Terrible game. Starting a single player match against a bot takes 10 minutes to load. Like bro I run triple A games instantly no loading what do you mean. Searched up the internet and its common issue cause the dev suk and can't program correctly.

Overall a pretty boring tower defense game in my opinion. I think this game is mostly based on PVP, which might make it better? You have two resources to manage, gold and xp. gold is used to buy units, and xp is from how long a unit lasts. You then purchase various upgrades. I just felt a bit bored waiting for the waves. The game also crashed, and had some performance issues

As others have said the single player is lacking, and almost nobody plays it anymore, but even still it's just an awesome game.

This game is so fun. But the first year or two it came out they had a tournament that they were going to give away real life trophies. I placed for a trophy and never got it.

Game is absolute trash. Crashes in the middle of the game over and over, there is no way to save. In short it's 100% a complete waste of money. Shame because the game is actually fun until it takes a dump.

Should be removed and delisted as the game is dead and basically unplayable... It is sad it's gone but games with such a MP focus should not remain when the servers are inoperable and there is no backend support since the studio is gone and no one is maintaining the game.
The presentation is light-hearted and the strategy is well planned. A challenging and pleasant game.
Quirky and fun Tower Defense / Offense game which is still fun in Single Player only (which it is unfortunately mostly limited to now). Definitely worth picking up at this price.

Un jeu de "TowerDefense", en français un tour défense, qui n'est malheureusement pas traduit en francais et qui est surtout fait pour jouer avec des amis. On passe de petit moment agréable mais on se lasse assez vite du jeu ,qui a été faut le dire abandonné maintenant.
En conclusion , un jeu a prendre si vous aimez le genre et surtout si vous avez des amis/personnes avec qui y jouer , seul le jeu est a ne pas prendre.

[b]Gameplay[/b]
“Tower Wars” ist offensichtlich ein Tower-Defense, allerdings schickt uns hier keine übermächtige KI die Feinde, sondern unser Gegenüber. Denn während wir unsere eigene Verteidigung aufbauen, schicken wir dem Gegner unsere NPCs auf den Hals und steigern damit unser regelmäßiges Einkommen. Mehr Einkommen bedeutet wiederum eine noch größere Einkommenssteigerung und eine bessere Verteidigung. Dadurch baut man sich untereinander ein merkwürdiges Abhängigkeitsverhältnis auf, da das Erledigen von NPCs natürlich auch für Geld sorgt. Die verschiedenen Türme und auch das Hauptquartier lassen sich extrem hochrüsten und die Level sorgen für spannende Abwechslung. Eine Partie “Tower Wars” kann nach 5 Minuten zuende sein, aber wenn man sich den Ball gut zuspielt, wird daraus auch schnell mal eine Stunde.

Es gibt eine Kampagne zum üben, bei dem wir gegen witzige Steampunkgegner spielen können. Allerdings ist da jetzt keine Geschichte mit verbunden.
[b]Grafik/Sound[/b]
Die Grafik von “Tower Wars” ist eine Mischung aus bunter 3D Grafik und schön gezeichneter Porträts. Auf jeden Fall wirkt es aufgedreht und trotzdem irgendwie entspannend. Dazu kommt ein Stil, der mich schon sehr an Steampunk erinnert. Wir brauchen mehr Zahnräder! Musikalisch ist das Spiel auch gut dabei und bietet eine ausgefallene Soundkulisse.
[b]Fazit[/b]
„Tower Wars“ ist eine tolle 1 vs. 1 Herausforderung. Die Spielerbasis ist zwar eher klein, aber überwiegend habe ich mich eh damals mit einem Freund von mir angelegt. Genau das würde ich auch empfehlen: Sucht euch einen Freund zum Spielen. Das Spiel hat eine lockere Art und sorgt für ein merkwürdiges Gefühl der Verbundenheit zwischen zwei Spielern, da man gleichzeitig irgendwie miteinander aber eigentlich gegeneinander arbeitet. „Tower Wars“ ist auf jeden Fall eine schöne Erfahrung, die man mit jemanden teilen sollte. Es ist ein Spiel, dass mit soviel Liebe gemacht wurde und gleichzeitig so furchtbar unbekannt ist.
Es gibt viele Tower-Defense-Titel da draußen. Competitive tower defense where you build towers to protect yourself *while* sending units of your own to attack your enemy. I personally haven't ever seen this before, but apparently it was done first in WC3?

Very well done. Funny voice lines, beautiful art & animation, and catchy soundtrack, all of which fit perfectly into the steampunk vibe.
[b]Gameplay:[/b]
Addicting, with a caveat (see below). Games can be very tense in the beginning as you race to build your economy, towers, and unit upgrades before your opponent. I always get great satisfaction from arranging my units to send out, and creating good tower mazes is an interesting puzzle. It is possible to react to your opponent on the fly, and change your towers quickly to prepare for the current wave. Real-time strategy is a big component, especially at the start of matches. The AI opponents rapidly get extremely tough, which can provide a decent challenge for solo players.
[b]Replayability:[/b]
This is where the game suffers most. In many respects this is a "solved" game - once you have a good grasp of what to prioritize at the start of matches, the game becomes more of a simple race to execute your strategy faster than your opponent. There is a good-yet-basic variety of towers and units to build/recruit, but I think the game would have benefited GREATLY from the devs' original intention to include a larger variety of towers and units to build a "menu" from for each game. Alas, the studio is no more and the matchmaking servers are kaput (you can still play with steam friends though).
[b]Recommendation:[/b]
Personally I love the theme and concept of this game enough to keep coming back to it every few years and re-learn how to play it best. If you're interested in this game primarily because you want to compete with other people, maybe give it a pass as that isn't easily done in this game nowadays. If you love classic TD and/or steampunk, this is worth the money in my opinion and can give you a wonderfully fresh spin on the genre. For 10-14 hours, at least.

I played this ages ago, and while going through some of my backlog I came across this again. Apparently achievements were added since I've played, though it hurts my heart that most of them are for ranked matches when I see so many complaints of servers being dead and various crashes. I cannot confirm that since my experience is dated, but I remember the single and coop experiences to be entertaining.
Fans of tower defense will find comfort here. While it doesn't particularly do anything new that you couldn't find in a Starcraft or Warcraft custom map, it does do standard tower defense stuff well enough for a run through. While it's only $8 normally, if you like tower defense I wouldn't sleep on this if it goes on sale.
Very good game, reccomend it a lot, one of the best in the TD genre if you ask me. It's no longer updated, but the game is complete so it doesn't need to be.

Mi hijo recientemente descargó Northgard y en menos de una semana, ya había jugado durante más de 20 horas. Esto fue terrible para mí, ya que ya era bastante difícil para mí pasar tiempo con mi hijo, ya que él siempre sale con sus amigos o simplemente mira videos en Tiktok. Este juego me recordó que hay diversión en todo, y nos ha traído tanto a mí como a mi hijo muchos recuerdos felices.
It's a fine game, pretty typical of the genre and nothing glaringly wrong with it. I would recommend it if the multiplayer servers were still up, but as it is you only have 10 bots of varying difficulty to play against. No campaign or anything.

I don't genuinely recommend this game, as it's pretty much dead these days, but I think it would be unfair to give it a negative review.
This game is a genuine masterpiece that was overlooked. By god is this game absolutely gorgeous. Whoever the artists are for this game should give themselves a standing ovation because this is one of the most creative, characterized, and GORGEOUS games of all time. I remember when I first played this game some odd 10 years ago I thought it looked absolutely stunning and I still think it does today. The UI in this game has a lot of character but it loses zero functionality. The only issue is this game wasn't built for today's larger monitors- but that's expected.
The overall direction of this game is just perfect. The gameplay design is great and fun. It's really difficult to get this kind of gameplay idea executed correctly and they nailed it. There's some great back and forth tug of war and the positive feedback loops are managed and designed quite well. Have to focus on defense for a bit? Well that means your opponent is forgoing their defense which can give you the perfect opportunity to knock them down a peg.
The writing is very, very, very charming in this. This will touch up on the art direction thing again but all of the towers, animations, characters are characterized. There's cute little lines that play when you unlock a unit and hearing the king yell "Single file, and to the death!" every time I send out my lil army brings a smile to my face.
There will never be a Tower Wars 2. Which is a damn shame. But at least the bots in this game are pretty good. You'll get your ass handed to you by the level 1 bot until you understand the game but once it clicks then you'll have a good time. Enjoy this game for what it was rather than what it wasn't.

A cool TD game and quiet the challenge. Some of higher skill
levels seem damn impossible but it can be hilarious and frustrating all
at once (minus the expletives). However, the lower screen player menu
is little too small and compact (1920 x 1080 on Acer Predator ) and can
be be annoying for fast upgrading during an enemy onslaught due to the
overly small size of button controls. Great game nevertheless.
It's a good tower offense/defense! The comedic steampunk style and writing is sure to give you a good laugh! The online community isn't active to my knowledge, but the AI is good and fun to fight, and you can still play with friends in 1v1/2v2/3v3.
Also has an awesome menu theme

Really good game if you have the patience for it. Can't for the life of me figure out how to beat the computer on meat vs machine though. I don't even know if it's due to difficulty, even just on level 2 I'm stuck, it really feels like the enemy computer just straight up gets more resources than you. From the very start I struggle to send out as many enemies of them even if I expend less money on structures. And I'm putting as much into my mines as I can spare. Really feels like the computer cheats in this game or just has computer perfect resource management that I can't keep up with. And this is only level 2 difficulty. even on level 1 I struggled to maintain the lead.
Enough about how bad I am at the game though, it's a fun game more or less, a good tower defense title.
To be clear, it is worth $10 or less for a fun tower defense experience. That being said, it wont be your new favorite.
I want to love this game but it has simply failed to entertain. It feels like there is only one correct way to play, no matter how you put your towers. The units feel linear. There are very few comeback mechanics so the game is always decided early. The camera is restricted to just a few degrees of movement which limits your perspective and makes the game feel even more repetitive than it is. For how much attentiveness it requires, it simply doesn't give much back.

An uninspired, bland and above all else abandoned game.
As far as tower defences go this one does not stand out with anything in particular. The goal is to build your towers to protect against the enemy's forces while you send similar forces their direction. You have a few units with increasing price, each better than the last, same with unit and tower upgrades. So there's no semblance of a "strategy" or a "build" that better games present. The POV is narrow and the screen move is floaty, so any precision is also out of the question. You cannot even click the enemy units to see their upgrade levels to give you even a vague idea of what they might be investing in. There's only 10 single player missions with supposedly increasing difficulty which actually are pretty much the same mission on slightly different maps. So clearly the game was intended as a multiplayer game...BUT...
...then the game commits one of the cardinal sins of gaming, which is to add achievements that require extremely active multiplayer (such as "beat a dev" or "rank so and so in ranked season"). Too bad that not only is the community gone but apparently the studio is dead and the very servers are down. So you can forget about getting about 80% of the achievements. If you look at the forums at the multiple complaints on this you'll see people saying nobody has dev access now, and yet..this is still being sold on Steam, so someone is making a profit and not bothering to address a major issue.
If you're an achievement hunter - give this one a hard pass as you'll only ruin your completion %. If you're not an achievement hunter you should still give this one a hard pass as it simply provides no depth or enjoyment whatsoever.

I'm unable to even run this game in 2021, it chokes up my computer and gets stuck on loading. The interface is also way too small in 4K, and there is no UI scaling. It feels very outdated. It was fun in 2016 i think.
