Very fun game with great platforming and is very entertaining to 100%
I'm glad I had the opportunity to play this game before it left the Steam store. It's not the most well written story but it was still fun to play through. The only other game like this one is A Story About My Uncle, but I actually don't like that one as much.

Having previously played Far Sky and now The Free Ones, it's a shame the studio had to close. I like this game; it's rather rough around the edges, and there could definitely be some improvements in the art style and visual variety, but all in all, I had a good time with The Free Ones. The movement feels quite good, and it's fun to swing around levels at high speed. It's still relatively simple and not super polished, but they nailed the core movement. I also liked the general tone of the game.
I do think the general idea of the game is a bit too similar to A Story About My Uncle. I would have wished it had a few more original ideas and managed to distinguish itself more from that game, but it's fine in the end. All in all, just like Far Sky, there's a certain charm here that's hard to put into words. It's not like the games of that studio were the most original or innovative and were rather unpolished as well, but the essence of those games had a very engaging element to it, which I would have loved to see fully realized before the studio had to close. RIP and 3/5.

Same as "A Story About My Uncle" (+occasional sky-line sequences from Bioshock Infinite) but with much tighter rope swinging physics and mid-air acceleration.
It's more entertaining to play, but it gets painfully repetitive halfway through, and the ominous story is just nothing - you won't care a bit about any of the characters.
If it ever comes back to Steam, it'll probably be worth checking out discounted. Otherwise - you're not missing much.
The third and last game from Farsky Interactive studio, pretty similar to [i]"A Story about my Uncle"[/i] and [i]"The Valley"[/i], but on a lower end. Nice scenery but almost non-existent story. Worth giving it a go though.
The dev really liked wooden crates.

This is a great game and I wish more people could enjoy it. The developers created a beautiful world and story to explore.
I can only BARELY recommend this. It is still janky. The writing is abysmal and I would rather have had 0 story, only implied by the surroundings without explanation! Awful Voice acting. It is pretty and a parkour game so really if that is all you wanted, like me, it delivers. You have to reaaally want a parkour game or else hard pass on this thing.

说实话,我并不推荐这个游戏。正常来讲这个的流程不会很长,但是作为一个精细操作苦手,如我的游戏时长,就是纯纯的折磨。一开始被这个游戏中的风景和飞起来时呼啸的风声吸引,但是越玩越觉得剧情实在是单薄,自己玩游戏的耐心在女主发布的一个个任务中逐渐就耗尽了。而且说实话关卡重复性有点高的,玩一玩就腻了,但是看自己的进度想着我一个手残都打到这里了不然就打完吧,后两章就纯纯折磨中打下来。如果你是很擅长高端操作,喜欢一些极限运动,那这个游戏应该蛮适合你,因为风景真的不错,有些地方也有些挑战度,但如果是向着剧情的,那就算了。

Heute bin ich der the free revving, da nach diesem Game sich jeder nach Freiheit strebende Mensch absolut vollendet fühlt.
Eine Story die sich langsam aufbaut und immer mehr Geheimnisse offenbart mit denen keiner rechnen konnte. Durch das Kennenlernen von bestimmten NPCs, wie diese eine Frau da und das Parkoursystem das man durch längeres Spiel nazu perfektionieren kann, gewinnt das Spiel über zeit an viel Freiheit.
Der turn der Story kam unerwartet. Als ich in einer der letzten Level die Wahrheit herausfinden musste, begab ich mich erstmal für gute 3 Tage in einen Schalldichten Raum aka mein Zimmer und hörte in Dauerschleife Joji.
Danach aber wurde mir klar was es heißt Frei zu sein. Ich werde mich die Woche mal ans Meer begeben und meinen Finger Richtung Ozean strecken. Wieso keine Ahnung habe das Gefühl ich muss da hin um Frei zu sein.
NA HÖR MAL, waren meine ersten Worte als ich die Wasserfall/Strömungs-Level spielten durfte. Ich meine ja nur das die anzahl der Fässer und die unglaublich realistische Flut mir ab und an mal meine krassen Spielerischen Skills abverlangt hat. Von den Zügen will ich gar nicht erst anfangen, die waren ja toll.
Der Gleiter ist sehr cool und die Level sind ganz nice und joa

Je vais finalement décider de ne pas le recommander, ou plutôt avec quelques précautions d'usage, puisqu'il s'adresse à des joueurs amateurs de jeux de plateformes.
Nous incarnons Theo, jeune homme réduit en esclavage au fond d'une mine, et qui finit par trouver une échappatoire grâce à d'inattendus alliés. Problème, la mine en question se situe sur une île, qui sera donc la prochaine étape de son évasion, et le début de notre aventure.
Aventure qui constituera à débloquer des passages pour notre nouvelle alliée, qui communiquera avec nous par talkies interposés à la Firewatch.
Le gameplay est principalement à base de plateformes/parkour à base de sauts et de grappin :
Grappin utilisable trois fois par saut avant de devoir le recharger au sol.
Grappin utilisable uniquement sur les objets en bois.
Complété en cours de jeu par une wingsuit en cours de jeu, permettant de traverser de plus grandes étendues.
Malgré quelques bonnes idées, The Free Ones souffrent de quelques lacunes
La première étant une pauvreté narrative. Je pense qu'il aurait même mieux valu ne pas avoir de trame du tout dans la mesure où elle est trop ponctuelle et mal amenée.
L'autre réside dans son gameplay qui d'une part peine à se renouveler, et parfois un poil mal foutu.
Mal foutu dans le sens où quand il faut commencer à contourner les règles du jeu en « trichant » ; pour citer un exemple, se propulser avec son grappin sur une surface théoriquement non accessible afin de recharger ce dernier, plutôt que de faire le chemin classique qui est parfois un pur cancer en plus d’être très aléatoire (avec notamment une histoire de caisses en bois particulièrement pénibles sur la fin).

Самая конченая физика из всех игр в которые я играл. Едва игра началась, и это стало просто очевидно. Гг может прыгать на пять метров вверх и метров на десять вперед, и это даже без разбега.
Местный мир по наполнению - это несколько объектов, тысячами абсолютно наобум распиханных по миру безо всякого смысла. Окружение и наполнение мира лишено всякой логики.
Приспособления - крюк кошка и что то типа вингсьюта не делают игру проще, потому что теперь расстояние между объектами возрастает в несколько раз. Становится сложнее, но не интереснее.
A poorly made game. It doesn't run well, has a fragmented and incomplete story, questionable mechanics, and about 3 textures and mechanics that the game continuously reuses. Play A Story About My Uncle instead. Save yourself from the pain.
Well, only twenty minutes in I've already found a part that I can not pass (lots of strings of moving crates across a large lake). I've played enough video games to know that this will get trickier and trickier and far eclipse my own meager dexterity so I won't be going back to it.
It's not a bad game, think Mirror's Edge on a budget with a grappling hook. The number of times I missed the grappling hook "click" point was offputting, sure it's my fault and I should get better, but I've lots of games I'd like to play more than continue with this.
Anyway, worth a punt if you fancy getting good with grappling hooks, for me it's a no.

The game starts strong but half way through it´s just getting rediculus. From this point on you have to land on small wooden boxes that swim along a current while you pray to RNGesus the physics behave so you don´t just slip off or glitch through the box when landing on them. But it get´s worse: Last stretch of the game is an area where you can only hook to objects once. After that, they are gone. Problem is: If you hook onto something from below, there is quite a good chance you just bonk your head on the object, fall again, and now you have no more point to teather and rescue yourself to.
I quit at a certain point where you have moving boxes on a rail going through several tunnels. The boxes on the rail were quite far apart from each other and, of course, would break if I hook onto them. Now, when the boxes go through the tunnel, I have to jump around a huge rock to catch up with them on the other side, where they exit. Since they break when hooked I can only try to just fling myself with this one hook around another boulder to the exit of the second tunnel. Now I have two hooks left to use and somehow land somewhere but... where are the boxes? Oh, yes. I forgot. They BREAK when I hook them. And since I had to use the hook to fling myself accross there is now a gap in the line of boxes and I have nothing to theather myself to...
Just... why?? I feel like the game expects some kind of speedrunner bs from me just to casually play the game. Not only when going trough the level but also for getting the flags. The only collectable in the game. Some of them are managable, easy even. Some of them are just bs³. I totally get they are optional and usually on a longer, more difficult route. But why are some of them just sitting in the air with no hook-able surface in a 10 km radius (and no ground to safely land on).
TL;DR: Loved the game at the start. Liked the game when it got challenging. Uninstalled the game when it decided to go full bs-mode.

Игра в целом неплохая за свои деньги. Но отсутствие внятного сюжета все сильно портит.
Сюжет конечно есть, но он даже хуже чем у порнофильма.
Также к минусам отношу необходимость часто "задротить". Хоть и прошел игру за 10 часов, но всего впечатлений осталось: как "задротил" проходя тот или иной причудливый поворот. Трудность это хорошо, но всего в меру. Это же игра, отдых, а не симулятор паркура на выживание в реальной жизни. В общем на любителя. Обычно играм, сделанным маленьким коллективом, всегда ставлю лайк чтобы поддержать. В данном случае не заслужили. Игру проходил через силу - буквально догрыз как не интересную книгу.

The game is pretty, the voice acting (what little there was) was decent and the performance was solid.
However the game-play could be very frustrating at times. The grapple frequently refused to latch even though the icon was lite up and my character would also frequently get stuck in the graphics requiring a restart. I would have also liked a few more checkpoints as some of the areas could be quite tricky because of those issues I mentioned.
Overall its not a bad game though. I wish the developer well in his new ventures.

En sachant que le jeu allait disparaitre du magasin steam, et ayant apprécié farsky (le premier jeu du developpeur), je me suis permis de l'acheter pour voir de quoi il en retourne.
La difficulté est parfois frustrante, l'histoire n'est pas très passionnante. Mais les saut au grappin sont fun.
J'ai un peu plus de 3H sur le jeu, je l'ai fini, et je me suis bien amusé.
[h1] The Free Ones will soon be taken off of the Steam store- therefore I am posting this review mostly unedited in all its longwinded glory. [/h1] The Free Ones is a fairly simple, fun (at times frustrating) First Person Platforming game similar to A Story About My Uncle and Valley. Although both of those games are arguably a bit better, The Free Ones does enough unique at times during its 5-or-so-hour playthrough to warrant fans of that particular style of first person game checking it out.
The Free Ones most unfortunate misstep is the fact that it's hard to really care about much in the game, as it forgoes much presentation of story at all and settles for vague radio comms between the game’s two leads and only a few cutscenes bookending it which establish a vague background story background story. Looking toward this game to provide more than just a passing, ethereal 'dreamlike' sequence or two with some fun platforming and gliding bits interspersed inbetween may lead to disappointment.
That being said, some of the areas on the game are pretty exciting and definitely memorable, particularly the (minor spoilers describing specific level sequences:) [spoiler] section where multiple trains intersect and zigzag above water as you have to attach to one speeding along before gliding to another, or a later more challenging section where you have to grapple along floating wooden crates as you descend a series of rivers. [/spoiler]
The Free Ones main gameplay mechanic includes utilizing a combination of a grappling hook which will pull you toward whatever you're attached to and a (somewhat silly-looking) glide mechanic where your character extends their arms to SUPERMAN dat HOEEEEEEEEEE themselves to the next area.
The Free Ones can feel like it is becoming a bit plodding and one-note as the environments seem to be similar to the one preceding it, however to its credit any time I started to feel things becoming a bit mundane the main gameplay mechanic would be presented in a new way to recontextualize the challenge. Later in the game, surfaces you attach to disintegrate, forcing the player to make their way through challenging sections in one-go (whereas earlier in the game the surfaces have 'infinite grapples' that don't erode, allowing more time for you to line up your next jump.
One major critique to the game is that it lacks anything in the way of powerups or new equipment outside of the initial ‘wingsuit’ (glide) mechanic. If further elements had been introduced, whether a “mid air dash” or a “double jump” / “spring shoes” or something along those lines it may have felt a bit more robust. As it stands The Free Ones shows early on what it will be doing for most of its runtime. I thought it was a fun, short, relaxing experience (mostly- outside of the difficulty spike in later areas)
For its affordable price tag the game is quite fleshed out, I just wish it had more story beats during its runtime than implied narrative from radio comms between the game’s two leads.
Just... Don't even bother.

Very nice game. A bit a mix of Portal and CS GO surfing. Very Fun to play. It is a bit sad that the programmer is taking it of steam. If he has not yet, I would recommend to get it. :)
Всем понятно чем вдохновились разработчики. Добились они уровня истории про дядьку? нет. Добились они хотя бы половины планки? тоже нет. Паркур на вкус и цвет, есть пара поджигающих моментов, многообразия не завезли. Самый главный промах это сюжет, не будь кроме гг на острове никого, что избавило бы нас от "чудесных" диалогов, то игра бы от этого только прибавила.
Если паркур двигает кровь в ваших жилах, а все остальные игры этого жанра пройдены по несколько раз, то беря во внимание без того низкую цену можно и взять. Если это не про вас, то поверьте есть куча вариантов провести время куда приятнее.

Çerçevesiz pencereli değil. baya pencereli ekran. bi miktar can sıkıcıydı ancak olur öyle. 4-5 saat civarında bitti zaten.

Anyway this gets compared to [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/278360/A_Story_About_My_Uncle/]A Story About My Uncle[/url] a lot, and for good reasons. Similar graphics and settings, grappling hook mechanics, some story but not with too much focus on it etc. That game is solid. This one is so-so. [b]I'd put a Mixed review if I could[/b], but since I can't quite "recommend" it I'll have to go with a negative review and justify it by the lackluster story and annoying gameplay.
The game starts off pretty well, introducing an interesting setting and giving you the grappling hook mechanics. But then the story barely moves forward beside a twist at the end that you could see miles away. Mostly I'm upset that you have a very large enemy organization that have an entire island under control or something, but the enemy is solely referred to as "they" and you never get to see "them" past the intro sequence. You're supposed to believe that "they" are there, all while you're leaping across huge empty landscapes without a soul or a sign of any life in sight. My problem with this is that as you progress through the game it feels far less like an artistic choice and much more like the lack of developer budget. Ruins the immersion quite a bit for me.
And the gameplay gets worse past about mid-game when the game starts to make you rely on physics objects to navigate. Mostly those crates that float in the water and go down the stream, which is a level design element that gets reused far too many times. And I hate all of it. Because these are all physical objects every time you land on a crate it's an unpredictable gamble whether you'll stay on it or drown. You get to replay the same sections many times until the physics don't act unexpectedly (or occasionally glitchy too!). It's not so terrible to get through it but putting the "no death" achievements per-level is ludicrous (especially with levels being like half hour long).
Anyway, if what you see in the trailer appeals to you and the game is on sale then sure grab it. Just don't expect a lot from it. The game feels like it was made in 2010 by an indie developer, not 2018. The controls feel clunky and sometimes random. The voice acting and story are laughably bad. I am genuinely upset to have spent time and money playing this game.

짚라인 액션과 빠른 속도감, 생각보다 가벼운 캐릭터의 물리엔진 때문에 물리엔진 난이도가 상당히 어려운 편인데
활공시스템까지 겹쳐지게 되면 점프를 씹고 가끔 활동을 해버리는 대환장스러운 모먼트가 연출됩니다.
기차는 어쩔 때는 사이에 안 끼고 어쩔때는 사이에 끼거나 빠집니다.
빠른 속도로 짚라인 액션 중에 애매하게 합판에 끼게되는 경우 빠지지도 않습니다.
챕터 중에 물을 사이에 두는 스테이지가 오게 되면 온갖 것이 랜덤요소가 됩니다.
난 분명 상자에 타고있는대도 운 나쁘게 물살이 쎄서 캐릭터의 반 정도를 적시는 순간 리스폰됩니다.
상자는 가끔 하나가 밀려서 나와야하는 타이밍에 안 나올 때가 많습니다.
그리고 스토리도 그냥 결국 이랬다가 저랬다가 하는 소득 1도 없는 재미없는 이야기였고 결국 얻는것도 없었습니다.
주인공이 원래 할아버지와 함께 살았는데 노예로 어디로 잡혀가서
오랜기간 노역에 시달리다가 결국 탈출을 하는 그런 엔딩 정도?
그런데 스토리 이따구로 할거면 다른 캐릭터는 왜 넣었니..?
그래서 노예로 잡은 이유는 뭐고?
스토리가 이따구인데 태그에 '깊은 세계관'..?
초반에 속도감과 점프, 스테이지 클리어로 주어지는 귀환 지프라인 이벤트가 속을 시원하게 뚫어주자마자
스테이지 난이도 조절 바로 실패해서 속 뚫었던거 다시 5배로 꽉꽉 막히게하는 이런 난이도가 어디있는건지 싶네요.
와 진짜 난이도를 이거보다 조금이라도 좀 쉽게 했으면 이렇게까지 싫어하진 않았을텐데.

Esta muy bueno, pero compralo en oferta porque es una experiencia de unas 4 horas a lo mucho, quede muy satisfecho con la historia que es simple pero efectiva y el gameplay entretenido.
