Great game if you are a US politics nerd like me. Needs to be more fleshed out
I rigged the election and still lost
Listen, I love this game. I've lost many productive hours of my life trying to pass bills and try to make a family dynasty of politicians. However, at this point, it is abusing the Early Access feature as new updates are becoming more and more spaced out. This game has so much potential but I am sad to say, it feels like so much more can be added.
To be honest sometime you just want a simple game. This is it. A lot of fun and cool "what ifs"

Pretty solid political sim. Doesn't nail everything and sometimes the UI makes you feel like it's an early 2000s game, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's enjoyable, in-depth, and frustratingly realistic at times. Emphasizes the importance of campaigning and coalition building, while policy can feel slightly underdeveloped in some areas but that can be a bit of a daunting thing to accomplish I suppose.
If you're someone who is a politics dork, you'll probably get a decent bit of fun out of this.

If you have somewhat of an interest in politics but don't understand everything, this game will more than likely teach you about almost anything you could need to know to understand how the U.S. Government works.
After playing 300+ hours, the game STILL doesn't get boring. This game has nearly infinite replayability.
I believe this game is developed by one person (or at the very most a small team). The updates are very, very infrequent, with the last major update being in like September. There are still bug fixes and such done more frequently. The only thing this game is lacking is more legislation to pass.

Summary: This game is a massive "time-sink." It offers a deep dive into political mechanics that is as educational as it is addictive. However, the long-term experience is hampered by technical instability and a slow development cycle.

I really wanted to like this because I'm a politics nerd and I work in government but ultimately the core gameplay just isn't fun. Someone else described it as incredibly wide but very shallow and I think that's probably the best description.
Lots of specific things I don't like. It's very opaque - not really clear what you're supposed to do or what there even is do. The UI is very basic - like a 1997 game. It's far too clicky - when I won my first election I had to click on, like, 20 separate PACs to introduce myself, scrolling down a long list each time. There's not really any feedback on what you're doing. There's not really much TO do. Legislating doesn't seem to make much sense. You don't really get much control beyond just opposing and supporting things. The tutorial is just "read all these pages of text".
But, all that aside, it's just not fun to click *fundraise *marketing* fundraise *marketing 52 times in a row until you get to an election. And then chose some random legislation. And then the * fundraise * marketing loop for another 52 weeks. I only gave it an hour so perhaps it gets more enjoyable once you get the mechanics a bit more and are doing national elections but its definitely not worth it for me.
This political sim is as authentic and fun as it gets! I have been a politicially brained autistic kid for as long as I can remember. This game relieves that urge for an actual political sim I have been craving for yeeeeeaaarrrssssss. I like BBW's. If you like politics, and want to experience it without actually running for something, or just run insane "What if?" Scenarios for who could be president, this is the game to do it on.
This game is truly enjoyable, even though it's still in early access. It's a deep political simulator, right down to the micro/individual level. It's perfect for those who enjoy the complexity of managing a simulation. Highly recommended. I hope new features continue to be developed, especially in terms of gameplay and legislative content.

The accuracy of the game is incredibly good, there is a ton of replayability and you can do whatever you want, whenever. 10/10 would recommend.

Its a fun game if youre into pol-sims. Theirs plenty to do, different offices to run for from school board all the way to president. Policy, voter breakdown (R vs D vs I) and experience all play into what you do from passing legislation to running campaigns. The game lets you tweak the settings in so many different ways that it gives you the freedom to practically anything. wanna tweak the voter loyalty slider and run a new deal democrat for president? want to make alabama the most populous state in america? want to increase the Independent voter turnout 30% for no reason other than for fun?
the developer just added a judical update which introduces playable judges and a new form of judicial review, and the upcoming economy update looks promising as well. there is great communication between the playerbase and the dev.
the UI is a bit clunky and annoying at times, but if youre playing a pol-sim youre probably not too worried about UI.
The Political Process é aquele jogo que te faz sonhar com inúmeras possibilidades mas que no fim vai frustrar todas as suas expectativas. Eu basicamente segui a carreira de juiz, coloquei para minha esposa ser prefeita em uma cidade do interior da Pensilvanea, com objetivo de trabalhar em campanhas alheias e ganhar reconhecimento, e assim fiz, acumulei um capital de 4 milhões de dolares e minha esposa foi a segunda melhor prefeita da cidade. Só que no meu estado eu não conseguiu subir de cargo para juiz federal, por conta do governador que era Democrata, e eu republicano. Precisava do apoio dele e não tinha. Ai lancei minha esposa para governadora mas sem grandes expectativas.
No fim, ela perdeu nas primarias, tentei fazer com que ela fizesse o terceiro mandado (não consectivo) na prefeitura e mesmo assim ela perdeu nas primarias. Eu fiquei em choque. Meu plano era ser senador e já mudei os planos para Deputado Federal e no fim, torrei 3,5 milhões de dolares em uma campanha que não funcionou e estou muito frustrado.
Se o jogo é bom?
Sim, muito. Mas se você não sabe inglês assim como eu, mesmo assim jogue ele e aprenda o básico das informações. Nem tudo que aparece é tão importante quanto parece. Use o Google AI Studio para traduzir para você o jogo em tempo real, ao mesmo tempo que vira uma secretaria virtual.

This is one of the deepest simulations of American politics I've come across. It has mechanics for campaign strategy, polling, policy making once you are in office, the judicial branch, and more.
The developer (I believe he/she is a single person) communicates with the community and accepts feedback for future updates.
However, be warned that this is not really so much a game as it is a sandbox for experimenting with politics. Graphics are basically non-existent and the UI can be clunky and hard to navigate at times.

It's detailed with functionality, has a lot of features, but has too many features without an easy way to organize or optimize them, and there's too much text, too little visuals.
Seeing this game is from 2019, it is old and there are other options better than it, it is still in early access and is still receiving updates.

Its a simple yet addictive game that you'll lose HOURS too in a bid to relax, also been very good in explaining how the American system works to someone from somewhere else in the world.
If you enjoy politics and often think you can do better then the Old man / Orange guy / whatever term you use for your politicians running your City/ State/ Country currently this is definitely worth a go.
This is one of the most addictive simulation games I've ever played. This game might look boring, but if you love politics and if you love creating your own story, this game is for you. This is the most realistic political sim out there, and the realism is what makes it so engaging.
There is a small learning curve, but the community on Reddit and Discord is big enough to accommodate for it. I love the act of voting on legislation, the numerical system used to determine NPCs' support for bills, the variety of ads you can run.
The developer seems very dedicated to improving the game.

Not playable on steam deck or linux, either natively or via proton. This is counter to the "Steam Deck Compatiblity marker" states.
I wanted to enjoy this game, but I obviously cannot vote positively on a game I cannot play when the store page says its possible.
What I like:
+ Very in depth, probably the most deep and accurate political simulator I've seen.
+ Good amount of customization, if you don't like all the political wankery that goes on in the United States you can choose to disable (or keep) parts of that wankery.
+ Satisfying progression, it's fun to go from city council member to mayor to senator, or whatever course of progression you choose.
+ Proteges allow you to control more than just the position you are currently working, so if you're a governor but one of your protoges is a senator, you can directly influence/vote in the senate.
What I'm unsure/neutral on:
~ Pretty grindy and repetitive, can feel a bit tedious at times.
~ Simple presentation, I don't mind it too much, but it doesn't really hide that the game is mostly looking at spreadsheets.
Overall thoughts:
Kind of insane that a game focused entirely around the boring and infuriating world of politics is so fun. It feels very true to life, but gameified enough to be engaging. Campaigning is mostly the fun part, actually holding office is pretty much just clicking "next week" until something you can do pops up. Still though, fun game, if you're interested I'd say give it a shot.

I enjoy it, it won't be for everyone as its a political sim the screenshots do a good job of showing that. Updates are a bit slow but they seem to do a good job at polishing them I am guessing its a small dev team working on it. Hopefully their international update does drop soon as right now you only deal with small state issues no real "drama" comes up.
I don't understand this game, which means it must be good. Maybe a little too realistic: I came in seeking, idealistically, to change politics for the better, from a nuanced, independent perspective, without having to sell my soul or conform to party ideology. So, naturally, I got zero votes, no matter what I tried.
This is probably the best political simulator game I've ever played, and it's not even complete. The planned updates indicate a great future.
It's a fantastic game, but all the fun really does lie in the campaign aspect. The games at its best when you're in a competitive district and you're on a 2 year election cycle- it really does feel a lot better to have a more constant feeling of pressure to perform well in office.
I would love it if you could do things like forming your own third party or running as an independent in presidential or gubernatorial level elections, it'd also be amazing if the party system was a little less forgiving- I find in my games they typically end up leaning democratic as there isn't really much you can do as a Republican that's particularly popular nationally. A lot more events would also help the problem of elected office feeling fairly hollow- things like scandal popping up would be really exciting.
I'm loving the judiciary update so far, and it's been great to slowly get into the weeds of a new system, but I would love for a bit more dynamism in the game- especially, for example, in how easy it is to just rachet up corporation tax with no reprecussion because corporate lobbyists aren't a prominent feature.
It's fantastic, but I think it still has a lot of rough edges to it.

Very detailed in certain aspects but not necessarily in a way that helps the gameplay. Holding office in this game especially just feels kinda empty and boring. The fun is all in campaigning.
I control all branches of the state government. I hope they add a corruption mechanic so I can get arrested.
This game is the best political simulation by far. i've learned so much about the political system of the US, truly amazing.
The depth of the game is developing month by month and the last big update, to bring in the justice branch, is taking the game on another level. i'm looking forward to further updates.

I quite like it, but it does feel like for all the depth this game has, it lacks a little bit on the local politics level when it comes to influencing election outcomes, and the way that you can try to influence colleagues in local governmental bodies is not very clear.
I will gladly keep playing, but it really is for people who like to daydream about the hardships of winning elections.

For the love of me, please, PLEASE, put key binds, so you can play the game without using the mouse. This game is too click intensive.
No any decent UX/QOL so far. Couldn't really enjoy. Wish I could appreciate the complexity of this project, but it is not accessible at all. Design is controls is unintuitive and too overwhelming for a player like me.
How good can a game possibly get? As someone who love politics (a little too much at times) there is no better game i can recommend than this one.

Es un buen juego, muy entretenido, al principio puede ser quizás muy invasivo, pero con un par de horas le agarras el hilo fácilmente. Cómo opinión personal, no me parece tan re jugable, creo que se vuelve un poco repetitivo, pero puede que sea solo impresión mía, a pesar de ello, lo recomiendo por el precio y si lo encuentras en oferta es una compra automática, le doy un 7/10.
