Also rooting for you guys to resurrect Castlevania! That will definitely be a day one purchase for me. The trailer was insane. I watched it like ten times already. Go Evil Empire!

Gameplay:
Il gameplay è davvero ottimo e molto fluido. Risulta parecchio frenetico e si adatta perfettamente sia allo stile di Prince of Persia sia alla struttura roguelike. Tutte le armi sono ben bilanciate e permettono di creare strategie diverse, aumentando la varietà e la dinamicità delle partite.
Un elemento che lo distingue dai classici roguelike 2D è la verticalità: la possibilità di correre sui muri, sia in orizzontale che in verticale, aggiunge profondità al gameplay e permette di affrontare le mappe in modo creativo e originale.

Trama / Ambientazione:
La trama è breve ma ben strutturata e riesce a integrarsi perfettamente con il genere roguelike, dando una spiegazione narrativa al fatto di ricominciare dopo ogni morte. Questa scelta è particolarmente azzeccata per un titolo di Prince of Persia, richiamando elementi iconici come le dinamiche legate al tempo.
L’ambientazione è molto gradevole e varia: le diverse mappe risultano ben differenziate tra loro e coerenti con l’atmosfera generale del gioco.

Grafica:
La grafica è di ottimo livello. Gli ambienti sono curati, con sfondi dinamici e uno stile artistico molto ben realizzato. Il protagonista e i personaggi secondari sono disegnati con grande attenzione, e il gioco riesce ad adattare il proprio stile visivo alle diverse ambientazioni in modo efficace.

Audio:
L’audio è molto coinvolgente. Le musiche si adattano perfettamente sia all’esplorazione che ai combattimenti, aumentando di intensità durante le fasi più frenetiche. Nelle boss fight contribuisce in modo significativo a rendere l’esperienza ancora più immersiva.

Longevità:
La longevità è molto alta, soprattutto per chi apprezza il genere roguelike. Ogni morte permette di migliorare e potenziarsi, rendendo ogni run diversa dalla precedente. Anche completando il gioco al 100% degli achievement, l’esperienza rimane coinvolgente e mai noiosa, grazie alla varietà e alla struttura ben costruita.

Ottimizzazione tecnica:
L’ottimizzazione è molto buona. Il gioco gira bene sia su hardware di fascia alta sia su Steam Deck, risultando leggero e fluido. Su macchine più potenti beneficia di fps più elevati, che migliorano ulteriormente la sensazione di frenesia, ma resta perfettamente godibile anche in portatile.

Conclusione:
The Rogue Prince of Persia è un titolo estremamente riuscito. Riesce a dare nuova vita al brand mantenendo elementi classici della serie e adattandoli a una struttura roguelike moderna. È divertente, dinamico e rigiocabile, con una buona integrazione narrativa.
Unica nota per i completisti: alcuni achievement risultano particolarmente difficili e possono diventare frustranti, soprattutto quelli che richiedono di non subire danni.
Nel complesso, un gioco molto valido e con ottime prospettive per il futuro.

The gameplay is really great and very fluid. It is quite hectic and adapts perfectly to both the style of Prince of Persia and the roguelike structure. All weapons are well balanced and allow you to create different strategies, increasing the variety and dynamism of the matches.
An element that distinguishes it from the classic 2D roguelike is the verticality: the possibility of running on the walls, both horizontally and vertically, adds depth to the gameplay and allows you to face the maps in a creative and original way.

Plot / Setting:
The plot is short but well structured and manages to integrate perfectly with the roguelike genre, giving a narrative explanation to the fact of starting over after every death. This choice is particularly apt for a Prince of Persia title, recalling iconic elements such as time-related dynamics.
The setting is very pleasant and varied: the different maps are well differentiated from each other and consistent with the general atmosphere of the game.

Graphics:
The graphics are of excellent level. The rooms are well-kept, with dynamic backgrounds and a very well realised artistic style. The protagonist and the secondary characters are drawn with great attention, and the game manages to adapt its visual style to the different settings effectively.

Audio:
The audio is very engaging. The music is perfectly adapted to both exploration and combat, increasing in intensity during the most hectic phases. In boss fights it contributes significantly to making the experience even more immersive.

The optimisation is very good. The game runs well both on high-end hardware and on Steam Deck, resulting in light and fluid. On more powerful machines it benefits from higher fps, which further improve the feeling of frenzy, but remains perfectly enjoyable even on laptop.

Conclusion:
The Rogue Prince of Persia is an extremely successful title. He manages to give new life to the brand by maintaining classic elements of the series and adapting them to a modern roguelike structure. It's fun, dynamic and playable, with good narrative integration.
The only note for the completists: some achievements are particularly difficult and can become frustrating, especially those that require not to be damaged.
Overall, a very good game with excellent prospects for the future.

Very good, movement feels satisfying, combat is fun and dynamic, lots of weapons for varied gameplay and potential for broken builds on lucky runs. I love the crit system that changes based on the weapon, similar to Rogue Legacy 2.

I love Rogue Legacy 2. I love Hades 1 & 2. I did not love Dead Cells. But I liked this enough to finish the story, not enough to 100% it though.

El roguelite más accesible de todos los que he jugado. En cada partida notas cómo avanzas y consigues cosas: armas, zonas nuevas, amuletos… Me ha gustado mucho lo bien hilada que está la historia y cómo el juego logra que el ciclo de repetición tenga variaciones para ir consiguiendo objetos para avanzar en la trama, por lo que cada partida te invita a ir por escenarios diferentes. El control es perfecto, aunque al principio hay que adaptarse a la mecánica de caminar por las paredes del fondo del escenario. En cuanto a la dificultad, si llevas al personaje medio bien construido, los jefes tienen unos patrones reconocibles y evitables y no son especialmente difíciles, lo cual es de agradecer pues no siempre quieres tener que reintentar cada pelea 50 veces hasta hacerla perfecta. Es, posiblemente, el mejor juego para iniciarse en los roguelite.

Esto en lo relativo a la historia, que he terminado en unas 14h. A partir de aquí, puedes repetirlo las veces que quieras incrementando la dificultad (y las recompensas) para desbloquear armas, herramientas... Y atuendos. Atuendos que no os esperáis y de los que alguno os va a sacar una sonrisa.

Not only the best Prince of Persia game by far, but one of the very best games I've ever played. Super smooth and intuitive controls, extremely satisfying combat, flawlessly fluid parcour movement, a distinct and very appealing artstyle and no doubt one of the very best soundtracks I've ever heard in any game.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is challenging and slightly confusing at first, but it's absolutely balanced and always fair. If you die, it's your fault and yours alone. Once you got the hang of it all, there is hours of fun, but zero frustration. The only two things i could slightly complain about are that there is no voice acting and the final boss is a total loser. I literally beat him on my very first try without even knowing what he'd do (and I've never played a Roguelike before, apart from a few runs in Serious Sam Tormental). So yeah, that was extremely satisfying, but also a bit of a letdown.

Once you start, you won't be able to put the controller down. The Rogue Prince of Persia is Crack Cocaine made into a Roguelike. You have been warned.

+ Extremely satisfying movement and combat, feels great to play.
+ Ascension system is more difficult than I expected, some fun wrinkles added.

+- Pretty easy all things considered, especially if you get some disgusting synergies.

- One of the glitchier games I've played, nothing game ruining but some soft locks, graphics issues, etc.
- Story is a bit lackluster.
- Combat can be a mess at higher ascensions where you can't really discern what's happening with all the effects and enemies on screen at once.

Overall recommend, probably at a discount. I'm hoping some of the upcoming updates will fix some of my issues! Really like these devs.

Excelente, tengo mis añitos y para mi siempre "prince of persia" fue aquel de los 90 en MS-DOS. Tenía menos de 8 años y lo jugaba en la oficina de mi viejo, recuerdo que era jugarlo una y otra vez hasta aprenderte todo y poder terminarlo, lo cual nunca pude hacer. Por otro lado tenía una mística muy particular. Después de ese salieron un montón de juegos y ninguno me logró atrapar tanto como aquel primero. Cuando salió el "lost crown" me ilusioné porque era 2D... pero a los pocos minutos de jugarlo no me había gustado... A esta altura ya daba todo por perdido, sin embargo vi esto en oferta y me la jugué... para mi sorpresa el juego es EXELENTE, la banda sonora es buenísima, la jugabilidad también, el estilo "roguelike" es lo mejor que le podía pasar. Es lo más similar que vi a aquel de los 90. Repetir una y otra vez, "get gud" hasta poder pasarlo. Después de bastantes horas recién logré llegar al segundo jefe, estoy más que satisfecho, recomiendo un montón.

[1일차]
죽음에서 회귀하는 페르시아의 왕자로 플레이합니다.
플레이 중에 사망하게 되면 오아시스로 돌아오게 되며 다시 처음부터 모험을 시작하게 되죠.

맵은 다양한 지형지물과 적, 가시, 톱니바퀴들도 구성되어 있습니다.
경사로를 따라 물이 흘러서 내려가는 구간도 존재하고 밧줄을 타고 오르내리거나 막대기를 겅중겅중 뛰어넘는 곳도 존재하죠.
이런 지형을 기본적인 이동과 점프, 대시 그리고 벽타기를 활용해서 이리저리 이동을 하고 함정 등을 안전하게 넘어갈 수 있습니다.
벽타기와 점프, 대시를 각각 활용해야해서 적응하기가 은근 햇갈리는 부분이 있긴하지만....
추가로, 완벽한 타이밍에 액션들을 수행하면 바유의 숨결 막대를 채워서 속도가 상승하는 바유의 숨결을 활성화할 수 있죠.

적들은 플레이어를 인식하면 자동으로 공격을 수행합니다.
뭔가를 던지거나 들고있는 무기를 휘두르거나 돌진해오거나 위로 창을 찌르거나 바닥에서 드릴을 소환하거나 화살을 쏘거나 등등.
또한, 적들 중 일부는 강력한 보호 오라를 두르고 등장합니다.
공격에 대한 내성과 발차기 면역을 보유하고 있기에 이를 제거하여야 전투의 번거로움을 줄일 수 있죠.
보호 오라는 그냥 일반 공격으로 제거할 수 있고 바위 등의 사물 또는 다른 적을 발차기로 날려서 한 번에 제거할 수 있습니다.

플레이어는 이런 다양한 적들에 맞서서 장착한 무기와 도구를 활용하죠.
고유한 전투 능력을 보유한 무기를 휘두르고, 공격키를 꾹 눌러서 특수 공격을 실행할 수 있습니다.
도구는 원거리에서 적을 공격하는 활이나 되돌아오는 차크람, 적의 뒤로 순간적으로 이동하는 특수검 등이 존재하죠.
여기에 발차기를 이용해서 상대를 밀쳐내어 공격 자세를 흐트러뜨릴 수 있고, 대시로 적의 범위에서 벗어나거나 공격을 흘려낼 수 있습니다.
참고로, 무기와 도구는 1개씩만 장착이 가능하며 모험 중에 다른 장비나 상급의 무기를 발견하면 교체를 할 수도 있죠.

무기와 도구 외에 메달리온을 획득하여 장착이 가능합니다.
기력이나 대미지 증가, 전투에서 특수 효과 활성화 등이 존재하며, 일부는 세트로 완성해서 효과를 강화시킬 수 있죠.
기본으로 최대 3개까지 장착이 가능하며, 포인트 분배나 임시 슬롯 확장 등을 통해서 최대 수를 증가시킬 수 있습니다.

적들을 처치하면서 맵의 끝에 도달하면 다음 지역으로 이동할 수 있습니다.
이동 후 오아시스를 발견하여 체력과 회복 물약을 보충할 수 있고, 영혼 제단으로 영혼불을 오아시스로 보낼 수 있죠.
영혼불은 적을 처치하거나 맵을 탐험하는 중에 수집할 수 있으며, 오아시스로 보내지 못한 영혼불은 사망 시 소멸해버립니다.
안전하게 오아시스로 보낸 영혼불은 복귀 후 새로운 무기나 도구, 메달리온 등의 제작에 활용할 수 있죠.

맵의 중간중간 배치된 꿈의 우물은 서로 연결되어 있어 이동이 가능합니다.
이를 통해서 사이드 루트로 이동해 숨겨진 보물이나 서브 퍼즐 방을 발견하여 보상을 획득한 뒤 메인 루트로 복귀할 수 있죠.

그렇게 모험을 이어가다가 어이없게 함정에 빠지거나 적이나 보스에게 죽으면 오아시스로 회귀하게 됩니다.
다시 페르시아를 구하기 위한 모험에 뛰어들거나 모험 중 구조한 NPC들과 대화를 나누고 그들의 도움을 받을 수 있죠.
앞서 언급한 영혼불로 새로운 무기나 도구, 메달리온을 활성화하거나 특정 목표를 완수하여 보상을 얻을 수 있습니다.

또한, 전투를 수행하면서 얻은 경험치로 레벨이 상승하고, 보상으로 얻은 스킬 포인트를 분배하는 것도 가능하죠.
스킬 포인트는 왕자의 능력을 강화하거나 새로운 능력을 활성화하는 방향으로 소모하게 됩니다.
체력이나 기력을 상승시킬 수 있고 부활 기회나 시작 자원 지급, 메달리온 슬롯 확장 등이 존재하죠.
왕자의 레벨에 따라서 이용할 수 있는 종류가 확장되기에 후반으로 갈수록 보다 다양한 성장이 가능해집니다.

[아쉬운 점]
-점프, 대시, 벽타기 키셋팅이 은근 애매 (점프와 벽타기 동일 키로 합의)
-게임 오버 후 뭔가 버벅임

Como fan de Prince of Persia y alguien que disfrutó mucho Dead Cell, el trabajo de Evil Empire me parece una maravilla. Tiene muchos guiños a los juegos anteriores y se le nota el cariño del estudio por la saga.

Excellent roguelike that's been getting free content updates.

+ Very fun to jump around
+ Short combat time per enemy
+ Fast paced
+ A lot of unlockables (weapons, medallions and outfits)
+ Decent metaprogression
+ Story progression has a bunch of objectives (not just get farther), so if you die you don't feel that bad

- Longer story (or new quests) would be awesome, thought maybe will be solved in future updates. In the end, doing runs to only unlock outfits/achievements could be boring for some people.

My favorite game form 2025! As a fan of the POP series since the original in 1989 (still a game I go back to often) I really really love this one. I get a lot of those Nostalgic Persian vibes while playing this game. The art is some of my favorite in recent memory, even better than Shinobi. The music is great and is one of my go-to soundtracks while I code. The movement is so well done and is a crucial part of the game. I am still figuring things out in the game and IU am 40 hours in.
I hope this game has a long life because I would love to see more than just a few more updates to this great game! Thank you Jordan Mechner (for the original), Evil Empire, and yes, even Ubisoft!

I am not a huge Prince of Persia fan, but this game has made me one. There are a few aspects that really draw you in. Music, art style, gameplay and medallion synergies. The music is flawless, seriously it's so catchy and invigorating. The art style is impeccable, it feels detailed with actually being super high res. The free running technique allows for mistakes to be made but you know you're the one who made it, it's a pretty darn forgiving system. And some of those synergies make for game breaking runs. I had a medal that increased offense with extra gold, and I got 27k gold. Lol. Loved it.

Как и в случае с The Lost Crown год назад, этот «Принц» — не менее потрясающая игра, которую я прошёл с огромным удовольствием. При том, что Rogue-like жанр мне совсем не близок в целом.

Тут классный нарратив, который для меня сработал больше, чем схожий по подходу в Hades, интересный и не надоедающий геймплей, отличный мувмент (даже бег по стенам не забыли!), достаточный челлендж. Но самое крутое и впечатляющее, что есть в Rogue Prince of Persia — это арт-дизайн и саундтрек. И то и другое — чудо как хороши.

Игру очень советую во всех случаях, только если у вас нет категорической неприязни к «рогаликам» или двухмерным платформерам в целом.

Rougelite carino, una run tira l'altra all'inizio ma poi diventa veramente troppo monotono. Nessun cambiamento di biomi tra le run, una volta che impari le strade non ti diverti più granché. Inoltre è veramente troppo facile dopo la prima metà del gioco, non si prova più un senso di sfida a meno che non si vogliano sbloccare tutti gli achievement, perché alcuni sono veramente tediosi. Nel complesso è un gioco carino che consiglio, ma ci sono rougulite molto migliori.

On top of that the upgrade progression is nicely balanced so by the time you've unlocked extra lives you're really not using them, and on top of that adding in difficulty modifiers that reward you for that exact effort.

I do hope though that in time they add in the ability to disable certain items from appearing, as the nature of the item pools disincentivizes unlocking everything in favor of keeping a tight deck.

This is my first ever roguelike. I’ve always wanted to try the genre, and since this is a game from my childhood, I decided to give it a shot. I absolutely loved it!

The gameplay is very dynamic, and the soundtrack is amazing, especially how the tempo reacts to your actions. The graphics are great, and the variety of weapons and medallions makes every run feel different. There are also plenty of cool locations and bosses.

On the downside, the story is a bit too simple and short, I wish it had more depth.

Overall, if you are a fan of Prince of Persia and roguelikes, I highly recommend it

Plain and simple - it's an amazing game.

Story is pretty simple, as it usually is with roguelikes and roguelites, but the execution and gameplay provide satisfaction from re-playing the loop. It might be simple, but it is beautiful and beautifully rendered. Controls are snappy and responsive, and the Vayu's Breath system helps with equally snappy and responsive vaulting around beautifully rendered maps.

Speaking of maps, they sometimes bear marks of being procedurally generated, like two save points next to each other on occasion, but that does not undermine the fun from running around them. It brought me so much joy to link attacks in combos, while vaulting above other enemies and kicking them from behind to prolong the Vayu's Breath. You gotta go fast!

There was one thing that was annoying but only at the very beginning. My muscle memory was yearning for double-jump! I'm glad that designers introduced a different mechanic in its place - way better, too - WALL RUN. When you think about it, it is The Prince of Persia game, right?! It's genius!

Overall, 9/10 game thanks to awesome gameplay, it's absolutely amazing game. Highly recommend!

В неозвученном 2D Принце куда больше обаяния, шарма и характера чем у Саргона. Музыка бомба! Лучше, наверное, только в Схватке с судьбой. Динамика боев и движений в этой части вообще лучшая в серии! И механика дня сурка от перемотки времени назад идеально ложится на жанр рогалика.
Кстати, этот Принц тоже не любит гранат, так что все по канонам первой трилогии. Даже Фара есть :D

Bought while it was on sale due to a dislike of Ubisoft. Evil Empire are great, Ubi are dreadful, pick this up on discount and if you haven’t already get Dead Cells and all the dlc. This game is great fun. Everything that made Dead Cells so addictive but with some tweaks that make everything more approachable for a mainstream audience. It has me looking forward to the new Castlevania from Evil Empire - it’s a shame that Konami are also terrible but Evil Empire deserves all the support. I hope they keep making games like this

I've never been a fan of the roguelike genre. Got this game only because it is my beloved Prince of Persia franchise, and it was on a discount. And boy oh boy, it was a great decision.

Fluid movement, simple yet effective and spectacular combat system with many different weapons, skills and status effects. Gameplay is very dynamic, but not chaotic. Beautifull artstyle, smooth and well designed animations, everything's there.
I got "just one more run" syndrome, and each run wasn't boring at all.

There are however few things than could've been done better.
There is very few bosses, and most of them are pretty easy.
Whole game is pretty easy, at least it was for me. There are additional modificators that you can turn on and make your game harder, but "clean" expirience might be even too easy sometimes.
Story is pretty basic, just another timeloop theme, where hero need to fix his mistakes etc.
Also got some small bugs, but nothing jarring or game breaking.

Overall it's a great game, and even though I'm not a fan of the genre I've enjoyed it a lot. Recommended.

I played the EA and have now returned. The mix of parkour (Prince of Persia style) and combat is just right for combining the IP with the genre.
Personally, I think the game has a good scope and length. It's not a 200+ hour game where you spend countless hours just grinding, but the story (mind map) motivates you to take different paths every now and then. Here and there, it could be a little harder for me, but the team is introducing a harder difficulty level soon.

I find the art style very appealing, and the music has a modern touch and fits wonderfully.

It's also commendable that the game gets regular updates even after the full release (content updates, not just bug fixing).

So if you're looking for a roguelite that focuses a little more on speed and skill (wall runs, jumps, etc.) and is very compact to play, you'll have fun with this one.

Ich habe den EA gespielt und bin nun zurückgekehrt. Die Mischung aus Parkour (Prince-of-Persia-Style) und Kampf ist genau richtig, um die IP mit dem Genre zu verbinden.
Ich persönlich finde, dass das Spiel einen guten Umfang und eine gute Länge hat. Kein 150 h + Game, in dem man etliche Stunden nur noch grindet, sondern ein Game, in dem die Geschichte (Mind Map) einen immer mal wieder dazu motiviert, andere Pfade zu nehmen. Hier und da könnte es für mich etwas schwerer sein, aber das Team führt bald einen höheren Schwierigkeitsgrad ein.

Den Art Style finde ich sehr ansprechend; die Musik hat einen modernen Touch und passt wunderbar.

Lobenswert ist auch, dass das Spiel nach dem Full-Release regelmäßige Updates erhält (Content-Updates, nicht nur Bug-Fixing).

Wer also auf der Suche nach einem Roguelite ist, der ein wenig mehr auf Geschwindigkeit und Geschicklichkeit setzt (Wall Runs, Jumps etc.) und sich sehr kompakt spielen lässt, wird damit Spaß haben.

9 из 10. Я в восторге. Мое мини-открытие в этом году. Это лучший роуг-лайт с видом сбоку в который я играл. Может быть это необъективно, так как мне нравится франшиза Принца с детства. Запоминающиеся персонажи, неплохой сюжет, хорошая реиграбельность. Локации меняются, появляются новые. Вполнее достаточно оружия, перков и т.д. Да, это не Dead cells , хоть от тех же разрабов, но видно, что бюджет был небольшой. Создатели выжили максимум, сделали с душой. И даже прислушались к комьюнити, исправили внешность принца, доработали задники. Саундтрек это отдельный шедевр. До сих пор заслушиваю до дыр - арабские мотивы смешанные с современными жанрами получились великолепными. ASADI топ. Хотелось бы конечно контента побольше, но в очередной раз Юбисовт зажали бабла на хорошую игру, им же вторичного ежегодного Асассина надо делать. В меру хардкорный проект. Игра крутая, всем советую

Je confirme, c'est un bon Rogue Lite.

+ Le Gameplay est plus que correct : jouer avec le décor, courir sur les murs pour progresser, éviter les coups ou en donner n'est pas évident au début mais devient une seconde nature jouissive assez rapidement.
+ La BO est sympa, elle fait le taf sans être ennuyante et certains sons collent parfaitement avec leur environnement.
+ Le Design est très beau et rend les déplacements de notre Prince toujours lisible.
+ L'Histoire est plaisante et on arrive à la fin avant de se lasser.
+ On peut Prolonger le plaisir en ajoutant quelques difficultés, pour les acharnés.
- Ce n'est pas non plus révolutionnaire, un titre comme Hadès a nettement plus de pétillant.
- Arrivé à la fin de l'histoire j'ai toutefois estimé en avoir fait le tour et je n'ai prolongé que de quelques run avec des obstacles imposés mais le fun n'était plus là...

Bref, c'était cool, sympa, belle expérience, retrouver mon prince sautillant m'a fait plaisir, je n'y retournerai certainement pas mais j'en garderai un bon souvenir !

I avoided this game thinking it was "reskined dead cells" so why would I want to play it if I have the "original". But recently I wanted something a little bit different and it turns out Rogue Prince of Persia is a little bit of different in every right way. Wallrunning is a great addition and, alongside with dodging being replaced by vaulting over enemies, makes this game feel unique. On top of that Motion Twin even acknowledged the superiority of spartan sandals by giving them separate button. It may sound silly but it makes kicking enemies into traps much more viable tactic and fun to do. If you liked dead cells give this one a go. If you're a Prince of Persia fan - idk it's my first PoP game so I'm not in a good position to help.

I've been rooting for the game since I heard about it in conjunction with The Lost Crown, when both games hadn't come out yet. I patiently waited for its release, then waited some more. And now, after going as far as I will in the game, I find myself disappointed. I wanted to give this game a try past its middling first impression, hoping to crystallize my gripes and find its redemptive qualities.

Off the bat, the movement seems awkward, as if the prince is labouring to move. It's strange, as I wouldn't say there is much input lag, if at all. It just isn't snappy, which is very much what I want from a 2D game. The problem is exacerbated when I encounter platforming challenges (which are unchallenging). Sometimes I'd try to land between a ledge and a platform, and I couldn't for the life of me.

This leads to another issue where if you dash from a pole, the prince won't dash but will instead let go of the pole. Yes, you read that right. You won't dash to the ledge, or wall, or whatever safety you were hoping to find: you will fall to the spikes.

Dashing into walls will also cause the prince to run up the wall. So when you platform, you will find yourself running up ledges with spikes, or into spikes on the wall. I don't know if this behaviour is par for the course, since dashing also causes the character the vault over opponents, one of the game's core fighting mechanics.

I also didn't find much inspiration in the dialogue, which is sparse, repetitive, and uninteresting. The characters you save in a biome will show up in your next run in the same, unaltered state, except that you won't be able to talk to them cause they are technically not supposed to be there.

Enemy variability is in a sad state, and I am unsure if they are mostly just cosmetically changed from biome to biome. Bosses are likewise underwhelming, and even though they have distinct attacks, they aren't challenging in the least. I died altogether a handful of times to bosses, with the last two being quite easy. The last two fights are also the most monotonous, as you'll be doing the same thing over and over to whittle down their health - unless you manage to get an OP build (more on that soon). The way the game tries to remedy that is unfortunately rote: give enemies more HP, more defence, more damage, more speed.

What the game nails is weapon variation. You get weapons, tools (secondary weapons), and medallions. The game has a host of these, which leads to interesting synergies during your run. You won't be dependent on getting a good weapon at the start of each run: you will get a better weapon during your run, and it might play really well with that medallion you got. I obviously had favourites, but never found myself sticking vehemently to a build, which I often tend to do.

This organic variability might seem simple, but greater games like Hades were not able to pull it off. I remember playing that game and always hoping (often in vain) for blessings that would suit my weapon. This is not the case here, as you will find different weapons at different parts of each run, having higher quality (read: DPS) the deeper you are in your run. The way they did critical hits also adds variation. The easy-to-unlock ability to see the rewards of each biome adds to a feeling of choice that is paramount to a fun gaming experience.

As for overall navigation of the map, the game doesn't force you to clear a level/biome before moving on to the next: you choose whether you want to look for goodies, kill for money and XP, or find another biome to enter. So you do have more autonomy than in other roguelites, where you can only move on once the floor is cleared. Backtracking is basically nonexistent thanks to an abundance of teleportation points, which keeps action and exploration ongoing.

As far as I understand, the game has some free updates lined up this year, but I will unfortunately not be revisiting this game. I will, however, continue to hope Evil Empire will find monetary success with this venture, so that the truly good parts of The Rogue Prince can be distilled into another, better game. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

这个游戏玩了十几个小时了，个人感觉挺好。爬墙的设定也非常新颖，至少我是第一次玩到。难度的变化模式我只玩到了前两个。个人感觉就是没这么爽的感觉。玩了十几个小时唯一爽的一把是得到那个工具暴击的传奇（勋章“不知道是不是这个名字没仔细看）让我把最简单难度的boss过了，当然也相当一部分原因是我比较菜，我属于是又菜又爱玩的那种。但是我还是觉得是否可以让勋章的作用更大一些，或者说是一局更容易凑成四五个能组合成套的。让这种爽局之间的间隔时间更短呢？这只是一个菜鸡的一点个人建议。毕竟嘛！菜就多练！玩这个游戏的大部分应该玩过细胞。所以觉得不对的轻喷！谢谢！

Like other reviews say, the combat and synergies are not as in-depth as Dead Cells, but this game brings with it a fantastic movement system and free-flow parkour, and more of a story and characters focus. A bit lacking in meaty endgame content right now, but a few content updates would be able to fix that.

As a PoP player since childhood and someone who lamented the death of the series in favour of Assassins Creed 1, 2, 60, 5306, eternal - I can say this isn't just another rogue-lite but the closest thing to the original, trap-defying, agility-focused PoP's of old. I would say this is even truer to the classics than the also brilliant PoP Lost Crown. Who needed a Sands of TIme remake when we have this?

总体来说是好玩，跑酷格斗熟练起来又帅又爽，每把武器和工具的搭配也有蛮高的可玩性，但是，但是诸如跑酷的手感还是有问题，特别是每次救达利亚的时候，前面有要救的人，设计的地图就是粘脚，就是贴墙，就是容易掉坑，说的就是你，匠人区，跳一次黑坑就会有惯性跳第二次，然后时间就会差很多，太严苛了吧，打到现在除了40的那堆皮肤也算是全收集了，真的只有这个跑酷的手感啊，打怪的前后摇长，没问题，我会适应，出房间的时候没有无敌帧，我只能看着进房间前的炸弹把我炸死再复活，我忍了，写这个评测前刚跟匠人区的达利亚斗智斗勇完，还是没救成，气到摔手柄了，求求你们至少改改救人的跑酷设计吧

有点像我之前玩的那个绝对魔权。这个游戏是类银+哈迪斯的组合，在哈迪斯同款的肉鸽玩法下添加了类银的模式，然后又有波斯王子祖传的跳跳乐（我的血基本都是跳跳乐扣的这是能说的吗（悲！）然后遇到BOSS也会和哈迪斯一样互相拥有上一次见面的记忆会解锁一些新的对话，这一点很有意思。没有二段跳只能爬墙和冲刺，有不少多余的动作，手感怪怪的。

转向性能就是一坨dogshit，从普攻特攻完到转向放工具的后摇长得能泡杯茶了，是要我请设计师喝吗？明明把性能做高一点，加个工具取消和取消不打断连招能更爽，不管是打群怪还是打boss都更跟手，这又不是什么难事，现在啥沾点动作的游戏还没有取消啊，这方面我只能说落后时代了。

还有这个平台和杆子的吸附力之夸张，你知道地图里一个藤冈要、一跟杆子、一个陷阱、一个矮平台加一堆蓝怪的救赎感吗，无力吐槽了，遇到了除了跑以外啥招都没有了，彻底折服了

I am a huge dead cells fan but I couldn't get into this. I have it a handful of runs but even after unlocking a few weapons and items, couldn't find it worth playing. It shows 10 hours played, but a little less than half of that was sitting at a pause screen. (Had to leave the computer for a while and do other stuff) Maybe if you're already a prince of persia fan you might like it, but I couldn't care any less about the story, and was hoping the movement tech and weapon variety would be enough to get me hooked.
