This game does deliver an engaging action adventure, but it curtails its potential at every turn, literally. It's death from a thousand paper cuts.

The story and world-building are basically strong but they are riddled with gaps. You are expected to care about the characters but are given virtually no reason to feel anything at all about them. Even the protagonist's motivations are unclear.

The game is brutally linear. On the one hand it encourages you to explore and find the collectibles, but open the wrong door and you can't return to previous area. You'll find yourself constantly guessing which way is the "right" way in order to make sure you go to the "wrong" ways first. Many times I guessed incorrectly and missed a collectible that I knew I could get. It's not a fatal flaw, but it sure is annoying.

There's a lot of focus on combat, and while there are some cool tactical mechanics, the controls make the experience quite unpleasant. The camera does not cooperate and actions are unbearably unresponsive. There were many times in which I very explicitly pressed the button to heal but instead Haroona decided to turn invisible, completely derailing my plans and plunging me into chaos. I would groan every time I encountered enemies.

The presentation is very uneven. There are some beautiful scenes, but the characters and their animations are quite janky. Performance is all over the place and it's challenging to dial in settings that would result in a smooth framerate.

There's potential here and I think this game could have been good with more effort put into story and character development, more playtesting of its combat and exploration, and more effort put in polishing the presentation. As it stands it's more frustrating than fun.

This game it is bad in so many ways. Game crashed 8 times in nearly 4 hours of gameplay. The story is not bad, mechanics are mid, combat is mid to bad, main character looks horrible ( nothing like Anya ).I just give up. I do not know what else to say. If you really want to try it, get it on a huge discount but not the full price.

que pena que los mas haters hayan hechado por tierra un juego como este....no es un juegazo, pero es un buen juego...buenos graficos, si de principios de ps5 pero tiene algunos escenarios que son preciosos...a este juego solo le sobra una cosa...la protagonista...por lo que sea les ha quedado como el culo...pero no porque tenga malas animaciones ni malas fisicas, es que la cara y la falta total de animaciones faciales le hacen ser horrorosamente fea, y coño la actriz que ha dado su imagen, nuestra queridisima jenefer no es asi de fea ni de lejos...por lo demas si te gustan las aventuras tipo tomb raider o uncharted...y pasas un poco del aspecto de la prota este juego te encantara, ahh y con un excelso doblaje al castellano.

C'est difficile de mettre une évaluation positive sur ce jeu, entre les graphismes datés (mais vraiment) et les personnages nuls à commencer par Haroona, l'héroïne.
J'ai quand même insister malgré mon envie de lâcher très vite et un seul personnage est apparu sympathique, bien écrit et qui lâche quelques remarques utiles, c'est Luther.
La VF est un autre point positif, tout comme la possibilité de prendre "possession" des ennemis.

This game has a lot of things I love, and a few things I can appreciate why people get frustrated at, but I didn't understand why a larger publisher would let this game completely drop instead of giving it a proper chance. So my investigation lead me down a rabbit hole.... of two things.

The first thing I would point to is there seemed to be a group of people actively looking to say it's a terrible game - and I don't mean people formed an opinion of it and disliked it, I mean people being so petty they needed to demean people into oblivion if they said they liked it. Even in some reviews there is no cohesion about complaints, one person will say it's a repetitive game in combat, the next will ask why is there boss fights at all??? The game is too repetitive? Yet gamers will watch the same LoL and Fortnite map for years.
You have the same combat encounters? Yet you can choose how to approach combat, if you do the same things in combat that's on you. Unfortunately, there will always be toxic people in any group, so I guess it's up to you to form your own opinion outside of that voice.

The second thing I would point to is a second voice in the gaming community, the people out there who are foaming at the mouth and bashing their fists onto tables of meeting rooms and HR offices saying ''we need more representation in gaming!!" This game is by no means woke, or leaning to a certain crowd of people, but it does tick a few boxes for that crowd who want to tear down other games and say they don't represent a certain demographic, but you don't show up for a female, indian, fully armored and clothed protagonist??? Isn't that what you all ordered??? And no-one brought it??? SHAME. SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME on you who cannot live up to your own convictions.

Getting back to Unknown 9, I loved this game, minus some imperfections (◕‿◕)
A lot of psychic, jedi styled moves along with different means of combat; jumping into bodies of enemies to preform their signature attack on others, pushing people off cliffs, going invisible and stealth killing suckers, you can PARRY IT, lure people out of ripple (like throwing a rock made of magic), and the ability later in the game to [spoiler] use magic to AOE and beat people up at a distance using the fold [/spoiler].
I liked the story. All of the characters are balanced and likable.
They add enemy types to keep combat interesting through the game.
There are some beautiful environments and detailed areas in this game, unfortunately, some of the best are in the last parts of the game!!
No crashes, no game-breaking glitches, no fails to load, all skills worked for me, the game runs, cooll!!!!

Here are some silly/okayish things about the game; ಥ‿ಥ
You can go invisible infront of someone, run around behind them, and stealth kill them because they think you're missing. You will go out from being invisible and someone will spot you and run up to you, you can do the same thing to them - go invisible to circle around and kill them. You can almost rinse and repeat this in some encounters.
Sometimes your companions won't shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. Sometimes they are behind you and still calling out ''hey catch up''.
The graphics are dated. I liked it enough to keep playing, but when you look at games like Kena or Clair Obscur.... damn.
When Haroona is particularly strong, there is part of the story she is able to be captured and jailed???
Why do you show some of the most interesting parts of Haroona at the end of the game? Haroona? I hardly even knew her!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things I dislike; ୧(๑•̀ᗝ•́)૭
Your companions can be dumb as hell. I had Luther stand in place taking about 100 shots and not moving. Then for most encounters he is useless, crouches behind a rock, or shoots one person and says ''I could have used your help out there''.
Some encounters are dumb and frustrating, like being dogpiled a few times by about 10 enemies when half of Haroona's abilities are stealth orientated - and enemies can still lock onto you. If they have started an attack animation, they can still hit you or shoot at you.
There are glitches for a certain enemy I will call the electric bat lady, where at times she will become unkillable, but if you run out of range of her she will reset.

TLDR: play it and make up your own mind, it's a very generous price for a good game.
Also play Metal Eden, Sable and Hellblade 2.

Nice premise, but horribly broken on PC.
Cloak (C) randomly stops working (have to exit and reload game).
Stealth Takedown (E) randomly stops working.
Enemies randomly stop... everything. Just stand there, not moving or attacking (they still spit them one-liners tho).

I love the concept but the bugs ruin the gameplay enough that I requested a refund.

What is there to say?

The game is pretty bad. Characters are bland, story is meh, the setting could've been cool, but they did nothing with it, animations are horrible, graphics are nothing to look at.

The combat is god awful, I don't even know how to describe it. Dodging is a hit or miss if it's going to work or not, you get stuck on the tiniest things that will just make you frustrated. A tip for those that usually play on hardest difficulties, you won't feel any accomplishment for finishing this game on a harder difficulty, play on the easiest/normal difficulty, you won't even get any achievements for difficulties anyway.

It feels as if they've asked a community on what they'd like and they've said a bunch of collectibles. There's a ♥♥♥♥ ton of collectibles, just an unnecessary amount of collectibles.

If you get it for free or just for a few bucks, I guess it's game you can finish in a week of slow gaming, but you'll feel you've gained nothing from it.

Very nice game, combat is good, graphics are good, story is enjoyable (lots of cutscenes), PC controls are good. Classic lineair action & stealth combat game. A relief from these large open-world games. Player character is well done. Stutters quite a bit but disabling hyperthreading in my bios worked for me. Deserves more than a mixed rating IIMHO. If you like Echoes of the End, you probably also like this. Reminded me a bit about it.

Ci sono bug sull'interfaccia che in un paio di occasioni mi ha costretto a chiudere il gioco. O que falar sobre Unknown 9: Awakening?
Tentou ser uma espécia de Tomb Raider com misticismo. A proposta do jogo foi maravilhosa, mas o seu desenvolvimento, a construção do roteiro, a jogabilidade, a otimização dos gráficos foram péssimas.
Foi um jogo divertido, a apresentação sobre o "Umbral", a implementação sobre a "gnose", a composição dos personagens de forma diversificada, e a implementação de uma protagonista de origem indiana foi super interessante, e não pareceu apelar para qualquer tipo de agenda, mas continuou pecando na construção de tudo isso.
Descobri que existe novels, quadrinhos e outras mídias relacionados aos "9 desconhecidos", mas se o roteiro for fraco como no jogo, acredito que seria uma perda de tempo ir atrás desse conteúdo.

I'm having trouble figuring out what all the hate is for this game. I can completely understand based on pricing if that's what you don't like. This game is NOT worth more than $20. Its at best an AA title. I've just finished the first chapter and so far I've not had any issues. I will come back and update my review once i finish the game and I'll be honest with my take, which is my opinion. So far though the game is not terrible. Finally finished the game. It definetly felt like it was rushed and not complete. Some cut scenes didnt make sense and others felt like they skipped parts. Over all the game was okay though. I liked the ideas for combat although I wish it could have been expanded on some but not bad. Its to bad the company behind this rushed the gun and thought they had some IP they could milk long term. they should have made sure this was well done and then see how it sells.. I'd say its worth $20..

A diamond buried by its publisher, from someone who actually finished it

I played this game from start to finish, and I'm frustrated. Not at the game, but at how it was handled and how it's been reviewed by people who clearly didn't give it a fair chance.

The gameplay is not repetitive

I keep seeing this complaint and I don't understand it. This is a combat-focused action-adventure game with progression. You unlock new skills, pull off better combinations, and grow stronger as you go. How is that any different from Tomb Raider or any other game in the genre? The Stepping mechanic lets you jump from body to body mid-combat to control enemies, adding a strategic layer that very few games even attempt. It kept things fresh the entire way through. On top of that, there are puzzles to break up the action and exploration across varied locations. It's not just "fight, fight, fight."

And it's actually challenging. This wasn't some mindless button masher. I had to think, adapt, and learn the systems.

The story and presentation are genuinely impressive

For a AA game, I was blown away. The story is beautiful. It's a revenge tale with deep lore about the Fold, the Unknown 9, secret societies, and Quaestors with supernatural abilities. Anya Chalotra's performance as Haroona was on point. The voice acting across the board was solid, and the world-building kept me invested throughout. This clearly wasn't a low-effort cash grab. People put real work into this.

The visuals are stunning

The graphics were amazing. The game overall was beautiful and well done. Visually, it looked impressive for a AA title. The environments, the character models, the effects when using Fold abilities. It all came together to create something that punched well above its budget.

Yes, there are bugs

I'm not going to pretend it's flawless. Screen tearing happens regardless of resolution settings. Turn on VSync and the character gets stuck or physics break. Texture streaming fails sometimes, turning sections of rocks and geometry pitch black. Play for a couple hours and input lag creeps in. I'd hit a button and the action wouldn't register for one to two seconds. On a high-end PC with an RTX 5080, this shouldn't be happening. These are real issues that needed more polish.

But the real problem is Bandai Namco

Let's be clear about something: Bandai Namco bought Reflector Entertainment in 2020. They owned the studio. This wasn't some third-party publishing deal gone sideways. They controlled the budget, the timeline, the release date, and the marketing spend. Every bad decision was theirs.

They released a brand new IP with virtually zero marketing into October 2024, the most competitive month in years. Unknown 9 launched against Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. What did they expect?

They funded an entire transmedia universe. Books, podcasts, comics, all building toward this game as the flagship product. Then they torpedoed it with a suicide release window and no promotional push. They wasted their own investment.

When it inevitably underperformed, Bandai Namco's response was to lay off 18% of Reflector Entertainment's staff within a month and cancel all planned sequels. No patches to fix the issues. No post-launch support. Just abandon ship. They created a self-fulfilling prophecy: set the game up to fail, then used the failure to justify killing it.

The devs took the fall for executive incompetence. People lost their jobs because suits made bad calls. That's the reality here.

A note on the reviews

Only 45% of players even completed the first chapter. The game takes around 30 hours to finish if you're doing some exploring, and a lot of these reviews are from people with way less than that. Hard to take a review seriously when they didn't even see what the game has to offer.

Final verdict

If you can grab this on sale and tolerate some technical issues, please give this game a chance. There's a genuinely good game here that I loved. The studio put a lot of hard work into this and I think the best way to honor that is to say it's really not as bad as people are making it out to be. The developers deserved better. The game deserved better. Give it a shot.

Unknown 9: Awakening ist leider eine große Enttäuschung. Das Spiel wirkt unfertig und schlecht umgesetzt. Die Story ist verwirrend und schafft es nicht, den Spieler wirklich zu fesseln oder emotional mitzunehmen. Viele Dialoge fühlen sich langweilig und unnötig an.

Interesting game with some unique ideas, clunky combat does weigh on you after a while and the repetitive encounters with start to ware on you by the end. The game overall is really driven by the story and mainly the mystery as the characters are very thinly fleshed out. I did enjoy it overall and would give a 6.5 out of 10. I do wish they had made enough for a sequel but I know they is no chance of one. If you wish to try this buy it on sale and try something unique but clunky but clearly made with love.

Aber warum? Vorab: Das hier wird ein wenig länger, weil ich denke, dass ich hier ein wenig ausholen muss. Bisschen so wie damals in der Schule nach einem Vortrag.

Damit du aber nicht alles lesen musst, einmal in kurz:

Du willst jetzt aber mehr ins Details lesen? Niemand hält dich davon ab.

[h2] Eine mystische Welt voller Abenteuer [/h2]

Es besitzt ein wenig Fantasy, ein Hauch von Steampunk und eine uralte - scheinbar - vergessene Zivilisation, um die sich alles zu drehen scheint. Es ist eine Hook, die schnell Spannung verspricht. Und ja, spannend ist es. Wer Bücher liest, wird verstehen, was ich mit meinen folgenden Zeilen meine.

Mit 16 Stunden Spielzeit (shame on me, ich habe für den finalen Bosskampf viel zu lange gebraucht), ist es definitiv kein langamtiges Spiel. Aber ich habe auch viele Sammelobjekte übersehen, die es in der Spielwelt zu finden gab. Es gleicht eher einer Novelle: die ein Roman hätte werden können. Mit ein bisschen mehr Zeit; oder Budget.

Es sei gesagt, dass die Dialoge in diesem Spiel näher an der Realität dran sind, als man vielleicht erstmal denkt. Sie sind deep und bedeutungsschwanger. Nicht alles, was richtig erscheint, ist richtig. Nicht jeder Antagonist in ein Antagonist. Das hat mich beim Spielen zeitweise nachdenklich gestimmt. Denn die Protagonistin ist naiv. Wir durchleben eine Heldenreise nach Musterbuch. Was nichts Schlechtes bedeuten muss. Aber wenig Innovation mit sich bringt und man als Spieler sich nur schwer mit ihr identifizieren kann. Es gleicht einem Verfolgend statt einem richtigen Miterleben.

Haroona ist eine junge Frau, die durch den Bruch sehen kann und damit mit einer Gabe gesegnet ist, die die Welt zerstören aber auch zeitgleich retten kann. Klingt erstmal nicht schlecht. Der Spieler bekommt dadurch die Möglichkeit in eine ganz neue Kampfmechanik einzutauchen, die eher etwas passiv wirkt. Also wer auf actiongeladene Schlachten hofft, wird hier leider nicht fündig.

Dafür warten hier kleine Rätsel - wenn man sie so nennen kann - und mal kleine und mal größere Kämpfe, bei denen man eher auf einfache Strategie als brutales Losgeschlachte setzen sollte. Und eben das Geheimnis um eine Zivilisation, die mehr verheimlicht als offenbart.

Klingt nicht schlecht, oder?

Nun, wie drücke ich es aus: Das Spiel wirkt leider halbfertig. Die Story ist zuteilen zu schnell erzählt, wodurch Lücken und Fragen entstehen. Handlungsstränge zwischen den Charakteren sind dabei so sprunghaft, dass sie nicht real erscheinen - und damit gehetzt. Der natürliche Ablauf von einen Beziehungsaufbau zwischen den Charakteren war nur wenig oder gar nicht vorhanden. Dadurch kann sich der Spieler nur schwer mit Haroona und ihren Begleitern identifizieren. Oder verstehen, warum der eigentliche Antagonist so handelt, wie er im Spiel nun mal handelt.

Während des Spielens war ich an einigen Stellen frustriert, habe mir mehr gewünscht und war traurig, als ich nicht die Antworten auf meine Fragen bekommen habe, die ich mir gewünscht hätte. Noch dazu waren die "Bosskämpfe" vom Aufbau ruckelig, langatmig und dadurch schnell langweilig. Ich bin ein Mensch, der gerne auf vielseitige Strategien setzt und nicht nach Muster A 50x dasselbe tun muss, um den Gegner zu erlegen, weil er nach einem standatisierten Asset programmiert ist (ist ein Ich-Problem und kommt wahrscheinlich ein bisschen von meinem ADHS). Im finalen Kampf war ich sogar kurz davor das Spiel einfach abzubrechen und zu sagen: Ciao, ich will nicht mehr.

[h2] Was hätte es besser gemacht? [/h2]

Ein Spiel braucht keine ultra realistische Grafik, um in Erinnerung zu bleiben, und beim Spielen Emotionen auszulösen. Die Unreal Engine macht einen guten Job; und es absolut nicht verkehrt wenn Games vermehrt darauf setzen. Aber... Unknown 9 fühlt sich - wie oben schon mal erwähnt - einfach unfertig an. Roh; mit Ecken und Kanten.

Ich hätte mir für einen besseren Spielfluss folgendes gewünscht:

- Das Luftschiff als Basis, wo der Dreh- und Angelpunkt zwischen Haroona und den Begleitern ist. Wo auch Sammelobjekte ausgestellt werden, wir auf einer zwischenmenschlichen Ebene interagieren können. Vielleicht sogar mit Verbesserungen oder der Möglichkeit individuell das Schiff anzupassen.
- Mehr Hintergrundstory für die Charaktere. Punkt aus Ende.
- Das Ausarbeiten des Antagonisten und damit die Beantwortung der gängigen W-Fragen.
- Kämpfe, die sich nicht nach einem "Muss" anfühlen, sondern es verständlich wird, warum wir es tun.
- Kapitel, die sich nicht wie eine eigenständige Kurzgeschichte anfühlen.
- Mehr Zeit mit den Begleitern, sodass sich die Story nicht so lückenhaft anfühlt.

Ein gutes Buch verändert einen. Das ist bei einem Spiel nicht anders. Unknown 9 gibt mir das Gefühl von einem Manuskript. Eine große Idee, mit gewaltigen Charakteren und einer packenden Story: Doch der Autor hat vergessen, wie die menschliche Psychologie und das Erzählen von Geschichten funktioniert. Schnell, rasant... ohne die Details im Auge zu behalten, die etwas in den Menschen auslösen.

Was schade ist. Denn das Spiel hat Potenzial.

sinon il y a un début de tout mais pas fini
genre il y a 10 ennemis différents
quand on passe "en phase" ( deux séquences en tout) on vit passé et futur en meme temps comme "Premier Contact" ou "Arrival" en anglais ben c'est pas du tout exploité, il y a juste l'idée ( chapitre 7 a coté d'un pont en rail de chemin de fer, a coté n'oubliez pas de créé un passage c'est pour le chapitre 12 le dernier quart de coeur ( a droite a coté de vous assise il y aura vous en arrière plan qui ouvrira le passage ))
la map ben c'est pas nécessaire vu la taille des cartes et de toute façon on peut pas se perdre, c'est tout droit !
une fois fini c'est chapitré donc vous pourrez tout ramasser plus tard
les pouvoir c'est limité aussi ( tire, pousse, possession et invisible )
donc la fufu tres bof et on est vite repéré et je suis nul donc vite repérer et avalanche de coup

et l'histoire ben il y a un tres bon terreau humanoïde millénaire, passage dans l'immatériel, ambiance steampunk et pour l'histoire de notre héroïne c'est ultra basique genre Zelda ou Mario ... de la 64 !

donc voila ils ont pris le début de plein de truc qui marche et n'ont rien exploité, ou leur actionaire ont dit vous avez 2 mois pour faire le jeu ><

a oui et la tete du perso ... ben les globes occulaire sont 0.5 mm trop avancé donc ils parraisent énorme ( genre sur des sequences ils dépassent de la paupière ) et les expréssion émotionelle c'est vraiment raté !

Otherwise, there's a start to everything, but it's not finished. Like, there are 10 different enemies. When you go into "phases" (two sequences in total), you experience the past and future at the same time, like in "First Contact" or "Arrival" in English, but it's not explored at all. There's just the idea (Chapter 7, next to a railway bridge; don't forget to create a passage next to it, it's for Chapter 12, the last quarter of a heart (to the right, next to you, sitting there; you'll be in the background opening the passage)). The map isn't really necessary given the size of the maps, and anyway, you can't get lost, it's all straight ahead! Once you've finished, it's divided into chapters, so you can collect everything later. The powers are also limited (shooting, pushing, possession, and invisibility). So stealth is pretty useless, and you get spotted quickly, and I'm terrible at it, so I get spotted quickly and get hit by a barrage of attacks.

And the story... well, there's a really good, ancient humanoid setting, a passage into the immaterial, a steampunk atmosphere, but as for our heroine's story, it's incredibly basic, like Zelda or Mario... from the N64!

So, they took the beginnings of a bunch of things that work and didn't develop them at all, or maybe their shareholders told them they had two months to make the game. ><

Oh yeah, and the character's head... well, the eyeballs are 0.5 mm too far forward, so they look enormous (like, in some sequences, they protrude from the eyelid), and the emotional expressions are a complete mess!

The good points: I really like the character's model girl.

The bad points: ...there are too many.

Otherwise, thanks for the French translation, that's really cool. I'll give it a thumbs up just for that, but honestly, everything needs to be reworked. Give people time to work; we don't care if it's six months late!

And buy it for €10-15, but it's not worth more!

Hoping for a sequel or a reboot because there are some good ideas...

I really wanted to like this game. It has cool mechanics (maybe too much like a Star Wars game), the story is nice, the characters are okay. But it feels like it aimed for more than it could be. The enemies are repetitive, the combat doesn’t flow, the parry and doge mechanics leave much wanting, even reaching the end boss fight isn’t really worth it. Again I wanted to like this game but it had too many of my gaming pet peeves in it. A constant companion character standing in your way and not moving while also badgering you to hurry up. The combat moves are good individually but there is no flow to them and to heal I have to stop everything and hit the button several times.
It’s its on sale for cheap and you don’t have anything else you are wanting sure grab it for an easy and quick time waster. Kind of disappointed though cause it does have so much potential.

I finished the game pretty quickly, and I was glad it didn’t take too long. Some of the combat features were interesting. The lore and story were really nice, but everything is very straightforward. There are almost no alternative ways to reach objectives. It feels like a bad imitation of a Lara Croft game. I hoped for more.

I got exactly what I was looking for with this one--a shortish, self-contained game with decently fun gameplay and a new setting with interesting, if not particularly novel, worldbuilding and an engaging story with characters I got invested in. The fact that it got dogpiled so severely for what I'd consider to be relatively minor flaws that didn't get much in the way of my enjoyment is honestly a travesty.

Truly dreadful game. Awful combat, repetitive everything else. Game breaking bugs everywhere. Had to play the section after the final boss 4 times to get it to trigger the cut scene. got into the jungle again and have to jump between rock platforms and the jump button stops working and the woman was stuck in the way. Normally I can find something to redeem a game, but there just isnt anything here, whether its the mediocre story, the meh acting, the average graphics or appalling frame time graph - its like a a polygraph on Maury... The game is weak, the lighting in the game in combination with the stiff weird facial expressions make it the new 2025 'my face feels tired'. No wonder the studio closed.

¿Tienes nostalgia de los gráficos de cartón piedra y las caras inexpresivas de 2010? Pues este es tu juego. Salió en 2024, pero se ve que los desarrolladores se quedaron atrapados en la generación de PS3. Es un quiero y no puedo de Uncharted o Tomb Raider.

La historia se deja llevar (sin alardes), pero el diseño de juego es criminal. Me he quedado atascado en un boss porque el juego decidió que necesitaba un ataque específico del árbol de habilidades que no desbloqueé. ¿El problema? No puedes cambiar la dificultad, no puedes reasignar puntos y no puedes cargar una partida anterior. O tienes el ataque, o estás jodido.

Sí, soy un manco y lo habré intentado 30 veces, pero no paso de la segunda ronda porque mi daño no llega. Ni que fuese un puto Souls!

Conclusión: Me costó 8€. Si te apetece gastarte lo que valen tres cañas en un juego con alma de hace 15 años para matar el aburrimiento un par de tardes, adelante. Si no, corre.

Very interesting story, compelling characters with real motivations. It's very refreshing to play a game where I give a ♥♥♥♥ about what the characters are doing. The combat is weird but unique and well done, more of a set of puzzles you have to work through then head on combat, which is also refreshing in that it is different. I can see why the game didn't do well, because the nazi gamerboy basement dweller incels didn't like the fact that it wasn't all white men in it. Again, I enjoyed the main character, the angry indian chick. Unique and very well done.

Characters: 9/10 The MC changes a lot throughout the course of the story, a growth that felt natural and made me smile. Each of the characters she came to trust were well written and fun. I think this was a very well written cast that felt natural in the world of the game.

Story: 8/10 This is a story focused game, and while not everything flowed perfectly I found myself hooked from start to finish. My reasons for caring grew alongside the MC's reasons for caring and this is one of the rare games that has ending gameplay after the final boss instead of just an abrupt end. The story was unique and thought provoking, but also well written and fun, and it's clear the devs knew the world very well.

Combat: 7/10 Okay, this one is a difficult rating. On the one hand, stealth is one of my favorite combat elements in games, though it quickly devolves into I've been spotted and now need to fight. And combat was sorely lacking in the beginning, all the way up to just past the first boss fight. Gradually, as the game progresses, more tools are added to your arsenal that made combat outside of stealth incredible, an absolute must in a game that only allowed stealth combat about 50% of the time and otherwise forces you into physical combat. Once I gained all potential fighting abilities, I no longer cared if stealth broke because of how much I could do to get back into stealth or to use powers to beat up a whole camp of enemies and feel awesome (except for when I didn't). Combat feels incredible UNLESS you're fighting a boss. Inevitably, the bosses have varying degrees of abilities that nullify yours, which makes it a very difficult battle of attrition in which they do more damage and have far more attacks.

World: 7/10 This is a linear game, which may turn some people off, but it suited me. I was just along for the ride. And the world is stunning and well designed. I felt like each area was beautiful and unique. Sometimes traversal wasn't obvious (always took me a few tries to recognize when there was a thin ledge to creep along to get to the next area), but I found it well balanced with other aspects of gameplay.

This game initially received a bad reputation for being an unpolished AAA game, but it's actually an AA game published by an AAA studio. There are areas that aren't wholly polished, but I had a lot of fun and would definitely recommend.

Разработчики этой игры решили вспомнить прекрасные времена седьмого поколения консолей, когда игры были коридорными, небольшими и немного корявыми, вот только почему-то не подумали о разумной цене за продукт такого качества, в котором тяжело получать удовольствие.

Здесь посредственная история и второсортные персонажи, вызывающие апатию и огромное желание вообще не слушать, что они говорят. Сеттинг у игры сначала показался интересным, но разработчики подумали, что у них тут настолько крутой мир, который однозначно всем понравится, что наполнили его лором до отказа, и заставляют буквально шарить за него, если ты вообще хочешь понять, что к чему – это не лучший подход для знакомства с новой вселенной. Да и было бы ради чего её изучать. Вам всё станет ясно, как только вы увидите название игры...

Геймплей худо-бедно может развлечь: навык вселения во врагов тут приходилось использовать часто, с ним можно проходить этапы скрытно или в лоб, оба этих подхода, в целом, работают, просто заниматься этим становится крайне скучно, когда разработчикам уже нечего предложить в последней трети игры, и они напихивают, напихивают, напихивают тебе одни и те же по дизайну локации и с врагами, от которых уже просто банально устаёшь, а потом ты бегаешь по коридорам через "бутылочные горлышки" раз за разом, занимаешься однотипным паркуром и продолжаешь натыкаться на все те же геймплейные секции, что и раньше.

Это не худшая игра в мире, и её можно пройти, но комплимент так себе, если честно, особенно когда игра вроде бы старается презентовать себя необычной, "нетакусичной" и вообще вот вам Йеннифер из Ведьмака от Netflix, вы ведь сразу после такого каста на главную героиню игру купите, да?

I'll give this a recommend with the caveat that you don't pay more than 20 euros for it. It's a game somewhere between 'Good' and 'Just Ok', and it also has a short <15h runtime. It's simply not as good to justify the game's initial 50 euro price tag - that was a crazy decision by the publisher.

This is certainly not the worst game of the year as some people hyperbolically called it. There's really nothing wrong with it. Most of its systems are not very deep and aren't too interesting to interact with. The story is too average to launch this great new IP Bandai Namco were hoping for. But at the same time, nothing here is truly bad. The combat is actually quite fun.

Circle-jerking cancel-happy right wing ideologues and grifters love to pat each other on their backs and celebrate killing this game, but the truth is that they had way less to do with this game's failure than its insane initial price tag. If this game had been more reasonably priced at 30 euros at most, it probably wouldn't have failed as badly as it did.

I can see value that some would get from this game DLC is a waste just get the standard game.
As for bugs I didn't see any game is stable - Probably run the game with default settings more than likely it is a driver issue or your overclock values are to high making the game unstable.
The control mechanism is a lot like star wars - it is a tomb raider style game with a star wars feel.
Very full on combat multiple variations for enemies this can make the game a little more interesting.

Like everyone else, I got this game for free when I bought a GPU, Game overall is very clunky and boring, Yes I played for 17 minutes, If you get lost in the first parts of it, it just doesn't tell you where to go.

Catastrophique !
Combats de boss atrocement nuls, IA qui bug de ouf vous obligeant à recommencer au point de passage car impossible à tuer, graphisme niveau PS2, l'aura inintéressante, combats redondants, Stutters fréquents à chaque changement de zone, level design extrêmement simpliste, personnage bloqué en mode slow motion à chaque fois qu'un pnj parle, c'est-à-dire beaucoup trop souvent et chiant, objets à récupérer inintéressants, système de soin absurde, etc...
À croire que les développeurs avec qui on travaille sur ce jeu détestent les jeux vidéo ou qu'ils n'y connaissent absolument rien.
L'échec commercial était inévitable.

Je vais expliquer pourquoi je n'ai pas passé un très bon moment sur ce jeu et pourquoi j'ai perdu mon temps ainsi que mon argent (j'ai dépensé 50€ pour l'obtenir !!!).
Voici les points que j'ai trouvé regrettable :
- déjà pour commencer au niveau de la technique : c'est moche (alors que j'ai mis les textures en ultra), ça rame (alors que j'ai une RTX 3060 et que le jeu demande très peu de ressource et que j'ai limité à 60FPS), il y a quelques bugs mais pas trop non plus donc ça va encore mais je le signal tout de même sauf que ce ne sont pas les seuls problèmes
- le jeu est ennuyeux : le gameplay ne fait que se répéter et la mise en scène est complètement absente
- les ennemis se répétent beaucoup trop
- l'IA est débile et elle te bourre comme pas possible et on ne peut rien faire
- quelques musiques sont sympas mais la plupart sont justes inexistantes
- les bosses sont les mêmes durant toute l'aventure, se répètent à chaque fois qu'on les combat
- les environnements sont très fermés et pas intéressants.
Bref, ce n'est pas un mauvais jeu mais très très moyen très oubliable et je ne le conseil absolument pas au prix fort mais au prix faible pourquoi pas pour le tester.

Very linear.

Did I crash out because of a swarm of enemies? Yes.
Did I have to walk away so I wouldn't throw my controller into my monitor? Yes.
Do I like this game? Yeah.

I like that I get to control enemies and have multiple gang up on a tanky dude so he's at 1/2 health.
I don't like that I kept getting my Aas handed to me because I suck at game lol.

I don't like the target-lock on because then you can't turn your camera and I hit that so often that I may have Alt+F4 more than once because I rage quit.

solid game tho.

O jogo é bom, tem elementos mitológicos que são pouco explorados e o eixo do jogo é movido para contextos em que raramente aparecem nos outros jogos. Vale jogar. Ele é curto e a história é bastante linear, para quem curte explorar, o jogo te dá poucas opções, porém estas são bem feitas. A jogabilidade começa bem lenta, mas conforme se avança no jogo, a progressão fica bastante equilibrada. A história é impecável. Espero que venham continuações e DLCs.

Анчартед+квантум брейк/control и приправлено стелсом, правда без стрельбы. Множество джедайских колдунств типа притянуть врага, оттлокнуть, отвлечь приманкой, майнд контрол, щит, дистанционный вандализм и тд и тп. Сильно недооценена. Есть мыслишка, что игра не понравилась тем, у кого при рождении на лбу был пенис. Сложность лучше ставить выше средней.

I would refund this game but I attempted to deal with the numerous issues of game play and went past the 2 hr limit. Do not waste your time on this game. The story seems fine and all but the mechanics are terrible target locking is useless and the forced camera moves make gameplay a frustrating experience more so than any Souls game just due to the fact the targeting and camera mechanics are terrible enough you cant even play effectively. Seems like a terrible remake of FF or Shadow of Mordor. This game had so many chances to be good but they just decided to put no effort into the actual gameplay code it seems.

This game is interesting, but in short, the performance is only okay and once again, it’s a UE5 disaster. The graphics are mediocre at best, and near the end of the game the FPS drops heavily, dipping into the mid-50s even on an RTX 4080 Super. The story is lackluster; at one point, I ended up watching a video on my second monitor while playing just to finish it. I would only recommend spending time on this game if you have extra hours to spare and got it for free or at a steep discount. Otherwise, avoid it.

Решил поиграть в эту игру из-за отрицательных отзывов и я в принципе не разочаровался. Геймплей интересен примерно 5 часов, дальше у тебя большое желание быстрее всех убить хоть как нибудь. Техническое состояние просто пипец, раз двадцать за игру были разные баги, как визуальные, так и просто по игре мешающие прохождению. Боссы это отдельная тема, они максимально неинтересны и скучны, а что еще хуже они очень долгоубиваемы, хп им завезли мое почтение. Сюжет по интересности чуть ниже среднего, но по сравнение с остальным еще ничего. Главная героиня нормальная, в принципе за ней интересно было смотреть. Из других персов запомнился дед и злодей, последний своим спокойствием. Если подытожить свои ощущения, то 5 из 10, только из-за героев.

I've never hated a game this much. There's nothing good or even fun about this. Combat is so poorly balanced and broken and lacks any impact or oomph, the story makes no sense, the performance is horrible, the puzzles are atrocious, the level designs are boring, the bugs and glitches are nonstop, and the amount of soft locks there's no excuse for. This game is everything wrong with AAA gaming. There's no reasons this should ever have been released. Let alone for the price they're charging.

Got to the last boss. I am dropping this. He's a reused boss. The big issue is this game runs HORRIBLE. Constant fps drops and lag. The final boss requires perfect dodging that's just not possible with how badly this game runs. For context the final boss insta killed me immediately 5 times in a row. The fight starts, the boss insta spammed projectiles at me which also stun lock me and deal 1/3 of my hp each.

WORST GAME EVER. Even for AAA games this is a new level of terrible. Avoid.

Ho iniziato a giocare ad Unknown 9 senza badare alle critiche lette online, ma effettivamente il gioco presenta dei problemi.
Si tratta di un action/stealth vecchio stile, il che non è di per sè un male.
Graficamente è passabile, gli scenari sono a volte suggestivi e a volte poco impressionanti. Il volto della protagonista è davvero sgraziato e brutto a vedersi, al punto da farci chiedere "come diavolo hanno fatto gli sviluppatori a rendere tanto brutta la splendida Anya Chalotra?".
Il problema però è nel gameplay: è previsto un ramo di skill dedicate allo stealth, ed è anche piuttosto piacevole giocare in modo furtivo, peccato che il gioco ci obblighi ad affrontare i combattimenti, e se avete puntato su di uno sviluppo stealth del vostro personaggio, avrete ingiustamente vita dura soprattutto nei combattimenti contro i boss, senza la possibilità di poterli affrontare in un modo alternativo al semplice scontro a viso aperto. E in ogni caso, il combattimento in sè è fatto malino, poco soddisfacente.

Insomma, allo stato attuale e per quanto posso vedere, personalmente SCONSIGLIO l'acquisto.
Mi riservo di modificare il giudizio se, avanzando nel gioco, avrò piacevoli sorprese.

Я только что прошел игру, и у меня ощущение, что я поиграл в очень ленивую "поделку". Сейчас я все поясню.
1) Очень скудный набор противников.
Я не считал, но всего около 10 видов рядовых противников, которые размещены на идентичных "аренах". И всего 2 боса, с каждым из которых сражаешься дважды.
2) Длительность игры.
Для такой "поделки" это несомненно плюс. Я прошел ее за 9 часов, но я во второй половине игры начал полностью скипать катсцены. Игра не успела надоесть настолько, чтобы ее бросить.
3) По поводу боевки.
При сражении с рядовыми противниками сначала пытался в стелс, но понял что это нудно и сильно затягивает процесс прохождения, поэтому выбирал разбираться с противниками в открытую. Если не обращать внимания на отвратительные уклонения и местами кривой регистрации попадания по противникам, то динамика боя мне понравилась.
4) Прокачка.
В таком виде которую ее представили - она не нужна. Скудная, и зависит от поиска аномалий. Если не искать и не лезть во все щели, то не прокачаешся. Лучше бы сюжетно усиливали постепенно персонажа.
5) Интерьер "Morning star" и дополнительные члены экипажа.
Внутренняя часть судна и дополнительные персонажи не нужны. Они не играют никакой роли в текущем сюжете(одну сцену при захвате судна не считаем, но и она длится 3 минуты в целом). Лучше бы добавили пару босов.
6) Коллекционные предметы. Дневник. Записки.
Из-за малого количества противников, скудного окружения(одни и те же статуи везде), дневник теряет всякую необходимость.
7) Окружение.
Отсутствие разнообразия в окружении вижно полсе второго часа игры. Все арены с противниками используют одни и те же предметы окружения, без какого либо разнообразия. И до конца игры ничего нового я не увидел.
8) Звуковое сопровождение.
Ну это не Clair Obscure Expedition 33. Саундтрек не запомнился ничем. Озвучка персонажей нормальная, без выдающейся игры актеров озвучивания.
9) Элементы платформера.
Ух. Чаще всего я умирал из-за попыток спрыгнуть с одной стены вниз на другую. В одном месте я потратил 25 минут чтобы спуститься вниз.
10) Баги, лаги, глюки.
Большое количество багов. Несколько раз после катсцен терялось управление персонажем, из-за чего приходилось перезагружаться по несколько раз. Несколько раз управление отказывало на экране прокачки способностей, приходилось нажимать Alt+F4.
11) Сохранения.
Не работают ручные сохранения. Если сохранился и пытаешься загрузиться, то тебя все равно запускает с контрольной точки.

Итог: Я думал что это инди игра и не ждал ничего особого. Однако с учетом того что у игры есть бюджет, то я остался в сильном недоумении. Куда ушли деньги? Почему, когда Сахин вселяется в Харуну вы не сделали ничего эпичного!?!? Вы увеличили дальность способностей и убрали трату "эм" за способности на 1 минуту..... К сожаления это игра на которую не стоит тратить внимания. Максимальная цена игры - 10$.

The Good:

Graphics are decent.

Story is… okay, not amazing.

Music is absolutely great.

The Bad:

Combat and dodging feel clunky.

Enemies sometimes act like they forgot they’re in a fight.

Occasional lag and freezing.

Can’t even change the controls.

A bit too much nonsense at times.

Verdict: 5/10 – Feels more like “Unknown 9: Needs a Patch.”

I'm giving this a hesitantly positive review. I see what they were going for, and overall, I think the good does outweigh the bad, for the most part. But I have some problems.

When the combat works the way I think they intended it to (quietly taking enemies out one-by-one), it's a lot of fun. I think the Stepping mechanic is really interesting, and it leads to some neat possibilities. And generally, it does seem to work like that.

But then the game also likes to drop you into areas with big groups of enemies and no room to be stealthy, so you end up having to fight them all at once. Except the combat isn't built for fighting eight enemies at once, especially if some of them are ranged (because your character is melee only and the ranged enemies are often super hard to get at), so you have to just kite them around and slowly whittle them down, which is super tedious and annoying.

The game also looks pretty rough, and I've encountered a fair number of small bugs; namely both my character and NPCs getting hung up on the terrain. Also, the characters never ever STFU, so if you're going faster than the script (IE, not stopping and listening every time they have something to say), the dialogue will be constantly interrupting itself.

Oh, and for some bizarre reason, this game, released in the Year of our Lord 2024, doesn't let you change the difficulty. You pick it at the start and that's that.
