Got this game as part of an Alawar bundle. Fun and easy-paced game composed of accomplishing goals, tasking trained people to gather and craft resources, selling products to earn $, building the world as resources become available, and fighting pirates (similar to angry birds in knocking pirates off their ships). It's enjoyable finding the correct balance. The game did save poorly one time and so it crashed every time I tried to continue from that save point. I had to restart with a new profile and it didn't happen again. However it did occasionally freeze and require a reboot. There is an end point where you have accomplished all the tasks, the collection is complete, and you open the final cave.

补票了，初中玩这游戏第一次周五玩到转钟，初中每周五不上晚自习，一回家就玩魔兽争霸3，在浩方平台上找房间。这个游戏也是偶然间在百度的问答里看见的，基本算得上我模拟经营游戏的启蒙作品，在一片孤岛上殖民，慢慢收集资源开拓产业，小时候玩了一晚上也才玩到糖厂，当时的汉化组把羊驼翻译成草泥马，看到的时候真的给我逗笑了，也算是古早的趣梗。

实际上，在初中毕业后的十一年里，这个游戏给我带来的一切都逐渐模糊，被时间的沙粒掩埋。进入高中，高中毕业，到现在大学也已毕业两年，我所接触的游戏也越来越多样，越来越精致，每当我怀念过去时，我的确会想起玩到游戏时的兴奋和喜悦，但是想不起来这个游戏的名字，记不得样子。我只是记得，在一个小岛上发展，可以贸易，物资有糖和草泥马，连这样稀薄的回忆，也是最近这段真正闲下来的时间里，我才偶然挖掘出的。

我不是一个特别感性的人，但当我想到它的模糊特征，直到真正找到它时，复杂的心情难以形容，参杂了太多东西，也许是童年的美好滤镜，也许是大学毕业后的艰难历程，也许是对未来的焦虑不安，我几乎要流出泪水。

当我找到它，见到商店界面的预览，像挖开一孔泉眼，有关它的回忆全部迸发了出来。我想起来了，这个游戏可以养草泥马，可以做金银器，可以造桥修吊索；小人可以拖动，吃饱了会竖大拇指，做自己不喜欢做的动作会有哭脸的表情；游戏地图不大，像一幅展开的短轴画卷，从地图的初始右侧发展到左侧，我又想起了许多事情，是的，我还玩过模拟村庄，荒岛余生，遗迹探险队，那是我的暑假、寒假，是我每一个无忧无虑的周五的晚上。

steam上的版本没有中文，但是对于现在的我这无关紧要了。它和以前一样，温馨、惬意，悠扬舒缓的游戏节奏，每次游玩都令人流连忘返。不一样的是，上一次全神贯注地游玩这个游戏的，是一个15岁的初中生，他不明白游戏里维多利亚风格的建筑，不明白阿兹特克文明的遗迹，他只知道，每到周末，他就可以无忧无虑地打开电脑，玩自己喜欢的游戏，这是多么快乐的一件事情呢？他曾经以为这样单纯的快乐能永远持续，不用思考未来，不用思考生活，书房里那台2GB运存的电脑，摆在木桌子上的屏幕，是他自己的promised land。

Ottimo quando decidiamo di staccare la testa per mezz'ora o non abbiamo tempo per una partita a qualcosa di più impegnativo. Se vi piacciono i giochi casual con delle micro (ma proprio micro) gestioni questo gioco fa per te. Consigliato l'acquisto in sconto a prezzo pieno potrebbe valere un po' meno.

EDIT: regardless of my previous review i have switched to a down vote purely for the constant attacks on my system that even windows defender cannot block, from this games files. no other steam game flags defender. uninstalled and will remain as such.

like virtual villagers but working correctly....so far
downsides are the interruptions from the captain that halt everything production wise and the lack of any progress when offline. the latter would not be an issue if the game could be minimised or left playing in the background but both just freeze game and open the options screen.
this means you have to sit and watch and occasionally click.

best played in bursts because of the flawed design but worth the almost nothing i paid for it

Had potential but found it very boring, very quickly. I realize now that the game was created over 10 years ago, but didn't realize it when I purchased it. No ability to see the whole map. Have to wait for ages for resources to collect. No puzzles or challenge. Time waster mostly. Wish it had been updated and re-released for updated gaming systems and style of gaming. While I typically like city builders, this one is not for me.

Nice little casual city building/management game. It's very chill and there's essentially no way to lose (there are some timed challenges, but if you're not fast enough, all you lose is the bonus rewards). There's minimal freedom, since it follows a linear script and you can only build one of each building, in a set location that the game specifies, but it's pretty relaxing and enjoyable.

The workers all have an activity they like and an activity they don't like, but at least in my playthrough, the balance was quite poor. There were some activities that way too many people liked and others that no one liked. Also, since the workers have to carry goods back and forth from the storehouse, some resources are more difficult to accumulate simply because they're located further away, which is a bit annoying. But overall, it's a lovely little game if you just want to chill a bit.

Just fyi, it's an old game, so you may run into resolution issues. I had to manually change my resolution to 1280x768 to get it to work.

Когда я была маленькой, я никогда не проходила эту игру на сто процентов. Я даже не знала, что здесь есть сюжет. Для меня игры были чем-то на подобии: "ОО, тама чото есть, ууу, ааа". В осознанном возрасте, я понимаю почему же я так полюбила эту игру. Она прекрасна, даже спустя столько времени. Сюжет: ну я бы не сказала, что бомба-пушка, я бы сказала, ну он есть. В основном здесь Геймплей. Построй то, добудь это, купи людей... Эта игра настолько продуманна, что у твоих людей всегда будет работа. Всё с друг другом взаимосвязано. Но есть конечно минус такой, неприятненький. Отойти не получиться, если ты хочешь просто посидеть пофармить, ну например знания. То тебе придётся буквально сидеть и фармить. Отойти по работе, по делам, по истощению не получится. Так как иногда вылазит сообщение торговца, которое останавливает игровое время. И само оно не закрывается, а просто висит, пока вы его не выключите. Ну, а так игра и вправду прекрасна на времена. Она простая, в неё приятно играть, тут даже гринд не надоедает. В общем. Сюжет: он тут есть, мы приплыли нечаянно на остров. Ну как нечаянно по ситуации. И развиваем и исследуем данный остров. Потом встречаем поселение которое на нём живёт и кукуем с ними. А потом и вовсе вечное счастье находим. Классный сюжет согласитесь. А да, ещё вечеринку устраиваем, чуть не забыла. Геймплей: удобный, приятный, для людей деланный. Ты не встанешь где-то в углу с вопросом, а что дальше, а что делать? Тебя игра сама постепенно ведёт в правильное русло. Но всё равно оставляет свободу действий. Некий открытий мир. Графика: ламповая, приятная и главное не как в дешёвых 3D играх, где текстуры и модельки фиг пойми какого качества. Короче. Игра не пальцем деланная. А на совесть. Её приятно проходить даже спустя миллион лет. Не каждая игра может таким похвастаться, ну и остальным тоже) Рекомендую 10 из 10 Прекрасных воспоминаний!

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I first played this game a few years ago, and replayed it this week. It is a very laid back, no-way-to-fail (that I can see) sort of base builder. No one starving while they are literally picking crops, or dying of hypothermia in the middle of the market, or getting trampled by livestock when all you have is chickens. I really don't think you could kill one if you tried.
It's visually charming, and once you figure out the interface it's pretty slick. And the looks on the little dudes faces, especially when they're carrying something heavy or you pick them up is pretty funny. There are a few mini games of various types. To get full capacity in your houses you have to buy and fit the rooms together in a puzzle, pirate fights are like Angry Birds, and the final one is, well, I don't even know how to describe it but it is skippable.
Of course nothing is perfect.
It can be annoying when it brings up a request to sell a bunch of something 30 nanoseconds after you just sold all of it. And it would be nice to see a bit more balance in the workers preferred tasks. It might be random but I got two people who like doing something I had to do six times, and none who like doing some things I have to do all the time. The order they give the special tasks could be better, too. Some of them sit in the queue for a long time because you haven't got the stuff you need to do it yet, other pop up ages after you already did it (but you get the credit) Nothing game-breaking though, not even game denting. Just little "huh, why did they do that? *shrug*" moments.
All in all a lovely way to kill some time.

This game is a "scripted colony builder" game with a very satisfying progression and a very unique artstyle. Every playthrough will follow the same progression with the same predetermined building locations for all facilities. It is nowhere near the freedom you get from games like Anno, but it has its own charme and gave me a special satisfaction which I did not get from any other game yet :) Definitely worth the buy, especially on sale!

For behold, this game is a wondrous creation, a masterpiece of gaming that doth bring forth all manner of blessings upon the player who partaketh in its gameplay. The graphics are sublime, the music is heavenly, and the gameplay is as addictive as the fruit from the tree of knowledge.

This is a great entry to survival/management games. It is more about managing people as the "build" aspect is static {when you click on a structure to build, it is placed for you. I actually like this). There are some interesting mini games built in - a tetris style puzzle for the houses to allow more residents to stay, an Angry Birds for ship combat. I already played 40hrs (at the time of this review, and there is still another half of the island to explore.
Everything else is your basic DF style play. Citizens have fav jobs they like, hunger, and more.

Like most Alaware games, they are simple but enjoyable to play - get this.

A great combo of all the good things in a chill game (farming, building, trading, exploring, and much more). Nothing that puts pressure on player (no action bar/ energy, no timers except for a few tasks with time bonus - but can be completed without that). Big thumbs up for the way "combat" is implemented - it's actually a mini-game and it's fun, just enough "combat" for a player like me who wants to chill and not feel like the game is another job. Highly recommended if you enjoy casual games with resource management.

I'm glad I played this cute little game. It has decent graphics, a nice variety of resources, lots to unlock and plenty of upgrades and tech enhancements. It's a colony sim lite style of game with limited long term appeal. I wish I could zoom out, the camera feels way too close. For the low price and 10 or so hours of gameplay, it's a great game for anyone interested in a simple colony sim.
