It's still, to this day, a freaking fantastic casual and fun little game. You can enjoy it solo vs. the AI, or with a buddy even sharing the same keyboard. There's also a puzzle mode with tons of challenges, plus some variety in the versus modes. It might require some minor troubleshooting, since apparently some puzzle levels crash the game.

Overall, it's a small game totally worth the price, it might be outdated by modern standards, but is really fun to play in short bursts.

Like I say, this game was my childhood and when I saw that it was on steam I really was excited to play it again, but unfortunately it just does not work and I'm really upset by that. Would absolutely play this if the crashes were fixed but doubt that they will be, so for now I'll have to say (unless you have nostalgia like me and don't mind playing the minigames) that this is just a not recommend for now.

При благоприятных условиях и долей везения в Worms Blast можно проходить уровень за уровнем и завершить игру за 2–4 часа. Однако можно, как я, провести в игре примерно 14 часов, проходя всю карту и застревая на некоторых уровнях надолго.

Помимо сложных уровней, созданных лишь для проверки на прочность нервов и клавиатуры, прохождение затрудняли и технические проблемы. Вот некоторые из них, с которыми я столкнулся:

[b] • Вылеты. [/b] Они случались редко, за всё прохождение я поймал 2 или 3 краша, но это было неприятно. Если ты уже прошёл первый этап уровня, то после перезапуска игры приходится начинать его заново.
[b] • Высокий FPS? [/b] На некоторых уровнях все происходило слишком быстро: скрипты срабатывали чаще, препятствия и падающие блоки двигались быстрее, из-за чего некоторые уровни становились излишне сложными. Я сравнил работу игры у себя и у других игроков на YouTube, у них всё выглядело куда плавнее и комфортнее. После ограничения FPS до 30, уровни стало проходить легче, а скрипты перестали «сходить с ума».
[b] • Нет динамиков? Уровень не запустится. [/b] У меня компьютер без колонок, а наушники я подключаю не всегда. Я заметил, что если запускать игру без устройств вывода звука (колонок или наушников), то игра запускается и дает возможность выбрать уровень на карте, но его загрузка никогда не заканчивается и все весит на черном загрузочном экране. Перезапуск игры или компьютера не помогал, проблему удавалось решить только после подключения наушников, уровни стали корректно запускаться.

Если рассматривать игру на двоих, для совместной игры, то она довольно интересная и неплохая. Однако в одиночной кампании, несмотря на хорошие уровни с интересными испытаниями, большую часть игры составляет хардкор. Некоторые сложные уровни мне понравились, но из-за высокой сложности заданий и особенностей геймплея даже интересные уровни превращались в затянутые испытания, на которые я тратил слишком много времени.

Worms Blast is not the typical Team 17 Worms game, this is a purely puzzle game in which generally what you have to do is shoot the color that you want to clear and to do so you simply have to match them. The best thing about the game for me, without a doubt, is the multiplayer mode. It is a game that can be played alone perfectly, it has a campaign with more than 20 different stages to go through, and the cool thing is that each one is a different challenge, even though the base mechanics are the same (shooting and movement). It has 10 different competition modes and you can play alone, against the AI or against another player. It has characters and other play modes to unlock, although the best in my opinion is already unlocked, which is the deathmatch. It is a game of quick matches where you cannot stop if you want to win. The level of difficulty will largely depend on how good your rival is. It is a simple game, but you can get a lot out of it if you want to have fun competing with your friends. Several of the bad opinions due to a crashing problem in the story mode, but it is very easily solved by modifying a file in the game folder (see guide).

Worms Blast no es el típico juego de Worms de Team 17, este es un juego puramente puzle en el que por lo general lo que habrá que hacer es disparar al color que queremos eliminar y para ello simplemente hay que hacerlos coincidir. Lo mejor del juego para mí, sin duda, es el modo multijugador. Es un juego que puede jugarse solo perfectamente, tiene su campaña con más de 20 pantallas distintas para pasarse, y lo guay es que cada una es una prueba distinta, pese a que la mecánica base sea la misma (disparo y movimiento). Tiene 10 modos distintos de competición y puedes jugar solo, contra la IA o contra otro jugador. Tiene personajes y modos de juego para desbloquear, aunque lo mejor para mí ya viene desbloqueado, que es el combate a muerte. Es un juego de partidas rápidas y en el que no puedes detenerte si quieres ganar. El nivel de dificultad lo pondrá en gran medida lo bueno que sea tu rival. Es un juego sencillo, pero al que se le puede sacar mucho partido si quieres divertirte compitiendo con tus amigos. Varias de las malas opiniones que tiene se debe a un problema de “crasheo” en el modo historia, pero que se soluciona muy fácilmente modificando un archivo en la carpeta del juego (ver guía).

Worms Blast is another fun spinoff from the iconic Worms series, taking a puzzle-based direction. In this bubble shooter, you control a worm (or other character) in a boat, firing at colored bubbles or blocks in a grid. The goal is to match colors or clear obstacles before they reach you or the timer is up. Various weapons like bazookas and grenades have different effects, adding a touch of strategy to the mix. The tutorial is thorough, but a few levels left me confused at first. Despite its dated design and clunky controls, it’s still a decent game. I wouldn’t pay €8 for it on its own, but as part of the discounted Worms collection, it’s worth a try (if you like this type of game).

Despite being a little dated, this is an extremely unique and clever game. The mechanics are quite opaque, but once you figure them out it becomes very strategic (especially in multiplayer).

In particular:
- The central barrier periodically opens, allowing you to shoot your opponent.
- If you shoot your opponent's blocks with the "wrong" colour, they will turn grey.
- If you shoot your opponent's blocks with the right colour you can make them fall.
- You can blow up your opponent's stars and weapon crates.
- If you shoot a missile off the edge of the screen, an object will fall on your head.
- If you shoot into your own water, the water level will raise (stars lower this).
- If you collect enough falling fruit in one go, you unlock a BLAST letter; collecting all BLAST letters unlocks BLAST mode where you can collect lots of weapons.

There are a few different game modes but most of them are not very fun. Deathmatch is definitely the best.

Unfortunately a few of the weapons are very unbalanced, such as the Piranha and Lightning Storm weapons which are basically a free kill.

There are a few different characters but as far as I can tell they are purely cosmetic.

一个老游戏搬上steam真牛魔就原模原样照搬上来了，过完新手教程没几关就crash，排查了半天原因结合评论区的英文老哥的评论，初步判定是因为出新手教程关后往上走那关躲避蛇关卡存在通关后会游戏崩溃的bug。而且驷了马的是这个崩溃是会一直影响后续游玩的，重启后再打开哪一关都会立刻崩溃，一个德拉米的半成品也拿来卖？我刚打不到一两关就给我出这种恶性bug，我玩你牛魔酬宾，这逼玩意还能舔着碧莲卖31？你要么不上架要么上架一个重置版的，哪怕原版的你把bug修了也行，原封不动的传上来顶着个b价位，我的评价是Team 17拿着挣来的钱给你们劝架除冰去吧

"Worms Blast"...oder "Worms Kotz!" wie ich es lieber nennen würde. Es ist... eine absolute Frechheit!
Technisch sehr Mau. Die Grafikauflösung ist komplett veraltet, keine Möglichkeit einen Fenstermodus auszuwählen oder per Windows-Taste aus dem Spiel zu kommen. Die Musik ist auch eher Zweckdienlich. Was aber mit am schlimmsten ist, ist die äußerst träge, schwammige, unpräzise und krampfige Steuerung, ein wahrer Graus!

"Worms Blast" ist einer dieser Spiele in denen man vom unteren Bildschirmrand geschossen nach oben schießen muss und mit diesen farbige Steine in möglichst großen Kettenreaktionen aufzulösen. Ein simples, aber dennoch spaßiges Spielprinzip...doch "Worms Blast" kriegt das aufgrund des technisch bescheiden Zustands nicht auf die Kette.

Ich meine, im Puzzle/Story-Modus kann man das Tutorial spielen...gut, dann das nächste Level...okay, dann kommt das 2. Level...und das Spiel stürzt dann einfach jedes mal ab! Einfach so. Schlägt man die andere Richtung ein, muss man einer "Schlange" ausweichen, das ist Aufgrund der Steuerung aber kaum machbar und macht genauso viel Spaß wie sich Zähne beim Zahnarzt ziehen zu lassen.

Nun denn, eigentlich hatte ich mir ja vorgenommen jedes Spiel eine Chance zu geben und mich mindestens 2 Spielstunden damit auseinander zu setzen...doch wenn Mir so ein digitaler Müll vorgesetzt wird, dann sehe ich es nicht meine Lebenszeit damit zu verschwenden!

Game crashes on multiple levels and resets your progress, making it impossible to play the game. Too bad since the game actually seemed quite fun. I don't think the devs will fix it any time soon so avoid getting this game at all costs.

Er... Mediocre. This is a puzzle/arcade/bubble-shooter thing. The graphics are old. The music is OK. No story.

No bugs or crashes. Runs fine on win 7.

Now, the game is kinda frustrating. Old controls and mechanics. No mouse to aim. The challenges are varied but not fun to play. The game is casual but the design makes it unnecessarily hard to play. I think this is a mixed bag at best, but the masses can sleep calmly at night with this game missing from their collections.

Przeciętny Spin-Off próba zarobieniu na popularnym wtedy Bust A Move. Gra wydaje się taka od niechcenia zrobiona, a także, aby dobrze się grało trzeba specjalnie szukać na PCGamingWiki fixów. Bo oczywiście gra nie jest dostosowana do komputerów powyżej XP. Zakup jedynie jak jesteście wielkimi fanami robali.

Stürzte in 30 Minuten Spielzeit 5x ab, das "Tutorial" ging dagegen noch einwandfrei, auch die neuen Bindings wurden überwiegend gut erkannt. Reaktionszeit wirkt auf ein Puzzler, wo man z.T. sehr schnell Eingaben tätigen muss, recht unintuitiv. Leider nix für mich, dabei war es das erste Worms, das wenigstens den Anschein von "Spielbarkeit" hatte (Teil 1 und 2) haben es genau 7 und 14 Minuten durchgehalten.) Als Puzzler für Kinder macht das Spiel gar keinen schlechten Eindruck, aber um mich an der Stange zu halten sollte es technisch wenigstens funktionieren, dafür gibt es einfach zu viele Alternativen da draußen...

El juego se cierra solo despues de hacer la segunda misión. Recuerdo que esto mismo pasaba en la version antigua y creo que la solución era entrar por el otro camino, hacer el resto de las misiones hasta llegar a ESA misión pero esta vez entrando por el lado contrario, pero que más da, es un juego de hace 15 años y aún tiene el mismo glitch, que desastre, mejor pedir un reembolso

Táto hra je iba cashgrab. Obyčajný bubble shooter parazitujúci známu značku. Ak ste veľký fanúšik tohto žánru tak si to možno užijete ale s Worms to okrem postavy červa a ovečky nemá nič spoločné.

Very fun game to play with a friend of gf. 2 Player Multiplayer is what makes this game good, the "story" which only consists of puzzles isnt great. It flips Puzzle Bobble into a Puzzle Bobble with Fights and Items, like the Mario Kart of Puzzle Bubble. Lots of fun for me.
Since its an old game and a old Port it doesnt support a high resolution. So no 1080p. I supports controller tho. You cant aim with the mouse, need to press up and down to am higher/lower

Worms Blast (2002)

Right so this game is weird... like its a game without Worms but it has enough stuff in it to fool you into thinking it looks and somewhat acts like a Worms game. You sit in a boat and shoot some blocks above your head and you can move your boat side to side. You start with the iconic Worms Bazooka gun to shoot the blocks with. If you hit a block that is either the same colour as the bazooka, or is a rainbow block, that block and any other same-coloured or rainbow blocks connected to it will be destroyed. Any blocks that are not the same colour will not be affected; however, if the only thing holding those blocks up was the coloured blocks that were just destroyed, those blocks will fall into the water. So you shoot blocks for score. That's pretty much the game. There are a few different characters to choose from and some you need to unlock. Each of their boats float differently, some fast, some turn easier for example. There are a few game modes to choose from and you can play against friends in multiplayer. Its pretty much just a game with the brand "Worms" slapped on it since you don't actually blow up worms. It's fine for a few hours but its not as fun as classic Worms.

While not all of the gameplay is captivating, I honestly enjoyed the battle mode as much as I enjoy multiplayer "Bust-A-Move," and that is a high compliment indeed. Has its fun and addicting moments, although it is hampered by uneven level design, loose control, and a confusing menu scheme. I found myself really disappointed by this unwelcome shift away from the giddy worm-versus-worm combat of earlier games.

Verdikt: Bojové červy sa tentokrát snažia priblížiť aj mladšiemu publiku a preto autori titulu Worms Blast ubrali na násilí. Streľba sa zameriava predovšetkým na demoláciu rôznych hexagonov, bedničok a terčov. Prípadne naopak ich vyhýbaniu sa. Hra je rozdelená do troch častí s rôzne zameranými úrovňami. Puzzle predstavuje adventúru, kde úlohou hráča je záchrana sveta. Tournament je možnosť voľby rôznych úrovní s úlohami, no najzábavnejšou časťou je VS mode, konkrétne Deathmatch. Ten tentokrát predstavuje kombináciu starých Worms a tetrisu, za asistencie rôznych živlov. Hráč alebo hráči si môžu zvoliť z celkovo 9 postáv s rôznymi vlastnosťami. Niektoré z nich je potrebné si sprístupniť pri záchrane sveta v rámci advetúry. V priebehu jej hrania možno naraziť na extrémne náročné úrovne, ktoré môžu znechutiť hranie. Hra sa postupne dostáva do stereotypu a jedinou záchranou je Deathmach alebo v prípade starších hráčov návrat k predošlým dielom série.
