Short Mystery game where you play as a maid, and uncover secrets within the hotel! The mechanics are interesting, you have to ACTUALLY clean, leave towels and make the beds, snoop in drawers, solve puzzles and so much more. The puzzles actually make you think a bit, and the storyline forces you to really think about the connections and how to solve them. There are a few slow portions of the story, and I found some sections to be a bit unclear, but overall, pretty solid game! I was done with my first play through in about 4 hours, but, I believe there are multiple different endings you can achieve, making it a bit more replayable.

Great game. Awesome 1950’s wintery Montreal vibes, I was so immersed in the environment. I love the idea of influencing the ending based on minute details of my actions rather than solely dialogue choices. Like whether you forget to put things back the way they were. It had me really thinking closely about what I was doing and what the consequences might be the entire time. I also love that even though you’re snooping around, there’s no stealth gameplay.

- Não há senso de urgência imposto pelo jogo, a personagem principal é uma camareira que bisbilhota as coisas e você começa a imaginar que alguém pode chegar a qualquer momento e que precisa de pressa, mas vc pode simplesmente explorar a área, deixar todas as portas abertas e ninguém aparece.
- A gameplay não desenvolve direito, as decisões de diálogo de mentira poderiam ser mais utilizadas, a interação com objetos (usar chaves, rosquear e desparafusar coisas) não são intuitivas e bugam facilmente.
- Os finais são apresentados de maneira decepcionante. São só umas artes estilizadas mostrando o destino de cada personagem, sem cutscenes.
- Muita leitura de documentos, na verdade o jogo se baseia nisso pra contar a história. Cansa facilmente.
- O jogo tenta forçar o romance demais, você precisa recusar opções de diálogo frequentemente e rejeitar os personagens, mesmo já tendo feito isso antes - inclusive, uma dessas opções é apresentada logo após a personagem principal descobrir um assassinato e contar para a outra, a qual tenta flertar (???)

Went in just knowing it was a good game.
Quite surprised how much I enjoyed it. Not my usual cup o tea.
Never bored, pace was nice. Characters were interesting, story was overall good. Controls were solid, visuals matched the world and story being told.
Only gripes; no FF or skip key for scenes if you want to try different scenarios, and in order to get the "good" ending it feels like you have to know the story already.
I'm looking forward to the next one.

This game is fantastically made! As a player, you're taught the different mechanics in a very safe way before you need to use them in less safe situations. The writing is amazing, Sophie as a character is well fleshed out and all her actions - that you take as the player - are fitting for her character and believable. The npcs are also well written and the things you learn about them through the environment gives you emotional attachments to them. Plotwise - SPOILERS AHEAD - I love it so much. Going from the intro, you're safe it's a tutorial baybee, to when you go into room 505 and OH ♥♥♥♥ you're being stalked?? You use your snooping skills and through that, and what you learn, you feel safer and safer. Personally, by the time I had gotten Anne and Marcella's letters I had forgotten the MURDER MYSTERY aspect of the game. So when I discovered Hector's dead body it was such a whiplash! That is such good writing! Part of why I bought the game was the murder mystery tag, but the writing lulled me into a sense of safety and made me forget that! I was also so into the little side stories with the hotel workers and how I could help the ones I liked and whatnot! 10/10 I do recommend!

I had assumed this dev team collapsed but it looks like they just put up a store m page last month for another game, this time on a cruise ship.

This is one of those games that introduces an idea about how mystery/detective games should work that you carry with you into every game afterwards. Here, you’re expected to clean up after yourself after you’re done snooping through everyone’s stuff. I’ve found myself closing drawers and doors and putting stuff back where I found it in games where that doesn’t matter (like double blind and seance of blake manor, both of which involve a lot of snooping in people’s rooms).

Doing that Shaq “oop” face when you get caught snooping or tampering with evidence never gets old.

I love it and I want more!

A bit late to the party, but i stumbled upon this game randomly and i don't regret it. The story is intimate and engaging as a result, with themes that are both well treated within the time period the game takes place in (the end of the 50's), and still very relevant today.
The gameplay can be a bit repetitive at times, with a lot (a bit too much?) of hand holding, but the point is clearly to tell a story, not to offer a AAA level of gameplay, and it works well enough.
Overall, that game was a nice surprise, and i recommend it if you want a cosy and cute-ish game to play with a hot cocoa on a cold night.
(also, the game might be on the short side but has some replay value, given the various endings possible)

+ Tonnes of hearing Sophie's thoughts and inspecting, reading and gathering clues. I love that s*** I could do that for days.
+ Sophie is cute
+ Doesn't outstay its welcome
+ Nice graphics and music
- Side characters a bit bland
- Why are the odds of every major character being gay but also my acolyte who confessed her feelings to me right after I said I saw a dead body and was in shock lol
- Ending was kind of.. I dunno, felt a bit railroaded to me like it didn't REALLY mean what I chose to leave behind and say and not say (like to protect the women who ran off together) made a difference.

I really enjoyed this game! I appreciated how much attention to detail went into the character stories, it made me feel more invested in the world and the impact of my choices. I finished the game in 7-8 hours.

I have a lot of fun with the "Hunt a Killer" tabletop mystery series, specifically Hard to Expert-levels. This Bed We Made offered a fun character-immersion version of mystery solving for me, with meaningful messaging in the story. If you are familiar with that tabletop series, I'd say the game probably lands at "Easy to Medium" difficulty-wise for a murder mystery, and I anticipated that going in. There are things you can miss, but because you are immersed as a character in the scene of the crime, the game does have a directed path to help you catch smaller details.

Without spoiling, I'd have liked it more if the tampering choices and ending outcomes had a little more variety and complexity, given the emphasis on choosing to throw things away or not.

I purchased the game while on Steam sale, and I do understand where others are coming from with feeling the price to hours of gameplay is a bit steep. However, if comparing to most tabletop murder mysteries, it is priced pretty consistent to what you'd expect. And that is without all the effort that goes into developing the game, voice acting, etc.

Overall, I was invested in the story and had a lot of fun. Would definitely recommend! :)

A short and very well made game. Here is why:

- The story is adequate for the despicted time period
- the characters are relatable and or likable
- Riddles are logical and with a bit of knowledge of how life - and crime novels- work, figuring out what you have to do is so organic that you just go with the flow
- Most Riddles can be approached from different angles most of the time. you can gather all hints or a just a fraction to solve something. All you need to do is to observe rather than just see, as good old Sherlock would have put it.
- i could solve a riddle by actually using my own cryptology knowledge as soon as i had enough pieces (which were about 50%)
- Romance is optional. So is if it is straight or queer should you chose this path. A nice change to the often mandatory romances in games we had in the last decade or so.
- Freedom of choice. you can choose sides. You can be neutral. You can choose justice. you just have to live with the consequences
- realistic endings. No sugar coating as far as i can tell. All you do or do not has consequences. for you, for others, one way or another.
- All this allows you to play in a way that reflects your own interests of the story and or that of the main character. No moral straightjacket, no agenda, other than your own conscience. all can, nothing has too. Something that is a very rare thing today.

I know others here have said that this game isn't worth the price point, but I disagree. The game is pretty linear and one run is completable in five-ish hours; however, that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. I enjoyed the mechanic of choosing an acolyte to help you out (Beth <333), as well as figuring out what evidence you should and shouldn't tamper with. The slow reveal of story beats and realizing that these suspects share more with you than what you may think is a delightful experience.

I'm happy to pay $25 to allow these devs to create more games.

Now, go forth. Clean, be gay, tamper with evidence.

You start off playing as a maid who is just a bit too curious and likes to snoop around the guests' rooms, but it quickly spirals into uncovering a much deeper mystery.

I was honestly really impressed with the complexity of the story and how everything unfolds as you keep poking around.

Je suis cependant un peu déçue de la fin qui arrive bien trop vite au bout de 4 heures.
L'enquête est express, les énigmes manquent de difficulté... Comme une impression d'avoir joué "[i]en surface[/i]". L'intrigue me semblait beaucoup plus intéressante au début, avec notre découverte dans la première chambre. Dommage que cela soit placé comme un simple indice.
[spoiler] L'histoire autour de la romance "interdite" pour l'époque entre les deux femmes était très intéressante à découvrir au fil des énigmes, mais je trouve qu'elle manque cruellement de profondeur. This is an okay game that had a ton of promise. It took me just under 4 hours to beat the game, and I guess I'm happy I got it on sale because $25 is waaaay too much for such a short game. I've played games on Big Fish that have lasted longer and only cost $7.

Anyway, the visuals are almost nostalgic, like the old Agatha Christie games, Unfortunately, that's where the fun ends. It's super predictable once you find the 1st lesbian romance book. Even the little coded notes are super easy to figure out. There's supposed to be more than one ending, but the problem is that the story and the puzzles never change, just the dialog and ending. So for me, there's no real replay value especially for just an eh game with puzzles that a 7th grader could solve.

Je n'attendais pas grand chose de ce jeu, mais, soyons clair, il est bon ! Suffisamment simple pour qu'on ne se noie pas dans une foule d'indices, mais pas trop non plus pour que la quête de vérité soit prenante.
Alors, oui, OK, les touches ne sont pas réassignables, mais pour ce genre de jeu, c'est sans importance. Pareil pour les graphismes.
Pour une fois la psychologie des protagonistes correspond à quelque chose et pas juste à un quota de clichés à respecter.
Bref, un jeu simple, élégant et touchant.

сразу хочу оговориться, что игра стилистикой напоминает сериал "сестра рэтчед", который и по атмосфере, по стилистике и цветокору мне показался весьма неплохим. касательно сюжетной линии, честно, хотелось бы больше и возможно даже за пределами отеля, но я понимаю, что реализация этого в маленькой инди компании равна не высокой цифре, поэтому игра стоящая хотя бы из-за атмосферы. конечно, хотелось бы, чтобы добавили русский язык официально потому, что перевод пришлось покупать.

а также хочется сказать, что французская озвучка в этой игре - это что-то. как же вкусно звучит в этом сеттинге. и отдельный респект хочу кинуть за некоторую кинематографичность, ролики в игре выглядят действительно хорошо!

It's a cute little investigative adventure story. It kept me engaged, but it's pretty short and a little too melodramatic for my taste, but it's well made. Might not be worth full price though, catch it on a sale.

Game is alright.. found it a lil boring ngl.. just your average detective game where you puzzle together and solve clues. The graphics are fine, character models are a lil stiff but it's a small indie company so it's to be expected. I just found the overall story to be kinda lackluster and also very short. I did enjoy the first hour or so walking around the hotel and checking every small detail, but near the end of the game I got bored doing the same puzzles and chores over and over, since it's all happening on just one floor of the hotel. So all said and done not a bad game but probably not something i'd revisit any time soon.

Great little mystery game that is absolutely filled with environmental story telling and branching dialogues/ending. Also, the voice-acting is stellar, in both languages.

Keep your eyes peeled or you're going to miss a lot of the details and interactions!

The game felt a bit short, especially considering the price. I had expected a longer experience and more cleaning (you know, for the therapeutic effect and because you’re playing as a “maid”), but the gameplay barely scratches the surface. I hardly got to tidy up at all, which was honestly a bit disappointing.

Это была первая детективная игра для меня в таком стиле. На вид она очень простенькая, но сама не заметила, как прониклась историей. Сначала было неловко шпионить и рыться в вещах гостей, но потом я увлеклась данным процессом и заметила, какие тёмные секретики хранят постояльцы отеля.
Пришлось в некоторых моментах реально запариться с головоломками, но, к счастью, всё быстро решилось. Они очень интуитивные и понятные, за что выражаю огромный респект разработчикам. А также хочу выделить любовные линии и сами взаимодействия с нашими помощниками: очень милые, не навязчивые и интересные.
В общем, побыла я не только горничной и шпионкой, но и своего рода частным детективом!
10/10, всем рекомендую потратить 3-4 часика на эту игру. Не пожалеете!

p.s.: люблю писать отзывы без спойлеров к сюжету, стараясь объяснять только общее впечатление. Надеюсь, в моём отзыве не получилась каша...

This Bed We Made is one of those games that immediately feels different. It doesn’t look like other games, it doesn’t sound like them either, it carries its own identity from the start.

There’s a clear creative vision behind it, and that matters. You can feel that this wasn’t made to copy trends or play it safe. It’s trying to do something new, something engaging, and that effort shows in every part of the experience.

It’s not perfect, and yeah, it could use some polish in places, but it still wins because of what it’s aiming for. There’s intention behind it, and that gives it weight.

It feels like a labor of someone who actually cares about making something unique instead of just repeating what already works.

Not flawless, but memorable, and absolutely worth supporting.

Had a hard time deciding if I would recommend or not.

Fun game, but definitely not what i was expecting.

Played the game fully in french-canadian and i LOVED IT. It's not often games allow you to do so. Loved the voices, loved the names, loved the references.

On the other hand, it's quite a linear story. SINGULAR. Not multiple cases to solve. One story. I was also sad to see that snooping aroung had much less impact than I was expecting.

As others have said, 5h playtime max. I have no intention of attempting 100% anytime soon. Maybe in a few years when I forget the plot.

Fun little game but PLEASE GET IT WHEN IT'S ON SALE. Not worth its full price, unfortunately.

A short game, completed in 4 hours for me, but has some replayability with different outcomes and choices. Quite a chill game, snoop and clean round hotel rooms, learn secrets about people you've never met and uncover an entire story through all these tidbits. Runs pretty smoothly, I had to turn down the resolution from max to stop cutscenes lagging but still ran very well. Overall, loved the story and the gameplay, will probably return to this game in the future to see how I would do things differently. I would recommend for a quick play, good story and relaxing gameplay.

Finished the game in less than one day, took about 7 hours total.
-Great story line
-Art inside the game and through the story was fantastic
-Characters had good story lines and backgrounds

I would 100% recommend the game even at full price made me want to reply it again and again just wish it was a little longer

This a very soft yes, most of the things are "just good enough to keep you play it"

Without spoiling anything, you either get the puzzles or you don't. If you don't figure out what to do in 10 seconds, might as well just watch a walkthrough, it will be some random item that gives you a clue with some mental gymnastics. Paired with this, you need multiple replays to see all endings as early decisions lock you out from some endings. But since you'd only care about them because of the story, once again, you'd rather just watch a walkthrough than actually play the game. The story itself is also kinda whack, it's the "lgbtq = good, men = bad" type of narrative, but good enough to keep you play.

Joguei This Bed We Made e fui pega totalmente de surpresa. Achei que ia ser só mais um jogo narrativo, mas a história me envolveu de um jeito que eu não esperava.
A gente joga como uma camareira de hotel, mas basicamente vira uma fofoqueira profissional investigando a vida dos hóspedes 😂. Mexer nas coisas, ler cartas escondidas, tentar entender os conflitos de cada quarto… tudo isso é muito mais interessante do que parece. Eu ficava pensando “será que eu devia estar vendo isso?” e ao mesmo tempo não conseguia parar.
O clima do jogo é muito bom. Tem aquela estética mais antiga que combina demais com o mistério, e a tensão vai crescendo de forma natural, sem precisar de susto barato. As escolhas também pesam, então dá aquela insegurança boa de decidir algo e depois ficar pensando se fez a coisa certa.
Não é um jogo pra quem quer ação o tempo todo. É mais sobre prestar atenção nos detalhes e se deixar levar pela história. Pra mim, foi uma experiência bem diferente e que valeu muito a pena.

Le côté LGBT est mis en valeur dans le bon sens du terme, ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas de nos jours.

It was a fun, short game with lots of replayability because there are several possible endings, depending on how you play the game. If you don't read up on the game play-throughs at first, you'll inevitably make a few poor choices that'll lead to a rough ending. With that in mind, I recommend that you create LOTS of save points throughout your play through so that you can go back and fix things without having to redo everything if you want to try for new endings.
With some mystery games, it can be very horror-centric, but this is not like that. It plays very much like a Sherlock Homes type of game instead, and has some wholesome moments (as well as not so wholesome moments) due to the way relationships play out.

This Bed We Made is both an organization and puzzle game. The variety keeps the game interactive and keeps you engaged throughout. As you clean and snoop, more and more things fall into place as you see all the pieces of each person's life. To get all the achievements, you do need to play through the game several times. Whilst achievement hunting and playing the game multiple times, it can get annoying that you can't skip all the dialogue. Overall, I enjoyed the hours I put into this game and I would definitely recommend playing it.

Well, I had my eye on this game for a bit, and I was very excited to play it.

The premise of it is absolutely great - to be a maid while snooping around and playing detective is fun, but..

- The movements of the characters are a bit 'wonky' with the turnings. (But this is the least of my issues with it, you can get used to it)

- One huge disappointment in the game mechanics of finding clues and puzzles are way too easy and underwhelming.
In a way that it's perfectly laid out in front of you, so it kind of takes away the detective role of yours, which I thought would be the whole point of the game to have..
- The other big disappointment of mine was the fact that it was announced as a game where all your decisions influence the character's fates whatsoever, yet I meddled with a lot of guests items for fun - trashing important stuff to see what happens - and there were no consequences apart from a randomly found letter from management in the breakroom that we as the player may or may not read cause It wasn't even prompted by gameplay, and at the end the manager even offered me the employee of the month reward lol
- The main story and side stories feels very vague as well, and not a very immersive or exciting experience

To me it felt like a walk-around and do a few tasks game, while sometimes I had to watch a cut-scene.
And I'm pretty disappointed overall because the premise was so good and exciting that the execution feels quite underwhelming..

While the mystery and puzzles are nothing that would perplex you or blow your mind, there are solid performances in the voice acting. The animations are serviceable and delivers the characters well. There are some technical issues you can expect when loading saves such as objects disappearing and becoming uninteractable.

I find it amusing that there is no real inspection into who actually did the murdering, and you actually have to come into your own conclusion based on your own personal prejudices, which I suppose is the point. The police in this game obviously have their own prejudices, and so do you, and basically the game lets you choose who gets convicted of murder. It's worth noting however while all three parties have their own motive, only one of them have a motive more "lethal" than the other.

The worst thing about this game is its animation, and its honestly the only hurdle to really being able to enjoy this game. The animation is lightly hamstrung by virtue of trying to look in sync with the games decently realistic aesthetic. Nothing the team can't improve on for their next game though.

The writing in this game is fantastic and so well realized. It is rare in games to have a narrative that actually plays with your assumptions and has your understanding of a situation naturally evolve as more information is learned about it, and the fact the game is able to play with this purely in the past tense is a master class of narrative design. Your very understanding of what choices you ought to make are directly influenced by what information you gain as you progress through the story, its beautiful. The game is also wonderfully acted, and nothing is held back either by performance or writing. One of the few games where I made sure to read through every bit of writing available. I know others mention that it is difficult to want to go back but I find myself itching a little to see what other outcomes are available for the player.

Overall a wonderful first showing for an indie studio, I'm very excited for what they put out next!
