Gestion, Simple, Fun et Efficace.
While it certainly is no Tropico 4, I keep finding myself coming back to this game a lot. The islands are very detailed for the year it was released, even more so than Tropico 4, and the textures are surprisingly detailed to, and match the overall vibe. It's a very good adaption of the first Tropico game. The difficulty is also pretty high as well, since there is no quick build - which I personally like, since it means you'll be more inclined to be corrupt (like any good banana republic dictator) in order to stay in power.
If you're a fan of the series, definitely check this one out.

Я прошёл 5 миссий компании и, к сожалению, все они чрезвычайно однообразны. От миссии к миссии меняется разве что случайные события. А в остальном, стратегия одинаковая. Диктор на радио - прикольная задумка, но каждую миссию он говорит одно и тоже: когда достигаешь 100 человек, когда в начале игры на тебя жалуются, что церковь не построил и т.д.
В целом, построить разок город прикольно, но не понятно, как работают некоторые механики. Вроде для того, чтобы население могло потреблять произведённую еду, надо построить рынок, но всё вроде и без него работает. Консервный завод у меня вообще не завёлся, хотя есть, и алюминий, и железо, и рыба, и ананасы, чего ему не хватает - фиг его знает. Или же, как понять, какой бонус даёт присутствие Эль Президенте в указанном здании?
Экономика в целом очень упрощённая. Нельзя выбрать, что продаёшь на экспорт или же оставляешь для внутреннего производства. Это всё работает неявно. Отчёты по экономике неудобны. Щёлкаешь по куче вкладочек и всё равно не понимаешь, что происходит. Проще продолжать что-то строить и махнуть на отчёты рукой. Даже если будет убыток из-за случайных событий, его покроет банк, а долг будет выплачен с доходов. А там и цель миссии выполнится.
Так что я не заметил глубины в этой игре, хотя есть много каких-то механик, типа посадить выбранного гражданина в тюрьму. Какой в этом смысл, кроме ролеплея - не знаю. Выборы все проходятся легко: просто обещаешь то, чего пока нет, а потом через несколько лет выполняешь и все довольны. Возможно, я чего-то не понял, и в дальнейших миссиях игра раскрывается, но из-за отсутствия описания механик, играть просто скучно. Строишь на обум, не понимая, как это всё вместе работает. И оно как-то само проходится без каких-либо трудностей.
Ещё стоит отметить техническое состояние игры. Время от времени игра вылетает, а так как автосохранение происходит непонятно в какие моменты, то можно откатиться, и на 20 минут назад, что очень неприятно.

This is one of those games I feel like has faded away with time. The Tropico games I feel have always been a bit simple city builders. I really wish they would go deeper into the political aspects of a country like this. Even if its a played for laughs.

Tropico 3 and 4 were the best in the series. And while I do recommend T4 a bit more as it has additional QoL features, Tropico 3 inovated and made the game truly great. It is a game that has great personality and probably the best art direction in the 6-game series.
Tropico 3: where I pretend to be a benevolent dictator, but mostly end up juggling riots, hurricanes, and my citizens’ unrealistic demands for beachfront apartments. Somehow, bribing my way through politics never gets old. 9/10—would mismanage an island paradise again.

Es un juego de 2009, una época que no nos queda tan lejos y hacían juegos buenos de verdad. Eres gobernante de una isla, tendrás que gestionarla lo mejor posible para que toda tu población esté feliz y así evitar rebeliones, invasiones, etc. Tiene toques de humor y esta ambientado en alguna isla del caribe.
El único problema es que quitaron el modo online y ya no puedes conseguir todos los logros del juego (logros que son internos, porque en steam no los tiene)

this game was pretty dag gum funny and awesome!
Tropico 3 nails the balance between fun and complexity. You play as “El Presidente,” running your own island nation, juggling the economy, politics, and the happiness of your people. The game has a great sense of humor, and the 1960s Caribbean setting is super immersive.
The management systems are deep but approachable, letting you customize your island, build infrastructure, and deal with political factions in interesting ways. The music and art style add to the whole vibe perfectly.
If you like city-builders with personality and enough challenge to keep things interesting, Tropico 3 is a must-play classic.

Honest review:
This is the first Tropico I've played.
This is a oldie but a goodie. Game play is strategic city management as a dictator. I love the balance from the traits you must pick from, or you can select a pre-made character.
The only cons I really have with this game is that the controls are a bit wonky and you cant move a building after you've already placed it like you can in Cities.
If you are a Cities fan, this is a fun little twist version of it. Less stressful, just as addictive.
This game is about balance and its a hard game to truly balance.
One tip I'll give you before I leave is that your character can run around and help aid in the quickening of build time on whatever you bring him too. I'd suggest put the building in higher priority, so he isn't just standing around. One more is that its a good idea to have your character go to a couple places like you armory and tourist spots to ensure everyone is happy.
I'm really enjoying this game and I feel like I still have a great deal to still learn.
The big question is... Should you play it. In my opinion I believe its solid, so much so I'm planning on buying the next one.

Весело провел время, устранил конкурента на выборах, построил Геленджик со своим казино и туземцами, поучаствовал в войне с повстанцами, выкрал 100 тыщ баксов на швейцарский счет, и вопреки стандартам превратил остров в сигарную республику.
Множество путей развития поселения. В "сюжетных" заданиях присутствуют определенные ограничения, повышающие сложность и интерес прогрессии.
Строить всегда увлекательно, из за определенных правил приходится строить не просто отдельные здания, а целые районы со своими зонами проживания, развлечений и религии.
Побыть тираном лично у меня не вышло.
Игра всегда сводилась только к определенной имбовой стратегии. И в каждом сценарии, я скорее не строил город, а пинал строителей. Стройка любых зданий затягивалась и могла длится годами. На строительство одного здания, строительная контора выделяла всего одного работника, хотя в штате было 8, не смогли на это повлиять ни высокая зп, ни еще одна контра, ни качество работы. Так я и строился, отправляя президенте от одной стройки к другой.
Напоследок скажу, что если в серьез игру не воспринимать, то она вполне может затянуть, динамичный саундтрек, строительство, нужды жителей, все вкупе играет на погружение.
Советую прикоснуться.

Tropico 3 is an absolutely charming and addictive city-builder! Stepping into the polished boots of El Presidente on a sunny Caribbean island during the Cold War is pure, unadulterated fun. Balancing factions, developing your economy, and shaping your island paradise (or iron-fisted regime) is incredibly engaging. With its fantastic Latin soundtrack, witty humor, and vibrant visuals, Tropico 3 offers a delightful escape. It's a brilliantly executed dictator sim that will keep you saying "just one more edict!" long into the night. Highly recommended!
This is a quite nice management game - though a bit old (graphics are surprisingly bad at first, then you get used to it) it's full of good ideas and you can tell it was made with passion. I have to mention the audio quality: all the details, musics, and voice acting are top shelf.
You kinda can skip the tutorial and start with the campain: they explain things there too, though less.
It's dozens of hours of fun! Will you be a corrupted dictator or a loving leader? You can really chose your path, you can even litteraly be a famous figure of History!

You can re-bind all of the hotkeys except the ones that I most want to be able to re-bind; the ones that pan the camera; you have to use the arrow keys. There is a wall on the left side of my PC desk; this means that I would have to insert my keyboard into the wall to be able to play this game comfortably. You also can't disable edge-scrolling, or scroll by holding the middle mouse-button, & there is no 'hold to scroll' button that could be bound to the middle mouse button. The game has no sex appeal, even the sexy statues from the previous game have been removed.
Tropico 3 is a mirror reflecting our collective comfort with authoritarianism as long as it happens to someone else. Its entertainment value derives precisely from the psychological distance between player and consequences—the same mechanism that enables actual dictatorships to function. You'll enjoy it most if you don't think too deeply about why you're enjoying it.
The main trump card of this game is the style. Thanks to it, you are well immersed in the era of the Cuban missile crisis. The graphics (although outdated) are pleasing to the eye. The downside of this game is that it is easy (personally, I easily completed the entire campaign) and there are few activities in the game itself (this was partially added in the subsequent parts)

For developers. I ask you to consider the possibility of creating a new Tropico 7 in the old, darker setting. The new parts are not particularly popular precisely because of the transition to a cartoonish, not serious setting. Главный козырь этой игры является стиль. Благодаря ему, ты неплохо погружаешься в эпоху карибского кризиса. Графика (хоть и устарела) но приятна глазу. Минус этой игры в том, что она лёгкая (лично я с лёгкость прошёл всю кампанию) и мало активностей в самой игре (это частично добавили в последующих частях)

Прошу вас рассмотреть возможность создать новую тропико 7 в старом, более мрачном сетинге. новые части не особо заходят именно благодаря переходу к мультяшному, не серьёзному сетингу. Попробуйте создать одновременно сложный и привлекающий сетингом стратегию про карибского диктатора. Надеюсь это предложения поддержат все. Спасибо.

1) Для своего времени была довольно хорошей стратегией, пусть и не без греха, игра скорее выделялась своим антуражем и подходом чем игровым процессом, хотя и он был на хорошем уровне и даже сейчас не плохо играется.
2) На самом деле с учетом времени я бы рекомендовал начинать сразу с 4-ой части, а эту пропустить так-как особой разницы не будет, разве что графика будет в 4-ой части получше да механик побольше.
3) На время можете не смотреть, оно не соответствует реально затраченному времени на игру, так-как изначально проходилась за пределами Стима,а потом уже была получено подарком и пройдена ещё раз в автономном режиме.
Tropico 3 - лучшая кампания среди всех градостроительных игр.
Плюсы:
Геймплей - вот казалось бы, добавить политические нотки и игра заиграет новыми красками, я попробовал много градостроителей, на Java мобилах и на ПК: CIty Life 2008 Edition и Cities XXL, но мне там чего-то не хватало... И я понял чего, но и здесь не хватает того чего нет в выше перечисленных играх, большой срок игры, а не временной промежуток. Да, есть песочница, но это всё не то. Касаемо политических ноток, мне понравилось что США как и в реальной жизни, могут спокойно припереться на твой континент и захватить его, как они делали это в Ираке, Афганистане и т.п, соответственно за нефтью. Я как настоящий русский, выбирал постоянно коммунизм. Вообще США здесь даже делают бунты и цветные революции. Странно что с СССР я такого мало замечал, они типа тоже присылали агентов, но СССР не устраивали революции как любят это делать убогое государство под название США...
Графика - приятная, выглядит даже сейчас хорошо.
Персонажи и таланты - да, здесь вы можете создать своего Президента, дать ему навыки и отрицательные черты, что мега приятно. А можно выбрать готовых, известных личностей.
Стилистика - мне нравится стилистика островов или латинская со времён Just Cause 3, уж так сложилось, есть в данной стилистике что-то, что цепляет меня.
Минусы:
Вылеты и оптимизация - бывали вылеты, оптимизация странная, даже на низких порой лаги вылезают, + игра не даёт выставить мне 60 ГЦ, автоматом переставляет в 59 ГЦ, изначально играл на 25 ГЦ... Маразм. При включении Вертикальной синхронизации фпс всегда 25, даже когда я выставил 60 ГЦ...
Кампания - я рад что тут она есть, но последние миссии, простите меня, дрочь. Как бы ты не пытался угодить жителям, они будут пытаться тебя свергнуть, вечно всем не довольные крипы, особенно забавно, когда у них ЗП высокая, но они требуют её повышение ))
Нет русского языка - как бе... Его нет.
Итог: хорошая игра, пока что лучший градостроительный симулятор в который я играл на ПК.
Ужасный игровой баланс. Ощущается непродуманность.

Текстуры прям веят атмосферой Far Cry 3 , очень понравилось , учитывая что это тоже 3 часть XD
Pozitivní je, že si konečně můžete nastavit vlastní charakteristiky svého prezidenta. Hratelnost a hudba výborná. Naopak negativně bych viděl nízkou obtížnost proti předchozím dílům a nenastavení cílů u sandbox režimu.

Um clássico game de gerenciamento de cidade eternizado na história do gênero, onde você pode brincar de ditador (ou democrata, ao seu gosto), é um dos melhores Tropico's da franquia, contendo uma das melhores trilhas sonoras de todos os tempos nos games (sem exagero!).

Classic of gaming and probably one of the best of the tropico series. Good balance of simplicity and yet difficulty to master. Would recommend.
