Storyline

Back in 1980s and 1990s, The Bear Federation experienced rapid economic and cultural growth, while the United States of Eagle became deeply embroiled in warfare. Dissatisfied with the USE Gov't, several southern states declared independence, forming the New Kaliformia Republic. Following USE's dissolution, more former USE states sticked together in the path of independence and the Lone Star Republic was finally established. Wild Assault's story unfolds in this fragmented and war-torn land.

Игра неплохая битвы динамичные, мясистые. По сути Бталфронт ток по Китайски или кто они там.
Вот че надо ещё сделать так это добавить разные способности на заменту текущим для вариации и гранаты что-ли, ну или типо слота где можно взять аптечку или гранату. А то на способностях далеко не убежишь.
Касаемо карт, в той же кс карты основного пула не меняются 10-ти летиями я уже на de_dust 2 как дома.
Режимов не много, но надо ли больше? Если брать тот учёт что и так все норм.
Вот че огорчило так это тюнинг оружия, он тут много чего, но почти все одинаковое... Прицелы и прочее у каждого оружия одинаковое, хотя на тот же АК есть свой прицел а не то что в этой игре предлагают.
Оптимизацию надо делать дальше. И хотелось чтоб физика персонажа тоже в матче работала, а то какой смысл в ней в главном меню.
ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО фиксануть мину липучку Волка ибо она убивает чере стену это бред так не пойдёт. И пальцы персонажей, а то как лапша какая-то.

Its not inherantly a bad game, but the dev's need to fix bunny hopping. Absolutely shred accuracy if you jump and for a second afterwards. You shouldn't be able to jump to avoid getting a headshot while having pinpoint accuracy. Fix your ♥♥♥♥!

Sadly we have to recommend against this game, the Devs do you GenAI, either for voice work, backgrounds, promotional materials. They use it, dont admit it, and have yet to apologize for the last of many times they have used it. Its not on the steam page either but AI generated content HAS made it into the game. They do not acknowledge it and do everything they can to sweep it under the rug every time they are caught like a child who broke a vase. Sense the last time they got caught they have been spamming their discord at least once a day with some version of "real artists support" and frantic community rewards... Until they apologize for it publicly and not some hidden away p.s note and a pledge to never use it again we will recommend against this game.

Its depressing really, had really high hopes for this game, played it QUITE a bit, every morning before and after work even started building a smol community around it on youtube sadly the Devs decided to ruin it. Its so depressing that a Dev team we've been dissing for the last 7 years are becoming the good guys...which is just wild...Anyway if the devs wake up, apologize, and use real humans and real artists to do their work we may change the review to recommend...however, its not a one time thing. as our review and lack of playing Hell Divers 2 shows, if the dev team stays the same we will stay away and tell others as well

Wild Assault has a solid concept and a distinct appeal but it falls painfully short in execution. This game was already going to be niche because it is a furry shooter which immediately limits its appeal compared to mainstream shooters. But niche games can still thrive if they are actually fun and well-designed. Wild Assault is neither. Instead, it doubles down on terrible balancing, awful matchmaking, and game modes that are more irritating than enjoyable.

Raid and Conquest are the only game modes that matter and Raid in particular is one of the most boring, lopsided experiences in the game. Attackers lose lives to bots, Defense gets faster respawns, Defense spawns closer to the objective and the whole mode turns into low-effort spawn camping. It does not feel competitive. It does not feel strategic. It feels lazy.

The balancing is abysmal. Weapons and Valiants stay obnoxious for way too long and the pace of change is so slow and questionable. It should not take multiple seasons to recognize when a weapon, Valiant or game mechanic is clearly unhealthy for the game. There is no excuse for a game to be four seasons deep and still feel this clueless when it comes to basic game balance.

Matchmaking is another huge reason this game bleeds players. Throwing new players against veterans so they can “learn” by getting stomped is one of the dumbest matchmaking philosophies imaginable. That is not onboarding. That is how you make sure new players uninstall before they have a reason to care no matter how many new characters, maps or guns get added.

Four seasons should have been enough time for the developers to show that they understand their own game and have a real plan to improve it. Instead, they have only proven that they are either unwilling or unable to fix its core issues. As a result, Wild Assault is not improving in the ways that actually matter and each season bleeding players reflects that. New characters, maps and guns mean nothing when the core experience is unenjoyable.

I do not have faith in the game’s future. It either gets dragged into obscurity as a tiny niche title or it dies outright. Based on how these developers have handled it so far, the latter seems more likely.

très bon héro shooter, chaque personnage à un game play très différent, l'aspect anthropomorphique des Vaillant en plus d'être jolie à l'oeil (et bien animé) porte un impact sur le gameplays, car les aptitude des Vaillant à un lien avec leur physique et espèces. Les différente arme avec les accessoires personnalisables permettant de faires ses armes comme on l'entend aussi bien visuellement que sur leur maniabilité, dégâts et autre impact dans le jeu est très sympa et permet de se crée son propre arsenal. on y trouve vite son compte et vous trouverais vite vos perso favoris pour ma part Akaihime, Jack, Anthéa, Marquez et Hong Ying dans mon top 5 pour l'instant.

The only downside is the terrible(i mean SUCK) team system. No matter how many rounds I play, the number of players is never equal.
One side will always have fewer players, whether it's 1v3, 2v4, 3v6, or 7v10. It's awful.
Winning even one round is incredibly difficult.

Avoid the game in this current state.

Cheaters are running rampant making the game unplayable. They are in fact cheating and using exploits so blatantly that the community is keeping track with an entire list of names of constant offenders. They're even sometimes teaming up.

Cheaters and exploiters aren't punished in any way, and even if somehow they get banned they are unbanned very quickly. Devs even seem to be good friends with a couple of them.

Dev team recently started using AI art instead of making art themselves.

Development is slow, updates are rare and don't introduce that much.

Balancing is all over the place with some very strong characters never/barely getting changed while weaker ones are getting nerfed to the point of being unusable.

Bots despite being a large portion of the game still don't work well, they often get stuck, can't use their abilities properly or at all and only one of them is able to use their ultimate.

I want to like this game, shooting is good and fun but devs don't seem to care about fixing these huge issues.

After reaching the highest level in the game, I feel like my review has at least earned the right to observe (complain) professionally.

Firstly, the shooting feels fantastic. Landing a headshot on a moving target is a quick-pass to an org*sm. That said, it can be overwhelming to play sniper and having to quick-shot endless hordes of the enemy team, as sometimes the bot battalions hyperfocus on the control point. Other times they scatter across the map like unsupervised kids at a zoo. Tho it ends up often times more entertaining than not.
The furry heroes (or “Valiants,” as the game insists on calling them like it’s trying to win a Chinese literature award) are easy to be good at but hard to master, which is exactly where a good hero shooter should live. Their silhouettes are clear and distinct, so even mid-chaos or from a distance, you can quickly tell whether you’re about to fight a tank, a support, or something that’s about to ruin your afternoon (Norman). Their abilities, ultimates, powers—whatever corporate-approved name they’re going with this week—blend together nicely and uniquely, and make each character feel genuinely fun to play.
The community has also been surprisingly great. I’ve met a ton of people who are friendly, funny, and just generally pleasant to play with. I usually play on Europe and Asia servers (with the necessary ping sacrifice demanded by my catastrophic sleep schedule), so the relative absence of the average eagle-screeching patriot might explain why about 9 out of 10 people I meet are actually great.
Now it is unifinished, it is taking leaps, and the devs are from a completely alien-culture that shows with their latest use of AI that other doesn't go well with none-completely westernized cultures. That doesn’t really excuse the mistake, but it’s the kind of thing that probably made perfect sense inside a corporate meeting room… right up until the internet noticed. Still wish it wouldn't destroy this quite fun game.

Matchmaking is atrocious. Got put in a team of 20 with nothing but bots on a WA raid where the next highest amount of kills after me was 5. Meanwhile, the other team had at least 3 real people getting around 20 kills each. If you're going to put people in a situation like that, the best you can do to compensate is make the bots aim better in a disadvantaged team. Even on sale, it sucks that I had to pay money for this. I've played free multiplayer FPS games with better balancing in matchmaking.

Sadly I can't recommend it right now, its impossible to find games despite this game being quite fun. The developers need to make some big decisions regarding this games future, because as it stands, I am unable to even find enough people to start a game, let alone have anything close to a full experience.

This game is dead not because it was bad but I think it was misled, making it a pay to play live service for a very niche game like this was questionable at best.

aw well, it was fun while it lasted, I'll stay tuned to see if they make any changes to try and revive this.

There were many bridges burned and hope that I lost in this game, and I don’t even think you need to play five minutes to figure out what this community is really about. I should have really seen it based on the promotional material and format of the game for what the true intentions of Combat Cat were when developing this game, and it wasn’t purely just for furry bait, but it was to exploit it for publicity. There has been barely any sufficient quality assurance for the game, which is why it’s been stuck in alpha since the start and it’s promises for a full game release are just a namesake to keep people engaged. Also it just bluntly rips off what we’ve seen out of other dos such as BF6, Overwatch (I guess, it’s not like that game is much better), and the sort of animation and game design of prominent Chinese FPS titles such as PUBG and Delta Force (which it should be specified that I’m also not attacking the Chinese gaming culture, as it obviously differs from what we are accustomed to in Western Culture and Combat Cat are still entitled to utilise the Chinese gaming culture to promote their game closer to home, but it shows a lack of originality amongst the crowd in terms of its gameplay).

There are plenty of better reviews on this page that go better in depth into this game, and I’m honestly just a furry loser on the internet, and I don’t really have any substantial pastimes or passions that keep me going. But I’m honestly glad I left this community to pursue better friendships, even if constant drama and the skeletons that live in your closet follow you wherever you go. The people who I called my friends and reassured me they were my friends were for the most part there to promote themselves and their performative personalities whilst those who were passionate for the game were the most blunt and toxic people you’ll come across.

Honestly, put my profile on a corkboard and stick a knife in it, circle ‘Drama Queen’ around it and write ‘DNI List’ on a sticky note on top of it, but the damage has already been done. The community is a mess, the game is even messier as far as I’m concerned, and it seems the only audience for this game are those who are there for the long ride, which all I can say to is ‘good luck’, but honestly this game makes me lose hope in the furry community if we’re going to be making furry content slop for views on social media and microtransactions for a quick buck.

I have been playing this game since much before the release, during the ebta tests, and I have been loving it from the start. I've been playing every single day and really enjoyed it. It all seemed amazing despite the issues present in this game.

Now, all my love for this game is starting to fade away as I witness the developpers use AI generated content for their posts, without even notifying us on their Steam page like they at least should.

As of now, I cannot recommend this game to anyone. Having spent a lot of money on it, I feel betrayed after they made such a decision that honestly benefits no one at all.

I will leave this negative review to warn people of this very scammy tactic they've employed until they change their mind and publicly come out about this situation. I will no longer support this game with my money.

I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone buy or support this game. The Developers have dived face-first back into their Generative AI Slop machine, promoting the game and having assets congealed together by the destructive force that is modern "AI" regurgitation.

We all gave the devs a lot of leeway and grace with the game, as they stayed true to their words on replacing the AI voices with real Voice Actors, only for them to slip back into their old ways. Until the team swears off GenAI and earns that trust back by their ACTIONS, this game is permanently NOT RECOMMENDED.

И считай только недавно смог наконец её поиграть
Плюсы
-Довольно динамичная
-Фурри персонажи интересно используются, интересно обыгрываются способности (да, есть и фансервисные моменты, но кому на это не пофиг, когда это органично вписано?)
-Персонажи и геймплей за них в целом разнообразны, но это можно менять под себя, меняя им оружие
-В целом, сам стиль игры - динамика, механики захвата точек и прочее. Нужно уметь в тактичность и командную игру, иначе можно легко проиграть
-Карты относительно легко запоминаются
-С друзьями весело играть в отряде
-Можно поиграть с ботами, если нет настроения играть с людьми или если нужно попрактиковаться.
-ВНЕЗАПНО боевые пропуски, которые дают персонажей и оружие. Да, можно и задонатить, и взять ещё и скин на персонажа, но это необязательно.
Минусы
-Баланс порой ломается - на сервер к 10-15 уровневым игрокам порой кидают каких-то про. (но в целом можно даже так найти контру или как-то избегать их и победить)
-Немного разные по стилю модельки (но это субъективщина)
-Русский перевод кривоват.
-Цена немного огрызается (учитывая что бета тест был бесплатным)
Чтож, минусов как мы видим много. НО, но... как по мне плюсы перевешивают минусы - в игру весело играть. А остальное разрабы наверняка подтянут со временем. Ну или фанаты возьмут всё в свои руки, как сейчас с CS Online 2 (она же Nexon 2) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Как-то так.

PS. Те, кто хейтят этот проект только потому, что тут фурри, и те, кто хейтят этот проект, потому что, О БОЖЕ! - В ИГРЕ ИСПОЛЬЗОВАЛИ ИИ! - просто куча обиженных пусечек. Пойдите потрогайте траву, и потом идите играйте в колду или во что-то ещё, а сюда больше не возвращайтесь. Кому не пофигу на то, как делалась игра, если в конечный результат приятно играть? Адекватным же людям с нормальной критикой всегда рады, они делают игру лучше, грамотно указывая на недочёты и моменты, которые лучше переработать.

[*]Use of AI without clearly disclosing it on the Steam page. This is especially baffling when they’re also asking the community to design skins they can implement and profit from.
[*]No real campaign or true single-player mode. You can play solo against bots with custom settings, which is nice in theory, but the AI is brain-dead and just follows set paths. It feels more like shooting zombies than fighting competent AI opponents.
[*]Some animations look amateurish and clunky. It might be expected at this price point, but you’re still paying for it as cosmetic.
[*]General jank and lack of polish in the presentation: fingers clipping through guns, awkward English voice lines, weapon skins not properly applying to attachments, hands are too big (I'm pretty sure it's not an artistic choice) etc. You could argue it’s fine for the price, but then again, you can get games like Hollow Knight for $15 which is infinitely polished, sure it's a third person shooter (running on unreal btw) but they are also 20 peoples working on it. It's a minor grip but it prevent it from feeling like a "real" game and more like a tech demo sometimes. There is a "lore" in this game too (lol).

[*] "3" game mode but really you are only playing 1 or 2 of them which feels the same while playing. Map are forgetable in design and questionable in balance (very few of them too)

Personally :

I played quite a lot because the game is fun, and I even spent some money on skins to support it. However, after learning they’re using AI without clearly explaining how I’ve decided to stop spending money on it. Since they’re not transparent about what’s AI-generated, I have to assume a lot (or all) of the assets could be. I’m not willing to pay premium prices for AI-generated content, especially without disclosure.

I’m also not confident about the game’s future. I don’t think the player base has grown since I bought it, if anything, it feels like it’s gone down, or at least not increased enough to notice. I doubt the devs will abandon the game (as long as the skins keep selling), but adding more skins and characters alone won’t make the game stand out when it leaves Early Access.
In my opinion, it needs actual content: more (and better) maps, guns that feel distinct, a proper single-player mode (even if short), and additional game modes, not just cosmetics.

Got this as a gift, and had a bit of fun with it. Only to learn today that the developers used AI art in their game, and have an [alleged] history of pulling sketchy shenanigans. I already asked the person who had gifted me the game to refund it, as i will no longer be supporting this game.

PS: For the actual game review. It's horribly balanced, there's weapons that are blatantly better than the rest, and characters in the game have the same issue. The developers seemingly have zero interest in fixing the balance issues in their game, as they've supposedly been around for ages now according to a friend of mine. As much as i wanted this game to preform well, as it was a fun concept and had a small and somewhat friendly community. I cannot in good faith recommend a game that uses AI art and devs that blatantly do not care about the state of their game.

A tragic fumble from the people at Combat Cat.

I gave this game a shot, played it pretty consistently from season 1 onward. The devs repeatedly make questionable decisions and struggle to release any meaningful content, all while over-promising to build hype. Season 2 saw a boom of players, and the devs responded by downsizing their team and server capacity. Their map design is abysmal, with half of the maps in the game being reviled by players for how wildly imbalanced they are. In addition, the devs constantly chime back with "we're listening, we're gathering data" etc, yet every patch they have put out has been utterly tone deaf to the complaints of the player base.

To top it all off, they have been using generative AI since the game was in alpha, and have been using it more and more as the game developed. Most recently, their "Community Manager" even posted the most obviously, undeniably AI image across their social media and in their community discord (which violates that discords own rules at that)

The one piece of content they have consistently put out quickly is, you guessed it, paid cosmetics all of which are highly sexualized and for the female characters nearly exclusively. The devs seem to be trying to cash in on furry bait before checking out entirely. Absolutely do not recommend unless there are substantial changes, and they absolutely need to add the AI disclosure to this steam page.

It's a fun game, at least it can be when you're not tossed into what boils down to a 1 v 4 of players.
The match making is busted and will happily stack two squads on the same team as it seems like it treats squads as one solo person. I have uninstalled it until either the next season comes out, or they fix the match making.

I guess considering how much I played this game, I should get around to writing a review.
Honestly, I love the game, which is why I'm not recommending it.
Going into Season 2 was kind of a wreck for the game.
Season 3 has been what I would consider a total disaster.

The devs have constantly made promises that they've failed on numerous times. Pushing desperately requested changes back over and over, or just half-assing a repair, which often did more harm then good to the overall game play. They've made promises that they can't keep up with and it's pretty obvious from the most recent behavior that they're just cashing in at this point and making little to no effort to actually keep the game alive.
Some examples:
1. Latest character has serious model issues with it's proportions with it's weird spindly fingers and it's failure to come close to the body type of the species it was supposed to be (the game files even say it was supposed to be a different species altogether).
2. They've continued to use the same maps for two different game modes, which cause serious balance issues in the game play modes and announced that they'd be taking an existing map that obviously won't work in a game play mode and "adding it as a new map".
3. Map design is bad, in general. Request for changes to improve gameplay in the maps have fallen on deaf ears or have triggered useless changes that do not resolve the overall problem. Seriously, I know that it's a niche game that's having a hard time making money, but you need an experienced map designer.
4. New media for the game often looks like it was done in 30 minutes, using freeware recording software.
5. Obvious use of AI in menu art.
6. Reliance on the community to provide new skin ideas (weapon and valiants) basically for free. While not utilzing the community to provide other ideas that would improve gameplay. Like player made map designs in private rooms or community polled map layouts.

(I know by now you're seeing a trend, but seriously, when you have two game modes that are played in completely different formats, but you use the exact same maps without making at least some reasonable edits for the gameplay type, you've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Add to serious balance issues in the map design and it's just a painful experience after a while.)

Edit: While I was writing this, CombatCat posted to their Discord an obvious AI picture where one of the characters blatantly has three arms. Very very sad.

im not really into third person shooters, let alone hero shooters, but from my (albeit small amount of) playtime ive enjoyed this quite a bit. also the fomo is pretty minor, you can go back to any battlepass and finish them off in any order, which is very nice to see. this game is well worth it imo, even runs fairly well for a UE5 game (my specs; 3700X, 2x16gb, 3050 6gb. i get a pretty stable 60fps with very brief occasional hitching). its a shame there isnt a larger player base for the game, so often lobbies are padded out with bots, but still a good time.

The game is pretty simple to get the idea of. It's got big maps, but not many maps, it does seasons very well, and the gameplay is fun. The valiants play differently to each other, even the ones using similar or the same class of weapons, and the weapon variety is good too, feeling out which gun suits your playstyle best. Skins for your weapons are relatively easy to get, given most of them are on season tracks, and as mentioned, the seasons are done very well. You have access to all of them at all times and can pick between them, getting a lot of stuff on the 'free' tracks, and completing a track gives you a solid portion of what you spent to get it 'unlocked' to get the extra stuff as well as the free stuff, which is a reward in and of itself. The in game currency isn't badly priced either, which surprised me. Normally, I have to sell a kidney to get in game currency, but it's not bad in this case if you do want to spend some cash.

There's a couple of things I'd like addressed, including more Valiants (which they're doing anyway), the balancing for the matchmaking is interesting, and I have occasionally been at the mercy of a full team of 4 legendary lvl 60 players on their mains with kitted out gear, but that should be easier to get around on the basis of hopefully more players and less bots. This is, of course, assuming we get more players in time. Which, knowing the furry community, shouldn't take too long once this game is better known.

Also, hackers. Now, I haven't come across many of them, which is good. But when you do, one of them can ruin an entire round. Aimbot is the worst for it, and it is blatant when it happens. They are working on this and you can report them of course, but only after the game ends. Hopefully Easy Anti-cheat can do its job a little better as time goes on. One in every fifteen to twenty matches in Early Access though isn't a bad record for a game like this.

I also solidly recommend to Combat Cat Studio that if you're going to go with a theme for skins once you have the time to work on cosmetics, stick with it! It is awesome to see you starting it with the swimsuit skins, and people will buy skins showing off the builds of the guys as much as the gals, trust me. Don't fear the bear bods devs, lean into it XD (All that being said, making specialised legendary skins for the Valiants is also awesome, and I love the Christmas theme skin for Hongying, and would desperately request a Santa skin for Vladimir. You could call it his Santa Klaus skin! Beard included naturally :P)

All in all, I think this is a damn solid game, with a HEAP of potential, and I will be thoroughly enjoying myself blasting down my firing zone with a gigantic LMG that would usually be hardmounted to a truck, and laughing as I get killed by a papercut from an invisible fox assassin. If you're a fan of Battlefield, or any hero shooter and a Furry, closeted or not, I recommend this game to you. If you just want a Battlefield style shooter and you're sick of AAA games and their AAA prices and AAA hangups, I recommend this game. Overall, I just recommend this game.

Its... Meh. the biggest problem with this game is they tried to turn a hero shooter into a Battle field clone. The maps are big, the teams are big, but the mechanics are vary hero shooter like. There is almost no choke points if any at all, so tanks really cant hold down anything. Snipers are for mingers who only want a high KD, cause there are so many players on the map, that even if you hit every shot you could never kill enough to beat how fast they spawn. Because of this its a vary Attacker friendly game. The size of the map makes it impossable for aults to change the tide of battle cause like.. you can just move a few feet left and still have room to avoid anything up behind them.

This game needs smaller maps, smaller teams, and a little more polish, but its all to big for the style of game that is trying to be made here
