In the year 2004, Earth is suddenly overcome by "spores" launching from an alien mothership. Slowly blocking earth from the sun, in only a week it rains down biological death on the earth... killing most of humanity and larger life forms. Since then, the few survivors of mankind have sought out each other, and by 2005, enough humanity has joined together to make a stand. Calling themselves the Council of Earth, and working secretly in hidden bases, they must research, recruit and train to the ultimate goal of shooting down UFOs, engaging aliens in combat and reclaiming the Earth from their oppressors and the mutated biology.

The Cenega UFO series is a pretty interesting alternative take on the X-COM series. Speaking as someone who's not a fan of the board-gamey feel of the new ones and rather prefers the style of the old, I found it enjoyable enough to finish.

THE GOOD

The writing and "set design" (the tactical maps) are actually really well-done, solid, and show attention to detail.

The combat, while fairly basic in its real-time-tactical format, is fairly engaging.

The overall concept and story is a more horror-oriented version of the alien conquest theme, with people being turned into horrific genetic monstrosities, who nonetheless fire AK-47s and HK G36s at you (??).

Character development is engaging and enjoyable, and keeps you looking forward to the next development point to put into one of their stats.

There are no tactical vehicles, but the heavy machineguns mounted on heavy armor do feel really good once you get them. They pretty much rip through almost everything in the game, but they have to be deployed to be used.

THE BAD

It lacks some elements of the original, like base design, instead turning the strategy layer into a map to conquer with base coverage. There can only ever be one troop transport aircraft, so the purpose of having many squad members becomes reduced, unfortunately, to functioning as alts for injured soldiers. Tactical games sadden me when they have no structure to enforce using more than a base squad with some pinch-hitters.

The way tactical combat is implemented, the best way to play is to just plop your team down at the entrance to an area and wait until enemies wander into LOS. They can really mess up your day if they see you first, so the game becomes hide and seek, with the hider almost always getting first shot (and therefore closing the deal). The tactical element is pretty much lost to this, unfortunately.

The weapons in the game are oddly done, like the developers couldn't decide whether to go more in the direction of Jagged Alliance or X-COM. So you have your panoply of modern weapons, with many different models of pistols and rifles, and while you do get to research variant alien weapons, for the most part, ballistic 7.62mm and .50 BMG weapons remain competitive to them and sometimes superior (mainly because the aliens' armor shields are more resistant to high-tech weapons than ballistic ones).

It's like they really wanted to keep using the cool real-world weapons they like throughout the game, which is an odd choice and eliminates the benefit of that technological plateau you reach in the standard X-COM games once you're pumping plasma weapons.

The worst part, in the end, is completely in line with the genre itself. Like with the series in general, the battles get repetitive and feel too frequent at the end, and the game starts to drag. You're just wanting to run time out to get the strategy metalayer progressing faster.

Fortunately, it was quite completable in a reasonable playtime, so I did finish it without losing interest.

SUMMARY

It's an interesting take, and a good Central-European take on the X-COM genre that set the stage for its following games in the series. I came into this expecting jank, and it was surprisingly solid. It is rough around the edges in places, for sure, and is fairly basic in the strategic aspect, but if you like the series and concept in general, it's enjoyable worth a play.

Soldiers move and engage dynamically, but players can halt time at any moment to issue precise orders, reposition units, or adjust combat strategies. This hybrid design creates a distinctive rhythm. Encounters can feel urgent and chaotic in real time, yet pausing allows for methodical control. Mastery of this system requires balancing quick reaction with deliberate command, particularly when facing unpredictable enemy behavior or navigating confined environments filled with hostile threats.

Squad development adds another layer of depth. Soldiers gain experience and improve attributes such as strength, perception, and intelligence, shaping their effectiveness in different combat roles. Over time, players develop attachments to their veteran operatives, making losses more impactful. Equipment customization further enhances tactical flexibility, as a wide arsenal of weapons and gear can be researched and deployed. The technological progression tree gradually unlocks advanced tools derived from alien technology, reinforcing the theme of humanity adapting and evolving in response to invasion. Choosing which technologies to prioritize becomes a strategic decision that influences both battlefield effectiveness and long-term campaign stability.

The atmosphere of UFO: Aftermath is one of its strongest assets. The setting conveys a sense of global collapse and isolation, with desolate landscapes and abandoned cities serving as battlegrounds. Обожаю серию ufo, хотя конечно понимаю что на фоне xcom, это прям игрушка, а не супер серьёзный проект. Но таки к ufo я возвращаюсь каждый год и перепрохожу её, у меня это как ритуал. Атмосфера, все эти исследования, а когда получаешь солнечную броню, прям кайф, чувствуешь прогресс и как твои солдаты из ополченцев превращаются в настоящих ветеранов и сметают всё на своём пути. В плане тактики конечно вяло прям, макс сложность проходится спамом гранат по сути, оружием там мало что получится сделать, но в этом и есть тоже прикол. На макс сложности нужно прям придумывать тактики использовать мощное оружие типо дробовиков, но при этом близко подходить к врагам, короче игра нереально затягивает.

Homenaje a la saga UFO (XCOM saltando el atlántico) de los checos Altar Games. Estrategia en tiempo real (que puedes parar a tu antojo) para defender el planeta tierra de una invasión extraterrestre. Es un juego que tiene mas de 20 años y es incomodísimo de jugar, la cámara te va a dar diarrea y dar ordenes a los soldados a veces es desesperante, por ejemplo, nunca van a disparar si no se lo ordenas tu y así un largo etc... Ademas también solo dispones de un solo transporte para hacer misiones aunque los cazas para derribar ovnis son efectivamente infinitos ¿? En fin, salvando todos esos fallos (que solo hacen el juego mas difícil xD) Le tengo mucho cariño ya que años atrás (aquí viene el abuelo batallas) lo conseguí por unos miseros 10 ecus en una tienda de segunda mano. Una pedazo de edición de zeta games con hasta voces en castellano que aun conservo a la cual la di mucha cera en su momento y cuando lo vi de oferta por aquí, lo trinque sin pensarlo.

UFO: Aftermath is a video game from my youth.

I vividly recall playing the demo from a UK Strategy Gamer demo disk on my 13th birthday. I loved it so much I bugged my mum that I wanted to buy the game with the money I got as a gift for my birthday. We went to several stores and I still remember finally seeing that box art on the shelf of a Harvey Norman... The rest was countless late nights trying to learn the game and convince myself I was actually getting better at it...

Replaying and beating the game over the last few nights I have to be honest in that time has not been kind. UFO: Aftermath (indeed the entire UFO: After* series) is a budget title that the addictive gameplay loop does well to hide for the first half a dozen hours. You will quickly come to detest the same missions (namely base capture or worse, alien base capture), the terrible voice acting and sudden spikes in difficulty.

If you stick with it, UFO: Aftermath is the first game in a series that tried to save us from the X-COM reboot and countless knocks with their two action turn based combat with IMO the superior "simultaneous action system" (SAS).

Still ran fine on Windows 11 despite the tiny resolution scale.

If you enjoyed this type of squad-based SAS game, I strongly recommend E5: New Jagged Union or the superior 7,62 High Calibre and its modded 7,62 Hard Life.

Игра детства.
Графика устарела, но к ней быстро привыкаешь. Геймплей простой и не душный. Купил, запустил и играешь, никакого пердолинга и танцев с бубном. Проходится быстро.

P.S. На мой взгляд, действительно сложных миссий в игре всего две - Капустин Яр и финальная миссия. В Капустином Яру впервые появляются ретикуланы с пусковыми установками с зажигательными снарядами, от которых быстро отъезжает отряд. А в финальной миссии много псиоников, которые берут под контроль и мега жирные трансгенанты. Также очень много ретикуланов в целом. Рекомендую брать аптеки и большой боезапас + гранаты для выполнения целей задания.

三部曲的第一部，敌人是突变体和生化体，还有网？星人，也就是后面两部中的蜂巢人，武器种类实在是太多了。是三部曲中剧情最短，通关最快的一部。剧情上后期外星人会问你要不要接受他们的实验，我选了拒绝，但是第二部好像是在第一部失败的基础上建立的剧情。结局动画还是挺温馨的。游戏是好游戏，就是操作起来比较麻烦。

Interesting. The mecanics in a kind of real time while it allows programing the movements/actions sequentially + pause on certain events makes a nice gameplay. Also it may be a very dificult game if you play this "ironmode" as your soldiers will die frequently when you deal with later stages of aliens.

Сделана по мотивам X-com, однако со своим сюжетом.
Произошел апокалипсис, вызванный непонятными спорами, из-за которых большинство живого на планете вымерло. И начались атаки странных пришельцев.
Нам нужно выяснить причины происшествия и решить проблему с пришельцами.
Игра - походовая тактика, однако тактические миссии проходят в гибридном походово-риалтаймовом режиме.
Не ожидайте от игры Уау эффекта, который был у вас в 1993 году после выхода оригинальной X-com или его ремейка, однако приятное времяпровождение для любителей тактических игр я думаю будет.

UFO: Aftermath je rozhodně následníkem ještě staršího X-COMu. Na tehdejší dobu se jedná o zajímavou hru, z dnešního pohledu už je ale skutečně zastaralejší. Nicméně pokud jste fanoušci české lokalizace, častého a místy zběsilého klikání a boje s mimozemšťany či mutanty, nebudete litovat a na pár dní vás titul určitě zabaví. Navíc jej můžete hrát několikrát a stále jinak, což je něco, na co by se nemělo zapomínat.

Worth a purchase if you REALLY need to scratch an X-com itch on a tight budget or need a nostalgia kick on a Friday night. It's over 20 years old so expect all the clunkiness that comes with that. Looking for a definitive alien-bashing tactical turn based strategy and value for money? Personally I'd save up a few extra quid and go for one of the X-Com remakes or Phoenix Point.

It has a great sound track and is very addictive once you get going. But I can see how a new player would have a hard time getting to grips with its controls.

It does have a good story and is definitely worth the money.

Basically just classic XCOM, but real-time with pause. And under the hood it's basically just simultaneous turns, but you don't have to keep pressing the turn button. Character leveling looks a lot like a certain classic tabletop game whose name escapes me. The whole system really works for me. I was never sold on I-go-you-go turn-based systems, and making it real-time allows for the kind of granular control we had in the original XCOM without being tedious.

It's tempting to think of this as an XCOM knock-off, but it's actually name-brand. Julian Gollop, the XCOM OG, was making this game before his company went bankrupt and he sold it to a little studio to finish. It's got a unique flavor of horror--I think we can credit at least that part to Altar games--but the actual story is exactly what you'd expect from an XCOM.

I do recommend this, probably more than the original. I like the darker vibe and and new real-time system. Old XCOM is slow and new XCOM is simplified, but this manages to be fast and still gritty. The character system is cool, too. One caveat, though: the resolution. It runs at 1064x768, period. You're going to want to upscale through your GPU control panel after you've chosen the first (original aspect ratio) or second (stretched) option in the game launcher. Yes, it's that old.

If you are reading this review to try to determine if it's worth the 3.99, my answer is yes, but the game goes on sale a few times a year.

Is UFO: Aftermath perfect? No, the game is about 20 years old. Is it fun? I think so. I've played probably around 200 hours prior to buying it on steam.

At some point the game becomes very easy and then gets incredibly hard.

There is a decent (several dozen) selection of weapons to use, though you will likely get a few weapons and never replace them. (I really like the G3 rifle)

You will likely also want to diversify your squad, alternating a few soldiers each mission so you don't run into a situation where you are running a greenhorn with seasoned vets in the event you lose one (I generally try to avoid save scumming)

The maps are varied by region, but you will see the same map for multiple missions.

Completed the game for the 2nd time. First was long long ago.

Settings are a mess. To set the resolution you need to change number of the videomode in the config file manually, config app can't find proper resolution. With some random values game starts normally.

Overall sometimes it's a pain to play it. Always has been. There are older games that works better than this one.

This game has unique atmosphere of despair and depression. Even your victory wont change much and game shows it to you. Really different from X-Com and probably it's more a taste for such things.
Game has a lot of enemies and they are different. Sadly it doesn't apply for aliens.
Game allows you to totally suck. Choice of weapons, types and team matters.
Few scenario missions and half of them are optional and you can do them anytime.
On the second play-through you still have a chance to find new types of enemies. There are a lot of them.
Game may look boring, it doesn't try to entertain you as much as the modern games do (including new X-COM), but ... well, ok, I have nothing to say here - I'm just ok with that. I don't like when such games include too much action - you have other genres. You need to do a lot of battles so your squad will complete the final mission successfully.
It's not x-com. It's inspired, but it's different in many aspects. I would say ... they have alien setting and it's a game about tactic (yes, sometimes you need to think how to win, it's not a game where you can just kill everyone with the best weapons. You will just get mind controlled and your squad will collapse lol).
So it's thumbs up. I rarely complete games twice.

UFO: Aftermath - симулятор превозмогания инопланетного вторжения на Землю, который вдохновлен серией X-com, но отличается от нее отходом от строгого пошага в сторону баланса и геймплейных приоритетов, более присущего экшенам.

Геймплей игры состоит из двух этапов:

• глобальный этап, где мы глядя на глобальную карту Земли анализируем текущую ситуацию, и отдаем распоряжения находящимся под нашим контролем подразделениям (экипируем и отсылаем штурмовую группу, выбираем что исследовать исследовательским группам и что крафтить производственным базам);

• боевой этап, где действие игры переносится на конкретную местность (глобальный мир на период боевой операции ставится на "паузу"), и все внимание игрока концентрируется на управлении отрядом выполняющим миссию на текущей карте;

Мысли после прохождения? Ну... одно из главных достоинств игры - это ее визуальный ряд. Картинка хотя и по современным стандартам очень примитивная, но все же атмосферная, отсылает к реалистично-гротескной фантастике в духе первой Half-life.

Тактические возможности? Тут игра довольно примитивна, она скорее про аккуратную зачистку комнат, чем про комплексную тактику. Почему?

Да потому что юниты тут - это скорее турельки, чем люди!

Понятия инициативы и ошеломления в игре нет, геймплейные ценности как писал выше куда ближе к экшенам: у кого больше HP и пушка больше - тот и рулит. Из тактических возможностей есть разве что вариант подстеречь врага за углом экипировав дробовик, или напасть со спины, что бы у ваших юнитов было хотя бы пару мгновений форы.

Ну и еще стоит заметить не самый лучший геймдизайн: в "середине" игры вам поступит офигительное предложение. Я отказался, т.к. подумал "ну вот, щас будет мясо", и... началось уныние. Это оказался по сути постгейм, причем унылый, т.к. враги были очень жирные, и при этом разнообразие карт упало до обидных значений (бои раз за разом постоянно проходили на одной и той же карте!!!).

А потом я узнал что следующие части игры отталкиваются от того что игрок СОГЛАСИТСЯ на офигительное предложение, и тут все встало на свои места: постгейм просто никто особо и не прорабатывал.

Итог? Отличная залипательная тактика для новичков в жанре. Довольно простенькая для вхождения, требует аккуратной игры, но не грузит игрока сложными формулами.

Минус у игры только один: геймдизайнеры не четко обозначили рекомендуемую концовку, а в постгейме становится ясно что глобальной симуляции не хватает детализации.

Comming on this game after 20 years was such a nice experience :)
I'm kind of missing this kind of game, where you have to really understand how stuff work, and it can be quiet hard if you don't actually spend some times reading your weapon and research.
Definitly not super casual, but definitly doable if you like game where you have to think a bit.
Once you get how it works, it's rather simple, and the only way to die would be extremly unlucky mob spwan (Like a fish behind a door, or a Alien with railguns on melee at spwan)
I've just endend my first no save run, (No save while on a mission) was quiet entertaining.

No, there is nothing you can do that Julian Gollop have not already done to X-com himself

This game was made after Apocalypse, Interceptor and Enforcer. No one has played those, so people were / are comparing Aftermath to UFO. This game was made (and still exists) in the world where Enforcer is the second best game called Xcom.

This game is weird. The battlescape combat is real-time tactics, with the depth shallower than in BiA, and with worse controls and camera. Soldiers don't shoot without an order. And your orders are compulsorily added to a queue. Instead of sometimes pressing [Shift] to queue the orders like in the proper games, you always press [Alt] to make your goons execute the orders instantly. But the worst part with the group control, is that the goons move at very different speeds. You select all with [~] and order them to move forward. Your fast guys run there and stumble upon an enemy. You select everyone with [~] and order them to shoot if possible. So the people with a line of fire will be shooting, but everyone without will stop in their tracks and do nothing.
If you instead pick only the guys who have a line of fire, them shooting will still interrupt the move command for everyone else. That way the slow guys fall behind even harder.
If you give a move command with two checkpoints, the fast guys will sit there and wait for everyone to catch up. But that is useless due to the nature of this game.
Most of the time the game will queue the orders given without [Alt]. But it is inconsistent. If you order to shoot an alien, it can as easily cancel all the previous orders. The inventory-management during battlescape sucks too.

You can't climb roofs, can't enter buildings. There are no jetpacks or real verticality. The line of sight calculation is really bad on open rugged terrain, your guys often refuse to shoot. Especially with rocket launchers and grenade launchers. Meanwhile the enemies will shoot you through giant solids and entirely ignore woods. And past the mid-game almost all of them are using rocket launchers.

When you put your dudes near corners they try to use the cover to shoot. It looks impressive with them leaning. But it is not reliable at all, and the enemies still can damage them.

There's no hearing system at all so on some maps you can run circles around the map before you find the last bug.

When you enter the saucers, and on some outdoors maps, when you spawn you are already surrounded by the enemies who are already shooting you. The saucers are super tiny and you just roll the dice until you manage to survive. When the game starts to send stronger enemies against you, all the tactical missions boil down to save-loading until the RNG smiles upon you. The combat is loose, the game as a whole is not-involved, low-stakes, and low-agency. In UFO you are in control of the game, here the game is in control of you.

The real-time tactical combat in this game is not tactical at all and it is pretty bad. But even when compared to slightly better combat of BiA, this is still a better game, because the tactical battles are not the core experience, and not the only gameplay in this game.

There's also the geoscape which is equally broken and janky. The interception is not involved at all, you just watch a pre-baked cutscene. If you accidentally press the button to not interrupt you with that type of messages, the game will just allow the saucers run free until the end. And they are represented by tiny red dots, same as your own red planes. So you can't reliably manually spot the saucers.Every base you capture can be converted to one of the 3 (4) types. Research and engineering ones speed up the according actions. Military bases serve as logistics exit points from which your troops can fly out. And bug repellent bases can prevent biomass from consuming them.

You have only one chopper, so you can participate in only one operation at a time. It's amazing just how much this unpopular small game has influenced XSOM. You even have the same team rotation. In UFO you have your goons and your transports, you mix and match and equip them any way you want. When you are limited to only one chopper, you have to manually pick your team of not wounded soldiers before every sortie, while the wounded ones are inaccessible. You get new soldiers randomly as they join your survivalist camp. And you can even get two aliens. I don't think they are very useful since they can't wear any armour. But i didn't try to play with them. Besides healing you can train your guys when they reach pre-requisite primary stats. I dunno what is exactly the point. You can manually level up the same stats, and you can train a goon in every field possible.

The missions randomly appear on geoscape. They describe the type of the mission and show for how long they will be available. I don't really understand how the expiration time for the missions is calculated. I don't think it's even possible to do every mission. The good innovation here is that the missions don't just expire, they are delegated to the AI and it even has a chance to win, without your involvement.

The game has a kinda good fight-research balance. A lot of research is finished faster than your choppa reaches the destination. The real-time battles are usually quick and short on these tiny maps. Though, even in real-time, the base clean-up missions are more annoying in the same proportions. You just run in circles looking for the last strugglers.

The battles are meaningless and not tactical at all, but even great tactical battles get old after 100 hours, and when they pose no challenge. Giant colonies in Terror are just long tedious mop-ups instead of a challenge. And even before you advance to offensive PSI they are just RNG tedious mop-ups with a lot of save-loading. Both UFO and Terror really lack a proper fight-research balance and auto-resolving the missions was missed.

The game runs on bad tech, even for the time. The resolution is locked and it's below 1600. There are minor bugs, like the faces can get stuck in a loop of talking animation.

This game has some interesting weapons, the story is somewhat interesting. But there's barely any gameplay. The game is short, it probably can be finished in 15 hours, i spent 20.

While the real-time tactical combat is even worse than in JA: Back in Action, UFO: Aftermath is too short, easy, and pointless to be hated. All in all, it is even better than XSOM, and ten times better than Apocalypse.

Отличная игра, на SteamDeck идет идеально. Запустилась без танцев с бубном с первого раза (играл клава-мышь с настройками геймпада заморачиваться не стал)
Были ситуации когда мышь как бы валетает за пределы экрана, в этом случае помогает только перезапуск игры. Лечится эта беда сменой разрешения игры в меню "STEAM" в положение "DEFAULT"
По самой игре написано уже много, повторяться смысла не вижу. Желаю приятного прохождения и погружения в ностальгию.

Геймплей цікавий в плані менеджменту свого загону, рішень на стратегічній та тактичній мапах, та і взагалі хєрачіть елієнів з гранатомета не набридне напевно ніколи. Так, графіка дуже застаріла, проблеми з налаштуванням роздільної здатності екрану, іноді прибульці туплять та ходять туди-сюди, не намагаючись атакувати солдатів мого загону, іноді на мапі залишається якась остання муха і ти не можеш її знайти та вбити, і через це місія не може закінчитись, але мені, як фанату варгеймів і взагалі стратегічних ігор дуже зайшло ще тоді наприкінці нульових, може зайде і вам

Ennyi érthetetlen idió*a katonát a világ nem látott. Örömmel küldtem öket a halálba...
Nagy élmény volt még 2010-ben játszani ezzel a játékkal. Akkor is iszonyat irritáló volt maga az irányitás, de most még idegesítőbb. Már azért is szólnak a katonák ha valamelyikre rájön a cifra fos*s. Minden 10. mp-ben szól angolul, hogy mi legyen a parancs. Anno volt ehez magyar szinkron hang is, most hála az égnek a Steames verzióban nincsen magyar szinkron.

Alapvetöen nem egy rossz játék, de igen bugyuta stratégiát alkalmaz.

UI: kiskoromban talán ez az egyik legemlékezetesebb Alien-es játék...(Ja persze az AlienTrilogy után.)

Being a huge fan of the X-COM games I bought this one on sale as it appeared heavily inspired by the X-COM series and I finished all of those already. I wasn't wrong, but the game is just... boring. Mind you I'm totally fine with older graphics and working around with settings until the game is playable (this will take a while at least on Windows 7-10), but it's just not worth it IMHO. Story is boring, enemies are uninteresting, the gameplay can be simple yet confusing at the same time (not an easy achievement). Played it for a couple of hours and then decided even looking at a blank wall would be more fun. Wouldn't pay 1 cent for this.

Graphics : little grainy people....
Sound : All is clear and easy on the ears
Game play : As simple as it gets, with a few quirks like pressing OK to do a simple equipment change, but good and simple as it comes
Stability : No crash nor bugs so far
Replay-ability : Not much in that sense, considering no achievements and hence once till the end is enough i think
Overall i play this for nostalgia, i played this like 20 years ago...so, yeah nostalgia.....

Я сам играл в это давным давно до стима ещё на выходе. С нетерпением ждал. Первая ласточка из трилогии UFO. Разработчики попытались кинуть кость изголодавшимся по серии XCOM людям. И вроде бы по трейлерам и обещаниям всё было загадочно и интересно. В итоге темный грустный постапок очень в начале затянул. Стилистика печали и разваленного мира прям по началу захватила, но потом начался геймплей и тут полезли всякое отвратное (и это я не про мутантов). Итак что тут хорошего: 1)индивидуальное контролируемое развитие персонажей отряда 2) может это личная вкусовщина, но мне дизайн и стиль обречённого мира очень зашёл ( чем то напоминает вариации из Gorky17) 3) размеренный геймплей на глобальной карте не гонит вперед 4) понятное оружие и эффект от его использования 5) ну может сама история о пребытии инопланетян и героическое сражение за нашу планету. Когда я был юн то просто не замечал минусов. Теперь же это просто удручает. Минусов здесь столько, что тяжело это написать подробно. Плохо всё, что касается геймплейных механик, очень топорные анимации, абсолютно отбитое управление особенно на тактическом поле ( кто его делал вообще не человек походу), убрали менеджмент баз ( остался рудимент с заменой специализации базы), никакой оптимизации нигде, миссии дичайше однообразные особенно из-за отсутствия вариации карт( они хоть и маленькие, но карты города всего 2 на весь мир например). Если поковыряться ещё можно мелкие найти проблемы с вылетами или ещё что-то, НО почему же я поставил лайк. Я поставил ДА потому что это была первая игра после дикой засухи от игр XCOM и даже такая кривая неинтуитивная поделка на коленке всё ещё вызывает чувство ностальгии, что нельзя сказать про тот шлак Aftershock и Afterlight что выйдет после неё.

Great game that shows its age. For example, WSAD doesn't work to pan the camera, instead you use the arrow keys, which was the done thing when this game came out.

The camera snapping to troops requesting orders can give sea sickness so I suggest you disable that right away.

Other than that it's a fantastic tactical game that can be a little brutal when you storm enemy UFOs, that gives you time to pause the game, issue commands, think about it, replan, then execute. Totally recommend it

Не меняется разрешение на Win10, точнее судя по гайдам его поменять можно, но у меня не открывается launcher.exe, в котором можно что-то поменять, всё перепробовал, но ♥♥♥ там плавал, так что остается запускать это поделие только в мелком окошке, за такое неоптимизированный продукт в стиме разработчикам и габену говна за шиворот, остальным не советую это покупать, если не хотите трахаться с настройкой этой игры под современные системы.

Like XCOM? Play this. It's somewhat crustier than the original XCOM games, but has it's own unique brand of charm-especially the base mechanics and the fun fluff details added in the research tabs. You dont get as much granularity perhaps, and you're more encouraged to train up one squad of badasses instead of crosstrain multiple groups, but the weapons are fun, the tech is fun, and the enemies interesting. Not to say it's perfect-very frequently the aliens can get off insane snapshots, or spot you from across the map, and the AI isn't top-tier, but it's still fun as all hell.
