2013年Milestone工作室推出的《WRC 4》，放在整个WRC游戏系列发展史里，绝对是承前启后的关键一步。它用全新的Spikengine引擎换掉了前作陈旧的技术框架，既保留了官方授权带来的原汁原味，又在生涯模式、物理手感上完成了扎实升级。哪怕放到十多年后的今天，当玩家打开这款老游戏，依然能从中感受到拉力赛最纯粹的魅力——那种和未知路况缠斗、和自己极限较劲的紧张感，从未因时间褪色。
作为官方授权作品，《WRC 4》最核心的优势就是完整还原了2013赛季WRC的全部样貌。游戏收录了超过五十条经过官方认证的特殊赛段，覆盖全球13个国家截然不同的地貌：从瑞典冻到开裂的冰雪赛道，到墨西哥滚烫的松散砂石，从澳大利亚崎岖的山林小道，到法国阿尔萨斯特有的窄小柏油路，每一条赛道都带着鲜明的地域性格。你开着福特嘉年华冲进芬兰森林，轮胎碾过积雪下的冰面时会不由自主攥紧方向盘；换到阿根廷的泥泞赛道，泥浆裹着轮胎让车身不断下坠，每一次给油都得小心翼翼。更难得的是，游戏完整保留了当年全部的车队、车手信息，从WRC顶级组别的雪铁龙、大众车队，到JWRC青年组的小众车型，喜欢收藏不同赛车的玩家总能在这里找到惊喜。这种对真实赛事的还原度，在当年的拉力游戏里并不多见，也给了拉力迷最想要的沉浸感。

重新设计的生涯模式，是《WRC 4》另一大亮点。前作的生涯模式更像是单纯的“比赛-解锁”循环，而这一次，制作方真的做了一条完整的车手成长线：你从一个名不见经传的新人起步，只能和小车队签约，开着调校平平的次级赛车打低级赛事，每一分积分都得拼尽全力；随着成绩提升，你会慢慢拿到大厂车队的邀约，从青年组升到WRC2，再最终进入顶级的WRC组别，驾驶最顶尖的赛车冲击总冠军。更贴心的是，游戏加入了真实的赛事规则细节：每个分站赛前有勘路机会，你得跟着领航员记住每一个弯道的角度和危险点；赛段之间的维修区有严格的时间限制，你得算好优先级修损坏的部件，是先修歪掉的悬挂，还是先补轮胎磨损，每一个选择都影响下一个赛段的成绩。就连车辆调校也给足了专业选项：悬挂硬度、变速箱齿比、差速器锁止率、轮胎压力，每一项都能根据赛段路况调整，如果你是硬核玩家，可以对着参数调上半天，新手直接用默认设置也能正常比赛，这种兼顾专业和休闲的设计，做得非常舒服。
画面和音效的提升，也让沉浸感更上一层楼。在2013年的同类型游戏里，《WRC 4》的画面表现属于第一梯队：车辆模型的精细度比前作提升明显，车内视角的仪表盘读数清晰可见，赛道远景的植被、路边的观众都做了细化，不会像前作那样模糊成片。虽然今天来看贴图精度已经不够看，但当时打开游戏，看着风吹过路边树林、阳光透过挡风玻璃洒在方向盘上，那种新鲜感至今难忘。音效方面做得好坏参半：好评的地方在于，制作组采集了真实的引擎声，不同转速区间的声浪层次分明，砂石路面上小石子打在底盘上叮叮当当的声响，雪地轮胎打滑时那种沉闷的摩擦声，都做得非常真实，坐在驾驶室里听着这些声音，真的有种自己开着赛车在狂奔的感觉；但也有遗憾，比如长时间比赛后，单调的引擎声确实容易让人疲劳，换挡的爆裂声有些刺耳，赛事过程中没有背景音点缀，对于习惯了热闹赛车游戏的玩家来说，可能会觉得有些枯燥。
当然，作为一款十多年前的老游戏，《WRC 4》也难免带着时代的局限。比如车辆污垢系统做得不够细致，你在泥地里跑完整场比赛，车身上也不会累积太多泥浆，少了一点“战损”的真实感；AI对手虽然成绩上很有竞争力，但因为拉力赛本身是计时赛制，很少有同场缠斗的机会，AI也不会在赛道上给你制造额外的干扰，整体对抗性不算强；还有部分赛道的天气变化比较单一，没有后续作品那样动态天气带来的变数。这些缺点其实都情有可原，毕竟受限于当年的技术和开发成本，它已经完成了自己的使命。
总的来说，《WRC 4》是一款被低估的拉力佳作。它没有《尘埃》系列那样光鲜的名气，却靠着官方授权的专业性、扎实的物理手感和完整的成长线，给玩家交出了一份满意的答卷。它没有刻意去讨好非核心玩家，也没有把门槛抬得让新手望而却步，就是安安静静把拉力赛最本质的样子摆在你面前——没有街头飙车的酷炫，没有好莱坞式的剧情冲突，只有领航员的报点声、引擎的轰鸣，和前方未知的弯道。对于喜欢拉力赛的玩家来说，这就够了。哪怕现在系列已经出到了《WRC Generations》，回头再玩《WRC 4》，依然能感受到那种纯粹的速度快乐，它就像一位久经沙场的老将，虽然脸上有了岁月的痕迹，却依然藏着那颗热爱拉力的心脏。

Gra nie powala. Poziom trudności nawet przy najcięższym poziomie kierowania jest bardzo niski, ponadto grafika przypomina gry z serii Colin Mcrae które były 8-9 lat starsze, co mówi samo za siebie... Jedyny plus to licencja ale to norma jeśli gra nie ma konkurencji i twórcy mają ją na wyłączność.

[h2]WRC 4 – вимираючий вид "сим-кад" Rally[/h2]
Цього разу в огляді — гра за офіційною ліцензією World Rally Championship.
Передусім хочу сказати, що за останні роки цей жанр дуже сильно змістився в бік жорстких симуляторів.

І ні, я не хочу сказати, що це погано.
[b]Погано інше:[/b] разом із цим майже зникли більш доступні ігри для масового гравця — того, хто не хоче купувати комплект із кермом та педалями заради одного жанру, але при цьому все одно любить проїхатися спецділянками умовної Австралії, користуючись лише клавіатурою або геймпадом.
Ось ця гра і є практично останнім прикладом такого підходу — своєрідного «сим-кад Rally».

[h3]Порівняння[/h3]
Саму гру дуже часто порівнюють із найближчим за духом ралійним проєктом від Codemasters — DiRT 3.
Мовляв, та сама тематика, близькі роки релізу і загалом один жанр, тож їх легко поставити поруч.
Втім, на мою думку, таке порівняння доречне хіба що з точки зору графіки. На перший погляд ігри дійсно можуть здатися схожими, але це лише поверхневе враження, а ось на практиці схожого там мало.

WRC 4, на відміну від DiRT 3, повністю спирається на ліцензійний контент.
Тут є справжні чемпіонати, реальні команди, пілоти та штурмани. Уся структура гри намагається відтворити події з реального світу ралі.
У той самий час DiRT 3 — це значно більш аркадна гра, яка не надто прив’язується до реальних чемпіонатів і радше намагається передати атмосферу дорогого автоспортивного шоу. Достатньо згадати хоча б режим Gymkhana.

Тож який невеличкий висновок можна зробити? WRC 4 — це суміш симулятора й аркади. Вона трохи серйозніша за свого головного конкурента і при цьому повністю зосереджена на відтворенні реального сезонного ралі.

[h3]Структура гри та геймплей[/h3]
Гра побудована таким чином, що ви можете одразу вирушити підкорювати світовий чемпіонат, або ж обрати режим кар’єри й поступово пройти весь шлях, починаючи з WRC Junior, далі переходячи до WRC-3, потім до WRC-2 і зрештою до головної ліги — WRC, крок за кроком просуваючись до титулу чемпіона світу.

Самі перегони проходять на досить детально опрацьованих спецділянках. Кожна країна поділена на шість етапів, які двічі перериваються технічними зонами. Саме там у вас з’являється можливість відремонтувати автомобіль і трохи підкоригувати його налаштування.

Керування тут доволі слухняне. Варто лише трохи призвичаїтися до поведінки машини та навчитися правильно входити в повороти (для кожної ліги тут свої нюанси) — і процес стає по-справжньому приємним.

Як і в більшості ігор цього жанру, тут є повний набір камер спостереження за автомобілем. Але я б радив обирати саме вид із кабіни — кокпіт. Саме так, як на мене, найкраще відчувається ритм цих шалених заїздів.

Після завершення спецділянки можна переглянути реплей своїх викрутасів на трасі.
У грі також присутній фоторежим, але є один дивний нюанс: у ньому чомусь немає можливості приховати ігровий інтерфейс. Тож для отримання гарного кадру доведеться користуватися сторонніми редакторами.

Також у грі є модна на той час функція відмотування часу — «rewind/flashback», яка дозволяє швидко виправити аварійну ситуацію. Якщо ж комусь така механіка не подобається, її без проблем можна вимкнути в налаштуваннях.

Взагалі меню дозволяє досить гнучко налаштовувати допоміжні системи: стабілізацію автомобіля, допомога з гамлюванням...
Дуже круто, що окремо можна регулювати рівень майстерності штучного інтелекту та ступінь пошкоджень автомобіля з впливом на його поведінку.
Особливо зручно те, що складність суперників можна змінювати майже на льоту.

Наприклад, якщо ви почали гру на середньому рівні, щоб розібратися з механіками та вивчити поведінку авто, а згодом відчуваєте, що вже досить впевнено керуєте своїм сталевим конем і суперники починають безнадійно ковтати пил позаду, їхній рівень завжди можна трохи підвищити, навіть посередені вже початого чемпіонату.

Загалом на цьому, мабуть, усе. Як я вже казав, гра повністю зосереджена на відтворенні реального чемпіонату. І головне, що хочеться підкреслити ще раз: це проєкт, який дозволяє комфортно грати без додаткового обладнання і не змушує занурюватися в надто складні симуляторні механіки.
Це просто хороша й доступна для кожного ралійна гра, яку під час розпродажів можна купити буквально за пів чашки кави.

[h3]Технічні нюанси[/h3]
Але є кілька технічних моментів, про які варто сказати.

Під час встановлення гри на сучасну систему в мене виникла проблема з коректним відображенням картинки.
У той момент, коли мав початися геймплей, на екрані з’являвся лише чорний фон, хоча звуки гри продовжували лунати. Очевидно, проблема була пов’язана з рендерингом.
Для її вирішення я скористався програмою dgVoodoo 2, яка вже не раз допомагала мені в подібних ситуаціях зі старими іграми.

Ще один нюанс пов’язаний із серверами та непрацюючим мультиплеєром.
Після кожної спецділянки доведеться нескінченно чекати, поки гра намагатиметься завантажити ваш результат на сервер.
Втім, це теж вирішується доволі просто: достатньо додати гру до файєрвола і заборонити для неї як вхідний, так і вихідний мережевий трафік. Після цього зайві затримки зникають.

Ну от тепер, здається, точно все. Як би там не було, я цілком можу рекомендувати цю гру до ознайомлення.
Для тих, хто любить ралі, але не прагне надмірної симуляторної складності, вона й сьогодні залишається дуже приємним варіантом.

Oyunun sürüş mekanikleri bana göre ''kütük'' kalıyor. Sanki oynarken oyunda gecikme varmış da bastıktan biraz sonra algılıyor gibiydi. Sonrasında Traction yardımını açtım ve azıcık daha düzeldi. Açıkçası diğer ralli oyunları ile kapışamayacak bir yapım ile beraberiz. Çoğu yerde mobil oyun hissi veriyor. Simulasyon olmak ile alakası yok, saf arcade ama kalitesiz bir arcade. Ses ve Atmosfer konusunda ise biraz daha başarılı. Motor sesleri, aracın kesiciye girmesi vesaire hoş ve tatmin edici.

Diğer taraftan teknik sorunlar bitmiyor. Oyunda max 1080p çözünürlük var. Başlangıçta sorduğu ayarlarda 144hz seçmeme rağmen 72fps'i geçmedi. Birazcık uğraştıktan sonra sorun düzeldi ama kendisinden de birazcık soğuttu. Yaşadığım en büyük sorun ise ses problemi. Sesler durduk yere kesiliyor, gitmediği zamanlarda ise sistemin sesini otomatik olarak kısıyor ya da sol kulaklığı devre dışı vs. bırakıyor. Evet kulağa oldukça saçma geliyor ama maalesef böyle saçma salak sorunlar yaşanıyor :d

Sonuç olarak benim için kötü bir ralli deneyimi oldu. Ses sorunları yaşamasaydım daha fazla oynardım ama katlanılacak gibi değil.

I used to love this game on my vita, glad it's still listed for sale. This is quite an old and dated game but still a very fun arcade rally game. I was able to get it running on my steam deck through the latest build of Ge proton. took a white to boot, but payed fine afterwards.

on sale as of this review for 99 cents, definitely fun for that price. handling is very arcadey, don't expect some gem of a rally simulator going into it. it's also a bit of a technical marvel in how outdated it is for 2013, extremely stuttery without DXVK (and even then it stutters hard if you play it past 120fps). requires editing a config file and enabling triple monitor support, then locking said config file to read-only to play past 1080p.

despite of this, it's pretty fun for what it is and i'd recommend it for a good afternoon.

You are probably playing this game in 2026 or sometime after 2013, because a) it was on sale for super cheap (under $1) b) you are looking for a rally game that doesn't take over 100GB of hard drive space c) you loved this game in 2013 and are nostalgic. d) your computer is a potato and you need to play older games to run it.

As a person who have played numerous incarnations of this game, for me I came back to remind myself how was WRC 4 over 12 years ago.

Of course, the graphics of then has nothing on the graphics of rally cars today. But nevertheless, I found it a lot easier to control rally cars with older versions of WRC vs. later versions.

Now here is the problem of playing this game in today's modern computers. You can have the greatest graphics card and high powered CPU, but because the game is older, the wait time is insanely slow. It's one thing to wait 5 minutes to get into a race but once race is done, it's another long wait.

But the nevertheless, this is the oldest WRC game on STEAM. You are not going to find the older Sony games developed by Evolution Studios but you will find the games developed by Milestone, WRC 5-WRC Generations developed by Kylotonn and published by Bigben Interactive now known as Nacon and of course the Codemasters/EA Sports years.

So, I think for people who want to go far back and try an early rally game, will find this one pretty cool. In fact, it's a lot better than some of modern indie rally games that have been released considering its age.

But again, this is old school, it's cheap and it takes forever to load on modern, more powerful machines.

Again wait for a sale when you can purchase this game for under a dollar!

WRC系列现在能买到里最简单的一代，但是没有简体中文不过有点英文功底也能玩，还是很好玩的但是Xbox 控制器只有“A”，“B”和“menu”键有作用，但是十多年前的游戏就不强求了，挺好玩的

- Pas adapté aux PC modernes et aux résolutions d'écran modernes
- Moche et rame
- Aucune sensations : passer d'une surface à l'autre ça change rien (neige = asphalte = terre)
- Vibration quasiment absentes et donc pas immersif
- Les spéciales se ressemblent toutes, on a l'impression que c'est du copier/coller avec juste l'environnement de fond qui change.
- Serveurs hors ligne donc il faut attendre 20 secondes quand on lance le jeu avant de pouvoir naviguer dans les menus et à chaque fin de spéciale, il faut dire d'annuler la connexion aux serveurs

Bref, il est sorti y'a longtemps donc on peut être indulgent sur certains points. Mais à l'époque c'était pas terrible hein.
Ça vaut pas plus d'un euro.

Grafika síce ešte i dnes v celku obstojí (naozaj nechápem ako je mozne ze tam v takto starých hrách nie su zuby napriklad na zvodidlách a sú tam čisté zaoblené linie. Za to i mnoho dnešnych hier ma viditelne zuby na zaoblenych hranách), ale podpora volantu je príšerná a napriklad s mojim Ligitech G920 si hru neviem užiť nakolko mi plyn ide na plno a viem len dobrzdovat a aj to som povodne mal ako plyn spojkovy pedal a uz len to aby som to prehodil na spravny fyzický pedal mi dalo riadne zabrať.
Takže dnes už nehrateľné, jedine na klavesnici. Každopádne páči sa mi tu ten režim kariéry.

Cara, eu joguei e esse aqui é para quem curte a essência do rali de verdade, sem muita firula. O que eu mais achei legal é como o carro responde diferente em cada piso, seja na terra batida ou no asfalto molhado; você sente que qualquer erro bobo te joga para fora da pista. O modo carreira te faz sentir um piloto subindo degrau por degrau, começando nas categorias menores até chegar no topo do WRC. O som dos motores e o copiloto passando as notas rápido dão uma imersão muito boa, fazendo você se concentrar 100% no trajeto. É um jogo que recompensa muito a técnica e a paciência de quem quer dominar as curvas mais fechadas do mundo.

Truly a relic of the past. My first introduction when launching the game was that it failed to detect my gpu so I had to play it with integrated graphics and even then the igpu was barely utilized. Besides anti-aliasing there are no graphic settings either. The game itself looks ugly and the handling is awful plus you're getting bombarded with error messages each time you finish a stage since the servers have long been retired. It doesn't seem like the game has a proper controller support as the icons still show a keyboard input. Considering this and wrc 5 are only 2 years apart, I see no reason why you should play it, wrc 5 is a day and night difference and costs the same.

WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship — A Classic Rally Experience That Still Delivers.

Even for its age, WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship still looks good and delivers a fun arcade-style rally experience. The tracks are varied and challenging, though some sections reuse similar layouts, it never feels boring. Visually it holds up better than many contemporaries, and the handling strikes a great balance between accessible and exciting.

There are some technical hiccups — the game runs at a locked 30 FPS and has occasional glitches that players have learned to work around — and the official online features no longer function. However, these issues don’t take away from the core fun. Unlike the later WRC titles from KT Racing, which aim for realism and often miss the mark, WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship keeps things enjoyable and arcade-friendly without overcomplicating the driving.

Overall, it remains one of the best arcade rally games available — fun, nostalgic, and still worth playing today.

WRC 4 being released back in 2013 still has amazing graphics. The visuals, textures and sound design like the engine sounds of each car is different which is great for a 2013 game where even newer AAA rally games do copy paste sound design in their game sometimes. The cockpit view feels so realistic and it gives a pure rally experience for it's time. The physics on the other hand is so bad. The cars bouncing off to obstacles like a toy car. Overall I like WRC 4 so much but the career feels like never ending and on a loop even the completing the whole game.

WRC 4 стала для меня первой игрой серии и первой игрой про ралли в принципе, которую я прошел до конца. Поначалу, взявшись за прохождение, я не ждал от игры чего то особенного, но, чем дольше я играл, тем больше мне начинало нравиться. По итогу могу сказать, что это крайне добротная раллийная симкада, в которой умело сочетаются частичная реалистичность и веселье от езды.
Из недостатков могу лишь отметить отключение онлайн серверов (онлайн достижения теперь недоступны) и мелкие технические проблемы, вроде постоянного пропадания звука.
В остальном могу лишь рекомендовать игру к покупке, игра станет прекрасной точкой входа в ралли (по крайней мере, для меня она таковой стала) и точно подарит вам несколько веселых вечеров.

Don't hate the game, hate the FIA! Milestone brought us WRC 4 back in 2013, which follows the World Rally Championship schedules of the same season. Did they deliver? Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder... This game is over 12 years old but still looks great! Although I was also affected by a major sound bug, which was slightly irritating but did not ruin my experience completely. My only real complaint is the length of the rallies. I found myself repeating the same sections of a rally, even with such a small number of stages. So if you don't mind quiet and somewhat repetitive stages, this game is still playable (minus online content) even in 2026! Wait for a sale and give this gem a try!

WRC 4 é um jogo de corrida clássico da sétima geração de consoles, desenvolvido pela Milestone, os mesmos criadores de Hotwheels Unleashed no futuro, o jogo é ambientado no cenário de Rally de 2013 então todos os carros e pilotos presentes são daquela época.

Em termos de gameplay, o jogo apresenta dois modos principais, modo carreira e modo "arcade".
O modo arcade permite você selecionar qualquer equipe de qualquer categoria e correr em qualquer special stage que quiser, também é possível jogar campeonatos inteiros aqui.
Já o modo carreira é o modo principal do jogo que possui uma progressão semi linear onde você começa na categoria de WRC Junior e vai aumentando a sua fama até chegar na categoria final (WRC). Eu disse que a progressão era semi linear e o motivo é que você não é obrigado a ir para a próxima categoria, se você conseguir fama o suficiente, já pode assinar um contrato com uma equipe de uma categoria acima da que você normalmente subiria (Junior para WRC 2 ao invés de WRC 3).

Ainda dentro do tópico de gameplay, vamos comentar sobre a jogabilidade do jogo em si. O jogo se encontra em um ponto entre Arcade e Simulação similar aos jogos da série Forza, onde o carro é fácil de controlar, mas não se parece com um veículo de brinquedo super leve. O jogo contêm uma física de dano onde peças do carro podem ficar danificados fazendo com que a corrida fique difícil (ou impossível dependendo do dano). Entretanto essa física possuí falhas e varias vezes você vai bater e não vai nem arranhar o carro e em outras você vai esbarrar em uma quina e o carro vai quebrar a roda, o freio e a suspensão ao mesmo tempo. Outra coisa importante de mencionar é a dificuldade do jogo, ou no caso, a falta dela. Confesso que fiquei um pouco decepcionado com esse aspecto do jogo, eu não perdi nenhum campeonato mesmo jogando distraído sem prestar atenção nas notas de navegação, a ultima corrida do jogo foi exatamente igual a primeira.

No quesito multiplayer, o jogo não tem mais servidores, não sendo possível jogar o seu modo online mais e tornando coisas como o 100% impossível de se conseguir por meios normais.

Com isso tudo chegamos a hora do veredito, WRC 4 é um jogo sólido, porém fraco, vai te entreter por uma tarde e só basicamente, e o motivo não é nem por falta de um modo carreira interessante, mas pela falta de desafio em si. No final o jogo fica mais arrastado do que divertido. Entretanto eu ainda vou recomendar o jogo, pois ele me custou 2 reais na promoção (preço de caixa do CS) e 2 reais para uma tarde de entretenimento parece justo para mim. Imagino que o jogo deveria ser mais legal na época quando o modo online ainda existia e tinha uma base de jogadores, mas nos dias atuais, WRC 4 é um sólido 6/10.

I bought this game in 2026, lol. And I don't regret buying it given that I'm new to racing games and, for now, playing on keyboard. Modern Rally Games are difficult to play either on controller or keyboard. So, I'm enjoying playing an old WRC title, as I'm paricularly interested in the history of WRC. I'd like to learn more about the stages that are probably excluded from the current WRC, that's quite interesting to explore. Also, I can learn about the cars and drivers more. Overall, I have a lot of fun playing the game. I can't wait to progress towards the latest WRC titles. My plan is to move on to 5 next, and then experience 6,7,8,9,10, Generations and, finally EA WRC. By the time I reach the latest titles, I will have bought a steering wheel to experience Rally Racing Games in the best way possible.

Finding it difficult to leave a positive review.

There's a major sound bug that never seemed to be patched. After every race in career, my sound would cut out and I'd be forced to restart the game. The recommended troubleshooting didn't work for me.

i really wanna enjoy this one but the flaws just out shadow the positives, the car itself flips way to easily i feel like im driving a toy car here, the game gets very repetetive cus the lack of unique stages and cars and the phase notes dont feel all too good either but thats more of a nitpick, also unlike what the tags say it is not a sim racer more like a simcade and somehow it stutters quite a bit on modern hardware

現在ネット上で集められるだけの情報では「起動からメニューに至るまでの異常に長いロード時間の問題を解決する事」ができませんでした
一部では公式サーバーにアクセスしては失敗しまくってるのでは？との事でファイアーウォールの設定で回避できたとありましたが、僕には効果なし
さらに僕は確認していませんがステージ終了毎にも異常な待ち時間が発生しているとの報告が多数あり(僕は起動時の問題が解決しない限り続けてプレイする事はないのでそこまで確認してない)
確かな事はこのゲームはよくあるまともに遊べない状態にも関わらず販売している系のものと思って差し支えはないでしょう
ていうか、なんで2026年の今になってWRC4のレビューなんか真剣に書いているんだろう…
目的として興味本位で誰かが手を出して無駄な時間を過ごしてしまわないような防波堤の役割くらいにはなるでしょう
例え100円で売っていて尚且つ返品が可能だとしても、このゲームに関わった全ての時間が無駄になるのは僕だけでいい…(かっこいい！)

WRC 4 – Still Fun To Be Had Here
Playing WRC 4 in 2026, it’s kind of cool how much fun this game still is. especially from a game put out in 2013, WRC 4 isn’t the most hardcore rally sim on the planet, it never was, even at release — and and that's why it works as a fun rally game, even today.

Easy to Jump Into
One of the best things about it is how instantly playable it is. You don’t need to spend half an hour tweaking settings or learning some complicated handling model, the physics are friendly and so is the handling, making it fun for veterans looking for nostalgia or new comers, and achievement hunters. You just pick a car, hit a stage, and you’re off. It’s the kind of game where you can say “I’ll just do one quick run” and suddenly it’s an hour later.

Fun First, There's A Challenge Still to Be Found
Even though it’s super approachable, WRC 4 still has that competitive bite. Once you get comfortable, you start pushing harder, trying to nail those corners cleaner, and chasing faster times. It’s got that perfect loop of “easy to learn, satisfying to master,” which keeps you coming back for just one more stage.

Still Pretty Decent for 2013
For a game that's over decade old, it holds up better than you might think. The physics feel fun and approachable, the stages are varied and still represent their intended countries well, and the whole thing has a nostalgic feel about it that makes it really enjoyable to revisit, it's nor a Retro Rally, but its no longer a modern Rally Sim either. You can see the early DNA of what KT Racing would go on to build in later WRC titles.

WRC 4 might not be the flashiest rally game out there today, but it’s still a genuinely fun rally game with loads of personality — and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

Also, if you're having issues with the sound but at the end of the stage here’s the fix:
NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings -> wrc4.exe -> Max Frame Rate 60 -> Vertical Sync ON.
Now start the game and in the pre-launcher check “Wait for V-Sync” and set it to 60Hz.
This should permanently fix the sound issue

50/50 Achievements | 100% Completion | 24 Hours Played

Compared to the more recent entries in the WRC series, this one definitely feels slower — and I don’t just mean the cars. Menus take their time, transitions take their time, and the game itself sometimes feels like it’s thinking about life before letting you drive.

That said, once you’re actually on the stages, it’s still a solid old-school rally experience. The driving is enjoyable and has that classic WRC feel, even if everything around it moves at a very relaxed pace.

I’m fairly sure around 30% of my total playtime was spent waiting for things to happen, with another 20–30 seconds of downtime between almost every stage. Not exactly thrilling, and definitely boring at times.

Still, despite the waiting simulator elements, it’s a decent rally game and a nice throwback — just don’t come in expecting modern speed outside the track.

Пройдемся по сильным сторонам этого хоррора для городских престарелых водителей Рено логан:
+Приятная графика, игре 12 лет, а это значит что цветовая гамма аля Flatout 2 не будет выдавливать земки
+Набор авто радует, это не ралли 90ых но автопарк выглядит очень неплохо
+Большое количество приятных карт, на регион их около 4-5 штук, тут и Финляндия, Германия, Мексика, Xyeксика и прочие
+Отзывчивое управление, которое придется перенастроить под WASD
+Длина полового члена кратно увеличится после каждого пройденного ралли этапа
+Игра от WRC, а значит лицензионные авто в игре, причем с нормальной разрушаемостью кузова

Проблемы
-Мёртвый мультиплеер
-Я, лично не смог даже зарегаться в RakNet, что требуется для сохранения результатов
-Кастомизации авто примерно нету, можно только сделать номер экипажа кастомным, имена членов экипажа и прочее по мелочи
