The endgame is too grindy. Replaying missions or challenges doesn't feel worth as the rewards are minuscule.
This game can be super janky at times; you might fly too fast and get stuck inside another ship, you might get trapped in an unwinnable sword-clash loop, or you might bounce off the game entirely when you play the first mission which for some reason feels faster than human eyes can follow. Allied mechs have a weird tendancy to stay in the center of your camera view, so they're constantly in the way when you want to shoot. The English language version has several errors and oddities, likely a rough translation job by the tiny team.
But if you can accept those issues, this is an amazing experience. You just have to give yourself time to adjust. The game speed feels too fast at first, but then you start getting used to it, adjusting the control sensitivity to human levels and setting buttons to something easier.
After a short prologue fight in someone's plot armor mech, there's a rough transition to the main story and you're given the option of three starting mechs. This choice matters a lot! Whether you choose the slow, tough mech or the fast one or go balanced, that's your core and every part you buy afterwards will modify that. The only way to try another core is to start a new save!
Then you're thrown into a mecha-enthusiast dream / gear-shopping nightmare with your own ship base and upgrade spreadsheets and tech research and experience levels and text boxes explaining each new thing. Take it slow, don't be intimidated, the fun is about to begin.
In the Simulator room, there's a few tutorial maps which teach the basics, and you'll be able to replay mission levels here to find research you missed or get extra experience or test your newest mech, plus there are Challenges which you can grind for cash. A tough Survival mode will be your biggest money maker when you've got a better mech, but remember to only reach the target level and then lose because there seems to be a max reward amount you can get each time.
Once you've adjusted the control settings to your liking and played for a few hours, the game comes together as a simple yet satisfying space mecha pilot fantasy. Some missions are rough but they do get better with time and the difference in power between the starter and an upgraded mech is scary fun. There's also a nice variety of mission types: escorting a supply ship along a path, gathering materials while hiding from the nearby sun behind asteroids, sneaking into a base by flying close to a larger ship, laser puzzles, deactivating doomsday weapons, and several boss battles.
The story isn't anything deep or fancy. You are the talented captain of an ace mecha team and your job is to protect the fleet which travels around gathering resources in space. There's a fleet commander who issues orders, support staff who figure things out for you, and your team which sometimes join you in missions. An evil empire is at war with the universe, and you want to defeat them. A couple characters die in over-dramatic scenes of deep anguish, but the war must be won. The sci-fi setting has some neat elements but remains in the background.
Combat on the other hand is great. This is one of the better space flight games I've played recently for battles against large and complex targets, like bases covered in turrets or huge warships. The jetpack-style maneuverability isn't exactly realistic to space, but allows you to smoothly zip around shooting highlighted weak points. As a comparison, Strike Suit Zero attempted this and looked fantastic, but felt bad combining two styles of flight where one wanted to crash into the target while the other was awkward at moving and had a time limit.
Against smaller targets, you become this terrifying deity chewing through health bars in seconds. When most small ships are below half health, you can perform cinematic finishing moves which also heal you quite a lot; you'll want to use the light weapons so they don't explode from one shot, and this becomes a powerful tactic at the higher challenge levels.
You battle opponent mechs from a distance, then move in for flashy sword battles full of special moves, shield blocking, perfect counters, stun chances and sword clashing. These are the only fights that feel fair and equal, yet provide nice breaks from the chaotic space battles.
The gear upgrades screen only looks overwhelming at first. Your mech has four armor components: the head tends to affect your aim, the arms and torso give you light and heavy weapons and missiles, the legs change your speed. Some parts are better for health or energy or speed, and you will have to choose between trade-offs. There's also a sword and a shield which can have special properties, from energy theft or breaking enemy guard, even auto-regeneration.
Some gear can't be purchased until you research certain technologies, which you do by first finding hidden items in the missions, then purchasing the research. You can also buy research that improves your mech directly, or you can research custom mechs with unique designs. The unique mechs are powerful but can't mix and match parts, so once you start using one of them, you can focus on buying research that benefits that mech the most – and then some missions and challenges can't be beaten unless you make the right mix and match mech.
After you beat the main game, there's a New Game Plus mode which upgrades the enemies somewhat. You'll start the same story over with the same core and everything you purchased before, so this is more like a victory lap as well as a great time to try a harder difficulty setting.
Once again, as janky and rough as this game is, that can be forgiven because the amazingly small team made something really fun. The combat tends toward overpowered fantasy at the easier difficulty settings or once you reach higher levels, though there are a few challenge spikes which force you to upgrade. Play this for that power fantasy, not the average story, and you'll have a great time.
It's cool. I bought it cuz at first glance it reminded me of the Transformer Movie games. It doesn't play anything like them but I think its an alright game. If you like Mecha games you'll probably like this game.
The game would be OK if they characters would STFU and let you play, but they run their useless mouths every 3 seconds, interrupting the action and ruining the fun. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST SHUT THE FU%$ UP AND LET ME PLAY THE DAMNED GAME!!!!!
i am very inclined to hate this game.
this is a game lost in itself that tries to be a good game, and this active trial sabotages it to hell and back.
of course when i buy my giant mech game, i am very much looking foward to clunky stealth sections, laser puzzles and comically large levers that only god-like giant metal beasts can operate, developers what is wrong with you all.
this is not fun, this game starts fun, lure you into 2 hours of fun explosion shooty shooty and then slowly creeps some of the worse slogs ive seen in a mech game.
the levers, these comically large levers are something only the mechs can operate, so lorewise if a air system malfunctions and the pilot is out in battle, everyone inside the ship is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, no no whoever came up with this comically large lever, you brough this upon the game, its canon now.
jokes aside these levers also suffer from missaligment, you will try 3 times to get it before the camera correctly aligns with where you should press it, trust me its not the center, with the comically large levers explained we go to.
stealth sections : there are way too many levels where you pull those comically large levers to activate a ship that you must follow to stay hidden, stay inside a floating ball and STEALTH is done, sure is simple but i have to question the very existance of such a thing in a giant mech game, specially since there is nothing in these stealth levels that you can't take out in 20 seconds or less, also you actually do take everything out as soon as you finish the stealth level, so whats even the point ??
Laser Puzzles : remember when i said that everyone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ without the giant robots to pull out the comically large levers ? that bring us to entire levels made with you pulling levers so lasers go to the right place, pull and push, repeat until you find the solution, lets be honest, aside from the obvious ''this is a mech game what is wrong with you'' i should be shouting, lets be real both the stealth thing and these incredibly brainless easy puzzles are nothing but padding, its so i can take 15 hours to finish this instead of 5.
escorting missions : WHY BRO WHY COME ON NOW.
radiation missions : this is a peek a boo type of level that you gotta hide in shade from some asteroids to avoid sun radiation to collect materials, lorewise why are rebellion sending their top class very limited amount of pilots to do mining work, yall have giant ships to use instead.
side characters : this game will force you to switch characters in some missions, it expect you to love these characters enough to be hyped when it changes to that guy, what happens instead is that you realize that their mech is ♥♥♥♥ compared to your own and so you try to speedrun the mission to get rid of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mech to get back to your own.
BUGS : best part, from errors that make you repeat a checkpoint to straight up game breaking infinite loading screens that are a surprise and might happen at any moment once you die, forcing you to restart the game and possibly the mission, combo that with the fact that most of these missions are a slog and i start to question if most of these positive reviews are not greenman website devs themselves
the game COULD have avoided all that crap and focused on the good parts of the game which are the combat missions, lol, and make the game only 5 hours long ? no guys we can't do that, we are being published by greenmangaming we can't pull that ♥♥♥♥ ! PAD THIS ♥♥♥♥ LETS GOOOOOO!!
the combat isn't even that good tbh, its serviceable until they start throwing gimmicky enemies at you, one of which takes away your energy, the very thing you use to defend yourself, so you take lead for a little bit before you can fight back.
aside from a fun style of westernized giant robots, this game really has nothing to offer that other mech games don't already have, cursed be the day i though it was interesting.
i didn't talk about the story because its the same as any rebel army story ever, add padding of making giant robots pull comically large levers until they win agains't evil empire.
Ich finde dieses Spiel total cool! Nen richtig schöner Weltraumshooter! Man könnte ihn fast ein bißchen mit Everspace vergleichen, wobei mir aber War Tech Fighters hier mehr Spaß macht. War Tech Fighters ist mehr auf schnelle Action ausgelegt, Everspace mehr auf Zeugs suchen und verzweifelt kämpfen.

wtf's core gameplay is awesome, probably the best gundam game ive ever played. but then theres like 50 buts.
...but the customization is shallow
...but the missions get repetitive (there's 3-5+ of each type with minor variations)
...but several mission types are a frustrating slog (looking at you, stealth levels)
...but the mech v mech melee combat is just a mess
...but its about six hours too long
...BUT! its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rad to fire a spread of missiles at a battleship, wiping out its guns before bisecting it with your sword
its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rad to lay waste to a squadron of enemy fighters with your machine guns and then trash them with punches and kicks
its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rad to just fly around space in a gundamesque mech
also judging from the forum, the dev is still responding to players of their *six year old* game. shows some dedication and deserves a thumbs up all on its own
tl;dr incredibly satisfying space mecha combat dragged down by ... almost everything else. but the basic gameplay is so good that you might just plow through it anyway
Is fun but i had enough of radio tuning what is called hacking lolz :(
This game has some good ideas, but its flaws prevent this from being an overall good experience.
The good:
- The performance was good. I played it from start to finish on the Steam Deck with no issues.
- The controls are mostly decent, with a couple glaring issue that I'll mention later on.
- There's decent variety with the combat, puzzles, stealth, and radiation sections (though I'm not too fond with those in particular).
- The graphics are quite good for a game of this scale.
- Most of the mech designs were middling, but the cruiser designs were good.
- The soundtrack is enjoyable. The Black Hound theme was great, especially with the intro.
The bad:
- There's a poor difficulty curve. The first half of the campaign is relatively easy, but once you reach the "Black Sails" mission, the difficulty shoots up. Enemies will spam homing missiles, easily killing you. This will happen repeatedly from that point forward, so finishing the game becomes a chore. I'm not opposed to having an increase in difficulty, but going from a few enemies having homing missiles to nearly all of them having them is unfair. I couldn't even come up with a real strategy to beat them; it was just a matter of slowly whittling down the numbers, retreating to gain distance from the group, hoping to recover some health before being shot down. I played the game on normal, so I shudder at how people would have played on the two higher difficulties.
- This game encourages grinding, but there's little reward. You can replay missions and do challenges, but those either give you XP or materials (the latter which is more important). Once you complete one of those, the reward for attempting it again drops to 10% of what you originally got. Also, any materials you find in replays will NOT count toward you obtaining any, which is unfair (even if it is a "simulation").
- There are points where you'll play as a different character, which is fine on paper, but the missions where you play as someone else from start to finish was unnecessary. Given how this is a game about building your own mech and customizing it, being shoehorned into another mech for a whole mission goes against that idea. Switching between characters during a mission was fine, though.
- The chase missions were not good. You have to head to a specific point in order to progress. Tailing a ship does not count. So even if the person you're following is within close proximity and clearly visible, because you followed them instead of the target, you failed. Going back to the control problems I mentioned, you boost by holding down the left thumbstick, but after a certain amount of time, your thumb will get a little tired and let slip, slowing you down. This can cause you to fail the chase (or guarantee a failure in final segments). Additionally, if you bump into something like an asteroid, your movement is so slow if you try to fly up and down to move out the way. This problem is just as bad when you're trying to fly away from missiles and hit something, causing you to be pinned down until you die.
- The story is pretty forgettable. It's not bad, but it's average. The plot twist at the end had no real buildup, so the reveal didn't feel earned.
- Not a major thing to lose points over, but there were some typos in the dialogue/a few moments of the dialogue didn't make sense.
If it weren't for the insane difficulty spikes and forced grind, I would say to buy this on sale. But those factors dampen any fun you'll have from when you first get started. I can't recommend War Tech Fighters.
It was an interesting concept, but the overall game flow was a bit dull and tedious. Each mission has a lot of dull scanning activities and unskippable cutscenes with an uninteresting setting, ranged combat doesn't feel satisfying regardless of your choice of bullets or missiles, the QTE execution animations got old after a while, and the melee engage system is quite tedious as well. The mech build progression was slow and unfulfilling.
It's difficult to find good mecha games that capture the hardcore but also solidly robust systems of Armored Core, but there are other indie titles like Project Nimbus, titles that have a combination of good parts and bad parts while War Tech Fighters is mostly bad. But I did get the game on sale.
Ok game as far as fake Gundam experience goes. Levels are a little bland, gameplay gets repetitive after a while, but it does allow you to feel like the Red Meteor Chazz Aznabou or the [i]Moderntypes[/i] Omuro Ray or Khamil Biden.
Нашел эту игру в глубинах стима после знакомства с аниме про гандам. Она показалась самой приближенной к ожидаемой мной концепции "чбры сражаются в космосе поливая друг друга плазмой с расстояния, а потом схлёстываются в ближнем бою на световых мечах, и только конечности разлетаются." Отчасти я получил, что хотел. Отчасти нет.
Геймплей у игры довольно примитивный. Есть достаточно так разных механик, с которыми дают поиграться, но их недостаточно, чтобы они не приелись к концу игры. Миссии с переключением лучей так вообще под конец вызывают вопрос "шо, опять?". Враги в игре в большинстве своём просто летающие мишени, но есть и те, кто могут дать сдачи и те, к кому требуется особый подход.
Визуал и в принципе стилистика у игры простая и угловатая, но приятная. Мне понравилось перестраивать и перекрашивать своего негандама, а так же анимации добивания самолётиков и разрубания вражеских негандамов. Аудио сопровождение в игре тоже на уровне - гул реактивных двигателей, звуки выстрелов лазеров, взрывы ракет и техники - всё сделано "вполне норм". Ну и плюс ещё рок-н-ролл наяривает на фоне.
Сюжет у игры с одной стороны "никакой", а с другой он ну просто 1 в 1 как будто взят из боевика нулевых со Стетхэмом. Очень простая история про "ты герой, идёт война, геройствуй". Не затягивает, просто следишь за происходящим.
В итоге я не могу сказать, что эта игра особо чем то зацепила, или прямо порекомендовать её кому-либо (разве что таким же упоротым фанатам ЧБРов, которые хотят поиграть хоть во что то). Она... ну просто... "ну норм". Провёл в ней несколько вечеров, вполне норм экшончик, норм сложность, норм визуал. Покупал на распродаже. Денег не жалею. Двадцать потраченных на игру часов провёл вполне с удовольствием. Короче говоря, по скидке взять норм. За фулпрайс - не стоит.
Личный совет для тех, кто будет проходить. Эти "спешиал проджекты" советую всё же собирать в симулякре. Последние миссии реально сложные, и без щита Рипера, дающего пассивную регенерацию, я не представляю как их превозмогать.
1. Frustratingly bad level design, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ timers to complete "objectives" sometimes seconds sometimes minutes, lots of these type of "objectives" to make this artificially "difficult".
2. UI issues. Destroy that group of capital ships there in 3 minutes. Weak spot doesn't get hit even though you're hammering it? well, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of luck and time, do the whole thing again from last checkpoint.
Can't tell where the weak spot is because the UI doesn't show you like it's supposed to? well too bad 3 seconds remaining.
3. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mecha boss that is invoulnerable until you spiritbomb him to make him voulnerable for 1 second, said spiritbomb needs to charge up WHILE STANDING IN PLACE!!! WTF? Yeah, good game title. He has a lot of health and your heal options are bad and limited, can't outlast him. Every atempt to spiritbomb him leaves you wide open for a missil barrage, which he will use, so you're going to lose about 1/3 of your health. You can blow your whole money on upgrades for this one fight, money you've saved up for better ♥♥♥♥ that has to be unlocked in later missions.
BS escort mission with 2 capitalships made of paper, get attacked by multiple waves from multiple sides, melt like butter, restart from last checkpoint about 10 times until you get lucky at the top of your skill, killing roughly 1 enemy every 2 seconds isn't enough, need RNG. There are three difficulties, normal hard and hero. I played on hard. Can't lower difficulty mid game.
4. Can't grind in a game that is heavily grind focused. Well you can replay a challenge for 100 creds. You get about 3k for completing a mission, a +5% more dmg upgrade costs about 1.5k some better ones about 2-3k.
There are a LOT of upgrades and research.
5. Your squadmates are mostly useless, don't seem to do anything until you tell them and you can only tell them to attack one weakspot and then they're on standby again. They also constantly and I mean constantly get right in front of you all the time.
How the ♥♥♥♥ the devs decided that this is "fine", I can't tell. bought it for 5 Euros on sale and regret the purchase. I tried to like it but the bad gamedesign just kills the fun. Buy Demon Ex Machina instead.
This is not a great mech game. It is clunky and focuses too hard on an uninteresting story. The mechs are ugly and the customization lacks variety as many parts are objectively better than others. The game tries and I can appreciate that but it falls short of the $10 price tag. Pick this game up on a sale for around $5 bucks like I did. I wish I could give it an okay rating. 5/10
Tiene algunos problemas y le faltan mecánicas para variar el gameplay pero, al final y al cabo, es un juego en donde podes equipar el casco de Iron Man, la espada de Guerra (Darksiders) y tirar EMPs haciendo la pose del Kamehameha. Necesito decir más?
It's a rare game in PC. Reminds me of those arcade style Macross games in PSP.
My second biggest gripe with this game is how it does not allow money grinding.
My BIGGEST gripe with this game, is that IT HAS NO BUSINESS BEING SUPER HARD TO CHEATENGINE.
If you like Mechs and fast action, this one is for you.

The Graphics are nice, and the gameplay feels nice, but still, it has to many issues to recommend it.
It want to deliever fast Mecha Combat, but to do so, the aiming is largely automated - I guess, thats since it wouldn't be possible to hit anything due speed in combination with unprecisious Mecha control. There is nearly 0 skill needed and thus it doesn't really makes fun; you basically just click buttons to let explode enemies all over the screen.
The Mecha customization is a joke. You just level up your gear, which add some better stats. No choice between various playstyles, or various weapons you could skill. Just "+10 Attack" or "+5 Energy". Thats all.
The story... Yeah. Feels very basic. Not sure if the story gets better, but there are some point which are totally atmo-killers and - for me - broken War Tech Fighters the neck.
1) There is (except some small cutscenes) no voice acting. Your Mecha has a System-Voice, but none of the characters have any voice; all dialogs are just text based. This is boring and in big space battles, I just NEED some radio incoming. In complete silence, it just not feels like you are fighing big battles in a epic war...
2) You start as a prenamed Character, which is already (as it seems) senior pilot at your Navys War Tech Force. But your character has no background, nor any character, nor anything else. It's basically just a placeholder. This kills imagination as the atmosphere, and you just dont really want to know how the story is moving on, beacuse you just dont care.
So. Nope. Sorry. Refund.

日本のロボットアニメに触発され、ハリウッド映画のような大作を目指したとのことで、
シナリオ、メカデザインは良い出来栄えでした。宇宙や空中といった3次元戦闘オンリーなので、ご注意を。
反面、ゲームシステムやバランスといった意味ではめちゃくちゃ且つ単調なもので、
[b]思ったより自由度が無く、飽きやすいもので、
また、進めるにつれてストレスだけが積もる[/b]といった具合でした。
ロボットゲームだから、TPSだから、といった軽い気持ちで買える値段でも無いので、
おすすめしないとさせていただきます。

ゲーム内で入手できる資金が限られているため、様々なパーツを付け替え、
ミッションに応じたビルドで戦闘に臨む、といったことが困難になっています。

本作では、強大な力を持った帝国との闘いを描いているためか、
基本的には敵機体のスペックが高く、また不利な状態での戦闘を強いられます。
序盤では、ザクⅡとジム程度だった戦力差が、気付けば敵機はガンダムに乗り換え、
IフィールドやGNフィールドが標準装備の世界へと変貌していきます。
一方、プレイヤーはヨンム・カークスよろしくと言わんばかりに一年戦争の機体を改修しながら戦う始末。
この点に関しては、資金繰りが難しい本作のシステムが起因していると思われます。

本作では、剣によるロボット同士の白兵戦や、戦闘機や戦艦相手に発動する必殺モーションなど、
派手な演出が多い一方でそれを行うメリットがあまりありません。
白兵戦では被弾する確率が高く、相手に対するダメージも見込めないことがあります。
また、バグにより、敵機のHPが回復する現象を引き起こす場合があります。
必殺モーションは戦闘機にある程度接近する必要がありますが、
移動速度や旋回性能は比較できないほど相手が上なので、あまりに固執すると、
捉える前にこちらが撃墜されてしまいます。
また、相手の無敵バリアを剥がすことができる特殊技がありますが、
使用可能なタイミングがわからず、ボタンを押しても発動しないといったことがあり、
UIの面でもストレスが掛かってきます。

どのミッションでも進行不能バグが発生し、その頻度も頻繁に発生する場合もあり、
スムーズにゲームを進めることが出来ない状態になっています。
ゲームがクラッシュするといった類ではないため、特に目的地が表示されないバグについては、
そもそもバグに気付かないことがあり、何かが起きるまで虚無の時間を過ごす羽目になります。

If you are going to buy this, you should know what you are getting into. The mechs are fun, the game is pretty, the combat's pretty good. But while the game visually has polish, the internals are a bit wonky. Upgrades, research, some mission objects and a few challenges are not real intuitive. Here's what I didn't like:
Special Research Projects: If you don't find them the first time in the level, you have to replay the level to get them. And you want them. There's a good steam guide that has most of them included. My advice: Keep the guide up and use it on levels that have projects so you don't have to do them again.
Executions: If you played Doom Eternal you've seen these. They earn you more materials and restore hp. But the animations are repetitive and while you can hit space to skip them, it really breaks up the mood in a fight. They should be disable-able. Also later on your guns are so strong that you rarely can get executions due to the enemy dying to quick, so then you are punished for being too strong. Really I wish they were not in the game at all and all kills restored hp.
Stealth/Burning/Puzzle missions: I bought a space mech game to kill stuff. Missions that make me stealth, avoid sunlight, and solve lazer puzzles are not what I wanted. Also don't like the few escort quests.
Anyway if you are in a mood to blow things up and don't need a good storyline to do so, this will do fine.
On sale it is your Omega Boost fix. It's a shame they felt the need to have a close combat mode though, rather than keeping it all free and fluid.
It's alright. Not great, not terrible. If you don't have any better mecha game to play and this is on sale it might be good enough to fill the gap.
It's OK but nothing spectacular. Some missions are annoying and it gets repetitive after a few hours but if you want to casually play with some mechs, it gets the job done.
Don't buy if you plan to play with a controller. It says it has full support for them but it's a lie, it only detects the mouse and keyboard.
There are a ton of good things happening here for a sale price.
You obviously know its singleplayer, meaning a good chance you will like it as a casual game.
I only recommend this game to people who like aircraft sims. Every fight is in space (or at least the sky), so i really have to question, why in this case, a mech is the ideal form. You NEVER land anywhere...so why have legs???
Also im not a fan of the mech artwork itself. ALL mechs are really blocky, with overly busy textures, And as you unlock more unique sets of armor for your mech, well they are just the same blocky sets with a few organic looking pieces tacked on.
There are different classes of weapons/defenses, but theres little difference between gameplay based on your choice. Like laser/magnetic/quantum, are just cosmetic. I mean a magnetic weapon should be magnetic i.e you shoot a magnetic bullet, it pulls in metallic enemies. Quantum, perhaps should slow time with shots/strikes. But essentially, its just coloring of your weapons.
Mech clashes/Execution animations get boring real quick, yes you can skip them, but again, just detracts from an enjoyable experience.
I'm sure there are people who will enjoy this title, which is why it gets a thumbs up, but for me, it left me posing the question.......WTF?

キャンペーンは7割ほど進んでいて、途中サブミッション的なもの多少こなした程度です。

④操作に慣れていない、機体も雑魚の時は面白くないゲーム。
⑤初めはFPS視点でプレイせずにTPS視点でプレイして慣れないと敵がどこから攻撃しているのかわからない

I don't think I really enjoyed this game, it's extremely grindy and the combat is unfriendly, but the kill scenes are kinda cool, but anyway, it's important that sometwo(idk)'s out here trying to make new mecha games, especially labors of love like this.
装甲总体而言, 因为属性平衡性的问题, 在具备多属性武装的敌方集火下是相当地脆, 即使强化全部开发完也无济于事, 加上回避动作除了跑以外没有其它, 于是常规战法就变成了举盾放导弹, 而使用其它武器在大量敌人丝毫不停息地集火攻击面前需要承担相当地风险, 尤其是需要击落高威力导弹的时候, 需要合理的能量分配策略为导弹攻击和轻/重武器攻击的持续性做准备, 后者又关系到具体的武装配置策略.
嘛这样也还行, 那么不怎么行的地方呢, 就是强制动画, 强制格斗和强制QTE, 极大破坏了游戏节奏, 在破坏节奏外, 这些设计还会导致玩家暂时丢失其它目标, 甚至会被脱离之前的战斗区域, 而这一时刻中敌方要么正集火玩家, 要么正集火护卫目标, 使得原本很具有表现力的格斗战处决尤其在生存模式下变得些许让人讨厌, 尽管这是除了自动回血强化外唯一能获得大量回血的机会所在.
至于剧情, 殖民地反抗暴政, 不打不相识的海盗和黑市贩子, 以及并不是二五仔的Boss, 再加入一些推箱子般的解迷和"潜入", 就原创mech游戏而言这种混搭风格倒是并不多见.

Se la risposta è "Sì!" e avete, ad oggi, conservato la passione per i videogiochi, allora WAR TECH FIGHTERS è un titolo che dovete comprare assolutamente.
Al di là della trama, ben scritta e aderente allo stile a cui il gioco si ispira, oltre alla frenesia ed alla velocità dei combattimenti nello spazio (in alcuni frangenti, bisogna avere dei riflessi da Jedi), che sarebbero comunque sufficienti per consigliare questo gioco, questa prima fatica degli italianissimi Drakkar Dev consente a noi Giocatori non solo di pilotare un "nostro" mech ma di svilupparlo e farlo crescere in potenza in una maniera molto intelligente.
Non parliamo di un banale avanzamento di Livello (per quanto presente): se, procedendo nel gioco, avremo maggiori o minori difficoltà sarà solo a causa nostra.
SCEGLIERE come sviluppare il nostro War Tech è fondamentale: lo sviluppo "ignorante" di progetti e componenti, senza considerare un percorso di crescita sulla distanza, porterà il Giocatore a cocenti sconfitte.
Maniaci del completismo a tutti i costi, siete avvisati: puntare a voler sviluppare tutto, non vi porterà a nulla se non ad una maggiore possibilità di installare sul vostro mech gli armamenti sbagliati e venire distrutti in missione.
Ragionamento e strategia, tra una missione e l'altra, sono la chiave del successo. E dell'immensa soddisfazione nell'arrivare alla conclusione della Campagna!
Proprio questa componente è la chiave di volta di WTF: un simulatore sorprendentemente "realistico", in un contesto fantascientifico.
UNICA NOTA NEGATIVA: la visibilità che Steam sta dando a questo titolo. Meno di zero: una vergogna, considerando che il gioco merita tantissimo.
游戏挺好的不过战斗方式单一，画质也可以，操作手感也挺好，就是只能射击，只有残血才能拔刀而战，而却整个游戏显得很呆板，我也喜欢机甲风格游戏但不是这种，是打怪升级和收集机甲，组装机甲，可以射击也可以拔剑而战，最后一点英文，好烦
I had a mech itch to scratch and this game did the trick. However, it got grindy fast and gameplay got repetitive. If you aren't much for story and purely in it for mech battles, it's okay for what it brings.
It was fun while it lasted.
It looks and plays just like you think it does. That's a good thing, really enjoy this, not much mission variety but many upgrades.
Alors de ce que j'ai pu voir, c'est un jeu pas cher, joli, très personnalisable et développé par une toute petite équipe.
Je recommande ce jeu à tout ceux qui apprécient les mechas comme moi (Evangelion, Gundam, Pacific Rim).
Les développeurs semblent souvent ajouter des patch correctifs et semblent à l'écoute de la communauté.
Aucun loot box ni DLC, les succès ne semblent pas absurdement difficiles.
Et niveau Gameplay ça se joue très bien à la manette.
Pour résumer, Une petite perle que j'ai hâte de diffuser.

・ミサイル…中速で誘導する小型と爆風範囲有の大型のものがあり唯一盾を構えた状態で撃つことができる
・フィニッシュ攻撃…敵のHPが減少した状態で一定距離内でロック範囲にいれボタンを押すと発生、演出とともに敵を屠るこのゲームにおいて重要な攻撃。使用すると「HPとENが回復し、クリア時のリザルトで回数に応じて開発費ボーナス発生」
・クァンタムバースト…ストーリー進行で使用可能になる前方120度ほどの範囲にスタン効果のある範囲攻撃を放つ、EN最大かつ溜めが必要であるが一部の敵バリアをはがすことが可能
・備考…属性はレーザー、マグネット、反物質の3つがあるが後半の人型敵は全属性耐性もちなのであまり気にする必要はなさげ。敵が使うミサイルの誘導性能やファスト・ヘヴィの性質もこちらと同じ

気になる所さん
・後半になると敵HPの伸びに比べ近接武器の火力が研究で盛るほか無いため一騎打ちモードで全然削れなくなるのでヘヴィやミサイルで削るほうが早いため一騎打ちにうまあじが無い
・パーツ組み換えや研究スキルでのステの伸びはあるものの戦闘でとれる戦術は変わらないためダレ易い
・探索やクラッキング箇所がわかりにくい、エリアマップがないためシークレット探索がめんどう
・武装しているタイプの敵は武装破壊してからでないと本体にダメージが入らない仕様になっており4か所ほどの中型敵ならヘヴィ乱射か大型ミサイルによる巻き込みでよいが破壊か所が大量にある戦艦でも全破壊しないといけないので非常に骨が折れる、戦艦は武装を破壊した後の装甲もどちらから攻撃しても変わらないような薄い形状のものでもしっかりマーカーのついている方向からしか破壊できずぐるぐるまわりながら解体作業をする羽目になる（戦艦の武装にもクァンタムバーストが効くため背後から数発撃つだけで全破壊できるが作業感が増す）
・フィニッシュ攻撃で報酬増加するので使う方がよいが使い過ぎるとおテンポが壊れる
完走した感想（ノーマルモードクリア）
・粗削りだったりテンポが悪くなる要素が多々々あるもののミッション内容は飽きさせないように工夫している点は〇、戦闘においてはこちらが取れる戦法が少なく同じことの繰り返しになりやすい、ボスもボスらしくない（基本的にやることが変わらない）。セールで安く買えるなら悪くはない内容。
ラスボスの敵援軍到着後10秒程度でHP7割削ってくるガー不トラクタービーム撃つ戦闘機許さねぇからな
Well its a pretty good game but a pretty flawed one,though I really enjoyed my time playing this game, it has a lot of room for improvement.
First of all the combat is good not as fast as other mech games but is still pretty fast-paced.Though it does get repetitive it still is enjoyable, some enemy types are pretty annoying though, such as the tornado (a ship that drains your energy meter as it passes by) though it is small, it can be the cause of your downfall as swarms of them can prevent your war tech from moving and attacking causing your demise. so please fix some of the enemy types.
Second point. the melee combat is usually a fencing mini game outside of the real time combat which is enjoyable but thats all that is to the melee system , it would help a lot if there is melee combat is also available in real time, essentially make it have a hack n slash option for combat as some enemies tend to come too close.
Third point. the the stealth section is really bad,it stops the fast-paced nature of the game and it can be irritating from time to time especially with mines in the vicinity, I had one experience when I was far from a mine but it still detonated causing a another mine to blow up making me redo the section.
Fourth point. some of the research upgrades are plain useless.I would recommend that new players save their materials to upgrade the anti-matter tree as laser,bullet and magnetic if fully upgraded is still under powered in later stage. IDK if the developer intended that all players go for the anti-matter weapons (second best weapon) as a means of natural progression but if so then why bother with the previous weapon class upgrades? If not then the weapons need rebalance.
Fifth point. the missiles are really under powered only the normal ones. most of the time the missiles don't even hit the targets while strafing you have to use it if the enemies are directly in front of you which defeats the purpose of having a homing weapon. The High impact missiles on the other hand are pretty damn good, higher damage,better homing and better area of effect.
Sixth point, materials are really hard to come by, Though I've unlocked one of the best war tech in the game it really is hard to get all the war tech parts without multiple play-throughs.
Overall the game gets a 7.5/ 10
Good game but plenty of room for improvements hopefully a sequel will fix the problems
P.S. please fix the energy rays can't hit the small fast ships.

・敵戦闘機を上空からライダーキックで蹴り潰す
・大見得をきりながら敵ロボットを真っ二つに切り裂く
等々、フェイタリティな演出の種類が無駄に多い、雑に殺す。
その為の人型ロボット、コイツでサヨナラバイバイだ！
基本連射の効く小型火器と、ダメージの大きい大型火器、
敵を追尾できるミサイルによる射撃が攻撃の基本となる。
オートエイム(オン⇔オフ設定可)が有るので某ACよりは
カジュアルな作りになっている。
エネルギー残量が有る限り攻撃orブーストが出来、残弾数
という概念は無い、ミサイルもエネルギーだ。
研究と製造で自機をパワーアップ・カスタマイズするのだが、
なかなか金策が厳しい。
ミッション中英語で指示が出るが、細かい事は気にしなくても
大体分る筈、てか99%読んでない。
見た目ボロいのに無駄に暴れまわる映画版トランスフォーマー
的なロボットが好きな人にはおススメ。
日本のロボットアニメが好きって方には全くおススメできない。

Looking for a fast paced action game featuring mechs in space with the occasional macross missile massacre in between? Look no further. War Tech Fighters offers lots of customization, collectable special mechs and weapons. Tutorials prepare you for basic combat and challenges let you master all aspects of the game.
On the down side the game lacks some polish. The voice acting is comical sometimes and there is some repetition.
Overall I can still recommend the game. It is not perfect but still enjoyable.

A fun game overall with relatively simple controls to learn and VERY beautiful graphics. Campaign has a few slightly cheesy moments but that also adds to the title's charm in a way. I'm looking forward to any extra content they decide to add in the future (They already had a bunch of new content included when I first picked up the game, such as their Firestorm Update), and now that I've finished the main campaign and challenges, I can say with absolute certainty that this game was worth the money I paid for it. Time to go wreak havoc in the new game+!
The in game graphics are a bit of a downgrade from the trailer, which is the least of the issue. The combat is dull and repetitive with you getting a "fast attack" and "heavy attack". You have missiles but they are largely worthless since you have to keep sight of your target to get them to hit. There is an "execute" command when you get an enemy craft down to like 25% health...but these are all slow animations that don't have the impact of the material that inspired this game...and only about three. The upgrade system is locked behind xp, and it directly affects your stats of the mech. Which means the tech tree is not nearly as expansive as it first appears.
But overall the most insulting issue is that the mech to mech combat, the core experience of the inspirations for this game, are both clunky and boring. I simply LOVE mech games, and can forgive a lot...but this is simply so boring. To attack another mech you get in close and hit a button prompt. Then you circle around the other mech with light, heavy, and shield commands...that's it. No zooming around with missiles, no epic duels, it's just circling around the other mech and swinging at it. Oh and if you both attack at the same time? The game has you move a cursor into the middle of the circle and then hit a button. That's it.
Oh, and did I mention that movement is clunky, AI is about as smart as a rock, and that anything outside of the video cutscenes is all silent text?
I get this is an idie game, but as much as I love mech games I simply had to return it after finding myself bored in the first hour.
I owe this game a review, a very long time ago, since its early access days in fact. But I am glad I waited this long.
Four mech games captured my heart in 2018. Project Nimbus, Into the Breach, Battletech ... and WTF.
What's in a name, or an acronym? The choice of acronym is quite strange, considering they could have chosen a variety of more flashy alternatives. I am guessing this may have put off some potential consumers in the early stage of advertisement. I mean, Defenders of Hebos or Knights of Hebos is a bit more enticing than WTF :)
But I digress, the name might be the only thing that I didn't like back then.
Everything else? I simply love it.
--- Gameplay ---
The premise is rather simple. You have big mechs with big guns and laser swords, blasting enemies ranging from of varying size and types, of which there are many, ranging from your grunt ships, mechs and capital ships. Capital ships are pretty fun to tear apart as you have to take down hardpoints on them to turn into scrap metal. The combat is simply FUN in this game. Shooting your light weaponry to tag a target them blowing into smithereen with shoulder canons, has a great feel to it.
The pacing is not too fast (like Project Nimbus) nor too slow, like the mechwarriors of old. It's has the right speed about everything.
The variety of missions range from exploring asteroid fields, escorting ships (escort missions :) ), assaulting enemy installation, defending your base etc ... Pretty simple objectives, and a decent length to them as well.

Good music in and out of battle.

Good variety of spacey stuff from asteroids fields close to a gas planet, space stations close to a planet surface and finally low orbit combat on planets themselves. It's not "star citizen" pretty, maybe not this gen, but it's pretty alright to me :)

With the NG+ that was recently added, it will give players a good reason to finish the campaign once more.

ANIME!!! The story is decent for what it is, and I for one, definitely enjoys this tale of brave little space mech pilots fighting the good fight.

The game has been given countless QoL and content support from the dev since day 1.
It's worth your time and money to give this game a go, at full price :)
Si te gustan los mechas y batallas espaciales, este juego esta hecho con cariño y dedicacion ya que los devs estubieron mejorandolo constantemente y haciendolo más amigable para el publico general sin perder dificultad para los acerrimos.
Tiene de todo, combate de cerca y a distancia, investigacion, buena trama alrededor de una guerra, simulador para practicar o obtener recursos, (si puedes) los graficos son cuidados y hechos para que tu robot sea de tu gusto y con las atmosfera de la misma nave que lo lleva.
En fin lo recomiendo

Easy controls and things are pretty simple despite tons of awesomeness. Just a lot of fun and crazy action. You move in 3D space, yet its easy to move around. Lots of care was taken in for showing you how to play, and the menu screen it self is pretty neat.
I was fairly disappointed with this, partly because of some of the misleading reviews, and partly because of the game itself. I've seen some reviews remarking that this is like Armored Core, which is unfair to both games, WTF isn't anywhere near as indepth as AC in mech customization.
For the Mechs themselves I'm surprised at how samey the combat already is. You've only got a few attacks; LMG, Cannon, Missile, and a sword which seems to be exclusively for counter Mech use. The majority of the upgrades seem to boil down to "Add more (stat) and less (stat)." Even the looks don't really seem to change much between parts, at least not till much later in the game.
The comedy is pretty good, as well as the graphics and skybox. But it just can't save the fact that combat is boring and frustrating, as it can get unreasonably difficult at times, while being yawn enducingly easy in others. This is more of an opinionated piece, but I really cannot stand linear storylines where you don't have access to replaying missions or some kind of open area to mess around or gather resources in.
TLDR: If you're looking at this because you've seen or heard someone say it's like Armored Core or Mech Warrior, it isn't. If you're here for deep customization, look elsewhere. If you're here for a cheap and cheesy mech games, this will probably fit the bill.
War Tech Fighters, é um dos melhores jogos de Mech que já joguei.
Visualmente muito bonito, mecânica ótima simples e precisa e uma boa trilha sonora.
História, muito bem estruturada, com clichês, mas nada que tire atenção.
Tem alguns bugs, nada que prejudique a jogabilidade e alguns são engraçados.
Os pontos altos do jogo são a customização dos Mechs, e as salas de simulação.
Enfim recomendo esse jogo a todos.
WTF.....买回来之后爽了不到20分钟.....劳资显卡烧了.....WTF.....
独立游戏做好优化非常重要.....画面没多好，烧起显卡来是一点不含糊啊......

If you are a Mecha fan YOU ARE OBLIGED TO BUY THIS GAME. PERIOD!!!!
It looks OK it plays OK but thats about it. Combat is very repetitive, ai is fairly dumb, not much skill involved and many things are behind "you are not high lvl enough" wall instead of demanding some sort of skill or knowledge. Customisation is mostly stats upgrades without changing much and same goes for mecha selection. Many people tried to compare it to ARMORED CORE series, but honestly its like comapring puddle with a sea, so if you stumbled upon it in search of "ARMORED CORE for pc" - its not it. not even remotely close.
But if you want to just hop into giant mecha and blast something with oversized multigatlings and swords for half a hour or so - try it. you will like it.
$20 for a new mech games isn't bad however it isn't armored core but close to it. Had lots of fun with some learning curves and it's controls are very good once you get used to them. It does need a better end game maybe a $15 expansion with new parts and harder missions.
ロボゲー、……という括りに入れていいのか若干迷う自機左寄りTPS or FPSな宇宙ロボゲー。
腕・脚・頭・胴体の各パーツを交換できて、それに応じて見た目も変わる、という部分に関しては紛れもないロボゲー。ただし武装も戦法も自由には選べず、アーマードコアやカスタムロボには程遠い。
武装は低威力だが狙いやすく高連射の「ライトウェポン」を前腕に、中威力でホーミングする「ミサイル」を肩に、高威力だが狙いにくく低連射の「ヘビーウェポン」を背中に装備していて、この構成はどんなにパーツを付け替えても変わらない。ミサイルを持たずに軽量化するといった選択肢はない。
そして「腕」を交換すれば前腕のライトウェポン性能と肩のミサイル性能が同時に、胴体パーツを交換すれば背中のヘビーウェポン性能が変化はするのだが、攻撃力50が80になったぞと数値が変わるだけで弾速や誘導性・爆発範囲といった使い勝手に影響を与える変化がほぼない。俺はショットガンと棍棒だけ持って近接戦闘にすべてを賭けるぜとか、超長距離からちくちくやるぜとかは選べない。
また視認して回避できるのはミサイルだけで、ライト/ヘビーウェポンに関しては敵のも自分のも照準内に捉えさえすれば、撃つと同時に着弾して絶対に当たる。例え盾で防いでも、盾で軽減できる分を超えた火力で撃たれたら普通にダメージを受けて死ぬ。固くして耐える一択だ。高機動紙装甲の回避型は作れない。
ついでにいうと脚パーツを変えると数値上の移動速度は変わるのだが、なにせ常に宇宙を飛んでいるので比較対象になる壁や床がなくてまったく実感できない。当然歩くアクションもないので二脚以外の鳥足とか多脚とか無限軌道とかもない。
瀕死の敵に近づくと演出付きの特殊攻撃が出せて勝手にかっこいいフィニッシュムーブをしてくれたり、同じくロボ型の敵に近づくとチャンバラモードになったり、ロボなのにカメハメ波撃っちゃったり、パーツ数はそこそこあるし端々にいいところもあるんだけど、どうしても洗練が足りない。メタスコアはまだ出てないけど68～72くらいに落ち着きそうな、賛否両論になるのも納得できるゲーム。
B級ロボゲー好きだったらワンコイン500円以下なら楽しめたり楽しめなかったりするぞ。
非常非常棒的机战游戏，操作起来行云流水。但是细节方面有些小僵硬，可以看出工作室应该都是新人。有几点我想给官方提下建议，就是能不能把近战战斗改成自由性的，这个可以参考PS4或者老早以前PSP上的高达大乱斗。毕竟近战锁定战斗还是不太舒服。相信也用不了制作组多少功夫。还有就是机动方面，希望制作组能制作出向后，向左向右喷射推进器的位移动作，这样可以把这部作品体现的更加完美。另外本人也会对外宣传这部作品，因为作为一个高达迷的我真的深深的被这部作品吸引。所以希望官方能够把玩家们的建议采纳一下，取其精华，去其糟粕。

・トドメ技関連
このゲーム、敵のHPを減らすとトドメ技を出せます
コレ自体は技の演出も相まって、なかなかいいです
けどこのトドメモーション、一応ボタンでスキップはできるんですが
短いムービーシーンになってるため終了時に位置関係がわからなくなります…
トドメ＞敵を見失う＞探してトドメ＞また見失う
この流れが延々続くためテンポ悪いしダレますｗ
だったら無視すれば…と思うのですが、
このトドメ技、ステージクリア時の入手金にガッツリ影響しますし、
HPとENの回復手段にもなっているため狙わないという選択肢がなく…
・敵の攻撃の視認性
このゲームの死因の大半は、どこから撃たれてるかわかりずらい機銃になります
これが実に厄介で、自機の回避運動とかほぼ無意味なんですよね…
遠距離から視認できない機銃で蜂の巣になって死ぬことのなんという多さ…
装甲強化系の研究を進めることでかなり改善されますが、
それでもかなりきついです。
リアル系ロボ的な扱いなんだから、プレイヤーの回避運動でどうにかできるような仕様にしてほしかったかな…
・ゲロ吐きそうな難易度のシークレット探索
ステージの全体マップがこのゲームないです
んで基本宇宙なんで広い上に上下左右全方向移動です。
その状態で探す自機の手のひらサイズのシークレットの難易度ときたらもう…
普通にシークレット探させる気がないっすよねこれｗ

Seriously this game is 100% anime Mech. It's about hammy dialogue, nebulous science and giant robots going at it like medieval knights. This independant title shows the fighting spirit of a small team trying their best to realise a dream, their tech may not be the best, their experience may be lacking and they may have stumbled here and there but they have delivered on what may not be the best game, but what is a good and unique game.

As a lover of games like mech warrior or Armored core, this game doesn't scratch that itch.
And from the very little i played, it seems to be rather easy to win missions since you just hold down the buttons & you auto combo / kill. It is probably a good game to get cheap, but not even worth the 7$ i paid for i think.
Let's say it was a good game, I was just expecting more as far as customization, weaponry, freedom to choose where I go. The in battle scenes to me, become very repetitive, though I do die many times. There are only so many different ways to kick or punch a fighter ship. Sword fighting was pretty limited as far as what you can do. I was expecting more different weapons than machine gun and laser, few missles, or a heavy type cannon to burst, or at least some kind of variation. I was looking for a more in depth armored core... this isn't it so I'll be getting my refund. Enjoy!
I wanted to like this game but the erratic difficulty makes it difficult to.
First mission it asks me to dodge missles. I am dashing, dodging, moving left and right and somehow enemies drain my health in less than a second.
I fight an enemy War Tech Frame and unleash a full combo that barely does 1/4 of its health in damage. It hits me twice and almost all of my health is depleted.
There doesn't seem to be a consistent difficulty nor a way of having skill. It seems like you get lucky and the enemy is braindead or you can't dodge any of their attacks.
You cannot use melee unless you lock on, you have an energy meter that draws from all attacks. You can't use heavy and light attacks at the same time and dashing drains your energy extremely quickly meaning you can do nothing but sit there.
I refunded this game.

With that I of course don't mean to be offensive which no doubt some dipshat will take it as. I mean this in the most positive of lights.
Game feels like a 90's cartoon come to life. The game is also at first hard as hell to understand because as I say it's Asian AF. Weird UI decisions. Weird control options but in the end. Who cares. I'm from the old gaurd if you will when you didn't complain about strange control schemes you simply adapted and overcame. It doesn't take long because I exaggerate a little bit. Game controls fine. It's a little different to be sure then if it was developed in the West but no big deal. There aren't that many controls period and they are all re-bindable(which for a left-hander like me is a must) and otherwise game works great. Great graphics. Huge robots. Space....it's a great game and on the highest level of difficulty it's NOT easy, thank God.
Thumbs up. But it if you like anyting giant robot slash mecha I guess I'll say but just as a sci-fi fan I'm very happy. I paid almost nothing for the game and come on. Great entertainment the the $$$$.

so far from what I've played the best way to describe the game is Armor Core in space with a arcade like feel. the weapons and customization are fantastic and if your a mecha fan you'll enjoy gathering as many parts as you can for variations, the interface is easy to use and the tutorial is light quick reading. the story is hit or miss but its there and isn't to dry so far. the allid system is ok but you don't need it so far from what I've played. (currently level 4) the ship designs are intresting and remind me of some retro games. don't expect to be pulling off crazy monervers without a controler though, its a pretty level field your on and you allways orintate to an up and down perspective, the enemies are predictable but numerous. haven't had to attack any capital ships yet but I'm hoping to soon. also this game would I think benifit if there were some ground operations as well.
Very good! This was the mech game I was looking for. Simple concept, funny and challenging action, gorgeous mech design with the possibility of customization . I like the enemy executions' idea. And the close combat with sword and shield is also a good variation to the shooting gameplay.
I played 3 hours only at the moment but I had fun enough to say I spent my money well.
There are some stupidly difficult missions even on Normal mode. Devs, the two ships you have to defend in the "Long and Winding Road" mission die WAY TOO EASILY. Thanks Dev, I'll try our your suggestion, particularly the Quantum Wave. :v
Aside from that, I am challenged by this game. I'm still playing it, after all. No crashes like the others, so I guess it's a configuration issue for them.
Mecha nut + generous asking price = No brainer (Especialy if you grab it at 50% off through August 1st!)
Having fun with it so far! I love customization and I love Gundam-style mechs, so this definitely fills the void that a certain "Build your own Gundam" game recently failed to fill. Battle dynamics are pretty sweet; switching between long and short range combat reminds me of Zone of the Enders, which i consider another Mech masterpiece. The soundtrack also stands out from most of the niche genre, and I definitely get pumped every time I sortie!
In honesty; menus are somewhat convoluted, but I'm certain they take a little getting used to.
Overall this title doesn't tread AAA territory, and that's what's perfect about it. You get what you pay for; a solid game that will treat mech fans to a dynamic mech-sim experience that takes some getting used to, but should leave a nice aftertaste as it goes down.

研发系统还行，标准的普通刷刷刷然后自己拼配件，不过里面的机设和飞船都给人一种乐高金属模型拼出来的感觉。。。机甲颇有古早超级系机器人的风味。拔剑的姿势多少让我想起了战神金刚，考虑到这片子在欧美的人气也不奇怪。
总的来说还是推荐的，上手难度比同类型的project nimbus要低很多。。。
This game is awesome. It lacks substance, however; this can be fixed with a few things: open world maps for bounty hunting (enemy mechs) and resource gathering as well as Gundam Breaker-like boss battles, item rarities and parts gathering (killing enemy mechs drops their parts) with more skilled and lethal mechs dropping higher chances of legendary parts. Also, the customization seems to be limited to the exact same parts with slight variations. This is a little lackluster to be honest. If they had rarities, this would be passable but they don't, so it's disappointing.
I fully support this game's development as well as the developer. It's awesome, I look forward to seeing if the devs consider my suggestions and implement them.
The search the area parts of missions can get really repeatative and boring, but when you finally get to fight ships and mechs, it's extremely fun. If you enjoyed this game, be sure to check out an anime named Gundam Wing.

TL;DR This game is a fun Mecha game, fans of Gundam, Armored Core, etc. will get a kick out of it though it still has some major rough edges. Wait for a sale.
In-Depth
Pros:
-Mecha fighting in space. Seriously, what is bad about that?
-Customization of said War Tech Fighers (Mecha)
*Weapon types (Melee, Ranged, Shields, Missles, etc.)
*Body Customization with actual effects to stats
*Painting of Mech
It could be more in-depth, and the developers have done a good job updating this aspect. It is really cool that you do your customization in a hanger, like Armored Core and Gundam. The options are pretty varied and interesting, espeecially later in the game.
-Flying through space is fun as hell. When the combat does work right (ranged comabt) it can feel exhilarating. Dashing around and conserving your energy feels cool and fluid, though not quite on par with recent mecha game Project NIMBUS (Though that seems to draw much more of an anime inspiration, i.e. Gundam and Ace Combat, whereas this is more armored core meets, battletech, meets gundam If that makes any sense.)
Not a Pro, Not a Con:
-Graphics.
Sometimes the game looks good, but that is really the best I can give it. Mecha have some weird edges and textures sometimes and the trail effects, as well as backdrtops in space, feel a bit dated. Though this could change as the game is in Early Access.
Cons:
-A lot of the misssions feel 'samey' at the start, and you will have to grind a bit to get better upgrades. A lot of: Go here kill this wave of enemies, scan this thing, analyze this thing, fly to new coordinates in level, repeat. Sometimes capped with a boss or ship encounter. It begins to feel stale fairly quickly.
-The melee combat, though unique, is somewhat of a misstep. Either you get this really strange "stop right here, wait for the enemy to run into you, so you can do a very stale finisher animation. The intent is cool, the execution, not so much. Also, when you are fighting another Mech in melee combat, it locks you together into a weird rock, paper, scissors game of attacking, blocking, or dodging without the ability to disengage or flank aside from strafing side-to-side. Plus some of these fights can be purely cheesed if you can catch the enemy in a stagger, which unfortunately also works for the AI. I've had just as many fights where I killed a Mech in close combat without them even getting a chance to swing, and they have done the same to me.
-Sometimes the lock on is a real issue and messes with the camera, or flat outt refuses to work.
This game may be early access but I think it's worth the price of admission! You get to create your own mecha similiar to Gundam and go out and kill things :D there are sooooooo many cool melee weapons to choose from and fighting another mecha is insanely fun! Most the time you'll be taking on little ships which you can either just blow up or take their health down enough to do one of the few awesome kill animations, then sometimes they'll throw in another mecha to battle you. In that case you can fight from afar or move in close for a one on one sword battle! This game is seriously fun, I highly suggest you pick it up if you're a fan of mechs and/or Japanese mecha anime!
Gundam-Fans aufgepasst!
Dies ist genau das Spiel was ihr sucht.
Ihr sucht euch am Anfang eure Mech-Klasse aus und schon könnt ihr loslegen mit dem abscheißen, wegbomben oder zerschnetzeln der gegnerischen Raumschiffe bzw Mechs. zerschnetzeln? Ja, Raumschiffe könnt ihr mit einem Finisher erledigen, wenn die HP down ist und andere Mechs könnt ihr in den Nahkampf zwingen und somit gibts Schwertkampf-Action.
Nach den Missionen könnt ihr euren Mech nach Belieben aufwerten und individualisieren.
Für mich hat das Game von Anfang an viel Spaß gemacht. Leider bringt das Spiel meinen Grafik-Treiber zum Absturz (ja es ist der aktuellste) und selbst nach Kontakt mit dem Entwickler gab es keine Lösung.
Fazit: Ich empfehle dieses Spiel jedem der etwas mit Mechs bzw Gundam (das bekannteste Franchise mit solchen Mechs) anfangen kann. Ich hoffe natürlich das der Fehler noch gefunden wird und ich es auch genießen kann.
Игра как была УГ, так им и осталась. Никакой механики, просто зажимаешь 2 кнопки мышки и робот всё делает себя. Тебя окружает толпа врагов, которая просто мясо и зачастую ничего не может тебе сделать. Все миссии на одно лицо — добраться до точки, просканировать какую-нибудь шнягу, взломать какую-нибудь хрень, убить всех. Была, правда, парочка интересных моментов — потому что они были дисбалансными и приходилось выкручиваться, чтобы добиться своего. Но это просто искорки во мраке уныния. А как безобразно перемещаются юниты... Как рыбки в аквариуме, только космические корабли или роботы. Точно так же хаотично, рядом друг с другом, то плавно, то дерганно, и совершенно бессмысленно. Вообще, трудно назвать, что в этой игре радует... Потому что дизайн не красивый, меню куцое, навигация по UI безобразная. Авторы настолько слепо любят своё вырождение дизайна, что считают необходимым навязывать пользователям просматривать сюжетные ролики при каждом запуске (на подгрузку уходит время). Я много списывался с разработчиками по этой теме, но они упрямы и глухи — только отвечают: «Все кат-сцены пропускаемы, дважды нажмите пробел и будет вам счатье», — только вот двойным пробелом не вернуть потерянного времени на подрузку ваших никому ненужных роликов. Сюжет тоже банален и уныл. А еще очень раздражают диалоги в самой игре: экран замораживается и тебя заставляют слушать/читать всякую банальщину. Короче, всё, не хочу на этот кусок тратить своего времени, ни секунды.
This game is almost good but there just isnt enough there yet. It is worth keeping an eye on for future updates though.
I have never rated a game on steam, but this one is an exception, an amazing game to say the least,
true it may be a bit lacking behind bigger names in the mech genre such as "gundam" "titanfall" and others.
but this game deserves a chance and i believe in the studio developing it.
i truly think this game can best the top mechs games out there.

Эффектный и затягивающий аркадный экшн. Простенькая графика и кажущаяся топорность с лихвой компенсируется взрывной динамикой, с вменяемым вкраплением РПГ элементов.
Плюсы:
- РПГ составляющая: в меру возможностей и для модернизации меха запчастями, и для исследований (пассивные способности, вроде резистов, или чертежи уникальных гаджетов), есть возможность тонкой, ситуативной конфигурации меха
- Саудтрек: за все время игры не утомил ни разу, только позитиные эмоции
- Геймплей: просто и гениально - вокруг взрывы, ошметки кораблей, и Вы в центре всего этого безумия
Минусы:
- Гринд: в определенный момент времени встает вопрос катастрофической нехватики ресурсов. Из способов решения только цикличное и монотонное прохождения испытаний
- Сложность: меняется рывками от миссии к миссии
- Симуляция: режим как бы полезный, но нарочитая квадратность отрисовки порой напрягает
Итого: игра однозначно стоит того, чтобы как минимум ознакомиться, а дальше каждый решит для себя сам. С учетом раннего доступа, контента достаточно много, реиграбельность высокая. Мех4ever!

For $15 this game has more going for it than most games that are $60.
Only a quarter of the content is here and its already worth the price.
Im not particularly into robot fights or space ship battles but if feels like the older ps2 mech games I was playing when I was younger. Kinda gritty and all about the robots as opposed to the story.
ITs a nice return to mech games for me and I hope there are more like this in the future.
I would love to see coop later in the games development as I can see it being a huge opportunity.
Its similar to older gundom games and probably better in some aspects.

As of right now, I somewhat feel cheated. the controls were lack luster, movement always felt sluggish and came down to holding up your shield till the mooks quit shooting at you then spam your heavy weapon, the variance between the three mechs is how long you hold your shield up. but here what I think in general areas
STORY
I did not have the desire to play two or three missions because of how poor the controls were and how choppy the game play felt, So I'll say nothing on the story.
CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
Now I understand that this game is still currently early access and I don't expect to see too much, but I would like to know what the Game Devs were thinking.
now take as a disclaimer I did not play too deeply into the game because of many issues I had with it
you do not have may custimization options, the most customization you get is your sword and shield, I think thier were five options between each category, the rest was just upgraded versions of those five same models. for your other options the best you get is the color your mech is. there are no apperance options for your mech and eventually it all becomes a mission of "okay what are the best stats for this?" there are no armor pieces that legitamately make you think "do I want to remove this peice for the slightly better armor on this one?"
As for weapons, as I stated, the only one you get to change is the sword, you will always have the dual cannon behind you and the twin gattling guns, maybe laser guns later on but still lacks in actal ability to switch out weapons and how many you actaully can have, was very limiting and didn't draw me in to actually explore the game.
GAMEPLAY
Choppy, movement felt lazy, this is the problem I ran into multiple times

in the gameing age we are in one would think that as soon as the mission to save this ship was given it would be under attack so that when you boost over there you are legitamatly saving the ship or there is a frantic rush to get to it but instead its a leasurely jog to the next mission point then you kill things, it destroys the illusion of being in a battle and/or desprate situation.
The aiming kinda works like armored core, very easy to actually aim, big weapon has longer distance smaller hit box, small weapons, big hit box low range, issue being that your camera is slow its difficult to keep the mooks in target area, another issue is if you use the small weapon you will drain your energy taking it down, big weapon you have to aim better but you take them down a lot faster.
but because you are often outmatched, it becomes a game of <shield> <pop one with the big guns><Get exicution to save health><shield><pop one with the big guns> over and over, god forbid they actaully decide to flank you.
PC ADVANCEMENT
Okay PC advancement is not too bad, research this for better armor, get this for laser weapons, here for magnetic. but the lack of weapon options makes researching some stuff pointlessso you spend everything on armor and energy capacity
and there is a lot to research. so you improve very slowly.
FINAL NOTES
This game has a lot of potential, its worth keeping an eye on for now, but unless some things are changed I can't recommend this game.
POSSIBLE FIXES/WOULD LIKE TO SEE
if this is a game that is suppose to be a Gundam game in everything but title and anime weirdness, give us a lot of mech customization, give us the ability to make our mech look like the Paladin from Sunrider or Red 5 from Majestic Prince, or take a page from Break Arts 2, just not a racing game. I would also like to see many more weapon options and avilability to see more weapons on a mech. you want eight heavy cannons? sure. you want three laser arrays? go ahead. you want to be purely melee? you are suicidal, but why not.
I would also like to see an actual level up system, rather than using money to upgrade the mech make it the skill of the person behind it, use research and money all for the new weapons and special abilitiees for the mech. I.E Energy Shields, Stealth Cloaks, Heavy Laser Arrays, Ect.
as for the kill animations, against fighters why are they not an instant option? the lightly armored space tin cans are more of an annoyance than anything. for a mech three times their size with a sword, it should be able to make short work of them. against the bigger ships, I can see why they can't be insta killed so they can stay the same.
now one big change I would like is ammo stores for slug weapons, yes you have eight heavy cannons but you only eight rounds? Oops. although they should take less to fire you have a new issue to manage. Do you sacrifice two of them for expanded ammo storage or do you switch you tactics?
I feel this is what the game has failed to deliver, and if they make the mech much more customizable they would steal the market, because the mech games now don't allow for a personalized game style, which is kind of the point of mech games. if I have a giant robot death machine, I want it to look cool while doing it and I want it to be one I put my sweat and tears into. many mech games have fallen into the the Titanfall trap, "we have these really cool mechs each with unique abilities." "Can't I build my own?" "why would you want to you have these four mechs every one can play!"
but right now not worth the money
トドメ攻撃やトドメ後の見得切りはロボット作品っぽくて良い。各パーツを強化しカラーリングしてロボットをカスタマイズできるのも楽しい。
だがゲーム部分は敵戦闘機をひたすら撃つのみで、剣も敵ロボとの一騎打ちでしか使えず巨大ロボットで戦っている！感は薄い。結構脆いのもあって巨大ロボットというよりは人型の戦闘機みたいな感じ。
一騎打ちの鍔迫り合いのマウス移動が遅すぎてイライラし、サーチとハッキングの場所が分かりにくくてイライラし、時間制限にイライラし、時間制限＋サーチのダブルコンボでストレスマックスに。戦闘1→ハッキング→戦闘2でやられると戦闘1からやり直しになるチェックポイント間隔の長さもダルい。
剣攻撃と盾構えながらの攻撃くらいは出来たらいいのになぁ。
If you are wondering what this game is about, think it as a melee-enabled form of Project Nimbus, except you get less weapons, less Japanese Anime, has pacing more like Strike Suit Zero and lacks even voice actings but more awesomeness.
Pros:
1. Fairly low requirements. Now this isn't the type of game that can be run smoothly on a toaster, but at least the requirements aren't monster-like as long as you aren't running on super high resolution or something.
2. Execution is sheer awesome. When the enemy is weakened enough you can execute them, similar to how you can execute enemies in For Honor and Mortal Kombat, although unfortunatey this only applies to jets/crafts instead of enemy robots (you can dice them when they are about to die in a melee fight but it's very limited). You either punch a giant hole or ramshipping them, rip them to shreds with your shields, puncture them with your sword, and even just karate kick a poor sod coming by which is just pure awesome.
3. Melee is possible in the form of sword-parrying. Unlike Nimbus which you rush towards the enemy and try to dice them with the sword (which is almost impossible given the speed of the game), you do sword-parrying with your enemy in a fashion similar to For Honor. Not the best system you can imagine but the fights are quite engaging.
4. Finally some functional modifications that are seen stat- and aesthetic-wise. While it also exists one way another in other mech games this one by far is the most significant you can get from Steam games (such as the sword and shield designs are highly visible and varying).
Things that warrant some changes:
1. Mission objectives unclear. Even with the green tag locating your mission zone, finding something as small as a hatch door with a weak blink in a vast space is a sore, not to mention the sheer scale of the buildings. Maybe if the blink is a bit more obvious and at least is marked in the UI it would be easier to locate. Some of the hatch doors took me minutes to find when it is supposed to be done quickly.
Cons:
1. I have some problems with the overall designs with the robots. The speedy type doesn't resemble much of a speedy type, and the armoured type ironically doesn't look like as if it has the thickest armor of all. They look like a giant framework with limited armour overall, which is kinda meh, and the headgear isn't the best you can imagine for a giant robot even they can be changed.
2. Controls are kinda wonky. Sometimes they somehow feels sorta glitchy at times, but overall not a huge problem.
3. Storyboard is meh-ish and no voice acting even with the price tag. Although currently most mech games have meh-ish storyboards, this one is a bit on the shorter edge. The story is nothing special, and lacked VAs apart from a narration dude and the AI voice declaring your mission's success or not.
4. Bad music choice. By far there aren't much music that can be played by the game (which again is the shortcomings of this game compared to others, in comparison Strike Suit Zero has a massive amount of awesome music while Project Nimbus also got good composers) and personally I am not a big fan of rock so it really doesn't kick, but I guess it's because the game is still in their development stages.
5. Animation is slightly wonky but again it's a minor problem. Not expecting Nier-Automata levels of fluid but can be better.
Should you buy the game?
-Yes; Even with the flaws (which you can expect from EA games) the game is still well enough polished, the game feels quite well and is more than enough badass as hell.
As an avid player of mecha titles... This had so much potential but executed it so, so very poorly.
Pros:
-The texture and model work are exceptional for an indie game. I was finding myself impressed with the ships, mostly.
-A variety of customization options, ranging from base mech types to research queues and categories for replacement parts at various joints. The customization aspect of the frame design reminded me of Armored Core, but a little more simplified (which is fine here.)
Cons:
-The camera is very jittery. The frames are smooth, it's not eating up resources, but it's as if the camera simply can't keep up with your mech (even at base speeds), which causes it to frequently (every .5s or so) skip forward to catch up. This problem also applies to camera rotation while stationary, which led to nothing but motion sickness and a nigh-impossible aiming system. To elaborate on the latter, camera jitters would cause your reticle to jump off the target. Oddly enough, it behaved just fine the first time I alt-tabbed, then became a permenant part of the game after that one mission was complete.
-The sound design is sub-par. I feel like I'm playing an early 90s title where they'd loop a small sound clip for weapons and not bother to produce pitch variance or smoothing. The end result produces clipping on your primary weapons, which just gives me a headache.
-The execution sequences are just awkward. They begin as a control prompt, which will only accept input while the target is within your reticle. (See above comment regarding usability for that.) Once triggered, the player teleports over a great distance for a cutscene in melee range. Though these are amusing to watch the first two or three times, it took me out of the game so much that I just didn't want to use it. If you play through the training sequence, there's one scene in particular that's just excessively long and leaving me wanting to get up for a drink in hopes it'll be done by the time I get back. I was not able to get far enough into the campaign to see if this shows up again. (Bailed due to nausea as a result of the camera. See point one of Cons.)
-The data gathering/hacking has the same awkwardness as the execution sequences, prompt, cutscene et all. Unlike hostile targets however, these do not seem to show up on your radar. I wandered around for at least three minutes in training before I figured out there were three vastly different data points right next to each other. The hacking sequence isn't terribly obvious as to how it works and definitely has an RNG-per-second mechanic applied to it, which is frustrating to someone who enjoys hacking/cracking/picking mechanics of other games.
I wanted to like this. I really did. But there's just so much wrong with it that I can't bring myself to start mission two.

Ok je pense qu'après avoir fait le tour du jeu il faut que je donne mon avis sur ce jeu car il mérite d'avoir minimum dix fois le nombre joueurs qu'il a actuellement ( même si le côté petite commu est super sympa ). Je vais tacher de rester simple et de donner envie a tout les fans du genre de foncer sur ce petit bijoux. Premièrement, l'histoire, bien qu'elle soit classique pour un jeu dans un univers futuriste avec des méchs, est super : une histoire simple mais efficace en utilisant des codes qui décidemment ne s'épuiseront jamais. Deuxièmement le gameplay est génial dans le sens où l'on ressent ce sentiment de puissance quand on pilote son mech et ça c'est essentiel. D'ailleurs parlons en de ce côté mech personnalisable. Bien qu'il ne batte pas un rpg en terme de possibilité de customisation, on reste sur du très bon si en plus on prend en compte que notre mech aura des partie de corps de plus en plus massives rendant ce sentiment de puissance dont j'ai déjà parlé. Enfin niveau durée de vie je ne peut encore m'exprimer car le mode histoire n'est pas encore fini ( early acces oblige ) mais on a déjà de quoi nous faire plaisir et pour les plus hardcores des joueurs, ils peuvent se doser sur le mode survival qui teste réellement votre skill en situation de plus en plus désespéré mais qui en contrepartie emplira le joueur d'une immense joie lorsqu'il verra son peudo apparaître en haut des la liste des meilleurs joueurs.
En conclusion je n'ai que deux chose à dire : merci aux devs d'être autant à l'écoute de la communauté et de créer un véritable rêve de gosse et pour vous qui n'avait pas encore le jeu foncez l'acheter et prenez part à la guerre contre les zatronian !
Ok, now i had the time to enjoy this game i'll make a review because this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game deserves it and it deserve to be more known. I'll try to make it simple for all the fans of the mechs genre. First of all, the story is simple and got the classic plot of mechs series but the devs did a good job to make it good and it's really enjoyable. Secondly, the gameplay is fun, like really really fun and this is like this because when you play you feel the power of the mech and that's very important for these games. The mech itself doesn't look that good when you start the game for the first time but at the moment you customize it you start to understand that you can do some great suit by picking the parts you like and as you go through the story your mechs is getting more and more badass ( that's a good point ). For the question about the time you'll spend on this game i can't answer now because the game is in early access but it already gives some great content for the story and the survival mode add a lot of replayability ( and it also make you test your limits to see if you can be on the leaderboard and that's quite challenging ). Finally i'd like to thank the devs that are making true a childs' dream and for listening a lot to the players and I'd recommend you to buy this great game if that's not already the case ( congratulation you succeed to read a review that i'm sure is full of language errors ^^ btw have a nice day ).
首先要说的一点，没有汉化，任务和剧情只能靠自己脑补。游戏本身的主要玩法还是可以的，也有可以解锁的很多元素，可以给机甲增加涂装，画面看的还算是精致，主要以空战为主。近战和处决攻击做的很僵硬，有点蠢。存在游戏难度，无双的可能性不大，我是说如果你没有全解锁打普通难度的话。有的任务设计非常愚蠢，扎心，让你在一个区域内搜索某个目标。目标有时候体积非常小，仅仅能靠肉眼识别的微小闪光。在宇宙这种无方位环境搜索头都是大的。真想把任务设计人拉出来捶一顿。

If you love mech games, this is THE mech game. Yes, for you fans of Armored Core, Zone of the Enders, various Gundam titles, et al.
It is the ONLY mech game I've seen really try to blend fast flying and shooting with melee combat and finishers, and it succeeds.
The controls are still a bit clunky, and the animations need a bit of work, but this is an early version of the game afterall. Those things aside, it is clear that this TWO-MAN TEAM is pulling out all the stops to make this a passion project for both themselves and fans of the genre. I cannot express how nicely this game is coming together, and I really hope this vision is realized.
It deserves every bit of praise. I cannot wait to see the finished product!

vale a pena pra quem gosta do gênero e também pra quem gosta de um ótimo jogo de tiro em terceira pessoa.

This game is pretty fun. I am enjoying the mobile suit like combat. I think my main issue with the game is i wish the controls didnt force an up and down but allowed 3d combat so that i could be upside down.

Es muy interesante, creo que seria bueno que se pudiera usar tambien la espada en todo momento. Ademas las cinematicas deberian estar en tiempo real y no solo una simple cinematica. Comprendo que como tal vez es acceso anticipado no se puede ver otros tipos de robots, pero por sea caso seria bueno un arsenal de por lo menos 15 robots. tambien por lo que entendi de la historia no lo podemos poner nombre a nuestro protaginista. Personalmente me gustaria un character generator al que le pueda poner nombre. This is a good game if you like giant mechs. Execution plays a huge part in this game since it will restore a lot of health and energy. The combat is fun and good, but when the mission involves finding something things becomes kind of painful since it's no that easy to find the objective especially when you are searching for clues. Coop campaign would be awesome if it's possible.
The Game Presents itself beautifully the executions look cool enough but they can take you out of the game the gameplay itself leaves much to be desired theres no full range of motion not even in space if you want to flip upside down to get a better look of whats behinnd you well too bad. and on that note nothing feels truly powerful in the game the guns and lasers you fire just sorta happen it doesnt really feel like you sent a barrage of missles or a volley of bullets at your enemy the only good part of the combat i can find is the sword fighting with other war techs which is choppy at times but manages to feel cool in some instances i really wanted to give this game a chance it looked amazing and i LOVE mechs but over all i was dissappointed i hope to see this game get better in the future but as for now its a little stale and boring its almost nothing like the videos and pictures on the site would like you to believe go on youtube and do your reasearch first check out some videos before you spend your money on this.

From what I have played this game is off to a good start, the control of the mechs feel a bit stiff particularly when it comes to dodging machine gun fire, although maybe i just suck at the game....The music is good and the game looks great and runs well. Really hope they add more parts and colours for the customization too.
As far as I know there are 12 missions so far with more being added (up to 40 as the game gets further into development) which are replayable via a simulation (If you are like me and prefer a more realistic look instead of that Tron lookalike mode check options for realistic simulation mode).
There is a survival mode which only has one stage at the moment which gives rewards evey 5 waves.
For the price of $14.99 I would say it is worth it especially with more content to come.
I'll be honest played about ruftly an hour had me blown away.

- CUSTOMIZATION BABY!!! haven't seen this type of mecha customization in a while.
-R&D section adds more fun and challnege
My only drawback is the hitbox when it comes to close combat battle either is my low level War tech or its a glitch took me about a few tries to beat another war tech on my 2nd mission. Hope they fix it soon. Other than that FULL SPEED AHEAD!!! hope to see more of the game as I progress.
I'll be honest, I only played the basic training and the first mission but that was honestly all I needed to know this is unfortunately not for me.
I'm an avid consumer of Japanese mech style games and while War Tech Fighters tonally and aesthetically hits notes that resonate with that genre it ultimately does not feel like "one of those". Controls are sluggish, enemies move slowly and seemingly aimlessly around the map and all the while the game pumps the fastest paced music it can find at you, but nothing about it feels fast.
When the game first opens up you're offered a choice, fast and light, balanced or heavy and defensive. Seeing as being scrappy is generally the most fun way to play most of these games I went with the fast one, thinking I would be dodging between attacks and then gracefully following up with flanking shots and rapid melee attacks. This made it all the more disappointing to finish basic training and find there is no real way to dodge, or move quickly at all save for your forward boost for travelling.
Combat boils down to holding your shield up for as long as the enemies decide to sit in front of you holding their triggers down, making sure to keep your reticle on them so the game can auto-launch missiles at them then during the brief moments the enemies inexplicibly decide to give their trigger fingers a break, holding yours down. Rinse and repeat until the enemy is dead.
Maybe later levels get more challenging, perhaps you need to use ally commands to strategically manage targets being attacked in different places. Unfortunately, none of that sounds interesting in a mech game where your mech cannot even move sideways with any kind of expediency.
I had really high hopes for War Tech Fighters, unfortunately the problems I myself have with the game are not problems I expect to change during an early access period, the game is perfectly playable, if anything it seems remarkably well made, the developers are doing an exemplary job of an early access launch, you rarely see the production and polish here in early access titles, but I don't expect the game to be any less boring to me at launch and that's a shame.
If you like mechs and want to shoot space ships, you could certainly do a lot worse than War Tech Fighters for the price, if you want to do it at silly speeds in grand anime fashion however you're in the wrong place.
