This was my second experience with Zetsubou game, though i had no idea at that time about fact like this.
It’s a visual novel with very limited choice, mostly being very straightforward. There is unexpected turn though, including some nsfw, pretty much came out of nowhere cause nothing hinted at it. So plot is basically what it says in description - teen childhood friends to romance story in school setting. Anything besides that would spoil what happens in game, just know that mostly it’s just that not counting unexpected turn.
Visually it is quite cute polished 2d art that is on edge of serious but still being cute, backgrounds though are nothing to write home about.
Audio is there and as far as i recall does not conflict with gameplay, so it’s fine enough.

Well written and dramatic. A lot more emphasis on story and relationships than porn, so that'll be a plus for some and a minus for others.

As a tomboy enthusiast, i feel that the game was too short, since it only spanned a week while christine was at the MC's house. but i am glad i made the right choices and got the happily ever after ending in 1 run, as that is my canon ending xD.... I feel that Sophie could have been written better and while it was quite annoying that she hit on the MC Abit much even tho the MC and Christine were dating, that helped make the payoff at the end all the more bittersweet. if there was another tomboy-based Visual Novel, definitely would buy! For me the decision process could have been more difficult too in my opinion. I found the choices given quite obvious, but overall i still love this game.

I only say "I recommend" because it is rare for games to explicitly say that this is a dating sim and that one of the choices is a tomboy. I like tomboys. I like how Chris is very assertive. She may look controlling but she is young, she can still learn.
However, I expected more than one tomboy as one of the choice as the title say. Sophie's characterization as a slut behind the facade of an honor student is unnecessary. She could have been, let's say another choice for Kai as equally as honorable as Chris, but no, Sophie has to be demonized thru writing in order for Chris to shine. But Chris is already shining. Sophie could have been an honor student, and another tomboy, and not a girl with wicked motives, and you already have a good contender against the childhood tomboy friend.
Also, way too few characters. Maybe a 5/10 for me, it's Chris's wholesomeness as the sole factor, the 50% but many improvement could have been done. Only buy this discounted.

Nice little short story with two love interests and five different endings. Very solid writing, art and music. I enjoyed it.
В этой игре мне сильно понравился визуал, и я решил приобрести её. Но кроме визуала ничего годного я тут не обнаружил… Сюжет мне не особо понравился, да и главный герой ведёт себя очень-очень тупо! Озвучки в игре нет, а цена на игру слишком завышена! А если вы покупаете игру ради контента 18+, то это большая ошибка! Из контента 18+ тут всего несколько артов (и это даже не секс-сцены). Так как это моя первая игра у этого разработчика, то чисто из-за визуала поставлю положительную оценку.

I think I need help, but more importantly I need a Chris in my life. I don't think this will ever happen so this game will have to do with filling the void in my heart. 9/10 would play again.

Não é complicado de se compreender as escolhas, faça elas como se fosse você no dia a dia, a trilha sonora é presente e cativante em até certo ponto.
Ele não apresentou nenhum problema sequer, ao entrar e sair foram ambos bem fluidos respondendo bem aos comandos do teclado e do mouse. Recomendo para quem curte um Visual Novel Vanilla focado no romance inocente sem nada de muito pesado no desenrolar da hitória.

The big plot twist is that you can get the best ending just by pressing the top option every time. Instead you have to put in progressively more effort for each worse ending. The main dilemma presented in the game is whether you want to end up with your loving childhood tomboy virgin friend, or a human version of that girl from [i]BEASTARS[/i]. I won't spoil which of the two is the best ending but either way the choice is yours. Needless to say, the choice is difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.

The main character is a skin walker named Kai who is disguised as 18 year old boy that is failing to recognize his fellow skin walkers during his failed attempts at SEXUAL conquest. The two skin wal- I mean love interests are Chris and Sophie the Humans, both of them equally masterful in their understanding of basic human interactions. Our lovable reptilian Kai is a SIGMA male who is involved in several money laundering schemes throughout the city of Tomboy topia, but when he's not busy evading the IRS he's struggling to understand basic human speech and interactions as he clumsily attempts to convince YOU the reader that he is indeed a REAL human and not a zucker bot sent to gather your personal info and sell it to our supreme leader Xi Jinping. We follow our hero as he prepares to and, depending on whether you are socially inept or not, engage in riveting conversations that will lead to nefarious acts with a conveniently of age girl named Chris, or use the whole 3 brain cells that the average hormonal teen has to secure a future with Ms. BOOBA herself. This novel is not long by any means yet I feel that what I was subjected to was in direct violation of the Geneva conventions. If you have read and enjoyed this visual novel, I envy your ability to mentally disassociate yourself from the guilt of having this in your steam library.
Just like the the novel, I made sure to use as much word diarrhea as possible. The script was like a mental IED. My mental state has taken a massive L as a result.

Finished the game in 4 hours, which means it's too expensive for the amount of content. The content itself is not what you expect for a game tagged with "sexual content" and with an 18+ patch (which suggests that the devs mean business); ... there is hardly any such content.
Tomboys Need Love Too! is a relatively short visual novel where as the protagonist, you are able to form a romantic relationship with either your longtime childhood friend Christine or the girl you've been crushing on in school, Sophie. Complete with the obligatory indirect kiss, in this visual novel you have a number of different choices that lead to 5 different endings. Regardless of the path you go down, there is a bit of darkness to this story; it isn't just a happy story about the realization of which woman to love.
The art is pretty good throughout, the characters are all very attractive, though with the 18+ patch, some of the CG images might be a little off-putting to some -- I wasn't particularly fond of the out-out-place gape, for example.
I read through all the endings, unlocked all 20 of the gallery images and 7 achievements, squeaking out about 5 hours of playtime. I enjoyed the story (well, stories, depending on your choices) well enough and think its worth picking up at full price.
This was my first VN and I'm not disappointed! The game is lovely! I really enjoyed it!

This game is good if you just want to experience the image of a tomboy childhood friend romance. Past that, it leaves a lot lacking with the other routes you can take. This is apparent when aiming for the "New Life" ending which sums up my complaints.
However, I would still recommend this game because it's a simple concept and it's an alright experience if you have nothing better to do.

Ради рофла хотел указать, что получил этот товар бесплатно, но не стал.
За 249 мешочков гусиного пуха мы получаем примерно три часа увлекающего своей глубиной геймплея, с теоретическим реплеем на разные руты (их тут пять основных, плюс, есть мнение, что имеются ещё и косметические), однако на практике, надо понимать, никто эти самые реплеи устраивать, конечно же, не будет.
Кстати в титрах указано, что музыку сюда писали некие Door Studios, однако музыкальное сопровождение настолько отвратительно, что я предпочёл всю игру слушать треки качественного саунда на репите.
Но если серьёзно. На каком-то аниме-форуме увидел комментарий, что все диалоги в игре - эдакий флафф с няшными томбойками. Это не так. Все диалоги в игре - это бесовский кринж, льющийся на пользователя потоком из мема про "how hard I can pee". Особенно доставляет мамка героя. [spoiler] Кста лучшей шуткой на тему этой игры был вопрос, [i] "а можно ли трахнуть мать" [/i] [/spoiler]
Сюжет здесь так же увлекателен и оригинален, как и в других произведениях на эту тематику: томо-тян, боевая девчонка и прочие пятьдесят японских комиксов на тему [i] пацанки подруги детства которую герой не воспринимает как женщину а ей очень хочется стать женщиной в его глазах поэтому она творит импульсивную иррациональную дичь без которой автор манги никак не смог бы двигать сюжет вооооот [/i]
Всё очень смято, форсированно, невнятно.
Казалось бы, когда надо поскорей - авторы пихуют ненужной драмы, а когда наоборот, надо бы пооттягивать [spoiler] (про оттягивание вского разного, кста, отдельный момент ниже) [/spoiler] - авторы летят стремглав при этом знатно погадив на любые связи людей, живущих реальной жизнью, сюжетную целостность, да и логику, как таковую.
Да и понимание томбойки здесь, в целом, уныло-консервативное. Опять же, в духе вышеописанной классики. Вплоть до внешнего образа и постоянного насилия над мгг.
Неожиданные повороты, выборы (которые тут даются настолько часто, насколько меняется форма лица Крис на артах - раз шесть-восемь за игру) - тоже восхищают. К слову, лучшее, что есть в игре в плане развития персонажей, так это [spoiler] ставшая, в ня-концовке, полицеским, томбойка Крис. [/spoiler] С последнего, кста, народ тоже знатно рофлил.
Кста был момент, когда я разочаровался от отсутствия подробного описания поноса у гг, благо авторы вполне быстро ретировались шутками "про пописать" в следующей сцене.
Визуальная составляющая тут тоже никакая. Динамика сменяемости артов вполне типичная для визуальной новеллы, хотя момент с игрой в баскет меня реально впечатлил. Вышеописанные деформации головы также не сильно то и напрягают, по сути, ведь есть вещи и похуже - нюдесы. На вполне типичное несоблюдение пропорций и всё такое можно, в целом, забить, так как наяривать, или же, кхм... [b] [i] оттягивать [/i] [/b] на это всё равно не приходится. Путь к ним настолько тяжек и уныл, что имхо легче получить расписку "прошёл Афган", чем докорпеть до фапабельных моментов (хотя, если рассматривать общий таймлайн, то первый 18+ рисунок встречает нас в первой четверти игры, но проблема то не в этом...). Но, справедливости ради, финал ня-концовки не так плох, как мог бы быть.
Из плюсов же... Ну есть момент няшности со сном в одной кроватке :3 ^_^ )))"*_-~

В принципе, скажем просто что я вообще считаю, что для покупки визуальной новеллы, в целом - нужно быть либо клоуном, либо [strike] очень умным человеком [/strike] очень умным человеком. Однако эту новеллу итак никто не купит - благо народу о ней просто неизвестно. Ну а если кто-то и решится - то не стоит. Во всех отношениях.

Best $10 I've spent in a while. It was delightful, sweet, cute, romantic, and just overall a fun and cozy pass through. I got the 'good' ending and I adore the romance so much I have exactly zero intention or desire to experience anything else other than the happily ever after I got. Somehow they are able to wrap up about 2 dozen of the best and most adorable cliches into a fun 2.5-3 hour little novel, which of course you could see as cheesy but I personally find myself a little giddy at how cute it all was.

Excelente historia, en mi opinión personal me gustó mucho el guión y su toque cómico y los personajes principales fueron muy interesantes con sus personalidades no cliché como suele verse. Lo único malo a destacar y ya depende del gusto de cada uno es que no es de mi agrado el [spoiler] NTR [/spoiler].
This visual novel definitely deserves more recognition. When I first saw TNLT on the steam store, it hadn't even been released yet (and money was a bit tight tbh) luckily for me, a friend of mine let me play in his account, and even now that I've bought it for my own, three years later, I still played it every now and then.
It's a beautiful story, the narrative is enjoyable and notoriously immersive, as well as carefully thought and written. The art style is quite different from the traditional visual novels, but it doesn't look out of place, it's actually a nice twist in comparsion to generic novels, along with thegeneral development of the story, of course. Even though it's a short run (the longest route can be fully read, without speeding, in about 4 hours), it's delightful to play.
Only downside is, I haven't really had the guts to hurt chris in order to get the alternate endings, so... I can't really say much about those. But overall, this is a great novel.

It's good, the music is great, the plot is straight forward, but well written, the art is good. I can't not recommend this one.

The music is disproportionately good, to the point i want the soundtrack. The composer never got the memo, that he was suppose to make music for a point and click game. The soundtrack was on point.
Edit: forgot to mention, it took about four hours, start to finish, just one ending.

I just finished all the achievements in this game and let me tell you I normally don't play VNs but my close friend got it for me so I figured I'd give it a go. I really ended up enjoying this story way more than I thought I would.

I was recommened this by somebody in a Discord server I'm in and a big shoutout to him for that. It's not terribly long. I got to 100% in my total play time. That being said, it's an excellent story of trust and friendship. Nothing really felt forced to me from the "bad" ends to the lewd scenes. Everything just kinda....flowed. Every different ending made sense given your choices seeing where the other choices could diverge into different ends. After a trying week, I needed something this pure.
Big props to the writers and artists. This wasn't done in an art style I tend to go after, but everything worked together to make a well done scene. The character designs are top notch. I enjoyed the music too. A couple times I forgot it was coming from the game itself it was just so seamless and what I normally listen too anyway. 10/10 definitely recommend for some healing if you need it, heaven's know I did.
I loved the writing in this game. It was a good game and your choices feel like they matter. I went through this game maybe 6-7 times trying to unlock the full gallery and achievments and I felt very completed once they were done. I say this is a great and simple story that is always replayable.

The game has a male MC and two girls you are able to interact with. There're just five endings, the story is rather short. So, considering all that I thought two love options is totally fine, not all games/stories should be long, with lots of routes. But that's where I felt the biggest disappointment, I still am a bit grumpy about that. There's seriously only one love choice. The title of the game is a huge spoiler who it is. I guess I also could be called a tomboy. I thought Chris is gonna be quite familiar and alluring for me personally but alas. Teasing, friendly blackmailing and bullying is not the ideal image of friendship, in my opinion.

By the way, the store page warns the game “contains nudity and depictions of sexual acts”, I would also add bullying. Those scenes at school were rather cruel and could be triggering for some players. The plot turned out to be not that simple, nothing groundbreaking but still slightly surprising and gripping for such a short romantic story. The real nature of the chars seemed mysterious and intriguing, enough to make me play till I learned the whole truth. I love such stories, they may be not my cup of tea, I thought to write a negative review first but then suddenly I was so deep into all that, appreciating things I never actually liked. There's nothing new and enchanting in indulging myself in my favorite types of games/chars... Prove me I am still flexible xD The best experience for me.
There's a free adult patch. That was slightly annoying as well. First it took me some time to figure out how to install it. Some instructions could be nice. Then it felt like all sex scenes were created for men's amusement. I believed despite having male mc all kind of players could enjoy the story as his best friend was a real tomboy with a strong personality, that kind of character I often wish a protagonist in otome games would be. But at the end she stereotypically turns out insecure inside. And that one their sex scene revealing only her naked body and, you know, invisible MC's organ. Does he become invisible aroused?

I know it's impossible to create a story satisfying everyone's tastes but that's the main reason why I love visual novels so much. I can choose how my character acts, I always insert myself, no matter the gender. Some love/friendship options may be absolutely not to my liking but I get it how people are versatile and having at least one route fitting to my preferences is usually enough. I don't think I am too persnickety. But I am seriously annoyed by the lack of choice. That's how this game felt, unfortunately. I mean, choices did matter, influenced the plot but it looks like there's only one specific way to obtain real happiness for mc.
But despite all my whining the story really is quite interesting and I found playing the game relaxing. The plot managed to make me excited and emotional enough to enjoy the playthrough. I'd actually choose a neutral review if I could but I still incline more to positive impression. I'd recommend to try this game on sale.

Tomboys need love too is a Visual Novel with R18 Content in which you have one primary Girl which is also pretty nice and if you go for her Route it is also good overall, but there is also a super annoying dumb ♥♥♥♥♥ and since the Main Character is kinda a spineless shy little Boy this results in a few moments that mad me pretty mad. I really would have loved to punch that dumb ♥♥♥♥♥.
Overall, the Art and everything is pretty good, but since one playthrough is roughly 2 hours for one Ending and there is really only one Ending that is worth it, it gets kinda hard to recommend. Still if you have the money and dont care that you only get around 2 hours worth of content then I would say it is pretty decent. However if you want to play all the Endings and dont like to get cuc_ked then just dont bother with this game ^^.

Zetsubou这个制作组也大致可以算是一个比较有经验的视觉小说制作组了，凭借着第一部登录Steam的作品《Sickness》而大获好评，只不过在题材和内容显得比较阴暗和病态，还包含了一种人性的扭曲，不知道是不是这个原因，虽然组名叫“绝望”但是自此之后的作品虽然题材各有千秋，但大抵上都是恋爱喜剧，如战国古风恋爱的《WANDER NO MORE》、机娘赛博朋克的《HUMANITY MUST PERISH》、魔法校园喜剧的《SABLE'S GRIMOIRE》和晚间八点黄金档的《My Heart Grows Fonder》，包括本作也是青春校园恋爱的题材。
说点杂谈内容，我第一眼看到Tomboys的时候把它误以为是Tomb系列的词了，因为Tomboys这个词也确实不太常见或者也可能是我最近有点沉迷Tomb Raider系列，我一想Tomb这不对啊，配上图片的婚纱这岂不是要搞冥婚，心想着这次题材这么劲爆？结果发现只是我自相情愿单方面误会。
Tomboys一般指的喜欢混在男孩子堆里玩的女孩子或者外观和性格上比较偏向男孩子的女孩子，也就是通俗意义上的假小子、野丫头。其实从词性上还算是比较好理解，在国外的俚语代称中Tom一般也就指的是公猫，关于这个可以精确追溯到1760年，有位无名作家出版了一本叫做《猫的生活与冒险》（The Life and Adventures of a cat），其中把ram cat（公猫）称呼为Tom the Cat，随着本书逐渐出名，Tom也逐渐成为公猫的代指，并且这个用法延续至今已经超过两百年了。

本作既然是一款以青春校园恋爱为题材的视觉小说，那就必然脱离不了青梅竹马大战天降金发的套路剧情，同时你甚至可以从本作的名字中看出制作组在剧情上还是比较支持青梅竹马的，就连标题都帮剧透了。
本作整制作中规中矩。剧情体内容不多大致在2个小时以内，不过在选项上比较多，但是除了几个关键选项外几乎不太影响剧情发展，玩家大可不必担心不同的选项触发不同的剧情，只要你按照正常选项进行一般来说正常第一个触发的结局是选择了青梅竹马Chris，如果需要细分的话结局大致有5个结局，分别是选择了Chris、和Chris只是朋友、和Chris诞生纯洁的友谊、和Sophie成为炮友、三者成为朋友这几个结局，这么看虽然本作是校园恋爱题材的修罗场，但是却没有“XX小三，XX碧池。”或者“你们都是我的翅膀。”等奇妙展开，并且制作组对青梅竹马Chris线还是倾注了比较多的私心的。
游戏虽然自带了你们需要的免费DLC，但实际在画风上非常偏向欧美的粗线条，风格比较粗犷，同时在思想上也体现了一些欧美体系的想法，和我们亚洲普通的思考回路不同，存在部分地方让我Get不到点上，有些选项和内容可能让人觉得有点莫名其妙，比如Chris第一次暗示男主的时候表示“你在我身上有发现什么能够吸引你的魅力吗？”选项里竟然有“你的平胸”；Chris第二次暗示男主的时候表示“我的身体已经和小时候不一样了。”两个选项竟然是“让我康康！”和“我知道”，结果不管选哪个都还是看了。经历过之后我确实是觉得有点茫然，确实在思想上比较开放，没有我想象中的含蓄。
最后在人设方面，基本上算是比较丰富，但是剧情比较套路和单薄，Chris算是一个比较标准的青梅竹马展开，因为父母外出工作寄住在男主家，从小一起长大日久生情，而Sophie虽然是个大众女神，但实际暗地中风评不加[spoiler]（后期发现还有点绿茶婊）[/spoiler]，但实际上人生过的也算是比较惨，因此我对于在结局上的选择比较偏向与三者成为朋友的剧情[spoiler]（也勉强算是个变相的都是翅膀的后宫结局了）[/spoiler]，虽然有点对不起Chris，但是至少救赎了Sophie的人生。

Visual novel that treads down a path we all know too well, I would not play this game for its setting.
I would play it because it has one trope and that is one of the childhood friend. Even saying that they temper this with realistic emotions and goals throughout the story. I enjoyed because the main character are likable and even some real life lessons can be take from this.
If one thing is apparent, is that in one of the games routes it teaches you that we all cry for help when we make life shattering mistakes, the question is can you move past it?
You have to "play" as guy so dull, stupid, hypocritical and disrespectful, that you get instantly to hate him. Your "decisions" are only about inconsequential things and far between. The real decisions are made for you. The story itself is unbelievable boring. I cant believe that this game got positive reviews.
Only played though the one ending so far. Nice coming of age kinda fantasy for a guy and a next door childhood friend. Nice to be able to choose straight forward replies, for a change, rather than misdirects that just lead to drama.
Chris is cute, and it was a nice ending.

Esta novela visual romántica tiene un muy buen trabajo en escenarios, la música esta muy bien, muy buen diseño de personajes están muy bien logrado y respetado en toda escena.
La trama aunque sencilla esta muy bien, así como el desarrollo y trasfondo dado a los tres personajes principales.
Leyendo con paciencia, entre las varias elecciones que el juego presenta, es una novela visual de aproximadamente 6-8 horas de duración, consiguiendo todos los logros.
Está en español.

Well, I was a tad reticent to purchase this game, buuuut I am a sucker for a bad romance, and always hopeful that I will be proven wrong. I will err on the side of caution and say that [b]Tomboys Need Love Too[/b] was fine. To be quite honest, it didn't read as the usual Japanese Visual Novel that I am used to, and definitely had more of a Western feel to it while still following the standard tropes and a modern Japanese setting is implied, but if you said it was set in Long Beach, California; I wouldn't have been surprised. With that being said, and hope springing eternal; by the numbers:
[b]Tomboys Need Love Too[/b] is basically a two girl routes, five ending visual novel (no spoiler there) with our protag-kun: [b]Kai[/b] dealing with the obvious-to-everyone-but-him affection of his overbearing childhood friend: [b]Chris[/b] while working out his own crush on the popular girl who everyone loves to hate: [b]Sophie[/b]. Kai may be clueless, but you can't really blame him when he keeps getting thrown curveballs out of left field which I normally don't mind, and sort of expect, but instead of the story feeling complex; it just began to feel a little preachy, and I didn't get very far into my first chosen route before I had the sinking suspicion that I was reading a story by a Western woman with a bit of an agenda, but i could be wrong. For all of that, the stories were good enough with the one caveat that they could have been much more. All of the routes to ending were rather short, and could have been fleshed out to make for an even more intriguing and thought provoking read.
The artwork was fine with nothing that really stood out although the Adult patch artwork in a couple of cases were a little "disconcerting" at the very least. Characters were believable as were the twists and turns alluded to above, but again it could have been much more. The soundtrack was also fine, and again nothing terribly ear catching, but they set the mood sufficiently without being over the top, but mostly forgettable. The interface was standard and intuitive enough. Dialogue and interaction was pretty good, and the situations were filled with a potential that I just didn't feel really followed through on what might have been. I think I have made my point that while I liked it; I wound up a little disappointed.
[b]Tomboys Need Love Too[/b] isn't a waste of time, but it does leave me a bit nonplussed, and wishing that a little more work had been put into fleshing out the characters, and situations. I would say that it is worth the time spent since it is short, and it brings up some situations that I haven't seen a lot of in the standard romance/dating visual novel. All in all I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 stars, and a good solid B for effort.
It's your last semester at high school. Would you choose "Scarlet Letter" or your lifelong tomboy friend? A story about love, friendship, rumors and betrayal.
Simple but effective story, predictable bad choices that are worth exploring especially if your only here for the +18 stuff.
Well written descriptions of what's happening, some choices which seem useless play a big part in the protagonists choices during important story moments.
if your not here for the more adult themes, prepare for heavily describe sequences of moments throughout the story.
recommended for its simplistic story but heavy character building and thought process.
Art is a huge plus, soundtrack is there but not that noticeable but does not affect the game whatsoever.

《假小子也需要爱情！（Tomboys Need Love Too!）》是一款美呆[spoiler]虽然我不知道发行商是哪国的，但是游戏立绘和CG的画风是很明显的欧美风，这画风能否接受见仁见智吧[/spoiler]视觉小说，讲的是一对青梅竹马开始觉醒了对异性的意识——起码商店页是这么写的。
但事实上，游戏里有两个女主：一个是看似商量，实际上却藏着秘密的美丽女神，另一个是住过来的假小子青梅竹马。你的选择也会决定不同的路线，当然，看这个标题，你就知道很钦定了。
但是我没打青梅竹马线[spoiler]但是我拒绝[/spoiler]，而是c了“女神”线。然后毫无疑问的明白了什么叫标题杀[spoiler]你要不然和女神成炮友然后被青梅竹马看见世界名画某种意义上的badend，要不然就帮她走出过去然后大家三人行做永远的朋友——没有恋爱感情的那种[/spoiler]，要让她得到救赎无论如何都得作为朋友平常待她。
游戏还是探讨了一些东西的[spoiler]虽然也不深[/spoiler]，没有配音，也莫得中文[spoiler]毕竟是小成本独立游戏[/spoiler]，自带免费的补丁DLC和音轨DLC，本体商店页好像看不到，要自己去商店或者DB查[spoiler]DLC喜+2[/spoiler]。
It was short and sweet. Story was very fulfilling. Easy 5/5 for me.
