник як на мене завищений, але загалом гра якісно зроблена й чудово намальована, тож якщо вас не лякає потенційний цукровий діабет - рекомендую.

Самое, что мне здесь не понравилось это 1 акт и рут Лавинии. 1 акт мне было скучно читать и неинтересно уже в середине, но я его начал пропускать только под конец. 2 акт мне больше всего понравилось, было интересно и беспокойно за Сару. A very cute, quick play! The luck factor of gathering resources can be a little frustrating (especially if you're trying to gather for characters like Lottie or Lavinia who require a large amount or a large variety of resources) but overall it's simply enough to get what you need to progress (and impossible to lock yourself out a Becky's route at least). Overall a very fun take on the story... even if some of the costuming (such as Sara's party dress) takes you out of the world for a moment.

This is a VN based on the classic children's book "A Little Princess", with f/f shipping or vibes if you choose one of the 2 platonic routes (or if you choose zero routes). Well made, cute, condenses the story to take place over one year with the protagonist and the four girls 'her age' being preteens.

If you haven't read Frances Hodgson Burnett's book, it's public domain and free to read on Project Gutenberg. You should definitely read it if you did enjoy the VN!

Much of the VN dialogue and narration is verbatim from the book, and the story remains the same overall. The new material creates more backstory for the non-protagonist characters. The additional scenes are written in a way to match the style and tone of the original text and do not disrupt the main events in the story's canon. Some of the possible relationships feel in-character for Sarah and others not so much, but hey that's the nature of fanfic, isn't it? To sometimes be the story it wasn't.

I would recommend this more for younger folks than adults (but it holds nostalgia value), and I'd say it's as appropriate for kids as the original book. The romantic parts that are added to the story don't push the envelope.

A visual novel about a girl sent to a boarding school in London and who has to adapt to a new environment while meeting new classmates. You have to decide what to do each day, which gets you stats and then use those stats on events to try and progress the story. There are six routes, not all of which are romantic, so there’s plenty of replay value here. On the downside, the rewards for each daily task are semi-random, as you get one of three rewards. Some of these rewards give you stats based on what stats you’ve earned earlier in the week, so if you get that outcome first, you get nothing. I had a week where I got no rewards for the first four days. A bit of bad luck like that means you have to reload a few times.

That said, the writing is good, the art is engaging and if you like the genre, it is worth picking up.

When the Steam backlog finally gets too mocking one has to start from the oldest entries.

And needless to say even if I knew what to expect from the latter half of the game and had to go over the same scenes with sad violin playing on background they still hit like [i]that[/i] Miyazaki gif about feels.

But I heard no bell and obviously saved the best ones for last, B > J > E = La > M > Lo.

And damn, the only adults in the school really are so spiteful that they either got too little or too much of the vaunted cane of discipline.

I already read and adored the novel "A little princess" long ago, so when someone made a visual novel based on that novel with pretty artwork and YURI I was intrigued and had to play this. The protagonist, Sara Crewe is delightful and definitely the star of the story, with her wonderful imagination she brings joy and magic to everything she touches. It's easy to do good when you are treated well yourself, but even though it becomes very difficult at times Sara proved the kindness and strength of her heart even in the face of misery. It's a beautiful, precious gem of a story that I found myself reading again and again, and I can say A little lily princess did the novel justice.

The gameplay is simple stat-raising: You choose activities to raise different stats, and use the stats gained to unlock the girls's events. "Routes" are not exactly routes per se, the main story is divided into two parts, in the first part you can get events with any girl, but in the second part although the story stays the same, you just get events with only 1 girl and the rest are locked. You don't need a guide to play the game, it's easy to get 3 girls's events in 1 playthrough without having to replay the whole thing again.

My thoughts about each girl, spoilers alert below:

[spoiler] I played Jessie first. She has the prettiest design out of all the girls and the story does acknowledge this. Her route is the most romantic (and the only one to have a kiss CG! A beautiful one at that) as she herself is confirmed to be lesbian and is a hopeless romantic who wishes to meet the princess (NOT prince) of her dreams. The other routes are more friendship-y and only a little hint of yuri. However what happened near the end of her route soured my affections for her quite a bit, still a good route, but I don't like her as much as some other girls [/spoiler]

[spoiler] Next is Lottie. Since she is still young Sara is like an older sister to her, no romance here. Although she is bratty and spoiled as a child should, she still cares about Sara and helps her in any ways she know. She is adorable, that's all [/spoiler]

[spoiler] Lavinia is pretty much a ♥♥♥♥♥. Although it's due to her insecurity it still doesn't excuse some stupid ♥♥♥♥ she did. She causes troubles in nearly every route and only in her own route does she realize her mistakes and sweeten to Sara. This is another route meant to be clearly romantic [/spoiler]

[spoiler] Ermengarde (her name is so long), tbh I wasn't interested in her much, she can be dull and boring (sorry). But in her route, although clumsy she is really sweet and cute, her warmth thaws Sara's proud, closed off heart. Like Lottie, she frequently visits Sara and make her days just a bit brighter. [/spoiler]

[spoiler] Mariette's was meh, really. I wasn't interested in her from the beginning and her route was almost all her being cold, distant to poor Sara too. It's so-so, not terrible but I personally wouldn't choose her as my fav that's for sure [/spoiler]

[spoiler] The last is Rebecca (Becky). I think Becky is meant to be the canon girl and she totally deserves it. When Sara is in a terrible situation Becky's company was important to get her through it all. They do everything to protect and help each other. Becky is also the route that is automatically unlocked whether or not you did her events, but of course I read all hers because sweet girl deserves it. [/spoiler]

In conclusion how I feel about them : Becky = Ermengarde > Jessie > Lottie > Lavinia > Mariette

Теперь вот это... эх. И на этот раз даже отрицательный отзыв ставить не хочется. История в целом написана приятна. Интересный слог и ситуации... но, именно что ситуации.
Я как то предпочитаю более связанную историю, а не десяток отдельных ивентов. Или же, ивенты должны быть разделены геймплеем, который тут для галочки есть, но по факту его нет.

一般的电子小说更倾向于用类第一视角，而这个作品里旁白特别多，所以感觉是第三视角。
几个可攻略角色都塑造得蛮立体的，不过就情感质量来说，有很香的也有不咋地的。这或许也是没办法两全的事。角色要塑造立体，就难免带点缺陷。
养成系统实话说有点鸡肋……尤其是每个指令的随机程度太高了，个人建议每周都赛福罗德。

[spoiler]个人讨厌的角色（指角色本身，而不是塑造）比如那个一边又说“我把我的心给你”一边又为了讨好“朋友”欺负女主的红毛。另外，似乎很多人喜欢年长女仆，但是我总觉得她的塑造有点别扭，当然这也可能因为是我的英语太渣引起的误解？我莫名感觉她对主角并不完全真心。如果在转折之前她和女主没那么热络，没亲热到几乎母女相称的地步，那她的行为还可以理解。但是现在的表现简直……前后反差不要太大。我明白她也很穷，很难在经济上帮助女主，但是按照原来的亲热程度，她至少应该稍微体现一点关心而不是遇到女主掉头就走。或者其实剧情也可以描写成她看到女主落难却不能相助因而感到难过所以回避主角，但是并没有。剧情里她反而强调了因为被再次剥夺相对较好的职业前景而产生怨恨……所以说，她的心被自己的苦难填满了，所以对曾经（表现得）那么亲密的小朋友都没法给予一个默默关心的眼神咯？最后她当街下跪时女主问她是真的认为自己有错还是怕她生气，她居然沉默了……我真的无语。[/spoiler]

快速瞄了一下原著，有点明白为什么女主对三位同龄同学的态度有那种差异了。一开始我觉得女主好像对双麻花态度比对红毛和黑长直态度差一些，读了原著才发现原本黑长直和红毛就是“反派”和“路人甲”，女主在情况变化后和她们没有太多交集；和她交集比较多的就是双麻花，女主在这方面体现了她因为痛苦一时以为没有同学会真心愿意和她讲话的心态。结果游戏改编时留下了女主在境遇变化后和双麻花之间的误会，却没有把这种心态体现在她和红毛/黑长直的交流中。这就导致了一种奇怪的观感，好像女主对那俩家伙比对真心待她的双麻花还能体谅理解似的。
此游戏相对原著，感觉是洗白了黑长直（原著她是真的去告密让女主挨饿的），扩增了红毛和年长女仆的描写。个人感觉红毛和年长女仆的心态还蛮真实的，就是作为恋爱线一点也不甜，甚至有毒。另外原著红毛也没那么讨厌，黑长直告密后她直言说我们不该这样害女主挨饿。但是游戏里她的这点有点被她的反复横跳行为都掩盖了。

To sum things up right away anyway. It takes place in Victorian England and is small to medium size in length (~8h or so), its story contains a lot of 'feel good' elements but also has a more mature side to it down the line. The Characters are nice and stand out and the artwork is absolutely lovely.

An overall solid experience in what it offers.

A Little Lily Princess is an adaptation of one of my childhood favourite books, A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett, best known as the author of The Secret Garden. It imagines Sara Crewe and almost all of the supporting characters as lesbians, which I enjoyed as a lesbian who always seeks lesbian representation in the media I consume. This is one of the adaptations that stays closest to the overall story of the original novel, while carefully adding in fuller backstories for each of the supporting characters.

Sara Crewe is a sheltered, wealthy heiress born and raised in India, but like many English children at the time, sent away to boarding school when she becomes old enough that it's expected. Her father dies after abruptly losing his entire fortune, and she's turned into an indentured servant at the boarding school to repay the debts her father had to the seminary. She's gentle and kind, and strives to remain so despite the poor treatment she's put through at the hands of Miss Minchin, the seminary's headmistress.

Each route focuses on Sara's relationship with a different person in her world, from her former classmates, to her lady's maid, to a motherless younger child Sara took on a nurturing role with. Some of the routes are romantic, but they're very chaste and innocent, respecting the characters' young ages. There's no hint of romance whatsoever in the relationships Sara has with her much older maid or much younger school friend. Those relationships are purely mentoring and familial.

The adaptation includes more diversity than you'd expect from a game set in the Victorian era, having multiple mixed characters and characters of different racial backgrounds. It also gently pokes holes in some of the casual racism from the original novel, like Sara wondering why English children have to be sent away from India due to the "poor climate" while Indian children seem to do fine there. One character's route focuses a lot on internalized racism. There's also one character whose story focuses a lot on what she experiences as a specifically lesbian young woman, and I felt that story was told very well.

I've played the game to completion, and have replayed it more than once to re-read a specific character's route. I particularly enjoyed Jessie and Mariette's routes.

There's very little difficulty in this game compared to something like Long Live the Queen. You can't die, you can't even really miss a route you're set on going down. The only choices you make that influence the story are choosing which character's route to go down, and it's easy to replay and go down all six routes, thus seeing every aspect of the game. It's relaxing to play because of this. I really enjoyed the music of the game as well.

This game is really cute. Sara's a protagonist that's easy to sympathize with, being a kind girl who likes reading and telling stories. Her relationships with the other characters is genuinely heartwarming, and I loved the character-specific weekend scenes that show Sara developing a closer relationship with them. The randomness of the attributes from the activities does mean that you might not be able to get all the events in the first act, resulting in being locked out of completing a route, but that's not a problem as you can always restart and skip through parts you've already read to try again.
I wish there were a sequel to this game. Maybe there's still a chance? Buy this game so the developer considers making a sequel.

okay so, I haven't read the source material for A Little Lily Princess, but that didn't make the experience any less enjoyable for me. playing the game actually got me curious enough to look up Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel.

as some people have mentioned before, you don't make any real choices throughout the story. this is NOT a game where your choices matter. you get to raise Sara's stats so you can see the other girls' events and therefore get into someone's route, but that's all that you'll have to do. A Little Lily Princess is kind of like a kinect novel, it focus on the narrative and telling Sara's story.

order of my favorite romantic(ish) routes: Jessie - Becky - Ermengarde - Lavinia
order of my favorite platonic routes: Lottie - Mariette

the romance is very light, but I found it beautiful nonetheless. I hold Ermengarde and Becky dear to heart - however, I think that Jessie's route surprised me the most and that's why I catch myself thinking of it more than the others. they are just too precious and I would do anything for them.

This was such a delightful VN; I was moved to tears a number of times.

A Little Lily Princess tells a beautiful story of hope, kindness, and resilience -- while also managing to largely avoid the problematic implications Cinderella-like stories can sometimes have. Emotional suppression is not glamorized, and I can see that care was taken to make it clear that one's lot in life is not determined by what one "deserves" (i.e., bad circumstances don't mean you're a bad person, and good circumstances don't mean you're above those less fortunate).

Each of the routes was very good. It was a relief to see the creators be sensitive to the cast's ages -- not all routes are romantic, and even the routes that are never go beyond a chaste kiss as far as getting physical. As such, it manages to thoroughly avoid becoming creepy. I think the only negative thing I'd say about the entire game is that I felt like some of the routes ended very abruptly; it would have been nice to have an epilogue or something. But at the same time, that's also somewhat fitting for the story, for us to simply imagine (or "suppose," as Sara would say) what might happen after the ending of the game, so I don't mind it too much.

I particularly enjoyed the music. I felt it set the tone well, without being distracting during intense scenes. The art is also beautiful, especially in the CGs.

The controls are easy to grasp, and the RNG for determining your daily character stat increases is entirely reasonable. I focused on only one route at a time and found that I didn't actually need to "save scum" at all. I didn't encounter any type of glitches or anything while playing. The in-game checklist is nice, too. It has all the features you'd expect from a VN, such as music replay and a gallery.

As a visual novel, the time to complete the game is going to vary a lot based on your reading speed, and whether you re-read or skip previously read sections. I played through the whole thing quickly enough I didn't need to review things I'd already read and am a fast reader, but How Long to Beat indicates I finished quite a bit faster than most. Even with having finished it so fast, though, A Little Lily Princess was completely worth it to me.

It's not terrible, but the stat increases are super random which can make the game difficult. I enjoyed getting to know the different characters although being locked into only one character during part 2 was annoying.

The game is cute, but feels very half baked. The resource management is a bit obtuse but trivial after you understand what you're doing, but the amount of randomness involved makes it a bit frustrating until you realize the time constraints are basically meaningless.

The biggest let down however, is the story. The first act of the game is fine, but the second act of the game is severely lacking. To better explain, the base 'route' of the game is the same every time you play and you view additional scenes ontop of it by spending 'resources' on the various characters to bond with them. During the first act it doesn't seem strange at all, but in the second act it is because its plot doesn't change regardless of your choices.

Since the game 'locks' you into a single character arc durring the second act anyways, I really think they should have given every character their dedicated story. Instead it's just stapled on and feels out of place for most of the characters. ESPECIALLY Lavinias (which honestly makes me think the game needs another act between one and two).

It's not terrible, but there are better experiences. An okay purchase for a few bucks on sale but otherwise I really can't recommend.

Heartbreaking and heartwarming. A Little Lily Princess tells of a simple story but it tells it so exceedingly well it will stay with you for long. Delicate and poignant, just as the lovely music that carries it, it is bound to make you shed a tear. Six possible romances but there's clearly one that makes more sense than the others. I wonder if Sarah Waters has ever heard of this VN, I think she'd be delighted.

一周目其实就能大概知道每个人的大概性格（目前只玩了一周目）：
萨拉就不多说了，是个礼貌、富有爱心、喜欢幻想的好孩子，[spoiler]即使因为突如其来的变故陷入艰难也会自己调节让自己变得乐观度过困难时刻，在小小年纪承受了不少非难，熬过了困境终于迎来了转折，果然在万恶的旧社会要活得好就得有钱和权，过于现实。[/spoiler]
拉维尼亚就是个黑毛口嫌体正直的别扭傲娇，虽说有夸的成分，虽然我很喜欢这种人设就像[b] 式部帆夏（我老婆!!!）[/b]，但是在和黑毛相处过程中有时候恨不得打人，性格还是太糟糕了，不过最后的CG治愈了我，非常高兴能看到这个CG，我又能磕了！！！
洁西是个红毛小忠犬，是拉维尼亚的忠实忠犬，关系喜人，处处维护拉维尼亚，其实相处起来她的性格是很好的，和萨拉也能聊得很好。
洛蒂是个娃娃般的小孩，需要人哄着，其实本身也有自己判断能力，但年龄太小了，思维能力不是很成熟，[strike] 我也不想像美美香一样到时候成为美美香的狱友。[/strike]

贝基是学院的杂活女仆，出场比较晚，看图片不难看出这是爱情线，[strike]但是我看错了！！我只看了评论看成了黑毛！！！但是我喜欢黑毛！！！虽然黑毛性格别扭到让人想打人！！！自己的选的跪着都要做完！！！[/strike]贝基也很少接触，第一幕学院也只有萨拉会帮助贝基，第二幕也只有贝基会主动去安慰和陪着萨拉，两个人也有着相似的境遇，爱情线倒是也能理解。

Personally I found the randomness of what resources you get for doing various activities throughout the week rather annoying. It's just frustrating to me to need certain resources to play a particular scene, only to have to rely on a 33.3% you will get what you need from the actives you picked. If I want to play a game with more random elements in it, I would choose a different type of game, not a VN. Clearly a lot of people really like the game, it's just not for me.

I recommend this VN! (It's been a little while since I played it, so bear with me. Ahem.)

The art and music are really good, as well as the story and gameplay. Without going into too many spoilers, you can learn more about and get along better with various characters in the game, based on your results in the "activity" phase of the game. During this phase, you can choose which activity to do for the day, and depending on which one you do, you get certain points to various stats, which then allow you to interact with various characters.

There's also a surprise change halfway through the game, though again, I won't spoil it. It certainly caught me by surprise, and I liked how it was implemented into the "activity" phase.

A Little Lily Princess is a cute story that follows a young, optimistic girl around the turn of the 20th century, away at a boarding school for the first time. The story takes place over the course of 36 weeks separated into two acts. At the beginning of each week, you can choose a focus for a side story. Overall, I liked the story and I liked going through the different endings, though I do think that the second act was rushed; things just wrapped up far too quickly and neatly. But there are certainly some touching moments and I'm glad I read through this story. I also thought the music was quite nice but as for CG, the art is very good but there aren't very many pictures; only 21, six of them chibi.

Surprisingly faithful adaptation of the source material. The story is charming, endearing and uplifting. The protagonist is awesome. The art is cute. This is one of those "curl up in a blanket with a nice cup of tea" type of reading material, so if that jives with your mood it's a probably a safe bet to get it.

本人英语不太好，通关一条线的时间好像有点长了XD在通关游戏后当晚立马就去把电影给补了，《小公主》真的好好看！！！(=ó∀ò)体验到了喜欢的作品以不同形式出现时的那种喜悦感了，尤其是在电影里看到了在之前在游戏出现过，那些熟悉的句子的时候会回想当时玩游戏的想法，这种感觉是真的快乐嘿嘿嘿。

和养成类游戏一样，你每周都要进行不同的活动来提升自身数值，只有到相应数值才能触发该人物的事件来提升好感，在最后可以选择好感度最高的一位在一起（偷偷去社区中心看了一眼，看到每个结局的插画截图是真的香爆wwwww）游戏和电影的结局是不一样的，不过最后我还是和电影一样，选择了小女仆贝奇嘿嘿嘿(*^ω^*)

没有官中，英肉有些难啃，而且里面其中还有不少法语（第一次出现会有解释），不过还是极力推荐，如果看过《小公主》的那就更不用说了

电影和游戏里蛮多东西都不一样的，电影注重叙述了萨拉父亲去世后的部分，而游戏里详写了萨拉富有时在学校里的日常（也不知道小说原著里是不是也安插了这么多校园日常篇幅在里面）。

[spoiler] 相比起电影里萨拉的形象，游戏从文字里表现出的萨拉则显得更为成熟，处理问题的时候总是有条不紊的，就像个小大人一样。但电影里的萨拉表现得更为天真活泼，更符合她那个年龄的孩子的形象（游戏没有的一段是萨拉反驳老师说“我是公主，所有的女孩都是公主，即使她们不聪明不漂亮也不年轻,她们还是公主，我们全都是。你父亲没有告诉过你?”直接把老师给破防了）。游戏和电影里影响最深的还是萨拉沦为女佣，但还保有一颗纯真善良的心，尽管自己身无分文，也愿意把别人施舍用自己的钱拿去给街边卖花的孩子买面包，真心觉得这孩子是真的好善良呜呜呜呜，她才是名副其实的小公主！！！ [/spoiler]

I read the book that this was based off of as a kid and I loved it. This VN does a great job capturing the same vibe, and it's super cute. The stat raising is easy and not too tedious. Definitely recommend picking this one up. :]

Very good game. It follows the book surprisingly accurately, probably more so then most adaptation movies i've seen, with the extra that it's yuri. It's cute, sad, and has all the powerful moments of the novel that made me fall in love with the story. Also yuri which is great. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys yuri, the original novel, or just good storytelling in general

I haven't finished my first play through yet, but it's a very wholesome game so far. All the characters are sweet and feel well-rounded, while every scene is enjoyable to read. The art is really pleasing and I haven't noticed any drastic shifts in quality. I would think the only thing I'm not super fond of is the stat building aspect--I usually love stat building, but the way they set it up here is a little too easy for my taste. But that can be good in it's own way if you want something relaxing. Overall, would recommend if you're a fan of visual novels.

It is amazing how there are so many splendid stories and hidden gems in forms of Visual Novels around steam.

Each and every one of these gems has some kind of special magic to them, and A little Lily Princess is no exception to this rule.
I will approach this review from a more emotional and personal angle because in the end, this Novel touched me from exactly these angles. Nontheless I still try to avoid spoilers as much as possible. Everything this review hits upon can also be taken from the small text at the store page so no worries about that.

A little Lily Princess is a story of a girl meeting with misfortune, misery, hardships and just simply full on unfair and relentless situations and treatment, and yet exactly there is where the magic happens. The protagonist always keeps her positive mental attitude. It is honestly astonishing to me how well it was written, given that I really got emotionally invested over the course of this game. And it is not Route dependent, as there are multiple routes for multiple characters in this game. No it is simply the story and the journey of the protagonist, no matter which route you choose, that is working like a spell on me. Also, each route features a girl with unique characteristics and personality so it was very enjoyable to meet them all and did not felt repetitive going through them.

As someone with a lot of problems to stay positive, as probably a lot of you might be able to understand, it’s very easy to not only give into despair and sadness, but even boost it through your own negative mentality. So actually experiencing a story that is so full of positive mentality, even while facing cruel misery and hardships, is really something magically to me. I can feel nothing but fascination, admiration and honestly a little jealousy towards the protagonist and how well written it is in general.

It is not just the positivity in general, as the protagonist knows all too well that positive thoughts can only carry you so far, but a sincere heart. It is the belief in kindness, companionship and being a good person that is displayed in this protagonist. Encountering hardship and cruel unfairness with a smile and the thought that still somewhere, someone has it worse and could use the help, the food or anything more than the protagonist herself and then proceeding to brighten up someone else’s day. Moreover doubting her own behavior, wether she is at fault for the ill behavior of others, and how she could improve and make things better. Absolutely amazing traits a lot of people sadly miss nowadays, as it becomes harder and harder to find something positive in this world.

The music of this novel is honestly nothing to special or fancy, but it really does its job at supporting the different scene and scenarios of the novel. After all a fitting soundtrack in the background can make a sad scene even sadder just as a joyous scene even happier. And I think the soundtrack of this novel does maybe not excel at this job, but definitely covers the necessities.

The artwork is also really good in my opinion. Inma is the character artist of the Sakura Novel Series so I was already introduced to her work long ago, but I can still appreciate her work and think she does a great job.

Overall in terms of pure quality of the soundtrack and the artworks, characters and backgrounds, this novel might be just a decent experience at best and pretty standard, but given the story to back it up and tie everything together, it makes for a really great experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

I did not expect a whole lot of this novel, yet I was thoroughly surprised and it left a VERY positive impression and experience that I am grateful for.

quite fun, plays like "long live the queen" but you dont die. some mechanics get tedius by your 3rd playthrough, such as a random chance of learning nothing for a day.

the plot on most paths is quite wonderful, i found myself fond of most of the characters(even lavina). found lotte to be creepy as hell though. fair warning, this story touches on the depths of despair. you WILL cry.

for those familiar with "a little princess" the overall plot is loyal enough to the story, some extras are different, and of course the girls had to have their individual plots filled in more. it does NOT share the perfect end seen in the film though

some spoiler advice:
ermengaurd and lavina have a time limit on their events, if you are trying to set up multiple routes focus on their needs first, becky will always be available in act 2, even if you ignore her route. there are enough days for 3 full girl paths, and becky if you did not skip weeks. but at act 2 you must choose a single path

you cannot loose though, if u reach the end without acomplishing a path, there is a default girl. and the game will go indefinately until you see her events, it will just go back and forth between week setup, and event choice, until you finish.

First, I did read the book and see the movie, but it's been so long I barely remember it, so I can't speak to how much it captures the feel of the source content. However, on its own, the game is very sweet and enjoyable.

The routes vary in how romantic they are. Two are not romantic at all (one involving a character much younger and one a character much older than MC) and involve a more familial dynamic. Due to the setting and the age of the characters, there is very little explicit discussion of the nature of the characters' relationships, with only one character outright saying they like women, but the relationships feel appropriate for the story and were still very cute (no spoilers, but I in particular loved the ending CG for Becky's route).

The MC feels a little too perfect at times, but the other characters are much more rounded out, and some especially have some complex themes in their routes.

I enjoyed the writing and the way it felt more like reading an actual novel, but be aware it is very text-heavy. The random elements of the stats could feel a bit irritating at times, but it rarely became a true issue and the game alerts you when routes are about to be locked off.

The art is very nice, though there is one outfit that the MC wears that, while very cute, feels really out of place and is used more than once, making it kind of distracting.

I'd say depending on how quickly you read, you'll probably get a few hours out of the initial playthrough, with the additional routes maybe taking another hour or so with the text skip turned on (ignore my playtime, I left the game running woops).

Overall, I really recommend this for fans of sapphic stories, especially those looking for something more focused on the overall relationship and not just the romantic tension. I honestly wish more games like this were out there.

--- Review after finishing the game for the 1st time ---

"A Little Lily Princess" is absolutely wonderful game. While having an amazing art style and pretty good soundtrack, the thing I loved the most in the game was how it allows player to feel like he's having a real friend who cares about him without considering his wealthiness first (could depend on route, I'm talking about Ermengarde).

Another great addition is the fact that the game is literary adaptation itself ("A Little Princess" by Frances Hodgson Burnett) it has some other literary pieces mentioned. Main character, Sara, is fond of literature so we can see her reading "Poèmes antiques" by Leconte de Lisle or "The French Revolution: A History" by Thomas Carlyle. As the player can easily fall in love with Sara it actually can be encouraging to read mentioned books (me being an example, currently reading reading de Lisle).

This moving story surely will deliver a player a lot of innocent warmth to his heart (depending on what events you choose). I definitely recommend this game because I've not felt mentioned emotions for such a long time. Do yourself a favour and get to know Sara Crewe, you won't regret it. Her kind soul will be a blessing to your desolated heart.
