Very late to the party with this one. Installed it to my SSD a super long time ago and just never got around to giving it a chance.

Boy, have I been missing out. Granted, at the time of this review I've only put close to 6 hours into the game, but you know a game is good when you can play it for a short period of time and immediately fall in love with the systems and mechanics. This game, from what I've experienced so far, has a pretty much perfect marriage between simplicity and depth. The way you can customize builds to your preferences is kind of insane. The variety here between gear and skill designing is a theory crafters wet dream. The combat is engaging. The art direction is nostalgic, and the humorous story is actually really good.

What initially looks like a game for a younger audience is quickly revealed to be an engaging and complex ARPG that holds up with the best in the genre. I'm extremely excited to dive in deeper. There are systems I haven't even unlocked yet and I already feel like my Mage character is MY Mage character. I'll definitely be playing this game exclusively until Diablo 4's Warlock expansion releases. And when I inevitably get bored with D4 (like I always do) I will be returning to this game. I'm excited to see what the end game is like. There is a lot more I need to experience before I can give a full opinion on Slormancer. But, first impressions are very high. If you're a fan of games like Grim Dawn, Diablo, Titan Quest, POE, Last Epoch, then you definitely need to add this one to the library.

Brain off, numbers go up. Delightful little AARPG to play while listening to podcasts.
I love the art and the animations are hella cute.

Wish the sprites changed with the armor you equipped, but that's a nitpick. Lovely little find, really having fun with it.

Yeah, I would recommend this but...I have no idea who created difficulty level for this game; in general I consider this to be an easy and relaxing game, I literally died 2-3 times for whole game (playing huntress and knight in turns and usually they kill everything in a sec) BUT final boss really pissed me. It is totally different from anything else in this game , it is difficult and I tried like 60 times and still did not pass, what the f is going on.

2Dハクスラとしてはよくできてる。それだけにやるほどに微妙なところが際立ってしまう惜しい作品。

評価を下げてるのがエンドゲーム（と呼んでいいと思う）で、数パターンのダンジョンをひたすら周回する上に、本来なら実績にしておくべき内容がノルマになってるのでかなり作業感がある。もう少し工夫がほしかった。

それとアイテム、素材、経験値のドロップ率が渋い。もっとサクサク・ザクザク進めたい人には合わないだろう。

こうした仕様をプレイ時間の引き伸ばしと感じる方もいるようだ。

値段分は十分に楽しめたけど、この辺の基本システムにテコ入れが入ることはあまりなさそうなので、気になる人はセールで買うのが無難かなぁ。

So, I first purchase The Slormancer way back in January 2022. I played for about 12 hours back then and, for a reason I can't recall, I stopped.

Fast forward to now: a few weeks ago I decided I needed a new ARPG to sink some time into and The Slormancer came back on my radar. Almost 100 playtime hours later - what an absolutely incredible game. I'm so glad I revisited it. I especially love the ability to swap any skills or abilities whenever I want (even mid-game) with no penalty, and the crafting system is, without a doubt, the best I have ever used in any game.

This is how this kind of game should be done!

Very good action RPG. Expect crazy combos, very good depth, a lot of crafting and theorycrafting and very satisfying hack n slash action. The writing is witty and funny, updates still rolling. Of course there is item and level grinding involved but its thoroughly enjoyable if you even slightly think about what you are doing. I got 200 hours out of this title and every major update ill hit it again. 10/10 worth it.

[b]Gameplay:[/b] Decent for a typical ARPG. The game includes many QoL features that make it convenient to play. Bosses are also typical for the genre. They either kill you through visual clutter or force you to change your build for the fight. Over time your skills start covering a large part of the screen, which only adds to the chaos and reduces clarity. 5/10
[b]Audio:[/b] Decent sound effects and very good music, but it becomes repetitive in a bad way. It’s not the kind of ambience you can listen to for many hours. 6/10
[b]PC Requirements:[/b] A potato PC is enough for regular gameplay, but when the screen fills with effects you may need a monster PC. 8/10

genuinely unplayable on steam deck due to tiny font size, which is a shame because it looks like it'd be a perfect steam deck game. It's also a shame that the font size problem has been a known issue for over ~5 years now, if you check the steam discussions, so it's unlikely that it will ever get fixed.

Alright game, not bad, not good. Fun at the start but then the game gets super repetitive really quickly once you get the hang of things. There's also not much skill expression in end game content. At some point you just blow everything up from off screen. There's also not much of a purpose to keep playing (like pinnacle content) in endgame besides pushing for giga big numbers or being a completionist. Swapping builds and weapon don't change much, you just grind through the whole same game loop over and over again. Loots are not that exciting either.

It's a lot of fun. Short levels that let you jump in and out and several endless level options that let you just keep going. The item progression has multiple tiers that you don't even realize they are there until you. Tons of customization, and yet the game is simple enough that you can play hundreds of hours before even getting to the point of needing to fine tune your character build. It's equally fun when I'm just looking for a low-brain power distraction as when I'm looking for something engaging where I need to make some plans and figure out a strategy.

IF you enjoy, even remotely, games like Path or Exile, Last Epoch, Diablo, Titan Quest and similar, give this game a try. It's fun and engaging, easy to break without guides, with tons of mechanics to experiment with.
Don't be fooled though, it's cute but it's grindy as the next ARPG out there.

Surprisingly good. The game keeps getting hours from me due to being offline, running well on my work laptop, and deterministic crafting. Would love to see steam deck verified, more build changing legendary affixes, and using pure slorm to upgrade pickup range. There also seems to be UI issues if you tab out. Overall very fun game, definitely got my money's worth and more.

It's you typical ARPG. Go through maps and kill enemies with different characters, get loot, level up, upgrade gear. Leveling becomes a crawl after 50. Gameplay is a bit slow in the beginning and there is too much confusing terminologies that you'll have to dig inside the stats menu to understand. A thing that really annoyed me is that "Attack Speed" means something else then every other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game in the genre.

Crafting system is the best of any ARPG I played, You can modify and aspect of an item you want, but the tradeoff is that the materials will be a long grind.

I've quit the game after killing the boss in the place where you get "pure slorm" at stage 50. I got really disapointed that there was no new thing to do or place to explore.

游戏画风是比较讨喜的像素风格，画面和特效较为精致，画面这一块没有什么可以喷的。
但是我一一个萌新从练第一个新号的角度出发，说一下目前版本存在的几个非常严重的问题：
①极度缺乏游戏指引：终局任务就给你三块板，具体怎么打以及相应进度的强度明显设计不合理，铁炉堡100波（基本上65级正常配装就能过）和过了卡拉赞才能打卡拉赞的诺拉图斯挑战（100级愤怒8）是一个级别的挑战吗？
②及其离谱的肝度：技能经验需要练，武器经验也需要练，想实验新BD又得重头开始练，金币获取和魂石获取后期极度匮乏，仿佛和某些数值崩坏的手游一般。
③从主线通关到诺拉图斯挑战这段时间可以说是最枯燥的阶段了，相信有很多人是这个阶段弃坑的，橙装爆率低，词缀用不上，缺乏技能联动，纯靠数值堆积的乏味感可以劝退大部分人。
④地图和怪物设计缺乏创意：战场地图纯纯一个模板换的五张皮，全部模式的怪物一共也就那么30/50种，刷了一会极度容易审美疲劳。

So...I don't usually put down games that I like before finishing them, but this is a rare exception.

The start and middle of this game were fantastic. Really enjoyed it. But when you get into the real late-game (the nether area) the amount of grind just killed the enjoyment for me.

Personally, I would have loved a more 'story' or 'easy' mode, that removed a significant part of the grind.

Can't say anything bad about the game really, just ended up being not for me, which is a really odd thing to have to say about a game I've sunk almost 100 hours into.

The Slormancer, c’est un ARPG 2D pixel art, axé “loot + builds + progression”, avec un ton qui assume l’humour et le côté absurde.
Tu choisis une des 3 classes (Knight / Huntress / Mage) et tu pars EXPLOSER des milliards de mobs.
Optimisation, builds, synergies… bref : le jeu est dense. Tu peux y passer des dizaines d’heures juste à tester des trucs. Et c’est son gros délire.

Tu farm des zones, tu défonces des packs, tu ramasses du loot, tu ajustes ton build, tu recommences… et tu te surprends à dire “ok juste une run de plus” pendant 3h.
Le vrai plaisir, c’est pas “finir l’histoire” : c’est fabriquer un build qui roule, puis le pousser plus loin.

The Slormancer nos presenta una propuesta de jugabilidad que es dulce, suave, a la par que melosa y crujiente.

Básicamente es un hack-n-slash pixel art, muy reminiscente de la época renacentista de Góngora. Aquel Góngora que corría tras las faldas de las chavalas.

Con sus árboles de habilidades extensos y frondosos, The Slormancer nos ofrece plenitud de horas de pim pam pim pam pim pam, grindeo a saco para quedarte embelesado durante horas, procesando las emociones que sean que tengas atascadas en lo más profundo de tu tráquea.

Yo lo veo como un MMORPG singleplayer y offline. Es puro grindeo una y otra vez, machacando enemigos una y otra vez. Subiendo tu nivel, el de tus armas, el de tus hechizos, etc etc.

Ojo que con The Slormancer y la manera que tiene de jugarlo haciendo click muchas veces con el ratón, me acabó doliendo la base del pulgar en la mano con la que uso el ratón. Y tras pensarlo un poco decidí comprarme un cacharro para ejercitar el agarre de la mano. Y ojo que me ha ayudado.

Así que nota por si a alguien leyendo esto le ocurre lo mismo: calienta los músculos de la mano, ejercítala un poco. Cómprate un cacharro para ejercitarla, en inglés se llama "hand grip strengthener".

Très bon hack & slash. Le système de craft est très intéressant et compréhensible.
Niveau build c'est possible de casser le jeux avec toutes les compétences ce qui est positif pour un jeu solo !

非常无聊的一款游戏，跟喝白开水一样寡淡。没有爽点，没有爆点，我都不知道支撑玩家玩下去的动力在哪。普通的剧情，游戏关卡一成不变，塞怪堆怪，走到地图终点，看十秒钟剧情，然后下一幕。战斗非常没有深度，搞的那堆子职业和技能组救不了玩起来素然无味的本质。这样无聊糟糕的游戏内容外有一堆局外成长，你说说看你自己刷得下去吗

BD体验都还好就是这个先祖天赋我实在没看懂作者怎么想的为什么强制绑定在元素伤害上里面的大点几乎80%都是给元素伤害增伤而且最后一排对应元素的终极天赋需要全部的石头才能路过点过去,,,, 几乎没有没有策略性可言感觉就是个没想好要做这个系统硬加上去的我不懂在了解原始伤害武器伤害和元素伤害的区别正式上手后看到这个系统完全尬住的感觉,,, 总而言之是一个很奇怪不是起到天赋树的天赋树系统? 这我确实长见识了.... 而且那些大点的天赋实在一言难尽可能我没刷到大后期完全了解这个游戏的传奇特效但是就目前来说砍掉这个先祖系统归并到武器中把这些点拆分出来放到武器组合上会好很多我不理解一个做刷子游戏的会有这种设计但这个游戏的武器库和技能本身有点意思如果不较真还是可以的但绝对算不上一个好的作品...

Bir arpgye göre build çeşitliliği çok geniş ve karmaşık değil, oyunun diyaloglarındaki mizah yönü komik ve eğlenceli tek eksiği content. Tabiki arpg ler kendini tekrar eder ama slormancerda bu olay olması gerekenden biraz daha fazla bi süre sonra sizi sıkabiliyor yinede belli bi kısma kadar çok keyifli bi oyun.

The gameplay is ok, it's a hack and slash so you have loot, ways to customize your stuff and a bunch of abilities and options to help your build your characters. You start by playing small corridor maps for the story and then the game unlocks a temple, expeditions , an arena , all these are more corridor areas. Then to follow the story you have to complete objectives and so the game forces you to grind and at this stade you saw all that the game had to offer so it's repetitive grind to unlock more grind?

I think this game has fun humor and interesting character creation, optimization, and itemization... however so much effort is spent on the Path of Exile-esque character stats and itemization, but not much spent on creating fun runs.

Every "run" in the game is essentially the same. The runs have no real quest, no interactables, nothing going on for them. You are just running, fighting, running, fighting, and then leaving via a portal. Then, you upgrade your characters and items and go back in again. There is no variance. I'm 7 hours in and it feels the same as it did 1 hour in.

A lot more time needs to be put into this game to make the randomization and excitement of a run more prevalent. A bunch of hallways and rooms with enemies in them and nothing else going on gets boring fast.
