Yes, you can play TRON RUN/r in VR using the completely FREE UEVR mod by Praydog. You can also play it in 1st person in VR if you use the Flatscreen to VR Modding community profile for the game (I made the 1st person profile). You can use motion controllers as a gamepad as well.

Game is an absolute blast to play in VR, especially in 1st person. However, the "load out" screen menu does have one of the UIs that do not render correctly. They render basically behind you. I'm sure someone more experienced in modding UEVR than me could easily fix that though.

Game actually has VR files in it that Sanzuru Games left behind. I'm not sure why they gave up on the VR idea. This game is perfect for VR ... if you have the VR legs for it. Game ran steady 90 fps on my RTX 5090 with everything on high.

It's a TRON-themed infinite runner. The stages are fun and varied, the challenge curve is pretty smooth, the visuals are top-notch, and the music - a heavy electronica score by Giorgio Moroder and Raney Shockne - is pitch perfect.

It's no award-winner. It's an infinite runner based on a movie that was already six years post-release when the game launched. But if you enjoy infinite runners, TRON, and/or electronic music, you'll find something to enjoy here.

Although this game is indeed not TRON 2.0, by all means, TRON 2.0 is another level game. However! Also, I think the devs never really thought through or about this, but in many other languages "RUN/r" part of the title sounds like [runner] (in English it would sound like [runnar]) which actually suits the game so well, like "TRON RUNNER", that I have my suspicions that it was done on purpose.

Já tinha jogado no smartphone jogos "runner", como Temple Run, mas nunca para valer. TRON RUN/r foi uma surpresa, primeiro porque não sabia que existia esse tipo de jogo para PC, e segundo a expansão das possibilidades que trouxeram. É arcade, casual, com gráficos bonitos, boa trilha sonora, e que entrega mais que outros jogos do gênero.

TRON RUN/r tem alguns modos de jogo, os que se destacam são: o "disc" (que contém uma série de fases que consistem em desafios de plataforma, que envolvem não só pular de lá para cá, mas voar, andar nas paredes, arremessar disco contra inimigos, entre outras possibilidades), o "cycle" (são fases com a moto, que lembram bastante uma corrida contra o tempo, mas com obstáculos e inimigos, e o "stream" (fases geradas com uma mistura de entre o "disc" e o "cyle", com placar online). A DLC "Outlands" oference mais 16 fases alternando entre "disc" e "cycle", mas com cenários novos. O modo "disc" é realmente o que destaca, e é bem instigante. Antes de iniciar as fases é possível selecionar o personagem, personalizar as cores, além de escolher uma moto entre os modelos disponíveis (no caso, é só uma mudança estética), o que ajuda a diversificar um pouco a experiência, que a acaba ficando repetitiva com o tempo. Após completar as fases de jogador individual no modo "disc" e "cycle", o que te prenderia na experiência seria o modo "stream" para disputar os placares online, mas infelizmente os servidores estão desligados agora em 2025.

Para os que estão procurando uma experiência de plataforma casual e diferente, TRON RUN/r é uma boa pedida. Agora se você está esperando algum tipo de enredo, pode passar longe. Uma pena os servidores estarem foram do ar.

Completei o jogo em um sistema Linux utilizando o SteamPlay (Proton 10-3) sem problemas.

It works on the Steam Deck fine as long as you have internet connection, otherwise it crashes into some black screen/sleep mode, kind of.
But it doesn't work on my desktop, at least, not on Windows 11.

It's pretty much abandoned by Disney and the developers, which is a shame, it's a really fun game that is just as entertaining nowadays as it was years ago.
Hopefully some modders will tag along so we can keep this game alive, maybe also solve the issue with the in-game currency, you need to purchase bits in order to have your skill/companion, yet, microtransactions were stopped, so, if you get the ultimate edition you're stuck with the base 11k currency, which eventually you run out of.

Shame on Disney/Sanzaru for abandoning such a cool game, and abandoning it in a very janky half broken state, they could've at least made sure it still functions even if they decided updating it constantly isn't worth their time anymore.

Excelente juego, y los DLC tienen cntenido de las dos películas y la serie, es una lastima que no integraran este tipo de gameplay en Tron Identity o Cataclyst ni que le volviera a hacer publicidad a estos tres juegos ahora que viene la nueva película Tron Are. La mejor sección es la de motos de luz con todos los skins para las motos.

This is a game that looks great. The graphics are good, the world looks like Tron, and the soundtrack is pretty good. I wouldn't recommend it though unless you are a big Tron fan. There is nothing inherently wrong with this title in and of itself. The problem is with this type of game. Infinite Runners are not terrible in short game sessions, but they get old really quick. If you like runners this game looks great and is one of the better runners. Unfortunately looking great is not the same as being fun. Like most runners it is extremely repetitive. The other problem with runners is also on display here, and that is that there is very little in the way of story. I would only recommend for die hard fans of the franchise and of the runner genre. Otherwise I would save your money.

Es un juego de carreras con 2 modos principales, el de la moto tradicional, que es por tiempo. Y uno que vas corriendo a pie, con un disco para romper obstaculos, podes caminar por paredes y tenes como un planeador para ir lento "planeando" y no caerte en momentos donde hay precipicios. Tambien en ese modo tenes una mochila de oxigeno que se recarga agarrando puntos.

Juego generico, pero como es tematica TRON, con los graficos hermosos, sonidos, musica y ambientacion que conlleva, se hace jugable.
Lo que es bastante doloroso es el hecho de que tenga DLCs que realmente no se justifican por su precio afuera del valor del titulo comun.
Tiene logros y CROMOS que mejoran algo el valor del titulo.
7/10 - Es bueno en la ejecucion visual y de jugabilidad masomenos, en otros aspectos, deja que desear y bastante

Super fun endless runner based around one of my favorite franchises. Nice to actually turn off the game's music, load up an 80s rock playlist and just go to town in the endless mode.

The set levels are fun and I enjoyed going through and beating each of them with the highest rating.

Though, sometimes the game is a bit buggy and you'll clip and either take damage or lose your endless run, which is frustrating but happens rarely enough to not be a complete deal breaker.

Sad to have gotten the game though after support for the servers were shut down so I never got to experience any of the online challenges or be able to get the achievements that are now locked behind a defunct feature (completionists turn the other way if you didn't have the foresight to buy the game 9 years ago)

In no world is this something I'd pay for on PC. Mobile sure, but this is not good. I'd waited a while for this to feel like a worthwhile sale and I still felt like a wasted money. While it's better than a mobile equivalent game, its still a shallow and repetitive constant running game that's light on content, even with the outlands DLC. Speaking of DLC, I love how the classic representation is locked behind DLC. But anyway, the game is not only shallow, its flawed. Performance issues can interrupt game play. The foot sections are easily the worse of the 2 modes, as some of the hazards are a dice roll if they work properly or not. My favorite is the grind rails as hitting the button to grind will sometimes cause you to go right through it and fall to the ground. The light cycles are a little better, but these are just water down time trials of light cycle racing from the Evolution games. While not terrible, nothing about the game is good. Its just.. meh.

This is a decent runner game with tons of characters and games and maps to play and adequately challenging with some neat rewards to keep the game fresh and change the way you play the game and keep the game interesting but it is a little pricey but I liked and think it was worth for any tron fan and its a good game on its own for just anyone who's into the genre.

No está mal, esta entretenido; Tienes 16 levels de running, 16 de carreras de cibermotos (lo que más me ha gustado), y 1 level (creo que sin final, solo con tu record de tiempo) en donde se mezclan el running y las cibermotos, y en donde los escenarios se generan procedimentalmente (creo), con lo cual nunca será el mismo escenario. Puedes encontrarlo en internet a menos de 2€. Lo que te cuestan 2 cañas en el bar.

When I first saw this game, I thought this was a cheap cash in on a cool IP. I'm glad to report that I was wrong.

I'm a huge fan of both the original TRON as well as the 2000s sequel movie and Cartoon Series. This game nails the aesthetic of both Uprising and Legacy and even expands on it a bit. If you're a fan of auto-runners like temple run or sonic dash, this game takes it a few steps further with decently challenging levels and multiple game-play modes. Disc Running, Light Cycling, and a marathon mode that mixes both previously mentioned modes. The game offers leader boards for every level and even though I am personally not super competitive with this type of game, I can see people using this feature. I can even see the speed-running community taking this game to the limit and perfecting every level.

Even with all the positives, I don't really know if it is worth a full $20. More if you want the extensions. Even though its a good game and a great addition to the Tron franchise, it feels a little light for the price. Not a ton of voice clips or customization options (mainly colors and gender options, as well as a pretty cool inclusion of some OG characters) to make the world fill built out. Base game only has 16 levels per game mode, and the marathon mode is fun but difficult unless you get really good at both modes. I don't know about the extender bundles because I don't own them, but I assume it adds more levels to each mode. If so, I may get them in the future if they're on sale (or if I end up feeling the need for some more TRON).

If this game goes on sale and you like TRON, buy it. If it goes on sale and you like auto-runners, buy it. If you like both TRON AND auto-runners, buy it, even if its not on sale!

Like platforming, racing, and TRON? Then you will probably enjoy this game. It has the sleek and cool look, sound, and feel of the TRON world, and the gaming elements are smooth. With the online functions being dead, there are some parts of the game that stand out for their uselessness, but overall, it's a good time for fans of these types of games. I recommend this for fans of runner-on-rails games, though hardcore gamers would want more depth and there's nobody but yourself to compete against. There's really two modes of running (without or with endless), or cycling - All on rails, 16 levels each except for endless. I would ignore all reviews before June of 2023, because there's been some changes to the game, for better or worse.

Here is what you need to know:
+Visuals are decent, SFX is serviceable, and music fits though became forgettable to me since it didn't fit my electronica tastes (last such soundtrack I enjoyed was dnb from Descenders)
+The in-game currency store is down, but it is relatively easy to get "bits" in game to buy powerups as long as you aren't dying really early in a level. I could get a minimum of 150 bits per run, which is what I'd normally spend for the two types of power ups (one is triggerable and one is always on until companion destroyed) you are allowed where each type has multiple choices at varying costs.
+Runs are generally a rush with gradual introductions of new elements to take on. So I recommend playing most or all of Disc/runner before endless Stream.
-No sense of progression other than beating levels, getting stars which do nothing, or beating your own high score. Leaderboards appear to be down as only one name showed on the global list, and the Friends list was stuck "loading". Also...
-Weekly challenge+leaderboard for endless stream are also down.
?Cycle control could've been better, but serviceable.
+Disc controls worked well for me, as I had nobody to blame but myself for lost lives.
-There's no story at all, which is slightly disappointing compared to other Tron or Disney games, though I don't view it as important for this type of game (runner).

Happens to be extremely overpriced, and that Ultimate Edition is what you really need.
Its 34€ for 6 hours of content for runner game.

Just so happens that the game itself is well made, it was a fun 8 hours or so before i decided to move on to something else.
Obstacles are easy to understand, incoming attacks are detectable.
It doesn't ask impeccable reaction, and it's simply too short to progressively get harder and harder. DLC does bring some new challenges at least.
Though it does like to punish mistakes and mistimed inputs. losing a life won't stop you from completing a level, what Tron Run likes to do is, reset your point multiplier instead, just so you finish below the objective
The one thing that took me a while to get used to is the short delay between inputs. So let's say you hit slide too soon, you cant immediately slide twice or go from slide directly to flight. Its intentionally design to screw you over

Помимо акробатики вам доступен метательный диск, которым можно побеждать противников и пробивать стены. На каждый забег можно выбирать дронов-компаньонов, которые дают различные бонусы вроде увеличения множителя очков или защитного щита.

Помимо стандартного бега с акробатикой доступен режим светоциклов, который требует особой сноровки и привыкания. DLC добавляют различные костюмы из фильмов и дополнительную серию уровней.

ENG A runner based on the TRON film series. As one of the programs, you have to run towards the access point. I was pleased that, unlike other games of this genre, you are pushed to take action. The character can roll, dash to the side, run along walls, jump, and even hover. In addition to acrobatics, a throwing disc is available to you, with which you can defeat opponents and break through walls. Companion drones can be selected for each run, which provide various bonuses such as an increase in the score multiplier or a protective shield.

In addition to the standard run with acrobatics, a light cycle mode is available, which requires special skill and getting used to. The DLC adds various costumes from the movies and an additional series of levels.

Of the minuses, I can name only long loading menus and levels. In general, a very cheerful game that can be recommended to fans of runners and the virtual world of Tron.

Played this game a lot on PS4 and had to get it here as well. In my opinion this is still the best runner game on PC. Great setting, amazing graphics and very smooth/polished gameplay. Special movement like wall running or gliding feels especially good and you can master things like last second evades to increase your highscore. Maybe my favorite thing are the race parts where you drift along the tracks (with drifting controls similar to Sonic Allstar Racing = best), try to find the perfect line and kick your rivals from bikes like in Road Rash.

I wish the endless mode would still have functioning leaderboards/weekly challenges, but at least it's still playable.

I really love Tron and I think for maybe the first few impressions you'll gather from Tron RUN/r will get you in that mood for a while. I don't think though it won't be for long as this game prides itself into being grind heavy, the kind of grinding where it'll dangle the easier option of using actual money to make things easier for you to shave away from the in-game time of grinding. I actually even wondered if this was a mobile port because that's the kind of thing you'd expect from mobile games, since you have a 3-star system here, you have MTX options .etc

But no, this is not the case at all, this appears to have been an experimental release by Disney to see how it'd fare with what we're given here.

The whole premise of the game is that you've got two modes, not counting Endless, where you're on foot and the other you're on the infamous light cycles. You go through 16 levels per mode, collecting bits, throwing your disc at threats, unlock other abilities through the purchase of said bits (or through MTX) all the while doing it in one very linear track. There is no room to explore, it's just do things the best way you can and go through repeats necessary for better results. Rinse and repeat.

And that kind of gameplay in a very inviting digitized world of TRON is kinda saddening, for it to be treated like this. The game is visually pleasing, it'll make you feel like you're in the TRON universe. But with the shallow aspects that holds this game down and the passive expectancy for you to throw even more money down than what you've already paid for to get the game, is a shame.

Plus, I feel it could've done better with tutorials. The ones where they freeze things on you for a moment to show you what you need to do, but they'll do it inconveniently where you need to do something else in a second's notice. That could've been done so much better.

I hate to not recommend but that's what I've gathered from this game - could've done better.

Good temple run clone, horrible game.

Requires tons of grinding to even think of getting 3 stars on a lot of the levels, because you need bits to buy power ups for high scores, and those power ups are the only way to even break 1 star on some levels. Restarting the level or dying will just eat your bits and you're straight out of luck on the bits you used to get high scores. If you buy the deluxe edition (which comes with all dlc and 11k bits to start with) you can have easy access to get power ups at the start. But otherwise, it's a pure slog to try and get bits for powerups because one little mistake can ruin runs.

The running gameplay and lightcycle stuff is fine. Running gameplay has a lot more going for it than the lightcycle sections as you can jump, slide, grind on rails, glide through the air, wall run, and even throw your identity disc to derezz enemies or break walls.

Lightcycle gameplay is sort of traditional race against the clock to get to the end, you have to go through check points to gain time to stay in the level and make it to the end, you can drift to make turns easier, break, accelerate, attack enemies on your sides, and do tricks on ramps for more points, but it's nothing you havent seen in kart racing games before.

The game also was a live service or whatever type game and the servers are down now (only 1 year into it's release) which renders 2 achievements in this game impossible to complete. It was also the only way to purchase bits with real money but you can buy the deluxe edition to obtain 11k bits to start with, but I don't think it's worth it at all unless you want the dlc costumes and map pack.

My biggest gripe with this game however is the lack of steam cloud saves, you can't transfer saves between your pc and steamdeck (the latter of which I put all of my hours into). The game also bugged out on me and deleted my save along with all of my bits and stars rendering all of my hours pointless. So be wary as you can't back it up to steams cloud and you have to do the backup yourself (which is stupid).

If you are a fan of "runner" type games, this one is very fun! The runs are a total rush. However, the game has no plot nor do you "level up" your character. The only sense of progression is trying to get the max of three gold stars for perfect completion of each level.

Here are some tips for new players:

1. The "red" power-ups that you can optionally buy before each level (on the left side of the screen) are not "always on." You must press 'Y' during the run to activate them, and they stay active for several seconds. They are single-use BUT there are floating purple boxes in the levels which you can hit with your disk to re-charge the power up.

2. The "data piercing energy" one does excellent damage against tanks. Also, destroying green data barriers does give points, and data piercing can help burst through thick walls for more points.

3. The blue power-ups, on the right side of the screen, are always-on if you buy one.

4. The bit-doubler power-up is not good for trying to make runs more profitable. Its cost negates most of the extra bits gained, since it is not an always-on powerup, Its primary use is to increase your score so you can get all three stars on hard runs.

5. If you need to grind for bits, level 3 is an easy runs that rewards high bits and can be completed without any power-ups

genuinely a pretty fun runner game. the aesthetics are kind of busy and the bright lights can be distracting at times, but it makes up for in fairly smooth physics that make pulling off huge combos feel satisfying. The music is honestly pretty great too I wouldn't mind a soundtrack dlc. The biggest con is that it has NO online support (apparently d*sney pulled the plug less than a year after release) I would've loved to go head to head and compare scores. For fans of TRON however, its a decent time waster that features your favorite characters if you buy the dlc. Overall, I liked it, but probably only because I am desperate for TRON content these days

If you have ever wondered what a runner game would play like if it had properly designed levels instead of randomly (and at times unfairly) generated levels, TRON RUN/r is that game. This review assumes all DLC installed and covers all aspects of the game minus the multiplayer leaderboards (which are now disabled).

TL;DR: Sanzaru makes excellent games and this one is no exception although it comes with some caveats. If you are a TRON fan or simply love the art style, buy the game. If you're looking for a superbly designed and challenging runner game, buy this game. If you have no tolerance for challenging levels later on and expect a cakewalk throughout, this game is not for you.

There is very very short lived interest in the graphics, and the gameplay is that of a half-idle mobile game. If that can be called a gameplay for a computer game... Also, its a by to win game overall.
