A good Game for its price vaule, I suggest getting the game on sale since its the best vaule possible. I got about 2.5 hours on the game but you can beat it in less. I just wanted all characters to be unlocked. Overall a Good game just wish the devs spent more time onto one big game.
Toree 3D is a bite-sized platformer that gives you a small selection of 9 hand-crafted levels and asks you to stay as long as you like. If you want to rush through it all, and just beat and see every stage, you can do that in under an hour (this is what most people do), but for me, most of the fun was chasing the S ranks, a couple of which took some concerted grinding -- nothing too serious (I got all S ranks in 6 hours after all), but definitely a challenge for even the most experienced platformer fans. I'd even say that for its most infamous stage (Neo Osaka), there will be some players who will hit a brick wall and not be able to S rank that one at all.
There's a lot to like about this one. The base mechanics are dead simple: Toree can jump, double jump, and dash .. and that's it. You'll be holding that dash button the entire game (a la Super Mario Bros), so get ready to do some funky claw grip so you can also have your thumb over the camera controls at all times. Experienced platformer players are probably used to all this stuff, as Toree doesn't eschew convention at all, but rather embraces its simplicity and retro roots while having the performance and feel of a modern game. That final note might scare some folks, if they're looking for something more classic, but I'd say for the most part what it borrows from the modern era is all the good stuff: yes the coyote time is egregious and the landing collision is incredibly generous, but the way it is implemented just make for a higher skill ceiling actually. It's a speed game by people who clearly know what they're doing.
I wouldn't be surprised if this game is a gateway for some people to enter speedrunning, actually. Going for S ranks on the tougher stages has you contemplating speed strategies, and since the mechanics are so simple, it's small optimizations that get you there. That layering process of new strategies to slowly get your time down is part of the addictive loop that makes people love speedrunning, and it's present in a digestible way in this one. At some point, you would likely want to graduate from this game, and go to a game with more skill expression, but Toree is a wonderful start.
Level layouts are the highlight of course, as is true with any good platformer. Every level is special in its own way, and comes with a few unique mechanics which it asks you to master. Moving platforms, wind tunnels, boost pads, big hills (I LOVE the feel of this one) .. there is so much packed into each. None of the stages are more than a couple minutes long (and there's only 9 of them), but every bit of it is quality. No fluff, all gas. One small note is that the S rank times are quite uneven: for some stages it's very generous and I got it really quickly, and then for a couple of the harder ones you have to do genuine speedrun strats. I actually kind of enjoyed this unevenness, as the first few S ranks lured me into just going for them all, but I did find it kind of weird that the S rank for Neo Osaka is only 5 seconds (!!) off the speedrun WR time, but Starry Sky's S rank is a whopping 10 seconds off of its WR time. 5 seconds is a world of difference in a speed game and this amounts to a major difference in how easy or hard some S ranks can be.
I like the presentation ~a lot~. Feels very Sega Saturn-y (I'm thinking Ninpen Manmaru), harkening back to the birth of the genre. The music is solid as well, with 2 soundtracks you can choose from. Sound effects are cute (I love the sounds Toree makes) and the cutesy aesthetic of running around with your little guy in a 3D world is perfectly borrowed from that era, with a bit of a darker tone here and there.
Overall, Toree 3D is a true homage made by real gamers who get it. Yes, it's short, and most people will blast through it, but I'd contend that even for those people it is still a fun little romp, but for others, people like me, they'll love this little game. Can't wait to play the rest in the series. Great stuff.
really great bite sized game with a great style

cute lil retro platformer, got it for 0.79€, nothing really special about this one though, compared to other games in the niche.
Peak game
Forgiving to complete with a higher degree of challenge if you wish to chase ranks. Is it worth? That's for the rank players and speed runners to decide.
My one warning would be you have to manually control the camera yourself. This is not so hard to do with a second thumbstick, but it can be an obnoxious experience.
It's like that piano from Mario 64 inspired this game 10/10

Oyun kolay baba, parkur yap, yıldızları topla, sonda bossla kapış baba.
Zor bir tarafı yok.
Really cute and fun!!! I love the style (both art and gameplay) and its super simple :)
S-ranking Neo Osaka makes me want to gouge my eyes out
Really ,fun and replayable platformer that offers challenge and fun gameplay. The S ranks are great and hard but fun to get. (to be fair I've only got the first level at the time i write this :/) I think they're should be more cheap wee fun platformers like this, nothing big and massive just a couple levels that are well designed.
Such a fun little cute games. the gameplay has grounds for a great platformer however, I wish I had more freedom w/ camera controls
Toree 3D, developed and published by Siactro, is a compact yet surprisingly memorable 3D platformer that embraces the spirit of late-1990s console gaming with confidence and charm. Rather than aiming for sprawling worlds or complex mechanics, it delivers a focused, fast-paced experience that feels like a love letter to the early days of polygonal platforming. Its low-poly aesthetic, vibrant color palette, and playful level design immediately evoke the era of early PlayStation and Nintendo 64 titles, yet the game avoids feeling like a mere imitation. Instead, it distills that nostalgic energy into a tight, accessible package built around fluid movement and replayability.
At its core, Toree 3D revolves around speed and simplicity. Players guide the titular bird-like protagonist through a series of linear stages filled with platforms, enemies, hazards, and collectible stars. The control scheme is minimal—running, jumping, and double-jumping form the foundation of traversal—but the responsiveness of movement is what truly elevates the experience. The physics feel snappy and precise, encouraging players to maintain momentum as they leap across gaps and weave through obstacles. The game’s emphasis on flow gives each level a rhythm, transforming straightforward platforming challenges into short bursts of kinetic energy that reward timing and spatial awareness.
Level design plays a key role in maintaining engagement despite the game’s brevity. Each stage introduces slight variations in theme, layout, and pacing, keeping the journey from feeling repetitive. While the levels are relatively short, they are packed with optional stars and time-based rankings that incentivize replaying them to improve performance. This ranking system taps into the arcade-like mentality of chasing better scores, making the experience feel larger than its modest runtime might suggest. Completing a level once is rarely the end; the real satisfaction often comes from mastering its layout and shaving seconds off your completion time.
Visually, Toree 3D thrives on its deliberate retro styling. The angular character models and simple textures are not technical limitations but artistic choices that define its identity. The bright, contrasting environments are easy to read and complement the fast gameplay. There is a certain warmth to its presentation, as if it exists in a parallel timeline where early 3D platformers continued evolving without losing their charming rough edges. The soundtrack supports this tone with upbeat and occasionally quirky tracks that reinforce the lighthearted atmosphere.
Despite its strengths, the game is not without minor flaws. The camera can occasionally struggle in tighter areas or during more vertical segments, leading to moments where depth perception becomes slightly awkward. These issues are generally brief and rarely derail progress, but they can interrupt the otherwise smooth pacing. Additionally, the overall length of the game is short, with most players able to complete the main content in under an hour. For some, this brevity may feel limiting, though the low price point and replay-focused structure help balance expectations.
What sets Toree 3D apart from many small indie platformers is its personality. Subtle surreal or slightly eerie elements occasionally surface within its colorful environments, adding an unexpected layer of charm and intrigue. These touches prevent the game from feeling entirely conventional and give it a distinctive flavor that lingers after completion. It never leans fully into horror or absurdity, but those hints of strangeness contribute to its individuality.
Ultimately, Toree 3D succeeds by understanding its scope and executing it well. It does not attempt to compete with expansive modern platformers; instead, it offers a concentrated burst of nostalgic fun built around tight controls, cheerful aesthetics, and replayable design. For players who appreciate retro-inspired experiences and fast, arcade-style platforming challenges, it delivers satisfying gameplay in a small but polished package. Its brevity may leave some wishing for more, but the quality of its movement and the charm of its presentation ensure that even its short adventure feels worthwhile and memorable.
Rating: 9/10
Great tiny 3D platformer. Got some good music too. Has some VERY slight horror elements in like 3 levels, but it didn't really scare me. And thats saying something since I'm easily scared. For the price, its a great game.
pollo corriendo
More content than your average candy bar and probably cheaper.
Great appetizer game that's made for plataforming fans, and will do a good job of tickling your speedrunner bone. It's one dollar, and well worth it.
it didnt take too long to beat, but i had a very nice time playing it! toree is so cute, and i just love the environment of the levels. the scary stars on the starry sky level did startle me at first tho lol. tbh, i feel like im scamming the devs because this is so cheap. the last level was by far my favorite.
Polished game but no unique mechanic or platform/interaction exists. Just;
basic movement + jumping + running,
moving platforms + platforms that make you go fast.
THAT IS ALL.
And there is no unique or a good combination with them exists.
Also my mouse did not lock and often wondered off to my second monitor. But that might also be a Proton issue.
I would give neutral rating if I could, just for the sake of it being cheap and made me have fun for like 10% of the time I spent on it.
EDIT PLEASE READ: In my review I said I never heard the song in the trailer. I actually went back and replayed each level a bit and then switched the game's 'New Soundtrack' off. Turns out the OLD SOUNDTRACK SLAPS. That's where the real music lies. Sure it's shorter tunes but the ending song for the last level is way better and sounds more 'horror' while the 'new' music was forgetable to me.
Disclaimer: For like $1 dollar this review should be treated less for bang-for-buck, which it's cheap and well put together for what it is, and more like an actual experience
This is a game-jam game. It is a very polished game-jam game. It's impressive but your experience will be 9 levels playing (depending on your taste) repetitive chip tune or nostalgic(?) music (BTW I never heard the song in the current trailer at all during the game so adjust your expectations accordingly). Going through 9 levels of storyless platforming, half of them are the same theme as the previous 4 ones done slightly different. There is no real ending. If you don't like speed running, might not be your thing as after the 9 levels the only other challenge is trying to get the A rank, which you can't do it with unlocked characters, and as far as I'm aware that only gets you another unlocked character which you also can't speed run with. If you get S rank on all 9 levels then you get a Golden Toree. That's it.
Purely for people who really want to support the little guy and love the act of platforming. I think it's fair to have a fair negative review explaining that it wasn't for this particular person as I'm not a nostalgic person, nor enjoy being blinding by neon for little story. I think speed runners are better equiped to say if it is a fun speed run game, but for a platforming game, nothing special. But the creator did good for what they were trying to do in the time they did it. And it's only a buck so if you want to help a small guy out then it's not waste at all.
The level design in this is awful, ESPECIALLY the truck levels. It's very bland and full of moving platform sections that bring the "fast paced platforming" to a screeching halt while you wait for them to get back into position. The devs clearly realized this was a mistake, as there are zero moving platform sections of this type in Toree 2, which is overall much better. Skip this one and go straight to the sequel.
very cute!
This franchise has ruined my mental health and I figure its because im letting it get to my head
10/10 would play for the rest of my life
Trash
Toree 2D when?
very cute, fun and short game <3
You get what you pay for
A fun little platformer! Not as much of a horror game as the PS1 Demo Disk version led me to believe, but still a smart way to hook people on your game!
if you're lowkey bored on a sunday or something and just looking for a game that's quick to beat and digestible then this is worth picking up
In one word simple
In three: Very easy, very short, very fun
Worth the price on sale
bee-utiful
you get what you pay for! its a fun tiny game but not too much to talk about. get it if you have some leftover money.
Fun little game besides the weird horror elements.
Its cute its fun and it jump scared me. What more could you want from a sonic clone that surpasses its source material?!
pretty cool pretty kewl
How do you make 70 cents feel like a waste of money?
I heard the hype and decided to give the game a try, but I did not like what I found. Toree himself controls like garbage. Why are we still using run buttons in the 2020s? Even holding run he feels sluggish. He honestly controls like Donkey Kong in Donkey Kong Country, and I hated that game too. The camera also expects you to do all the work yourself despite their being obvious correct angles in basically every situation. Beyond the controls, the level design isn't interesting in the slightest. I just have no desire to keep playing. I did not finish this game. Neo Osaka was the last straw with its ice bit that took forever to get right. I genuinely don't see any value in this game when decent 3D platformers are not that hard to come by. I'm glad others enjoyed but I thoroughly did not.
very charming little platformer id definitely reccomend
Simple, fun, replayable, hypnotizing, and great designs! 10/10
short, sweet, and less than a dollar on sale
a less polished toree 2, not worth my time. I would refund it but I want the dev to develop more things like toree 2 (and no, toree saturn ain't it)
:)

other than... the whole game being held together on duct tape and not being able to work as intended when on anything but 60fps [which becomes an issue when your monitor is above 60Hz because the game automatically VSYNCS], settings menu being so bare-bones with only invert-camera and music toggle, and some moving objects deciding to randomly not follow their path [making neo-osaka and edge runner a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slog to S rank], ice physics being not the best mechanic ever...
game's cool, i like this game a lot actually. Toree is worth the price and is piss short, play it.
A nice level plateforming!!
Tastes like cardboard
That effing snow ball that developed a scary face with sharp teeth scared the living hell out of me. -6/7
toree
esta bueno
birdee
the game has a cool graphics style and toree is very cute, the parcour is sometimes a bit challenging but often not that hard and the game is easy to finish in 1 hour but it is still a great game for just 1 euro so if u want a small low demanding short parcour game its cool i know thats very niche but for those who are looking for this its great :3
Mudou minha vida
This game is cute and cheap. It also doesn't really put a ton of pressure on the player, which has its pluses and minuses. On the one hand, it really puts the focus back on just enjoying the game and catching the vibe its putting out. On the other hand, there's no achievements, trading cards, or any external/explicit motivations, which for a lot of people will either be a big plus or a big minus.
For me, I see this game as a neat homage to classics of the past that you can pick up and put down at your leisure all for only $0.99 full price. Different folks are going to get more out of it than others, but for this price you could do much worse.
I recommend it - especially if you see it on sale!
Super fun and short little 3D platformer
got bored of it after 2 levels, it feels like a dumbed down simple sonic, where the focus is reaching the goal, but if you wanna be more successful you collect pointless stars until you reach the cap.
except double jump and sprint, and just walking theres nothing to do.
The S in S rank stands for suffering, at least in Neo Osaka.
5 out of 5 game
BUT FIX ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WINDY OCEAN LIKE HOLT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ IT SAYS UNDER A MINUTE BUT I GET 58 SECONDS AND IT'S STILL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ A RANK
Played it and then my account got hacked. But about those secret characters...that's probably the biggest gaming hoax I've ever heard of. They're even have a select screen, and they simply don't exist. No amount of work can get them. I don't know what you're talking about.
a below-average platformer that fails to deliver on both everything it promises and on the "weird elements" within. like mascot horror stapled to a hat in time clone.
S ranking every stage in this game for a university assignment is maybe the worst decision i have ever made. this game is awful and you shouldn't play it
$1 game with more soul in it than most $80 games.
I beat the game in under an hour and I don't think it was particularly fun. I tried to go for all the A ranks, but the game's just not that interesting. Even unlocking the new characters is pointless feeling, and the options are pretty eh. Like I only got full screen by clicking a random button as opposed to it being in the options menu and once I enter the level select there's no way out of it. Also wth happened with the controller, when I plugged mine in, the camera just started spinning around, so I had to switch to Mouse and Keyboard, which was a little awkard by comparison
Got all the s ranks now my hands hurt
Cute game that doesn’t leave a lasting impression due to its short length and basic levels. You get 9 levels and 3 characters with 2 being locked initially. The levels are pretty fun, I’m reminded of Sonic a bit. I’ve completed the entire game in one sitting that took me 34 minutes. This does include finding all the stars but I didn’t care about high scores, I kept getting C. The game might be made with speed runners in mind. I would have liked steam achievements but it might not be a good idea if they include getting high scores. It doesn’t seem like you can get them with normal play.
I’m fairly neutral on the game. It doesn’t do much to make me care a lot. But its existence is inoffensive really. The normal price is €1 and it’s fine. You don’t feel like it’s wasted even with the short length.
Such cute, Much fun, Very cheap, my wallet very happy.
Well, I'm not sure what to say about thsi game sadly except that I regret buying it. Sure it was cheap and there some good stuff. But overall? it wasnt worth it.
The game mechanics felt niche and the movement wasnt satisfying. Neither was collecting the stars as it didnt feel enough rewarding. I really hated the jumpscares that happend in the game as I was expecting to play somenthing relaxing, not tensed.
The good things I can say is that I love the design, i especially love the Soundtrack, whoever did the new one did great job on that as it outstanded it the most. and the level designs of how they looked was great too. The gameplay wasnt, neither was the story as it felt like it was missing stuff.
A round bird with sunglasses and a backpack that runs real fast. I'm amazed this was only 99 cents (45 on the sale) short game but really fun
very cool and cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simple yet extremely short at little over 30 min. Clearly geared towards speed runners, it's got some replayability with unlockable characters. Worth the dollar.
Takes bite-sized to a whole new level. 10/10 I spent my $0.49+tax well.
Toree 3D made me say wee
Excellent
You like fast paced games? You like Retro 3D Platformers?
Toree 3D is just that. Its super short, you will have finished it in under an hour but for 99 cents this is completely fine.
(If you want to S-Rank each level you will get more playtime out of it. Just playing through it normally and collecting all stars will set you somewhere between 45 Minutes to an Hour)
Just a quick, fun adventure.
Amazing 3d platformer. Shoutout to F4MI for the recommendation.
It's either mildly difficult to get all the stars or a something you spend hours if not days perfecting to get s rank to unlock the 3rd secret character.
Get it just because it's a great dollar game.
Very cute little game
if your just playing normaly its not that hard but if your trying to get every s rank like i am its very hard
very good game with a EXTREAMLY good price tag
Very cute, very scray, very fun
Short, sweet, and ABSOLUTELY worth the money. My only real problem with the game is that you sometimes die twice. Other than that honestly minor gripe, it's a fantastic time.
good
toree is very cute :3
Peak
.
o puro suco do plataforma 3d.
Such a hidden gem i highly recommend checking it out
I LOVE TOREE!!!!
In itself, it's not a bad game.
For 99 cents, it's great.
It just suffers from the problem that all small games have in this category: the ranks.
Reaching the A rank works well, but reaching the S rank is simply unfair in half the levels, and in two levels, it's even impossible without your fingers bleeding.
For unknown reasons, small developers like this not only always have to implement a ranking system, but also make reaching the highest rank so difficult that it's disheartening.
It's a shame, but for a single playthrough for 30 minutes, it's okay.
This game is so good for it's price, it's fun, engaging, and has barely any plot, making it a silly game that everyone can enjoy! 9.5/10
I'd give this a neutral rating if I could.
I played through all stages and got all the stars and unlocked Macbat. Then I started playing through a few of the levels again as Macbat but once I realized I couldn't use that character to improve my times I also realized I wasn't really having fun. The idea of speed-running the levels over and over again to try to get S ranking didn't appeal to me. I assume that's how you unlock the 3rd character, but I didn't even care enough to try looking it up.
Can't complain much for $1. It's not a bad game. But I did everything I wanted to do in under 40 minutes and it had no replay value for me. My one real complaint is that even with the camera sensitivity turned all the way up I felt the camera was moving too slow for me to be able to quickly point it in the direction I wanted it to face. So I ended up just using the "snap camera to direction I'm facing" button all the time instead.
Also, it's not obvious from the store page, but when the game says it has "a few weird elements" what it means is that this game was originally made for a game jam where the theme was something like "Haunted PS1 Demo Disc" so there's some very mild "creepy" stuff in the game. Mostly it's just benign-looking things changing and making a sound effect when you get kinda near them. It's as if it's going for jump-scares, except I never found it even remotely scary or even startling. Many times I didn't even really see it because it would happen kind of in the background or in the distance (i.e., in the periphery of my vision) and I was focused on getting the stars right in front of me or making the next jump which was in the other direction so it was often out of sight almost as soon as it began. I'm not even sure if any of the "scary" things can actually harm your character. None of it ever touched me.
